MY LOW BEAMS KEEP GOING OUT ON BOTH SIDES. ALL OTHER LIGHTS SEEM FINE WITH NO APPARENT ISSUES. I HAVE CHANGED OUT THE BULBS, THEN FOUND OUT THEY WERE STILL GOOD ALL ALONG. I HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE CONNECTOR. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE CONNECTOR WAS BURNED MOSTLY ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. I CHANGED OUT BOTH DUE TO THE FACT YOU HAVE TO REMOVE/PARTIAL REMOVE THE BUMPER IN ORDER TO WORK ON THE HEADLIGHTS. THE HEADLIGHTS WILL WORK FOR A WHILE THEN STOP AGAIN USUALLY ONLY ONE SIDE AT A TIME. I WAS TOLD BY A FRIEND WHO ALSO HAD THE SAME ISSUE ON A 2012 THAT IT MAY BE THE AUTO LIGHT STAYING ON AND THE CIRCUIT MAY BE OVERHEATING. NOT SURE IF THIS IS ACCURATE BUT IT SOUNDS LOGICAL. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 4 YEARS NOW WITH THIS MONTH BEING THE MOST RECENT AFTER ABOUT 6 MONTHS SINCE REPLACING WIRES AND I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY KNOW RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. ANY HELP IN THIS MATTER WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
MY VEHICLE IS AT AN AUTO SHOP BEEN THERE FOR A WEEK AND A HALF TO REPAIR THE CLUNKING NOISE IN THE STEERING COLUMN BUT THE MOTOR AND MODULE FOR THE ELECTRIC STEERING ASSIST IS SEIZING UP WHICH WOULD BE DANGEROUS TO TURN IN TRAFFIC. I ALREADY SPENT ENOUGH TIME AND MONEY ON PARTS AND LABOR. THIS IS NOTHING I HAVE DONE TO THE CAR ONLY HAD FOR A YEAR. I NEED YOUR HELP! THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE! OR SEND ME A NEW MOTOR AND MODULE FOR THIS CAR PLEASE. YOU GUYS CAN AT LEAST DO THAT. I LOVE THE CAR BUT THIS IS A PROBLEM. 2.4L ELECTRIC ASSIST. The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact also stated that later in 2020, the electronic stability control (ESC) and low traction warning lights were illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where she was informed that both front rotating assemblies needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V019000 (Air Bags) and 14V252000 (Electrical System, Exterior Lighting, Vehicle Speed Control, Electronic Stability Control) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.
3RD TIME PASSANGER HEADLIGHT HAS GONE OUT IN THE LAST YEAR. ALONG WITH THE PREVIOUS ISSUES I REPORTED
TAKATA RECALL*** AT 80000 MILES I WAS DRIVING AND THEN MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE TRIED REVERSE WITH NO LUCK ENDED UP HAVING TO CALL TOW COMPANY TO GET ME OUT OF TRAFFIC WITH ALMOST BEING HIT SEVERAL TIMES . WITH RESEARCH FOUND OUT THIS IS COMMON AND GM REFUSES TO FIX PROBLEM WITCH IS NOT RIGHT SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING AND PUTTING FAULTY TRANSMISSION IN 2010 AND 2011 MALIBU'S
I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL DEACTIVATED ITSELF. THE SEAT BELT LIGHT STAYS LIT MOST OF THE TIME. IT SAYS SERVICE AIR BAG AND TRACTION SYSTEM. TRACTION SYSTEM LIGHT GOES OFF AND ON, BUT THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON. DOESNT RESET EVEN WHEN UNHOOKING THE BATTERY AND REHOOKING IT UP. CAR MAKES RATTLING NOISE FROM FRONT END. PULLS HARD TO THE RIGHT.

ON FRIDAY MORNING, MARCH 22, 2019 WHILE DRIVING MY POWER STEERING WAS LOST. THE POWER STEERING ESC MESSAGE CAME ON. BY THE GRACE OF GOD I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO SAFETY .HUFFINES CHEVROLET PLANO REPLACED AND PROGRAMED STEERING TORQUE SENSOR FOR $590.18. THE MILEAGE ON THE CAR WAS 154,257 SO THE #15356: SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT - LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST - (AUG, 2015) DOCUMENT ID: 4259502 WHICH STATES 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES DID NOT APPLY.
MY GIRLFRIEND WAS DRIVING MY CAR HOME FROM THE DOCTORS AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. IT CAUSE HER TO HIT THE CURB AND POSSIBLY DO MORE DAMAGE. SHE WAS ONLY DOING 30 MPH ON A BUSY STREET. I HAVE A DATE WITH A DEALERSHIP ON THE 27TH OF MARCH 2019 TO WAIT FOR THE VERDICT OF WHAT THERE GOING TO SAY. I HAVE READ ALOT OF THE POST ON HERE AND HAVE SEEN THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT I HAVE CHANGED THEM SEVERAL TIMES WITH DIFFERENT BRANDS AND THEY CONTINUE TO GO OUT. I HAVE TO RUN WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON BECAUSE THE LIGHTS KEEPS BURNING OUT. THIS IS CAUSE AND SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD INVOLVE POINTS ON MY LICENSE IF PULLED OVER. THIS IS CRITICAL SINCE I'M A CDL DRIVER. THE STEERING COULD CAUSE DEATH IF TRAVELING AT A HIGHER SPEED. GM KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND IF PUBLIC ISN'T NOTIFIED THAT IT'S FAULTY COULD ALSO INVOLVE A LAWSUIT.
MY 2011 CHEVY MALIBU WITH 2.4 ECOTEC JUST BROKE A TIMING CHAIN GUIDE. 67,000 MILES. WAS GETTING THE P0016 AND P0017 CRANK / CAM CORRELATION CODES. MAN AM I TICKED!! I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH 18,000 MILES ALWAYS CHANGED OIL. GM WILL DO NOTHING!! I HAVE OWNED A 2001 SATURN L200 THAT BROKE A TIMING CHAIN WITH 106,000 MILES AND CRASHED THE HEAD. GM WOULD DO NOTHING!! I HAD A CUTLASS SUPREME AND CUTLASS SIERRA IN THE 90'S. BOTH OF THESE CARS HAD THE OUTER HARMONIC BALANCER RING JUST COME UN-GLUED AND FALL OFF! GM DID NOTHING. THIS IS THE LAST STRAW FOR ME , I AM NOW FOCUSED ON HONDA WHO ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT RELIABILITY!!!!!
TAKATA RECALL WE WERE IN MOTION GOING DOWN A HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR JUST STOP, WE PUT IT IN REVERSE IT MOVED WHEN WE PUT IT BACK IN DRIVE WOULD NOT MOVE.THE CAR IS NINE YRS OLD I WAS SCARE TO DEATH.
STARTING CAR AND POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON. I TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON AND IT'S FINE. THIS JUST STARTED.
UPDATE ON COMPLAINT #'S 1144041 & 11172602. ON 2/8/19, I WAS 2 BLOCKS FROM WORK WHEN MESSAGES DISPLAYED FOR (SERVICE ECS, REDUCED ENGINE POWER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT). I DROVE RIGHT FROM WORK TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHICH WAS 9 MILES AWAY, WITH MY HAZARDS ON AND AT A MAX SPEED OF 25 MPH. I DROVE IT INTO THE BAY AND TOLD A SERVICE ADVISOR THAT I WAS TOLD TO BRING IT BACK WHILE THE PROBLEM WE KEEP TRYING TO FIX WAS ACTUALLY HAPPENING. HE TRIED TO GET SOMEONE TO COME HOOK UP THE CODE READER TO IT BUT WAS UNABLE TO SO HE TURNED OFF MY CAR. I RECEIVED A VOICEMAIL MID-DAY MONDAY 2/11/19 TO SAY THAT BECAUSE MY BATTERY HAD BEEN OUT OF MY CAR TOO LONG, THEY HAD TO RELEARN THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY. I LEFT A MESSAGE TO SPECIFICALLY SAY THAT THE LAST TIME THE BATTERY HAD BEEN OUT OF MY CAR TO MY KNOWLEDGE WAS 3/2018. WHEN THEY CALLED BACK, THEIR CONCLUSION WAS THAT THE BATTERY HAD NOT BEEN INSTALLED OR SECURED PROPERLY WHICH CAUSED THEM TO HAVE TO RELEARN THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY. ON 2/19/2019, IT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT THEY COULD NOT READ A CODE WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN, SO WAS AGAIN SENT TO COME BACK WHEN IT WAS OCCURRING SO THEY COULD HOOK UP THE CODE READER WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING. ON 3/5 I DROVE MY CAR TO THEM WHILE IT WAS DISPLAYING THE MESSAGES AND RUNNING ROUGH. THEY AGAIN TRIED TO PUT THE BLAME ON THE BATTERY. EVEN THOUGH THE CODES WHERE P2176 AND P2135, THE RECOMMENDED FIX WAS NEW BATTERY AND BATTERY CABLES ($733). I STILL HAD WARRANTY FOR THAT BATTERY AS IT WAS INSTALLED NEARLY A YEAR AGO AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENCE, SO I WENT BACK TO THAT AUTO SHOP. HE DID NOT FIND ANYTHING ASSOCIATED TO BATTERY BUT DID FIND GM BULLETIN FROM 2012 (PIP5019). HE RE-CRIMPED THROTTLE BODY CIRCUIT PINS AFTER DOING A PEN OUT TEST AT ECU. IT IS NOW 3/25 AND NO OTHER ISSUES! HOPING WE HAVE FOUND ROOT OF THE PROBLEM. NO THANKS TO DEALER OR CHEVY CUSTOMER CARE...

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE BEGAN APPROXIMATELY A YEAR AGO AND WAS WORSENING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FOUR DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT MECHANICS, BUT NONE OF THEM COULD RESOLVE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
WAS DRIVING MY 2011 CHEVY MALIBU LTZ WHEN I NOTICED THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT STARTED LEANING TO THE RIGHT SIDE. I INSPECTED THE UNDERSIDE TO SEE THE CROSS BAR BROKEN ON THE RIGHT SIDE. NOW THE SEAT ROCKS AND IS VERY UNSTABLE. I HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF REPORTS CLAIM THAT MY THE SAME DESIGN FLAW. WHY IS GM NOT DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THIS?
WHILE DRINKING THE CAR THE STEERING QUITS WORKING ALMOST CAUSING ME TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR, THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON SAYING ELECTRONIC STEERING CONTROL WAS THE ISSUE. I TAKE IT TO A SHOP AND THEY TELL ME THE MALIBU, G6, AND IMPALAS ALWAYS DO THAT AND THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL PLACED ON IT, & IT IS EITHER THE ELECTRIC STEERING MOTOR OR THE TOURQE SHAFT SENSOR. THEY SAID THERE HAVE BEEN PEOPLE IN ACCIDENTS WHICH RESULTED IN DEATH DUE TO THIS ISSUE. COULD YOU PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS PLEASE AS I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS EVEN AFTER THE $1500 FOR REPAIRS ARE DONE. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER AND CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER NEW CAR. THIS IS VERY SCARY WHEN THIS GOES OUT ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I HAVE A VIDEO OF WHAT THE CAR DOES WHEN YOU START IT UP WHEN THE STEERING GOES BACK TO WORKING. IT DOES THIS WHILE DRIVING OR SITTING STATIONARY. WHEN LOOKING ON A CHEVROLET FORUM THERE WERE THOUSAND OF PEOPLE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO WITH NUMEROUS CAUSING ACCIDENTS.
DRIVERS SEAT STARTED LEANING TO THE RIGHT OVER TIME. THEN ONE DAY WHEN WE GOT IN THE CAR, THE SEAT WAS WOBBLY. THOUGHT MAYBE A LOOSE BOLT, BUT FOUND SEAT FRAME IS BROKEN. LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE MALIBU, BUT NO RECALLS. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY CHEVY.
CAR CONTINUES TO GO INTO REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND WILL NOT DRIVE/RUN LONGER THAN FIVE MINUTES. I HAVE ALREADY HAD ALL RECALLS FIXED ON THE VEHICLE INCLUDING THE ONE THAT SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THIS PROBLEM.
SERVICE ESC MESSAGE - ESC OFF MESSAGE - AND POWER STEERING MESSAGES COME ON AND I CANNOT TURN MY CAR. HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON DAILY COMMUTE AND CAUSES ME TO BE PUT IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS ESPECIALLY ON THE EXPRESSWAYS. THERE IS NOT ALWAYS A PLACE TO PULL OVER. THESE INDICATORS HAPPENS WHETHER DRIVING OR SITTING STILL. SERVICE AIR BAG MESSAGE STAYS ON.
THE POWER STEERING WAS LOST AS I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE IN A CITY ROAD. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MILES AN HOUR ON A STRAIGHT ROAD, NOT TURNING AT THE TIME. THE SERVICE ESC LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR JERKED TO THE SIDE, WHICH WAS TERRIFYING WITH MY TWO YOUNG KIDS IN THE CAR. THIS REPAIR WAS COVERED UNDER THE GM BULLETIN 15356 AND THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE EPS MOTOR AND TORQUE SENSOR. HOWEVER, SINCE HAVING THE WORK DONE, THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT MY STEERING COLUMN IS NOW BENT. AS I HAVE NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT, THIS COULD ONLY BE FROM THE IMPACT OF LOSING MY POWER STEERING. I FEEL LIKE THIS REPAIR SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THIS SPECIAL BULLETIN AS WELL. THIS POWER STEERING FAILURE JEOPARDIZED THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND THIS SHOULD BE MADE A FULL RECALL COVERING ALL THE STEERING COMPONENTS TO THE 2011 CHEVROLET MALIBU. I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR WHAT WILL BE OVER $700 TO FIX THE ISSUE CAUSED BY THIS POWER STEERING FAILURE. *DT

THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. IT STAYS ON FOR A COUPLE DAYS AND THEN GOES AWAY. IT WAS ON FOR FOUR DAYS THIS LAST TIME, WENT AWAY FOR ONE DAY AND CAME BACK ON TODAY. I LOOKED ONLINE AND IT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF OTHER MALIBU OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I DECIDED TO LOOK TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY RECALLS FOR THE AIRBAG SENSOR AND THERE ISN'T. SEEMS LIKE THERE SHOULD BE IF THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
UPON STARTING MY 2011 MALIBU, THE ALERT TONE SOUNDED AND A MESSAGE APPEARED FLASHING "POWER STEERING AND ALSO ESC". IT WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN WHEEL. I SHUT THE CAR OFF, WAITED A MINUTE, THEN STARTED IT AGAIN. IT WAS FINE, BUT HAS DONE THE SAME THING SEVERAL AT LEAST ONCE DAILY OVER THE LAST WEEK. WHEN ERROR MESSAGE IS NOT PRESENT, THE WHEEL PULSES & MOVES- WHILE IN PARK AND IN DRIVE. 149,700 MILES ON CAR.
ESC OFF "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" LIGHTS FLASHED ON UPON START OF VEHICLE, POWER STEERING WAS OFF/NOT WORKING. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, THE ERRORS DISAPPEARED AND IT WAS DRIVEABLE. THIS HAPPENED 7-8 TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF 2 WEEKS, AS IT BECAME MORE FREQUENT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR SERVICE AND THE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO WOULD SHAKE WHEN DRIVING, ESPECIALLY WHILE TURNING, AND THIS WAS A DANGER AT TIMES ON ICY ROADS IN NORTH DAKOTA!!
MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS BOTH GO ON WHEN USING REMOTE TO UNLOCK DOOR, BUT AS SOON AS I PUT THE KEY IN IGNITION AND TURN IT TO START THE CAR, THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT GOES OUT. I HAVE TAKEN CAR TO DEALER TWICE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS AND THEY REPLACED THE BULB, WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY NOT THE PROBLEM. YESTERDAY IT WENT OUT YET AGAIN.MANY PEOPLE HAVE POSTED THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. INITIATE A RECALL. IT'S OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2011 CHEVY MALIBU, I RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE FOR POWER STEERING. I TRIED THE STEERING AND IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN. I TURNED OFF THE CAR COMPLETELY FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. I STARTED IT BACK UP AND THE STEERING FELT NORMAL, SO I DROVE IT ABOUT A QUARTER OF A MILE HOME. THE NEXT MORNING, I WENT TO START THE CAR TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERS AND THE POWER STEERING LIGHT WAS LIT UP IN THE DASHBOARD AND AGAIN, THE WHEEL WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN AND AT THE POINT I NEEDED A TOW. I WANT TO ADD THAT THE BATTERY COMPLETELY DIED, SO I WAS GETTING NO POWER AT ALL TO THE CAR. IN MY SPARE TIME AND WHILE WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK I LOCATED A BULLETIN ON-LINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE, BULLETIN 15356, WHICH WILL COVER YOUR CAR, IF YOU HAVE OWNED IT LAST THEN 10 YEARS AND IT HAS LESS THEN 150K MILES ON IT, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AT GM AND WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED, BUT LEARNED WHEN CHECKING MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE, IT WAS COVERED. IT IS NICE THAT GM PUT THIS BULLETIN OUT TO COVER THIS WELL KNOWN PROBLEM, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE FOLKS THAT ARE OUT OF TIME AND MILEAGE. THIS IS NOT FAIR! WHEN I WAS AT THE DEALERS, 2 OTHER PEOPLE WERE IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE POWER STEERING FAILURE. GM REPLACED TORQUE SENSOR AND THE MOTOR MODULE. APPARENTLY BOTH FAILED AND FORTUNATELY BOTH WERE COVERED UNDER THE "SPECIAL WARRANTY BULLETIN 15356, WHICH I AM VERY HAPPY ABOUT. I AM STILL UPSET THOUGH, BECAUSE GM KNOWS THAT THE POWERING STEERING A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL TO COVER THE PEOPLE THAT SPENT THEIR HARD OWNED DOLLARS ON BUYING YOUR CAR, ONLY FOR THEM TO GET SCREWED LATER WHEN THE POWERING STEERING SYSTEM FAIL PREMATURELY. I PICKED UP THE CAR TODAY FROM THE DEALER AND SO FAR, IT SEEMS TO BE WORKING OKAY. IF THE PROBLEM RE-OCCURS, I HOPE IT HAPPENS BEFORE I OWN THE CAR FOR 10 YEARS, OR BEFORE MY MILES GET TO 150K
SATURDAY AROUND ABOUT 2 PM ON 2/2/2019. IN VEHICLE TRAVELING IN LEFT LANE ON HIGHWAY 72. VEHICLES WERE AT COMPLETE STOP AT TRAFFIC LIGHT. WHEN THE TRAFFIC LIGHT CHANGED AND THE VEHICLES BEGAN TO MOVE ABOUT LOW MPH TO GRADUALLY FLOWING WITH MOVING TRAFFIC. I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM BRAKE MY VEHICLE INITIATED AN ACCELERATION. IT SEEMED STRANGE SINCE THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY STOPPER ON A SLIGHT INCLINE. MY VEHICLE PROPELLED WITHOUT THE HELP OF ACCELERATION AS TRAFFIC WERE AT LOW MPH. MY VEHICLE SUSPENSION CHANGED IN STEELING OFF INTO THE MEDIAN FROM LEFT LANE GOING DOWN HILL UNABLE BRAKE OR TO CONTROL THE STEERING. IT HAPPENED SUDDENLY HITTING THE RAISED CONCERT MEDIAN MY CAR AND I WENT AIRBORNE. INJURY TO MY HEAD, AGGRAVATED NECK CERVICAL, SPINE, HIP AND LEGS. AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY VEHICLE TOTALED. THE ON-STAR FAILED TO OPERATE. THANK GOD FOR DISPATCHING HIS ANGELS AROUND ME. AND THANK GOD FOR ON THE SCENE ANGEL AND ANGELS. STAYED WITH ME AND CALLED FOR HELP. I HAD PAID MY CAR OFF 2 YEARS AGO. THE DEALERSHIP SENT ME A LETTER THAT THEY HAD A BUYER FOR MY VEHICLE. UNBEKNOWN TO THE DEALERSHIP CAR WAS TOTALED. WITH IN THE LAST YEAR I HAVE SEE CHEVROLET CARS AND TRUCKS MANUFACTURED MORE AND MORE DEFECTIVE VEHICLES. FAILURE TO KEEP THE CONSUMERS SAFE IS BAD BUSINESS BASED ON ADVERTISEMENT SAFETY HAZARDS THAT CAUSES PREMATURE DEATH. COMMUNICATION TO THE CONSUMER SAFETY IS JUST AS IMPORTANT INFORMATIONAL TO THE MEDIA ABOUT RECALLS DEFECTS WARNS PROACTIVELY SPEAK VOLUMES ABOUT THE MANUFACTURERS AND THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. I WAS DRIVING DOWN TROY AVE IN ILLINIOS WHEN MY CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN LOST POWER AND SAID ENGINE REDUCE AND AND STEERING WHEEL GOT STIFF. I WENT ALL THE WAY FROM 60 TO 20 MPH AND ALMOST CRASH AND GOT HIT FROM BEHIND. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM NON STOP AFTER FIX AFTER FIX. BUT NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW THE PROBLEM. THEN MY HEAD LIGHT GO IN AND OUT ON THE RIGHT SIDE EVER SINCE I HAD IT FIXED OVER AND OVER.
DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT LOW BEAM KEEPS GOING OUT I HAVE REPLACED THE BULB 5 TIMES AND KEEPS GOING ON AND OFF. SOME DAYS IT WORKS SOME DAYS IT DOESN'T. I HAVE BEEN PULLED OVER FOR THIS A FEW TIMES AND I HAVE TO SHOW OFFICER THE RECEIPTS I HAVE TO PROVE I HAVE TRIED TO FIX MY LIGHT. PLEASE DO A RECALL ON THIS AS I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE.THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED THERE IS OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHT AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE CORRECTLY WHILE IM DRIVING AND IS DISTRACTING TO OTHER VEHICLES AS WELL.
THE CABLE TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT BROKE. EVIDENTLY, OTHER MALIBU'S THIS YEAR HAD A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM. BUT, MY VIN # IS NOT ACCEPTED. CHEVY IS UNWILLING TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH COULD EASILY HAVE BEEN THE OUTCOME IF THIS HAPPENED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN IT CAME COMPLETELY APART.
ECS LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, REDUCED ENGINE POWER, ABS LIGHT, CODE THROWS MAP SENSOR ERROR. HAPPENS AFTER VEHICLE GO THROUGH THE CARWASH OR GET SLUSH AND MOISTURE FROM THE ROAD. MAP SENSOR CONNECTOR SEEMS TO BE CAUSING THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE. VERY DANGEROUS GOING DOWN THE ROAD, HAPPENED SUDDENLY WHILE NOT EXPECTING IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,000.

LAST WEEK TUESDAY(1/22/19), IT HAPPENED AGAIN(REDUCED ENGINE POWER, SERVICE ESC, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT) WHILE DRIVING ON MY WAY TO WORK. I WAS ABOUT 2 MILES FROM HOME SLOWING DOWN FROM 45 MPH TO STOP AT LIGHT , I HAD MY HUSBAND BRING IT IN TO CHECK CODES WHEN DEALERSHIP OPENED. THEY REPLACED ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY AND PUT A NEW PIGTAIL ON THROTTLE BODY. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON SATURDAY (1/26/19)WHEN I WAS 4 MILES FROM HOME ON A CITY STREET AT 45 MPH. I DROVE IT THE LAST TWO MILES TO WORK W/ HAZARD LIGHT ON AND SLOWLY AS I COULD ONLY GET SPEED UP TO 25-30 MPH. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO TURN OFF AND RESTART CAR TO "RESET" TO NORMAL. TODAY THE DEALER IS REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY. THIS WILL BE THE THIRD ONE IN 7 MONTHS AT A COST OF OVER $1000 IN REPAIRS. DEALER WILL NOT LOOK AT ANY OTHER OPTIONS UNTIL IT HAS CLEARED THIS CODE. SEEMS TO ME, THERE MUST BE A WIRE, FUSE OR SOMETHING ELSE ELECTRICAL WRONG THAT KEEPS TRIPPING THIS CODE. I HAVE RECEIPTS OF ALL WORK DONE TO DATE.

THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HAS BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES AND THE CONNECTOR ONCE. THE DRIVERS SIDE LOW BEAM HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE. ALL THIS WITHIN ABOUT 9 MONTHS. NOW, THE PASSENGER SIDE GOES ON AND OFF AND THE DRIVERS SIDE IS OFF. THIS HAS BECOME A NUISANCE. THE FRONT OF THE CAR HAS TO BE REMOVED OR PULLED OUT TO GET TO THE LIGHTS. IT'S TIME CONSUMING AND COSTLY. NOW I HAVE TO SPEND MORE MONEY TO FIX THESE ISSUES AGAIN. IT'S A TERRIBLE SAFETY ISSUE. WHAT IF I AM DRIVING AT NIGHT OR IN INCLINATE WEATHER AND THE LIGHTS GO OUT? PLEASE ADVISE THAT CHEVY ANNOUNCE A RECALL. THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE.

THE CONTACT MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE REPAIRS TO BE PERFORMED AT DAVE GILL CHEVROLET (4700 E BROAD ST, COLUMBUS, OH 43213, (614) 364-4376) ON JANUARY 15, 2019. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST SINCE THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
