TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN, ALL THE INDICATORS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FLASHED RAPIDLY AND THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT INDEPENDENTLY. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY STABILTRAK LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THAT TOLD ME THE UO126 AND CO544 SETTING FOUND POWER STEERING MODULE NOT COMMUNICATING AND THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE MODULE FOR THE SHORT IN THE WIRE. AFTER TALKING TO SEVERAL DEALERS I WAS TOLD THAT SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES. I HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES WITH OTHER CHEVY'S SUCH AS MY 08 COBALT WHERE THERE WAS A RECALL WITH THE POWER STEERING TURNING OFF. *TR
I WAS INVOLVED IN A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT (I WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME AT A DRY, MUTLI-TURN LANE LIGHT) NOV 15, 2016. AFTER COLLISION REPAIRS TO THE VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE, I FOUND THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT WOULD NOT RECLINE. DEALERSHIP WORKED ON IT AND CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED IT. AFTER THE FIRST ATTEMPT, IT RECLINED BUT WOULD NOT LOCK INTO PLACE ON THE RIGHT SIDE. RETURNED TO DEALERSHIP AND REQUIRED METAL SEAT BACK FRAME REPLACEMENT TO FIX THE FAILURE. DEALERSHIP COULDN'T OR WOULDN'T IDENTIFY THIS AS A PROBLEM THAT RESULTED FROM THE ACCIDENT. INSURANCE WOULD NOT COVER THE DAMAGE AS THE DIRECT HIT TO THE TRUCK WAS ON THE RIGHT SIDE, OPPOSITE THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND AS I HAVE NEVER HAD A SEAT FAILURE OF THIS TYPE AND HAVE OWNED OTHER NEW CHEVY TRUCKS SIMILAR TO THIS ONE I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS IS COULD BE A FAULTY PRODUCTION RUN OF THE SEAT BACK FRAME. THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT DID NOT EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS AFTER THE ACCIDENT. I'M NOW CONCERNED THAT THERE MAY BE OTHER HIDDEN CRITICAL FAILURE ITEMS THAT MAY HAVE BEEN THE RESULT OF THE ACCIDENT OR COULD POSSIBLY BE AN INSTALLED FACTORY FAILURE. I DON'T HAVE PHOTOS BUT I DO HAVE THE OLD SEAT BACK FRAME IN MY POSSESSION IF NEEDED.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SEVERE VIBRATION WHILE BEING OPERATED AT 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TREAD HAD SEPARATED. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE ENTIRE SUBFRAME WAS RUSTED AND CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (DENOOYER CHEVROLET LOCATED IN ALBANY, NEW YORK) WHO APPLIED A WAX RUST PROOF COATING TO THE FRAME, BUT THE RUSTING CONTINUED TO PROGRESS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WAX RUST PROOF COATING WAS A TEMPORARY REMEDY AND WOULD EVENTUALLY WEAR OFF. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT A POWDER COATING WAS BEING APPLIED TO ONLY NEWER VEHICLES TO PREVENT THE RUSTING FROM OCCURRING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000. *BF CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS SENT TO AN AUTHORIZED CHEVY DEALERSHIP FOR "RUST PROOFING" OF FRAME BACK IN DEC. 2016. BODY SHOP MANAGER NOTIFIED ME THAT THIS WAS A "BAND AID" TO THE PROBLEM IN 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO. DURING MANUFACTURING OF VEHCLE I WAS TOLD GM PUTS A "WAX" ON FRAME. ONCE THE "WAX" WEARS OFF, THE METAL ON THE FRAME IS EXPOSED TO THE HARMFUL ENVIROMENTAL AGENTS (SALT,WATER, DIRT). AFTER 6 MONTHS OF "RUST PROOFING," RUST RE-APPEARED ON FRAME. THIS FRAME WILL NOT LAST 3-5 YEARS. VERY DANGEROUS AND UN-SAFE. UPDATED 10/4/18*JB
THIS FAILURE HAS OCCURRED QUITE A FEW TIMES. DRIVING HOME THEN TURNING LEFT THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND SHOOK VIOLENTLY BACK AND FORTH. I ALMOST HIT A CAR IN THE OPPOSITE LANE DUE TO THE LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH, RADIO, AC FAN ALL FLICKERED AND SUDDENLY THE TRUCK SHUT OFF. I TURNED IT BACK ON AND DROVE WITH SIMILAR ISSUES AND WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH TELLING ME THE STEERING ASSIST IS OFF AND SERVICE STABILITRAK. WHEN I PUSHED THE WINDOW CONTROL UP WITH THE WINDOW SHUT THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN SHUTTING THE CRUISE CONTROL OFF WHEN I USED THE TURN SIGNAL. I'M WORRIED ABOUT MY FAMILY'S SAFETY THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE AND CAN'T "FIND THE FAULT CODE" WHICH I FIND RIDICULOUS WITH ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY CONTROLLING EVERYTHING. ON MY 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO WHEN I WAS FILLING THE TANK WITH GAS THE FILL NECK PARTIALLY BROKE LOOSE AND I SPILLED ABOUT A CUP OF GAS AT A LOCAL GAS STATION. I LOOKED TO SEE A PLASTIC PLUG HAD BROKEN CAUSING THE FILL NECK TO COME LOOSE WHEN FUELING. I REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED ME THEY HAVE HAS "A COUPLE DOZEN OCCURRENCES SIMILAR" THEY SAID THEY WOULD REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART WITH THE SAME PART. THIS IS ONE FASTENER THAT NEEDS TO BE METAL AND HELD IN WITH A LOCK WASHER. (NOT PLASTIC) SEE PIX. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM --SEE MY FIX WITH A METAL BOLT VS THE DEFECTIVE PLASTIC PLUG THAT COMES FROM THE FACTORY. PLS TAKE ACTION BEFORE SOMEONE BURNS UP IN A FIRE DUE TO THESE FILL NECK FASTENER PROBLEM. THANK YOU. AUSTIN, TX WHILE DRIVING HOME WITH INFANT CHILD, TRUCK AC WOULD NOT COOL CABIN IN AN UNSEASONABLY WARM NOVEMBER AFTERNOON. TOOK TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP AND DIAGNOSED AS CRACK IN HIGH SIDE REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE. HAD IT REPAIRED & BRACKET INSTALLED. WHILE HAVING TRUCK IN SHOP BECAME AWARE THAT THIS WAS AN EMERGING ISSUE AND GM HAS NOT ACTED ON RESOLVING THE DESIGN FLAW.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,970.
MY 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO HAS BEEN GIVING ME HARD TIME DUE TO THAT AS IM DRIVING THE TRUCK OUT OF NO WERE TURNS THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT RIGHT AND LOCKS WITH NO CONTROL OF IT AND ALL THE LIGHTS FROM THE TRUCK IN AND OUT SIDE GO OUT THE AC TURNS OF AND UNLOCKS THE DOORS. MY 2014 SILVERADO LTZ 1500 HAS HAD A DISTRACTING VIBRATION/SHAKE SINCE DAY ONE THAT IS FELT AT ALMOST ALL SPEEDS. I NOTIFIED THEM OF IMMEDIATELY. THEY REBALANCED THE TIRES, IT DID NOT HELP. THE CHANGED ALL FOUR TIRES TWO DIFFERENT TIMES, IT DID NOT HELP. THEY DID SOME SPECIAL LOAD BALANCING, IT DID NOT HELP. WITH 32K ON IT AND MY WARRANTY RUNNING OUT I GAVE IT BACK TO THEM AGAIN FOR ANOTHER REBALANCING, THAT DID NOT HELP. MY BROTHER FULLY AGREES WITH ME ABOUT THE VIBRATION/SHAKE; WE ARE BOTH PREVIOUS OWNERS OF SILVERADO 1500'S THAT RODE EXCELLENT. HE NOW HAS A 2013 GMC SIERRA THAT RIDES JUST FINE. FRUSTRATED WITH MY RIDE AND LACK OF RESOLUTION I TEST DROVE A 2016 SILVERADO LTZ Z71 HOPING TO TRADE OUT OF THE ISSUE; BUT THE 2016 RIDE WAS NO BETTER. CHEVROLET HAS AN ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED!

I WAS ON MY WAY BACK FROM LUNCH DROVE TO MY NORMAL PARKING PLACE VEHICLE IN DRIVE FOOT ON BRAKE I STRAIGHTENED THE WHEEL SLIGHTLY AND THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TURNING VIOLENTLY ONE DIRECTION, I TURNED IT BACK TO CENTER AND IT TURNED VIOLENTLY THE OTHER DIRECTION, ONCE AGAIN I STRAIGHTENED OUT THE WHEEL AND IT TURNED VIOLENTLY THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND IT TRIPPED A STABILTRAK LIGHT ON THE DASH AND QUIT. I TOOK IT IMMEDIATELY TO THE GUNN CHEVROLET IN SAN ANTONIO TEXAS 210-599-5000 AND A CALL FILED WITH CHEVROLET AND RECORDED TWICE THEY ARE SAYING THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS AS THIS IS HUGE FOR A VEHICLE TO START STEERING ITSELF FOR IF THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC IN NATURE NOT ONLY TO ME, MY FAMILY ALSO THOSE IN THE PUBLIC ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE BEEN ON THE LINE WITH GM AND TO NO AVAIL THEY ARE SAYING THE CAR IS SAFE, BUT I WORRY THAT THEY ARE PUTTING MONEY OVER SAFETY.

ON THE STREET GOING ABOUT 30MPH TURNING RIGHT THE STIRRING WHEEL LOCKED UP ON ME AND I WAS CLOSE TO COLLIDING WITH A TRUCK ON THE OPPOSITE LANE DUE TO THE FACT THAT I BASICALLY LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE I JUST PUT THE TRUCK ON PARKING AND THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH,RADIO,VA ALL FLICKERED AND SUDDENLY THE TRUCK SHUT OFF I TURNED IT BACK ON AND DROVE AND DID NOT HAVE AN ISSUE OTHER THEN MESSAGES ON THE DASH TELLING ME TO DRIVE SAFE STEERING ASSIST OFF AND SERVICE STABILITRAC. THE TIMES BEFORE I DIDN'T GET PICTURES BUT I'M CONCERNED ABOUT MY FAMILY'S SAFETY THINGS COULD OF GOT WORST AND THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T SEEM TO "FIND THE CODE FOR THE ISSUE" WHICH I FIND RIDICULOUS WITH SOME MUCH AND AN ES TECHNOLOGY EVERYTHING SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET DIAGNOSES AT THE DEALERSHIP.

THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONDENSER UNIT WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.

THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED FOR HIS SAFETY DUE TO THE HUMIDITY AND CLIMATE WHERE HE LIVES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GUARANTY CHEVROLET (711 17TH ST, SANTA ANA, CA 92701) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT ONE OF THE AIR CONDITION HOLES WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ONE YEAR LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO GUARANTY CHEVROLET (711 17TH ST, SANTA ANA, CA 92701), BUT A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS NOT PERFORMED DUE TO THE PRICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
AT 113,000 MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES, TRUCK STARTED SHIMMERING WHEN A LOAD WAS PLACED ON IT, LIKE GOING UP HILLS. WAS TOLD AT CHEVY DEALER IT WAS TRANSMISSION. MY WARRANTY WAS UP TILL 100K WHICH WAS 2.5 MONTHS BEFORE THIS PROBLEM. I FLUSHED TRANSMISSION EVERY 30K (WAY EARLY) AND LOCAL DEALER SAID TRANSMISSION SHOULD NEVER HAVE GONE LIKE THAT. GM IS NOT WANTING TO HELP AT ALL ON A 48K COST TRUCK AND I HAD TO PAY 5150.00 TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION. PLUS OUT OF TOWN "BEING STUCK" COSTS TOO.
SPARK PLUG WIRES IN THE 1ST (TWICE), 3RD, AND 6TH POSITION HAVE BECOME DISLODGED WHILE DRIVING, BOTH IN TOWN AND ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS THEN CAUSES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE, AND THE ENGINE TO BECOME OUT OF BALANCE.

IN ADDITION, THE STABILITRAK, BRAKE, AND STEERING OFF WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL NEEDED TO BE DEPRESSED IN ORDER FOR THE BRAKES TO FUNCTION NORMALLY. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,600.
WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS THE STEERING WHEEL WILL RANDOMLY KICK BACK AGAINST YOU AS YOU ARE TURNING IT AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME BUT HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN MAY, JUNE AND SEPTEMBER 2016. ALL THREE TIMES IT WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP AND ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO REPAIR IT. THIS IS A COMPLAINT ON A 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO TRUCK WHICH WE PURCHASED NEW AND HAS ONLY HAD ONE DRIVER. IT WILL RANDOMLY LOSS POWER GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. ALSO, FREQUENTLY NOW, LOSSES POWER STEERING AND WILL VIOLENTLY JERK MAKING IT UNCONTROLLABLY. HAD THE TRUCK IN THE SHOP AT THE DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED IT 2 YEARS AGO AND THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING. WE TOOK THE TRUCK IN TO THE SHOP FOR THE RECALL BUT ARE STILL HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE AND THE DEALER IS WANTING TO CHARGE FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC AND ANY REPAIRS, STATING THE TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY.
1. DRIVER'S SEAT RECLINING MECHANISM JAMMED AND STOPPED WORKING. HAD TO HAVE SEAT BACK FRAME ASSEMBLY REPLACED JUST AFTER WARRANTY. 2. SIX SPEED TRANSMISSION GENERALLY WORKS GOOD MOST OF THE TIME. ON OCCASIONS (ABOUT 50 SO FAR) WHEN BACKING OUT OF A SPACE AND SHIFTING GEAR FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE, THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT, THERE IS A 2-3 SECOND DELAY BEFORE IT SHIFTS AND JUMPS INTO GEAR WITH A CLUNK. THIS CAUSES PROBLEMS WHEN YOU ARE BACKING OUT INTO TRAFFIC IN PARKING LOT, ONTO A STREET, OR MAKING A 3-POINT TURN AND THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT WHEN YOU ANTICIPATE IT SHOULD AND YOU ARE STUCK THERE FOR THE DELAY. THIS COULD CAUSE A CRASH. TOOK TO DEALER UNDER WARRANTY, THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE PROBLEM. DATE AT BOTTOM IS A GUESS. HAVE TO CHECK DEALER RECORDS AT HOME.

ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON THEN DISPLAYED STABILIZER MALFUNCTION THE TRUCK STOP WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. DIFFICULT TO STEER WHEN ENGINE STOPPED. CAR HAS STOPPED SEVERAL TIMES. I WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK IN DOWNTOWN AUSTIN, I PULLED IN TO THE RIGHT TO A RESTAURANT, AND PROCEEDED TO PULL UP AND PARK IN REVERSE. AS I PULLED UP AND ALIGNED THE TRUCK I SLIGHTLY TURNED THE TRUCK STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT TO STRAIGHTEN UP AS I DID THIS THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED TO THE LEFT EVEN MORE WITH ITS OWN FORCE, THE DISPLAY MARKED STABILITRAK AND ENGINE POWER REDUCED , AND THEN DID THIS TO ME THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS TRYING TO STRAIGHTEN UP THE TRUCK TO TRY AND BACK UP TO PARK. NOT ONLY THAT MY WIFE WHO DRIVES THE TRUCK DAILY SAID IT DID THIS TO HER SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE AND ITS EVEN COMPLETELY DIED ON HER, WITH HER HAVING TO PUT THE TRUCK BACK INTO PARK AND RESTART THE TRUCK. LUCKILY IT HAS NOT YET DONE THIS TO US OR MORE SPECIFICALLY TO MY WIFE BECAUSE SHE DRIVES THE TRUCK DAILY, TO HER ON THE INTERSTATE OR MAJOR HIGHWAY . I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE JUNE 2016 WITH 32K MILES ON THE ODOMETER. AUGUST 2016 AT 35K MILES WHILE DRIVING AT 55MPH, THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN 4 TIMES WITHIN 2 MILES. AS I TURNED INTO MY DRIVEWAY, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AGAIN ALONG WITH THE ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED VIOLENTLY AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED JUST SHORT OF HITTING MY MAILBOX. ALL FUNCTIONS WERE DEAD AT THIS POINT. I TURNED THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND BACK ON AND THE VEHICLE STARTED AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. 3 DAYS LATER ON A FAMILY OUTING, AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE IN A PARKING SPACE AT A THEME PARK, MY WIFE HAD FORGOTTEN HER THEME PARK MUG, SO WE WALKED BACK TO GET IT. WHEN I TRIED TO UNLOCK THE VEHICLE USING THE REMOTE KEY ENTRY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT UNLOCK. I USED THE KEY TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE COURTESY LIGHT WAS NOT ON WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR. I THEN TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING. IT HAD NO POWER AS IF THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. AFTER SPENDING THE DAY IN THE THEME PARK WITH FRIENDS, WE WERE GOING TO GET A RIDE HOME DUE TO THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING. I TOLD THEM LETS TRY TO START IT AGAIN AND SEE IF IT WILL DO ANYTHING. IT STARTED AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THE FOLLOWING DAY AND THEY SAID IT WAS A NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR A WEEK AND SAID THE PROBLEM HAD BEEN FIXED. 2 WEEKS LATER, THE VEHICLE STARTED THE SAME ERRATIC PROCESS. THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS SHUT DOWN AND THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED VIOLENTLY AT THE SAME TIME. THE SERVICE STABILITRAK LIGHT CAME ON AND THAT WAS WHILE DRIVING IN A PUBLIC PARKING LOT. IF THIS HAPPENS ON A HIGHWAY OR INTERSTATE, SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY OR FATALLY INJURED. I ALSO HAVE VIDEO OF THE ERRATIC BEHAVIOR. A PERSON HAS NO CONTROL OF A GM VEHICLE WITH THIS SAME ISSUE AND GM IS PLACING LIVES AT RISK.

WAS IN A ACCIDENT AND ONLY THE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. WAS ONLY AND RIGHT FRONT LOW SPEED BUMP AND THE TRUCK BARELY HIT AND DID NIGHT TILT. VERY NOTICEABLE VIBRATION AT 25 MPH AND AGAIN AT 45 MPH. ONLY SEEMS TO AFFECT VEHICLE IN 4 CYLINDER MODE. LOTS OF INTERNET RESEARCH HAS FOUND THIS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH MANY CHEVY SILVERADO 1500'S AS IT IS IN MINE. I HAVE CONTACTED GM WITH A COMPLAINT AND THEY HAVE GIVEN ME CASE # 8-2286316021. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO FIX ESTABLISHED AS OF YET. BUT, MY CONCERN IS WHEN DRIVING ON SNOW, ICE OR WET ROADS, THE VIBRATION COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH TRACTION. IF IT VIBRATES WHILE ON SLIPPERY ROAD CONDITIONS THEN THE TRACTION IS REDUCED CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE RACK FALLS AT 65 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE? I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD FIX OR REPLACE THE RACK.

IN TRAFFIC AFTER HITTING MY BREAKS MANY TIMES I NOTICED MY DASH LIGHTS GO DIM, THE RADIO WOULD CUT OUT ONCE IN A WHILE AND MY GAUGE CLUSTER WOULD RESET JUST LIKE IT LOOKS WHEN YOU FIRST START THE TRUCK. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN APPROX.30 MIN. I WAS PLANNING ON TAKING IT IN THE FIRST CHANCE I GOT BUT THE NEXT DAY I WAS DRIVING IN MY RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD, A CAR WAS COMING THE OPPOSITE WAY WHEN AND I HIT MY BREAKS THE STEERING WHEEL VIOLENTLY JERKED OUT OF MY HAND AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE UP ONTO THE SIDEWALK AND ALMOST INTO A RETAINING WALL. EVERYTHING WAS DINGING THE ABS AND OTHER LIGHTS WERE ON AND THE WORD STABILITAC WAS DISPLAYED ON THE CENTER DASH. THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS INJURED. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHEN I GOT HOME AND TOOK IT IN TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. THE DEALERSHIP HAD MY TRUCK FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND OFFERED NO REAL EXPLANATION FOR WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM OTHER THAN IT WAS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM. NOW HERE WE ARE A MONTH LATER I'M DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND TAKE MY EXIT FOR WORK. WHEN I HIT MY BREAKS THE LIGHTS GO DIM IN THE TRUCK, THE RADIO GOES OUT, THE ABS AND OTHER INDICATOR LIGHTS COME ON, THINGS ARE DINGING AND STABILITRAC IS DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN ON THE DASH. WHEN I STARTED INTO MY TURN THE WHEEL JERKED VIOLENTLY MANY TIMES IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF MY TURN CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE OFF RAMP. IT TOOK EVERY BIT OF STRENGTH TO KEEP THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. I RELUCTANTLY CONTINUED ON TO WORK AS IT HAPPENED A FEW MORE TIMES. ONE OF THEM I WAS ABLE TO CAPTURE ON VIDEO. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP THAT MADE THE FIRST ASSESSMENT AND REPAIR. I DON'T FEEL SAFE OPERATING THIS VEHICLE EVEN AFTER THE REPAIR AS IT HAS BEEN PROVEN IT CAN AND WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED IF GM DOESN'T FIX IT.

I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUES HAPPEN NUMEROUS TIMES. A 3RD TIME HAPPENED AGAIN REVERSING BUT THIS TIME MY HEADLIGHTS DIMMED AND I HAD MULTIPLE SERVICE WARNINGS POP UP. A 4TH TIME I WAS AGAIN ABOUT TO REVERSE. I WAS ABLE TO STRAIGHTEN UP AND WHILE IN REVERSE AND FOOT ON BRAKE, I WOULD TURN STEERING WHEEL AND IT WOULD JERK BACK TO CENTER ON ITS OWN. I TOOK VIDEO OF THAT ACCURANCE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY YESTERDAY NIGHT. I NOTICED MY HEADLIGHTS KEPT GOING DIM THEN BRIGHT. WHILE IN CRUISE CONTROL GOING 75MPH I MOVED LEFT TO PASS A VEHICLE, WHEN I TURNED RIGHT SIGNAL ON TO COME BACK TO LANE MY CRUISE DISENGAGED. THIS HAPPEND 5 TIMES. BEFORE ONE OF THE OCCURRENCES WHILE IN CRUISE I TAPPED THE BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN, AND MY VOLT GAUGE DROPPED TO 10 OR SO AND THE HEADLIGHTS ALMLST SHUT OFF AND ALL LIGHTS IN CAB FLIKERED ON AND OFF. IT ALMOST FELT LIKE THE TRUCK WAS ABOUT TO TURN OFF BUT DIDN'T. LAST ISSUE, A FEW TIMES I HAVE TRIED TO START THE TRUCK AND THE ANTI THEFT DETERANT COMES ON AND I HAVE TO TRY NUMEROS TIMES TO GET TRUCK TO START.
WHEN FUELING VEHICLE, THE PUMP STOPS CONTINUOUSLY, AS THE HANDLE SHUTS OFF AS FUEL WILL NOT FLOW INTO TANK. FUEL IS UNABLE TO FLOW INTO TANK, SO HANDLE SHUTS OFF. YOU HAVE TO FUEL AT ONLY A TRICKLE. YOU SPEND TWENTY MINUTES TO TRY AND FILL THE VEHICLE. IF THE SYSTEM IS FOR VAPOR CONTROL IT HAS FAILED BECAUSE OF POOR DESIGN. YOU SPEND SEVEN TIMES MORE TIME,, STANDING AROUND PLAYING WITH THE FUELING HANDLE TO GET SOME FUEL INTO THE SYSTEM, THAN A SIMILAR VEHICLE NEXT TO YOU.
THE FRAME HAS MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF RUST. FRONT TO BACK EVEN REACHING UP INTO THE CAB AT THE REAR SEAT MOUNTS. ONLY 22,000 MILES. NEVER SEEN THIS MUCH AGGRESSIVE RUST ON SUCH A NEW VEHICLE. FEAR IT COULD EFFECT THE VEHICLE SYSTEMS, BRAKES OR FRAME INTEGRITY, SEAT MOUNTS. BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED IN JUNE 2016 (PRIVATE PARTY) AND DID NOT REALIZE THE EXTENT OF THE ISSUE. ON BRIEF VISUAL INSPECTION LOOKED LIKE NORMAL MICHIGAN RUST. IT'S SO NEW AND THE BODY IS PERFECT DIDN'T THINK I HAD TO LOOK INTO RUST ISSUES. CHECKED CAR FAX FOR RECALLS AND ACCIDENTS.
