2014 MODEL YEAR CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 AND GMC SIERRA 1500 VEHICLES, EQUIPPED WITH E85 FLEX FUEL CAPABILITY (FHS), THE FLEXIBLE FUEL SENSOR MAY BECOME INOPERATIVE DURING NORMAL OPERATION DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE CAUSED BY ROAD SALT AND OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL CONTAMINANTS. WITH A FAULTY FLEX FUEL SENSOR, THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE AND REMOTE START WILL BE INOPERATIVE.
MY 2014 SILVERADO HIGH COUNTRY HAS A 8 CYLINDER 6.2 ENGINE. AFTER COMING TO A STOP OFTEN THERE IS STEAM COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE RUNS HIGH AND THERE IS THE SMELL OF COOLANT LEAKING. I WAS TOLD BY THE CHEVY DEALER THIS IS CAUSED BY UNDER SPRAY? IT HAPPENS ON DRY DAYS, RAINY DAYS AND LAVING A CAR WASH BAY. I'VE BEEN ADVISED IT IS A HAIRLINE CRACK IN THE RADIATOR AND GM KNOWS THEY'VE HAD PROBLEMS.
THE RELAY IN THE ENGINE SHUT THE POWER DOWN TO THE ENGINE. I AM REPORTING THIS BECAUSE IT ONLY HAPPENS IN EXTREMELY COLD WEATHER. IN MY CASE IT HAPPENED IN -32 DEGREE WINDCHILL, WHICH STRANDED ME FOR AN HOUR. IN TALKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND DOING RESEARCH ONLINE IT SEEMS AS THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM.THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AFTER I HAD STOPPED AND STARTED AFTER MANY TRIES. THE REASON I AM REPORTING THIS IS BECAUSE I WOULD HATE TO SEE SOMEONE ELSE HAVE A PROBLEM IN EXTREME COLD WEATHER AND IT TURN INTO A TRAGEDY FOR A FAMILY. NOTICED COOLANT STEAM WEEPING OUT OF THE FRONT GRILL. ORIGIN OF LEAK IS RADIATOR. THERE IS A SPECIAL COVERAGE FROM GM FOR THIS ISSUE, 15829. I WAS TOLD BY MY DEALER AS WELL AS GM THAT MY VIN IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE SPECIAL COVERAGE. MY TRUCK YEAR/MAKE/MODEL IS CLEARLY DESCRIBED IN THE SPECIAL COVERAGE BULLETIN AS A VIABLE CANDIDATE FOR THIS ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO THE AC UNIT BEGAN BLOWING WARM AIR. I AM NOW FORCED TO DRIVE MYSELF AND MY INFANT SON WHILE BEING EXPOSED TO POTENTIALLY LETHAL TEMPERATURES INSIDE THE CAR. EVERY TIME I REMOVE MY SON FROM HIS CAR SEAT HE IS SWEATING. IN ADDITION, IF IT IS RAINING OUTSIDE MY WINDOWS BECOME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT OF SINCE THE DEFROSTER IS LINKED TO A PROPERLY WORKING AC UNIT. GM KNOWS ABOUT THIS SYSTEMIC ISSUE IN ALL SIMILAR VEHICLES AND HAS REFUSED TO RECTIFY THE HAZARD OR MITIGATE THE HEAT EXPOSURE TO MY CHILD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EPS FAILED TO FUNCTION AND THE EPS WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER (BELL AND BELL BUICK GMC TRUCKS, 2491 HWY 9 E, LITTLE RIVER, SC 29566, (888) 538-9417) WHO PROVIDED THE MANUFACTURER REMEDY FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V414000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE REMEDY FAILED TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION CONCERNING THE EPS SOFTWARE UPDATE (REPROGRAMMING). THE DEALER LATER STATED THAT THE EPS MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN INDICATING THAT THE PART NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS A STEERING RECALL FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V719000 (STEERING), BUT THEY HAD NOT ADDRESSED THE RECALL FOR THE 2014 MODELS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO MY DRIVEWAY ON A CITY STREET GOING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, MY STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY JERKED TO THE LEFT OUT OF MY HAND, AND THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WENT DEAD (LOST ALL POWER, LIGHTS, ETC.). BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED, I WAS UNABLE TO TURN FULLY INTO MY DRIVEWAY. AS A RESULT, THE BED OF THE TRUCK WAS STICKING OUT INTO A MAJOR ROAD AND I WAS ALMOST HIT BY CARS COMING AROUND THE CURVE BY MY DRIVEWAY. IT WAS DARK AND RAINY. I CALLED SOMEONE FOR HELP AND WE PUSHED THE TRUCK OUT OF THE ROADWAY AS BEST AS POSSIBLE, CONSIDERING THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS STILL LOCKED. THE TRUCK WOULD NOT RESTART. ALL POWER WAS GONE. THE ONLY WAY I COULD THINK TO MOVE THE TRUCK WAS TO JUMP START IT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. AFTER JUMPSTARTING THE TRUCK, THE DASH INFO SYSTEM DISPLAYED, "ACTION REQUIRED: OPEN THEN CLOSE DRIVER WINDOW." THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS HAPPENED AFTER CHEVY DEALERSHIP PERFORMED RECALL 17276 "TEMPORARY LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING (EPS) SERVICE (DURING LOW SPEED STEERING MANEUVERS). THERE IS A TSB OUT ALLUDING TO THIS ISSUE: #PIT5405C: STEERING JERKS OR KICKS BACK / REDUCED POWER STEERING ASSIST / ENGINE STALL, ETC. (JAN 27, 2017) . WHY IS THERE NO RECALL??? THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY!
POWER STEERING FAILS DURING A TURN ALONG WITH THE ENGINE STALLING AND ALL ELECTRICAL POWER BEING SHUT DOWN. STEERING BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS. IT IS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE. BUT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS. A GOOGLE SEARCH YIELDS MANY, MANY SIMILAR REPORTS. WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED? IT IS DEC 2017 AND MANY OF THESE DANGEROUS VEHICLES ARE STILL NOT FIXED BY GM.
THE MYLINK AND RADIO KEEPS GOING OUT EEAN AFTER BEING REPLACED. THE DASHBOARD FUNCIONS ACT ERRATICALLY WITH BLINKING AND THEN RESETS THE STATISTICS. WHEN THE HORN IS KONKED THE MYLINK AND RADIO GO DEAD. THE DANGEROUS PART ID THE DASH FUNCTIONS ACTING ERRATICALLY. HOPE IT DOES NOT STALL ON MY ON THE HIGHWAY INFRONT OF A SEMIT TRUCK OR SOMETHING.
AT 41,000 MILES THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR AND HOSES HAD TO BE REPLACED. AND WHEN HEADLAMPS ARE ON AND I HIT THE BRAKES OR TURN SIGNALS THE DOME LIGHT FLASHES.
AT LOW SPEEDS IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS EXTREMELY HARD WITH MAYBE A 1/4" OF TRAVEL. THE TRUCK BARELY STOPPED HAD TO USE THE E-BRAKE TO ASSIST THE VEHICAL TO STOP. MADE IT OVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE FREEWAY. TURNED THE VEHICAL OFF. GOT OUT CHECKED THE BRAKES VISUALLY. EVERYTHING SEEMED OK. I STARTED THE VEHICAL UP AND WITH CAUTION TRIED MOVING THE VEHICAL AND EVERY THING WAS BACK TO NORMAL. THREE WEEKS LATER IT DID THE SAME THING PARKING ALONG THE CURB IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE.
AC UNIT HAS GONE OUT TWICE NOW WITHIN 70K MILES AND I DRIVE A LOT IN TEXAS HEAT DRESSED PROFESSIONALLY AND HAVE 3 CHILDREN. I HAVE OWNED SILVERADOS SINCE I WAS 18 AND AM NOW 46 AND HAVE NEVER ONCE HAD AN AC PROBLEM. AFTER READING A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON MULTIPLE FORUMS I OVER LAST FEW YEARS I WOULD THINK THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN RESOLVED AS A RECALL ISSUE ALREADY
TRUCK SHAKES/VIBRATES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ABOVE 65 MPH VERY BADLY SLIGHT VIBRATION AT LOWER SPEEDS ALSO KNOW AS THE CHEVY SHAKE
WHEN APPLYING BRAKE WITH MOTOR AT IDLE OR CLOSE TO IT. THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL GET HARD. I CHECKED VACUUM FROM THE SEPARATE VACUUM PUMP AND ONLY HAD 9 IN HG. IT WILL BUILD AND STORE SOME VACUUM BUT WILL ALSO FADE AS IT IDLES. I REPLACED THE PUMP AND I NOW HAVE 26 IN HG AND WHEN PARKING OR DOING SHORT MANEUVERS ALL IS GOOD. I HAVE REPLACED THE PUMP AT A PRICE OF $135 AND DID THE WORK MYSELF.
POWER STEERING GOES OFF AND WARNING LIGHT COMES ON THAT SAYS SERVICE POWER STEERING. THIS HAPPENS INTERMEDTIALY WITHOUT WARNING. I CAN STOP TURN OFF THE TRUCK AND IT WILL SOMETIMES COME ON AND WORK FOR A SHORT TIME.
MY BRAKE PEDAL JUST GOT HARD. IT TOOK WAS ALL I COULD DO TO STOP MY TRUCK,THANK GOODNESS I WAS IN A 35 MPH ZONE AND NOT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I WAS ON VAC AND WENT TO LOCAL DEALER TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED. MY BRAKE VACUUM PUMP FAILED & IT COST ME $504.00 TO REPAIR
THE RADIO RANDOMLY CHANGES STATIONS ON ITS OWN AND THE TOUCH SCREEN DOESNOT WORK AT RANDOM TIMES. THE FRONT DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDE WINDOWS GO UP AND DOWN AUTOMATICALLY AND CANNOT BE STOPPED; WHEN THE WINDOW SWITCH IS DEPRESSED UP OR DOWN, THE WINDOW WILL MAKE ONE COMPLETE CYCLE OF OPENING AND CLOSING BEFORE STOPPING IN THE DIRECTED POSITION. BOTH THESE ACTIONS OCCUR RANDOMLY AND UNSUSPECTINGLY.
AS I WAS DRIVING IN THE EXPRESSWAY WAY THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME STEARING WHEEL GOT HARD. IN OTHER ACCASIONS WHEN I WAS TURNING IN AN BUSY INTERSECTION TRUCK TURNED OFF COMPLETY AND IT TOOK ME ABOUT A MINUTE TO BE ABLE TO TURN VEHICLE BACK ON TOOK IT TO AUTOZONE AND TO CHECK BATTERY AND ALTENATOR AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE IT HAS DONE IT TO ME LIKE 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 2WEEKS
I ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AT A LOW SPEED AND WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ROCK HARD. THE TRUCK DID NOT WANT TO STOP AND TOOK A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF FORCE ON THE PEDAL TO GET THE TRUCK TO STOP.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE AIR CONDITIONER FAILED TO BLOW COLD AIR. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BRUCE WALTERS FORD-LINCOLN KIA (302 SOUTH MAYO, PIKEVILLE, KY 41501, (606) 444-2200) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONDENSER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
MANY TIMES THE BRAKE PEDAL IS HARD WHEN DEPRESSED AND STOPPING IS VERY SLOW. MOST TIMES IT HAS HAPPENED AT LOW SPEED WHEN APPROACHING STOP LIGHTS OR PARKING. ONE TIME WAS AT OVER 65MPH. HAVE BEEN TO 2 DEALERS AND NEITHER CAN GET THE ISSUE TO REPEAT OR GET A CODE TO DIAGNOSE. PROBLEM HAPPENED FIRST AT 40K MILES AND CONTINUES NOW AT 60K MILES.
"TAKATA RECALL" DRIVING ON N LOOP 820. VEHICLE DRIVING AHEAD OF ME BEGAN TO SWERVE, AND I AVOIDED THE CAR. ROADS WERE MODERATELY WET--I WAS TRAVELLING AROUND 40 MPH DUE TO POSSIBLE ICE ON OVERPASS. I WAS IN EXTREME LEFT LANE, BEGAN TO SLIDE AND TURNED INTO THE DIRECTION I SKIDDED AND MADE CONTACT WITH CENTER MEDIAN OF HIGHWAY. NEXT EXIT WAS CAMPUS DRIVE. THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SENSOR WAS ILLUMINATED. I CALLED 911 AND POLICE VEHICLE ARRIVED AN HOUR LATER. THE TRUCK WAS IN THE MOST EXTREME LEFT HAND LANE BLOCKING DRIVERS BEHIND ME. THE SENSOR REMAINED ON, BUT THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. WAS TOWED TO BRUCE LOWRIE CHEVROLET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED AN INTERMITTENT LOSS OF STEERING. ONCE THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE POWER STEERING WOULD QUICKLY RETURN TO NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO QUIRK CHEVROLET IN BRAINTREE MA. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V246000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,600.
NOTICED AN ISSUE AT ABOUT 70000 MILES WHERE TURNING LEFT AT LOW SPEEDS UNDER 10 MPH THERE IS A SOUND CLUNK IN THE STEERING. IT IS EASILY REPUTABLE AND HAPPENS OFTEN REGARDLESS OF DIRECTION, REVERSE OR FORWARD DRIVE. THE DEALER SAID IT IS A FAILURE OF THE STEERING RACK, AND IT NEEDS REPLACED. $1800 FOR THE PART AND $3 HOURS OF INSTALL BRINGS THE REPAIR TO $2400 FOR A 3 YEAR OLD TRUCK. I NOTICED MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME DESCRIPTION. DEALER STATES THAT THE RACK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND WOULDN'T RECOMMEND DRIVING IT UNTIL REPAIRED. I ASKED WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF IT FAILED COMPLETELY AND IF THIS WAS RELATED TO ANY OTHER RECALLS. THEY SAID COMPLETE STEERING LOSS AND THEY WOULD NOT SPECULATE ON RECALLS ASSOCIATED TO THIS FAILURE

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RAY SKILLMAN CHEVROLET (3891 SOUTH POST RD, INDIANAPOLIS, ID) WHERE AN UNKNOWN PART WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
TAKATA RECALL
DRIVING 70 MILES AN HOUR ON THE TOLL ROAD IN A BOOSTER PUMP WENT OUT AND NO BREAKS HAD TO STOP MANUALLY FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME I REPLACING THE BOOSTER PUMP THE DEALER WILL NOT RESPOND THERE ADVICE WAS FOR ME TO BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. 40,000 MILES ON THE TRUCK I BOUGHT IT IN 2015 DECEMBER A DEMO AT 5000 MILES ON IT AND IT NOW HAS 40,000 MILES .THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM MY USES THE TRUCK TO COMMUTE TOO WORK DAILY HAD SHE BEEN DRIVING SHE WOULD HAVE WRECKED THE TRUCK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE TURNING THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE CONTACT STRUCK A CURB. THE CONTACT HAD TO EXERT FORCE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WILLIAM L MORRIS CHEVROLET (1024 W VENTURA ST, FILLMORE, CA 93015) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED TWO WEEKS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,622.
TAKATA RECALL - JUST RECEIVED A LETTER SAYING TAKATA FILED FOR BACKRUPCY TO CONTACT MY DEALER. THEY SAID NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE
WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY A STABILITRACK WARNING APPEARED ON THE DASH STATING IT MIGHT AFFECT POWER STEERING ASSIST. THIS CAME ON SEVERAL TIMES. THEN WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AND SIGNALING A LANE CHANGE THE CRUISE WAS CANCELLED. THIS ALSO OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES. IT ALSO APPEARED THAT THE DASH LIGHTS FLICKERED ,BUT I WASN'T SURE BECAUSE OF THE SUNLIGHT . LATER THAT EVENING I WAS MAKING A TURN ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE DASH LIGHTS WENT COMPLETELY OUT AND I HAD NO POWER STEERING. THIS LASTED ABOUT 2 SECONDS BEFORE EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON. AFTER THAT EPISODE IT HASN'T HAPPENED SINCE. AFTER READING OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS I AM CONCERNED IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN AND COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. IT SEEMS THAT WHEN THE CRUISE WAS CANCELLED WHEN SIGNALING THE LANE CHANGE, THAT IF I PUSHED UP OR DOWN ON THE TURN SIGNAL LEVER AT THE END OF THE LEVER IT WOULD CANCEL THE CRUISE CONTROL. I TRIED PUSHING DOWN ON THE LEVER CLOSER TO THE STEERING COLUMN AND THAT DIDN'T CANCEL OUT THE CRUISE CONTROL. I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS JUST A COINCIDENCE OR IT JUST WASN'T MALFUNCTIONING AT THE TIME.
I FILED A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT, #11044339, BUT FORGOT TO ADD SOMETHING. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON SEPT. 22,2017 FOR THE POWER STEERING RECALL ,#17276. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS RELATED TO THE PROBLEM , BUT THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE SOME GOOD INFORMATION TO DIVULGE.
THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE A/C CONDENSER. COOLANT WAS LEAKING FROM A HOLE IN THE CONDENSER AND THE A/C NO LONGER WORKED. THE TRUCK WAS VERY HOT TO DRIVE IN. THE REPAIR WAS VERY EXPENSIVE $800. THIS LEAK WAS NOT A RESULT OF ANY BODY DAMAGE OR CRASH.
BRAKE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY
FAILED REAR SEAT LATCH - SEAT STICKS IN UPWARD POSITION; SAFE VEHICLE OCCUPANCY NOT POSSIBLE.
TRUCK DASH WILL FLICKER AND CAUSE STABLETRAK TO DISABLE, AND THEN STEERING ASSIST SAYS LIMITED. RADIO WILL CHANGE STATIONS WHEN THIS HAPPENS, AND THE STEERING WHEEL WILL LOCK UP AND IS UNABLE TO BE TURNED. HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE WE'RE ON THE HIGHWAY. IT'S WHEN WE'RE IN MOTION, HAS HAPPENED WHILE TRYING TO PARK, GOING ON A BACK ROAD, AND ON THE HIGHWAY. WHILE IN PARK, WE CAN HEAR OCCASIONAL CLICKING COMING FROM INSIDE THE DASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 8-3961924795. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.

IT STARTED WITH THE "ANTI-THEFT DETTERENT" SYSTEM ACTING UP AND NOT ALLOWING ME TO START THE CAR. AFTER FLIPPING THE KEY A FEW TIMES, IT WENT AWAY. THEN THE PROBLEM PROGRESSED TO WHEN TURNING THE KEY IT WAS IF THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. EVERYTHING WOULD GO BLACK (LIGHTS, INFO CENTER, DIC, ETC). AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF SITTING, I COULD TURN THE KEY AND IT WOULD START UP NO PROBLEMS. THEN IT ALL JUST WENT AWAY FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. THEN JUST A FEW DAYS AGO, I WAS TURNING INTO A SHOPPING CENTER AND THE TRUCK JUST DIED. THE DASH, THE LIGHTS, THE ENGINE, EVERYTHING. I NEARLY TOOK OUT THE ENTRANCE SIGN OF THE PARKING LOT. HANGING WITH MY BACK END IN TRAFFIC I QUICKLY POPPED IT NEUTRAL, RESTARTED THE TRUCK, AND PULLED IN. I COULDN'T RECREATE THE PROBLEM. I DROVE TO AUTOZONE AND HAD THEM CHECK THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR. EVERYTHING WAS FINE. ABOUT AN HOUR LATER, IN THE DRIVE THRU AT CHICK FIL A, I PLACED THE CAR IN PARK, RECEIVED MY FOOD, AND AS SOON AS I SHIFTED OUT OF PARK THE TRUCK DIED AGAIN, ALONG WITH THE DASH AND EVERYTHING ELSE. RESTARTED AND DROVE HOME. I SPENT ABOUT 30 MINS DRIVING AROUND THE BLOCK AND SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY TRYING TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE YET TO RECREATE.
PER ATTACHED WORK ORDERS, MY BRAKES WERE GOING TO THE FLOOR IN REVERSE ONLY. THEY REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER AND SAID ALL FIXED. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER HAPPENED AGAIN SO NOW REPLACED VACUUM & BOOSTER PUMP. THAT WAS 2 WEEKS AGO. STILL WORKING AND FILED COMPLAINT WITH GM BUT THEY SAID NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THESE HAVE NO MOVING OR MECHANICAL PARTS AND SHOULD PROBABLY NEVER WEAR OUT. PRIOR TO ALL THIS I WAS GETTING A REPORT TO SERVICE ELECTRONIC TRAILER BRAKES BUT HAD NOT HOOKED UP A TRAILER? WHEN FIRST POINTED THIS OUT THEY SAID COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. SECOND TIME THEY REPLACED ELECTRONIC SWITCH AS "BAD". PERSONALLY I FEEL IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ALL THE PARTS REPLACED AND FEEL STRONGLY THAT THIS IS ELECTRONIC AND RELATED TO THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM ELECTRONICS OR MOTHER BOARD. VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE MOVING SLOWLY. DAMAGED REAR BUMPER LAST FAIL DUE TO UNABLE TO STOP VEHICLE. IF SOMEONE WAS BEHIND ME DIRECTING ME THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THEY COULD HAVE BEEN CRUSHED OR INJURED SERIOUSLY. I FEEL THIS IS A RECALL WAITING TO HAPPEN.
ABOUT A COUPLE MONTHS AGO I STARTED NOTICING PAINT PEELING OFF ON THE LOWER HALF OF THE DOORS, DRIVER AND PASSENGER OF ALL DOORS AND ALSO ON THE SIDES OF THE BOX. MY TRUCK IS 3 YEARS OLD WITH 59,000 MILES NOW. I WENT TO THE DEALER TODAY AND THEY SAID I SHOULD CONTACT CHEVROLET DIRECTLY. THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER CHEVROLET TRUCKS THE SAME YEAR AND EVEN NEWER TRUCKS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE HAD MUD FLAPS INSTALLED SINCE THE TRUCK WAS NEW( THE DEALER BLAMED IT ON ROCK CHIPS WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT THE TRUCK). I HAD TO START COMPLAINING SOMEWHERE RIGHT!!

THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
WHILE IN MOTION AND TURNING THE TRUCK LOSES POWER AND STEERING AND SAYS STABILITRACK NEEDS SERVICE THEN THE TRUCK LOST ALL POWER AND COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. HAD THE TRUCK JUMPED AND WHILE DRIVING THE AC WENT OUT AND THE STABILITRACK WARNING CAME ON AND THE STEERING BECAME JERKY AND DIFFICULT. ONCE PARKED AND SHUT OFF THE TRUCK WILL AGAIN NOT START.
THE TIRES TO MY 2014 SILVERADO WAS ALWAYS SLIPPING ON HILLS SO I FINALLY WENT TO THE TIRE STORE AND WAS TOLD MY BELTS WEAR COMING OFF. METAL EVERYWHERE, I HAVE 52,000 MILES ON IT AND THE TIRES ARE GONE ALREADY, THEY HAD TO BE VERY CHEAP TIRES.
I WAS IN A PARKING LOT TURNING INTO A HORIZONTAL PARKING SPOT MOVING LESS THAN 5 MPH. DURING THE TURN THE STEERING WHEEL BROKE LOOSE SPINNING 360 DEGREES, THE WHEELS STAYED AT ROUGHLY A 45 DEGREE ANGLE WITH THE TURN I WAS MAKING, & THE TRUCK STALLED. WHEN I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THAT THERE ARE PLASTIC/NYLON SCREWS THAT HAD BROKEN THAT CAUSED THE ISSUE. WHILE THERE IS NO RECALL YET, I BELIEVE IT'S SOMETHING TO LOOK AT.
I BOUGHT MY 2014 SILVERADO NEW . AFTER 10,000 MILES I COULD HEAR SOMETHING IN THE DRIVETRAIN BETWEEN 2ND AND 3 RD GEAR MAKE A MOANING SOUND . BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING . THIS WENT ON UNTIL 141,000 MILES AND THE TRANSMISSION CAME OUT . HAD IT REBUILT FOR $ 3,700.00 AND WAS TOLD THE TORQUE CONVERTER CAUSED THE PROBLEM . NOW I'M AT 181,000 AND WE ARE HOPING IT'S THE TCM INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION BUT IF NOT WHO KNOWS WHAT THIS WILL COST . I THINK GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DEFECTIVE TORQUE CONVERTERS AS I HAVE READ MORE CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM . IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE SOME KIND OF REIMBURSEMENT . I LOVE MY TRUCK AND HAVE OWNED NOTHING BUT GM VEHICLES BUT THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TWICE .
LOSS OF STEERING AND POWER DEALERSHIP HAS PERFORMED RECALL 17276 REPROGRAMING POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE TWICE AND THIS HAS NOT FIXED PROBLEM.

THE AC STARTED BLOWING OUT HOT AIR WHEN I WAS DRIVING BACK HOME. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AND IT CAME BACK THAT I HAD A BROKEN CONDENSER HOSE AND IT LEAKED OUT ALL THE COOLANT. ACCORDING TO GM THERE WELL AWARE WITH THE 2014 MODELS DOING THIS. THAT THERE'S A DEFECT IN THE HOSE,DON'T SEE WHY OWNERS OF THESE VEICHLES SHOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET.
