WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED TO SHOW THE CURRENT SPEED OF THE VEHICLE, THE OIL PRESSURE WAS NOT REGISTERING IN THE VEHICLE, AND THE HORN FAILED TO SOUND. THE FAILURES RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. ....UPDATED 03-31-16 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED SEATBELTS LOCK UP AND REAR LATCH COVER IS BROKEN, TRANSMISSION SHIFTING HARD AT TIMES, EXTERIOR LIGHTING EXPIRING, WINDOWS GOING OFF TRACK, AND TIRES LOSING AIR PRESSURE, HAS TO BE INFLATED AT VARIOUS TIMES. *TR *CN
THE TRUCK FRAME, BED AND CAB ARE COMPLETELY COVERED WITH RUST. UNCERTAIN HOW LONG THE FRAMED WILL BE SAFE IN ORDER TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE.
DASH CRACKED ABOVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG ON ITS OWN. IF I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS THERE WILL BE SHARDS OF PLASTIC SHOOTING EVERYWHERE.
1) SEATBELT FEMALE RECEPTACLE WILL NOT ACCEPT MALE SEATBELT CONNECTOR DUE TO BROKEN PLASTIC IN RECEPTACLE ON REAR PASSENGER AND REAR CENTER SEATBELT. 2) DRIVER SEATBELT SOMETIMES DOES NOT LOCK UNTIL TRYING SEVERAL TIMES AND RELEASES DURING DRIVING AFTER APPARENTLY LOCKED

THE CONTACT WAS A CERTIFIED ASE AND GM TECHNICIAN WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL FLOW CONTROL MODULE FAILED DUE TO CORROSION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

WHEN STOPPING QUICKLY TO AVOID A DEER, THE BRAKE LINE LEADING TO THE REAR WHEELS FAILED. LUCKILY I DID NOT HIT THE DEER BUT IF IT WAS PEDESTRIAN OR ANOTHER VEHICLE LATER IN THE TRIP THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN FATALITY. THERE ARE NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THESE RUSTY BRAKE LINES FAILING. MY TRUCK 8 YEARS OLD WITH <72,000 MILES. I LIVE IN THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE "SNOW BELT". MY MECHANIC SAYS HE SEES MULTIPLES OF THESE EVERY MONTH. HE HAS A NOTE ATTACHED TO THE LIFT FOR DIRECTIONS ON CONNECTIONS BECAUSE HE DOES IT SO OFTEN. I LOST ALL BRAKE FLUID TO THE GROUND AND HAD NO BRAKES! I HAD A 12,000 # TRAILER BEHIND ME. THANKFULLY THIS TRAILER HAS GREAT BRAKES OF ITS OWN OR I WOULD HAVE NEVER STOPPED (WAS ON A DOWNHILL)
DASHBOARD LIGHT FLICKERING. ABS,TIRE PRESSURE, AND AIR BAG LIGHTS COME ON AND OFF. RADIO COMES ON AND OFF. DID THIS FOR 40 MILES CONSTANTLY. OUTSIDE LIGHT WORKING FINE. SIGNAL LIGHT WOULD NOT WORK INSIDE, BUT WERE WORKING OUTSIDE. GAUGES (FUEL, SPEEDOMETER, THROTTLE, ETC) WOULD STOP WORKING OR WOULD STICK ON WHATEVER READING THEY WERE ON WHEN THE FLICKER HAPPENS.
I OWN A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO (VIN [XXX]). RECENTLY I HAD AN AIR BAG SERVICE WARNING WHICH WAS DEALER DIAGNOSED AS A FAILED SENSOR AND THE UNIT REPLACED. MY REVIEW OF THE FAILED PART SHOWED THE SAME DAMAGE AS THE FAILED SENSOR I HAD REPLACED LAST YEAR. THE DAMAGE INDICATES THE SENSOR CASES WERE CRACKED OPEN BY OVER TIGHTENING OF THE MOUNTING HARDWARE (REFER TO THE ATTACHED PHOTOGRAPH). THE SENSOR IS A HIGH VALUE PART (PART PLUS INSTALLATION $ 375) THAT HAS TO HAVE A HIGH RELIABILITY. THE CORROSION PRESENT AT THE CASE FAILURE MUST HAVE CAUSED THE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM TO SHOW A FAULT. SINCE THIS IS CRITICAL PART, AN INSTALLATION TORQUE MUST HAVE BEEN DESIGNATED AND THE TORQUE EITHER WAS WRONG OR IMPROPERLY ADJUSTED. TAKATA RECALL. MY AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER STARTING WHEN STOPED OR MOVING.
TAKATA RECALL. THE VEHICLE I OWN HAD A RECALL ISSUED IN AUGUST OF 2015.(GM RECALL 49152) THERE HAS BEEN NO NOTIFICATION OF AN AVAILABLE REPAIR MADE TO THE VEHICLE IN THE INTERIM, ALTHOUGH GM STATES THE VEHICLE IS "SAFE TO DRIVE" THEY EVIDENTLY CONSIDERED IT "SAFE TO DRIVE" WHEN MANUFACTURED AS WELL. I LIVE IN A HOT HUMID ENVIRONMENT (LOUISIANA) WHERE THE INFLATORS ARE DESCRIBED AS DEGRADING PREMATURELY. I UNDERSTAND THE MAGNITUDE OF THIS RECALL, BUT I WOULD APPRECIATE A RESOLUTION OF THIS ISSUE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT HE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAG DEFECT INDICATOR LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY COMES ON .
WHILE BACKING IN MY DRIVEWAY, APPLIED BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE BRAKE LINE TO THE RF WHEEL HAD RUSTED/CORRODED TO THE POINT THAT IT FAILED. ALL OF THE BRAKE LINES ARE IN THE SAME CONDITION AND WILL REQUIRE REPLACEMENT.

WHILE MERGING ONTO THE EXPRESS WAY I HAD A MAJOR LOSS OF POWER AND A SLIGHT SHAKE IN MY SILVERADO. MULTIPLE ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON (STABILITY TRACK, TRACTION CONTROL, AND BLINKING ENGINE LIGHT). ON MY WAY TO THE NEAREST GM DEALER, AT EVERY STOP LIGHT THE TRUCK LACKED POWER TO GET GOING WHEN THE PEDDLE WAS PUSHED, THEN IT WOULD KICK IN AND SCREECH THE TIRES. AFTER LEAVING THE TRUCK AT THE DEALER, I RECEIVE PHONE CALL FROM THE DEALER THE FOLLOWING DAY STATING THAT THE LIFTER (AFM LIFTER) HAD MALFUNCTIONED AND WAS STUCK. I ASKED WHAT CAUSES THIS (BECAUSE MY TRUCK ONLY HAS ABOUT 39,700 MILES ON IT), AND THE DEALER STATED IT WAS "AN ISSUE WITH THE DESIGN OF THE ENGINE." I THEN RESEARCHED THE INTERNET (GM FORUMS, SOCIAL MEDIA, NHTSA) TO FIND OUT THAT THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE. MANY OWNERS HAD THE BAD LIFTER REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, ONLY TO HAVE A DIFFERENT LIFTER GO BAD. I DECIDED TO HAVE THE DEALER REPLACE ALL MY LIFTERS, BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THEY RECOMMENDED AND THEY ADMITTED THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE I WOULD BE BACK IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE ON THE OTHER LIFTERS IF I DIDN'T REPLACE THEM. THE DEALER CONTACTED GM TO SEE IF ANY OF MY REPAIR COULD BE COVERED UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY BECAUSE I ONLY HAVE 39,700 MILES ON IT, BUT MY TRUCK WAS 8 YEARS OLD SO THEY SAID THEY WOULDN'T. I CONTACT GM TO SEE IF I COULD DIRECTLY GET ANYTHING COVERED SEEING I ONLY HAD 39,700 MILES, PLUS BOUGHT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT JUST EXPIRED LAST YEAR. I WAS TRANSFERRED THROUGH 5 DIFFERENT REPRESENTATIVES THAT ALL ADMITTED THAT THE LIFTER FAILURE IS "AN ISSUE, BUT NOT A RECALL." IF THEY KNOW ITS AN ISSUE, THE DEALERS KNOW ITS AN ISSUE, ITS A EXTREMELY COMMON ISSUE ALL ACROSS THE INTERNET, WHY WONT GM TAKE CARE OF IT? MY SILVERADO COST OVER $45,000 WHEN NEW, YOU THINK IT SHOULD LAST WELL OVER 100,000 MILES WITH NO ENGINE PROBLEMS. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE AND FOUND THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. LAST FALL 10/14 REPLACED ALL BRAKE LINES DUE TO CORROSION (97000 MILES). WHICH HAS BEEN MENTIONED NUMEROUS TIMES ALREADY. AFTER THAT ABS LIGHT CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY LOST BRAKES LAST WEEK TO IT TO THE SHOP THEY HAD IT FOR THE DAY EVERYTHING WORKED FINE. CONTINUED DRIVING LIGHT STARTED COMING BACK ON & BRAKES WERE ERRATIC. YESTERDAY WAS PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOT HAD NO BRAKES. IF THESE ARE KNOWN PROBLEMS WHY ISN'T ANYONE TAKING CARE OF IT. WHY YOU WOULD PUT UNTREATED BRAKE LINES ON A VEHICLE IN THE SALT DISTRICTS IS BEYOND ME. I HAD AN 1989 OLDSMOBILE WITH THE ORIGINAL LINE ON IT TIL 198,000 MILES. I ALSO REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AT 77,000 MILES DUE TO CORROSION OF THE LINES.($2700)
DRIVING SLOWLY UP TO A STOP SIGN COMING OUT OF THE TARGET STORE IN SHOREVIEW, MINNESOTA. THE ABS ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM ACTIVATED AND MADE THE TRUCK DIFFICULT TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WENT THROUGH THE STOP SIGN BUT DID NOT COLLIDE WITH ANY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ACCORDING TO MANY OTHER INCIDENCES DESCRIBED ONLINE, THE EXACT SAME THING IS HAPPENING TO OTHERS. IN THE NORTHERN "SALT BELT", RUST AND CORROSION GATHERS AROUND THE FRONT BRAKE SENSORS AND PULLS THEM UPWARDS SENDING THE WRONG SIGNAL TO THE COMPUTER. THERE IS ALREADY A RECALL ON SOME CHEVROLET TRUCKS PRE-2005 FOR THE VERY SAME REASON. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND PREVENTABLE IF GM WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM ONCE AND FOR ALL.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKES HAD TO BE USED IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE AND FOUND THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,707.
MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN SENSE THE DAY I BOUGHT THE TRUCK. I THEN RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON JULY 2016. I HAVE YET TO RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION TO FIX THAT PART BUT HAVE RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT THE COMPANY IS GOING BANKRUPT. WILL THIS AFFECT MY RECALL OR WHEN WILL PARTS BE MADE AVAILABLE TO FIX MY ISSUES? I KEEP CALLING MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY HAVE NOT GOTTEN THAT PART, I AM GETTING IRATE ABOUT THE FACT THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PASSENGERS IN MY TRUCK BECAUSE OF THE AIR BAG.

MY ISSUE IS WITH THE OIL PRESSURE IN MY 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 4X4. THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON AND I CAN HEAR THE LIFTERS TAPPING. I GOT ONLINE AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE. IT APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH EITHER A DEFECTIVE OIL PUMP OR A SCREEN IN THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR CLOGGING. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BECAUSE IT EFFECTS LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE.

ABS UNIT ON FRONT BRAKES MALFUNCTIONS AT LOW SPEED. THE ABS SENSORS MISTAKENLY RELEASES BRAKE PRESSURE, AS VEHICLE SLOWS TO A STOP, THINKING THE WHEEL IS SKIDDING. THIS RELEASE OF BRAKE PRESSURE LENGTHENS THE STOPPING DISTANCE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A LOW SPEED CRASH.

BRAKE LINES HAD CORRODED AND A PIN HOLE LEAK ALLOWED BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK OUT OF THE SYSTEM WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. BRAKING ABILITY WAS GREATLY REDUCED. I WAS TOWING A BOAT AT THE TIME, MAKING THE FAILURE EVEN MORE DANGEROUS. INSPECTION SUBSEQUENTLY SHOWED THAT ALL FOUR LINES WHICH RUN FORWARD FROM THE ABS MODULE TO THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD SEVERAL AREAS OF SEVERE CORROSION. ALL THE LINES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE USE OF CARBON STEEL BRAKE LINES WAS A POOR DESIGN DECISION. GM HAS SUBSEQUENTLY IN 2008 UPGRADED THE MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION, BUT OWNERS OF OLDER VEHICLES ARE AT RISK, AND SUBJECT TO AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR BILL.

MOVING MY TRUCK FROM THE BACK YARD TO THE FRONT YARD, TRAVELING LESS THAN 3 MPH, NO ONE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED FIRST AND THEN ABOUT 2 SECONDS LATER THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THE CHEVY EMBLEM ON THE STEERING WHEEL EMBEDDED ITSELF INTO MY RIGHT HAND NEARLY BREAKING MY THUMB. AFTER COMING TO STOP, I NOTICED THE SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS ON BOTH SIDES HAD ALSO BEEN DEPLOYED AND THEY ARE NOW LOCKED UP TIGHT. THE TRUCK DID NOT HIT ANYTHING. ONE RIGHT NEAR THE AIRBAG AND THE SAFETY CONCERN IS THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY PROPERLY IN CASE OF COLLISION WHICH COULD LEAD TO SEVERE INJURY. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THOUSANDS OF GM VEHICLES SUFFERING FROM THE SAME ISSUES. GM IS IGNORING THE PROBLEM AND REFUSING TO COVER REPAIRS BECAUSE NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. HOW CAN A RECALL BE ISSUED IF THEY ARE DENYING AND COVERING UP THE PROBLEM. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FIRST AND FOREMOST.
