PURCHASED A NEW 2014 OFF THE LOT WITH 7 MILES AND WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WITH THIS TRUCK. FROM AIR BAG SENSORS GOING OUT AND THE DEALER REFUSING TO COVER THIS TO THE SEAT BEING REPLACED. THE REAR WENT OUT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE AC HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE. BOTH TIMES CALLED CHEVY ASKING FOR HELP AND WAS DENIED ASSISTANCE. SEATBELT ISSUES. COMPUTER SCREEN ISSUES. TIRE SENOR ISSUES RATTLING IN THE DASHBOARD. I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER CHEVROLET PRODUCT AGAIN. THIS IS THE PRIMARY VEHICLE MY HUSBAND DRIVES TO WORK AND BACK HOME. THIS TRUCK IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD AND WE HAVE ACTUALLY THINK WE HAVE A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND CHEVY DOESN'T SEEM TO WANNA HELP US. I HATE TO WRITE THE MONTHLY NOTE OUT EACH MONTH PAYING FOR SOMETHING THAT'S ALWAYS BREAKING DOWN. I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER CHEVROLET PRODUCT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. GM MANUFACTURER IS TAKING TOO LONG TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR COME UP WITH A REMEDY FOR GM RECALL #: N172085440. THE DATE ISSUED WAS JUNE, 29TH 2017.
PLEASE SEE ATTACHED DOCUMENTS ON HOW TO FIX THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH GM RECALL #: N172085440. I HAVE ATTACHED AN ELECTRICAL SCHEMATIC SHOWING THE LOCATION OF THE G218 GROUND WHICH IS CAUSING THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS RECALL. I ALSO ATTACHED A GROUND LOCATION VIEW SHOWING THE LOCATION OF THE G218 GROUND STUD INSIDE THE TRUCK. WHEN THE TRUCK CAME STRAIGHT FROM THE MANUFACTURER, THIS G218 GROUND STUD WAS SURROUNDED BY SOUND DEADENING MATERIAL WHICH IS CAUSING THE SHORT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND CAUSING STEERING ISSUES.
BUBBLES IN THE SIDE WALL OF TWO TIRES. GOODYEAR FUEL MAX ASSURANCE. P265/65R18. I NOTICED THIS ISSUE WHILE THE TRUCK WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY.
THE AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSERS ARE KNOWN TO BE DEFECTIVE BY GM AND SEVERAL LOCAL DEALERSHIPS AS WELL AS LOCAL MECHANICS WHO ARE CONSTANTLY REPLACING THESE ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE 5.3L V8. THIS APPLIES TO ALL GM VEHICLES WITH THIS MOTOR. OWNERS ARE UNABLE TO GET THIS FIXED AS OEM PARTS ARE ON NATIONAL BACK-ORDER WITH NO ETA. THE BACK-ORDER IS DUE TO GM HAVING TO RE-MANUFACTURE THE ENTIRE INVENTORY WHILE OVERWHELMING DEMAND FOR THESE REPLACEMENT CONDENSERS GROWS. THIS IS A $1,100 REPAIR INCLUDING PARTS AND LABOR THAT SHOULD NOT BE THE BURDEN OF THE CONSUMER AS GM HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THIS IS DUE TO A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. IN THE MEANWHILE WE HAVE TO DRIVE WITH OUR WINDOWS DOWN WHICH EXPOSES US TO EXHAUST FUMES OF OTHER VEHICLES AND DEBRIS BEING FREE TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. NOTHING PROVOKED THIS FAILED CONDENSER AS I WAS SIMPLY DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AT A NORMAL SPEED AND MY AIR CONDITIONER QUICKLY BECAME WARMER AS THE REFRIGERANT LEAKED OUT.
KNOWN GM ISSUE WITH A/C CONDENSER. NATIONAL BACK ORDERED PART...NEARLY EVERY 2014 SILVERADO HAS HAS THIS ISSUE, OR IS GOING TO. ALSO KNOWN ISSUE WITH RADIATOR CRACKING ISSUE....NEARLY ALL 2014'S WILL HAVE THIS ISSUE IF NOT ALREADY. BOTH MY CONDENSER AND RADIATOR HAS TO BE REPLACED. GM MUST FIX THESE KNOWN ISSUES
PER DEALERSHIP THE UPPER AC HOSE THAT HOOKS TO THE CONDENSER WILL CRACK DUE TO NEEDING A BRACKET THAT WAS NOT INSTALLED AT ALL. THE COST FOR ME TO REPAIR IS 1200 TO 1500 BIT WHY WHEN THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE WILL CHEVROLET NOT FIX IT. PLEASE RESPOND THE A.C. WORKED FINE ONE DAY AND THEN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THE NEXT DAY. I HAVE 38,000 MILES ON MY TRUCK AND THE AC IS NOW BLOWING WARM AIR. APPARENTLY, THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL, YET NO RECALL!!!!
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON
2014 CHEVY SILVERADO LT WITH 27,000 MILES. NOTICED COOLANT SMELL NEAR FRONT OF TRUCK AFTER DRIVING IT. I LOOKED ON LINE AND FOUND SEVERAL SOURCES COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH COOLANT LEAK. I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK COOLANT LEAK. THEY FOUND OUT THE RADIATOR WAS CRACKED AND TOLD ME GM HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE THERMOSTAT OVERCYCLING CAUSING THE RADIATOR TO DEVELOP STRESS CRACKS AND LEAK COOLANT. MY TRUCK HOWEVER WAS PASS THE 36 MONTH BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND MY TRUCK DOESN'T FALL UNDER THEIR SPECIAL COVERAGE BULLETIN 15829 TO FIX THIS ISSUE FOR 5 YEARS OR 100,000 MILES. QUOTED AROUND $900 TO $1,000 TO REPLACE THERMOSTAT WITH A NEW VERSION THAT WILL NOT STRESS CRACK THE RADIATOR AND NEW RADIATOR (SAME PART AS ORIGINAL) IS PUT IN THE TRUCK. SO IF GM KNOWS THEY HAVE A PROBLEM BUT WILL ONLY FIX CERTAIN VEHICLES THAT HAVE THE SAME FAULTY THERMOSTAT. HOW IS THIS RIGHT?
STEERING ASSIST ERROR, SERVICE STABILITRAC ERROR,- STEERING WHEEL JERKED OUT OF HAND WHILE TURNING , LOSS OF STEERING. ELECTRICAL LOSS- ALL GAUGES AND LIGHTING BLANK WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY
FAULTY AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSER. THE GM REPLACEMENT PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND WILL TAKE 12+ WEEKS TO GET. THIS INDICATES THAT MANY SILVERADO OWNERS ARE HAVING TO REPLACE THE SAME PART AND GM SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL.
WHEN TURNING THERE IS A LOUD POPPING NOISE THIN THE STEERING. I WAS TOLD BY MY DEALER IT WAS $1900 TO FIX AND CHEVY WOULD NOT HELP ME. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED.
AFTER RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET I AM ABLE TO SEE STRONG SIMILARITIES IN WHAT EVERYONE IS CALLING THE G218 GROUND ISSUE. MY VEHICLE'S POWER ASSISTED STEERING WILL GO OUT IN A SLOW TURN. THIS ALMOST RESULTED IN A FIRE HYDRANT COLLISION LAST NIGHT. THE VEHICLES COMPUTER SAYS TO SERVICE THE STABILITRAK SYSTEM. IT ALSO WILL COME UP WITH OTHER ERRORS EITHER CONCERNING THE STEERING COLUMN OR THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. THE STEERING WHEEL WILL JERK OUT OF YOUR HANDS ALMOST AS IF THE VEHICLE IS STEERING ITSELF AGAINST THE TURN. ON TWO OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE DIED AND WOULD NOT START UNTIL RESTING FOR A BIT, ONCE FOR TEN MINUTES IN A BUSY INTERSECTION. GM NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE VERY SOON. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A DITCH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BRUISED LUNG, BRUISED KNEE, AND SEVERAL LACERATIONS THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT FACILITY. SERVICE CHEVROLET CADILLAC (LOCATED AT 1212 AMBASSADOR CAFFERY PKWY, LAFAYETTE, LA 70506, (337) 234-9411) WAS CONTACTED AND NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED.

THE CONTACT CALLED NASH CHEVROLET AT (770) 822-6678 AND WAS INFORMED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,859.
MY AIR CONDITIONIONG STARTED TO BLOW HOT AIR. I TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING A NEW AC CONDENSER. PART IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER WITH NO ESTIMATED TIME. IT IS SUMMER TIME AND TOO HOT TO DRIVE WITHOUT AC.
A/C CONDENSER DEVELOPED A CRACK AND HAS FAILED / ALL FREON HAS LEAKED OUT, HAVE TRIED TO WORK WITH GM AND NOTHING BUT JUST TELLING US 2 TO 3 MONTHS OUT FOR THE PART / IT'S 99 DEGREES WITH 70% TODAY IN SOUTH CAROLINA PLUS THIS IS THE 9TH WEEK I HAVE NOTHING. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TRIED TO STEP IN AND HELP BECAUSE GM WOULD NOT AND THEY WILL NOT EVEN ANSWER THE DEALERSHIPS CALLS. I'M ONE PISSED OFF CONSUMER WITH NO OTHER PLACE TO TURN
I OWN A 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO. VIN: [XXX]. THE AC STOPPED COOLING. ONE DAY IT WAS ICE COLD. THE NEXT DAY IT BLEW HOT AIR. I TALKED TO MY DEALER AND THEY SAY THAT IT'S A KNOW ISSUE AND THAT GM ISSUED A TSB FOR REPAIR GUIDELINES BUT HAVE YET TO ISSUE A RECALL. THEY SAY THE REPAIR IS BETWEEN 1000.00 AND 1800.00. THEY SAID I COULD GET A REFUND IF A RECALL IS ISSUED LATER ON. THEY SAID THEY WOULD LOOK UP THE TSB NUMBER FOR ME, BUT HAVE NOT YET TO GIVEN IT TO ME. LOOKING AT MULTIPLE FORUMS I SEE MANY OWNERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. SEVERAL SAY THEY GOT THE ISSUE REPAIRED AND THEIR PAPERWORK STATED "PERFORMED PIT5337". MOST THREADS MENTION THAT THIS IS A KNOWN MFG FLAW WITH THE HOSE BRACKET FOR THIS MODEL. THE FLAW ALLOWS THE HOSE FITTING TO CRACK OVER TIME. IT APPEARS THAT GM INCLUDES A SUPPORT BRACKET WITH THE NEW HOSE AS PART OF THE REPAIR. THAT REPLACEMENT BRACKET IS GM23264893. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY DEALER TO HAVE MY VEHICLE CHECKED TO CONFIRM THAT MY ISSUE IS CAUSED BY THIS FLAW. THE DID SAY THAT THEY HAVE HAD 8 VEHICLES IN FOR THIS REPAIR. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF THE VEHICLE BEING INVOLVED IN A TSB. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DAVIS-MOORE CHEVROLET (8200 W KELLOGG DR, WICHITA, KS) WHERE A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SIX OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
I HAVE A 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO PICK UP TRUCK. I HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THIS TRUCK UNTIL YESTERDAY!!!! AT 22,000 MILES THE TRUCK MALFUNCTIONED TWICE WITHIN A SHORT DISTANCE. THE TRUCK SOME WHAT STALLED WITH OUT WARNING AND ALL THE DASH LIGHTS WENT CRAZY AND TRUCK LOST POWER. LESS THAN A HALF MILE LATER WHILE TURNING LEFT IN A CUL DE SAC THE TRUCK WENT CRAZY, STALLED, DASH LIT UP, THE STEERING WHEEL VIOLENTLY TURNED TO THE RIGHT AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT. IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT INTO SERVICE. 4 DAYS PAST WARRANTY EXPIRATION. CHEVY/JESSUP AUTO GRP WON'T FIX IT. KEVIN IN SERVICE SAID HE WOULD CALL ME ON WED AT 4 WITH UPDATE. THURS AT 11AM STILL NO WORD. DROPPED BY SERVICE DEPT. FOR UPDATE WITH KEVIN. HE SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE PRICE READY FOR REPAIR. DENIED COVERAGE UNDER RECENTLY EXPIRED WARRANTY. WHEN I SHOWED HIM A LIST OF SERIOUS COMPUTER MALFUNCTIONS AND SAFETY ISSUES FROM ONLINE CHEVY TRUCK OWNERS HE TOLD ME HE WASN'T INTERESTED AND HE HAD OTHER PEOPLE TO TEND TO. HE ALSO SAID I DROPPED BY WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. IN OTHER WORDS, I NO LONGER WAS A PRIORITY. WHEN ASKED FOR SERVICE DEPT GENERAL MGR. ---OH-HE IS NOT AVAILABLE. SO NOW MY LOW MILEAGE TRUCK SITS WITH NO REPAIR, APPEARS TO BE A HAZARD TO DRIVE, GM NOT STANDING BEHIND NOR HAS A FIX FOR THE COMPUTER MALFUNCTIONS THAT HAS BEEN REPORTED WIDESPREAD ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM , LEAVES ME WITH A VERY EXPENSIVE PAPER WEIGHT THAT I AM FEARFUL TO DRIVE. WHILE TURNING RIGHT AT 5 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED, THE BRAKES FAILED TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN, AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER EXCEPT FOR THE ESC INDICATOR AND A WARNING CHIME SOUNDED. THE FAILURES RECURRED AS THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE LEFT AND THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO SPUN INDEPENDENTLY TO THE RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JESSUP AUTO PLAZA IN CATHEDRAL CITY, CA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY CABLE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED A CASE FOR POTENTIAL REPURCHASE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: N172085440. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,800.
AC CONDENSER LEAKING. STUCK IN 4X4. DRIVER SEAT BASE MOVES
NO POWER BRAKES. AT LOW SPEEDS VACUUM PUMP DOES NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH VACUUM FOR BRAKES TO WORK. VERY HARD BRAKE PEDAL FEELS LIKE YOU HAVE NO BRAKES. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN PIT5361B WHEN I SPOKE TO CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY TOLD ME MY TRUCK WASN'T COVERED UNDER THIS BUT IT CLEARLY IS. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND MIGHT CAUSE MANY ACCIDENTS OR DEATHS
STARTED EXPERIENCING A POPPING SOUND AND POPPING /CLICKING FEELING IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS ,WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION.THIS WOULD USUALLY OCCUR IN TIGHT SPACES SUCH AS PARKING LOTS ,GAS STATIONS ETC. AND AFTER THE TRUCK WAS DRIVEN FOR AWHILE ,20 PLUS MILES AFTER A FEW WEEKS STARTED NOTICING THAT FRONT TIRES WERE WEARING RAPIDLY AND CLICK/POPPING SOUND HAD PROGRESSED AND SO WE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT WITH DEALERSHIP, AND MET WITH SERVICE TECH ,AFTER A BRIEF DIAGNOSIS I WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS A FAULTY RACK AND PINION AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED, THIS IS A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT ON A FAIRLY NEW TRUCK WITH LESS THEN 68000 MILES
THE AIR CONDITIONER QUIT WORKING SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY RAN THE DIAGNOSIS ON IT AND SAID THAT THE A/C CONDENSER HAS A LEAK AT ONE OF THE WELDS ON IT. I ASKED IF THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE SEEN SEVERAL OF THE TRUCKS WITH THIS PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THERE IS A BIGGER PROBLEM BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT GET THE PART ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY AND NOBODY KNOWS WHEN THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE. IS THERE A RECALL IN THE WORKS FOR THIS PROBLEM?
LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY TRYING TO TURN.
I PURCHASE A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 FROM A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP IN APRIL 2017 FOR MY SON TO GO TO COLLEGE. THE TRUCK WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION. IT WAS A "CERTIFIED USED VECHICLE". THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED AN ADDITIONAL 20,000 MILE OVER OEM WARRANTY WITH THE CERTIFIED STATUS. WE TOOK THE TRUCK HOME AND MY SON STARTED DRIVING THE TRUCK. ROUGHLY A MONTH LATER, WE BOTH NOTICE THE CLEAR COAT ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR BEGAN TO PEEL IN A SMALL SPOT. WE TOOK THE TRUCK INTO THE DEALERSHIP AT IT'S 1ST SERVICE INTERVAL AND ASKED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ABOUT THE SPOT. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT THIS WAS A VERY UNUSUAL SITUATION, AND UNFORTUNATELY SINCE THE ORIGINAL 36,000 MILE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. AFTER AN ANOTHER MONTH HAD PASSED, WE NOTICED THE SPOT ON THE DOOR HAD GROWN LARGER, AND THERE WERE ADDITIONAL SPOTS POPPING UP ON VARIOUS SPOTS ON THE TRUCK. I PERSONALLY TOOK THE VECHICLE TO THE DEALER AND ONCE AGAIN THEY INDICATED THIS WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND CHEVROLET CURRENTLY WASN'T EXPERIENCING AND ISSUES WITH THEIR PAINT AND CLEAR COAT PROCESS. MY SON WENT TO COLLEGE THIS FALL, AND UPON HIS RETURN FROM COLLEGE I SAW THE SPOTS OF CLEAR COAT CONTINUE TO INCREASE IN SIZE AND NUMBER. I RECENTLY WENT ONLINE AND CLICKED SEVERAL CHEVROLET FORUMS REGARDING THE FALLIBILITY OF THEIR PAINT AND CLEAR COAT. I WAS AMAZED AT THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEIR PAINT AND CLEAR COAT. THIS WASN'T AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AS THE DEALER INDICATED BUT ONE THAT INVOLVES MANY TRUCKS AND CARS THAT CHEVROLET PRODUCES DURING THE YEARS OF 2013-2015. CAN THERE BE SOMETHING DONE REGARDING THIS MATTER. I AM AWARE THAT THIS ISN'T A SAFETY ISSUE PER SAY; HOWEVER, WE HAVE A PROBLEM THAT CHEVROLET ISN'T WILLING TO ACKNOWLEDGE OR REPAIR.
AC NO LONGER BLOWS COLD AIR. WHILE DRIVING, THE AC STOPPED BLOWING COLD AIR AND WILL NOT BLOW ANY MORE.
TRAVELING AT APPROX. 65MPH ON US17 A DIVIDED FOUR LANE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING WHICH RESULTED IN COMPLETE LOSS OF LIGHTS, SIGNALS, FLASHERS, HORN, AND THE STEERING WHEEL WENT INTO LOCKED POSITION. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY BRING THE TRUCK TO A STOP IN THE GRASS MEDIAN. AFTER COLLECTING MY THOUGHTS I TRIED TO RESTART THE TRUCK BUT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE AND ALL ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS WOULD NOT OPERATE. ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER WHILE I WAS ON MY CELL PHONE WITH A TOW SERVICE THE INTERIOR LIGHTS CAM ON ALONG WITH THE RADIO. THE TRUCK STARTED UP AND AFTER CALLING THE CLOSEST GM DEALER WHICH HAPPEN TO BE ONLY A FEW MILES AWAY I MADE MY WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT. THEY WERE QUICKLY ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM AS GM HAD ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN #PIT5405C ON THIS TYPE OF ISSUE. IT WAS CAUSED BY DASHBOARD FABRIC TRIM BEING CAUGHT UNDER A GROUND POST DURING ASSEMBLY THAT RESULTED IN LOSS OF ALL ELECTRICAL SERVICE. THE TRUCK HAD APPROX. 40,000 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE EVENT AND IT SEEMS IT TOOK EITHER TWO YEARS OR THAT REASONABLY LOW MILEAGE BEFORE THE PROBLEM SURFACED. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE PROBLEM BY SIMPLY LOSING A GROUND POST AND TRIMMING OUT THE FABRIC INTRUSION. THEY WERE GREAT AND APOLOGIZED FOR WHAT THEY SAW AS CLEARLY A DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING. THEY DID CHARGE AS THE TRUCK WAS OUT OF THE 36,000 MILE WARRANTY BUT SAID I SHOULD CONTACT GM CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR HELP WITH THE COST. GM REFUSED BUT IT WAS ONLY ABOUT $100.00 SO THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE. HOW CAN A COMPANY ALLOW THIS PROBLEM TO EXIST AND BE AWARE OF IT ( TECHNICAL BULLETIN ISSUED). IT IS A WONDER THAT I OR ANOTHER MOTORIST ON THE ROAD WITH ME WAS NOT HURT OR WORSE. THIS NOT LIKE A TRUCK NOT STARTING BUT TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL AT HIGHWAY SPEED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SEAT TRACK WAS FRACTURED AND BENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT TRACK WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE REPRESENTATIVE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE AND STATED THAT CHEVROLET WOULD NOT ISSUE A RECALL UNTIL FORCED BY NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.
MY 2014 SILVERADO WAS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AND MY A/C CONDENSER WENT OUT. I'VE CONTACTED GM AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT SAY THEY'LL PAY $200 OUT OF THE $1300 ESTIMATE THE DEALERSHIP GAVE ME. THIS PART IS NATIONALLY BACKORDERED, WHICH MEANS IT IS IN HIGH DEMAND, BECAUSE GM PUT A BAD CONDENSER IN THESE TRUCKS. THEY ARE DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HELP THE CUSTOMERS BUT PAY A MEASLY PORTION OF THE BILL MOST WORKING CLASS AMERICANS CANT JUST JUMP UP AND PAY. I WILL NEVER BUY A GM AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE. IN KENTUCKY THE SUMMERS ARE MISERABLE, AND WITHOUT AC IT MAKES THEM THAT MUCH MORE MISERABLE. BOTTOM LINE, GM CAUSED THIS PROBLEM, GM SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM.
MY TRUCK HAS 43K MILES ON IT. DRIVING IT THE OTHER DAY ON A CITY STREET, I HEARD A SQUEALING SOUND, AND THEN THE BRAKES FAILED. I HAD TO PUSH DOWN REALLY HARD TO AVOID REAR ENDING A CAR IN FRONT OF ME ON MY WAY HOME. WHEN I GOT HOME I COULD SEE THAT THE BELT POWERING THE VACUUM ASSIST PUMP FOR THE BRAKES HAD SNAPPED. SO I WENT TO AUTOZONE AND PURCHASED ANOTHER ONE. PUT IT ONE AND STARTED THE TRUCK. THE SQUEALING WAS QUITE LOUD BECAUSE THE BELT WAS TURNING, BUT NOT THE VACUUM PUMP. SO I REMOVED THE PUMP AND DISCOVERED LARGE AMOUNTS OF METAL SHARDS IN THE OIL, WHICH NOW MEANS I CAN'T DRIVE THE TRUCK WITHOUT RISKING TAKING OUT MY ENGINE. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ON A 3 YEAR OLD VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED NOT TO SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE IN THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
A/C CONDENSER FAILED AT 60,000 MILES, LEAKING
TRUCK STARTED BLOWING WARM AIR 2 MONTHS AGO. TRUCK WAS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AT 38,598 MILES. TOOK TO FIRESTONE REPAIR CENTER ON 5/06/2017 TO HAVE AC CHECKED OUT. THEY NOTED THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE CONDENSER. CONTACTED CHEVROLET CUSTOMER CARE WHO OPENED A CASE AND THEY MENTIONED THAT I NOW HAD TO TAKE THE TRUCK TO AN AUTHORIZED CHEVROLET DEALER. I DID THAT AND THEY CONFIRMED THE FIRESTONE DIAGNOSIS AND ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE CONDENSER IS ON A NATIONWIDE BACK-ORDER. THE TEMPERATURE IN THE CALIFORNIA EAST BAY IS NEARING 100 DEGREES AND EXPECTED TO STAY THAT WAY FOR SOME TIME. NO WORK FORM CHEVROLET REGARDING WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE.

I PURCHASED THE TRUCK MAY 2015. THE AC CONDENSER WENT OUT APRIL 2017. IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THE PART HAS SOME TYPE OF HOLD ON IT. READING FORUMS CHEVROLET KNOWS THIS IS AN ISSUE, BUT IS IN NO HURRY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ALSO READ THAT THIS ISSUE IS MORE LIKELY TO OCCUR AGAIN. THERE IS NO REASON A 2 YEAR OLD TRUCK SHOULD BE HAVING AC ISSUES. IT IS VERY COMMON IN THE SPECIFIC YEAR. GM NEEDS TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND MAKE IT RIGHT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE CONDENSER WAS ON A NATIONAL BACKORDER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE CONDENSER WAS INCLUDED IN A NATIONAL BACKORDER INDEFINITELY. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO AROUND 42000 MILES I STOPPED AT A LIGHT ON A HIGHWAY AND LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER AND THE SERVICE STEERING ASSIST CAME ON DASH. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN TURNING. ON 4-13-17 I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO A CHEVY DEALER IT WAS WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. 8-24-17 I BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN FOR A RECALL #17276 FOR REPROGRAMMING THE POWER STEERING ASSIST CONTROL MODULAR. AFTER THE RECALL THE TRUCK STARTED DOING IT MORE OFTEN THE SAME DAY BUT THE STEERING DID NOT LOCK UP BUT THE TRUCK SHUT OFF WHEN I TRIED MAKING A TURN ON A HIGHWAY. THE SERVICE STEERING ASSIST LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. ON 9-7-17 I BROUGHT THE TRUCK BACK TO THE CHEVY DEALER ( CHEVY DEALER NOW CHANGED ITS NAME FROM OASIS TO QUALITY ) COMPLAINING THAT THE RECALL DID NOT WORK. THEY SAID THAT THE RECALL WAS NOT FOR THAT. BUT I BELIEVE IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY CHEVY DEALER DROVE THE TRUCK FOR 10 MILES AND IT HAPPENED TO THEM.THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE TIME TO TROUBLE SHOOT THE PROBLEM AND FOUND A LOOSE GROUND WIRE #G218 UNDER THE DASH CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE DRIVING THE TRUCK FOR 2 DAYS NOW AND IT SEEMS FINE. THE ISSUE IS THAT THEY MADE ME PAY FOR SOMETHING THEY SHOULD HAVE FIXED THE FIRST TIME AND I BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN PART OF RECALL # 17276, BECAUSE I BELIEVE PART OF RECALL #17276 HAD TO DO WITH LOW VOLTAGE TO THE STEERING MODULAR. A LOOSE GROUND WILL GIVE YOU LOW VOLTAGE. ANY WAY THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I HAVE READ ONLINE OF OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE MAKE A RECALL ABOUT THIS LOOSE GROUND WIRE THAT MAKES THE TRUCK SHUT OFF AND LOSE STEERING BEFORE SOMEONE DIES. THANK YOU

EVENT # 2: VERY NEXT DAY; BACKING SLOWLY OUT OF DRIVEWAY; STOPPED ON STREET; TURNED STEERING WHEEL SLOWLY TO LEFT TO PROCEED DOWN STREET; STEERING WHEEL JERKS VIOLENTLY TO THE RIGHT; AFTER BRAKING & SITTING FOR 5 SECONDS WITH THE ENGINE IDLING AGAIN, WAS ABLE TO PROCEED. EVENT # 3: 15 MINUTES AFTER EVENT #2; AGAIN BACKING SLOWLY TO THE LEFT TO TURN AROUND, & THEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO PROCEED FORWARD, STEERING WHEEL JERKS VIOLENTLY TO THE LEFT OUT OF MY HANDS. AGAIN AFTER BRAKING TO A STOP & SITTING AT IDLE FOR 5 SECONDS WAS ABLE TO PROCEED. DURING ALL 3 EVENTS, THE SCREEN DISPLAYED "SERVICE STABILITRAK". THIS ISSUE "STEERING WHEEL JERKED VIOLENTLY OUT OF MY HANDS" & "STEERING LOCKS UP (VIDEO INCLUDED) WHEN TURNING" IS FREQUENTLY DISCUSSED ON GM FORUMS BY OWNERS. ONE OWNER APPEARS TO HAVE SOLVED IT BY FIXING A POOR ELECTRICAL GROUND UNDER THE DASH.
THE TRUCK TURNED OFF ON ME ON THE FREEWAY AND I LOST CONTROL FOR A FEW SECONDS. HAD TO PAY TO GET IT TOWED TO MY HOUSE BECAUSE IT WAS AT NIGHT COULDN'T TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AFTER AND THEY SAID IT WAS MY BATTERY . I'M JUST GETTING TIRED OF ALL THE ISSUES THAT GM HAS. I'M GETTING FRUSTRATED OF TAKING MY TRUCK IN FOR RECALLS EVERY OTHER MONTH!
