HI, I LEASED A 2016 CHEVY MALIBU. WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, MY ENGINE POWER SUDDENLY LOWERED AND A NOTIFICATION POPPED UP SAYING THE SAME. THE RPM INCREASED TO 5+ SINCE I WAS TRYING TO TAKE EXIT AND THE CAR WAS LOSING CONTROL. I EVENTUALLY GOT TO GM SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE THROTTLE SENSOR GOT BAD WHICH WOULD COST $150+ TO REPLACE. HOWEVER I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT SINCE THEN AND ONCE A MONTH THE SAME NOTIFICATION POPS UP AND LOWERS MY ENGINE POWER UNTIL I TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON. EACH TIME I DO THIS, I HAVE TO SUDDENLY STOP MY CAR ON THE SHOULDER. THE SENSOR IS NOT BAD, THE CAR JUST SENSES THAT THE SENSOR IS BAD AND REDUCES POWER. THIS SEEMS LIKE A SCAM WHERE GM WANTS TO MAKE MORE MONEY. MOREOVER, I'VE READ HUNDREDS OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS WHERE PEOPLE DESCRIBE HOW THEY ALMOST LOST CONTROL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY BECAUSE OF THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A CONCERNING SAFETY ISSUE AND GM SHOULD FIX THIS AS A RECALL. I WANT GM TO ACCEPT THAT THEY INSTALLED A DEFECTIVE PART AND WILL FIX IT. THANKS. WHEN PUTTING MY CAR IN PARK, NOT EVERY SINGLE TIME BUT, THE CAR IS COMPLETELY STOPPED AND DASHBOARD SAYS P (FOR PARK), WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF AN ERROR POPS UP STATING CAR NEEDS TO BE SHIFTED INTO PARK TO TURN OFF.
I HAD MY CHEVY MALIBU 2016 FOR 1 YEAR AND A PISTON IN MY ENGINE BROKE. I WAS ALSO GETTING AN OIL CHANGE EVERY 10 DAYS. THE DAY I PURCHASED THIS CAR MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND EVERY OTHER MONTH AFTER THAT I WOULD GET A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS FOR DIFFERENT REASONS.
I HAVE TAKEN MY 2016 MALIBU PREMIER 2.0 TURBO TO THE DEALERSHIP FOUR TIMES NOW FOR THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE PARK ASSIST SENSORS GOING OUT. NOW, THEY ARE OUT AGAIN, AND THE DEALERSHIP WANTS ME TO PAY A $250 DEDUCTIBLE FOR MY EXTENDED WARRANTY TO COVER THE REPAIRS. I AM NOT AGREEING WITH THIS BECAUSE THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME I HAVE HAD MY CAR IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR OF THIS SAME COMPONENT. NOW THE SERVICE ADVISOR HAS CONTACTED ME SAYING THE ENTIRE MODULE HAS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A SHORT IN THE SYSTEM ITSELF. I PURCHASED THE CAR SEPT. 21, 2016, IT SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN SO SOON, NOW I HAVE TO PAY A DEDUCTIBLE FOR THE SAME WORK TO THE DONE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED PROPERLY THE FIRST TIME I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR THIS REPAIR, INSTEAD OF A SIMPLE SYSTEM UPDATE. THESE PARK ASSIST SENSOR ALERTS WHEN SOMEONE IS WALKING IN FRONT OR BEHIND THE VEHICLE, AS WELL AS ANOTHER VEHICLE BEING IN A 'BLIND SPOT". THE ALERT IS ESPECIALLY HELPFUL AT NIGHT , WHEN IN AN AREA WITH PEDESTRIANS AND SMALL CHILDREN, AND BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPOTS.
WHEN CAR IS PUT IN PARK, AN ERROR "SHIFT TO PARK" APPEARS ON THE DASH. THE CAR WILL NOT TURN OFF. IT TAKES MULTIPLE TRIES TO GET THE CAR TO REGISTER THAT THE GEAR IS PUT INTO PARK.
JUST OVER 37000 MILES, CAR STARTS RUNNING FUNNY, ALOT OF VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL. I GET OUT OF THE CAR ONE DAY, I LEAVE IT RUNNING, I GET BACK IN JUST A MINUTE AND A HALF LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT IS FLASHING ALONG WITH THE STABILITRACK LIGHT AND THE CAR IS REALLY RUNNING ROUGH AND STEAM OR SMOKE IS COMING FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY A COUPLE HUNDERED DOLLARS FOR DIAGNOSIS. I CALL BACK THE NEXT DAY THEY TELL ME ENGINE COMPRESSION IS LOW AND CHANCES ARE IT'S A CRACKED PISTON RING. I ASKED WHAT COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE THAT IN A 2016, NOT EVEN A TWO YEAR OLD CAR? I WAS TOLD THAT THESE PARTS WEAR, I MEAN IF I COULD TELL YOU WHY IT'S HAPPENING OR WHAT THE CAUSE WAS THERE WOULD NEVER BE ANY PROBLEMS, JUST BE GLAD IT'S COVERED UNDER YOUR POWERTAIN WARRANTY. I'VE DRIVEN CHEVYS FOR TWENTY YEARS AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS LIKE THIS, AT THE MOST SERIOUS PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN THE WATER PUMP. I'VE GONE ONLINE SINCE TO SEARCH FOR INFO ON THIS EXACT PROBLEM AND THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A RECALL TO ME CHEVROLET, GM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOB BELL CHEVROLET (1 KANE ST, BALTIMORE, MD 21224, (443) 407-1778) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE POWER SEAT WIRING WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,114.
MY VEHICLE HAS A RECALL 17019-STOCHASTIC PRE-IGNITION (SPI) . MY VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED ON OR ABOUT 07/02/18 AT GUARANTEE CHEVROLET IN THE CITY OF SANTANA, CA MY VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO ME ON OR ABOUT 07/03/18. THIS CONDITION HAS DAMAGED MY ENGINE/MOTOR WHICH IS IN FACT A RESULT FROM THE SPI CONDITION, THE DEALER IS REFUSING TO REPAIR THE DAMAGES FROM THIS NARRATIVE. I WOULD LIKE FOR THE GWM SYSTEM TO BE LIABLE FOR ALL REPAIRS PERTAINING TO 17019-SPI RECALL.
WHEN I SHIFT MY CAR INTO PARK & TURN MY CAR OFF, I GET A WARNING LIGHT THAT SAYS 'SHIFT TO PARK' WHICH HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME I GO TO TURN MY CAR OFF. VERY RECENTLY MY CAR IS ALSO TURNING ON THE BACKUP CAMERA WHEN SHIFTING TO DRIVE. THE SHIFT TO PARK ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A MONTH NOW BUT THE BACKUP CAMERA COMING ON HAD JUST STARTED 4 DAYS AGO. THE DAY I BOUGHT MY CAR IT WAS BRAND NEW BUT COULD NOT BRING IT HOME THE DAY I SIGNED THE PAPERWORK BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO REPLACE THE BODY MODULE. NOW, AFTER MY CAR BEING IN THE SHOP 9 TIMES IN 2 YEARS, THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME I'M RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS. NOTE: MY CAR IS PUSH STOP NOT KEY
WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET HEADED HOME THE ENGINE SIGN LIGHT CAME ON THE DASHBOARD WITH A MESSAGE TRAKSTABIL WARNING. THE ENGINE LOST POWER BUT NOT COMPLETELY. STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE AND OPENED THE HOOD, NOTHING APPEARED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. DROVE HOME AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE VEHICLE CHECKED AT FIRESTONE. FIRESTONE INFORMED US THAT ONE OF THE ENGINE PISTON HAD BLOWN. THEY ADVISED THAT I TAKE IT TO A GM/CHEVY DEALER AS THE VEHICLE HAS BARELY 40K MILES AND SHOULD BE UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT FREMONT CHEVROLET, FREMONT, CA. THE VEHICLE WAS DELIVERED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON JULY 2, 2018. FIRST THEY INFORMED US THAT IT SHOULD BE COVERED SINCE IT HAS A BLOWN ENGINE PISTON. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY TELL US THAT THEY ARE STILL LOOKING INTO IT.
MY MALIBU ALL OF SUDDEN STARTED SENDING A MESSAGE WHEN I GO TO TURN THE CAR OFF THAT MY CAR NEEDS TO SHIFT TO PARK. I HAVE THE CAR IN PARK, BUT IT IS NOT REGISTERING IT IS IN PARK. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME, IT HAPPENS 90% OF THE TIME WHEN I GO TO TURN THE CAR OFF.
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS LOCKING, UNLOCKING, AND TURNING ON MY CAR. WHEN THE CAR FINALLY GETS TURNED ON IT WILL SAY THAT THE KEYS ARE NOT DETECTED. OR WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE IT WILL TELL ME TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN TURN IT BACK ON. TAKATA RECALL - ABOUT ONCE A MONTH WHEN I TURN MY CAR ON, A LOUD BUZZING NOISE COMES ON FOR AROUND 30 SECONDS.
LEAK THROUGH 3RD BREAK LIGHT CAUSES MOISTURE TO BUILD UP IN CAR AND ONCE IT RAINS THE FRONT WINDSHIELD FOGS UP AND CAN YOU CAN NOT SEE DEFROST CANNOT FIX THIS ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE BUILD UP OF MOISTURE FROM THE LEAK IN THROUGH THE 3RD BRAKE LIGHT
CAR WAS LEAKING FLUID AND WHEN DRIVING CAR HAD NO ACCELERATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE "REDUCE SPEED" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE'S SPEED WAS REDUCED TO 40 MPH. SIMULTANEOUSLY, A BELL CHIMED AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 40 MPH. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S DOORS LOCKED AND UNLOCKED ON THEIR OWN ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. RYDELL CHEVROLET IN NORTH RIDGE, CALIFORNIA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE ENGINE AT 5,000 MILES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. SANTA PAULA CHEVROLET IN SANTA PAULA, CALIFORNIA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. ONSTAR WAS CONTACTED AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION THROTTLE FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,000.
THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE BEING IN PARK. WHEN THE SHIFTER IS MOVED INTO THE PARK POSITION, IT LATCHES INTO POSITION PROPERLY, BUT SOMETHING ELECTRONICALLY DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THAT IT IS IN PARK, SO WHEN YOU PUSH THE START BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE CAR, IT WILL SHUT OFF THE ENGINE BUT DISPLAY A WARNING 'PLEASE PUT VEHICLE IN PARK". SINCE IT DOESN'T KNOW IT IS IN PARK, IT WILL NOT FULLY TURN OFF. IT WILL STAY IN ACCESSORY MODE, THUS KEEPING ON THE LIGHTS, THE RADIO, ETC, AND IT WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO LOCK THE DOORS. JIGGLING THE SIFTER, ROCKING THE CAR, RESTARTING AND TURNING OFF AGAIN, TAKING IN AND OUT OF PARK, ALL DID NOTHING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY RISK FOR THEFT AS IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT SECURED SINCE THE LIGHTS AND RADIO ARE STILL ON. YOU ALSO CAN'T KEEP ANY VALUABLES IN THE CAR SINCE IT CAN'T BE LOCKED. WHEN THIS ISSUE FIRST HAPPENS IT IS VERY INTERMITTENT, SO THEY DEALER CAN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE SO THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT. ONCE IT HAPPENS REGULARLY THEY CAN FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT IT SEEMS GM DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THE ISSUE, SO THEY FORCE YOU TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY FOR $700. IT TURNS OUT THIS ISSUE IS VERY COMMON IN NEWER MALIBUS. IT IS ONE OF THE MOST-DISCUSSED FORUM POSTS ON THE MALIBU FORUMS WEBSITE. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AND BE COVERED AT NO CHARGE FROM GM SINCE NO ONE EXPECTS TO BUY A VEHICLE THAT CANNOT BE LOCKED AND DOESN'T TURN OFF FROM ACCESSORY MODE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED WATER ACCUMULATION IN THE BACK SEAT AND DRIPPING FROM THE CEILING. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO SANDY SANSING CHEVROLET (6200 PENSACOLA BOULEVARD, PENSACOLA, FLORIDA 32505) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT ON THE REAR WINDSHIELD WAS ALLOWING WATER TO ENTER THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER ALSO FOUND THAT THE ANTENNA WAS LEAKING. THE ANTENNA WAS REPAIRED BUT, A WEEK LATER, A MILDEW ODOR DEVELOPED, EMERGING FROM THE TRUNK AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER, BUT THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT BECAUSE THEY HAD ALREADY REPAIRED THE ANTENNA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
THE BRAKE PEDAL SQUEAKS WHENEVER I STEP IT, AS A 2016 CAR. THIS PROBLEM REALLY SHOULD NOT OCCUR. ALSO, I RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. MANY CHEVY USERS, INDEED MALIBU USERS REPORTED THIS PROBLEMS ONLINE.

IN FEBRUARY 2016 I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP OF PURCHASE THE NIGHT BEFORE I WAS DRIVING ON A PUBLIC STREET I CAME TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I RELEASED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDDLE AS THE CAR BEGAN TO MOVE FORWARD THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD BEGAN FLUTTERING THE CAR THEN CUTS OFF A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD READ INSTA LINK STEERING ASSIST REDUCED DRIVE CAREFULLY ALSO THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ON AFTER GETTING THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND THE ALLEGED PROBLEM BEING FIXED TWO WEEKS LATER THE SAME PROBLEM TOOK CAR BACK DEALERSHIP STATED THEIR IS NOTHING WRONG THEY CLEARED THE CODES THE STOP ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER SAME PROBLEM AGAIN THEY STATED AGAIN NOTHINGS WRONG NOW HERE I AM AGAIN FOR THE FIFTH TIME SAME PROBLEM NOW THAT MY WARRANTY IS DONE THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME 700 TO 1000 DOLLARS TO FIX THE PROBLEM I IMMEDIATELY CALLED GM THEY HAVE ALLEGEDLY RESOLVED THE PROBLEM I HAVEN'T GOT THE CAR BACK YET THEY SAY MAYBE TOMORROW
LETTER FROM CONSTITUENT REGARDING ISSUES WITH HIS 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU LX AND FEELING LIKE HE IS BEING PENALIZED FOR THE LAST 10 MONTHS ON THE MALIBU AND IS SEEKING HELP TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *LD *TR
When the vehicle is shifted (manual transmission) from any gear into park, and the vehicle is turned off, the "Shift into Park" warning appears. I verified it was in the park. Warning stays on from 1-5 minutes, leaving all outside marker and headlights on until the sensor engages and the vehicle returns to proper state (outside marker and headlights shut off and interior dome light turns on for exiting the vehicle. This occurs each time the vehicle is driven, and the malfunction has caused a reduced battery power (eventually replacement) and outside light replacement from unnecessary use. Losing battery power has left us stranded, and the loss of outside lighting reduces our visibility for other drivers to see the vehicle. Upon research, this has been reported and reproduced numerous times to the manufacturer, dealers, and NHTSA with no solutions reached except charging the customer to repair the issue (this is unacceptable). There were no warnings and the symptoms started approximately 2-3 years after purchased in 2016 and still continue (brand new car).
My 2016 Chevy Malibu Premier continues to show a “Shift to Park" message” even when I put the car in park! When this “Shift to Park" Message” is on, I cannot turn off the vehicle. In order for the message to go off, I have to either back up, or pull the car forward a little in order to make the message goes off. This is starting to happen daily with this car. This is very frustrating.
DRIVING HOME, TURNED OFF HIGHWAY, CAR STOPPED A FEW FEET ONTO SIDE ROAD--NO BRAKES, STEERING, NOTHING. THE ICON FOR THE CHECK ENGINE CAME ON AND STAYED ON.(MANUAL SAYS IT IS THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP.) TURNED CAR OFF AND TRIED TO RESTART TO PUT CAR IN DRIVE. NO LUCK.; CALLED FOR A TOW. WAITED ALMOST 2 HOURS. TOWED HOME. THIS WAS IN THE EVENING. PRESENTLY WAITING FOR ANOTHER TOW TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP, THE FOLLOWING DAY IN THE AFTERNOON.
2016 MALIBU 1.5 LITER ENGINE HAD RECALL FOR IGNITING TIMING CAUSES CRACKED PISTONS...7000 MILES THEY UPDATED THIS PROBLEM, BUT WAS TO LATE BY THEN AT 28000 MILES NEEDED ALL NEW PISTONS RODS BEARINGS REBUILT THE ENGINE TOP HALF, BUT NOW 2 TIMES IN 2 MONTHS RETURNED TO DEALER

I HAVE A 2016 MALIBU THAT BACK WINDOW HAS BEEN LEAKING ( POURING) WATER THRU. RAIN AND CAN'T EVEN GET A CARWASH, WHICH, DEALERSHIP GAVE ME A CARE WASH KNOWING THAT THERE ARE WATER STAINS DUE TO THIS PROBLEM.WHEN I FIRST NOTICED THIS DEALERSHIP SAID I HAD TO PAY FOR THIS PROB A COUPLE MONTHS LATER HAD RECEIVED A LETTER OF A RECALL ABOUT THIS BUT DEALERSHIP SAID I WAS OVER MILES AND WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS SERVICE.,? IF IT IS A RECALL.... WHY?

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN CHEVROLET DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL WIRE HARNESS WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE 3RD BREAK LIGHT (ABOVE REAR WINDSHEILD) IS LEAKING INTO MY VEHICLE AND TRUNK. THIS IS A HAZARD FOR ELECTRICAL FAILURE TO THE BREAK LIGHT, AS WELL AS THE GROWTH OF MOLD AND OR RUST IN THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS THE TRUNK AND SPARE TIRE. DURING RAIN THE PASSENGERS BECOME SOAKED WITH WATER.
I COULD BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND IT'LL SAY ENGINE POWER REDUCED. IF I PRESS THE GAS, IT'LL SLOW DOWN. WHEN I PUT MY CAR IN PARK, AND TURN IT OFF IT'LL SAY SHIFT TO PARK.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 8-3961924193. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.

MY CAR HAD A RECALL AND I TOOK IT IN AND NOW MY CYLINDER 2 IS MESSED UP ON A PISTON AND IOOKED INTO REVIEWS AND IT SAYS EVEN IF THE RECALL GOT FIXED IT MESSED THE PISTON.
WHEN STARTING TO PROGRESS FROM A STOP, THE MALIBU WILL NOT ACCELERATE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, AND THEN WHEN IT DOES GO IT, SURGES FORWARD. IT OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY, BUT INCREASES OVER TIME. THIS ALL OCCURS WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WERE THEY HAVE KEPT IT FOR A COMBINED TOTAL OF WELL OVER A MONTH, BUT CLAIM THAT WITHOUT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO. IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN PREDOMINATELY DURING THE SPRING/SUMMER MONTHS, AND IS LESS FREQUENT DURING THE MUCH COLDER FALL/WINTER MONTHS. WE ARE BEING TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER. MY WIFE IS REFUSING TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR FEAR THAT HER OR OUR CHILDREN WILL BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT IF THE CAR WILL NOT PROCEED ONCE IN A BUSY INTERSECTION.

THIS CAR TOTALLY CUT OFF ON ME (STALLED, ALL POWER EVERYTHING SHUT OFF) MORE THAN ONCE WITHIN AN HOUR WHILE DRIVING, AT LEAST 30MPH ON A MAJOR STREET. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE.

WHEN IS THIS GOING TO BE A RECALL FOR THIS SHIFT TO PARK IN THE MALIBU. THIS CAUSES THE BATTERY TO DIE SO BOTH PARTS HAVE TO BE REPLACED. CHEVY HAS SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SHIFT TO PARK. I CAN SPEND UP TO 10 MINUTES TRYING TO GET THAT MESSAGE OFF. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THE DEALERS KNOW THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR THE 2016 MALIBU BUT NOTHING IS BEING DONE. FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A LOUD POPPING NOISE IN THE REAR OF MY VEHICLE WHILE OPERATING IT. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT & REDUCED POWER EXPERIENCES THREE TIMES WHILE DRIVING. POOR FUEL ECONOMY (SINCE PURCHASE OF VEHICLE) AND LOSS OF ENGINE OIL (HOWEVER NOT VISABLE). MILES BETWEEN OIL CHANGES AND ISSUES WERE 5000 AND 3300 (SYNTHETIC OIL - SHOULD NOT BE LOW & DIRTY IN THAT SHORT PERIOD OF TIME). IDLING IS VERY ROUGH AND COOLING FANS NOT SHUTTING OFF. 35 DAYS LATER - SAME ISSUE - REDUCED POWER, OIL LEVEL LOW, IDLING ROUGH. DEALER FOUND LOW COMPRESSION, BLOWN PISTON AND DEBRIS CAUSING DEEP SCORES IN BORE. ENGINE REPLACED. 60 DAYS LATER - SAME ISSUE - REDUCED POWER, IDLING ROUGH, COOLING FANS CONTINUE TO RUN. REPLACED ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR. BEFORE LEAVING DEALERSHIP, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, COOLING FAN CONTINUE TO RUN AFTER ENGINE TURNED OFF. REPLACED MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR.

2/2/18. WAS TRAVELING AT 47 MPH WHEN A TRUCK STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS APPROXIMATELY 10 CAR LENGTHS AWAY. I HIT THE BRAKE TO STOP, FELT THE PEDAL VIBRATE FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE VIBRATION WENT AWAY. PUMPED THE PEDAL AGAIN AND SLOWED THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO GET OVER TO THE RIGHT BEFORE HITTING THE TRUCK. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, THE AUTO STOP FEATURE DID NOT WORK. THE ONSTAR DID NOT ACTIVATE.THE ROADS WERE DRY, AND THE ROAD WAS FLAT. GM SENT SOMEONE TO RETRIEVE THE DATA FROM THE COMPUTERS, WE HAVE COPIES OF THE REPORT. THE DATA SHOWS 5 SECONDS BEFORE THE CRASH. ACCORDING TO THE BRAKING DATA, THE BRAKE WAS APPLIED AT 47 MPH AND THE VEHICLE SLOWED BUT DID NOT STOP. AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE BACK FROM THE BODY SHOP, WE HAD THE CODES PULLED AND FOUND NUMEROUS CODES IN THE DIFFERENT MODULES. THERE WAS A CODE U0415-71- INVALID DATA RECEIVED FROM ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE PRESENT AS A HISTORY CODE. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CHEVY DEALER AND THEY CONFIRMED ALL THE SAME CODES. WE HAD TO TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE ORIGINAL DEALER THAT DID THE BODY WORK IN CASE IT WAS ACCIDENT RELATED. THE SECOND DEALER IS CLAIMING THAT EVEN THOUGH CODES ARE PRESENT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN FIND WRONG. I BELIEVE THE ABS FAILED ON THIS VEHICLE AND WAS THE DIRECT CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT.
