The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact noticed that the front and rear driver’s side floor mat was wet. In addition, the entire rear seats were also wet. The contact stated that water was entering the vehicle. The contact contacted the dealer and was informed to take the vehicle in to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 135,000. The VIN was not provided.
WHILE DRIVING ON A TWO LANE ROAD AT ~45 MPH,I STRUCK A DEER ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE TRUCK. THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED BUT DID NOT COME OUT OF THE CENTER STEERING. AIR BAG DUST WAS COMING OUT OF THE BACK OF THE STEERING WHEEL, NO AIR BAG. I WAS VERY CONFUSED. THE FRONT BUMPER WAS PUSHED IN ~2.5 INCHES. I AM FORTUNATE THAT I DID NOT HIT ANOTHER CAR, SINCE THE AIRBAG MALFUNCTIONED ON DEPLOYMENT.
TAKATA RECAL I CALLED A CHEVROLET DEALER TO SEE WHEN THE AIRBAGS WOULD BE FIXED. I WAS BASICALLY TOLD NEVER. " WE WILL NEVER HAVE THE REPAIR PARTS. I DRIVE THIS TRUCK EVERY DAY AND WONDER WHY MY GOVERNMENT DOES NOT MAKE GM REPAIR THESE HORRIBLE AIRBAGS. IT WAS ALMOST AS IF THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS LAUGHING AT ME FOR WANTING THE REPAIR, STATED IT IS JUST A FEW PELLETS AND PROBABLY WANT HURT YOU THE DRIVER BUT MIGHT THE PASSAGE "WHO KNOWS"! I WANT THIS REPAIRED AND WANT TO KNOW WHY 8 YEARS LATER THAT I CANNOT GET IT REPAIRED?

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE ENGINE SOUNDED HIGH AND MISFIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT VARIOUS UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE ENGINE MISFIRED. ONE OF THE MECHANICS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CORNERSTONE CHEVROLET (763-220-1548, LOCATED AT 1005 HIGHWAY 25 S, MONTICELLO, MN 55362) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED FOUR OF THE LIFTERS IN THE CYLINDERS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY PARTIALLY REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,500. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE MOUNTS ON MY CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 TWICE, NOW I'M GETTING READY TO REPLACE FOR A THIRD TIME. THE ENGINE MOUNTS MUST HAVE A DEFECT WITH THE MATERIAL THAT ARE USED TO MAKE THEM.
STABILITY CONTROL ALARM BLINKING ,TRACTION CONTROL ALARM BLINKING,, SPEEDOMETER GOING ERRATIC, BRAKE LITE STAYING IN ALARM,CRUISE CONTROL DROPPING OUT,POWER LOSS TEMPORARILY. SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS (AUTO XMISSION) WAS VERY ROUGH.THIS WAS AN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT GREW STEADILY WORSE. GM DEALERSHIP HAD TO REPLACE THE EBCM, AND THE CHASSIS WIRINGHARNESS. SEVERE CORROSION. VEHICLE NEVER DRIVEN IN SALTED ROADS,NEVER FLOODED,NEVER DRIVEN THRU WATER. THE LOCATION OF THE EBCM IS POORLY DESIGNED. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN A MODULE THIS CORRODED,AS IT WAS IN PIECES WHEN THEY PULLED AND OPENED IT. I WAITED 4 MONTHS TO GET IT FIXED, AS A EARLY MECHANIC SAW AN ELECTRICAL FAULT, BUT COULDN'T PINPOINT IT AS IT WASN'T STAYING IN FAULT. HE SAID IT NEEDED TO GET WORSE BEFORE IT COULD BE PROPERLY DIAGNOSED. HAD TO BRING TO DEALER FOR REPAIR AS IT GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. COST ME $1878.36 TO GET REPAIRED.
A CRACKED HAS FORMED IN THE DASHBOARD ABOVE THE LEFT SIDE OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THE CRACK JUST APPEARED.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE TRAVELING AT 45MPH ON A 4 LANE ROAD. ANOTHER VEHICLE DID NOT YIELD AND I STRUCK THE VEHICLE IN THE SIDE WHILE HE WAS STATIONARY. DURING IMPACT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
TAKATA RECALL ... I WAS IN PROCESS OF GETTING A VALUE ON MY VEHICLE THRU KBB.COM AND KELLY BLUE BOOK HAD 5 RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. ONE OF THEM WAS THE TAKATA RECALL. NO ONE HAS NOTIFIED ME AND APPARENTLY THEY KNEW SINCE 2016. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY FAMILY SINCE MY WIFE IS THE ONE WHO DRIVES THE TRUCK ALL THE TIME WITH MY 3 CHILDREN. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I NEED TO. THANKS....
LAST YEAR THE AIR BAG LIGHT WENT ON MY 2011 SILVERADO WITH 80,000 MILES. I HAD IT IN A GM BODY SHOP FOR UNRELATED REPAIR AND ASKED THEM TO DIAGNOSE IT. THEY CONNECTED THEIR READER AND COULD NOT FIND A THE PROBLEM AND DIRECTED ME TO THE DEALER. I INVESTIGATED FURTHER LAST WEEK AND FOUND BOTH FRONT DISINTEGRATED FROM CORROSION. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WHO COULD FIND NO RECORD OF SUCH A PROBLEM, THEY REFERRED ME TO GM WITH THE SAME RESULT. THIS IS AN LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND I FIND THIS TYPE OF EARLY FAILURE OF 2 IDENTICAL PARTS UNREASONABLE.
OUTSTANDING SAFETY RECALL NEVER REPAIRED. I DRIVE MY YOUNG CHILDREN IN THIS VEHICLE AND I FEEL ITS NOT SAFE FOR THEM. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO FIX IT. *TR

IT WILL CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING CITY STREETS AND AT HIGH SPEEDS AND THE LOCK BUTTONS WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK REPEATEDLY WHILE DRIVING DASHBOARDLIGHTS AND GAUGES GO OFF AND ON LIKE A PINBALL MACHINE, ALL WHILE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR CITY STREETS. SOMETIMES LOSING ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS OR HIGHWAY.
LEAKING FUEL AT FUEL PUMP AT TANK LINE RUSTED AWAY!
ACCORDING TO NHTSA MY VEHICLE HAS AN OUTSTANDING RECALL . WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN TAKEN CARE OF YET ? I'VE ASKED MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE'S NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE.
RECALL ON AIRBAGS. NO REMEDY FROM GM. DISCOVERED ON MY OWN THAT GOOD 2012 AIRBAGS HAVE SAME PART NUMBER AS MY RECALLED 2011 AIRBAGS. DEALER WILL NOT INSTALL GOOD 2012 AIRBAGS IN MY TRUCK. I WANT YOU TO DEMAND THAT GM BE ORDERED TO REPLACE MY RECALLED AIRBAGS WITH GOOD 2012 AIRBAGS.
BATTERY DIED DUE TO HEADLIGHTS COMING ON WHILE CAR WAS PARKED. LIGHTS CAN NOT BE SHUT OFF FROM SWITCH, OPENING THE HOOD I DETECTED ELECTRICAL SMELL. I REMOVED THE FUSE BOX COVER AND NOTICED WATER COLLECTING AND STAINS. I PULLED SEVERAL FUSES AND FOUND THREE THAT MELTED. ALL THIS HAPPENED AFTER A ICE STORM FOLLOWED BY A WARMING UP AND MELTING TREND THE WATER COLLECTED ON THE FENDER BRACE AND LEAKED INTO UNDER HOOD FUSE BLOCK. I REPLACED THE FUSE BLOCK AND ALL IS OK. THOUGH FUSES WERE MELTED APART THEY STILL MADE CONTACT AND EASILY COULD HAVE STARTED A FIRE. I DRILLED HOLES INTO FENDER BRACES AND REDIRECTED THE WATER.
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START VEHICLE I STOP LEAVE IT IN START POSITION AND IT WILL START BY ITSELF WHEN NOT ATTEMPTING TO START. AFTER THIS WHEN PUT INTO GEAR IT WILL SHUT OFF WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
STABILTRAK WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. SHORTLY THEREAFTER AN INTERMITTENT ELECTRIC POWER STEERING PROBLEM AROSE, FOUND IT DIFFICULT TO STEER VEHICLE. OBVIOUS STEERING ASSIST FAILURE DURING A DROP IN VOLTAGE, AND THEN RETURN, WHICH CREATES UNMANAGEABLE AND DANGEROUS VEHICLE, RANDOM SURGES OCCURRING. CONTACTED GM FOR POSSIBLE RECALL? NON-EXISTENT. WE ARE FACED WITH A HUGE AUTO REPAIR BILL.
UPON DRIVING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE SERVICE STABILITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL MESSAGES. THE TRUCK HAD MINIMAL POWER WHEN STEPPING ON GAS AND TRUCK WOULD JERK. WHEN IDLING ENGINE IS LOUD AND SHAKES.
WHILE DRIVING, THE STABILTRAK,ABS LIGHTS COME ON AND THE VEHICLE POWERS DOWN AND BARELY MOVES. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, MOSTLY DURING COLD WEATHER, ALTHOUGH IT HAS HAPPENED IN WARM WEATHER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHILE TRYING TO MANEUVER OUT OF TRAFFIC. ON ONE OCCASION, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND WHEN CHECKED OVER THEY REPORTED THAT NOTHING COULD BE FOUND. THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY AFTER SITTING THERE ALL NIGHT. THIS IS DANGEROUS! I HAVE READ MANY INSTANCES OF THE SAME THING HAPPENING TO OTHER SILVERADO OWNERS. PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 5 TIMES, THE LATEST AROUND JANUARY OF 2019.
MAY 27,2011 GM ANNOUCED A RECALL OF THE PASSEGER SIDE AIR BAG ON MY TRUCK. RECALL # 16V381. NOW THE DEALER TELLS ME GM IS ASKING Y'ALL TO ALLOW THEM CANCEL THIS RECALL. ARE WE THE CONSUMER EXPECTED TO JUST WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO GET KILLED WHEN ONE OF THESE DEFECTIVE INFLATORS RUPURES?? AND THEN GM MIGHT DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. GM NEEDS TO BE PROACTIVE AND NOT REACTIVE. LETS GET THESE FIXED BEFORE MY WIFE OR SOMEONE ESLE GETS KILLED.
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON. THIS IS PROMPTING ME TO THINK THAT THIS IS RELATED TO THE TAKATA RECALL. MY 2011 SILVERADO HAS LESS THAN 100,00 MILES. THE TRANSMISSION STARTED MAKING NOISES, THEN IT STOPPED. PRIOR TO THAT NOTHING WAS INDICATED AS GOING WRONG. ONE MONTH LATER, THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT MOVE INTO GEARS. I HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW AND I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN THE SERVICE THAT I AM GETTING OUT OF IT.ALSO THE INTERIOR IS DETERIORATING. MY RADIO DIALS AND HEAT/AIR CONTROL BUTTONS ARE FADED. THE STEERING WHEEL IS PEELING. I EVEN BOUGHT EXTENDED WARRANTY. MY POWER WINDOW WENT OUT, FIXED BY WARRANTY. THIS TRUCK HAS TOO MANY DEFECTS AND I AM SEEKING SOME ANSWERS AND ASSISTING IN CORRECTING THESE PROBLEMS.
TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK BROKE AT THE BRACKET.
MY FRONT DRIVER SIDE TOP CONTROL ARM BROKE WHEN I HIT A POLE ON THE REAR OF MY TRUCK. IT SNAPPED OFF AT THE BALL. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND SIDE SWIPED A POLE AT ABOUT 5 MPH. SHOULD NOT HAVE SNAPPED A PART IN THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK! THERE IS A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF CORROSION UNDER MY TRUCK. EVEN BEHIND THE REAR TAIL LIGHT WHICH SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN EXPOSED, THERE'S RUST. THIS TRUCK HAS MORE RUST THAT TRUCKS THAT ARE 30 YEARS OLD.
I RECEIVED A RECALL ANNOUNCEMENT IN THE MAIL A FEW YEARS AGO AND AFTER ASKING THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, I KEPT RECEIVING THE ANSWER THAT THE FIX WAS NOT AVAILABLE YET. I FINALLY RESEARCHED THE ISSUE I LEARNED THAT CHEVROLET IS SAYING THEY DO NOT HAVE TO FIX IT. I THINK THEY ARE IN COURT ABOUT IT. WHAT DO I DO?
IGNITION SWITCH INTERMITTENTLY STOPS WORKING. IT WILL CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING CITY STREETS AND AT HIGH SPEEDS AND THE LOCK BUTTONS WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK REPEATEDLY WHILE SHOWING THE TRUCK IN PARK, ALL WHILE GOING DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY. IT'S TERRIFYING. SOMETIMES IT WON'T START OR DO ANYTHING. BUT IF I JIGGLE IT THEN IT WILL START. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH MULTIPLE DRIVERS. I HAD IT DIAGNOSED AND DID SOME QUICK ONLINE SEARCHES AND THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS.
DASH GAUGES AND LIGHTS TURN OFF AND ON WHILE IN PARK, DRIVING, AND STATIONARY. THIS TYPICALLY CAN BE FIXED BY TURNING THE TRUCK ALL THE WAY OFF AND BACK ON BUT THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE WHEN DRIVING. THIS OCCURS ABOUT 1-2 TIMES PER DAY

GOODYEAR PERFORMED AN ASSESSMENT OF THE VEHICLE DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND STATED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WITHIN THE DEFROSTER HOUSING HAD MELTED. BOB VALENTI CHEVROLET (3050, 72 JERRY BROWNE ROAD, MYSTIC, CONNECTICUT 06355, (860) 536-4931) WAS MADE AWARE OF FAILURE AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE BLOWER MOTOR, WIRING HARNESS, AND TRANSISTOR WERE FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: CAS-8-4809459254. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,428.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, AN ELK RAN INTO THE ROAD AND CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED SEVERE FRONT END DAMAGE; HOWEVER, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO POWER CHEVROLET (1422 N. COAST HWY, NEWPORT, OR), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE TORSO, KNEES, HIP, AND NECK, WHICH CAUSED HEADACHES AND NAUSEA WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
I CONTACTED 5 DEALERSHIPS IN MY AREA INQUIRING ABOUT REPLACING THE AIRBAG ON THE RECALL. I GOT A CALL FROM ONLY ONE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD NO IDEA WHEN THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO DO THE RECALL REPAIRS.
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO THAT MY 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 WAS UNDER RECALL FOR TAKATA AIRBAGS. I CALLED MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER THREE TIMES ASKING IF PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND STILL NO REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS. I LIVE IN ALABAMA WHICH IS A HUMID CLIMATE WHICH IS MORE ACCEPTABLE TO CAUSE AIR BAG TO BE DEFECTIVE.

BRAKES FAILED ON I-26 WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP. SPEED WAS BETWEEN 55-60 MPH. TWO CARS WERE HIT. EXAMINATION SHOWED BRAKE FLUID LEAKING AT LEFT FRONT. SUBSEQUENT EXAMINATION BY INSURANCE ADJUSTER FOUND FLUID APPEARED TO BE LEAKING FROM BRAKE LINE. HE WAS NOT SURE IF IT WAS FROM RUBBER HOSE OR METAL TUBING. HE DID SEE CORROSION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. IN ORDER TO START THE VEHICLE EVERY DAY, THE CONTACT HAD TO WIGGLE THE KEY INSIDE THE IGNITION SWITCH UNTIL IT STARTED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (WALKER BROS BUICK/CHEVROLET, 700 ERIE STREET, EDIMBORO, PA 16412), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 250,000.
TAKATA RECALL - THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON OUR VEHICLE SINCE 2016 WITH NO REMEDY AVAILABLE AND IS PREVENTING US FROM TURNING IN TO OUR FLEET MANAGEMENT. PLEASE POST A REMEDY OR REMOVE THE RECALL!
I WAS MAKING A TURN WHILE PUSHING ON THE GAS PEDAL LIGHTLY, AND ALL OF SUDDEN THE GAS PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT PRESSING ON IT AND THE PEDAL GOT STUCK. THE ENGINE RACED UP TO OVER 5000 RPM AND ABOUT 60 MPH AROUND A TURN BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. I HAD TOO KEEP TAPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL TO RELEASE IT. ALSO MY FOOT WAS ON THE BREAK.
DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED AND BROKEN IN 2 SEPARATE PLACES. TOP LEFT OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND TOP LEFT OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WITH A PIECE BROKEN OUT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD WITH PLASTIC PIECES THAT CAN BECOME PROJECTILES OR CUT THE AIRBAG IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON MANY MODELS AND WILL GET WORSE AS THE PLASTIC HAS BECOME BRITTLE. VEHICLE IS A 2011 YEAR WITH 82000 MILES.

MY DASH HAS CRACKED SIGNIFICANTLY IN THREE DIFFERENT PLACES AT DIFFERENT TIMES. IT IS UNKNOWN TO ME WHAT CAUSED THE FIRST TWO CRACKS, BUT THE MOST RECENT OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS NOT ONLY AFFECTS THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE, BUT ALSO WORRIES ME THAT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, IT MAY AFFECT THE AIRBAGS OR EVEN PROJECT PIECES OF THE DASH TOWARDS ANYONE IN THE VEHICLE.
