REAR WHEELS ARE CRACKED CAUSING VIBRATION AND AIR LEAK.
The first incident happen on 2/27/2019. I was existing the highway on highway 75 in Kennesaw, Georgia going north bound and coming off on Barrett Parkway. As I exited the highway my brakes was stuck and my brakes wouldn't press. I panicked because I was going at least 60 mph trying to slow down to get on the exit with semi trucks in the front and in the back, because I was a little skilled with cars I down shifted my car and stepped on my emergency brakes and ran the car off the road into the grass. I towed the car to my mechanic in Hiram, GA. (Donnie's Automotive) to have him work on the issue as I wasn't sure what was going on. I got my car back on 3/1/2019. Now the next incident happen on 8/16/21 my engine decreased and my car wouldn't accelerate more than 40 mph. Took it to my mechanic again and it was the throttle sensor. Now the most recent incident happen 6/12/21 where my brakes failed to pressed again and bc I was aware of this incident happening in 2019 I did the same thing and ran my car off the road. My kids were scared. Now all these issues have been a issue with Chevy and they even had a class action lawsuit against them for the throttle sensor issue. My car wasn't part of the recall but my car has suffered the same issues they've know about for years. I called Thornton Road chevy and they told me it's nothing they can do. I've also emailed the CEO and all others for CHEVY. I want chevy to repair my car before this car KILLS ME OR MY KIDS.
TWICE I HAVE HAD THE ACCELERATED PEDAL REPLACE, WHICH CAUSE THE ENGINE TO LOSE POWER. I HAVE TAKE THIS IN OVER 13 TIME FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT TO COME. I WAS DRIVING ON 495 AT THE SPEED OF 60 MPH IN 2ND TIME ALMOST WAS HIT FROM BEHIND.
ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR KEEPS MALFUNCTIONING WHILE DRIVING
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN MY CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN AND GAVE THE MESSAGE THAT ENGINE WAS LOOSING POWER. WHEN I MASHED THE ACCELERATOR, THE CAR WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED. I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT. I HAD TO SLOWLY MAKE MY WAY TO AN EXIT RAMP AND STOP THE CAR. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED AFTER A WHILE AND I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TWO MORE TIMES BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL INSTEAD OF ME HAVING TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. I AM DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I THOUGHT CHEVROLET WAS A LITTLE MORE RELIABLE THAN THIS. CHEVROLET REALLY NEED TO INVESTIGATE THIS AND RECALL THIS BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED.
WHILE DRIVING, ENGINE LOSES POWER AND THE CAR SHUTS DOWN. (THIS HAPPENS IN TRAFFIC!)
DRIVING ALONG AND MY 2016 WITH 39,000 MILES LOSES ACCELERATION POWER AND RECEIVE WARNING 'ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED'. I LIMP IT TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND THEY GET IT IN AND I GET A CALL LATER WITH THEM TELLING ME THEY HAVE SEEN THIS IN TWO OTHER CARS AND THEY ARE WAITING ON THE ACCELERATOR THROTTLE PEDAL SENSOR THAT NEEDS REPLACED. THEY RESET AND CLEANED THE SENSOR AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. IT'S HAPPENED THREE OTHER TIMES SINCE THEN AND I LIMP IT BACK TO SHOP EVERY TIME TO GET RESET. I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS ISSUE WITH IT BARELY OUT OF WARRANTY. IT SAYS A LOT OF ONE SHOP TO HAVE THREE MALIBU'S WAITING FOR THIS PART TO BECOME AVAILABLE. I LOVE THE MALIBU'S BUT WITH THE ISSUES WITH THIS CAR I'VE HAD IT'S HARD TO KEEP MY FAITH IN CHEVROLET. THEY KNOW THIS MODEL IS HAVING ISSUES YET HAS NOT RECALLED MY VEHICLE YET AND I'M OUT OF POCKET. I'M A SINGLE MOM THAT NEEDS A RELIABLE CAR.
THE CAR STEEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP WHEN RELEASING THE BRAKE SOMETIMES. THE CAR STEERING WHEEL LOCKS DURING A TURN AND SAYS AUTO STEERING TURNED OFF WHILE BEING LOCKED UP. WHILE DRIVING MY CAR I CAN BE STOPPED AT A LIGHT WHEN I LET GO OF THE BRAKE THE STEERING WHEEL WILL LOCK IN PLACE SOMETIMES TURNING THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIO CONTINUED TO ACTIVATE AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FREQUENTLY. ALSO, THE KEY FOB WAS FAULTY AND WOULD WORK INTERMITTENTLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FINDLAY CHEVROLET (6800 S TORREY PINES DR, LAS VEGAS, NV 89118, (702) 982-4000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW GEAR SHIFT AND GEAR SHIFT ASSEMBLY WERE NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,011.
NOTICED SHAKING IN THE STEERING WHILE DRIVING. HAD ALIGNED 3 TIMES ONCE AT A DIFFERENT SHOP. HAS NEW TIRES. TIRES ARE NOW CUPPED AND WILL WEAR UNEVENLY. STEERING WHEEL STILL SHAKES AND CAR FEELS LIKE IT'S BEING PUSHED FROM SIDE TO SIDE. HEATER CORE IS NOW BAD AND IT'S NOT EVEN 3 YEARS OLD. ALL WINDOWS FOGGED UP INCLUDING FRONT WINDSHIELD AND CAN SMELL COOLANT WHEN THE HEAT IS ON. WINDOWS BEGIN TO FOG UP DRIVING IN TOWN AND THEN COMPLETELY FOG UP HIGHWAY DRIVING.
MY CAR ALL OF SUDDEN ON FREEWAY SNATCHED BACK FROM DOING 65 PLUS TO FREAKING LESS THAN 30 MILES INSTANTLY "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" MESSAGE APPEARS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. IT CONTINUES TO DO THIS EVERYDAY MY CAR WILL NOT DRIVE OVER 30-35 MPH. I HAVE TWO KIDS THIS IS NOT SAFE. I TRAVEL! I TAKE MY CAR TO PENSKE CHEVROLET OF CERRITOS DEALER AND THEY CLAIM ITS A ACCELERATOR PAD SENSOR. PRIOR TO TAKING MY CAR TO DEALER I HAD A CONVERSATION WITH A CO WORKER WHO HAS THE SAME CAR SHE TOLD ME THE ISSUE BEFOREHAND BECAUSE SHE EXPERIENCED IT AND WAS STUCK ON A HIGHWAY!THEY ALSO STATE THAT "EVERY MALIBU IS HAVING THIS ISSUE" AND DUE TO THAT THE ITEM IS ON BACK ORDER. I HAD TO PAY AND STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR LABOR OF THAT ITEM WHICH I DON'T THINK IS FAIR. IT SHOULD BE A RECALL. I FEEL WELL NO IT IS OBVIOUSLY HAZARDOUS AND CHEVY HAS PEOPLE AND KIDS DRIVING IN CARS LIKE THIS ... WHAT IF I GET IN AN ACCIDENT? HOW MANY CARS DOES IT TAKE TO REALIZE THIS ITEM NEEDS TO BE RECALLED? DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE FOR CHEVROLET TO REALIZE THAT THIS NEEDS SERIOUS ATTENTION?

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,874.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S TRUNK WAS FLOODED WITH RAIN WATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHEVROLET OF MONTEBELLO (LOCATED AT 310 W WHITTIER BLVD, MONTEBELLO, CA 90640, (323) 680-5933) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT REAR WINDSHIELD, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS IN THE PROCESS OF REPAIRING THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 95058953731. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,100.
MY CAR STABILITRAK COMES ON EVERY OTHER 20 MINS WHEN DRIVING. IF I TRY TO ACCELERATE MY CARS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THEN SAY ENGINE POWER REDUCED ALMOST STOPPING MY VEHICLE ON THE INTERSTATE I CAN ONLY DRIVE IT IN TOWN UNDER 40 MPH. DIAGNOSTIC SHOWED NOTHING AND OF COURSE NO RECALLS BUT EVERY RECALL CHEVY HAS WITH THE MALIBU FITS MY MODEL. VERY DISAPPOINTING. IT HAS BECOME VERY DANGEROUS. TODAY I WAS HEADED TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER FROM DAYCARE AND MY BRAKE PEDAL BECAME VERY STIFF AND I COULD NOT STOP CAUSING ME TO ROLL THROUGH AN INTERSECTION THANKFULLY IT WAS A GREEN LIGHT AND LET THE CAR ROLL UNTIL IT STOPPED. I WAS TERRIFIED. I HAVE NOT HAD THE CAR LONG AND IT IS A HEADACHE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TITUS-WILL CHEVROLET (11011 PACIFIC AVE S, TACOMA, WA 98444, (253) 539-1000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
ENGINE REDUCED LIGHT
ENGINE LIGHT COME ON FOR SEVERAL DIFFERENT REASONS APPEARS TO SENSOR ERRORS . STATE BACK DOOR UNLOCKED AND ALSO REDUCE POWER TO VEHICLE AS YOUR ARE DRIVING VERY UNSAFE. HAS HAD SENIOR REPLACED DUE TO ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON AND STATING BACK DOOR UNLOCKED. ALSO REPROGRAMMED 3C DUE TO ERROR CODES.
'TAMARA RECALL' I WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A WARNING SAID 'ENGINE POWER LOSS' AND MY CAR SLOWED DOWN TO 40MPH, I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY, SPEED LIMIT OF 65, I ALSO GOT AND EMAIL SAYING THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEM, I TOOK IT IN TO BE LOOKED AT,2 CODES PIPED UP SAYING P1101 WHICH IS THE THROTTLE BODY AND P2318 WHICH IS (APP) GAS PEDAL, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS TURNED OFF, IT DIDN'T COME BACK ON FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, THEN IT TURNED BACK ON, BY THE NEXT MORNING IT WENT OFF BY ITSELF! I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE RECALL
I OWN A 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU WITH 34K MILES. WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK I RECEIVE A MESAGE TO SHIFT TO PARK WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. THE SHIFTER NEEDS TO BE SHIFTED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE MESSAGE GOES AWAY AND I ABLE TO TURN OFF THE CAR. THIS HAS BECAME A HAZARD BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WON'T FULLY TURN OFF. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL. THE WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER THIS DEFECTIVE AND I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. PLEASE HAVE GM ISSUE A RECALL.
THE RADIO HAS NO SOUND AND IS A COMMON PROBLEM SINCE THE 2010 MODEL. GM OR CHEVY IS DOING NOTHING TO HELP CUSTOMERS FIX THE ISSUE OR TRAIN THEIR SERVICE TEAMS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD MY 2016 FOR ALMOST 9 MONTHS WITH 3 OF THOSE MONTHS IN RADIO SILENCE, NO ANSWER, AND NO COMPENSATION

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HALEY CHEVROLET (12400 TENNESSEE PLAZA, MIDLOTHIAN, VA 23112, (804) 818-7660) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER TRAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. *BF *JB
I WAS DRIVING NORTHBOUND ON I-435 WHEN AVOIDING AN ACCIDENT. I PRESSED MY BRAKE AS HARD AS I COULD. MY VEHICLE DID NOT STOP SO TO AVOID CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT I WENT OFF ROAD IN THE CENTER OF THE TWO HIGHWAYS. AFTER HITTING THE GUARDRAIL TO STOP MY VEHICLE FROM FALLING INBETWEEN THE OVERPASS. MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY . I FEEL SOME CONCERN AFTER HAVING MY BREAKS CHECKED AND TOLD THEY WERE GOOD. THEN IF I'M AT STOP AND I RELEASE THE BREAK FOR MY CAR TO START BACK UP. I GIVE IT A SECOND AND THEN PRESS THE PEDDLE IT DOES NOT MOVE WHICH HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HOLD UP TRAFFIC OR ALMOST BEING HIT WHEN VEHICLES WERE AT SAFE DISTANCES.
13 MONTHS AGO I BEGAN HAVING ACCELERATOR SENSOR ISSUES. DRIVING 40+ MPH AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, "ENGINE REDUCED POWER", "STABILITRAK" CAME ON MY HUD. MY FATHER HAS A 2017 MALIBU AND THIS HAD JUST HAPPENED TO HIM, SO I KNEW TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON, BUT THE LIGHT STAYED ON AND THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE PAST 40MPH AND TOOK FOREVER TO GET UP TO SPEED. TOOK IT IN AND THEY "FIXED" IT. I HAD TO HAVE IT FIXED 3 TIMES IN 3 MONTHS. ALL SIMILAR SITUATIONS, DRIVING 45+ MPH. MY TOUCH SCREEN RADIO ALSO WENT OUT, AND HAD TO GET A NEW HEAD UNIT. STILL TO THIS DAY ONLY ONE OF THE USB SLOTS WORKS. SUMMER GOES ON, NO ISSUES. OCTOBER TIME FRAME, MY CAR SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING 60 MPH FOR A SPLIT SECOND. HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT, RADIO, SPEEDOMETER, ALL OF IT AT 5AM. IT CAME BACK ON WITHIN 2 SECONDS AND THE CAR WAS FINE. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANYTHING. HAD A BUDDY OF MINE RUN A CODE CHECK AND NOTHING SHOWED UP. A MONTH LATER I HAD ANOTHER ACCELERATOR SENSOR ISSUE, DRIVING 60+ MPH. HAD TO DRIVE ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD UNTIL I COULD GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. TOOK IT IN AND GOT IT FIXED FOR FREE SINCE THERE WAS A RECALL. 2 MONTHS GO BY, WE'RE IN JANUARY 2020 NOW, DRIVING 60+ AND MY CAR SHOWS "STABILITRAK" AND HAD THE SAME SYMPTOMS OF THE PREVIOUS LOW POWER, AND NOT ACCELERATING. TURNS OUT TO BE THE AIR CHARGE COOLER. NOT A WEEK LATER AFTER GETTING IT BACK, DRIVING 70+ MPH AND MY CAR LOSES POWER. HAD TO TOW IT SINCE I WAS IN A DIFFERENT STATE. CYLINDER 1 HAS LOW PRESSURE AND THE CHARGE AIR COOLER IS FLOODED WITH DEBRIS. AND NOW CHEVY IS TELLING ME I HAVE TO PAY FOR A NEW ENGINE!! WTF?
TAKATA RECALL" MY CAR HAS A PLOBLEMS WITH THE SHIFT PARKING, ONES I PUT IN PARKING AND TURN OFF THE CAR THE CAR SAID SHIFT PARKING AND THE KEY STAY OPEN. AND I CAN'T LOCK THE CAR, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT HAPPEN TO MY CAR I CHANGE IN 10/2017 THAT'S IMPOSIBLE THAT HAPPEN AGAIN.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND A MESSAGE PIPED UP ON MY DASH SAYING MY CAR WAS LOSING POWER. I TRIED TO PRESS THE GAS, MY MY SPEED DECREASED. I PULL OVER TO THE SIDE AND SHUT MY CAR OFF FOR A WHILE, CRUNK IT BACK UP AND IT DROVE NORMAL. 5 MINUTES LATER AND IT DID THE SAME THING.
THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR HAS GONE BAD ON MY 2016 MALIBU IT HAS TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM BECAUSE THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF VIDEOS OF PEOPLE SHOWING HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND INSTALLING A NEW TPS AND PEDAL.
AT CRUISING SPEED ON THE FREEWAY, APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CAR JERKED AND LOST A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF POWER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE WARNING "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED" DISPLAYED ON THE INFORMATION PANEL. THE CAR CONTINUED TO LOSE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF POWER UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF A SEPARATED TOLL LANE AND TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE. AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR, IT WAS ABLE TO AGAIN GAIN POWER. OVER SEVERAL DAYS, THE CAR WOULD GO IN AND OUT OF THIS MODE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF AND ON MULTIPLE TIMES, IT AGAIN LOST POWER ON THE FREEWAY, LOST SIGNIFICANT POWER WHILE DRIVING UP HILLS (DROPPING FROM A SPEED OF 55 MPH TO BELOW 20 MPH WITHIN A MINUTE). CARS BEHIND MY CAR HAD TO MOVE OUT FROM BEHIND ME AND I HAD TO PULL IN TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS TO LET OTHER CARS PASS ME AS I WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN A LEGAL SPEED. THIS PROBLEM WAS ASSESSED BY QUIRK CHEVROLET AND DETERMINED TO BE CAUSED BY THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR IN THE GAS PEDAL AND THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE. QUIRK IDENTIFIED THAT THESE COMPONENTS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY (DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY ARE NECESSARY COMPONENTS IN THE POWERTRAIN) AND THAT THE TOTAL COST TO REPLACE THESE WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $520 PLUS THE COST OF A RENTAL CAR. THEY ALSO WERE NOT ABLE TO LOCATE AN AVAILABLE GAS PEDAL/THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR ASSEMBLY BY THE END OF THE BUSINESS DAY AND WERE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY A TIMEFRAME FOR THE LENGTH OF TIME THIS WOULD TAKE TO COMPLETE BECAUSE OF THIS MISSING PART. THEY ALSO IDENTIFIED THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO RESET THE ECM UNTIL THIS SENSOR ASSEMBLY WAS COMPLETED.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY I RECEIVED A DASH NOTICE OF REDUCED POWER. I WENT FROM 70 TO 20 IN A MATTER OF MINUTES AND COULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 20 MPH. I WAS ABLE TO EXIT AND DRIVE TO MY DEALER SHIP STEVE RAYMOND CHEVROLET IN SMYRNA GA. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENOR UNIT THAT HAD FAILED. NOW I SEE THERE ARE COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND GM IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT, IT IS A $400 REPAIR. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS WELL. MAKE GM RECALL THIS PART!! THANKS
STABILITRAK CODE APPEARS ON DASHBOARD - CAUSING LOW OR NO ACCELERATION, SHAKING WHEN STILL AND WHILE IN PARK. METER READS AS A 'MISFIRE CODE'; TOTAL TUNE UP WAS CONDUCTED (REPLACED ALL PLUGS & WIRING/COIL PACK); WAS STABLE FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS AND THEN 'STABILITRAK' CODE REAPPEARED WITH CAR SHAKING AGAIN.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE ENGINE POWER REDUCED WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED BUT FAILED TO ACCELERATE ABOVE 30-35 MPH. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE VIVA CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 5915 MONTANA AVE, EL PASO, TX 79925, WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED AN UNKNOWN COMPUTER FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.
SHIFT TO PARK ISSUE. VEHICLE IS CLEARLY IN PARK BUT MESSAGE ON MESSAGE BOARD INFORMS ME "VEHICLE IS NOT IN PARK." HAVE TO WIGGLE/MESS WITH SHIFTER IN ORDER TO GET THE MESSAGE TO DISAPPEAR. OTHERWISE VEHICLE WILL NOT TURN OFF. DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED... COMMON PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY CHEVY.
I KEEP HAVING A SERVICE AIRBAG MESSAGE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT'S THE STEERING AIRBAG. TO FIX IT IS $481. IT'S NOT FAIR TO PAY THIS WHEN I GOT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING TO THE CAR TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL DO TO A MANUFACTURER ERROR.
I HAVE A 2016 CHEVY MALIBU. AS I WAS DRIVING MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN A MESSAGE SAYING THAT MY ENGINE POWER HAS BEEN REDUCED. I TOOK MY CAR TO A NEAR BY CHEVROLET SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY SAID THAT THE ISSUE WAS A FAILED ACCELERATOR PEDAL ALONE WITH SOME FAILED SENSORS. I SAW SEVERAL REVIEWS WITH A SIMILAR PROBLEM IF NOT THE SAME. I WAS VERY SHOCKED TO SEE THAT THERE WAS NOT A RECALL TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE. I BROUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND EVERY SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN HAVING NOTHING BUT ISSUES. I CALLED GM AND THEY OPENED A TICKET, SO HOPEFULLY I GET SOME FEEDBACK SAYING THAT IT IS SOMETHING THEY ARE RECALLING TO CORRECT THE ISSUE.. UNTIL THEN I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR A RENTAL. IF THEY DO NOT RECALL IT THEN I WILL BE PAYING OVER $1200 FOR REPAIRS.
I AM HAVING AN ISSUE WITH MY CAR AND THE CODE IS P2138. THIS IS AN ACCELERATOR ISSUE AND WHEN THE ISSUE COMES ABOUT, THE CAR ENGINE REDUCES AND MY CAR WILL NOT GO OVER 20 MPH. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THE PART AND IT IS ON BACK ORDER. THIS IS TRULY A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL VERSUS ME HAVING TO PAY FOR THIS AND THE PART SHOULD BE AVAILABLE AS THIS IS DANGEROUS. IF I AM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THIS HAPPENS, I MYSELF OR OTHERS COULD GET SERIOUSLY HURT IF NOT KILLED. THIS IS HAPPENING TO ME SEVERAL TIMES A DAY AND I NEED MY VEHICLE AND AM SCARED TO KEEP DRIVING IT WITHOUT IT BEING FIXED. OF COURSE, MY VEHICLE IS OVER MILEAGE WARRANTY, THEREFORE I NEED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO FIX THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE CAR IS IN MOTION AND THERE IS NO WARNING SIGN THAT THE CAR IS GOING TO REV DOWN TO 20 MPH. CHEVROLET SAID THERE IS NO RECALL AND THE ONLY WAY THEY COULD EVEN CONSIDER REIMBURSEMENT OF ANY KIND WOULD BE TO HAVE THE CAR DIAGNOSED AT THE DEALERSHIP (WHICH IS $115 TO DIAGNOSE). THE CAR WAS DIAGNOSED BY A LICENSED MECHANIC, THEREFORE IT SHOULD NOT MATTER WHERE IT IS DIAGNOSED.
I WAS DRIVING 35MPH, AND SUDDENLY THE CAR LOST POWER, AND I WAS GOING 10 MPH. A MESSAGE CAME ON SAYING REDUCED POWER. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE CAR, RED LION CHEVY. THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR, AND TOLD ME I BETTER GET THE CAR OFF THE LOT. I WAS SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR AS IF I WAS ON A HIGHWAY, I COULD HAVE BEEN RUN OVER BY A TRUCK. I ALREADY HAD A CRACKED PISTON REPAIRED AND THE CAR NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. ON STAR SENT ME AN EMAIL STATING THAT I HAVE AN ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND TO GET THE CAR SERVICED.THE SALES MANAGER RIVERA JUST WANTED TO SELL ME A NEW CAR, AND THEY WOULDN'T DO ANY FURTHER TESTING ON MY VEHICLE.
COMING OFF THE HWY MY VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN FROM 55 MPH TO ABOUT 40 MPH FAIRLY FAST THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TRIED PRESSING ON THE PEDALS BUT VEHICLE WAS NOT SPEEDING UP AT ALL. THE TRACTION LIGHT ALSO CAME UP. TOOK IT TO CHEVY DEALER RIGHT AWAY AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE ACCELERATOR SENSOR NOT COMMUNICATING WITH THE SYSTEM. TOOK ABOUT A WEEK TO GET MY CAR BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, CODE GIVEN IS P1101 INTAKE AIR FLOW SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST FAILED SINCE DTC CLEAR, HISTORY DTC, TEST NOT PASSED SINCE POWER UP, WARNING INDICATOR REQUESTED. CAR RUNS FINE FOR NOW, CODE RESET AND REACTIVATED HOUR OR SO LATER. REMOTE START DOES NOT WORK.
WHEN PLACING THE CAR IN THE PARK POSITION AN ERROR MESSAGE APPEARS AFTER TURNING OFF THE IGNITION 'SHIFT TO PARK'. YOU WILL HAVE TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON AND MAKE SURE THAT YOUR FOOT IS ON THE BRAKE JUST IN CASE IT ROLLS. THEN SHIFT THE CAR INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE IN TO SHIFT IT BACK TO THE PARK POSITION. THIS HAS TO BE DONE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WILL CORRECTLY IDENTIFY THAT IT IS IN THE PARK POSITION.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY TAKEN TO VYLETEL BUICK GMC DEALER, (40755 VAN DYKE AVE, STERLING HEIGHTS, MI 48313, (586) 722-0607) AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC SENSOR DEALING WITH THE THROTTLE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
ON A HIGHWAY IN MOTION WHEN THE CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 40 MPH. THE MOTOR STARTED TO MAKE A LOUD NOISE. THERE WAS NO POWER WHEN PUSHING ON THE PEDDLE. THIS HAS HAPPEN TO ME ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARS AND STAYS ON FOR TWO DAYS BEFORE GOING BACK OFF. THE CAR GOES BACK TO NORMAL AFTER BEING PARKED AND SITS FOR ABOUT 3 HOURS.

THE CAR IMMEDIATELY REDUCED ITS SPEED AND ALLOWED ME TO DRIVE ABOUT 20MPH (I WAS SO THANKFUL I WAS NOT ON THE HIGHWAY AND/OR HAD PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE). IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW, WITH THE EXPLANATION THAT THE ACCELERATOR CIRCUIT BOARD NEEDS TO BE REPLACED; HOWEVER IT IS ON BACK ORDER AND THEY ARE NOT CERTAIN WHEN THE PART WILL BECOME AVAILABLE. SO I AM NOT EVEN SURE HOW TO PLAN MOVING FORWARD ON A VEHICLE THAT HAS A CAR-NOTE BUT I CANNOT REPAIR BECAUSE THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. FROM READING THE COMPLAINTS THIS PART IS ON A NATIONAL BACKORDER.

MY CAR THEN DROPPED SPEED TO ABOUT 40 MPH. I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE THE REST OF MY ROUTE TO WORK. I TOPPED AT 20 MPH. I CHECKED MY CODE READER AND P2138 CAME UP.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, GOING 74, ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD WENT ON (REGULAR LIGHTS, WARNING LIGHTS, EVERYTHING) IT LASTED ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS AND THEN WENT BACK TO NORMAL. DROVE ANOTHER TWO MILES REGAINING SPEED TO 74 AND HEADLIGHTS WENTOUT, ALL LIGHTS IN THE INSIDE (DASHBOARD, RADIO, CLIMATE CONTROL), AND I HAD NO POWER AND QUICKLY DROPPED SPEED. THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, IN 5:00 RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND I TURNED THE KEY OFF. I WAITED A COUPLE MINUTES AND THE CAR DID STARTUP AND I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK THE BACK WAY HOME SO I WOULDN'T BE ON THE HIGHWAY. I CALLED THE CAR DEALERSHIP AND BROUGHT IT IN THE NEXT DAY. THEY SAID THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF THIS AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUE AND DIAGNOSTICS DIDN'T SHOW ANYTHING. I HAVE SEEN A FEW OTHER POST ON THE INTERNET WITH THIS HAPPENING ON OTHER MALIBU CARS. THE DEALERSHIP IS ALLOWING US TO "EXCHANGE" (FOR A FEE) TO GET A DIFFERENT CAR SINCE WE JUST PURCHASED THIS ONE A MONTH AGO. HOPE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN TO SOMEBODY ELSE WITH THIS CAR.
