TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER ENTERED THE VEHICLE FROM THE HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT. THE FAILURE CAUSED WATER DAMAGE AND MOLD TO THE HEADLINER, TRUNK, AND REAR SEATS OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER (BERGSTROM CHEVROLET OF MADISON, 1345 APPLEGATE RD, MADISON, WI) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED IN THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that the shift to park warning message would illuminate on the instrument panel while attempting to park and shut off her vehicle. The contact would be forced to repeatedly move the gear shifter back and forth from the park (P) position until the system recognized the gear shifter in the park (P) position. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed her that her vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V502000 (Electrical System, Power Train). In addition, the contact mentioned that water had been entering the vehicle and leaking out of the middle taillight. Due to the failure, the middle taillight had become fogged and mildew had accumulated inside the trunk. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL OR SENSOR APPEARS TO BE DEFECTIVE ON THESE VEHICLES. I'VE HAD TO REPLACE MINE TWICE WITHIN THE PAST 16 MONTHS. ALSO, AFTER RESEARCHING SEVERAL AUTO FORUMS, THIS ISSUE IS AFFECTING A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE. THIS DEFECT CAUSES THE ENGINE TO REDUCE POWER, WHICH THEN DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO DRIVE OVER 25MPH. THIS CAN BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE DRIVING ON AN EXPRESSWAY WHEN IT OCCURS, LIKE I WAS THE FIRST TIME THE PEDAL WENT OUT. THE 1ST EPISODE OCCURRED 1/18, WITH THE MOST RECENT EVENT OCCURRING TODAY.
THE CAR STALLS IN TRAFFIC, LOSING ALL POWER. IT DOESN'T START SOMETIMES. EVERYTIME I TAKE IT INTO THE DEALER THE ISSUE DOESN'T OCCUR AND THEY CLAIM THE COMPUTER IS COMING BACK CLEAN. HOWEVER, IT DODENT FO THIS ALL THE TIME IT CAN GO WEEKS AND DRIVE JUST FINE BUT AT ANY GIVEN TIME WILL LOSE ALL POWER AND SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND DONE DAYS TAKE A VERY LONG TIME TO START. IT'S VERY SCARY WHEN YOUR IN TRAFFIC IN THE CAR SHUTS OFF THEN ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS COME ON FROM STABILIZER BAR WARNING, TO ENGINE LIGHT. IT'S DANGEROUS AND SCARY WITH MY CHILD IN THE CAR AT TIMES ON SAN DIEGO HIGHWAYS. A CAR SHOULD NOT JUST SHUT OFF OR TAKE FOREVER TO START WHEN EVERYTIME I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER THEY CLAIM THE READINGS ARE FINE. I ALSO SEE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL. GM CHEVROLET WANT BE SATISFIED UNTIL SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT WITH THIS ISSUE LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 29-34 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT HAD TO WAIT A FEW MINUTES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SOUTH BUCKNER CHEVROLET (9301 EARL THORNTON FREEWAY, DALLAS, TX 75228, 469-294-3000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEFECTIVE. A NEW ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS INSTALLED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,218.
THE ROOF LEAKS WATER BADLY CAUSING MOLDY MILDEW SMELL
INSIDE THE CAR IT SMELLS LIKE A MOLD(SMELLS LIKE DO DO). THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ITS SOMETHING DEALING WITH CADILLAC CONVERTER.
ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED MESSAGE POPPED UP WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHILE DRIVING CAR DOWN THE ROAD. CAR ACCELERATION DID NOT WORK THERE WAS NO POWER AND WOULD NOT GO PAST 20 MPH. PULLED INTO TRAFFIC AND WAS ALMOST RAN OVER BY ANOTHER VEHICLE DUE TO THIS PROBLEM OF SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. WENT FROM WORKING PROPERLY TO BEING ABLE TO PUSH ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESPONSE CARE WOULDN'T WORK. TOOK IMMEDIATELY TO DEALER AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAYS THEY CAN REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM ALL THEY DID WAS CHANGE THE OIL. I TOOK A PHOTO WHEN I PULLED UP TO CHEVY SERVICE DEPT AT PETERS CHEVROLET IN LONGVIEW TEXAS SO WHY CAN'T THEY REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM OR WHY DIDN'T THEY HOOK IT UP AND CHECK IT INSTEAD OF OIL CHANGE FIRST? NOT HAPPY WITH THIS SAFETY HAZARD I'M NOW DRIVING MY CHILDREN IN.
WHEN I STOP AT LIGHT WAITING FOR THE STREET LIGHT TO CHANGE A MESSAGE POPS UP THE DASHBOARD SAYS STEERING WHEEL ADJUSTMENT DRIVE WITH CAUTION AND SHUTS MY CAR DOWN AND SOMETIMES IT FLASHES STABLETRACK.BUT THIS MESSAGE BEEN POPPING UP THE DASHBOARD FOR WEEKS AND SHUTS THE CAR OFF AND STARTS UP AGAIN BUT TODAY IT SHUTS IT OFF AND DID NOT START UP BACK

THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE. ON BOTH OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DENOOYER CHEVROLET (127 WOLF RD, ALBANY, NY 12205) WHERE THEY REPLACED THE PEDAL ASSEMBLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,680.
ON 1/4/2018 I WAS DRIVING ON I-95 AND THE CAR BRAKES SUDENLY STOP WORKING COMPLETLY
AT A LIGHT STOPPED AND MY CAR SHUTS OFF, SAYING SERVICE STABILITYTRAK.
THE VEHICLE STARTED TO LEAK WITHOUT DAMAGE. WE NOTICED A FOUL SMELL IN OUR VEHICLE. WE LIVE IN FLORIDA WHERE IT RAINS QUITE OFTEN. WE ASSUMED IT WAS OUR 9-YEAR-OLD LEAVING SOME FRENCH FRIES BEHIND WHEN SHE LEFT THE DAY PRIOR. WE THEN GOT BACK INTO THE CAR AND NOTICED THE FLOOR HAD STANDING WATER AND THE BACK SEATS WERE WET. I LOOKED INTO THE TRUNK WHERE THE SPARE TIRE IS SUPPOSED TO BE AND SAW A PUDDLE OF WATER. NOW EVERY TIME IT RAINS, IT LEAKS AND THERE IS MOLD ON BACKSEAT AND TRUNK. I CALLED COX CHEVROLET 2 TIMES AND LEFT MESSAGES FOR THEM TO CALL ME BACK, AND THEY HAVEN'T. AFTER PAYING A LARGE SUM OF MONEY TO OWN THIS, WE ARE NOW IN A SMELLY, MOLDY VEHICLE. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
TAKATA RECALL: MY VEICHLE HAVE BEEN HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES SINCE MONTHS NOW. I HAVE BEEN PAYING EXTRA MONEY TO REPAIRS AND STILL DOESN'T GET IT FIX. DEALERSHIP DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE. MY CAR TURNS OFF AT THE LIGHT TO SAVE GAS BUT WHENEVER I RELEASE THE BRAKE BACK AGAIN THE WHOLE SCREEN GOES OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN WITH THE ENGINE. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO PUSH IT TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WANT TO TURN BACK ON. MESAAGE ON THE SCREEN SAYS ' POWER STEERLING REDUCED, PLEASE DRIVE WITH CARE' ALSO IT SAYS SOMETIMES ' STABILITITANK ' . I NEED HELP ON THIS SITUATION BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE. I SAW A RECALL OF 7,000 CARS SAME TYPE LIKE MINE ON 2016 FOR THE SAME ISSUES. THANK YOU.
"REDUCED ENGINE POWER" WARNING CAME AND POWER WAS SUDDENLY REDUCED AND VEHICLE SPEED REDUCED. THIS HAPPENED WHILE TRAVELLING 70MPH ON AN INTERSTATE ROAD. VERY DANGEROUS AS THE SPEED DROPPED TO 40 MPH.

ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE GEAR FROM PARK INTO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BERGER CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 2525 28TH ST SE, GRAND RAPIDS, MI 49512, (616) 949-5200) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER CONTROL FAILED. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CONTROL WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER 34,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER CONTROL FAILED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,697. *TR SEE ATTACHED FOR THE DEALER PAPERWORK FOR THE 1ST INCIDENT. SEPTEMBER 2017 STABLITYTRACK WARNING CAME ON AFTER WEEKS CHEVY TOLD ME THEY WERE PUTTING A NEW ENGINE IN. WENT TO PICK UP CAR 10/4/2017 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON LEFT CAR, SERVICE SAID IT WAS A CRACKED CONNECTOR AND REPLACED. DEC 22 TODAY ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED ALERT COMES ON AND CAN'T GO OVER 20MPH WAS ON THE HIGHWAY.
EVERY TIME I PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE AUTO STOP ENGAGES THE ENGINE TURNS OFF, BUT WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE PEDAL THE WHOLE DASH DISPLAY GOES OUT, INCLUDING THE TURN SIGNALS. IT TAKES ABOUT A MINUTE FOR THE DASH TO COME BACK ON. THIS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIME A DAY, AND IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS. IT SCARES ME WHEN THIS HAPPENS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
MY CAR IS CONSTANTLY SAYING ENGINE POWER HAS BEEN REDUCE. NO MECHANIC CAN FIND THE CORRECT PROBLEM.
I DECIDED TO LEASE A 2016 MALIBU OF FEBRUARY 2016. THE CAR WAS GREAT UNTIL MONTHS LATER I STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS. I WAS DRIVING TO SCHOOL ON THE FREEWAY IN OCTOBER 2016, WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY WENT INTO REDUCE SPEED ENGINE. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 TO 70 MPH. I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE OF THE FREEWAY. AS I WAS DRIVING MY CAR DASHBOARD DISPLAY REDUCE SPEED ENGINE, THEN IMMEDIATELY MY CAR WENT FROM 70 MPH TO 30 MPH TO 20MPH. I MANAGE TO GET MY CAR TO THE EMERGENCY LANE OF THE FREEWAY. THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED THAT FOLLOWING WEEK, WITH COMPLICATIONS OF TRYING TO GET A RENTAL CAR SO I CAN GO TO WORK AND SCHOOL. 2017 OCTOBER 31ST, I WAS DRIVING TO GO PICK UP MY SON FROM SCHOOL. I WAS ON A MAJOR STREET. MY CAR WENT INTO REDUCE SPEED ENGINE. I WAS DRIVING 35 MPH. MY CAR WENT FROM 35 TO 20 MPH'S AGAIN. I MANAGED TO PULL INTO A NEAR BANK. SHAKEN UP I PARKED MY CAR AND TURN IT OFF AND THEN BACK ON WITHIN FIVE MINUTES. THE LIGHT WAS STILL DISPLAY ON MY DASHBOARD. I DROVE TO MY SON SCHOOL. I COULDN'T DRIVE OVER 10 MPH. IT NORMALLY TAKE 10 MINUTES TO DRIVE TO MY SON SCHOOL IT 25. IT TOOK EVEN LONGER TO GET BACK HOME. NOVEMBER 30TH, SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. ONCE AGAIN I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE DRIVING THE REDUCE SPEED ENGINE CAME ON. MY CAR SLOWED DOWN. I HAD CARS BEHIND ME HONKING THEIR HORNS AT ME NEARLY CAUSING A FEW ACCIDENTS. I MANAGE TO GET OFF THE FREEWAY. I DID NOT WANT TO BE STUCK ON THE FREEWAY WHILE IT WAS DARK. I WAS STRANDED AT A NEARBY GAS STATION FOR CLOSE TO TWO HOURS. THE PROBLEMS I KEEP HAVING WITH THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS. I REFUSE TO DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE ME OR MY SON OUR LIVES.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON CAR HAD TURNED OFF 2 TIMES AND WAS STALLING ALSO SAID ENGINE POWER REDUCED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, A SQUEAKING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOU BACHRODT CHEVROLET POMPANO BEACH (1801 W ATLANTIC BLVD, POMPANO BEACH, FL 33069, 954-590-0196) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN TOOK THE REAR END APART AND LUBRICATED THE PARTS, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 19,000.
REAR WINDOW LEAKING WHILE RAINING OR CAR WASH. SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS AS WELL
GO DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT SPEED LIMIT THEN LOSE POWER WITH CHECK ENGINE AND REDUCTION OF POWER LIGHTS COME ONE. WE CAN SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND WAIT A FEW MINUTES. THEN TURN THE CAR BACK ON WITH NO PROBLEMS FOR UNDETERRED TIME FRAME BEFORE IT DOES IT AGAIN.
WHILE DRIVING ALERT ON PANEL SHOWED SERVICE POWER STEERING DRIVE CARE WHEN THIS HAPPENED CAR LOST TRACTION AND BRAKES NOT WORKED PROPERLY. 3 X MY CAR IS BEEN ON DAVIS MAUS SANFORD SERVICE LAST SERVICE AUGUST MY CAR WAS RETURNED 8/5/15 MANAGER ASSURED ME IT WAS FIXED AND SINCE 3 WEEKS AGO STARTED AGAIN NOW WHILE IS PARK AND TURNED OFF MESSAGE OF SWIFT TO PARK APPEARED AND ALL ELECTRONIC /RADIO ECT START ON AND ALARM ACTIVATION DOESN'T WORK.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2016 MALIBU LS (JULY 29, 2017). AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE IT HAS 2,100 MILES. IT CURRENTLY HAS APRROXIMATELY 4,600 MILES. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY IT'S ORGINAL FACTORY EQUIPMENT AND HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY CRASH, COLLISION OR HAS HAD ANY BODY WORK DONE. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ALLIGNED. I BELIEVE THE VEHICLE HAS INADEQATE ILLUMINATION, ESPECIALLY FOR SUCH A RECENT MODEL YEAR. THE LOW BEAMS AND THE HIGH BEAMS ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH AND DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROADWAY FAR ENOUGH. IT IS ESPECIALLY NOTICABLE ON TURNS. I DO MOST OF MY DRIVING ON RURAL ROADS IN UPSTATE NEW YORK, WHERE I HAVE A HOME. THERE IS NO SECONDARY LIGHTING (STREET LAMPS/ ROADWAY LIGHTING), JUST YOUR VEHICLES HEADLAMPS. THESE ROADS ARE ONE LANE EACH DIRECTION RURAL ROADS. I BELEIVE THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT SEE WILD LIFE, LIKE DEER AND BEAR ON THE SHOULDER OR THE ROADWAY EASILY IN THIS VEHICLE. THEY DO NOT LIGHT THE ROADWAY'S SHOULDER FAR ENOUGH TO SEE DEER ON THE SHOULDER OR CROSSIING THE ROADS UNTIL YOU ARE CLOSER TO THEM, THEN IN OTHER GM CARS I HAVE HAD AND THEN YOU HAVE TO STOP SHORT. MY PRIOR GM'S CARS, THE HIGH BEAMS AND LOW WERE BRIGHT ENOUGH TO REFLECT OFF THE ANIMALS EYES OR THEIR BODIES. IMPROVED ILLUMINATION WOULD MAKE A SUBSTANCIAL DIFFERENCE AND HELP TO ELIMINATE A SAFETY ISSUE AND OR A POSSIBLE CRASH OR COLLISION. CAN THESE BULBS BE CHANGED OR UPGRADED? I AM A LOYAL GM CUSTOMER AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL GM CARS, AN 1987 CENTURY, 1989 OLDS CIERA. BOTH OF WHICH SEEMED TO HAVE BETTER ILLUMINATION, EVEN BEING MORE THAN 25 YRS OLD. I ACTUALLY JUST REPLACED THE OLDSMOBILE WITH THE MALIBU. I ALSO DRIVE A 2003 SATURN ION WHICH HAS BETTER ILLUMINTION. AS WELL AS A 2016 BUICK VERANO. CAN THIS MATTER BE INVESTIGATED TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE TO REMEDY THIS THIS, THANK YOU.
WHEN PARKING PROXIMITY SENSORS AND PARKING CAMERA FAILED, A CHANGE IN BCM MODULE WAS NEEDED, AFTER THAT AN ALERT ON TRANSMISSION SYSTEM APPEARED INCLUDING THE PARKING SYSTEM AGAIN. CAR HAS BEEN WITH DEALER 10 TIMES COUNTING ALMOST 3MONTHS WITHOUT IT AND WITHOUT AN ACCURATE REASON/SOLUTION.
I SEEN THE RECALL ABOUT THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE FRONT SEAT I'M HAVING A ISSUE LIKE THAT WHAT CAN BE DONE TO SEE IF IT'S RELATED TO WHAT Y'ALL ARE RECALLING THANKS AND BE SIDE THAT IT COME ON AND OFF ON IT'S OWN EVEN WHEN NO ONE IS SEATING THERE.
I GOT IN MY VEHICLE AFTER A MONTH AND DROVE FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES AND I NOTICE IT WAS NOT GETTING COOL. SO I CALLED GM CUSTOMERS I WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS A NICKEL SIZE WHOLE IN THE CONDENSER. AND THEY WE'RE NOT GONNA COVER IT BUT THERE HAS BEEN OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINTS AND THERE REPAIRS. WAS COVERED AND THERE IS NO NICKEL SIZE HOLE IN MY CONDENSER AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURE.

THE SYSTEM GOT INTO A COUPLE OF UN SAFE SITUATIONS (DIRECTED DOWN A INCOMPLETE ROAD WITH NO EXIT) THAT SHE REQUIRED ASSISTANCE VIA HER MOBILE PHONE. TO US, ALL SAFETY RELATED ITEMS THAT REQUIRE ANY TYPE OF UP GRADE SHOULD BE AT "NO COST" TO CONSUMER. GM DOESN'T PROVIDE UP GRADES TO SYSTEM WITHOUT A CHARGE OF $ 179.00 WHERE A GARMIN UNIT DOES AT NO CHARGE.
FIRST TIME THIS HAPPEN I WAS ON THE FREEWAY GOING AROUND 70 MPH WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHEN ON AND A MASSAGE SAYING ENGINE POWER IS REDUCE THE CAR BEGUN TO SHAKE AND SPEED WHEN DOWN TO AROUND 40 MPH FROM 70 MPH IN SECONDS, I KEEP ACCELERATING BUT THE CAR WAS NOT PICKING UP ANY SPEED EVEN THOUGH MY RPM WHEN UP TO 4 AND 5 MY CAR WASN'T GOING ANY FASTER. THIS HAPPEN OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. BUT THE ISSUE CONTINUE NOW AFTER SO MANY TIMES THEY FIGURE OUT THAT SOME SENSORS NEED TO BE REPLACE AND ALSO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS NOT WORKING. I REALLY HOPE THIS IS FIX.

WHEN STOPPING THE VEHICLE THE SHIFTER CONTROL MODULE DOES NOT RECOGNIZE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN THE PARK POSITION. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE VEHICLE DISPLAY'S A MESSAGE AND A WARNING BELL SOUNDS WHEN YOU OPEN THE CAR DOOR. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS, DASH AND RADIO OF THE VEHICLE WILL NOT TURN OFF UNTIL THE VEHICLE BELIEVES IT'S PROPERLY PUT INTO PARK. NO ERROR CODE IS STORED IN THE CARS MEMORY. GM HAS A FIX FOR THIS BUT THE PROBLEM KEEPS RECURRING. MY VEHICLE'S SHIFTER MODULE WAS REPLACE UNDER THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY. THAT FIX FAILED 2 YEARS LATER. THE MOST RECENT FIX WAS TO REPLACE A HARNESS IN THE SHIFTER MODULE. THE DEALER WOULD NOT FIX THIS UNDER THE EXISTING CPO WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A RECURRING ISSUE AND THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE SERVICE BULLETINS CONCERNING THIS ISSUE AND ORIGINALLY REPAIRED UNDER THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY. THIS MOST RECENT FIX HAS FAILED AGAIN AFTER 6 WEEKS OF BEING REPLACED. IF THE VEHICLE DOES NOT RECOGNIZE WHAT GEAR IT IS IN I BELIEVE THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE. AS IT IS WHEN THE VEHICLE DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THAT THE VEHICLE (SHIFTER MODULE) IS IN THE PARK POSITION THE VEHICLE STAYS ACTIVE AND DRAINS THE BATTERY UNTIL THE ERROR IS CORRECTED. YOU ALSO CANNOT LOCK THE VEHICLE. THE CAR HAS TO BE RESTARTED AND MOVED AND IF YOU ARE LUCKY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHUT DOWN IT WILL FINALLY RECOGNIZE THAT THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK. AS THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY IF THE VEHICLE IS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY WILL NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUE IF THEY DO NOT SEE THE ERROR MESSAGE ON THE VEHICLES DRIVER INFORMATION SCREEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BROUGHT IN FOR SERVICE.
I SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS AT AROUND 55-60 MPH AND I KNOW MY ANTI LOCK BREAKS DIDN'T LOCK. I FELT THE WHEELS STILL ROLLING MY CAR SLOWLY CAME TO A BUMPY STOP. AS IF THE TIRE WOULD ROLL THEN STOP ROLL THEN STOP.
THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 15,593 MILES AND 2 OF THE CONTINENTAL TIRES HAVE DEVELOPED BUBBLES AND HAVE BEEN REPLACED. VEHICLE LEASED NEW IN JUNE, 2016. BOTH CONTINENTAL AND GM CLAIM THEY DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM AND HAVE DISREGARDED MY CONCERN. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED BY THE CHEV DEALER AT MY EXPENSE WITH GOODYEAR TIRES. I STILL HAVE 2 CONTINENTAL TIRES ON THE VEHICLE AND HAVE 22 MONTHS REMAINING ON MY LEASE AND I AM VERY CONCERNED. GM AND CONTINENTAL HAVE A BIG PROBLEM THEY ARE IGNORING. I HAVE WRITTEN TO GM'S CEO MARY BARRA, WHO PASSED MY CONCERN TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE, BUT NOT THE SAFETY FOLKS AT GM.
I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 2 YEARS SINCE DAY 1 I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE FROM CONTROL ARMS, ELECTRICAL IN DOORS AND CAR SYSTEMS, THROTTLE BODY, STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL. I THINK THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP WELL OVER 12 TIMES WITH AT LEAST 5 TIMES BEING THE THROTTLE BODY WHERE THE CAR JUST LOOSES POWER AND YOUR UNABLE TO DRIVE MORE THAN 40 MPH. IT GENERALLY WOULD HAPPEN ON THE FREEWAY. I WOULD PULL OVER AND HAVE TO TURN MY CAR OFF AND SIT AND THEN TURN IT BACK ON. THE ABOVE ISSUES WITH THIS CAR IS JUST TO NAME A FEW. BY THE WAY I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AT 27,000 MILES SO THERE IS NO REASON WHY THESE ISSUES SHOULD CONTINUOUSLY BE HAPPENING. I HAVE CALLED CHEVY NUMEROUS OF TIMES COMPLAING THAT THIS VEHICLE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT. I BELIEVE THEY HAVE JUST ABOUT REPLACED EVERY PART EXCEPT FOR THE BRAKES, ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION AND I A SURE THOSE ARE GOING TO BE NEXT. NOT TO MENTION I GET HOME AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON AGAIN AND THE NOISE IS SLIGHTLY STILL THERE. ENGINE AUTO START/STOP EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE (WHEN AT STANDSTILL IN DRIVE SHIFT POSITION) ENGINEERING MODIFICATION NEEDED ENGINE AUTO START/STOP NEEDS TO HAVE A DRIVER DETECTOR (IN SEAT) ADDED TO PREVENT THE CAR FROM INADVERTANTLY DRIVING FOWARD WITHOUT DRIVER IN THE DRIVER SEAT. IT IS ESPECIALLY CRUCIAL FOR THOSE NEW DRIVERS NOT USED TO THE FUEL SAVING START/STOP ENGINE. IT HAPPENED TO ME RECENTLY AND I WAS UNAWARE CAR WAS NOT IN PARK AS ENGINE WAS IN "AUTO STOP POSITION" AND SILENT. AS I GOT OUT AND SHUT DOOR, CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE WITH NOBODY IN THE CAR. LUCKILY I WAS FAST ENOUGH TO CHASE AFTER IT, OPEN DOOR, AND SLAM ON THE BRAKES WITHOUT INCIDENT. THIS HAS ALMOST HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES PRIOR AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I WOULD RECCOMEND PUTTING SOME KIND OF CHIP IN THE DRIVER SEAT WHICH WOULD DEACTIVATE THE ENGINE IF DRIVER SEAT IS EMPTY WHILE CAR IS IN DRIVE SHIFT POSITION. IF NOT CORRECTED THE CAR COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PEDESTRIANS AND BYSTANDERS. THIS SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED ACCROSS ENTIRE GM LINE AS WELL AS OTHER MANUFACTURERS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
VEHICLE IN MOTION IN LEFT HAND LANE, ON 5 LANE MAIN ROAD DURING RUSH HOUR, TRAFFIC GOING APPROX. 35 MPH. AS I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE STALLED, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A WARNING MESSAGE SAID THE VEHICLE WAS "SLOWING DOWN" (IT STALLED COMPLETELY). I WAS UNABLE TO DRIFT INTO THE RIGHT LANE AND FORCED TO ABANDON MY CAR INTO THE CENTER LANE - USED FOR MERGING FROM OTHER LANES OF TRAFFIC. POLICE RESPONDED BUT NO REPORT WAS FILED. OFFICER SUGGESTED I LEAVE THE VEHICLE FOR MY OWN SAFETY & WHEN TOW TRUCK ARRIVED TO REQUEST THE AUTO BE TOWED TO A SAFE SPOT FOR REMOVAL OF PERSONAL ITEMS. THIS SITUATION WAS NOT ONLY DANGEROUS TO MYSELF BUT OTHERS. A CRASH COULD HAVE BEEN THE RESULT. ACCORDING TO DEALER, NO RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. DID HAVE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. LESS THAN 10,000 MILES ON CAR APPROX 18 MOS OLD. DEALER HOPES GM FIX WILL WORK, BUT I AM NOW NERVOUS ABOUT DRIVING THE VEHICLE.

NO WORK PERFORMED, INSPECTION ONLY. 8/4/2017 DROVE APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS, APPLIED BRAKES AND TERRIBLE GRINDING NOISE (LIKE METAL ON METAL) CAR JERKED AND BRAKE PEDAL LOCKED. 8/5/2017 AGAIN APPLIED BRAKES AND TERRIBLE GRINDING NOISE (LIKE METAL ON METAL) CAR JERKED AND BRAKE PEDAL LOCKED. CAR PARKED FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS. THEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 65 MPH TACHOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER GAUGES DROPPED TO 0 AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON AND POWER STEERING LOSS WARNING MESSAGE CAME ON. CONTACTING DEALERSHIP AGAIN TOMORROW.

ONCE ON THE STREET THE CAR WOULD NOT EXCEED 20 MPH. ALMOST LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS PULLING. I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM ON STAR DIAGNOSTIC STATING CRITICAL ISSUE WITH ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SERVICE IMMEDIATELY. I GOT TO THE DEALER AT THE EARLIEST ALLOWED AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE TECH TOLD ME THE CODE SHOWING WAS FOR THE TROTTEL AND NOT THE ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION, BUT THEY WOULD HAVE TO DO A COMPLETE CHECK. ONE HOUR LATER THE CUSTOMER SERVICE TECH CALLED FOR ME AND GAVE ME MY KEYS SAYING THERE IS NO KNOWN FIX AT THIS TIME FOR MY PROBLEM AND THEY RESET THE CODES. IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN GIVE THEM A CALL. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT I WAS DRIVING 60 MPH AND THE MILEAGE ON MY CAR WAS ABOUT 39,980.
CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH 19 INCH ALUMINUM ALLOY WHEELS AND 245/40/19 CONITPRO TIRES. IN MY FIRST 12, 000 MILES I HAVE HAD TWO BLOWOUTS AND TWO ADDITIONAL SIDEWALL BULGES REQUIRING TIRE REPLACEMENT FOR SAFETY REASONS. THAT'S RUINED 4 TIRES IN ONE YEAR. MY INFORMATION IS THAT BECAUSE OF THE SIZE OF THE WHEEL AND THE PROFILE/MAKE OF THE TIRE- THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED. WHAT CAN I DO TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE?

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SEAT BELT WOULD BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,100.
