THE VEHICLE IS DRIVING NORMAL AND SUDDENLY SHUTS DOWN FOR NO APPARENT REASON. UPON PARKING, YOU TRY TO START THE CAR, AND IT WON'T. WAIT FOR APPROX. 30 MINS AND THE CAR STARTS BUT A BIT ROUGH FIRST AND THEN DRIVES.
AFTER I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND PUSH THE BUTTON TO TURN IT OFF, IT SAYS TO SHIFT TO PARK. I HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR AND PUT IT IN REVERSE AND DRIVE AGAIN. SOMETIMES THIS WORKS, BUT IT IS GETTING MORE DIFFICULT TO GET THE CAR TO SHUT OFF. THE CAR BEEPS AT ME AND WON'T SHUT THE RADIO OFF WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON TO TURN THE CAR OFF. I CAN'T LOCK THE DOORS BECAUSE THE CAR DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THAT I HAVE SHIFTED TO PARK. THIS STARTED HAPPENING IN JULY, 2020. AT FIRST THIS ONLY HAPPENED OCCASIONALLY. NOW IT IS HAPPENING EVERY TIME I TURN THE CAR OFF.
MY MALIBU ONLY HAS 34K MILES ON IT AND IS METICULOUSLY CARED FOR. ON AUGUST 10TH, I WENT TO START IT. IT WOULD NOT START OR TURN ON THE LIGHTS. SO I TRICKLE CHARGED IT AND 4 HOURS LATER WHEN IT FINALLY TURNED ON I HAD THE BATTERY CHECKED. THE BATTERY IS FINE. HOWEVER, THE STABILITRAC IS NOT COMING BACK ON ALONG WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL AND LANE ASSIST. THE BACK UP CAMERA, BACK UP CAMERA LINES, CRASH AVERSION SENSORS, AND SCREEN WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE 10TH OF AUGUST AFTER THE CAR CAME BACK ON. THE SREEN HAS HAD ISSUES IN THE PAST AS WELL WITH NOT TURNING ON ALONG WITH SHOWING THE PROPER TIME, TEMPERATURE, AND MORE.
WHEN THE CAR IS PUT IN PARK IT WONT SHUT OFF AND GIVES THIS MESSAGE "SHIFT TO PARK". THIS IS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENT.
REDUCE ENGINE POWER AND THE BRAKES JUST CUT OFF GOING DOWN ROAD DRIVING NOT SAFE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, SMOKE SEEPED INTO THE CAB OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STOPPED CLOSE BY AND THE VEHICLE WAS CHECKED BY HER SON AND SAW THERE WAS A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF ANTIFREEZE LEFT IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER RIVERSIDE CHEVROLET (707 W 51ST ST, TULSA, OK 74107 918-446-7700) WHILE IT WAS RUNNING HOT. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED BY THE DEALER WITH AN OIL CHANGE AND FLUID CHECKS TWO MONTHS EARLIER. THE DEALER SUGGESTED TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE OVERNIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEATER COIL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO COST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THEIR DAUGHTER WAS UNABLE TO IMMEDIATELY SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, AFTER SWITCHING TO THE PARK POSITION THE "SHIFT TO PARK" MESSAGE HAD DISPLAYED. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE SHUT OFF. THE LOCAL DEALER (UNKNOWN) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AT HIGH SPEEDS. THE SHIFT TO PARK PREVENTS THE START BUTTON FROM STARTING THE VEHICLE .
VEHICLE TRANSMISSION ISSUE. STABILITRAK SERVICE WARNINGS. ACCELERATION ISSUES.
WITHIN APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS OF PURCHASING THE CAR I EXPERIENCED SEVERAL OCCASIONS OF INABILITY TO ACCELERATE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER BUT IT DID NOT HAPPEN WHILE THEY WERE DRIVING IT SO THEY SENT THE CAR HOME. AROUND A YEAR OR SO LATER I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM GM OF A RECALL FOR ACCELERATION PROBLEMS. IT SAID ONLY TO TAKE THE CAR IF I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS, WHICH I WAS NOT AT THE TIME. RECENTLY I EXPERIENCED ACCELERATION PROBLEMS AGAIN AND TOOK THE CAR IN. THEY SENT ME HOME AGAIN SAYING TO BRING IT BACK IF THE LIGHT COMES ON THE DASHBOARD SAYING LACK OF POWER. I CANNOT FIND THE RECALL NOTICE I RECEIVED BUT WANT MY CAR FIXED. ALTHOUGH THIS ONLY HAPPENS OCCASIONALLY, IF IT HAPPENS ON THE FREEWAY OR ON A HILLY ROAD THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS.
DURING HIGHWAY SPEEDS, ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, ESC WARNING COMES ON, VEHICLE LOSES POWER AND SHUDDERS. WAS MERGING ONTO FREEWAY WHEN ENGINE LIGHT AND ESC LIGHT CAME ON, CAUSING VEHICLE TO REDUCE POWER, FORCING AN IMMEDIATE REACTIONS TO AVOID COLLISION. DEALERSHIP SAYS ISSUES CANNOT BE FOUND.
THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER LOOK TO HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE AND BURNED THE BUTTONS ABOVE IT THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED NO KEY IN THE IGNITION
WHEN VEHICLE COMES TO A STOP AND AUTO START HAPPENS, MY RADIO SHUTS OFF. BATTERY SOMETIMES DOES NOT HOLD CHARGE. COULD BE THE ALTERNATOR OR SOME KIND OF ELECTRICAL MISFIRE OR CONTACT. DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME VEHICLE IS STARTED.
I PUT THE CAR IN PARK TURN OFF BUT I GET THE MESSAGE SHIFT INTO PARK. SOME TIMES I DO THIS SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I CAN LOCK THE DOORS. I LOOKED UP RECALLS THERE IS A RECALL LISTED FOR THIS. BUT IT SAYS MY CAR ISN'T LISTED. THERE IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM.
Water leaking and running into spare tire compartment in truck. Due to no recall alert and dealership won't do anything, now my dome light shorts out and water stain on ceiling liner by rear window.
VEHICLE HAS VIBRATION AND MAKES A HUMMING NOISE AT ALL SPEEDS. WHEN HARD BRAKING THE VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT. TOOK VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DOBB'S TIRE AND AUTO CENTER AND THEN DIAGNOSED VEHICLE WITH EXCESSIVE RIGHT, FRONT MOVEMENT AT THE TRANSMISSION. POSSIBLY AN INTERNAL STUB AXLE? REPAIR SHOP ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FROM OCTOBER 2019 STATING THE SAME ISSUE. REPAIR SHOP ALSO HAD ANOTHER 2016 MALIBU IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND UPON THEIR MULTI-POINT INSPECTION THEY ALSO FOUND EXCESSIVE MOVEMENT WITH THE RIGHT, FRONT AXLE AT THE TRANSMISSION.
IM GETTING AN ALERT OF AIR BAG PROBLEM AND I RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT AN AIRBAG PROBLEM RECALL. ALSO THE BRAKE PEDAL WHICH MY HUSBAND FIXED AND A ROOF WATER LEAK WHICH MY HUSBAND ALSO FIXED.
GETTING AN ERROR ( SHIFT TO PARK) WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK AFTER ATTEMPTING TO GO FROM DRIVE TO PARK TO TURN VEHICLE OFF. I START VEHICLE ON AGAIN AND SHIFT TO DRIVE AND BACK TO PARK AND IT THEN GOES AWAY AND SLOWS ME TO TURN VEHICLE OFF.
TRUNK IS LEAKING AND MILDEW SMELL ALL IN THE CAR. WET ON BOTH SIDES OF TRUNK AND HOLDS WATER. GM HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE FOR SEVERAL YEARS WITH NO RECALLS ISSUED AND THEY WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF REPAIRS.
VEHICLE HAS BEEN GIVING PROBLEMS SINCE I PURCHASED FROM THE DEALER, WELL ABOUT 60DAYS INTO MY PURCHASE. REAL PROBLEM IS THAT IT JERKS CONSTANTLY AT TIMES IT DOESN'T MOVE DUE TO ACCORDING TO MY OWN DIAGNOSTICS THE TRANSMISSION CONVERTER TORQUE SOLENOID AND THIS SHOULD BE HAPPENING. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I'M ON THE HEY IT TAKES TOO LONG TO ACCELERATE AND MANY TIMES NOT ACCELERATING AT ALL. IT CAUSES MY GAS TO DECREASE. THE OTHER DAY I WAS 30MIN FROM MY RESIDENCE AND IT TOOK 5 HOURS, LITERALLY FOR ME TO GET HOME. COMPUTER SYSTEM STARTED BLINKING CONSISTENTLY. ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. WINSDAHIELD WOOER LIFTS STAYS ON. TC LIGHTS STAYS ON. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS CAR WITHIN 60 DAYS STAYS ON. THIS IS HORRIBLE.
When I go into park and turn off my car I get a “Shift to park” message. This happens numerous times a day. Sometimes the light turns off after a few minutes by itself. Most of the time I have to wiggle the shifter or turn the car back on and go from another gear such as drive to park. I have read that this is a common issue amongst this make and model.
I gotten the head light changed several times even diagnostic tests and they cant tell me why my low beam and high beam light keeps going out
PROBLEM HAS HUGE ACCIDENT POTENTIAL. *DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN MODERATELY HEAVY TRAFFIC. *TRAVELING AT A 65-70 MPH TO KEEP UP WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC, I BEGAN RECEIVING "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED" MESSAGE ON MY INFO SCREEN. * THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON (AND I IMMEDIATELY START COUNTING HOW MUCH TIME AND MONEY THIS WILL COST ME). * THERE IS A SLIGHT JERK/PULL OF THE CAR WHERE IT IMMEDIATELY STARTS A DRASTIC REDUCTION IN SPEED DOWN TO 20-30 MPH. * I'VE HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO STOP THE CAR (I PRAY I AM ABLE TO DO THIS SAFELY). *EVENTUALLY, I FOUND THAT BY SHUTTING THE ENGINE OFF COMPLETELY FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, THE CAR SOMEHOW "RESETS" AND DRIVES NORMALLY. * OCCASIONALLY, THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD GO AWAY IMMEDIATELY UPON RE-IGNITION. I BOUGHT MY CAR IN APRIL OF 2019. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS, THREE DIFFERENT TIMES FOR THE SAME REASONS. THE FIRST ISSUE IS THAT WHENEVER THE CAR ACCELERATES FROM A STOPPED POSITION, AND WHENEVER SOMEONE IS IN THE BACKSEAT, THERE IS A KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE REAR OF THE CAR. IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING IS LOOSE. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE NOISE THREE DIFFERENT TIMES, AND ALL THREE TIMES I WAS TOLD THEY DROVE THE VEHICLE (WITH PEOPLE IN THE BACK) AND COULDN'T "REPRODUCE" THE NOISE. ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE HAD THE GEARSHIFT CHANGED OUT TWICE WITHIN 8 MONTHS, BECAUSE THE CAR KEPT SAYING THAT THE VEHICLE WASN'T IN PARK AND WOULDN'T TURN OFF, EVEN THOSE IT WAS IN PARK. THE NOISE COMING FROM THE BACK IS DEFINITELY THERE, AND BASED UPON WHAT I HAVE READ, IT HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER MALIBU OWNERS AS WELL

THE DAY BEFORE THE CAR'S DASHBOARD SAID THAT THE CAR'S POWER ASSIST WAS TURNING OFF. THE NEXT MORNING AS I WAS GOING 75 MILES PER HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR SAID THAT ENGINE WAS REDUCING POWER AND SPEED REDUCED TO 45 MPH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SUDDENLY WENT ON AND IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT COULD HAVE KILLED ME. *TR

AFTER I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURN IF OFF, IT SAYS TO SHIFT TO PARK. I HAVE TO RESTART, MOVE IT BACK AND FORTH. IT'S GETTING MORE DIFFICULT TO CLEAR THE MESSAGE SO I CAN EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE CAR ONLY HAS 34K MILES. *TR
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact also stated that the brakes would not engage when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the abs warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the battery needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer where it was diagnosed with the battery needing to be replaced again. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The contact was relating the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 16V272000 (Electronic Stability Control). The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING OR PULLING OFF FROM A STOP, THERE WAS A KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO OURISMAN CHEVROLET OF BOWIE (16610 GOVERNOR BRIDGE RD, BOWIE, MD 20716), AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION KNUCKLES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 96,990.
I GET ROUTINE SERVICE TO MY CAR & MY ENGINE IS CLICKING, LOUDLY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY GOES ON & OFF & I WAS TOLD BY CHEVROLET SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THEY COULD NOT EVEN RUN A DIAGNOSTICS TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS OFF WHEN I GOT TO THE DEALERSHIP. SOMETIMES 'SERVICE BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM' WILL ILLUMINATE BUT IT TOO PICKS AND CHOOSES WHEN TO ILLUMINATE. SOMETIMES IT SHOWS 'BATTERY SAVER ACTIVATED' AND THIS IS THE THIRD BATTERY I'VE PURCHASED! THE ENTIRE CAR WILL STALL/SHUT OFF BUT THE GREEN LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED TO SHOW THE CAR IS ON BUT WHEN I ACCELERATE IT WON'T BUDGE! DANGEROUS CONSIDERING MY CAR COULD STALL AT ANYTIME AND CAUSE A COLLISION. I'VE NEARLY GOTTEN T-BONED TWICE COMING OUT A GAS STATION ENTERING A ROAD BECAUSE MY CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WHILE TRAFFIC WAS COMING FROM BOTH DIRECTIONS! A SERVICE MAN AT THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP ASKED ME WAS I EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH MY AUTO START/STOP WHEN I TOLD HIM WHAT WAS HAPPENING. YES! MY CAR PICKS AND CHOOSES WHEN IT WANTS TO DO IT. AND WHEN IT DOES 'RESTART' THE ENTIRE CAR REBOOTS, THE LOCKS RE-CLICK, LIGHTS FLICKER, IT'LL BE IN DRIVE AND ROLL BACKWARDS UNTIL THE IGNITION TURNS OVER! CHEVY OR AT LEAST THE SERVICE TECHS ARE FULLY AWARE OF AN ISSUE AND WON'T FIX IT. SOMETIMES THE CAR JUST WON'T START, ALL THE POWER WILL GO OUT. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I'M OUT & THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND ENGINE WON'T START AFTER AT LEAST STARTING 20 MINUTES PRIOR! I'VE ALREADY GOT NEW PISTONS, A NEW ALTERNATOR, 3 NEW BATTERIES & GET THE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. I HAVE A MYCHEVY ACCOUNT & EVERY MONTH MY DIAGNOSTICS REPORT, SHOWS AN ISSUE! IF I'M IN AN ACCIDENT & MY CHILD OR I ARE INJURED, WHO IS LIABLE BECAUSE MY CAR DECIDES TO MALFUNCTION IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY? CHEVROLET FOR NEGLECTING TO SERVICE MY CAR BECAUSE THE FREAKING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ISN'T ON!
THE MAIN ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE IS THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED AND I TURN THE CAR OFF THE FRONT PANEL WILL SAY THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN THE PARKED POSITION AND WON'T ALLOW THE CAR TO TURN OFF. I HAVE TO PUSH THE START BUTTON ON AND OFF MULTIPLE TIMES AND SHIFT THE CAR IN AND OUT OF PARK BEFORE THE SENSOR CAN GAUGE THAT THE CAR IS IN THE PARKED POSITION AND WILL ALLOW THE CAR TO BE TURNED OFF. THIS OFTEN TAKES 5-20 MIN. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE RADIO WON'T TURN OFF, THE DASH BOARD WON'T TURN OFF AND CAR WON'T SHUT DOWN. ALSO THE CAR OFTEN GIVES ME INCORRECT READINGS ON THE DASH BOARD. *TR
CAR WILL NOT SHUT OFF AS IT DOES NOT REGISTER THAT THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK WHEN SHIFTED TO THE PARK POSITION. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, I HAVE SEEN 'ENGINE POWER REDUCED' WARNING ON THE DASHBOARD. THIS WARNING REDUCES THE CAR SPEED CONSIDERABLY AND THEREFORE SLOW THE CAR NO MATTER HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. I TOOK THE CAR TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP TO GET IT CHECKED AND THEY TOLD ME THAT ONE OF MY INTAKE VALVE WAS DEFECTIVE. I HAD IT REPLACED AND PAID FOR THE SERVICE. I LEFT AND THE SAME DAY THE WARNING CAME BACK AGAIN AND SLOWED THE CAR. THE SPEED CAN GO FROM 60MPH TO LESS THAN 10MPH IN FEW SECONDS. STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AGAIN DOESN'T HELP THE CAR INCREASE SPEED. I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND MANY OTHER DRIVERS HAVE SIMILAR ISSUES. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM DIAGNOSED IT AGAIN. UNFORTUNATELY THEY HAVE NOT DETECTED THE CAUSE OF THE WARNING 'ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED'. THEY TOLD ME THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND ARE ASKING ME TO REPLACE MY ENGINE. I THINK THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.
This is not a safety issue but potentially it could be & I want GM to take action. I drive a 2016 Chevy Malibu. Beginning 2017, I started getting this message after ignition “SHIFT TO PARK”. This is purely GM’s mistakes in designing the part. Solution is to replace the shifter asm completely irrespective of the warranty coverage. This is a common issue on multiple cars between 2016 to 2019, I suppose. I took the car to Ed Rinke dealer in MI back in 2018 timeframe & they said the shifter cable needs to be replaced. I did pay around $200 for the service & issue was gone for a while. It was back again in 2019-2020 timeframe intermittently. Its pretty bad now, I cannot shut the engine off & have to wait for quite sometime to get rid of the message & seriously do not know what to do. If I close the door & leave, message is still ON & battery drains out. I want GM to cover for expenses because dealership would want to diagnose when we all know what the issue is.

OCCASIONALLY, THE PUSH TO START BUTTON FAILED TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO RUN CONTINUOUSLY. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE HEADLAMPS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FAIRWAY CHEVROLET (3100 E. SAHARA AVE, LAS VEGAS, NV 89104; (702) 522-0580) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
WE HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER AN HOUR TO OUR DESTINATION AS I CAME TO THE SECOND RED LIGHT THAT WAS RIGHT PAST ONE WE JUST PASSED WITH NO PROBLEMS, THE BRAKES MADE A LOUD NOISE UNDERNEATH THE CAR AND BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK. THE CONTACT CALLED MICHAEL BATES CHEVROLET INC, (23755 ALLEN RD, WOODHAVEN, MI 48183), AND INFORMED THE DEALER OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND WAS TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000. *LN*JB
IT'S AMAZING ME READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND GM HASN'T ISSUES A RECALL. HOWEVER, I PURCHASED A 2016 CHEVY MALIBU USED ABOUT A YEAR AGO. WITHIN THE YEAR, I'VE HAD MY ACCELERATION PEDAL BE FAULTY, MY CAR SPEED WILL DRASTICALLY REDUCE FROM 60-70MPH TO 20-25MPH WHICH AS I'M SURE EVERYONE KNOWS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. THEN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED BUT THIS TIME IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR. NOW NOT EVEN 2 MONTHS LATER, MY STOP/START IS MALFUNCTIONING. IF I BRAKE AND THE CAR TURNS OFF, MY 'START' FUNCTION DOES NOT START! I HAVE TO SHIFT THE CAR TO PARK, TURN THE CAR ON, THEN SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE. ALL OF WHICH IS DANGEROUS! OBVIOUSLY, THESE COMPLAINTS ARE NOT BEING READ OR ARE NOT BEING TAKEN SERIOUS BECAUSE I JUST READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO THIS. WHILE DRIVING ON I-285,AT A SPEED OF AROUND 70MPH, THE VEHICLE DISPLAY SHOWED 'REDUCED ENGINE POWER.' ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR IMMEDIATELY SLOWS DOWN TO A SPEED OF 40 THEN LESS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER OFF SHOULDER. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED SINCE IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE TO AN APPROPRIATE SPEED. *TR
WHEN STOPPING AND AUTO STOP KICKS ON THE CAR SHUTS DOWN AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. THEN IT HAS TO BE PUT IN TO PARK AND RESTARTED. TURN SIGNALS AND RADIO HAVE NO SOUND WORKING AND SOMETIMES THERE IS A STEERING ASSIST WARNING MESSAGE APPEARS. I CHANGED MY BATTERY SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL TIMES AND I'VE ALSO HAD THE ALTERNATOR CHECKED AND IT'S FINE AS WELL. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE A 2016 CHEVY MALIBU. WE BOUGHT IT BACK IN 2016 BRAND NEW. SINCE THEN, THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US MULTIPLE TIMES. WE'LL BE ON A BUSY HIGHWAY THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IN THE MIDDLE OF FAST PACED TRAFFIC THE CAR SUDDENLY WON'T GO ABOVE 30MPH. IT'S VERY SCARY. THE THIRD TIME IT WAS WINTER AND I HAD ALL MY YOUNGER SIBLINGS IN THE CAR, AND I WAS PREGNANT (ALL UNDER THE AGE OF 13) AND WE WERE ON I-94 AND IT SUDDENLY WOULDN'T GO OVER 30MPH AGAIN LEAVING US TEMPORARILY STRANDED UNTIL A FAMILY MEMBER HAD TO COME PICK US ALL UP. WE BROUGHT IT IN AND PAID ABOUT $500 OUT OF POCKET DUE TO THROTTLE SENSORY ISSUES. NOW I AM CURRENTLY STUCK AT HOME TODAY (5/6/2020) ONCE AGAIN BECAUSE IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN EVEN THOUGH WE GOT THE ISSUE FIXED A COUPLE MONTHS AGO. YESTERDAY I WAS ON A COUNTY ROAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COUNTRY WITH MY INFANT/BABY IN THE CAR AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN, THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND IT SAID 'ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED' AND WOULD NOT GO OVER 30MPH. IT TOOK ME AN HOUR TO GET TO AN 'AUTOZONE' SHOP AT THIS CRAWLING SPEED WITH MY FLASHERS ON (AND A RESTLESS SCREAMING BABY) TO HAVE THEM READ THE ENGINE CODE.. SURE ENOUGH THEY TOLD ME IT IS A THROTTLE SENSOR ISSUE. THIS IS EXHAUSTING AND DANGEROUS! *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER OPENED A CASE REGARDING THE MATTER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000. *BF *AS
WHEN DRIVING, HITTING A BUMP, GOING OVER AN UNEVEN ROAD, OR EVEN PULLING INTO A DRIVE WAY MY CAR MAKES A CREEPING, THUMPING SOUND IN THE REAR. EVEN WHILE IN PARK IF SOMEONE PUSHES DOWN ON THE TRUNK IT MAKES THE NOISE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS. I HAD BOTH REPLACED AND THE NOISE HAS GOTTEN WORSE. ALSO, EACH TIME IT RAINS THERE IS WATER UNDERNEATH MY SPARE TIRE AND MY FLOOR GETS WET ON THE BACK ROW.
WHEN IN PARK, WILL NOT ALLOW THE ENGINE TO BE SHUT OFF.THE SHIFT LEVER IS IN PARK, AND BRAKE IS ENGAGED. IT INDICATES THE CAR IS NOT IN PARK.THIS OCCURS FREQUENTLY AND HAS SINCE 05/01/2020
I ALREADY REPLACED THE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR ONCE AND WITHIN 6 MONTHS IT DID IT AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN MY CARS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT GAVE A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD THAT READ 'ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED'. IT SLOWED ME TO 44 MPH & WAS STUCK AT 3000 RPM. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY MANEUVER THE VEHICLE OFF THE FREEWAY BUT I AM SERIOUSLY WORRIED ABOUT MY OWN SAFETY & THE SAFETY OF OTHER VEHICLES IF I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS CAR. LIKE I MENTIONED, THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN FIXED/REPLACED ONCE & NOW IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN.

I WAS DRIVING ON MY WAY TO WORK AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CARS LIGHTS COME ON THE DASH AND SAY SERVICE STABILITYTRAK SOON AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER AS WELL AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
