BRAKE LINE'S COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT RESULTING IN NO BRAKES WHILE DRIVING,LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP WITHOUT ANY ACCIDENT OR INJURY,2003 CHEVY SILVERADO. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THIS IS VERY COMMON. GM NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. *TR
JUST BOUGHT A 2003 CHEVY SILVERADO 4X4 WITH A 5.3LT ENGINE . PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL GAUGE, IT WORKED WHEN TEST DROVE AT DEALER AND AFTER BUYING THE TRUCK IT STOPPED ON THE WAY HOME!!!! BEEN TOLD IT WILL COST HUNDREDS TO FIX !!!! AFTER RESEARCHING ON THE NET I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH GM TRUCKS,AND NOT ONLY WITH 2003 TRUCKS BUT MANY OF OTHER YEARS!!!!!!!! AND ALSO SOME CAR MODELS NOW WITH ALL THE PROBLEMS PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS CANNOT BE A COINCIDENCE!! IF YOU WANT PROOF JUST READ THE GM FORUMS IT'S AMAZING HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING GAS GAUGE PROBLEMS !!!!!!!!! NO INCIDENT YET. *TR
DRIVING DOWN A CITY ROAD THE LOW TRAC LIGHT CAME ON WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT THE CAR DIES PUSHED IT TO A PARKING LOT TRIED TO START WOULD NOT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND FOUND THAT IT WAS A BAD FUEL PUMP. THIS COULD OF BEEN SCARY IF IT WOULD OF DIED ON THE HIGHWAY VEHICLE HAS 84,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
WE HAD COMPLETE LOSS OF HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM. LUCKILY MY WIFE WAS IN A PARKING LOT WHEN THE BRAKE LINE LET GO. HYDRAULIC FLUID WAS RUNNING OUT FROM UNDER THE TRUCK. THE PETAL EASILY WENT RIGHT TO THE FLOOR, NO RESISTANCE AT ALL. THE DEALER ASKED IF WE COULD DRIVE THE TRUCK ABOUT 10 MILES TO THE SHOP. WE HAD IT FLAT BEDDED IN. ALL BRAKE LINES WERE VERY RUSTY AND ALL HAD TO BE REPLACED. WE DO NOT HAVE OLD BRAKE LINES. *TR
THE ABS SYSTEM ON MY 2003 CHEVY C2500HD PICK UP TRUCK WERE MALFUNCTIONING CONSTANTLY FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. EACH AND EVERY TIME I CAME TO A STOP THE ABS SYSTEM WOULD ENGAGE, THE PEDAL WOULD ALMOST BOTTOM OUT AND THE TRUCK WAS HARD TO STOP. AND SEVERAL TIMES I WAS ALMOST IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION BEFORE STOPPING.THE RIGHT AND LEFT ABS SENSORS WERE REPLACED WITH NEW SENSORS AT A COST OF ALMOST $500.00. I WAS NOT GIVEN THE OLD PARTS. THIS 03 TRUCK HAS ONLY 41,000 MILES AND I FILL THAT THE ORIGINAL SENSORS WERE DEFECTIVE. THESE SENSORS ARE NOT A NORMAL MAINTENANCE PART AND ARE NOT LIKE FILTER,OIL CHANGES ,BRAKES JOBS WIPER BLADES WHICH ARE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ITEMS. THESE SENSORS ARE AN VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THE ENTIRE BRAKE SYSTEM . I BELIEVE CHEVROLET HAS A PROBLEM WITH THIS PART BUT WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THEIR RESPONSIBILITY IN THIS MATTER. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO CHEVROLET MOTOR DIVISION AND TOLD THEM THAT CHEVROLET SHOULD PAY FOR THE PREMATURE FAILURE OF THESE PARTS.. THESE FAULTY SENSORS CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET VENTURE. CONDENSATION ACCUMULATES INSIDE OF THE HEADLIGHTS. AFTER FUELING THE VEHICLE, SHE SMELLED A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS INTERMITTENTLY FAIL . SHE SPECULATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS AN ELECTRICAL DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT SHE WAS NOT PROVIDED WITH ANY ASSISTANCE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 109,200 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
WHILE BACKING OUT OF DRIVE I LOST BRAKING ACTION. THE LINE SERVICING THE REAR BRAKES RUSTED/CORRODED ALLOWING THE BRAKE FLUID TO ESCAPE AND RESULTED IN NO BRAKES. *TR
I WAS STOPPED ON BOAT RAMP AND STARTED TO BACK UP WHEN BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR.WE WERE VERY LUCKY TO NOT LAUNCH BOAT AND TRUCK INTO RIVER AT THE SAME TIME. WE THEN HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO OUR LOCAL GARAGE AND THE BRAKE LINE WAS REPAIRED. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THE BRAKE LINE WAS RUSTED.THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW.THE SECOND TIME I WAS STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT AND THE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR . CHEVY SAYS YOU DON'T LOSE COMPLETE BRAKING BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE CEO HAVE IT HAPPEN TO HIM. THIS PROBLEM WILL MAKE ME SELL THIS TRUCK .I WILL NOT BE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AGAIN ..I HOPE THE NHTSB WILL MAKE CHEVY EITHER ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM OR FIX IT BEFORE SOMEONE EITHER GETS SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED. *TR
I OWN A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 4X4 PICKUP AND HAVE HAD TO SPEND $750 TO REPLACE BRAKE LINES THAT FAILED DUE TO CORROSION. I READ THAT YOU ARE CONSIDERING A RECALL AND AM HOPEFUL THAT YOU DO TO RECTIFY THIS SITUATION. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE AND THE OIL TEMPERATURE GAUGE A FEW WEEKS AGO STARTED NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE NEEDLES WOULD STICK AND THEREFORE COULD NOT READ GAUGES. AT FIRST THEY WOULD JUST NOT WORK FROM TIME TO TIME, BUT NOW THEY DO NOT WORK AT ALL. I HAVE A LETTER FROM CHEVROLET INFORMING ME THAT A PROBLEM LIKE THIS COULD HAPPEN AND IF IT DID TO CONTACT MY DEALER FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO INSPECT THE PROBLEM. IF THE DEALER FOUND THAT THE PROBLEM WAS VALID THEN CHEVROLET WOULD REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE LETTER ALSO STATED THAT THEY WOULD ONLY FIX THE PROBLEM IF THE PICKUP FELL BETWEEN THE GUIDELINES OF NO MORE THAN 70,000 MILES OR 7 YEARS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE, WHICHEVER OCCURRED FIRST. THEREFORE WHEN I SPOKE TO CHEVROLET AND MY PICKUP HAD 97,000 MILES, EVEN THOUGH IT HAS NOT BEEN 7 YEARS SINCE PURCHASE, THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO HELP ME BECAUSE I HAD GONE OVER THE MILEAGE RESTRICTION. THE PART CAN ONLY BE BOUGHT BY THE DEALER AND INSTALLED BY A CERTIFIED CHEVY MECHANIC, BECAUSE IT HAS TO BE PROGRAMMED. IT COST AROUND $350.00 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM THAT ONLY OCCURRED BECAUSE OF A DEFECTIVE PART. I HAVE BEEN A DRIVER FOR A MAJOR DELIVERY COMPANY FOR 20 YEARS AND THIS PROBLEM FALLS IN THE CATEGORY OF A SAFETY ISSUE. THE GAS GAGE DOES NOT WORK, RESULTING IN NEVER KNOWING WHEN AND WHERE THE VEHICLE COULD RUN OUT OF GAS. THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE IS NOT WORKING, THEREFORE NOT ALLOWING THE DRIVER OF THE PICKUP TO KNOW IF THERE IS ENOUGH OIL IN IT AT ALL TIMES TO PREVENT OVERHEATING WHICH COULD RESULT IN BURNING A MOTOR UP. *TR
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO K2500HD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT CORROSION IN THE BREAK LINE OF HIS VEHICLE CAUSED BREAK FLUID LEAKAGE. BREAK FAILURE INCREASES THE RISK OF VEHICLE CRASH. HE IS IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. HE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER.THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 80,000.
2003 CHEVY SILVERADO SPEEDOMETER READING INACCURATELY. ASCENDING TO 120MPH AND STAYING WHILE DOING POSTED SPEEDLIMIT. *TR
SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONING. THE NEW "0" SEEMS TO BE SOMEWHERE AROUND 20 TO 25 MPH. IN RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET, I SEE THAT I HAD BEEN FORTUNATE THAT I HADN'T HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE CLUSTER BEFORE THIS. I HAVE HAD SPORADIC MALFUNCTIONING IN THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS BUT I COULD LIVE WITH THAT...THE SPEEDOMETER IS A MAJOR PROBLEM. *TR
THE ABS SYSTEM ACTIVATES AT LOW SPEED ON DRY PAVEMENT DURING A NORMAL STOP WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO TRAVEL FARTHER THAN EXPECTED AND REQUIRES EXTRA PEDAL PRESSURE TO COMPLETE THE STOP. THIS HAS RESULTED IN NUMEROUS NEAR-MISSES TO VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME AT INTERSECTIONS, PARKING LOTS, ETC. *TR
BELOW IS A LIST OF HISTORY WITH REPAIRS TO MY TRUCK. IN MARCH 2004 I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2003 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500HD .FIRST 2 YRS FRONT ROTARS TURNED COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THEN 1-21-09 FRONT ROTARS AND CALIPARS REPLACED DUE TO ROT.1-30-09 TRANSMISSION LINE REPLACED ROTTED.ON 6-19-09 NEW STARTER. 8-29-09 REAR CALIPERS AND HOSE ROTTED 35455 MILES.ON 9-2-09 ABS SENSOR AND LEFT FRONT BRAKE HOSE ROTTED. ON 8-28-10 POWER STERING PUMP REPLACED. ON 8-24-11 BRAKE LINES TO ABS ROTTED 46763 MILES. 10-27-11 LEFT REAR BRAKE LINE ROTTED 47943 MILES. MY WINDSHEILD WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED LEAKING INSRUMENT PANEL SHOWS EMPTY. I'M HAVING MY LEFT REAR BRAKE LINE REPLACED NEXT WEEK...ITS THE ONLY ONE LEFT AND I DONT WANT TO TAKE THE CHANCE OF AN ACCIDENT. MT MECHANIC STATES HE HAS NEVER SEEN THIS MUCH RUST ON A FAIRLY NEW VEHICLE. UNFORTUNATELY I DIDNT KEEP RECORDS IN THE EARLY YEARS OF OWNERSHIP BUT I CANT BELIEVE TRANSMISSION LINES,BRAKE LINES ,CALIPERS CAN ROT THAT FAST. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS EXPERIENCE WITH PAST TRUCKS I HAVE OWNED. I BELIEVE THERE MUST BE SOME SORT OF FACTORY DEFECT THAT IS CAUSING THIS. *TT
WIRING ON HEATER BLOWER MOTOR OVERHEATED AND MELTED WIRE CASING PUTTING SMOKE INTO THE CAB AND LOOKS LIKE POSSIBLE SMALL FIRE WHEN I PULLED THE COVER OFF TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. FUSES DID NOT MELT WHEN WIRES MELTED TOGETHER AND BURNT CASING OFF. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 TO 70 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS; A CLUNKING NOISE CAME FROM OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS ALSO EXCESSIVE VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HUB. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON A SEPARATE OCCASION FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE HUB WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERNS OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,142. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 3500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR OUTER DRIVER SIDE COOPER TIRES BEGAN LOSING RUBBER WHICH CAUSED TREAD SEPARATION. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE TIRE TREAD HAS CONTINUOUSLY SEPARATED FROM THE TIRES. THE COOPER DEALER AND MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO RETURN THE TWO TIRES THAT HAVE FAILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED TO ENGAGE WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE GEAR OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE RUPTURED FRONT BRAKE LINES WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE DID NOT RECUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,840 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
I STARTED MY 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PUT IT INTO GEAR THEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. LUCKILY MY E-BRAKE WORKED. THE TRUCK ONLY HAD 57000 MILES ON IT. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM AND THEY REPLACED ALL THE FRONT BRAKE LINES. I AM GLAD NO ONE WAS HURT. WHY DID THE RUST OUT WITH LOW MILES? I AM READING I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE AND SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN IN ACCIDENTS. THE REPAIR COST ME $617.00. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS READING INACCURATELY. A LOCAL MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 43,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,900.

MY DAUGHTER HAD A WRECK IN HER VECHICLE AND THE AIR BAG DIDN'T DEPLOY. *TR
STEERING BOX WENT OUT IN MY 2003 CHEVY 1500 SILVERADO ALL OF A SUDDEN AND I COULDN'T TURN TO THE LEFT WHILE PULLING OUT OR AT SLOW SPEEDS. DIDN'T NOTICE ANY PROBLEMS IN STEERING UP TO IT GOING OUT. JOHNSON CHEVY GARAGE HAD TO REPLACE STEERING BOX TO FIX. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 41,000 MILES ON IT AND THEY ALSO SAID GM KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM AND HAD A TBS OUT ON IT BUT IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER A RECALL. I BOUGHT A BOX FROM ADVANCE AUTO FOR 350.00 AND PAID JOHNSON CHEVY GARAGE 157.00 FOR LABOR. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY BETWEEN 3-4 MPH, THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND WHEN THE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE DRIVER EXPERIENCED EXTREME DIFFICULTY SLOWING DOWN THE VEHICLE. IMMEDIATELY, THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS PLACED INTO PARK AND THE PARKING BRAKE WAS ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS OR INJURIES. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY INOPERATIVE AND IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 70,000. UPDATED 07/14/09 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE LINE HAD RUPTURED. UPDATED 07/16/09.*JB
2003 CHEVY 2500HD DURAMAX/ ALLISON TRANSMISSION HAS 94,300 MILES ON IT. FOUND DEFECT WHILE BACKING IT OUT OF DRIVEWAY; THE BACK COVER OF THE TRANSMISSION WAS CRACKED AND FLUID COMING OUT.THE COVER IS PART NO.29544804 THROUGH GM.AT A COST OF $666.60 PLUS OTHER PARTS NEED FOR REPAIRS AND LABOR ALSO NEEDED TO BE ADDED TO CHARGES. THE NEW PART IS JUST THAT, NEW FROM OLD DEFECTIVE PART. I JUST DID THE REPAIR MY SELF BECAUSE JUST LOST MY JOB THE DAY OF THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND COULDN'T PAY TO HAVE IT DONE. GM TELLS ME IT IS AN OLD TRUCK WHY IT FAILED AND THEY HAVE NO LIABILITY; YET THE NEW COVER IS MUCH HEAVIER IN DESIGN FROM ORIGINAL ONE. *TR
2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500HD, 6.0 4WD LS. CURRENT MILEAGE: 94,000 MILES. VEHICLE IS WELL OUT OF WARRANTY. IN IOWA. 1ST OWNER. BRAKE FAILURE OR REALLY SPONGY BRAKES. REQUIRES MULTIPLE PEDAL PUMPS TO SLOW VEHICLE DOWN OR APPLYING BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR TO STOP AT STOP SIGN IN CITY DRIVING. I REMOVED THE FRONT TIRES AND INSPECTED THE PADS AND ROTORS. FRONT PADS HAD 75%+ MATERIAL ON THEM. THE INSIDE OF EACH ROTOR HAD 50% CONTACT SURFACE ON THEM. I TOOK THEM INTO O'REILLYS IN COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA WHERE THEY TURNED THEM DOWN ENOUGH TO CLEAN UP BOTH SIDES OF ROTORS. ROTOR WERE RUSTING AND FLAKING. I HAVE NOT INSPECTED REAR ROTORS OR PADS AS OF YET. WAS TOLD BY TECHNICIAN THAT CHEVROLET HAD PROBLEMS WITH ROTOR. AFTER REPLACING TURNED ROTOR AND INSTALLING NEW PADS BRAKES GO UNCHANGED. INSPECTION OF REAR ROTORS AND PADS WILL OCCUR 22 JUNE 2009. WITH NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS CONCERNING A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, GM/CHEVROLET SHOULD INVEST IN DEALING WITH CORRECTING THIS ISSUE TO AVOID LOSING THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS. I UNDERSTAND THAT A FEW HERE AND THERE, BUT WHEN MULTIPLE CHEVY SITE SAY THE EXACT SAME THING....HOW MANY OF US SILVERADO OWNERS HAVEN'T POSTED ON HERE??? I LOVE MY SILVERADO AND WILL TRY TO KEEP IT UNTIL THE WHEELS FALL OFF...OK WRONG CHOICE OF WORDS....BUT IF THERE IS A MEANS TO CORRECT THIS, WHETHER IF IT IS ON THE 1500 TO THE 3500HD, ESPECIALLY BRAKE SYSTEM, GM/CHEVROLET NEEDS TO ROGER UP AND FIX THIS! HAVING BRAKES ARE IMPORTANT, UNLESS YOUR A CRASH TEST DUMMY!!!! *TR

THIS HAPPENS ABOUT HALF THE TIME THAT I BRAKE AND AT OTHER TIMES THE BRAKES OPERATE NORMALLY. YOU HAVE TO ASSUME THAT THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ARE GOING TO KICK IN EACH TIME THAT YOU APPLY THE BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER CAR IN THE REAR OR GOING INTO AN INTERSECTION. *TR
I HAVE A 2003 CHEVY 2500 SILVERADO WITH THE 6 LITER V8. 2 YEARS AGO I NOTICED A TICKING SOUND FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. A COUPLE MONTHS LATER WHILE CHANGING OIL I FOUND ANOTHER BROKEN BOLT ON THE RIGHT SIDE. THIS YEAR WHILE CHANGING PLUGS I FOUND ANOTHER BROKEN BOLT ON THE LEFT SIDE. I WAS LOOKING ON THE INTERNET TO GET SOME TIPS ON FIXING THE PROBLEM WHEN I CAME ACROSS A UTUBE VIDEO BY CARQUESTIONS AND FOUND OUT THIS IS NOT JUST BAD LUCK ON MY PART IT IS A VERY WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM AND AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURING DEFECT BY GM. THIS IS NOT AN EASY FIX AND TO GET IT DONE IS MORE THAN I CAN AFFORD. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON CONSTANTLY NOW BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IT HAS CREATED WITH THE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM. THE CLIMATE CONTROL FAN SPEED MODULE HAS SHORTED OUT CAUSING THE WIRING HARNESS TO MELT. THE MODULE OVERHEATED TO A POINT THAT CAUSED SMOKE AND ALMOST IGNITED WILL COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A FIRE UNDER THE DASHBOARD. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER BECAME STUCK AND THEN INCREASED TO 80 MPH. CURRENTLY, THE SPEEDOMETER IS STUCK AT 78 MPH AND DOES NOT MOVE. THE VEHICLE IS PARKED IN THE CONTACT'S DRIVEWAY. HE HAD TO USE HIS GPS TO CONTROL HIS MILES PER HOUR WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER INFORMED HIM OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND THAT THEY EXTENDED THE MILEAGE FAILURE REGARDING THE LAWSUIT. HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST TO REPAIR HIS VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THEY SHOULD PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
