I LOSE POWER BRAKES WHILE DRIVING ESPECIALLY AT SLOW SPEEDS THE PEDAL GETS VERY STIFF TO WHERE I CAN ALMOST NOT EVEN STOP. IT EVEN STARTED GETTING WORSE AT HIGH SPEEDS NOW
WHILE DRIVING DOWNHILL ON A LOCAL HIGHWAY, ANOTHER VEHICLE CHANGED LANE INTO MY LANE WHICH FORCED ME TO BRAKE TO AVOID A COLLISION, BUT BRAKE PEDAL WAS VERY STIFF AND REQUIRED MORE FORCE THAN USUAL TO APPLY THE THE BRAKES. FORTUNATELY, I DID NOT HIT THE OTHER VEHICLE AND BUT HAD TO PULL OVER TO A PARKING LOT CHECK ON MY FAMILY WHO WERE SHAKEN UP ABOUT THE ORDEAL. I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW MINUTES TO SEE IF IT RESETS THE PROBLEM BUT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING IT AROUND THE PARKING LOT A FEW TIMES, THE PROBLEM WAS STILL THERE AND A BRAKE ASSIST SERVICE MESSAGE WAS NOW SHOWING.
BRAKE BOOSTER WENT OUT AT SLOW SPEEDS. WAS BACKING UP AND NOTICED BRAKES WERE HARD TO PUSH. PULLED FORWARD AND THE SAME THING. ONCE I STARTED TO DRIVE THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. VERY HARD BRAKE PEDAL AFTER DRIVING AROUND PARKING LOT. CAR HAD TO BE LESS THAN 3MPH FOR PROBLEM TO OCCUR.
BRAKES BECAME HARD TO PUSH DOWN AND COULD BARELY STOP. LUCKILY I WAS BACKING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT WORK AND THE SIDEWALK LEDGE STOPPED ME. NOW WHEN I TRY TO STOP THE BRAKES WILL ONLY PUSH DOWN ABOUT AN INCH THEN ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO PUSH DOWN TO STOP. FROM WHAT I READ ONLINE THE PROBLEM IS LIKELY THE VACUUM PUMP.
PAINT STARTED PEELING ON THE A PILLAR DRIVER SIDE AND IS NOW PEELING ON PASSENGER SIDE SAME PLACE. ALSO DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW CORNER PEELING AS WELL AS PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW CORNER PAINT PEELING SAME PLACE. PAINT IS NOW STARTING TO PEEL ABOVE THE REAR DOOR ON THE ROOF AS WELL. I SPOKE TO CHEVY DEALER AS WELL AS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE BBB ALL SAID OUT OF WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH IT IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT AND THE DISCOVERY RULE SHOULD APPLY AS THERE WAS NO WAY FOR ME TO KNOW THE PAINT WAS DEFECTIVE WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD.
WELDS ON AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER/TRANSMISSION COOLER FAILED CAUSING THE FREON TO BE RELEASED AND AC SYSTEM TO FAIL. VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THIS OCCURRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS VERY FIRM. APPROXIMATELY TEN MINUTES AFTER THE FAILURE, THE SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED; HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
ON 4/2/2019 WHILE TRAVELING AT 45 MPH, SLOWED TO MAKE LEFT TURN. WHILE MIDWAY THROUGH INTERSECTION, ENGINE DIED, DASH LIGHTS WENT OUT, POWER STEERING AND BRAKES GONE. WITHIN SECONDS EVERYTHING POWERED BACK UP AND ENGINE RESUMED AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. WARNING INDICATORS WORDS FLASHED BRIEFLY. I CAUGHT "STABILITRACK". I DROVE FOR ANOTHER MILE AND AS I WAS ENTERING DRIVEWAY ABOUT 5 MPH AND WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT, ENGINE AND DASH LIGHTS WENT OFF AGAIN AND RESTARTED AGAIN. PRIOR TO ALL THIS HEADLIGHTS WERE FLICKERING AND THERE WAS A LITTLE DEADENING IN THE POWER STEERING. TRUCK HAD 72,950 MILES. I CHECKED THE GROUNDING POINTS AND CLEARED OUT THE DEADENING MATERIAL THAT SLIGHTLY IMPEDED IT. NOT SURE THIS WILL HELP. THIS IS ACTUALLY THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. ON 6/22/18 AT 64,888 MILES, I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM. AT THAT TIME TOOK IT IN TO SHOP. THEY TIGHTENED THE GROUNDING BOLTS (G218) AND CLEANED THE BATTERY TERMINALS. I GUESS IT HELPED UNTIL RECENTLY. IT COST $180.
AIRBAG SENSOR SERVICE LIGHT GOES ON FOR A WHILE THEN GOES OFF FOR A WHILE IF NOT MOVING WHEN THE SERVICE LIGHT COMES ON STAYS ON IF THE SERVICE LIGHT IS OFF WHEN NOT MOVING IT STAYS OFF
HARD TO PRESS BRAKE PEDAL AT LOW SPEED AND SOMETIMES UNABLE TO STOP DUE TO STIFFNESS OF PEDAL
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE TURNS OFF BY ITSELF, LOCKING STEERING WHEEL AND EVERYTHING GOING BLANK. AFTER A MINUTE OR SO VEHICLE WILL TURN BACK ON.
MY WIFE AND I WERE ON VACATION AND STOPPED AT A REST AREA OFF THE INTERSTATE IN MISSOURI. UPON RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE AND PULLING OUT OF THE REST AREA I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THERE WAS NO POWER BRAKE ASSIST. I HAD TO USE BOTH FEET AND PUSH AS HARD AS I COULD TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. LUCKILY THERE WAS A DEALERSHIP ABOUT 10 MILES DOWN THE INTERSTATE THAT COULD LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. THE VACUUM PUMP THAT SUPPLIES VACUUM TO THE POWER BRAKES HAD A COMPLETE FAILURE CAUSING NO POWER ASSIST TO THE BAKE SYSTEM. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THIS PART MUST NEED REPAIR OFTEN BECAUSE THEY HAD THEM IN STOCK. AFTER THE REPAIR AND $683.36 LATER WE WERE BACK ON OUR WAY.
WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING TURNS MADE A REALLY LOUD POPPING NOISE, TOOK TO A MECHANIC AND THE RACK AND PINION ARE COMING APART. DONE RESEARCH AND FOUND BULLETIN 14204B AND IT IS EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY TRUCK BUT THE VIN DOESN'T COME BACK. I HAVE KIDS AND THIS IS NOT ANYTHING TO TAKE LIGHTLY PER THE RECALL AND THE MECHANIC. IF IT IS SAME AS WHAT RECALL IS WHY ISN'T THIS TRUCK INCLUDED???? TOOK TO LOCAL CHVROLET DEALERSHIP AND THEY EVEN SAID SAME THING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
BRAKES ENGAGED AND LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING DURING NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS IN JULY 2018.TOWED TO DEALERSHIP & PROBLEM WAS THE BRAKING MODULE. HOWEVER, 6 MONTHS LATER AND THE BRAKES ENGAGED AND LOCK UP AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. TOWED TO DEALERSHIP & THIS TIME THEY DETERMINED THE BOOSTER VALVE CONTROLLING THE BRAKE FLUID WAS THE ISSUE. 2 DAYS LATER, THE BRAKE ASSIST ENGAGED WHILE DRIVING AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP AGAIN. HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE ASSIST BUTTON MULTIPLE TIMES TO GET IT TO RELEASE. THESE INSTANCES ARE OCCURRING WHILE ROAD CONDITIONS ARE BARE & TEMPS ARE ABOVE FREEZING. THIS IS DANGEROUS SINCE BRAKES LOCK UP WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC TRAVELING ANYWHERE FROM 30 MPH TO 50 MPH.
VEHICLE HAS SEVERAL ELECTRICAL ISSUES. FIRST, POWER STEERING FAILS AT LOW SPEED TURNS. THEN, THE CAR OCCASIONALLY LOSES ALL ELECTRICAL POWER (SCREENS, GAUGES, LIGHTS, STARTER, GARAGE DOOR OPENER) WHILE PARKED AND OFF. THEN LAST WEEK, IT LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER AT 70+ MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. LOST POWER STEERING, ALL SCREENS TURNED OFF, GAUGES WHEN TO ZERO, ETC. THIS LASTED FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS AND THEN EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON. MANY WARNING LIGHTS INCLUDING POWER STEERING, TRACTION CONTROL, PARKING ASSIST DISABLED. THIS ALSO GAVE A 4WD SERVICE WARNING. NOW, I GET THE SERVICE 4WD WARNING EVERY TIME I START THE VEHICLE AND IT WILL NOT GO INTO 4 WD.
MY TRUCK SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. MOSTLY WHEN MAKING TURNS. THE STEERING BECOMES STIFF ALSO.
WHEN TRYING TO STOP AT LOW SPEEDS THE BRAKES ACT LIKE LOSS OF POWER BRAKE AND HAVE AT LEAST 5 TIMES ALMOST HIT A CAR IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE COULDN'T STOP. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL GM DEALER AND HAD IT REPAIRED AND IT WAS THE VACUUM PUMP, AND AFTER FINDING OUT THE PROBLEM I FOUND ON THE WEB THAT THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THIS ON 2014-2018 GM TRUCKS AND WAS ADVISED TO FILE A COMPLAINT BECAUSE IT IS A HUGE PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE RECALLED, ESPECIALLY AFTER IT COST ME OVER $800. I HAVE AROUND 72,000 MILES AND LOOKING ON THE WEB QUITE A FEW HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AS EARLY AS 10,000-30,000 BUT WAS TAKEN CARE OF UNDER WARRANTY AND PROBABLY WEREN'T REPORTED
AT LOW SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES HARD/IMPOSSIBLE TO PRESS AND DOES NOT SLOW DOWN THE TRUCK. IT FEELS AS IF I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER STOPPING THE VEHICLE. THIS SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING TO A LOT OF OWNERS OF THESE TRUCKS ACCORDING TO WHAT I AM SEEING WHILE RESEARCHING THE ISSUE.
BRAKE PEDAL GETS VERY HARD TO PUSH AT LOW SPEEDS AFTER DEPRESSING 2 OR3 TIMES
AT LOW SPEEDS OR IDLE, POWER BRAKES ARE LOST REQUIRING TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKING TO PREVENT COLLISIONS.
THE TRUCK SHAKES UNCOMFORTABLY AT VARYING INTENSITIES BETWEEN 70-80 MPH.
BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES HARD AFTER PRESSING 2 OR 3 TIMES WHEN ENGINE IS AT OR NEAR IDLE RESULTING IN ABSOLUTELY ZERO BRAKING ABILITY. OCCURS IN BOTH FORWARD AND REVERSE. RESULTED IN HAVING TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO PREVENT A COLLISION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL A COUPLE OF TIMES UNTIL THE VEHICLE FINALLY STOPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO STARLING CHEVROLET (1001 E IRLO BRONSON MEMORIAL HWY, ST CLOUD, FL 34760) WHERE THE BRAKE ASSIST VAUUM PUMP WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 9-5195285314. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.

TRUCK UNDER 52,000 MILES, HAD ALL KNOWN RECALLS (6) PERFORMED AT CLIFF ANSCHUETZ. ALL MAINTENANCE PERFORMED WITHIN MANUFACTURE SPECIFIED GUIDE LINES HERE ALSO. TRUCK NEVER DISPLAYED ERROR CODE OR SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT SINCE PURCHASED NEW. DRIVING HOME FROM WORK 45 MILES AN HOUR MARCH 6, 2019, ENGINE MESSAGE DISPLAYED WITH BEEP TONE: OIL PRESSURE LOW TURN OFF ENGINE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF, LET TRUCK SIT FOR 5 MINUTES. NO OIL OR FLUIDS WHERE LEAKING. OIL APPEARED NORMAL AND AT PROPER LEVEL, DID NOT SMELL BURNED. STARTED ENGINE ERROR CODE WAS GONE, DROVE 1 MILES TO AUTO REPAIR SHOP. SAME ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED AFTER GOING 100'. AUTO REPAIR SHOP GAVE ME BAD NEWS 3 CODES: 1) P0324 KNOCK SENSOR, 2) P0521 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE PERFORMANCE, 3) P06DD ENGINE OIL PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE STUCK OFF. WENT TO FELDMAN CHEVROLET OF HIGHLAND, TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, LAKESIDE TOWING DELIVERED MY TRUCK THERE. FELDMAN WILL NOT COVER REPAIRS STATING OUT OF WARRANTY. WILL GIVE ME $2000 DOLLARS OFF ON CERTI REBUILT MOTOR, MY COST $7,200 W/12 MONTH WARRANTY. NOT ACCEPTABLE. SALESMAN THERE OFFERED ME $8000 AS TRADE IN. WORKING WITH GM COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT, THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN ALL INFORMATION. BEEN NICE BUT SEEMS LIKE I AM CAUGHT IN MIDDLE BETWEEN HER AND SERVICE MANAGER AT FELDMAN. AS OF, 4/30/2019, I AM AWAITING A CALL BACK FROM GM. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT IN THIS ENGINE DESCRIBED IN SO MANY BLOGS! GOOGLE 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 ENGINE FAILURE. VACUUM PUMP ONLY WARRANTIED TO 36K, 2016-17 TRUCKS ONLY HAVE A 60K POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. TELLS YOU SOMETHING, GM DROPPED POWERTRAIN WARRANTY DOWN TO 60K FOR 2016-17. THIS IS NOT COMMON PROBLEM, ONLY A MATTER OF WHEN THE VACUUM PUMP FAILS. PUMP FAILS, STARTS PUMPING METAL DEBRIS BACK INTO OIL/LUBRICATION SYSTEM TAKING OUT THE OIL PUMP THEN THE ENGINE. I OWE FELDMAN $970 FOR TEAR DOWN AND FOR REMOVING OIL PAN!
COMPLETE LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER, POWER STEERING, AIR BAGS, ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, AND STEREO. HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE JUMP STARTED TO MAKE TO HOME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKES SUDDENLY MALFUNCTIONED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. STILLWATER MOTORS (5900 STILLWATER BLVD NORTH, STILLWATER, MN) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
DEFECTIVE AIR CONDITIONING. THE TRUCK HAS AN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM FAIL BEFORE IT HIT 65K. AND BEING LESS THAN 4 YEARS OLD. REALLY FRUSTRATING WHEN A DEALER WANTS 1100 TO 1300 DOLLARS TO FIX SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT BE BROKEN AFTER ONLY 65K MI.
POWER STEERING FAILS WHEN GOING SLOW AND TRYING TO TURN. THE VOLTAGE INDICATOR GOES WAY DOWN INTO MINUS, THEN GOES BACK TO NORMAL. DEALER SAID IT WAS RACK AND PINION. THEY REPLACED IT AND IT FAILED AGAIN TWO DAYS LATER. I BELIEVE THE ELECTRIC STEERING PIWER ASSIST SYSTEM IS AT FAULT.
AT LOW IDLE THE BRAKE ASSIST DOES NOT WORK. I HAVE TO PUSH VERY HARD ON THE BRAKE TO STOP. IN CITY STOP AND GO TRAFFIC IT'S IMPOSSIBLE
AC CONDENSER HAS A HOLE WHICH IS CAUSING THE FREON TO LEAK. THIS IS A KNOWN GM ISSUE THAT HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. DRIVING WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN IS NOT ALWAYS AN OPTION AND AS A RESULT UNSAFE AIR AND HEAT CONDITIONS ARE EXPERIENCED
TAKATA RECALL A/C CONDENSER HAS A LEAK. QUITE A PAIN WHEN THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THESE CHEVY TRUCKS.
RADIATOR FAILURE DUE TO CYCLING OF THE THERMOSTAT. THIS IS A DESIGN PROBLEM. IT IS NOT JUST A COMMON PARTS FAILURE. GM ISSUED SERVICE BULLETIN, PI1513F IN RECOGNITION OF THE FAILURES SEEN IN 2014, 2015 & 2016 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT GM ANNOUNCED IN JANUARY OF 2019 DOES NOTHING FOR MANY OF THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES.

THE CONTACT STATED HE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME HARD TO DEPRESS, THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXCESSIVE PRESSURE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED RECEIVING AN UNKNOWN TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB) SIX MONTHS AGO IN REFERENCE TO THE BRAKES, WHICH TURNED INTO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. WHEN THE TSB WAS RECEIVED, THE CONTACT CALLED CLIFF ANSCHUETZ CHEVROLET (1074 US 23 N, ALPENA MI, 49707) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED THE MILEAGE TO BE REPAIRED PER THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
ABOUT 1 WEEK AGO I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE FOR AN UNRELATED ISSUE. WHILE IT WAS THERE, THEY PERFORMED THE POWER STEERING SAFETY RECALL. AFTER GOING TO TOWN ON FEBRUARY 24TH I STARTED MY TRUCK TO RETURN HOME AND THE DIC SHOWED A MESSAGE WHICH SAID, 'SERVICE POWER STEERING, DRIVE WITH CARE.' I NOW HAVE NO POWER STEERING AND IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE.
CRUISE CONTROL WILL SHUT OFF WHEN USING TURNING SIGNAL OR ROLLING UP WINDOWS. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS IN BUSY INTERSTATE TRAFFIC. SERVICE STABLI TRACK AND STEERING ASSIST REDUCED WILL COME UP ON DISPLAY. POWER STEERING IS INTERMITTENT WHEN TURNING. HEADLIGHTS FLICKER WHEN TURNING SIGNALS ARE USED. TRUCK WILL COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN FOR A SPLIT SECOND WHILE DRIVING THEN EVERYTHING COMES BACK ON, COMPLETE LOSS OF CONTROL WHEN THIS HAPPENS. WHEN KNOB FOR HEADLIGHTS IS TURNED FROM AUTO TO ON POSITION THE DASH AND INSTRUMENT PANEL GETS DIM AND STABLI TRACK AND REDUCED STEERING ASSIST MESSAGE COMES ON. REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT LOCK USING FOB, SOMETIMES I WILL HAVE TO HIT THE UNLOCK BUTTON MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE DOOR WILL UNLOCK AFTER LOCK HAS BEEN MANUALLY PUSHED DOWN. PASSENGER SEAT BELT DING IS ALSO INTERMITTENT, SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT WORK AT ALL. MY TRUCK JUST NOW STARTED HAVING ALL OF THESE ISSUES AT THE EXACT SAME TIME. WE DROVE FROM TEXAS TO KENTUCKY AND BACK TO TEXAS AND THESE ISSUES ALL STARTED DURING THIS TRIP. IT IS NOT SAFE FOR MY FAMILY, I HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT CHEVROLET AND CURRENTLY OWN THIS TRUCK AND A TAHOE BUT THEY MAY BE MY LAST. ALL BULBS ARE GOOD, ALL FUSES AND RELAYS ARE GOOD. TRUCK NOW HAS 66000 MILES ON IT. BATTERY WAS REPLACED AROUND 59000 MILES. SEEMS TO BE A WIRING OR ECM (COMPUTER) ISSUE TO ME. I SEE MANY COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO MINE BUT YET NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR MY VIN NUMBER.
AT SLOW SPEED BRAKING SUCH AS ENTERING A PARKING SPOT BOTH FORWARD AND REVERSE AND SLOW SPEED BRAKING AS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THE BRAKES SEEM TO STOP WORKING AND THE PEDAL GETS HARD TO DEPRESS. STOPPING OCCURS WHEN GREAT FOOT PRESSURE IS APPLIED AND MAINTAINED. EVEN THEN IT WILL CREEP FORWARD OR BACKWARD A FEW INCHES
MY TRUCK TENDS TO MIMIC THE 19V761 RECALL OF 2014-2018 CHEVROLET SILVERADOS WITH THE 5.3L ENGINE AND 3.08 REAR AXLE. HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE IS THE 4.3L ON OCCASION, MY TRUCK WILL PULL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT UNINTENTIONALLY DUE TO THE BRAKES BEING USED OUT OF MY CONTROL. I'M PARTICULARLY LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE EVERY 2-3 SECONDS WHILE THIS IS HAPPENING. THE DEFECT ALSO HAPPENS MORE OFTEN WHILE TRAVELING ABOVE 35 MPH AND DOWNHILL. MOST RECENTLY DURING A SNOW STORM IN 4WD. THE 'EPISODE' USUALLY LASTS UNTIL I RESTART THE VEHICLE. IF IT RESOLVES BEFORE I RESTART IT DOES SO VICIOUSLY, AND STEERING WHEEL CORRECTS ITSELF WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING. I'VE BEEN TO DEALERSHIP AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE'S NOT A RECALL FOR VIN NUMBER.
DURING A RECENT COLD SPELL I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 SILVERADO HOME WITH THE RE DEFROSTER ON. RANDOMLY I STARTED HEARING A WHISTLING SOUND, THEN WHEN I REACHED MY HOME I SAW THAT THE REAR WINDOW (TO THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE SLIDING WINDOW) HAD RANDOMLY SHATTERED LEAVING GLASS PIECES ON THE TONNEAU COVER AND HAD FALLEN IN ON MY DAUGHTERS CAR SEAT. THERE WAS NO IMPACT OR OTHER EVENT THAT PRECIPITATED THE SHATTERING, BUT AFTER OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR THE HOLE HAS SPREAD AND MORE GLASS CONTINUES TO FALL OUT.
WHEN TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS ON A DOWNHILL GRADE FOR EXAMPLE BACKING INTO A PARKING SPACE THE BRAKES SOMETIMES FAIL BY REQUIRING EXTREME FOOT PRESSURE TO STOP AND REQUIRING EXTRA BRAKING DISTANCE. IT'S HAPPENED ABOUT 20 TIMES OVER THE LAST YEAR AND IT IS SO SPORADIC AND UNEXPECTED THAT IT SCARES YOU TO DEATH WHEN IT DOES. IT ALSO HAPPENS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC WHEN THE TRUCK IS SLOWLY CREEPING DOWN A LIGHT GRADE.
FAULTY BRAKES AT LOW SPEEDS. BRAKE PEDAL EXTREMELY STIFF, LOSS OF POWER ASSIST.
WHEN I STARTED THE ENGINE AND BACKED OUT OF MY PARKING SPACE, THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP WHILE PRESSING HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE NEAREST DEALER AND THE FAULTY BRAKE VACUUM PUMP WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE PROBLEM.
MY BRAKES ARE NOT STOPPING PROPERLY, I WAS ADVISED IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD CAUSE A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. MY RADIATOR ALSO HAD BEGAN TO LEAK FROM THE FRONT OF MY HOOD. IT'S BEEN MAINTENANCE AND I'VE NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THERE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE GOING OUT SO QUICKLY, AT RISK OF OVERHEATING OR FIRE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO UEBELHOR AND SONS CHEVROLET (972 WERNSING RD, JASPER, IN 47546, (812) 220-4860) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 9-5037917388. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.

ALSO WHEN I TURN LEFT OR RIGHT DRIVING SLOW THE POWER STEERING GETS HARD AND CAUSES STEREO SCREEN TO TURN OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS, AND CAUSES HEADLIGHTS TO DIM. ALSO THE INTERIOR LIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS DIM. IT'S VERY UNSAFE WHEN TURNING, CAN ALMOST LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL FOR STEERING JERKING. NOT ONLY DOES THIS HAPPEN WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION BUT ALSO WHEN TRUCK IS STATIONARY.
WHEN LOCKING DOORS PASSENGER REAR DOOR DOES NOT LOCK WHEN PARKED HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK
