WHILE ENGAGING SLOW IDLE SPEED TURNS, MY 2014 SILVERADO WILL OCCASIONALLY COMPLETELY LOSE ALL POWER STEERING AND THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE SAME ISSUE OCCUR WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AND APPLYING THE BRAKE OR ROLLING UP WINDOWS. DURING THESE TERRIFYING SITUATIONS, A MESSAGE COMES ACROSS THE DASH SAYING ONE OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING "ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING REDUCED. DRIVE WITH CAUTION" "STABILITRACK" "TRAILER BRAKES". THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO BE VERY SPORADIC AND UNPREDICTABLE. I LOOKED UP POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS AND HAD A MECHANIC FIX A POOR GROUNDING CONNECTION UNDER THE DASH WHICH THEY THOUGHT COULD BE THE CAUSE BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING TURNS, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND FAILED TO MOVE. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, IT OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SULLIVAN-PARKHILL AUTOMOTIVE (40 W ANTHONY DR, CHAMPAIGN, IL 61822, (217) 903-2817) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A SOFTWARE UPDATE, SENSOR, AND NEW STEERING COLUMN WERE NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BEST CHEVROLET (2600 VETERANS MEMORIAL BLVD, KENNER, LA 70062, (504) 315-7790), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V414000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
IT STARTED AS A SMALL BUBBLES IN THE PAINT ON THE ROOF RIGHT ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD BEFORE THE SUNROOF. 2 BUBBLES CRACKED AND DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IT TOOK PAINT OFF THE ROOF. IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE WERE TO JUST PEEL IT ALL OFF. THERE ARE NO CHIPS NO DINGS OR ANYTHING IT'S PEELING OFF PAINT EVERYDAY AND I LOOK ONLINE AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OTHERS SAYING THE SAME THING AND IT'S RIDICULOUS 40K TRUCK AND THE PAINT IS PEELING OFF LIKE THERE WASN'T ANYTHING THERE. ALL THE PRIMER IS STILL THERE JUST PAINT IS PEELING OFF BADLY. I'M VERY UNPLEASED BY GM AND THE DEALERSHIPS SAYING IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY AND CAN'T HELP WITH THIS. GM KNOWS THERE IS A PAINT ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES BUT WON'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP CUSTOMERS. I ONLY HAVE TAKEN ONE PICTURE SO FAR WILL HAVE MORE TO COME. I ALSO HAVE OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAINING AS WELL ABOUT PAINT EVEN ON 2017 TRUCKS THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE.
WHILE PARKED IN A PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE TRUCK MAD A CLICKING SOUND AND ALL LIGHTS LIT UP ON DASHBOARD, BUT NO CONCISE ERROR MESSAGE. TRUCK THEN STARTED, BUT LOST POWER WHEN I PUT IT INTO REVERSE WITH ALL LIGHTS COMING ON AGAIN. TURNED OFF IGNITION AND THEN THE TRUCK STARTED. DROVE THE TRUCK 2 MILES TO MY HOME AND WHEN PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY, THE TRUCK LOST TOTAL POWER AND NEARLY CAUSED ME TO CRASH IN TO A PARKED VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO AVOID THE COLLISION AND I TURNED THE KEY OFF IN THE IGNITION. I WAITED A MINUTE AND THE TRUCK STARTED WITHOUT ISSUE. THE NEXT MORNING, THE TRUCK HAD THE SAME ISSUE STARTING - CLICKING SOUND BUT WOULD NOT START. IT FINALLY STARTED AND I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL SHOP TO GET A DIAGNOSIS. THEY COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE. THE NEXT DAY, THE SAME CLICKING NOISE OCCURRED AND IT WOULDN'T START AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. I CALLED AAA TO HAVE MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE SHOP. WHEN AAA CAME, THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. I THEN DROVE IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP FOR ANOTHER DIAGNOSIS. THEY COULD NOT PINPOINT THE ISSUE AND RECOMMENDED THAT I TAKE THE TRUCK TO THE NEARBY CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP, WHICH I DID. THEY HAD IT FOR 2 DAYS AND COULD NOT FIND AN ISSUE - DROVE, TESTED, DIAGNOSED MULTIPLE TIMES TO NO AVAIL. TRUCK ALSO DID NOT SHOW ANY SIGNS OF POWER LOSS, ETC. TODAY, FOR THE FIFTH TIME IN THE LAST 8 DAYS, THERE WAS AN ISSUE. TRUCK STARTED NORMALLY, DROVE APPROX. 2 MILES AND PARKED. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START, THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED - CLICKING SOUND, LIGHTS LIGHTING UP ON THE DASH BOARD AND THIS TIME, A STABILTRAK ERROR CAME ON AND OFF. TRUCK THEN STARTED AFTER 3 ATTEMPTS SO I DROVE IT HOME. WENT TO RESTART AND THE CLICKING SOUND WITH LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIT UP AGAIN. THE POWER LOSS WHILE DRIVING HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES IN THE PAST, BUT THE VEHICLE STARTED UP WITH NO OTHER ISSUES. HAD THIS TRUCK FOR 4 YEARS WITH NO ISSUES UNTIL NOW.
FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY TRUCK NOT STOPPING THE WAY IT USE TO I WOULD APPIY THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WOULD GET HARD AND IT WOULD BARELY STOP 2 WEEKS AGO I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK ON A HIGHWAY AT NIGHT AND A DEER RAN OUT IN FRONT OF ME I APPLIED THE BRAKES HIT THE DEER AND WAS UNABLE TO STOP LOST CONTROL OF MY TRUCK CROSSED THE 2 LANES AND ENDED UP IN THE WOODS WITH MY TRUCK AFTER HITTING THE DEER I HAD BOTH FEET STANDING ON THE BRAKES AND IT WOULD NOT STOP I COLLIDED WITH A PINE TREE NOW MY TRUCK IS AT A BODY SHOP WE'RE THEY BELIEVE IT IS TOTALED
FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS I WAS NOTICING THE IT WAS GETTING HARD TO STOP MY TRUCK WITH BRAKING THE PEDAL WOULD GET HARD AND BARELY STOP 2 WEEKS AGO I WAS DRIVING ON A TWO LANE ON A HIGHWAY AT AROUND 11:30 AT NIGHT AND A DEER RAN OUT IN FRONT OF ME I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND SWERVED I HIT THE DEER WITH RIGHT FRONT OF TRUCK COULD NOT STOP THE TRUCK I WENT ACROSS THE HIGHWAY AND INTO THE WOODS WITH MY TRUCK AND HAD BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WAS LIKE I HAD NO BRAKES I ENDED UP IN THE WOODS AND HIT A PINE TREE MY TRUCK IS AT A BODY SHOP NOW WHERE THEY BELIEVE IT IS A TOTAL LOSS

WHEN DRIVEING SLOW OR BACKINGUP BRAKE PEDAL IS REAL HARD AND TRUCK DOESN'T WANT TO STOP
BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES STIFF AND EXTREMELY HARD TO DEPRESS AT LOW SPEEDS (BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY, STOP & GO TRAFFIC, ETC.). VEHICLE BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP AND TRAVELED A FAIR DISTANCE EVEN WITH BRAKE PEDAL FULLY ENGAGED. MILEAGE: 86,000. APPEARS TO BE VACUUM PUMP ISSUE PER NOTIFICATION LETTER FROM GM AND AS NOTED BY MANY OTHER DRIVERS WITH SIMILAR EXPERIENCE. DEALERSHIP CHARGES $650+ TO REPLACE VACUUM PUMP IF VEHICLE IS OVER 72,000 MILE LIMIT PLACED AS PART OF GM'S SPECIAL COVERAGE PROGRAM.
POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT AND LOSS OF POWER STEERING. ALL SPEEDS, ALL THE TIME.
LOSS OF BRAKING POWER HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES AT THE BOAT RAMP. WHILE SLOWLY BACKING DOWN THE RAMP IN REVERSE, BRAKES WILL BECOME STIFF AND NOT STOP THE TRUCK. ABS SENSATION IN THE PEDAL CAN BE FELT ONCE PUSHING THE PEDAL HARDER UNTIL THE VEHICLE STOPS. ONLY SOLUTION IS TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND GIVE SLIGHT THROTTLE TO REGAIN BRAKING POWER BEFORE CONTINUING TO BACK DOWN THE RAMP (WHICH IS LESS THAN 20 FT LONG NONETHELESS). MY TUCK HAS ALMOST NOT STOPPED AND ROLLED INTO THE WATER ON A FEW OCCASIONS NOW.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FOLLOWING DIAGNOSTIC CODES APPEARED: C0035, C0040, C0050, UO077, U0126, UO151, UO422, UO401 AND UO415. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT LATER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DELLENBACH CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 311 S COLLEGE AVE, FORT COLLINS, CO 80525, (888) 283-6441) AND WAS PROVIDED THE CODES. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 9-5332168571. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WESTSIDE CHEVROLET (23001 KATY FWY, KATY, TX 77450, (281) 394-1894) WHERE THE FOLLOWING FAILURE CODES APPEARED: TRAILER BRAKE DRIVER CONTROL MODULE SYSTEM VOLTAGE, LICENSE PLATE LAMP CIRCUIT SHORT TO BATTERY, CONTROL MODULE POWER CIRCUIT VOLTAGE BELOW THRESHOLD, PASSENGER SIDE FRONT BRAKE PRESSURE SENSORY CIRCUIT, INVALID DATA RECEIVED FROM INFLATABLE RESTRAINT SENSING, ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT HARDWARE, GENERAL CHECKS ON FAILURE, AND CONTROL MODULE POWER CIRCUIT VOLTAGE BELOW THRESHOLD. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.
A/C NO LONGER WORKS. UNDERSTAND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. MY TRUCK HAS 60,000 MILES.
I WAS ABOUT 10 MINUTES INTO MY MORNING COMMUTE AFTER REMOTE STARTING MY VEHICLE. I WAS STOPPED IN A DRIVE THRU LINE. STARTED TO SMELL ELECTRICAL BURNING. HEARD A LOUD POP AND MY REAR WINDOW ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE SLIDER HAD SHATTERED AND THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM THE LOWER CENTER CORNER WHERE THE WINDOW MEETS THE DEFROSTER CONNECTOR.
BRAKE PEDAL BECAME VERY HAD TO DEPRESS WHILE REVERSING AT A SLOW SPEED. THIS OCCURRED IN MY PRIVATE DRIVEWAY AS I WAS CONNECTING A TRAILER. I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE IN THE USUAL MANNER, WHILE A DID NOT COLLIDE WITH THE TRAILER IT WAS WITHIN AN INCH OR TWO BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP.
TEMPORARY LOSS AND SUDDEN RETURN OF THE STEERING SYSTEM AT LOW RPM MANEUVERING AFFECTING THE TRACTION CONTROL, PARK ASSIST AND MULTIPLE OTHER SYSTEMS. CHEVROLET PERFORMED RECALL WORK ON THE VEHICLE SUPPOSEDLY, YET THE VEHICLE STILL HAS THE PROBLEM. THEY WILL NOT CONTINUE TO SORT THE PROBLEM OUT.
AT LOW SPEED THE BRAKE PEDAL CAN BE DEPRESSED AND AT TIMES IT WILL BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STOP THE FORWARD PROGRESS OF THE TRUCK.
TAKATA RECALL THE VEHICLE I HAD FOR ABOUT MAYBE 6 MONTHS WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET WE ALL OF THE SUDDEN HEARD A POP WE THOUGHT IT WAS A TIRE SO WE PULLED TO THE SIDE AND SEEN THAT OIL STARTED LEAKING FROM THE BOTTOM AND SMOKE CAME OUT FROM THE HOOD AND NOW IT WILL NOT TURN ON WE BELIEVE IS THE ENGINE THAT BROKE BY HUSBAND LOOKED DOWN AND SAW THERE WAS A PIECE BROKEN OF THE MOTOR AS SEEN ON THE DESCRIPTION OF RECALL NUMBER 14V152000
VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS MALFUNCTION AND SEEM TO SHORT OUT THEN THE ENTIRE VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN. THIS IS PRIMARILY WHEN MOVING AT SLOWER SPEEDS AND MAKING TURNS IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE STABILITRAK, PARK ASSISTS, TURN INDICATORS ALL SHUT OFF AND WARNINGS POP UP ON THE DASH. SHORTLY AFTER THAT THE VEHICLES ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN ENTIRELY. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ONLINE THIS IS DUE TO AN MALFUNCTIONING GROUND WIRE THAT THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT INSTALL PROPERLY. THE ERROR IS DUE TO THE SOUND PROOFING MATERIAL GETTING IN THE WAY OF THE GROUND BOLT AND THE VEHICLE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE TURNING LEFT AT AN INTERSECTION AND THERE IS ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES TO ME OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS AND MOST RECENTLY, YESTERDAY, 5/20.

THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER: 10113364 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC), BUT THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED THE MAXIMUM MILEAGE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN THE INTERSTATE, WHEN THERE WAS A LOUD POP/BANG FROM ABOVE MY HEAD. THE SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED. THE COVER WAS SHUT WHICH KEPT THE GLASS FROM COMING THE CAB. THE SOME OF THE GLASS WENT FLYING INTO THE TRUCK OF THE BED. I WAS NOWHERE NEAR AN OVERPASS OR ANYTHING THAT COULD HAVE FALLEN ON IT.
THE TRUCK CONTINUES TO SHUT OFF WHEN EVER IM DRIVING IT NO MATTER WHERE I'M AT. ON THE FREEWAY OR MAKING A TURN IT WILL JUST SHUT OFF. EVERYTHING GOES DEAD.
WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP AND I NEARLY RAN OVER A LADY. THEN AFTER PARKING I WENT TO LEAVE AND I ALMOST BAKED INTO SOMEONE BECAUSE THE BRAKES AGAIN FAILED. LOCAL DEALER SAID THAT THE VACUUM PUMP IS KNOW TO JUST GO OUT RANDOMLY. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL SEEING AS TO HOW IT IS SKETCHY AND COULD GET SOMEONE KILLED.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING KEEPS GOING IN AND OUT AT LOW SPEEDS. IT JUST STARTED AFTER A OIL CHANGE AT MY DEALERSHIP. WHEN I GO SLOW AROUND A DRIVE THROUGH OR JUST START OUT AFTER A STOP.
HARD TO BRAKE AT TIMES AT LOW SPEED EXTRA EFFORT TO BRAKE OR MAY NOT BRAKE AT ALL. CALL CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY SAY SOMEONE NEED A TO GET HURT IN ORDER TO MAKE A RECALL.. WHEN THEY SEND ME A NOTIFICATION BY MAIL OF THE PROBLEM WITH MY TRUCK.
ON THE HIGHWAY PULLING NEW TRAVEL TRAILER HOME. CAME UP-ON STOP & GO TRAFFIC (2 HOURS) BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD, NO POWER. I DID MANAGE TO STOP VERY NERVOUSLY WITHOUT HITTING VEHICLE IN FRONT. NO PROBLEM AFTER STARTED MOVING. A FEW WEEKS LATTER BACKING UP TO PARK CAMPER AT CAMP GROUND AND RETURN HOME, SAME THING, NO POWER BRAKES
AFTER 1 HOUR OF DRIVING AND STOPPING AT A INTERSECTION TRUCK DECIDED TO SHUT DOWN AT THE INTERSECTION CAUSING ME TO ALMOST BE INVOLVED IN A ACCIDENT SINCE I WAS DEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION WITHOUT WARNING OR REASON I HAD JUST ACCELERATED THROUGH LIGHT WHEN TRUCK SHUT DOWN
HARD BRAKE PEDAL AT LOW SPEEDS. UNABLE TO STOP AS NORMAL. HAPPENS SOMETIME IN FORWARD BUT MOST ALWAYS IN REVERSE.
WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK, THE POWER STEERING FAILED, AND A SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING CAME ON THE DASH. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP, AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T GET ME IN TO LOOK AT THE TRUCK UNTIL FRIDAY (3 DAYS). I CALLED CHEVY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY SAID THERE IS NO RECALL, BUT I FOUND A RECALL 17276 THAT COVERS THIS EXACT ISSUE. THE POWER STEERING KICKED BACK ON AND ALMOST CAUSED A HEAD ON COLLISION AS THE TRUCK SWIRVED WHEN THE SYSTEM REENGAGED.
I HAVE HAD LOSE OR HARD BRAKING ISSUES DUE TO A VACUUM PUMP ISSUE. GM SENT A LETTER OUT IN APRIL ALLOWING SPECIAL COVERAGE BUT MY VEHICLE DOESN'T MEET THERE CONDITIONS.
MY 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO SUFFERS FROM THE SAME LOSS OF POWER STEERING ISSUE GM JUST ISSUED A RECALL FOR IN SEPT. OF 2018 FOR THE 2015 MODEL OF THE SILVERADO. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PARK OR PERFORMING LOW SPEED TURNS THE POWER STEERING WITH FAIL MAKING IT INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO SAFELY CONTROL THE VEHICLE. WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY USING CRUISE CONTROL, THE CRUISE CONTROL HAD FAILED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE STEERING LOCKS UP FOR A MOMENT WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AFFECTING MORE VEHICLES THAN JUST THE 2015 MODELS, AND THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE ALL AFFECTED YEAR MODELS. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT WARNING, AND OCCURS MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN DEC OF 2017, AND THE ISSUE HAS BEEN PRESENT SINCE MY OWNERSHIP.
LOSS OF STEERING; STEERING WHEEL LOCKING UP AND JERKING OUT OF MY HANDS WHILE MAKING A TURN. HEADLIGHTS AC AND RADIO CUTTING OFF. MULTIPLE WARNINGS INCLUDING STABILITRAC AND POWER STEERING ASSIST. ENGINE FAILURE. THIS HAPPENS AT LOW SPEEDS AND TURNING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER SHIP TODAY AND THEY SAID THAT IT FRIED MY BATTERY AND CABLES AND FUSE BUT THEYDONT KNOW THE REASON WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. THIS IS ALMOST $700 OUT OF POCKET WITH NO GARUNTEE PROBLEM SOLVED. MY TRUCK HAS 32,000 MILES 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO LT 1500. WHEN PULLING INTO THE DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING, EVERYTHING LISTED ABOVE HAPPENED AND THANKFULLY IT RECIPROCATED WHEN THE MECHANIC TESTED IT. IT THREW OFF TEN DIFFERENT CODES .
AC STOPPED BLOWING COLD. RECHARGED AC AND IT RAN COLD FOR 2 DAYS. INVESTIGATED TO FIND A AC CONDENSER WELD FAILED. UPON RESEARCHING I FOUND I AM NOT ALONE AND DEALERSHIP WANTS 1200 DOLLARS TO REPAIR.
PROBLEM WITH THE A/C UNIT NOT STAYING COLD. ON LINE FOUND THAT GM KNEW ABOUT DEFECTIVE A/C UNITS BEFORE VEHICLES WERE EVEN TOUCHED THE DEALERS LOTS.TWO DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS- (1)-LINE LEADING FROM THE COMPRESSOR TO THE CONDENSOR.(2)-DEFECTIVE AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSERS.SYSTEM WAS FILLED A/C RETURNED AFTER TWO DAYS WARM AGAIN-THIS A REPAIR THE DEALER SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR AND TO HAVE REPAIRED WITH NO COST TO CUSTOMER.VEHICLE WAS TESTED BY ME STATIONARY AND AGAIN WHILE DRIVING .NOTICEABLE SMOKE COULD BE SEEN ON AND OFF WHEN TRUCK IS RUNNING BEING STATIONARY.
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR POWER STEERING FAILURE AT LOW SPEEDS DUE TO VOLTAGE ISSUES. THE RECALL AND SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2017. I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN EXPERIENCING THE SAME SYMPTOMS FROM THE PREVIOUS RECALL. I HAVE NOTICED WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS I WILL TEMPORARILY LOOSE POWER STEERING. THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 5 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH. IT USUALLY OCCURS WHEN I AM IN A PARKING LOT, PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, AT LOW SPEEDS 5-10 MPH, AND WHEN I AM TURNING. THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING FOR A SECOND OR SO AND THEN COMES RIGHT BACK. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY OR INTERSTATE MY HEADLIGHTS FLICKERING AS IF THERE IS A LOW VOLTAGE ISSUE. THE VOLTAGE METER HAS BEEN IN THE NORMAL OPERATING RANGE, AND I HAVE HAD NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ALARMS WHEN THESE INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED. MOST RECENT INCIDENT OCCURRED TODAY 4/30/19 WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT A LOCAL RESTAURANT.
APPROX. 1 WEEK AGO WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, STABILITRAK ERROR POPS UP ON SCREEN AND POWER STEERING GOES OUT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK. A FEW DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AND ENGAGED, STABILITRAK ERROR DISPLAYS AGAIN. INITIATED MY TURN SIGNAL TO SIGNAL LANE CHANGE WHICH DISENGAGED THE CRUISE CONTROL. A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON BUT NOT ENGAGED, THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED ON IT'S OWN CAUSING THE ENGINE TO REV AS AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP SAYS IT MIGHT BE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE ASSEMBLY AND FUSE BLOCK AND SAID IT WOULD COST ME $768 BUT THERE IS NO GUARANTEE IT WILL FIX THE PROBLEM AND IS LIKELY JUST THE STARTING POINT. HAD THE RECALL DONE BACK IN AUGUST OF 2018 FOR THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING (WHERE THEY SIMPLY ERASED THE SOFTWARE AND LOADED NEW SOFTWARE) SO THE DEALERSHIP TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUE.
AT VERY LOW SPEEDS THE BRAKE PEDDLE BECOMES VERY HARD AND WILL NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. IT IS VERY INTERMITTENT AND ONCE THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF AND STARTED AGAIN THE BRAKES WILL PERFORM LIKE NORMAL. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHILE PARKING OR IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC.
TAKATA RECALL, MY 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 6.2L HIGH COUNTRY HAS HAD AIR CONDITIONING PROBLEMS SINCE I BOUGHT IT, THE AC LINES DEVELOPE PIN HOLE SIZE LEAKS EVEN AFTER FIXING IT OVER AND OVER, THE AC LINE HAS NO BRACKETS OR BRACE TO KEEP THE LINE FROM MOVING OR SHIFTING WHEN DRIVING ON RUFF TERRAIN OR SOME WHAT BUMPY ROADS. I'VE HAD 6 LEAKS FIXED YEAR AFTER YEAR NEVER IN THE SAME SPOT, THE AC LINES DESIGN IS HORRIBLE AND I'M TIRED OF PAYING FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAD BEEN PREVENTED OR RECALLED BY NOW!! ALMOST EVERYBODY WITH THESE MODELS AND YEAR OF TRUCKS HAVE ISSUES WITH THE AC, IT'S TIME TO FIX THE PROBLEMS NOW!!
AT DIFFERENT TIMES WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE TRUCK, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES VERY STIFF (HARD). I HAD TO APPLY BOTH FEET TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE TRUCK. THIS OCCURRED TWICE IN THE PAST MONTH. CONTACTED GM AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE. I CHECKED THE INTERNET AND DISCOVERED THAT OTHER SILVERADO AND SIERRA OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM . THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR DIES BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE! IN BOTH CASES I WAS DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS AND IN THE PROCESS OF PARKING THE TRUCK IN MY DRIVEWAY AND AT HOME DEPOT.

ELECTRONICS RETURNED MUCH LIKE THERE WAS AN 'AUTO-RESET' BREAKER. ON FRIDAY MORNING BRIEFLY WOULD NOT START AND SIGNALED A PERIMETER READING. MY WIFE WAS WITH ME ON BOTH OCCURRENCES AND CONTINUED THE ISSUE WITH CLIFF WHEN THE TRUCK WAS RETURNED WITHOUT A REPAIR OF THE ISSUE. HER POINT WAS SIMPLE, THE VEHICLE COULD CAUSE A DEADLY ACCIDENT. UPON RETURNING HOME SUSAN RESEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THE PROBLEM WAS MENTIONED WITH ONLY TWO MENTIONS OF POTENTIAL REPAIRS THAT MADE LITTLE SENSE; I.E., A FLY WHEEL SENSOR, THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE ASSEMBLY, A REPAIR OF G218 GROUND, ETC .
I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK USED 3 MO AGO, FROM A DEALER WITH ~101,000 MI ON IT. IN THE PAST SEVERAL WEEKS I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, AFFECTING MULTIPLE SYSTEMS. INITIALLY, THE PROBLEMS INVOLVED THE STABILITRACK AND POWER STEERING DASH WARNINGS ALARMING, WITH A SLIGHT CHANGE IN RESPONSIVENESS OF THE STEERING. IT HAS PROGRESSED TO COMPLETE LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER (DASH, AC, RADIO, EVERYTHING GOES OUT, LOSS OF POWER ASSISTED STEERIN, AND 2/3 TIMES WITH THE VEHICLE REQUIRING BEING RESTARTED MANUALLY (ENGINE HAD ALSO SHUT DOWN). TYPICALLY AFTER THE ELECTRICAL FLICKER EITHER THE STABILITRACK, THE POWER STEERING OR BOTH MESSAGES WITH ALARM. THIS HAS GENERALLY HAPPENED WHEN APPROACHING A STOP, SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 20 MPH AND 5 MPH, BUT IT NEXT ORIGINATES AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS STOPPED. 2 OF THE 3 TIMES ALSO INCLUDED STOPPING WITH A GENTLE TURN, AS APPROACHING A STOP, FROM WHICH I WOULD THEN TURN. ONE OF THE ELECTRICAL FLICKERS OCCURRED ON THE FREEWAY WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CAPTURE A PICTURE AS THIS IS OCCURRING WHILE DRIVING, AND THE WARNING INDICATOR TURNS OFF AFTER 3-5 SECONDS.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,000.
TAKATA RECALL - TRIED PARKING TODAY AND BACKED INTO MY PARKING GARAGE WALL AT WORK - NO DAMAGE TO VEHICLE BUT SCARED ME QUITE A LOT TO ALL THE SUDDEN LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF MY BRAKES - PEDAL BECAME STIFF - WOULD BARELY MOVE NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESSED IT AND THEN BRAKES STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. ALL THE FORUMS I AM READING IS RELATED TO VACUUM PUMP. THIS IS A JOKE THAT THIS HASN'T BEEN RECALLED YET. THESE GENIUSES ARE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GET KILLED BEFORE THEY ARE GOING TO FIX IT APPARENTLY. TRUCK IS 2014 SILVERADO 1500 LTZ Z71 WITH ONLY 29,000 MILES ON IT. SURE AS HELL IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY PERIOD.
AC CONDENSER LEAKING. TRUCK HAS 111,500 MILES AND AC WENT OUT WHILE ON A TRIP. HAD AC SERVICED, ONE MONTH LATER TOOK IT BACK AND SHOP SHOWED ME THAT THE CONDENSER IS LEAKING AT THE WELD IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THE CONDENSER. SAME LOCATION THAT I SAW TODAY ON SEVERAL OTHER PICTURES OF LEAKING CONDENSERS. GM IS NOT INSURING THAT THE PART IS HIGH QUALITY. RECALL SHOULD BE MANDATED IMMEDIATELY.
