CRACKED DASHBOARD ON PASSENGER SIDE OF TRUCK WHERE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS STORED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND THE KEY REMAINED IN THE START POSITION. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V827000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
CRACKING PLASTIC DASH ON UPPER LEFT CORNER OF PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. SEEMS THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE SAME ISSUE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY ROAD GOING ABOUT 40 MPH WHEN THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG DEPLOYED IN MY TRUCK. I DID NOT HIT OR COLLIDE WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE OR PROPERTY, AND NO VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH ME.
WE HAS OUR TRUCK IN FOR REPAIRS 5 WEEKS PRIOR DUE TO THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMING ON. IT WAS REPAIRED BUT NOW THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. WE BROUGHT IT BACK IN AND NOW ARE BEING TOLD THE WIRES ARE CORRODED PROPBABLY FROM MOISTURE (WE LIVE IN THE DESERT WHERE IT DOES NOT RAIN, NOR IS IT EXPOSED TO MOISTURE). THE AIRBAG HAS TO BE REPLACED AND IS COSTING US OVER $800.
DASHBOARD HAS DEVELOPED CRACKS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ALONG THE TOP BY THE AIRBAG. DASHBOARD ALSO HAD DEVELOPED A LARGE CRACK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BY THE BEHIND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THESE CRACKS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPING OVER THE PAST 6-8 MONTHS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE AIR PRESSURE WAS DEPLETING IN ALL FOUR TIRES. THE CONTACT PLACED AIR IN THE TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE RIM WAS CAUSING THE TIRES TO DEFLATE DUE TO CORROSION. THE WHEELS WERE REPLACED. THE WHEELS WERE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DASH IS CRACKING AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND THE ABOVE THE DRIVERS SIDE SPEEDOMETER. THIS POSES A DANGER TO ALL OCCUPANTS IF A CRASH WERE TO HAPPEN AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WERE TO GO OFF. THIS WOULD SEND SHARDS OF BROKEN PLASTIC DASHBOARD EVERYWHERE. UNSAFE TO SAY THE LEAST.
ON BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SIDE, THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED. ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THE CRACK IS LOCATED NEAR THE AIRBAG AND IN THE MIDDLE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE NEAR THE HUMP.
WHILE LEAVING OUR HOUSE TO GO TO WORK THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIGNAL/ ANTI SKID DASHBOARD CAME ON AND THE TRUCK REFUSED TO GO. IT HAD NOT POWER. WE HAD TO REPLACE THE SENSOR. AFTER THAT THE STABILITRAK AND THE ANTI SKID AND THE ABS LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON TAKING AWAY MY ANTI LOCK BRAKES AND MAKING MY CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I ALSO HAUL MY HORSE SO IT IS TOO DANGEROUS TO MOVE MY HORSE ANYWHERE WHEN THIS SERVICE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. IT HAS NOT COME ON WHILE HAULING ANYTHING. IT COMES ON RANDOMLY WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WEIGHT IN OR ON THE TRUCK. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES WITHIN THE LAST MONTH.
DASHBOARD ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AROUND THE AIR BAG PANEL IS CRACKING IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS. VEHICLE IS GARAGE KEPT ALTHOUGH EXPOSED TO SUNLIGHT DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS WHILE AT WORK.
EVERY TIME WE CONTACT A DEALER TO GET OUR AIRBAGS CHANGED OUT WE ARE TOLD THEY DON'T HAVE ANY TO CHANGE OUT SO NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO RECTIFY THE DEFECT AIRBAGS IN MY TRUCK.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. LOAN STAR CHEVROLET (18900 NORTHWEST FWY, JERSEY VILLAGE, TX 77065 (281) 653-6119) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WERE NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
DASH IS CRACKING BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COVER AND I WORY THAT IT MAY BECOME SHRAPNEL IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS.
TAKATA RECALL, GM HAS NO FIX FOR THIS. THEY SENT OUT RECALL AND ARE PLAYING THE NUMBERS HOPING NOT TO HAVE TO FIX THIS. BEEN OVER 2 YEARS NOW. TAKATA ALSO SENT BANKRUPTCY NOTICE TO ME.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE THROTTLE WAS ALSO STICKING AND THE ENGINE INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATING. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WOULD NOT RESTART FOR TEN MINUTES. THIS WAS A RECURRING FAILURE. THE CONTACT HAD TO PUSH THE ONSTAR BUTTON, WHICH PROVIDED THE CODES OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE CODES STATED THAT THE PPS THROTTLE SYSTEM WAS FAILING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT LOCATE A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,918. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
WE WERE MAKING A STOP AT THE LIGHT , WHEN A 18-WHEELER DIDN'T STOP AND HIT US IN THE BACK ,PUSHING US TOWARDS THE BUS THAT WAS IN FRONT OF US , MAKING THE GLASS OF THE BACK BREAK AND THROWING ALL THE CRYSTALS IN OUR BODY AND CLOTHES ,THE AIR BAGS NEVER OPEN , THE FRONT SEATS WERE BROKEN AND 3 OF THE 4 DOORS COULDN'T CLOSE ANYMORE, THE DRIVER TRIED TO MAKE A MOVE TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT , BUT HE COULD NOT , BECAUSE WE WERE STUCK, WHEN WE REALIZE THERE WERE NO MAJOR INJURY, WE STAYED UNTIL THE RED CROSS CAME TO CHECK OUR CONDITION,BUT THERE WERE CRYSTALS EVERYWHERE SO WE COULDN'T MOVE WITHOUT HURTING OURSELVES. TAKATA RECALL G.M. #2049151 NHTSA #16V381 AIR BAG LIGHT COMING ON AND OFF AT WILL. PASSENGER SIDE OF DASH LIFTING REPORTED TO KUNI CHEVROLET IN MARCH 2015 IN MARCH OF 2015, WAS TOLD THEY WOULD HAVE TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT AND WOULD BE IN TOUCH THEY NEVER CALLED. THEN IN AUGUST 2015 I CAME IN THEY PROVIDED A TAG FOR THE MIRROR WITH THE MILES WRITTEN ON IT. THEN I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOUILD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND WAS ASKED TO LEAVE.SINCE THEN I HAVE RETURNED TO DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ISSUE OF THE MANUFACTURE NOT G.M. THEN AGAIN I MADE AN APPOINTMENT THEY TOLD ME I WAS NOT ON FILE AND THEY DID NOT SELL THE VEHICLE TO ME, SO THEN I BROUGHT PROOF THAT IN FACT I HAD PURCHASED VEHICLE AND HAD PREVIOUSLY HAD BE IN FOR SERVICE. THEY THEN TOLD ME IN ORDER TO RESOLVE THE AIR BAG ISSUE THEY WOULD BE HAPPY TO SELL ME A NEW VEHICLE. { IF THE MANUFACTURER HAS FAILED TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL FOR YOUR VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER } PLEASE CONTACT THE NHTSA SAFETY HOT LINE \,I BELIEVE THAT FROM MARCH OF 2015 UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2019 IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME. FIRST OF THREE VEHICLE COLLISIONS THIS YEAR INVOLVING CHEVROLET SILVERADOS THAT HAVE CAUGHT FIRE AFTER INVOLVED IN FRONTAL IMPACTS. VEHICLE TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON SR 58 IN LANE COUNTY, OREGON. INVOLVED IN SECONDARY COLLISION WITH A TOYOTA PICKUP TRUCK THAT HAD BEEN STRUCK BY A LOOSE TRUCK TRACTOR WHEEL. THE IMPACT BY THE WHEEL CAUSED THE TOYOTA TO ENCROACH INTO THE PATH OF THE CHEVROLET. THE OCCUPANTS OF CHEVROLET WERE ABLE TO EXTRICATE THEMSELVES. THE VEHICLE SUBSEQUENTLY CAUGHT FIRE AND SUFFERED EXTENSIVE FIRE DAMAGE.
IN (ALWAYS AND ONLY) VERY COLD WEATHER WARNING MESSAGES APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD WARNING OF TRACTION CONTROL/ABS FAILURE. ON A SNOW COVERED ROAD THE REAR AXEL SENT POWER TO THE WHEEL WITH THE LEAST TRACTION AND THE TRUCK STARTED SLIDING BACKWARDS. ABS BRAKES FAIL TO WORK AS ANTI-LOCK. THIS FAILURE OCCURS WHENEVER THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 25 DEGREES. THE FAILURE OCCURS AT ANY SPEED AND IS PRECEDED WITH DIFFICULTY SHIFTING OUT OF PARK. NOTE: I DID A GOOGLE SEARCH ON THIS ISSUE AND FOUND IT HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR SEVERAL YEARS ACROSS GENERAL MOTORS BRAND VEHICLES. *TR

THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK AND SPINE INJURIES AND WHIPLASH THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL: THE TRADE IN VALUE ON MY METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO WAS DRASTICALLY REDUCED. IT COST ME NEARLY $5000 IN ACTUAL VALUE, AS A DEALER CANNOT RESELL A TRADED IN VEHICLE WITH AN ACTIVE RECALL AND MUST SEND IT TO BE AUCTIONED. SO I HAVE SUFFERED BOTH SEVERE EMOTIONAL DISTRESS FROM CONSTANTLY BEING IN FEAR THE AIRBAG IS GOING TO RANDOMLY BLOW MY NUTS OFF, AND CRIPPLING UNDUE MONETARY HARDSHIP BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE OF TAKATA OR GM TO RESOLVE THIS RECALL. WHICHT HAS BEEN ACTIVE FOR 5 [XXX] YEARS I MIGHT ADD. MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY BECAUSE OF MY ANXIETY TO RISK DEATH BY AIRBAG DECAPITATION!! TAKATA INFLATORS: I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE 2 YEARS AGO AND GM IS STILL SAYING THEY DON'T HAVE A SOLUTION YET. MY QUESTION IS DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO BE INJURED OR KILLED BEFORE GM WILL REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE INFLATORS. IF THE AIR BAG INFLATORS INSTALLED ARE KNOWN TO BE DEFECTIVE, THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPLACE THEM.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ADDING OIL TO THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE TRANSMISSION DIP STICK TUBE HAD SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE DIP STICK TUBE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
I WAS DRIVING INTO THE PARKING GARAGE AT WORK TO A PARKING SPOT. AS I BRAKED AND SLOWED TURNING INTO THE PARKING SPOT THE TRUCK ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE SUPPORT BEAM. AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND THE TRUCK SUFFERED QUITE A BIT OF DAMAGES TO THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT END. I AM UNSURE OF SPEED AT TIME OF ACCIDENT. *TR

TAKATA RECALL GMC HILLTOP. CONTINUES TO INFORM ME THERE IS NO RESOLUTION FOR REPLACING THE AIRBAG
MY PROBLEM STARTED AROUND OCTOBER 25, 2014, A WEEK BEFORE I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP.. THE BACK BRAKES STARTED TO CHATTER WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES. IT WAS COMING FROM THE BACK BRAKES NOT THE FRONT.. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE INSPECTION SHOWED THE LR WHEEL CYLINDER LEAKING HEAVILY AND CONTAMINATION SHOES. RR ALSO SEEPING. NEC TO REPLACE REAR WHEEL CYLINDERS AND BLEED SYSTEM. REPLACED REAR SHOES AND CLEANED AFFECTED AREAS. RESURFACED DRUMS AND REASSEMBLED. I PAID $514.74 FOR THIS, AND WITH A REWARD CARD, I GOT $15.00 OFF, BRINGING THE TOTAL TO $499.74. I TALKED TO THE SERVICE MGR. FROM HAMILTON CHEVROLET ON 11/7/14, AND HE SAID HE WOULD SEE IF HE COULD GET ME A REFUND FOR HALF OF THE CHARGE, AND SHOULD GET THE CHECK FROM GM IN ABOUT TWO WKS. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A GM PROBLEM, AND WITH ONLY 35, 574 MILES ON MY TRUCK THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. I AM A 73 YR. OLD RETIRE, AND HAVING TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR REALLY SET ME BACK. I HAVE OWNED MANY GM VEHICLES, AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS. I TAKE CARE OF MY VEHICLES, AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE SERVICED REGULARLY. ON OCT 4TH, 2014 I WAS TRAVELING FROM SAN ANGELO, TX TO SAN ANTONIO, TX, IN MY 2011 3500 CHEVROLET DIESEL PICKUP, PULLING OUR 5TH WHEEL CAMPER. WHEN I NEARED JUNCTION, TX I COULD SMELL AN ODOR OF FUEL. ON I-10 EB MILE 456, I NOTICED THAT MY FUEL GAUGE WAS RAPIDLY DROPPING. WHEN I LEFT JUNCTION, THE GAUGE READ HALF FULL. AT MILE MARKER 497, I PULLED INTO A REST STOP, BECAUSE THE FUEL GAUGE HAD DROPPED TO THE EMPTY MARK. I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK AND COULD SEE THE DIESEL POURING OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE MOTOR. WHEN THE DRIPPING STOPPED I ATTEMPTED TO START THE TRUCK, BUT IT WOULD NOT START. THE STARTER MOTOR WAS RUNNING, BUT THE FUEL TANK WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. IN THAT DISTANCE THE TRUCK SHOULD HAVE USED FIVE GALLONS OF DIESEL PULLING THE TRAILER. WHICH MEANS THAT ABOUT 14 GALLONS WERE DUMPED ONTO THE HIGHWAY WITHIN 40 MILES. MY TRUCK WAS TOWED TO CECIL ATKISSION CHEVROLET IN KERRVILLE, TX. THE DIESEL TECHNICIAN THERE TOLD ME THAT MINE WOULD BE THE 4TH DIESEL HE RECENTLY WORKED ON WITH A SIMILAR ISSUE. HE EVEN SHOWED ME ANOTHER DIESEL TRUCK THAT HE WAS CURRENTLY WORKING ON, ALSO WITH A FUEL LEAK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED ABOVE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS A VIBRATION COMING FROM THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DRUM DETERIORATED AND THE BRAKE SPRING WAS FRACTURED. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE FRONT ROTORS, THE FRONT PADS, THE REAR DRUMS, THE REAR BRAKE SHOES AND THE SPRING KIT. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE RPMS INCREASED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT INTO OVERDRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
I WAS DRIVING AND WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INSTEAD OF SLOWING DOWN AND COMING TO A STOP CAUSING IT TO COLLIDE WITH THE BRICK BUILDING I DO NOT WHAT THE TRUCK SPEEDED UP TO BUT BOTH OF THE AIRBAGS WENT OFF AND I MISSED A LITTLE 5 YEAR OLD GIRL BY ABOUT 2 INCHES. *TR
MY 2011 SILVERADOS DASH IS CRACKING RIGHT BY THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THIS IS HAPPENING ON 2007 TO 2013 GENERAL MOTORS VEHICLES. I BELIEVE THIS COULD CAUSE PIECES OF THE DASH TO BREAK APART WHEN THE AIR BAG GOES OFF.
I WAS DRIVING MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL AND THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN ON ITS OWN. AND WHEN I PUSHED THE GAS IT JUMPED AND SHIFTED HARD, HAD TO CRUISE ALL THE WAY HOME VEHICLE WOULDN'T START BACK UP. STABILITY AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON ENGINE REDUCED SPEED AND CUT OFF. *TR
