PAINT PEELING, THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD. PEELING AROUND THE DOORS BUT GM WONT FIX IT AND NOW ITS OUT OF WARRANTY.
HEATED SEATS WORKING TO MFG SPECS PER DEALER BUT NO HEAT CAN BE FELT. DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY HEAR THIS COMPLAINT FROM MANY AND THAT IT IS A POOR DESIGN ON THE PART OF THE MFG. I LOOKED ON SOCIAL MEDIA & MESSAGE BOARDS TO FIND THIS ISSUE IS A COMMON COMPLAINT. CHEVY SAYS THERE IS NO ISSUE BECAUSE SEATS ARE WORKING TO SPECS, WON'T GIVE ANY INFO FOR WHO ELSE TO CONTACT AT CHEVY TO ADDRESS THIS WIDESPREAD COMMON COMPLAINT. CHEVY REP SAYS THEY WILL NEED TO BE COMPELLED BY FEDERAL GOV TO ISSUE ANY RECALL AND WILL NOT VOLUNTARILY ADDRESS IT EVEN IF IT IS DETERMINED TO BE A POOR DESIGN. CONSUMERS PAID FOR HEATED SEATS THAT DUE TO A POOR DESIGN, DO NOT GET HOT, AND CHEVROLET IS REFUSING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. BASED UPON SOCIAL MEDIA & MESSAGE BOARDS ONLINE, THE COMPLAINT SEEMS TO BE SPECIFIC TO THE HEATED & AIR CONDITIONED LEATHER BUCKET SEATS IN THE 2014 & 2015 SILVERADO AND LIKELY GMC SIERRA AS WELL. CHEVY APPARENTLY KNOWS ABOUT THE ISSUE AND POSSIBLY REDESIGNED THE SEATS FOR THE 16 AND NEWER MODELS AS THERE ARE FEW COMPLAINTS THAT I COULD FIND FOR THOSE MODEL YEARS. IT SEEMS TO BE LIMITED TO 2 MODEL YEARS AND ONE TYPE OF SEAT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS AND CONTACT THE APPROPRIATE CONTACTS AT CHEVROLET TO COMPEL THEM TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND GIVE THEIR CUSTOMERS THE FEATURE THEY PAID FOR, HEATED SEATS THAT ACTUALLY GET WARM. MINE STAY COOL TO THE TOUCH ON MY 30 MILE, 45 MINUTE DRIVE TO WORK DESPITE BEING TOLD THAT THEY ARE WORKING TO MFG SPEC. I HAVE HEATED SEATS IN BOTH MY CAMARO & IMPALA THAT HEAT UP NICELY IN JUST A FEW SECONDS AND THAT IS WHAT I EXPECT IN MY NEWER, TWICE AS EXPENSIVE, SILVERADO HIGH COUNTRY. PLEASE COMPEL THEM TO ISSUE A RECALL OR MONETARY SETTLEMENT TO REIMBURSE FOR A FEATURE THAT DOES NOT PERFORM THE TASK ADVERTISED.
62000 MILES, AND MY 2014 SILVERADO'S, AC CONDENSOR IS GAPPED, AND SEEPING FREON...THIS NEEDS TO BE A NATIONAL RECALL. EVEN AN AC MAN TOLD ME HE KEEPS A HUGE AMOUNT OF THESE CONDENSORS ON HAND BECAUSE THEY BREAK TOO OFTEN, AND TOO EARLY IN A 2014-15 SILVERADO'S. SIMPLY A DESIGN FLAW ..AND SAY TO COSTLY FOR SUCH A SIMPLE CRACK. THANK YOU FOR RECALLING THIS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY LOST POWER AND SHOOK VIOLENTLY. IN ADDITION, THE ANTI-THEFT, TRACTION CONTROL, AND WINDOW INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT VEERED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE CONTACT DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO ROSS DOWNING BUICK GMC (1301 S MORRISON BLVD, HAMMOND, LA 70403, (985) 269-0701). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE DISTRIBUTION BLOCK WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 101,000.
THE PAINT IS PEELING ON THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER DOOR ON THE LOWER PART NEAR THE FRONT OF THE DOOR. THIS TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR HAD ANY TYPE OF WORK DONE TO THE PAINT.
THIS BRAKE ISSUE IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. WITH MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY GM HASN'T MADE THIS A RECALL YET. ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION MY BRAKES HAVE STIFFENED UP AND STOPPED WORKING. ONE TIME WAS AT A STOP SIGN AND I HAD TO DRIVE IN THE DITCH TO AVOID HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. ANOTHER TIME WAS IN REVERSE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT AND I NEARLY HIT A PARKED TRUCK. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. GM, WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM FAILED BECAUSE OF A LEAKING CONDENSER WITH ONLY 51,000 MILES ON THE TRUCK. RESEARCHED AND FOUND THIS TO BE A FREQUENT PROBLEM THAT GM IS AWARE OF. GM NEEDS TO RECALL THIS AND REPAIR THESE VEHICLES. I WROTE TO CHEVY AND THEY WILL NOT REIMBURSE THE FEES I HAD TO PAY FOR REPAIR. THE ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, THIS SYSTEM FAILING WHEN JUST OUTSIDE WARRANTY IS NOT RIGHT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEATED SEAT SENSOR AND COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM CEASED TO FUNCTION. SETH WADLEY CHEVROLET BUICK OF ADA (1301 N BROADWAY AVE, ADA, OK) WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE GMC MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT STATED THE HEATED SEATS WERE REPAIRED ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED AND THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
FAILURE OF STEERING, STABILITRAC, STEREO. WHEN YOU TRY TO STEER, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD JERK IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, THE DASH LIGHTS WOULD FLICKER, THE HEAD LIGHTS FLICKER, THE RADIO WOULD MAKE A SHORTING SOUND, AND THE SERVICE STABILITRAC WOULD DISPLAY. AN ONLINE SEARCH FOUND SEVERAL THREADS ON THIS PROBLEM. IT HAS THE POSSIBILITY OF KILLING SOMEONE. GM HAS ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN (PIT5405A) RELATED TO THIS PROBLEM, YET THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL? THE MOST COMMON SOLUTION APPEARS TO BE SOME RUBBER INSULATION PINCHED UNDER A GROUND LUG UNDER THE DASH SO IT'S NOT MAINTENANCE RELATED. YET, THEY ARE CHARGING OWNERS TO FIX IT?
WHILE AT A CHEVY DEALER TO HAVE A RECALL (17276 LOSS OF POWER STEERING) DONE ON MY TRUCK I ASKED THEM TO CHECK ON A GRINDING/WHINING NOISE FROM THE AREA OF THE BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP ON THE ENGINE. THEY SAID IN FACT IT WAS THE BRAKE VACUUM BOOSTER PUMP, THAT IT SHOULD BE FIXED OR I COULD EXPERIENCE A SUDDEN LOSS OF BRAKING POWER. THEY FURTHER EXPLAINED IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT THAT EXPIRED A YEAR AGO AND WOULD NOW COST ME SOME $440. AM WONDERING IF OTHER FOLKS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS. I'VE READ OF IT HAPPENING TO OTHERS ON CERTAIN INTERNET BLOG SITES. TO MY WAY OF THINKING THE BRAKES (AND I SUPPOSE LOSS OF ABS/TRACTION CONTROL) ARE AT LEAST AS IMPORTANT AS THE STEERING THAT WAS ENOUGH OF A PROBLEM TO ISSUE A RECALL. BTW THE TRUCK HAD 27,971 MILES ON IT WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED, HARDLY 'WARN OUT'.
THE STABILITYTRACK WILL FLASH ON AND MAKE THE STEERING WHEEL VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER OR WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL WILL JERK OUT OF MY HAND AND NOT LET ME MANEUVER THE WAY I WANT TO. AT THE SAME TIME THE TRUCK WILL BRIEFLY LOSE ALL POWER DISABLING EVERYTHING. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN PARKING LOTS AS WELL AS EVERYDAY CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING AND AT ALL SPEEDS FROM AS SLOW AS 5MPH TO AS FAST AS 70MPH. THERE HAS 2 TIMES AFTER THIS HAPPENS THAT I TURN THE TRUCK OFF TO TRY TO RESTART IT, THE TRUCK WILL BE COMPLETELY DEAD. NOT EVEN THE HAZARD LIGHTS WILL COME ON. THERE ARE OTHER TIMES WHERE I WILL LOSE ALL POWER TO MY RADIO AND DRIVER INFO CENTER AND IT STAYS BLACK UNTIL I RESTART THE TRUCK A FEW TIMES. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP NOW 4 SEPARATE TIMES NOW AND EVERY TIME THEY SAY ITS SOMETHING NEW. I HAVE PAID A LITTLE OVER $800 SO FAR AND IT IS STILL HAPPENING. I AM NOW WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM GM/CHEVY TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO, BUT LOOKING AT WHAT I HAVE ALREADY DEALT WITH IT I AM NOT OPTIMISTIC. I HAVE READ OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND I AM AFRAID THAT ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME THAT I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RECOVER MY STEERING AND I WILL GET IN AN ACCIDENT WITH MY FAMILY IN THE TRUCK.
POWER BRAKES FAIL AT LOW SPEED. PEDAL BECOMES HARD AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP.
VEHICLE HAS A DEFECTIVE RADIATOR CAUSING A COOLANT LEAK, AND ENGINE OIL TO ENTER THE COOLING SYSTEM. GENERAL MOTORS AS ISSUED A SPECIAL COVERAGE #15829 APPLYING TO THIS YEAR AND MODEL SILVERADO, BUT ONLY CERTAIN VIN'S APPLY FOR WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THIS ISSUE. COVERAGE SHOULD INCLUDE ALL VIN NUMBERS EQUIPPED WITH DEFECTIVE RADIATORS. DEALER NOW WANT'S $1,300.00 TO REPAIR WHAT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A KNOWN DEFECT ADDRESSED ONLY PARTIALLY BY SPECIAL COVERAGE.
TAKATA RECALL CONDENSER NEEDS REPLACING.
ON MARCH 1, 2018, I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 SILVERADO. WHEN I MADE A TURN MY POWER STEERING DID NOT WORK. MY VEHICLL HAS 51,000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP HAD PREVIOUSLY FIXED A RECALL ISSUE RELATED TO POWER STEERING, BUT INFORMED ME THAT THIS REPAIR WOULD COST $2500 AND WAS NOT COVERED. GM AGREED WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND OFFERED $1000 TOWARDS THE REPAIR.
I have a 21014 Chevy K1500 Silverado ([XXX]). In 2019 the vehicle started having issues: Steering system started “fighting” me. When at very low speeds (trying to navigate slow turns as in a parking lot or stopped and starting a turn) the steering system would go back the opposite direction so hard that it would almost pull a muscle in my arm, seemingly wanting to go back to top dead center. Other symptoms of the situation include hot temperatures (90+), Radio on, Air Cond. on, Low speed or stopped, voltage seems low. This had happened many many times to me, to the point that one; I could predict when it would happen, such as making a left turn across traffic at an intersection or parking lot, and two; I would not let anyone else drive the vehicle, because it was a safety issue. I have a video of the issue as I was backing into my garage. Could drive to the store and after a short period in the store attempt to start the vehicle, but the truck acted like it was dead. I would remove the positive cable from the battery for about 10 seconds and put it back and the truck would start. Symptoms of the situation: hot temperatures (90+). This happened several times. I took the truck to Hubler Chevrolet, who told me that a power cable from the battery was defective, but could not tell me what was wrong with it. I declined the work and took it to another mechanic that found that other similar issues have been solved by ensuring that the vehicle is properly grounded to the frame. This solved the issue. Now it is 2021 and I am now losing power steering at low speed turns (parking lot maneuvers, or backing up into my driveway). Temperatures are not a symptom of the issue as it is too late in the year and temps are not that high. The head lights are also blinking when applying the brakes. I WAS DRIVING AROUND THE BACK OF A SHOPPING PLAZA WHEN MY ENGINE STARTED TO MAKE A STALLING SOUND FOLLOWED BY MY BELTS SQUEALING. MY GAUGES LOOKED FINE AND THEN I LOOKED AT MY SIDE MIRROR TO SEE SMOKE TRAILING MY VEHICLE. I STOP AND OPEN MY HOOD TO SEE THE ENTIRE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FILLED WITH SMOKE. I COULDN'T SEE ANY DAMAGE AT THAT POINT TO PIN POINT THE PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND THE MECHANIC TOLD ME MY A.C. COMPRESSOR SEIZED UP DUE TO LACK OF OIL IN THE COMPRESSOR AND MY ENGINE BELT WAS DESTROYED (WHICH WAS THE CAUSE OF THE SMOKE). I DID NOTICE EVERY TIME I TURNED THE FAN ON IN MY VEHICLE THE A.C. LIGHT WOULD ALWAYS COME ON BY ITSELF ENGAGING THE COMPRESSOR FOR THE A.C. SYSTEM. THIS VEHICLE IS 3 YEARS OLD WITH 39450 MILES ON IT AND THIS INCIDENT SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. I HAD TO PAY THE DEALERSHIP ALMOST $1000 FOR THE REPAIR.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC STABILITRAC WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. ALSO, WHEN THE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, THE HEADLIGHTS FLASHED IN UNISON WITH THE INDICATOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURES WERE INTERMITTENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURES STARTED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V414000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RYAN CHEVROLET (1101 OLIVER RD, MONROE, LA 71201, (318) 387-2222) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE RESULTS WERE NOT PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
I HAD MY 3 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME AT THE TIME THAT I LOST CONTROL ON MY 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. I WAS TURNING AND THE WHEEL BEGAN TO TURN ON ITS OWN AND WAS HARD TO CONTROL. THE INTERNAL COMPUTER KEPT SWITCHING ON AND OFF AS IF IT HAD A MIND OF ITS OWN. I WAS INCHES AWAY FROM HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE AND BEING AT FAULT OF AN ACCIDENT, NOT TO MENTION THE DANGER MY DAUGHTER WAS IN. I WAS ABLE TO AVOID IMPACT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE BUT I HIT A SIDEWALK DAMAGING THE BOTTOM LEFT SIDE ON MY BUMPER. I WILL NEVER AGAIN MAKE ANOTHER CHEVROLET PURCHASE, AND PUT MY DAUGHTERS LIFE IN DANGER.
AC CONDENSER FAILURE CAUSING REFRIGERANT TO LEAK. AC SYSTEM DOES NOT BLOW COLD/DRY AIR TO DEFROST WINDSHIELD ADEQUATELY IN INCLEMENT WEATHER. REFRIGERANT LEAK INTO GARAGE.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR BACK GLASS SHATTERED AS THE TRUCK WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. THE GLASS HAS REAR DEFROST HEAT WIRES IN IT AND APPARENTLY THERE IS A DEFECT IN THIS GLASS. OTHER REPORTS SAY THERE IS A SPALL IN THE GLASS AND IT IS HAPPENING QUITE FREQUENTLY.
VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING IT HAS DONE THIS 4 TIMES TO WHICH I LOSE ABILITY TO CONTROL STEERING AND I HAVE TO BRAKE AND TRY TO REACH SIDE OF STREET AS SOON POSSIBLE I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALER EVERY TIME AND THEY DO NOT GIVE ME A CAUSE OF WHY THIS IS HAPPENING NOR DO THEY FIX IT. TWO TIMES TONIGHT WITH TWO DIFFERENT VEHICLES IN TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. CURRENT GENERATION CHEVY SILVERADO "LOW" BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREME DANGER TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. WHEN BEING APPROACHED BY CURRENT (2014 & NEWER) SILVERADOS THE ONCOMING DRIVERS "DIMMED" THEIR LIGHTS RESULTING IN NO CHANGE TO THE BLINDING LIGHT APPROACHING ME. THE ONLY WAY I COULD TELL THAT THE DRIVERS "DIMMED" THEIR LIGHTS WAS THE CHANGE FROM 4 ONCOMING LIGHTS TO 2 ONCOMING LIGHTS, THE BLINDING INTENSITY REMAINED THE SAME. THIS MARKS THE UMPTEEN-THOUSANDTH TIME I HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY BLINDED BY CURRENT GENERATION SILVERADO "LOW" BEAM HEADLIGHTS. I MIGHT AS WELL DRIVE WITH MY EYES CLOSED BECAUSE I AM TOTALLY BLIND AFTER MEETING AN ONCOMING CURRENT GENERATION SILVERADO.
DURING A LATERAL MERGE PROCEDURE FROM A 30 DEGREE DECLINE TO A CITY STREET MOVING AT 16 MPH WITH MINIMAL LATERAL ACCELERATION THE ROLLOVER SENSOR SHOWED A 68 DEGREE SPIKE WITHIN 210 MILLISECONDS ENGAGING THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS AND SEAT BELT LOCKS. GIVING THE DRIVER A CONCUSSION. GM HAS DECLARED NORMAL SYSTEM OPERATION.
MY BRAKE ASSIST LIGHT KEPT COMING ON, AND WHEN I WOULD BE GOING AT A LOW SPEED AND APPLYING THE BRAKE, THE BRAKE PEDDLE WOULD GET VERY HARD AND STIFF. I WOULD HAVE TO APPLY ALL POSSIBLE WEIGHT I CAN IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. I WAS INFORMED TODAY THAT A VACUUM PUMP IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE, AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THIS IS BECOMING A COMMON PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE SEEING. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, AS I COULD HAVE EASILY HIT SOMEBODY, OR BEEN UNABLE TO STOP WHEN BACKING INTO MY GARAGE. IF IT HAD BEEN MY WIFE DRIVING, I DON'T KNOW IF SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET IT STOPPED WITH HOW HARD I WAS HAVING TO PRESS THE BRAKES REPEATEDLY. THIS HAPPENED WHILE IN A PARKING LOT IN MOTION, AND ALSO WHILE BACKING INTO MY GARAGE
RADIATOR RECALL 15829 REF#N15170099 HAD TO HAVE MY RADIATOR REPLACED DUE TO A MFG DEFECT . GM ADVISED ME THAT MY VIN# NOT IN THE RECALL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT WOULD NOT PRODUCE COLD AIR. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. WALT MASSEY CHEVROLET BUICK (1221 OLD 63 SOUTH, LUCEDALE, MS) DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR CONDENSER HAD A CRACK AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,493.

CONSTANT VIBRATION THREW OUT THE CABIN OF THE TRUCK AT SPEEDS OF 65+. I HAVE HAD 5 SETS OF TIRES AND THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED EVEN WITH TIRES THEY SAY WILL FIX THE ISSUE, MICHELIN TIRES. IT IS SAID THE ITS A FRAME ISSUE AND THAT I HAVE TO CONTINUE TO BRING IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THE TIRES BALANCED EVERY TIME IT STARTS UP AGAIN. EVEN THEN IT STILL HAPPENS ON A MONTHLY BASIS. WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED QUICKLY, THE STEERING IS EXTREMELY STIFF, THE HEADLIGHTS DIM, AND THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. THIS IS LIFE THREATENING WHEN MAKING A TURN ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANES. WE TOOK THE TRUCK TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP FOR THE RECALL # 17276 FOR LOW VOLTAGE STEERING. THEY REPROGRAMMED THE STEERING SYSTEM. THIS DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 ADDITIONAL TIMES NOW FOR THIS ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS OPENED A CASE WITH GM, AND GM HAS RECOMMENDED MANY THINGS, ALL AT MY COST THAT HAVE NOT RESOLVED THE SAFETY PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT GM IS USING ME AS A CRASH TEST DUMMY. I HAVE A 2014 SILVERADO WITH 60K MILES. ON SUNDAY, I WAS PULLING INTO THE GARAGE AFTER A SHORT ERRAND AND I LOST MOST OF THE BRAKING POWER. SEARCHING ONLINE I FOUND A BULLETIN IN SOME RARE SITUATIONS, A CUSTOMER MAY COMMENT ON A HARD BRAKE PEDAL OR THAT INCREASED EFFORT IS NEEDED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHILE PERFORMING NORMAL DIAGNOSTICS, FLUID MAY BE FOUND IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND/OR THE BOOSTER VACUUM LINE. IF ENGINE OIL IS FOUND, IT IS IMPORTANT THE FOLLOWING PARTS ARE REPLACED. OTHER SYMPTOMS HAVE BEEN WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, GENERALLY ON A LONGER TRIP, WARNINGS ABOUT STABILTRACK NEEDING SERVICE COME ON, MY LANE DEPARTURE SENSOR WILL AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH FROM VIBRATE TO AUDIBLE BEEP, DIMMING MY HEADLIGHTS OR TURNING MY TURN SIGNAL ON WILL CANCEL CRUISE CONTROL. I HAD THE RECALL FOR SOFTWARE FIX FOR POWER STEERING ISSUES APPLIED IN SEPTEMBER 2017 WHERE PREVIOUSLY I EXPERIENCED NONE OF THESE ISSUES. ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN AFTER THE RECALL SOFTWARE FIX WAS APPLIED. THE DEALER SAYS IT'S DUE TO A FILM THAT BUILDS UP ON THE BATTERY CABLE CONNECTION AND CAUSES IT TO NOT HAVE A GOOD CONNECTION WITH THE BATTERY. APPARENTLY THERE IS A BULLETIN OUT FOR THIS ISSUE BUT IT ISN'T A RECALL SO DEALERS ARE CHARGING AROUND $700 TO FIX THIS. HAVING YOUR TRUCK TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING IS A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE AND ONE THAT IS MUCH WORSE THAN THE RECALL FOR HAVING YOUR POWER STEERING GO OUT WHEN TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS.
