"TAKATA RECALL"I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2015. STILL NO REMEDY YET IS UNACCEPTABLE! WHAT IS GM WAITING ON? I SUGGEST THEY BE ORDERED TO STOP PRODUCING CARS UNTIL THEY FIX THE ONES THAT ARE ON THE ROAD ALREADY. PERHAPS THAT WOULD GET THEM TO PRODUCE A REMEDY FOR THIS LIFE THREATENING SAFETY PROBLEM!
WE RECEIVED NOTICE JULY 2015. WE HAVE YET TO GET APPROVAL FOR PARTS TO GET THIS ITEM REPAIRED. WE HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAIL! WE OUR RETIRED AND TRAVEL ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. THIS DEFECT IS CONSTANTLY ON OUR MIND. WITH THE MILES WE TRAVEL WE STAND A GREATER RISK OF AN ACCIDENT OCCURRING. WHO DO WE TURN TO? THE MEDIA?

WHEN LOCKS ARE ACTIVATED WITH KEY FOB, DOORS CAN NOT BE UNLOCKED WITHOUT USING KEY FOB. A PERSON COULD BE TRAPPED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. CHEVROLET DEALERS DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS.

TO DATE I ONLY HAVE 60KMI. ON MY 2008 SILVERADO. ITS IMMACULETLY MAINTAINED. SO FAR BOTH AIRBAG SENSORS HAVE GONE BAD AND I'VE LOST CRUISE CONTROLL. IVE ALSO LOST THE DRIVER SIDE SPEAKER FUNCTIONALITY.

TAKATA RECALL. I NOW THAT THIS RECALL HAS BEEN IN EFFECT FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. I HAVE TRIED TO HAVE AIR BAG REPLACED BUT EVERY TIME I GO TO CHEVROLET DEALERSHIPS, I'M TOLD THAT NO BAGS ARE AVAILABLE. I HAVE TO DRIVE VEHICLE AND MY SAFETY COULD BE IN DANGER. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT IS TO BE DONE
MY FATHER EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH HIS 2008 CHEVY SILVERADO, HE HAD THE SAME SWITCH PROBLEM THAT OTHER CHEVY VEHICLES HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR. HAVING THE TRUCK CHECKED OUT BY A GMC DEALER HE WAS TOLD HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT CORRECTED AS IT WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THEY TOLD HIM TO USE ONLY THE KEY AND BE SURE NOTHING ELSE IS ATTACHED TO THE KEY. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL STATED ABOUT THE OTHER VEHICLES THAT ARE ON THE RECALL LIST. HIS PROBLEM IS THE SAME AS THOSE VEHICLES. SO WHY NO RECALL ON HIS VEHICLE?
I AM WRITING TO YOU TODAY TO EXPRESS MY CONCERN OVER CRACKED DASHBOARDS DUE TO A FAULTY PRODUCT OF GM/CHEVROLET. I HAVE A HUGE CRACK IN MY DASHBOARD WHICH IS NOT CAUSED BY MAINTENANCE OR THE SUN. THIS VEHICLE ALSO HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT THAT COULD OF CAUSED THIS. I HAVE 3 OTHER PEOPLE AT MY WORK THAT HAS THIS SAME PROBLEM IN THE SAME SPOT. YOU CAN ALSO READ ABOUT SEVERAL OTHER STORIES ONLINE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. GM REFUSES TO PUT OUT A RECALL TO FIX THEIR FAULTY PRODUCT. I FEAR THAT IN AN ACCIDENT THIS WILL CAUSE PIECES OF THE DASHBOARD TO FLY ABOUT THE VEHICLE CAUSING FURTHER INJURIES TO A PASSENGER IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS.

DASHBOARD CRACKING OVER INSTRUMENT PANEL & PASSENGER AIR BAG, THIS ALSO HAPPENED TO MY 2012 SUBURBAN AS WELL. GM WON'T REPAIR OR ISSUE A RECALL.
DASH HAS CRACKED ALL THE WAY FROM THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE TO THE STEERING WHEEL// THERE IS A HUGE HOLE IN IT.
I AM DISAPPOINTED WITH GM FOR FIRST TIME EVER. I HAD A 01 THAT I GOT 350,000 MILES ON IT AND IT HAD ALL ORIGINAL PARTS. THEN I BUY A 08 AND I HAVE OIL LEAKS FOUR WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT ON MY ENGINE RUNS ROUGH AND MY AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON. I DON'T GET IT AND TRUST ME I JUST SAW A WEBSITE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINTS ABOUT WHAT I HAVE WHEN IS GM GOING TO SAY OH [XXX] WE HAVE ISSUES WITH THIS YEAR MAYBE WE SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT . TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE IN PARK, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO REVERSE INDEPENDENTLY. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ROLL AWAY AND RAN OVER THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A FRACTURED LEFT SIDE COLLAR BONE AND SHOULDER AND STOMACH BRUISES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE POLICE WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. UPDATED 6/4/15*CN
DOOR LOCKS STICK WHEN HOT OUTSIDE AND BREAK LIGHTS WON'T GO OFF.. I HAVE BEEN PULLED OVER BY POLICE AND GIVEN A WARNING TO GET LIGHTS FIXED.. I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP THEY THINK IT COULD BE THE WIRING HARNESS OR DON'T KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING IT.. BUT IT'S DANGEROUS TO DRIVE
DASHBOARD AROUND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS CRACKING WITH SHARP EDGES TO THE CRACKS THAT COULD CUT THE AIRBAG IF DEPLOYED OR SHATTER CAUSING PERSONAL INJURY.
WHILE DRIVING AT SPEED DOOR LOCKS WILL ACTUATE BACK AND FORTH WITH ALL DASH LIGHTS FLASHING. EVENTUALLY CAR LOSES ALL POWER, ENGINE DIES, AND HAVE TO PULP TO SIDE OF INTERSTATE WITHOUT POWER BRAKES OR PROPULSION. I WAS PERSONALLY ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A SEMI AT APPROX 60 MPH. FURTHERMORE, IT IS KNOW THAT ALL DOOR PANELS IN THIS VEHICLE RETAIN MOISTURE. THIS HAS KILLED ALL SPEAKERS AND I GUESS IT COULD BE A POTENTIAL CAUSE OF THE AFORE MENTIONED PROBLEM.
VEHICLE ROCKER PANELS RUSTED ALL THE WAY THROUGH ,NOT MUCH STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY LEFT BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SIDES. VEHICLE HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED , WASHED AND RINSED OF ANY ROAD SALT ETC. DAILEY!! DURING LIFE OF VEHICLE. OTHER AREAS, WHEEL WELLS ,STOCK TOWING HITCH RECIEVER(TOWING PACKAGE) ,CAB CORNERS ,COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH!!! FRAME ALSO BEGINING TO SHOW DEEP PITTING IN AREAS THAT YOU CAN PUSH A SCREW DRIVER RIGHT THROUGH RUSTED AREA. METAL USED FOR STRUCTURAL AND BODY COMPONENTS OF THIS VEHICLE TOTALLY JUNK!! ALSO 2 YEARS AGO I KEPT SMELLING GASOLINE WHEN EXITING VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING, LONG STORY SHORT, HAD TO REMOVE TRUCK BED AND ON TOP OF FUEL TANK COMING OUT ARE METAL TUBES , WHICH ARE PART OF FUEL PUMP INSIDE TANK, TO WHICH THE FUEL LINES ARE CONNECTED TO, WELL ONE OF THE METAL TUBES WAS TOTALLY RUSTED OFF, WHICH WAS THE FUEL RETURN LINE? WHICH WAS WHY I WAS SMELLING GAS, WHICH WAS LEAKING OUT VERY CLOSE IF NOT ON THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WHEN DRIVING. I 'M NO EXPERT ,BUT I THINK THIS MIGHT QUALIFY AS A SAFETY ISSUE. THANK YOU
THERE WAS AN EXPLOSION AND SEAT BELTS TIGHTENED UP,THE DEPLOYER FOR AIR BAGS WENT OFF, LUCKILY THE AIR BAGS DIDN'T GO OFF OR I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. I COMPLAINED TO GM BECAUSE THERE WAS A CALL BACK IN 2010 OF FAULTY SENSORS GETTING CORRODED BECAUSE THEY ARE LOCATED IN A DAMP AREA. GM STATED THAT THEY WERE NO LONGER RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE IT WAS OVER FIVE YEARS OLD AND OVER 100,000 MILES. BUT MY CONCERN IS HOW DANGEROUS THIS IS WHEN YOU ARE JUST DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND THEY GO OFF CAUSING A ACCIDENT. I WANT GM TO PAY FOR REPAIRS SO THAT I CAN HAVE SEAT BELTS AGAIN BUT THEY CLAIM NO RESPONSIBILITY AND WANT ME TO PAY $1200.00 TO $1500.00 TO HAVE SEAT BELTS AND AIR BAGS AGAIN. *TR

THE DASH ON MY 2008 SILVERADO IS CRACKED. THE CRACK IS LOCATED AT THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CRACK IS LOCATED AT THE TOP LEFT SIDE OF THE AIRBAG OPENING. I AM AFRAID THAT IF THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED THE CRACKED DASH WILL BECOME SHRAPNEL AND KILL, OR SERIOUSLY INJURE PEOPLE IN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK.

I HAVE BOUGHT VEHICLES SINCE I WAS 17 YEARS OLD. I HAVE NEVER HAD THE WHOLE LEFT SIDE ELECTRONICS GO BAD LIKE IN MY 2008 SILVERADO, LTZ. THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT GO UP OR DOWN. EITHER SIDE. MY MIRRORS WOULD NOT COME IN. EXTENDED CAB WINDOWS WOULD NOT WORK . I REPLACED LEFT DOOR ELECTRONICS PANEL, CHEV. DEALER MECHANIC TRIED TO SYNCRONIZE WITH VEHICLE COMPUTER ($130.00) FOUND BROKEN WIRES IN HARNESS. MECHANIC TRIED TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND SHUT DRIVERS DOOR. OPENED DOOR AND THE WIRES HAD BROKEN AGAIN PLUS IT SHORTED OUT A FUSE PANEL.A NEW HARNESS AND PANEL WAS ORDERED. A WEEK LATER THE NEW ITEMS WERE INSTALLED ( $606.89). THE MECHANIC THEN SAID THAT THE LEFT REAR DOOR WAS SHORTING OUT AND IT NEEDED A NEW HARNESS ($500.99). I WAITED ANOTHER WEEK AND THIS HARNESS WAS INSTALLED ON 2-13-15. IF I HAD BEEN IN A WRECK AND THE DOORS COULD NOT BE OPENED AND I COULD NOT GET MY WINDOWS DOWN I COULD HAVE BURNT UP OR THE FIRST RESPONDERS WOULD HAVE HAD TO CUT ME OUT OF MY TRUCK. THIS HAPPENED TO ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITH MY WHOLE LEFT SIDE ELECTRONICS GOING DEAD.
