I WAS TRAVELLING AT ROUGHLY 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY WHEN WE ENCOUNTERED AND UNEXPECTED ROAD CREW I APPLIED MY BRAKES FIRMLY AND SLOWED TO APPROXIMATELY 40MPH AND CHANGED LANES TO AVOID THE HAZARD.. ALMOST INSTANTLY I WAS CUTOFF AT THE SLOWER SPEED AND NEEDED TO APPLY MY BRAKES AGAIN, THIS TIME THE PEDAL WAS FIRM AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT REACT. I AVOIDED THE COLLISION BY SWERVING INTO THE NEXT LANE. THE PEDAL HAD NO AFFECT ON STOPPING THE VEHICLE IN THIS SITUATION.
DROVE 35 MILES. STOPPED OK. BACKED UP ABOUT 5 MPH. BRAKE PEDAL WOULD ONLY PUSH DOWN ABOUT ONE QUARTER INCH WITH NO BRAKING ACTION. PRESSED AS HARD AS POSSIBLE AND GOT SLIGHT BRAKING. WE HAD IT REPAIRED AT A SHOP AND THEY SAID IT WAS A VACUUM PUMP AND A SENSOR THAT HAD GONE BAD.
ANY TIME, WHILE I AM DRIVING, THE BRAKES TURN ROCK HARD WHEN TRYING TO BRAKE. WHEN IT FIRST STARTED A LITTLE OVER A WEEK AGO, THE BRAKES WOULD ONLY TURN HARD WHEN I WAS GOING 20MPH OR SLOWER. NOW IT'S EVERYTIME I TRY TO BRAKE WHILE DRIVING. EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE IT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I AM STATIONARY. WHEN IT FIRST HAPPENED A LITTLE OVER A WEEK AGO I ALMOST HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME WHILE I WAS COMING TO A STOP LIGHT. IT TOOK EVERYTHING I HAD IN ME TO STOP MY VEHICLE DUE TO THE BRAKES. MY HUSBAND, WHO IS A MECHANIC, LOOKED AT MY BRAKE PADS AND THEY ARE FINE. I KEEP HAVING THE SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST BADGE POP UP ON MY DASH WHEN I HAVE TROUBLE BRAKING. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS TO FIX THE VACUUM PUMP, BRAKE BOOSTER, OR WHATEVER MAYBE CAUSING THE ISSUE. THIS HAPPENS NOW EVERYTIME I'M DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, COUNTRY ROAD, MY DRIVEWAY, OR TURNING. I HAVE COMPLETELY STOPPED DRIVING MY TRUCK UNTIL THE ISSUE IS FIXED, DUE TO IT BEING A SAFETY HAZARD FOR MY FAMILY AND OTHERS. I HAVE HORSES SO I USE MY TRUCK ON A DAILY OCCURRENCE TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR NEEDS. THE PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND A RECALL NEEDS TO HAPPEN.
BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASES AFTER A SERIES OF BRAKE APPLICATIONS AT LOW SPEED. BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES VERY FIRM AND PULSATES, STOPPING BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT. PEDAL FEEL RETURNS TO NORMAL AFTER DRIVING A SHORT DISTANCE BUT THE ISSUE RETURNS AFTER A SERIES OF BRAKE PEDAL APPLICATIONS IN A SHORT TIME SPAN. FIRST NOTICED IN A PARKING LOT AS PULLING INTO A SPACE, BUT PROBLEM REPEATED ON CITY STREETS AS PULLING UP TO STOP LIGHTS OR IN CITY STOP AND GO TRAFFIC.
WHEN TRAFFIC IS STOP AND GO I LOSE THE POWER BREAKS AND HAVE TO PUSE EXTRA HARD TO STOP TRUCK
MY HEADLIGHTS ARE FLICKERING. WHEN STEERING, HEADLIGHTS DIM. WHEN USING TURN SIGNALS, HEADLIGHTS DIM. POWER STEERING RANDOMLY CUTS OUT IN PARKING LOTS. TRAILER BRAKE SERVICE WARNING CAME UP ON INSTRUMENT SCREEN. I READ GROUND G218 IS CAUSING A SHORT AND I REMOVED THE INSULATION UNDER THE NUT THAT COULD CAUSE HIGH RESISTANCE AND IT FIXED EVERYTHING FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS BUT THE LIGHTS AND STEERING PROBLEM IS STILL HAPPENING. DEALER THOUGHT MAYBE TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM BUT I DID NOT HAVE THEM REPLACE, INSTEAD FOUND G218 ISSUES ONLINE. NO OPEN RECALLS. SOUNDS SIMILAR TO OTHER COMPLAINTS. NO CODES. NO ISSUE WITH BATTERY OR ALTERNATOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE. SHE PARKED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR HAD EXPLODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROYAL NISSAN SUBARU (LOCATED AT 3845 NY-281, CORTLAND, NY 13045, (607) 753-9774) WHERE THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR WAS REPLACED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE SAME DEALER AND NOTIFIED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,333.
AT START UP THE RADIO AND INFO SCREEN ON DASH BETWEEN THE RPM AND SPEEDOMETER WAS RESET AS IF THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED. THE POWER STEERING DIED OUT LATER ON A TURN ONTO MY BLOCK AND WAS ON AND OFF AS IT JERKED OUT OF MY HANDS WHILE PARALLEL PARKING. START UP THE NEXT DAY AND THE RESET WAS BACK WITH THE WHEEL FREE TO TURN FOR NOW. I HAVEN'T MOVED THE TRUCK FOR FEAR OF THE STEERING GOING OUT AGAIN. TRUCK HAS 44,450 MILES.
AFTER DRIVING FOR LONG PERIODS, THE POWER BRAKES BECOME INOPERATIVE WHEN DRIVING SLOWLY. THIS FIRST HAPPENED ABOUT ONE YEAR AGO. I WAS PUZZLED. IT DID NOT HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL NOW. IT IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL.
AT 61K MILES, WHEN BACKING UP SLOWLY, GENERALLY INTO A PARKING SPACE, THE BRAKES FREEZE. ONLY AFTER PUMPING THEM OR PUTTING THE TRUCK IN PARK, DO THE BRAKES COMPRESS AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEASE 4 TIMES IN THE PASSED 2 WEEKS.
WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON ANY STREET SURFACE AND I APPLY THE BREAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL GETS HARD, CAUSING INCREASED BRAKING EFFORT AND LONGER STOPPING DISTANCES. LOCAL DEALERSHIP DETERMINED IT WAS THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP.
MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION I STARTED HEARING A LOUD NOISE AS I WAS COMING TO YIELD BECAUSE OF SLOW TRAFFIC IT WAS HARD FOR ME TO BRAKE I WAS HAVING DIFFICULT TIME BRAKING I WOULD HAVE TO PRESS BRAKE ALL THE WAY DOWN FOR IT TO COME TO A VERY SLOW AND LONG DISTANT STOP I HAD TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AND HAD TO GET MY TRUCK TOWED IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME MY WARRANTY DIDN'T COVER IT SO I HAD TO PAY IT ENDED BEING A BRAKE HOSE THAT BUSTED I PAYED ABOUT $850 AND I HAVE THE RECEIPT FOR IT FROM THE DEALERSHIP I FELT VERY SCARED THIS SITUATION IS VERY DANGEROUS HAD TO GET A RENTAL THAT I PAYED FOR WHILE I WAITED FOR MY TRUCK TO GET REPAIRED .
BRAKES BECAME HARD TO PUSH AND TRUCK WOULDN'T STOP. IT STARTED OFF WHEN BACKING INTO A PARKING SPOT AND THEN DRIVING FORWARD SLOWLY. THAT WAS LAST FALL. NOW THE BRAKES ARE HARD TO DEPRESS ALL THE TIME, AND SOMETIMES HAVE TO USE BOTH FEET. BROUGHT IT TO MECHANIC SHOP AND IT IS THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, A TAPPING NOISE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND WHITE SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE EXHAUST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BILL NAVARRE CHEVROLET (1620 BEGLIS PKWY, SULPHUR, LA 70663) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,446.

ALSO, THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO ENGAGE IN ANY GEAR. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS PUSHED TO A PARKING LOT. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. SUSPENSION MAKES NOISES WHEN TURNING OR GOING OVER BUMP. DRIVER SEAT FEELS LIKE IT MOVES/SHIFTS SLIGHTLY WHEN MAKING A TURN. NO BRAKE PEDAL OR 'ROCK' HARD BRAKE PEDAL AT LOW SPEEDS, IN TRAFFIC, OR WHEN IN REVERSE.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO LTZ USED AT A DEALERSHIP HERE IN ATLANTA, GA. EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE FINE AND I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE TRUCK UNTIL ONE DAY WHEN SLOWLY TURNING LEFT THE POWER STEERING SHUT OFF, AND THEN CAUSED THE TRUCK TO STALL IN INCOMING TRAFFIC. AS THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN, I BROUGHT MY TRUCK TO MY LOCAL JIM ELLIS CHEVROLET SERVICE DEPARTMENT IN CHAMBLEE, GA. THEY RECOGNIZED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL IN THESE TRUCKS FOR THIS ALREADY AND SAID THAT THEY HAD THE ISSUE RESOLVED. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED AGAIN THREE TIMES, MOST RECENTLY THIS MORNING AT 6:30AM ON 10/30/18. I HAVE DROPPED OFF MY TRUCK AGAIN AT THE SAME DEALER, BUT I FEAR THEY WILL HAVE THE SAME, "UNABLE TO RE-CREATE" RESULT AS LAST TIME. ON THE RECALL WEBSITES I HAVE RESEARCHED, IT SEEMS THE RECALL NUMBER IS: 17V414000. PLEASE ADVISE, AS I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO WITH THIS ISSUE. PAINT ON MY 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO BUBBLING AND PEELING OFF
TRUCK DIES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION NEARLY CAUSING AN INJURY. DRIVER HAS TO GET OUT OF THE TRUCK IN SAID BUSY INTERSECTION TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM, BECAUSE TRUCK WOULD NOT TURN ON. THIS IS NOT A BATTERY ISSUE. RESEARCH HAS PROVEN HUNDREDS OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THESE SAME ISSUES WITH THIS PARTICULAR TRUCK.TRUCK DIES SEVERAL TIMES A DAY WHILE TURNING OR PULLING INTO A DRIVEWAY OR PARKING SPOT. ELECTRICITY GLITCHES WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IF A BUMP IS HIT OR IF THE BRAKES ARE PRESSED MILDLY HARD. AS FOR THE DATE BELOW, IT HAPPENS LITERALLY EVERY DAY. THE CAUSE FOR COMPLAINT IS THE TRUCK DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
JUST PURCHASED TRUCK USED LESS THAN 2 WEEKS IN TRUCK WAS THROWING WARNING FOR STABLETRACK AC WOULD STOP WORKING RADIO WOULD STOP WORKING THEN LOADED UP THE FAMILY TO TAKE A LITTLE TRIP ABOUT 30 MILES AWAY WHEN YOU GOT TO THE DESTINATION GOING SLOW ON A RIGHT TURN TRUCK VIOLENTLY WHIPS STEERING WHEEL OUT OF HAND AND STALLS RESTART A TRUCK AND PROCEEDED FORWARD WITHIN 5 MINUTES IT REPEATED THE ABOVE VERY DANGEROUS HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD THE HALO AROUND IN THIS TRUCK AND I FEAR FOR OUR LIVES
VEHICLE LOOSES POWER WHEN TURNING, RADIO SCREEN FLASHES ON/OFF, STABILITRAK ERROR DISPLAYS ON SCREEN, TOTAL LOSS OF POWER TO VEHICLE WHILE ON THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING WHILE IN MOTION. THIS SPECIFIC VIN# WAS INVOLVED IN A RECALL FOR THE EXACT ISSUE LAST YEAR AND WAS REPAIRED BUT IS STILL FUNCTIONING AS PER MANUFACTURER AGREEMENT. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO BE ON THE ROAD AS IS. TOOK IT BACK TO AUTONATION GULF FWY TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC THEY CLAIMED IT WAS THE NEG BATT TERMINAL, I GOT THAT FIXED STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. GM NOR CHEVY WANT TO HELP WITH THIS ISSUE. I GUESS THEY ARE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE BEFORE THEY TAKE THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY . I DON'T SEE PAYING FOR ALL THE REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET IF I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AUG 28, 2018 AND WAS NEVER INFORMED THAT IT HAD BEEN INVOLVED IN A RECALL.
BOUGHT MY 2014 SILVERADO AND AROUND 20,000 MILES IT SEEMS LIKE THE BRAKES GOT HARD AND DIDN'T WANTED TO STOP. TURNED IT OFF AND AFTER A LITTLE BIT TURN IT ON AND EVERYTHING WAS WORKING GOOD. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. IT WORKET GOOD FOR A LONG TIME AND DID IT AGAIN AND THEY TOLD ME AT THE DEALER THAT WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED (HAD OVER 36K) SO I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM NEITHER. LAST WEEK DID IT AGAIN NOW IT HAS 60K MILES READING HERE AND THERE NOTICE THAT THERE'S A LOT OF TRUCKS AROUND THE SAME YEAR AND ALL POINT TO THE VACUUM PUMP. IT DOES THIS WHEN IS SLOW RUNNING AND AFTER A GOOD TIME RUNNING LIKE ON A TRIP OR SO. IM AFRAID OF INSTALLING THE PUMP AND STILL THE SAME. CAUSE ONLY DOES IT IN RARE OCASIONS
STARTED SMELLING ANTIFREEZE NOTICE HAPPENED TO REPLACE ANTIFREEZE DID NOT FIND A LEAK FOR A COUPLE WEEKS THEN NOTICED AROUND RADIATOR WAS WET WITH ANTIFREEZE STARTED LEAKING WORSE FIND OUT THERE'S A RECALL ON 2014 SILVERADO RADIATOR CALL DEALER SAID ONLY CERTAIN TRUCKS ARE BEING TAKEN CARE OF THE REST FOR SCREWED
POWER STEERING IS GIVING OUT FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME CAUSING ISSUES WHILE TURNING AT LOWER SPEEDS & ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK A FEW TIMES AND THEN STABILITY CONTROL AND DASH ITEMS, AC & RADIO TURN OFF WHILE THIS HAPPENING - EVERYTHING MY TRUCK IS EXPERIENCING IS AS DESCRIBED IN RECALL INFO BELOW FROM CONSUMER AFFAIRS. THIS IS TAKEN PLACE A FEW TIMES AND MOST RECENTLY TOOK TRUCK INTO DEALERSHIP ON 10/12/18. WHEN POWER STEERING IS LOST, DRIVERS MAY ALSO NOTICE A DASHBOARD LIGHT WARNING THEM OF A POWER STEERING FAULT, OR THEY MAY NOTICE THAT ALL DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS ARE TEMPORARILY DISABLED, THE AGENCY SAYS. OTHER RELATED ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, SUCH AS TRACTION CONTROL, AIR CONDITIONING, WARNING CHIMES, POWER DOOR LOCKS, AND CRUISE CONTROL, MAY ALSO STOP WORKING WHEN THE POWER STEERING HAS BEEN LOST.
I LOSE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WHILE TURNING HARD LEFT SOMETIMES MY LIGHTS FLICKER WHEN I USE MY LEFT DIRECTIONAL SIGNALS AT TIMES AFTER A HARD LEFT TURN ENGINE STALLS TALK TO MY DEALER THE DEALER SAYS HE CANNOT HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS THAT COULD BE INVOLVED I HAVE 88,000 MILES ON THIS TRUCK AND THE DEALER SAYS IF HE TRIES TO ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THIS I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY HIM HE CANNOT TELL ME HOW MANY HOURS IT WOULD TAKE. ON TWO OR THREE WEBSITES I HAVE FOUND ONE IS A GM WEBSITE MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE.
AT LOWER SPEEDS, THE POWER STEERING APPEARS TO STOP WORKING. THIS HAS CAUSED NEAR CRASHES. RANDOM TIMES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING OR REVERSING AT 5 TO 10 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED TO DEPRESS. THE FAILURE MADE IT DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS ALSO A LOSS OF POWER STEERING ABILITY AT THE SAME LOW SPEEDS. THE FAILURES OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER (CHELSEA CHEVROLET BUICK, 2038 MCKERNAN DR, CHELSEA, MI 48118, (734) 475-8663) STATED THAT THEY KNEW ABOUT THE FAILURES, BUT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD HELP WITH THE POWER STEERING FAILURE SINCE IT COULD STILL BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER SUGGESTED THAT THE CONTACT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO BE EVALUATED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. *TT CONSUMER STATED POWER STEERING FAILED AGAIN SINCE THIS REPORT. UPDATED 11/29/18*JB *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE RECALL WORK WAS COMPLETED IN SEPTEMBER BUT DID NOT FIX THE DEFECT.
THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING AROUND A CURVE AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH WHEN THE STEERING LOCKED. THE DRIVER IS UNCLEAR IF THE BREAKS WORKED OR NOT, BUT HE ENDED UP STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL ACCIDENTALLY. HE HIT A TREE HEAD ON AND TOTALED THE TRUCK. HE NOTICED THE AUDIO SYSTEM LOST THE SIGNAL FROM HIS IPHONE AND BEGAN PLAYING THE LOCAL RADIO STATION AT THE SAME TIME. THE IPHONE WAS CONNECTED VIA AN AUXILIARY CORD. THE DRIVER IS FAMILIAR WITH A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND IS QUITE SURE THE STEERING LOCKED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE MOVED EVEN WITH CONSIDERABLE EFFORT. THE DRIVER WAS TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE AND IS LUCKY TO HAVE ONLY MINOR INJURIES. PRIOR TO THIS, RECALL #17276 WAS COMPLETED ON THE TRUCK, BUT AFTER THAT IT DID HAVE AN ELECTRICAL INCIDENT WHERE ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WENT HAYWIRE, BLINKING & BEEPING & TURNING ON & OFF, THEN EVERYTHING WENT DEAD, INCLUDING THE STEERING. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO REPLACED THE BATTERY & FOUND NO OTHER PROBLEMS. WE KEPT THE BATTERY THEY REPLACED, HAD IT TESTED & IT WAS FOUND TO BE FINE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED INTERMITTENTLY AND VARIOUS OTHER WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM FLICKERED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. IN ADDITION, THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SEIZED EACH TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE DEALER (ED BOZARTH CHEVROLET, 5501 DREXEL RD, LAS VEGAS, NV 89130, (702) 967-5500) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT AT THE DEALER FOR WEEKS. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A GROUND POINT G218 FAILURE WITH A HIGH NEGATIVE RESISTANCE CONCERNING THE BATTERY CABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
COMPLETE A/C FAILURE IN 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 LTZ Z71 WHILE ON VACATION. STOPPED TO GET GAS AND A/C WOULD NOT COOL UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. 475 MILES LATER AT 95 DEGREES, I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP. DEFECTIVE CONDENSER HAD TO BE REPLACED, (AT MY EXPENSE), WITH NEW "REDESIGNED" GM PART AT A COST OF $1,309.94. FOUND NUMEROUS EXAMPLES OF THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEMS THROUGH MY DEALER AND THE INTERNET. GM HAS OFFERED NO RELIEF FOR THIS DEFECT. IN FACT THEY HAVE TRIED TO MISLEAD ME BY STATING THAT THE DEALER USED A REFURBISHED PART WHICH IS NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY. THIS IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE!
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE TRAVELING AT LOW SPEED, MY BRAKE PEDAL BECAME HARD AND WOULD NOT FUNCTION NORMALLY. AFTER USING A GREAT DEAL OF FORCE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BUT EXCEEDED THE DISTANCE AT WHICH I WAS TRYING TO STOP WITHIN. THANKFULLY A COLLISION DID NOT OCCUR AND THERE WAS NO HARM TO ANYONE.
THIS IS THE 3RD AC CONDENSER THAT HAS FAILED ON THIS SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE. GM REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IS IS A FACTORY DEFECTIVE PART AND CONTINUES TO CHARGE CUSTOMERS $1,000'S OF DOLLARS FOR REPAIRS. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS. WHO IS GOING TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE?
RUST ACCUMULATION IS VERY EXTREME
WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A TURN, USUALLY ALWAYS USING TURN SIGNAL, MY TRUCK WILL COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION WITH NO WARNING. THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN AND ALL ELECTRICAL IS LOST. LUCKILY I HAVEN'T BEEN HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE TRYING TO RESTART MY TRUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. AFTER I GET TRUCK STARTED THERE ARE NUMEROUS ERROR CODES IN THE DISPLAY: OPEN AND CLOSE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW, STABILATRAK, STEERING WHEEL ASSIST, STABILATRAK REDUCE SPEED B/C OF STEERING ASSIST, 2 KEYS PROGRAMMED. ALSO WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED (70-80 MPH) ON HIGHWAY THE STABILATRAK ERROR WOULD APPEAR WHEN I PUT TURN SIGNAL ON TO CHANGE LANES BUT TRUCK HAS NOT YET SHUT DOWN UNDER THAT CONDITION. I HAVE TAKEN MY TRUCK TO 2 DIFFERENT CHEVROLET DEALERS FOR THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. THE LAST TIME THE TRUCK SHUT DOWN ON ME WAS 9-19-2018 AND THE TRUCK DID NOT START RIGHT AWAY AND MY 4-WAY FLASHERS DID NOT WORK WHILE I WAS STRANDED IN THE INTERSECTION.
I AM THE 2ND OWNER AND HAVE ONLY OWNED IT FOR 10 MONTHS. I HAVE FREQUENTLY HEARD CRACKING/POPPING NOISES WHILE DRIVING, BUT NO OTHER TRAFFIC NEAR, AND NO DAMAGE TO WINDSHIELD. THIS MORNING, I GOT IN THE TRUCK AND NOTICED A VERY LARGE CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD. AS I HAVEN'T EVER HIT A ROCK IN THIS TRUCK, I WAS VERY CURIOUS. UPON CLOSER INSPECTION, THERE IS ZERO EVIDENCE OF ANY EXTERNAL FACTORS THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED SUCH A LARGE AND SPONTANEOUS CRACK TO APPEAR WHILE I WAS IN BED SLEEPING LAST NIGHT. TO BE FAIR, I HAVEN'T REPORTED IT TO A DEALER YET SINCE I JUST FOUND THE CRACK THIS MORNING, BUT THAT WILL BE MY NEXT STEP, ALTHOUGH I'M HIGHLY PESSIMISTIC THAT THEY WILL BE WILLING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT (WHAT APPEARS IN MY OPINION TO BE) A DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD. MY VERY FIRST SEARCH ON THE INTERNET LED ME TO MANY MANY OTHER CONSUMERS WHO HAVE REPORTED THE SAME PROBLEMS (MYSTERIOUS CRACK/POP SOUNDS WHEN NO OTHER TRAFFIC IS AROUND, OR DRIVING SLOWLY, AND SUDDEN/SPONTANEOUS CRACKS WITH NO ASSOCIATED DAMAGE TO THE GLASS. TO BE CLEAR, THIS CRACK APPEARD OVER NIGHT WHILE I WAS SLEEPING!
WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL IT BECOME VERY STIFF. IN THE DIC, 'SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST ' APEARS. HARD TO STOP WHEN MOVING AT TIMES, ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING SLOW. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE TRAVELING WITH MY FAMILY IN THIS VEHICLE.
THE STEERING BINDS UP ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS, AND AT TIMES AN AUDIBLE CLUNK CAN BE HEARD WHEN TURNING LEFT. IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE STEERING RACK & PINION UNIT FAILED WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE INNER TIE ROD CONNECTS TO THE GEAR.
PRODUCT SAFETY RECALL 17276 LOSS OF STEERING ASSIST -- MY TRUCK IS NOT INVOLVED IN THIS RECALL, BUT I AM HAVING THE EXACT ISSUES DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL, SUDDEN LOSS AND RETURN OF EPS ASSIST. THIS HAPPENS AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN TURNING OR BACKING, BOTH FORWARD AND REVERSE MOTIONS. I AM ALSO HAVING ISSUES WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SHUTTING OFF INTERMITTENTLY WHEN ACTIVATING THE TURN INDICATOR TO CHANGE LANES. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS MAY BE RELATED TO THIS RECALL, AS THE ELECTRICAL SOFTWARE ISSUES CAN CAUSE OTHER ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS TO BECOME TEMPORARILY DISABLED, SUCH AS THE RADIO, STABILITRACK, DIC, CHIMES, DOOR-LOCK CYCLING, AIR CONDITIONING, OR CRUISE CONTROL. ALSO, WHEN THE TURN INDICATOR IS ACTIVATED AND THE CRUISE CONTROL SHUTS OFF, THE DASH LIGHTS ALSO FLICKER. I HAVE ALREADY HAD THIS TRUCK IN TO THE DEALER ONCE TO FIX THIS, AND THEY REFUSED TO RUN THE RECALL BECAUSE MY TRUCK WAS NOT IN THE RECALL GROUP. INSTEAD THEY CHARGED ME OVER $1,000 TO REPLACE A STEERING WHEEL POSITION SENSOR, WHICH I NOW DOUBT WAS THE PROBLEM SINCE THE ISSUES WITH LOSS OF STEERING AND DISABLING OF CRUISE CONTROL HAVE RETURNED. I JUST WANT THIS FIXED.

I TRACED ISSUE TO A BAD GROUND CONNECTION IN THE DASH. SOUND REDUCTION MATERIAL WAS PINCHED UNDER GROUND STUD CONNECTION CAUSING HIGH RESISTANCE CONNECTION. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE IT WILL EFFECT CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHEN IT FAILS. IT IS A ASSEMBLY ISSUE ON THE PRODUCTION LINE AND ALL VEHICLES NEED TO BE RECALLED FOR INSPECTION OF THIS ISSUE.

THE DEALER (KINGMAN CHEVROLET BUICK, 3730 STOCKTON HILL RD, KINGMAN, AZ 86409, 928-757-4041) DIAGNOSED THAT A PART ON THE MIDDLE SHAFT DETERIORATED AND CAUSED THE U JOINT TO FAIL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE U JOINT WAS FREEZING AND LACKED LUBRICATION, WHICH CAUSED THE STEERING FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. **TR *TR
WE STARTED HAVING A PROBLEM WITH OUR AIR CONDITION FOR 3 MONTHS NOW, IT JUST BLOWS WARM AIR. WE TRIED TAKING IT TO THE DEALER BUT WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED WITH THE WARRANTY. WE FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE CONDENSER. I'VE FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS SO MUCH PEOPLE COMPLAINING WITH THE SAME ISSUE & WITH THE SAME VEHICLE. WHETHER THE CAR WAS RUNNING OR STATIONARY OR IN WHICH ROAD IT WAS GOING THE AIR CONDITIONER DOES NOT WORK AT ALL IT WAS JUST BLOWING HOT AIR.
BOTH DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELTS IN THE BACK SEAT WILL NOT RETRACT. WHEN PASSENGERS PULL OUT THE SEATBELTS TO BUCKLE THEMSELVES IN, THE SEATBELT THEN HAS SLACK AND WILL NOT RETRACT AT ALL. THIS MAKES IT VERY UNSAFE FOR PASSENGERS AND CHILDREN RIDING IN THE BACK SEAT. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN OCCURING AROUND MAY 2018.
