I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY DRIVEWAY AND ATTEMPTED TO STOP BEFORE PULLING OUT ONTO MY STREET AND THE PEDDLE WENT TO THE FLOOR AND TRUCK DIDN'T STOP UNTIL I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THANKFULLY THERE WASN'T ANY TRAFFIC AT THE TIME. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT THERE WASN'T ANY SIGNS OF POSSIBLE BRAKE ISSUES. *TR
AFTER DRIVING 30 MILES ON INTERSTATE 95, I PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO MOVE THE TRUCK, I STEPPED ON BRAKES AS USUAL EXCEPT THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I LOST MY BRAKES BECAUSE THE BRAKE LINE UNDER THE DRIVER POSITION RUPTURED. WHEN I TALKED TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, I TOLD THEM I LOST THE BRAKES IN MY TRUCK. THE RESPONSE WAS "IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH SILVERADO TRUCKS AND SUBURBANS". THEY SAID "BRING IT IN AND WE'LL CHECK IT OUT". I TOLD THEM IF IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON IT! I CAN'T BELIEVE THE COMPANY DOES NOT PUT A RECALL OUT FOR THIS. THAT TRUCK WEIGHS ABOUT 7000 POUNDS, I DO MOSTLY HIGHWAY DRIVING AT SPEEDS UP TO 75 MPH (IF YOU DRIVE 65MPH ON I-95 YOU'LL EITHER BE TAILGATED OR PUSHED OUT OF THE WAY), AND IT IS TERRIFYING TO KNOW THAT YOU CAN LOSE YOUR BRAKES LIKE THAT WITHOUT ANY WARNING. MOST OF THESE VEHICLES HAUL HEAVY LOADS OR PULL TRAILERS OR BOTH. *TR

COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE WHEN BRAKES APPLIED IN BRAKE SYSTEM. PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOORBOARD WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR BRAKING ACTION. REAR BRAKE LINE RUSTED THRU ABOVE GAS TANK AND EXPELLED ALL BRAKE FLUID WHEN PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THERE WAS NO BRAKING OR SLOWING FROM ANY WHEEL. FLUID WAS ALL OVER TIRE AND AXLE ON THE LEFT REAR. LUCKY THAT I DID NOT HAVE ANY VEHICLES DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME AS I HAD TO COAST TO A STOP. DEFINITELY READING THE OTHER POSTS ON THE WEB THAT THIS IS NO FLUKE AND DOES NOT NEED TO BE A HIGH MILEAGE VEHICLE. TRUCK IS NOT USED FOR SNOW REMOVAL AND SEES LIMITED DRIVING DURING WINTER MONTHS.
THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. CALLED DEALER TOLD ME WARRANTY WAS OVER. I THOUGHT IT IS A NATIONAL WARRANTY ON AIRBAGS BECAUSE OF THE BEING A SAFETY HAZARD FOR THEM TO WORK PROPERLY. UPDATED 4/24/2015 *JS
BRAKES SEEMED SOFT WHILE DRIVING ON MOUNTAIN ROADS YESTERDAY. THIS MORNING PUDDLE UNDER THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR. NO BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. HOUR LATER WHEN TOW TRUCK CAME, MOVED TRUCK FOR TOWING AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. IT DID NOT WANT TO STOP WITH BRAKES - ROLLED TO STOP. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER WHO IS CHECKING FOR THE REASON FOR THE LEAK. NOT REPAIRED YET - WAITING FOR DEALER TO GET BACK TO ME. *TR
WHILE APPLYING BREAKS ON DRY SURFACES AND COMING TO A STOP THE ABS KICKS IN AND PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. THIS CAUSES THE STOPPING DISTANCE TO INCREASE. I HAVE ALMOST REAR-ENDED STOPPED AND PARKED CARS AND RAN INTO MY GARAGE DOOR. THERE HAVE BEEN TO MANY CLOSE CALLS SO I HAVE PULLED THE FUSE TO SHUT OFF THE ABS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 2 MPH IN REVERSE THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND TO DECELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE COVERED WITH RUST. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
7-12-14, 11:15 MTN TIME MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING WESTBOUND ON I-76, IN A 2006 CHEVY SILVERADO, 2500 HD DURAMAX DIESEL TOWING A 24" CATALINA 5TH WHEEL, APPROXIMATELY 6,500 LBS, IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE, AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH IN COMMERCE CITY, CO APPROACHING 104TH AVE. AT THE 104TH AVE OVERPASS A DRUNK DRIVER PULLED OUT FROM BEHIND THE OVERPASS SUPPORT COLUMN IN THE CENTER MEDIUM AREA OF THE DIVIDED HIGHWAY APPROXIMATELY 1-2 CAR LENGTHS IN FRONT OF US. WE IMMEDIATELY HIT HIS VEHICLE IN THE RIGHT REAR. AT THE TIME HE WAS MOVING FORWARD 2-5 MPH. THE COLLISION WAS CATASTROPHIC WITH VERY SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO ALL VEHICLES. THE FRONT AIRBAGS OF THE 2006 CHEVY SILVERADO DID NOT DEPLOY. THIS VEHICLE IS A ONE OWNER VEHICLE. IN 2007 IT WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL ACCIDENT IN WHICH A DRIVER TURNED IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER AT AN INTERSECTION RESULTING IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AT 35 MPH AND THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CHEVY DID THE REPAIR AND CERTIFIED THE REPAIR OF THE VEHICLE. *TR

DRIVING AT ABOUT 35MPH WHEN THE CAR AHEAD PUT ON BRAKES MY PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR AND I ENDED UP USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. I HAD THE TRUCK TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME THE BRAKE LINES WERE COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT. I CALLED CHEVROLET'S SERVICE NUMBER AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS NOT A PROBLEM WITH MY YEAR. BUT IT HAD BEEN IN THE PAST SO NO HELP AVAILABLE. *TR
I WAS MOVING MY TRAVEL TRAILER IN MY DRIVEWAY, IN PREPARATION FOR A VACATION TRIP. WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE, A RUSTED BRAKE LINE FAILED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE SAFELY. FURTHER INSPECTION REVEALS THAT ALL THE BRAKE LINES ON THE TRUCK ARE BADLY RUSTED AND WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED. *JS
ANTI-LOCK SENSORS DEVELOP RUST AND FAIL. AT SLOW SPEEDS WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKES THEY PULSE AND TAKE EXTRA TIME AND DISTANCE TO STOP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH FEDERAL COURAGIA A/T TIRES, SIZE 33512.50R/20LT (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SIDEWALLS OF THE TIRES CONTAINED BUBBLES. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000 AND THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
BRAKES FAILED, PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WHEN I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY. CHECKED UNDER TRUCK AND THE BRAKE LINES ARE RUSTED AND 1 OR 2 WERE LEAKING BRAKE FLUID. COULD STOP ONLY BY USING EMERGENCY BRAKE. IF I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD I WOULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT. BRAKE LINES SHOULD NOT RUST OUT IN 8 YEARS. THESE TRUCKS NEED TO BE RECALLED. IT IS GOING TO COAST CLOSE TO $1000 IF I REPLACED ALL THE LINES. *TR
MY WIFE WHILE DRIVING THE ABOVE TRUCK STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDDLE "FELT FUNNY" AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT. SHE STATED THAT SHE HAD ALMOST COMPLETELY LOST THE ABILITY TO STOP. WHEN I WAS ABLE TO INSPECT THE TRUCK I FOUND A RUPTURED BRAKE LINE THAT LEAD TO THE REAR BRAKES. ALSO ALL THE BRAKE FLUID HAD LEAKED OUT OF THE RUPTURED LINE. I HAVE SINCE HAVE HAD ALL THE BRAKE LINES REPLACED WITH STAINLESS STEEL LINES. I AM LEARNING THAT THIS IS AN ON GOING ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL OF TRUCK AND MY CONCERN SHOULD BE OBVIOUS. MY WIFE COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY INJURED HERSELF OR OTHERS. *TR
FIRST THE RADIO DOES TURN OFF SOMETIME WHEN OPENING THE DOOR . THEN I HAVE TO REPLACE THE HEATER FAN RESISTER EVERY THREE TO FOUR MONTHS BECAUSE IT BURNS OUT WHILE I DRIVE I CAN,T USE DEFROSTER OR ANY TEMP. OPTIONC. *TR
I HAD MY TRUCK FIXED AT SEAR AUTOMOTIVE IN HUNT VALLEY MARYLAND AFTER 3 WEEK AFTER I WAS PROMISED 1 WEEK.WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A NEW REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND NEW BRAKE LINES. I GOT MY TRUCK BACK I LOST BRAKES GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY ABS LIGHT CAME ON BROUGHT MY TRUCK BACK TO SEARS. IT WAS FIXED SO I WAS TOLD AND I LOST BRAKES AGING. AND THEN I BROUGHT IT BACK A 3RD TIME THEY FINALLY FIXED IT. BUT THEY MADE ME DRIVE MY TRUCK WITH NO BRAKES BACK TO THEM. NEXT MY REAR DIFFERENTIAL LOCKED UP ON 695 AND I SPUN OUT I BROUGHT THE TRUCK BACK TO THEM. THEY CLAIMED IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY WHEN THE WARRANTY EXPIRED WELL THE TRUCK WAS IN THE SHOP. SO I STARTED TO DRIVE THE TRUCK HOME AND 4 WHEEL DRIVE TURNED ON AND MY FRONT 2 WHEELS STARTED DRAGGING ALONG WITH MY BACK WHICH MADE MY TRUCK COME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF YORK ROAD. WHICH AUTO NATION TOLD ME THAT MY FRONT DIFFERENTIAL IS BAD NOT THE REAR THAT'S WHY IT HAPPENED. *TR
THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THAT A BRAKE LINE BLEW OUT ON THIS TRUCK. NO WARNING THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG. APPLIED BRAKES COMING TO A STOP SIGN AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. NO PEDAL RESPONSE. THIS TRUCK IS KEPT CLEAN AND MILEAGE IS UNDER 34000. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS.

THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS RUST UNDER THE VEHICLE WHERE THE BRAKE LINES WERE LOCATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
I WAS AT OUR TOWN DUMP WHEN I HIT A SMALL POT HOLE AND WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES THEY WENT TO THE FLOOR. I FOUND BRAKE FLUID SPLATTERED ON THE INSIDE OF THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR WHEEL. I FOUND THAT THE BRAKE LINE GAVE AWAY RIGHT ABOVE A SMALL METAL BRACKET THAT CONNECTS THE RUBBER HOSE TO THE MAIN BRAKE LINE FROM THE ABS BOX. THE CONDITION OF THE REST OF THE BRAKE LINE REVEALS SERIOUS CORROSION, I LIVE IN CT AND DEAL WITH WINTER CONDITIONS. THE TRUCK IS A 2006 SILVERADO WITH 62000 MILES. I WAS VERY FORTUNATE THAT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN ON THE OPEN ROAD OR WHEN WE PULL OUR HORSE TRAILER. I HAVE READ ABOUT MANY ISSUES ABOUT GM BRAKE LINE ISSUES AND FEEL THAT A RECALL WOULD BE PRUDENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE BACKING OUT OF THE GARAGE, THE VEHICLE LUNGED BACKWARDS WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY RESPONDED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HYDRO BOOSTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,942.
STARTED THE VEHICLE FASTEN SEAT BELT EXITED THE CARPORT STARTED TO LEAVE MY YARD HAD TO STOP A GO BACK IN HOUSE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF REMOVED THE KEY WENT BACK IN THE HOUSE CAME BACK GOT IN THE VEHICLE FASTEN SEAT BELT STARTED THE VEHICLE PUT IT IN DRIVE AND THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHED SEVERAL TIME WE OUT AND CAME BACK AND WILL NOT GO BACK OUT IT WILL FLASH SEVERAL TIME GO OUT AND COME BACK ON AND STAY. *TR
SAW WET SPOT UNDER DRIVER'S SIDE OF TRUCK, JUST BEHIND ENGINE COMPARTMENT. KNEW IT WASN'T GOOD AS THE AC IS ON THE OTHER SIDE. FIGURED I'D CHECK IT LATER. STARTED TRUCK AND AS SOON AS I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, I COULD FEEL SOMETHING WAS WRONG. STOPPED TRUCK, POPPED HOOD AND CHECKED BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN MASTER CYLINDER. SAW IT WAS LOW. ADDED A PINT OF FLUID AND LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK. SAW IT LEAKING FROM A RUSTED OUT BRAKE LINE NEAR THE ABS MODULE. ALL LINES ARE RUSTED AND IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. *TR
BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. LATER ON, THE INFORMATION CONSOLE DISPLAYED A SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM MESSAGE. THE BRAKE LINES ARE SO RUSTED OUT THAT THEY ARE NOW LEAKING BRAKE FLUID. *TR
THE AIR BAG SERVICE LIGHT AND IS LIT AS WELL AS THE SERVICE CENTER SAYING IT NEEDS SERVICE, ALSO HAS THE SAME BRAKE PROBLEMS THE 2007 AND UP SILVERADOS WHERE RECALLED FOR WITH THE FAILURE OF THE FRONT ABS SENSORS. THE ABS PROBLEM COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AT LOW SPEED BECAUSE EVERYTIME YOU STOP THE ABS SYSTEM ACTIVATES AND PULSES UNTIL STOPPED AT 15 TO 20 MPH AND INCREASES STOPPING DISTANCE. THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS BECAUSE OF A SENSOR FAILURE IN THE FRONT END AREA AND REQUIRES REPLACEMENT. FROM WHAT I READ ON THE INTERNET THESE ARE WELL KNOWN SAFETY ISSUES WITH THE MODEL TRUCKS. THE OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE PREMATURE FAILURE OF BRAKE LINES THAT HAVE CORRODED, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON FOR THE EVER WELL KNOWN PROBLEM OF THE VACUUM SOLENOID NEAR THE FULL TANK. THESE ARE CONSTANT PROBLEMS WITH THIS YR AND OTHER MODELS AT GM. THEY SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, AND STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. LEFT FROM THE TRAFFIC LIGHT ,AND THE ENGINE JUST STALLED, LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS. THE GAS GAUGE SHOWED THAT I HAD A 1\4 TANK OF GAS. SO I HAD IT TOWED HOME ANYWAY. THE NEXT DAY I WENT OUT TO START IT WITH NO LUCK. THEN I PUT 2 GALLONS OF GAS IN THE TANK, AND THE TRUCK STARTED RIGHT UP. NOW I KNOW THAT THE GAUGE IS 1\4 OF A TANK OFF. SOME AUTO TECHS HAVE TOLD ME THAT WHAT THEY CALL A FUEL CARD THAT IS LOCATED ON THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY IS BAD. JUST WONDERING IF THIS IS TRUE, BECAUSE IT IS A LOT CHEAPER THAN A FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY. THANK YOU. *TR
STEEL BRAKE LINE RUPTURED DUE TO APPARENT RUSTING. BRAKE FLUID DRAINED FROM SYSTEM AND ABILITY TO BRAKE WAS NEARLY DIMINISHED. *TR
I APPLIED THE BRAKES. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITH LITTLE RESISTANCE. I GOT THE TRUCK HOME AND NOTICED BRAKE FLUID DRAINING FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE METAL BRAKE LINE JUST FORWARD OF THE REAR AXLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL WAS ACTIVATED AND SMOKE EMITTED INTO THE CAB. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR, RESISTOR HARNESS, AND CONNECTORS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,700.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THREE OF THE FOUR TIRES EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION WITHIN THE PAST SIX MONTHS. EACH TIRE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, EXCEPT FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.

BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITH NO BRAKING AVAILABLE. THIS WAS JUST AFTER A 300 + MILE TRIP HAULING A HORSE TRAILER AND TWO HORSES. SERVICE INVESTIGATION REVEALED RUPTURED HYDRAULIC BRAKE LINES. ALL BRAKE LINES ARE SEVERELY CORRODED AND ALL MUST BE REPLACED. WORST PORTION IS JUST UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT AREA WHERE THREE LINES RUN TOGETHER. CALLED DEALER AND GM, IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM SINCE GM NOW OFFERS A DISCOUNTED BRAKE LINE KIT. MAY POSTS ON CHEVY FORUMS REVEAL THE EXACT PROBLEM. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE AS THIS APPEARS TO BE A BAD DESIGN. FORTUNATE THAT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN WHILE ON THE TURNPIKE. *JS
OIL GAUGE READS FROM ZERO TO 80 (HIGHEST READING) WITH ALARMS BEING SOUNDED REPEATEDLY. THE GAUGE IS BOUNCING, CAUSING THE ALARM TO COME ON AND GO OFF WHILE IN TRAFFIC. WHEN ACCELERATING THE PRESSURE WILL DROP TO ZERO THEN BOUNCE. OIL LEVEL IS PERFECT. TRUCK IS WELL CARED FOR. *JS
I WAS IN FAST LANE ON HIGHWAY APPROACHING SOME CONSTRUCTION AND WAS CUT OFF BY SOMEONE WHO PASSED ME ON THE RIGHT . I STEPPED HARD ON MY BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR . . I HIT THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME AND RUINED MY FRONT BUMPER. UPON INSPECTION OF MY VEHICLE I NOTICED BRAKE FLUID DRIPPING FROM FRAME RAIL . .I LOOKED AND NOTICED A LINE RUPTURED DUE TO RUST / ROT AND ALL THE BRAKE LINES WHERE IN BAD CONDITION . I WAS ABLE TO CRUTCH THE TRUCK TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THE REPAIRED THE STEEL LINE. MECHANIC MADE ME AWARE OF THE TERRIBLE CONDITION ALL THE STEEL LINES WERE IN ( FUEL LINES, TRANSMISSION LINES,ECT) AND THAT THE BRAKE BLEEDERS ON FRONT CALIPERS WHERE ALSO ROTTED BEYOND SAVING . . I BELIEVE ALL THESE LINES SHOULD HAVE BEEN STAINLESS STEEL AS THEY ARE EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS AND I'M LUCKY TO HAVE NOT TOTALED THE TRUCK , INJURED SOMEONE ELSE AND OR MYSELF. *TR
BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SPONGY WHILE DRIVING. UPON REAPPLYING THE BRAKES, PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR AND VEHICLE CREEPED TO A STOP. UPON INSPECTION, SAW BRAKE FLUID ON GROUND AND SPEWING OUT FROM BRAKE LINES BY DRIVER'S REAR SIDE. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY SAID THAT ALL OF THE BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED OUT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE TRUCK IN MY DRIVEWAY AFTER PUMPING THE BRAKE PEDAL. I WAS TOLD BY THE CHEVROLET DEALER ALL THE BRAKE LINES NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1000. HOW CAN THE NHTSA ALLOW MANUFACTURERS TO INSTALL BRAKE LINE MATERIALS THAT CAN FAIL WITHOUT WARNING IN 7 YEARS OR LESS? *TR

WAS JUST TOLD BY GM DEALER AND GM OWNERS CENTER THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY RECALL, EVEN THOUGH MY VEHICLE HAS THE EXACT FAILURE UNDER THE 12138 RECALL. TRANSMISSION FLUID HAS LEAKED ONTO HOT SURFACES AND SMOKED TO A NEAR FIRE. PLEASE HELP! *TR

AFTER SPEAKING TO A FRIEND ABOUT THIS, HE SHOWED MY HUSBAND AN ARTICLE ABOUT HOW GM PICKUPS HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH RUSTED BRAKE LINES AND THAT THEY SHOULD BE RECALLING THESE VEHICLES. *TR
ABS ENGAGES AT SLOW SPEEDS - EVIDENTLY THERE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE ABS SENSORS ENGAGING AT LOW SPEEDS. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS DEFECT. IT IS SCARY WHEN YOU APPROACH A STOP AND THE BRAKES RELEASE. GM HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HAS ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN. THERE WAS A RECALL ON PREVIOUS YEARS BUT STOPPED IN 06 EVEN THOUGH THEY NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEMS. THEY SHOULD REINSTATE THE RECALL AND FIX THE REMAINING VEHICLES. WE HAVE NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE DEFECTIVE SENSORS BUT I CONSIDER US FORTUNATE. *TR

THE GEAR LEVER WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND. THE CONTACT WAS A CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND STATED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKE LINES WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO CORROSION HOWEVER, THE REQUIRED PARTS WERE NO LONGER BEING PRODUCED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

ON STARTING THE VEHICLE THE DIC LIGHT CAME ON & STATED THAT THE 42V BATTERIES WAS NOT CHANGING . AT THE SAME TIME THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON . I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF TO MOVE DEBRIS FROM THE REAR OF THE TRUCK ,THEN WHEN TRYING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE , IT WOULD NOT START. THE TRUCK HAVE POWER INSIDE BUT WILL NOT START AT ALL.
