TRANSMISSION PUMP ALL OF SUDDEN RENT OUT DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle inadvertently shut-off. On several occasions, after the failure occurred, the vehicle independently restarted. During the failure, the power steering assist and traction control were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the negative battery cable assembly, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 72,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The contact stated that the engine was consuming 2-quarts of engine oil every 2 weeks. Additionally, while the vehicle was turned on, the contact smelled an abnormal odor. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V152000 (Power Train). The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
THIS PROBLEM WAS A RECALL AND WAS REPAIRED BEFORE AT NO COST. NOW IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN. I TOOK A 100 MILE ROUND TRIP DAY TRIP...ON THE WAY BACK I GOT A STEERING WARNING THAT FLASHED 2 TIMES ON MY DASHBOARD WHILE GOING 75 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. THEN WHEN TURNING INTO MY SUBDIVISION THE TRUCK STALLED AND I LOST ALL POWER STEERING. THIS HAPPENED ONE OTHER TIME IN A HOME DEPOT PARKING LOT. I FEEL THE TRUCK IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. AND I HAUL A 36 FOOT TRAVEL TRAILER OCCASIONALLY. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED...THE FIRST TIME IT WAS A FREE RECALL REPAIR...PLEASE ADVISE ON HOW TO PROCEED. I PLAN TO TRADE THE TRUCK IN ASAP DUE TO THE FACT THAT MY HUSBAND AND I ARE UP IN AGE AND NO LONGER ABLE TO TRAVEL.
WHILE EXITING INTERSTATE WE LOST ALL PULLING POWER. AFTER A FEW MOMENTS IT LET US MOVE THE VEHICLE BUT PULLING POWER WAS SLIPPING, THEN WE LOST PULL AGAIN AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. THERE WERE NO SERVICE ENGINE LIGHTS OR ANYTHING AND NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD. I HAVE JUST OVER 110,000 MILES ON THIS TRUCK AND THE REPAIR SHOP TELLS ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSIONS ON THIS VEHICLE.
TRUCK BEGAN TO IDLE ROUGH AND WOULD JERK DURING TAKING OFF AND STOPPING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING AND STABILITRAK LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO REPORTED FUEL BUILDUP. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PISTONS WERE BROKEN AS WELL. MY TRUCK HAS 88,000 MILES ON IT AND GM REFUSES TO FIX IT EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE SERVICE BULLETINS PERTAINING TO THE ENGINE MISFIRE FROM FUEL BUILDUP BECAUSE THE TRUCK IS GREATER THAN 5 YEARS OLD.
AT LOW SPEEDS ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING, A SUDDEN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL HAPPENS. IT BECOMES REALLY HARD TO TURN THE VEHICLE. THEN A FEW DIFFERENT MESSAGES POP UP "STABILITRAK" AND "PARKING ASSIST IS OF" AND SOMETIMES THE TRUCK COMPLETELY TURNS OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING AND NO MATTER WHERE I AM I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND TURN THE TRUCK BACK ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ABOUT 7 TIMES IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS.
I REMOTE STARTED MY TRUCK AND IT STARTED SMOKING FROM THE REAR OF THE CREW CAB, IT WENT OUT BUT LEFT BROWN SNOW AROUND IT BUT ABOUT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD THE RIGHT REAR GLASS EXPLODED AND LUCKILY MY OLDEST DAUGHTER IS FORWARD FACING IN HER CHILD SEAT AND THE GLASS WENT OVER OR BEHIND HER CHAIR. IF MY YOUNGEST WAS THERE SHE WOULD HAVE CERTAINLY TAKEN GLASS TO THE FACE AND BEEN TOO YOUNG TO NOT PUT IT IN HER MOUTH IF IT DIDN'T IMMEDIATELY HURT HER. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE REMOTE START WAS USED AND I BELIEVE MY VEHICLES REAR DEFROSTERS WERE ENGAGED DURING THE REMOTE START.THE SMOKE STARTED IMMEDIATELY AND I SHUT IT OFF TO GET IT TO GO AWAY AND REMOVED THEM STAINED SNOW FROM THE AREA. THE GLASS EXPLODED ABOUT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD WITH NO OTHER WARNING SIGN. I SAW ONLINE THAT CANADA ALREADY HAS A RECALL OUT FOR THIS FIRE/SAFETY HAZARD AND I?M NOT SURE THE OUT OF POCKET REPLACEMENT WINDOW I GET WILL MAKE THE TRUCK ANY SAFER FOR ME AND MY KIDS. DISPLAY SCREEN GOES BLANK NO BACKUP CAMERA. COULD LAST HOURS
MY TRANSMISSION FAILED AND I COULDN'T GO OVER 40MPH. THE TRUCK WOULD JUMP AND BOUNCE AND MAKE LOUD SCREECHING NOISES. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS ALL THE TRANSMISSION. I ASKED A FAMILY FRIEND WHO IS A MECHANIC AND HE DIAGNOSED IT. HE CONCLUDED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WASN'T THE ONLY PROBLEM. THE MOTOR WAS HAVING DIFFICULTIES CHANGING FROM V8-V4 ALSO. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MANY PEOPLE THAT I NEED TO GET A TUNER TO DELETE THE COMPUTER PROGRAM THAT CHANGES THE AMOUNT OF CYLINDERS FIRING. I HAVE ALSO SEEN/HEARD TRUCKS THAT GO WITHOUT THE DELETE TOO LONG. ALSO, MY POWER STEERING WILL FAIL AT LOW SPEEDS WHILE TURNING. GM FAILS TO SEE THAT MY TRUCK HAS THIS ISSUE. SAYING IT DOESN'T AFFECT MY VIN.
THERMOSTAT CAUSED STRESS FRACTURES IN RADIATOR. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS IN 2018, I HAD THE RADIATOR AND THERMOSTAT REPLACED. I NOW HAD TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND THERMOSTAT FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 2020.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE IGNITION BUT, CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO IRA JACK CHEVROLET (884 PORTLAND RD, SACO, ME 04072; (207) 284-5986) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SHARK FIN ANTENNA WAS LEAKING INTO THE VEHICLE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ADDITIONALLY, THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO DRY OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
BRAKE POWER FAILURE, WHERE AS THE BRAKE BECAME STIFF AND IT WAS HARD TO BRING THE TRUCK TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE TRUCK WAS MOVING LESS THEN 10MPH AND HAD A UTILITY TRAILER ON THE HITCH. THE TRUCK WAS ON RESIDENTIAL ROAD. THIS HAPPENED TWICE MORE FOR A TOTAL OF THREE FAILURES UNDER SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES. MOVING UNDER 10 MPH ON SURFACE STREETS AND HAVING A CAMPER TRAILER ON THE HITCH OF THE TRUCK.
VEHICLE HAS TROUBLE BRAKING AT LOW SPEEDS, PEDAL BECOMES VERY STIFF AND ALMOST CAUSES A COLLISION, SEEMS TO BE THE VACUUM OR BRAKE BOOSTER
RADIATOR HAS STRESS CRACKS IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER. THE DEALER HAS DONE WATER PUMP REPLACEMENT AND THERMOSTATS UPGRADE. DEALER HAS REPLACED RADIATOR 3 TIMES AND I HAVE PAID LABOR AND PARTS. THE CRACKS OCCUR ABOUT EVERY 2 YEARS.
ALL ELECTRONICS SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING (IN MOTION) AT DIFFERENT DRIVING LOCATIONS. POWER COMPLETELY CUTS OUT AND CAR SHUTS OFF. TYPICALLY WHEN TURNING. MY VIN NUMBER NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL BUT DOING THE EXACT SAME THING.
HEAD LIGHT HOUSINGS MICRO CRACKING ON THE LENS. THIS ADVERSELY AFFECTS THE BRIGHTNESS AND SEEMS TO BLIND ON COMING DRIVERS! OVER TIME THESE CONTINUE TO GET WORSE. NOTE IN THE QUESTION "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN/" IT DOESN'T ALLOW OVER TIME SO I AM INSERTING TODAYS DATE
WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY VEHICLE SHUT OFF POWER, TRUCK STARTED TO SHAKE,COULD NOT TURN ALMOST GOT INTO ACCIDENT FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET TO CURB,ALL LIGHT WERE ON TRUCK,WOULDN'T START AGAIN.WAIT ALL MOST 1 HR.IT STARTED.TOOK IN TO CHEVY DEALERSHIP THREE TIME THEY KEPT SAY NOTHING WRONG ,DIAGNOSED BATTERY OK COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG..I WOULDN'T LEAVE ASK HIM TO CHECK NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE MECHANIC SAY OK.. NOW THEY LOOK INTO MORE COMPLETELY SAY ON MODULAR STARTING MECHANISM... NO RECALLS ON THIS THERE ARE QUITE OF PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS ONLINE. .SIMPLE FIX REPLACE NEGATIVE CABLE!!!!
AFTER TRAVELING 50 HIGHWAY MILES, WHEN I WAS MAKING A SLOW LEFT HAND TURN ONTO A RESIDENTIAL STREET, MY VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING, LOST POWER BRAKES, LOST ONSTAR, AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I PROCEEDED TO TURN MANUALLY AND STOP ENDING UP IN THE OPPOSITE LANE. IF A CAR WAS IN THE LANE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT. AFTER SOME TIME, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND I HAD NO PROBLEMS FOR NOW 8 DAYS. WHILE TRAVELLING AT SPEED, STABILITRAK WARNING INTERMITTENTLY CAME ON A FEW TIMES AND STEERING FELT LOOSE AT TIMES WHEN CHANGING LANES. VEHICLE WAS PART OF THE 17276 SAFETY RECALL ON 8/10/2017. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE 2018 AND HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM: ONCE FOR 17272 IN 2017, ONCE CLEARING CODES-PAID OVER $ 100 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC ANALYSIS THEY CLEARED CODES, NO REPAIR 9/30/2019, ONCE CANNOT REPEAT 9/03/2020, AND ONCE UPGRADING SOFTWARE 1/7/2020. SHORT TIME STABILITRAK WARNINGS ABS WARNING AND NOTICE TO RAISE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW UP AND DOWN CAME ON MULTIPLES TIMES. CLEARLY GM CHEV HAS NOT SOLVED THIS SOFTWARE LOGIC PROBLEM AND CANNOT FIX A CLEAR SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE.
LOST STEERING CAPABILITY WHILE MAKING A U-TURN ON A CITY STREET
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO DEPRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BUT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND COLLIDED INTO A TREE. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED HE HIT HIS HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND LOST CONSCIOUS. THE CONTACT DID NOT SEEK ANY MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE BACK TO HIS RESIDENCE. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS ASSOCIATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 57,110.
WHILE DRIVING, THE "SERVICE TRAILER BRAKES SYSTEM" KEPT COMING ON. THERE WAS A VISUAL AND AUDIO WARNING CHIME THAT WOULD NOT STOP. INSTEAD OF A SINGLE NOTIFICATION TO THE DRIVER, THE INTERMITTENT CONNECTION WOULD RESULT IN THE ERROR MESSAGE CONTINUOUSLY RE-APPEARING AND CHIMING. THIS WAS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING AND COULD INCREASE RISK OF CRASH. I REMOVED THE BRAKE GAIN CONTROLLER FROM THE DASH AND FOUND CORROSION ON AN ELECTRICAL CONTACT STRIP. AFTER CLEANING IT WITH ELECTRONICS CLEANER, THE ERROR MESSAGE WENT AWAY.
STABILITRAK OFF WINDOW RANDOMLY APPEARED ON MY DASH. FOLLOWED BY RADIO SHUTTING OFF, WIPERS GOING ERRATICALLY, HORN HONKING, STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, AND CRUISE CONTROL SHUT OFF ALL AS I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY
WHEN I'M DRIVING THE TRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL TURN TO THE RIGHT SIDE VERY DANGEROUS WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING 45 TO 70 MILES I'M CALL THE DEALER AND NO RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM
IN AUGUST TRUCK WAS SERVICED FOR BRAKE ASSIST RECALL. WITHIN A WEEK I HAD SMALL SIGNS OF BRAKE ISSUES RETURNING ( BOOSTER NOISE, INTERMITTENT HARD PEDAL). ITS NOW THE FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST AND I HAVE A ROCK SOLID BREAK PEDAL MAKING TRUCK NOT SAFE TO DRIVE..TO PUT MY TRUCK BACK ON ROAD IM RESPONSIBLE FOR $600 DOLLAR REPAIR.
WHILE BACKING UP OR PARKED STEERING WHEEL GETS REALLY HARD AND THE LIGHTS GO DIM RADIO TURNS OFF AND A SIGN IN THE MONITOR SHOWING STEERING ASSIST IS REDUCED DRIVE WITH CARE
REAR WINDOW LEAKING, WATER COMING IN ON REAR SEAT & ROOF.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE STREET EVERY TIME I SLOWED DOWN TO DO A TURN OR STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND MY TRUCK TURNED OFF ON ITS OWN. IT ONLY DID THIS WHEN I SLOWED DOWN TO TURN AND TO STOP. IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES BACK TO BACK.
MULTIPLE TIMES MOVING AT SLOW SPEEDS THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF AND ALL KINDS OF WARNINGS POP UP. SERVICE POWER STEERING, SERVICE STABILITRAK, SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ECT. WHEN THE VEHICLE DOES THIS IT LOSES ALL POWER AND THE STEERING WHEEL VIOLENTLY JERKS ITSELF TO ONE SIDE. YOU CAN TELL WHEN IT'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING WILL INTERMITTENTLY START TO STRUGGLE AND GO OUT AND THEN THE WHOLE THING SHUTS DOWN. SILVERADO 2014 CREW CAB 5.3 WITH 79500 MILES
NUMEROUS INCIDENTS WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A TURN INTO A PUBLIC PARKING LOT FROM A 55 MPH HWY, ALL POWER WENT OFF, ENGINE DIED AND JUST BEFORE THIS STEERING WAS VERY HARD TO TURN, STABIL TRACK LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON. GM DEALER STATED MAYBE BAD BATTERY, I HAD THE NEW BATTERY CHECKED AND IT IS GOOD
TRUCK LOSES POWERING STEERING IN SLOW TURN MANEUVERS. ALSO OCCASIONALLY THE TRUCK WILL LOSE ALL POWER AND TURN OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. IN ADDITION HEADLIGHTS AND PANEL LIGHTS DIM WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKING.
MY TRUCK ISN'T CHANGING GEARS LIKE IT SHOULD AND JERKS WHEN I SLOW DOWN AND APPLY THE BRAKES. MY MECHANIC SAID MY TRANSMISSION IS BAD AND THERE'S A RECALL ON MY MAKE & MODEL TRUCK

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE STIBILI-TRAC WARNING LIGHT FLASHED WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL BEFORE THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC, SEVERAL DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS WERE DISPLAYED WHILE THE DOORS ERRONEOUSLY UNLOCKED. THE DRIVER ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE AND SWITCHING TO THE PARK POSITION, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUTOFF AND COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER ATLANTIC CADILLAC LOCATED AT 1350 SUNRISE HWY, BAYSHORE, NY 11706, HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
WHILE DRIVING HOME, A STABILITRAK WARNING APPEARED ON THE DASH AND MY AC/RADIO BEGAN TO STOP BUT RAMPED BACK UP AFTER THE DISMISSAL. ONCE I GOT TO MY STREET, I MADE A LEFT AND THE TRUCK COMPLETED TURNED OFF. MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, THE WHEEL LOCKED UP, AND THERE WAS NO POWER TO THE VEHICLE. AFTER ABOUT 3 MINUTES, THE VEHICLE LIGHTS TURNED ON AND I WAS ABLE TO GET TO MY DRIVEWAY. I CANNOT IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF I WAS ON THE FREEWAY. THERE'S MANY OTHER PEOPLE ON THE WEB THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS TRUCK.
AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASH CAME ON, THERE HAS BEEN NO CRASHES WITH THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK WAS PARKED AND WHEN I WENT TO DRIVE IT THE FOLLOWING DAY THE LIGHT WAS ON.
MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND LOST CONTROL OF STEERING
STARTED MAKING A TURN AND THE TRUCK INSTANTLY SHUT OFF LEADING TO POWER STEERING LOSS CAUSING ME TO END UP IN THE OPPOSING LANE ALMOST HITTING TWO CHILDREN AND THEIR FATHER ON BIKES. FATHER DIDN'T HAVE MUCH PATIENCE WITH ME TRYING TO EXPLAIN THAT IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRUCK... FIX THIS ISSUE OR ELSE IT WILL BECOME A HUGE LIABILITY. BUY BACK ALL OF THESE TRUCKS AND CRUSH THEM.
I GOT A STABILITRAK FAILURE CHIME AND MESSAGE WITH A REDUCED STEERING ASSIST MESSAGE AND I LOST MY POWER ASSIST FOR A SECOND THEN IT CAME BACK. I WAS FORTUNATE THAT IT WAS JUST MYSELF IN THE TRUCK GOING SLOW AND PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT. I'D HATE TO THINK OF MY WIFE BEHIND THE WHEEL GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY WITH MY GRAND KIDS INSIDE.

WHEN THE VEHICLE DOES THIS IT LOSES ALL POWER AND THE STEERING WHEEL VIOLENTLY JERKS ITSELF TO ONE SIDE. YOU CAN TELL WHEN IT'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING WILL INTERMITTENTLY START TO STRUGGLE AND GO OUT AND THEN THE WHOLE THING SHUTS DOWN. PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT A LOCAL GAS STATION IT ALMOST JERKED ME INTO A PARKED CAR. LUCKILY IT HASN'T HAPPENED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED OR IT WILL CERTAINLY LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON THE NET ON MULTIPLE FORUMS FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE FOR THESE SPECIFIC MODELS AND YEARS. MY TRUCK HAS ROUGHLY 44000 MILES ON IT. I FEEL AS IF I'M GETTING THE RUNAROUND AT THE DEALERSHIP. LIKE I STATED EARLIER THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES TO ME AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OUT THERE IN THE SAME SITUATION AS ME. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN THAT GM NEEDS TO ADDRESS AND FIX.
MY AIR CONDITIONING CONTINUES TO GO OUT AND LEAK OUT THE FLUIDS,I HAVE HAD THE SYSTEM CHECKED AND A LEAK COULD NOT BE FOUND. I LIVE IN AZ.AND NEED COOLING WHILE USING MY VEHICLE. THE LACK OF COOLING CAUSES ME TO GET OVER HEATED AND EVEN CAUSES ME TO BECOME PHYSICALLY ILL, I SHOULD HAVE A GOOD WORKING SYSTEM,I HAVE RESEARCH AND ALL 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. LOSS OF POWER TO VEHICLE WHEN MAKING TURNS AT LOW SPEEDS ON CITY ROADS, IN PARKING LOTS, AND ON AND OFF HIGHWAYS, YOU HAVE TO PLACE VEHICLE IN PARK AND TURN BACK ON. STEERING ASSIST AND STABILITRAK HAS BEEN BECOMING DISABLED ON A REGULAR BASIS ALONG WITH THE STEERING WHEEL BEING JERKED OUT OF MY HANDS WHILE MAKING TURNS ON CITY STREETS, IN PARKING LOTS, AND ON AND OFF THE HIGHWAY. SERVICE STABILITRAK AND STEERING ASSIST MESSAGES ARE DISPLAYED DURING THESE TIME HOWEVER DO NOT LEAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NO TO BE SCANNED. GM DEALER STATES THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AND ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX IT. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD.
WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE I WILL LOSE POWER STEERING AND STABILITY CONTROL WARNING COMES ON. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR MONTHS NOW. TODAY WHILE DRIVING WHEN I PUT MY BLINKER ON THE STABILITY CONTROL WARNING WENT ON MY LIGHTS DIMMED AND TRUCK WAS SHUTTING OFF BUT THEN CAME BACK ON. WHEN TURNING THE STABILITY CONTROL CAME ON AND MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. IF I WASN'T GOING DOWN A LOW TRAFFIC STREET I WOULD HAVE CRASHED. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH THE AC ON WHEN GETTING ON MY BRAKES THE HEADLIGHTS DIM STEERING WHEEL WILL LOCK UP AND THE STABILITY CONTROL WILL COME ON AND TRIES TO KILL THE MOTOR. THIS FOR THE MOST TIME HAPPENS WHEN GETTING IN MY DRIVEWAY, TODAY WAS THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS.

SOMETIMES WHEN I HOLD DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL SOME ELECTRICAL ISSUE HAPPENES AND MY STEERING WHEEL GETS VERY HARD MY AC TURNS OFF MY WHOLE DASHBOARD TURNS OFF AND SO DOES MY RADIO THEN AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS IT TURNS BACK ON. I ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN I'M ROLLING UP THE WINDOWS MY HEADLIGHTS DIM. I THINK SOMETHINGS WRONG WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OF THE VEHICLE I HAD THE BATTERY CHECKED ONCE AND IT WAS NOT THE VOLTAGE IT NEEDED I REPLACED IT WITH THE BATTERY FROM THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS WELL FOR ABOUT THREE MONTHS AND THE ISSUE REOCCURRED. WHEN I AM REVERSING MY STEERING WHEEL GETS VERY HARD AS I'M PRESSING ON THE PEDAL WHILE I'M PARKING IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME BUT IT DOES DO IT FREQUENTLY.
WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A PUBLIC PARKING LOT, AT A SLOW TURN THE TRUCK STOPPED DEAD. NO POWER, BARELY WAS ABLE TO STOP WITHOUT HITTING PARKED VEHICLES. TO MAKE IT EVEN MORE DANGEROUS THAN IT ALREADY WAS, ANOTHER CAR ALMOST HIT ME BECAUSE OF MY SUDDEN STOP. I WAS THEN TRAPPED IN MY PICKUP. WINDOWS AND DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN. NO RESPONSE FROM TURNING THE KEY. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME ITS HAPPENED AND BOTH WERE AT LOW SPEEDS. THE FIRST TIME I THOUGHT IT WAS MY ERROR. I LOOKED IT UP ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND FOUND MANY OTHERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. SOME PEOPLE SAID NO RECALL ON SUCH A 'COMMON' AND UNSAFE PROBLEM, ANOTHER SAID THERE WAS A RECALL OPEN. I WAS TOLD BY GM HEADQUARTERS NO RECALL. TOLD BY SERVICE MGR AT THE DEALERSHIP, TOLD ME THERE IS A RECALL ISSUED. ONLY AFTER I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TELL ME IT'LL COST ME $364. I ASKED ABOUT WHAT HE TOLD ME ONLY 3 DAYS EARLIER OF THE RECALL, HE THEN DENIED IT. WITH THE SEVERITY OF THE PROBLEM AND THE NUMBERS OF PERSONS WHO COMPLAINED, I WOULD THINK THIS SHOULD BE AT CHEVY'S EXPENSE. I WILL BE TAKING THE TRUCK ON VACATION THE END OF THE MONTH. IF SOMETHING SHOULD HAPPEN, I'VE INSTRUCTED OUR TWO CHILDREN TO SECURE A GOOD LAWYER AND OPEN A WRONGFUL DEATH/INJURY SUIT. I WILL HAVE DOCUMENTATION OF THE INFORMATION I REVIEWED THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA COMMENTS ALONG WITH THIS COMPLAINT AND THE REPAIRS BY THIS 'CERTIFIED' DEALERSHIP AT THEIR READY.

ALREADY HAD THE MODULE UPDATE AND BRAKES ARE STILL SHUTTERING AND LOSING PRESSURE AT LOW SPEEDS. BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AND GETS SUPER HARD. THIS SAME THING WAS HAPPENING BEFORE THE MODULE UPDATE RECALL WAY LAST YEAR.
WHILE BACKING THE CAMPER INTO A CAMP SITE WITH A SLIGHT UPGRADE, WHEN I MOVING FORWARD TO STRAIGHTEN THE TRUCK, THE BRAK PEDAL BECAME HARD TO PUSH DOWN. EACH TIME I PRESSED THE BRAKES, IT BECAME HARDER TO PRESS, AND I FELT A PULSING SENSATION PUSHING BACK UP ON THE PEDAL. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, IT BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO PUSH DOWN ON THE PEDAL. I WAS MOVING UNDER 1 MPH AT THE TIME WITH NOTHING IN MY WAY. AFTER BACKING UP AGAIN, I TRIED IT AGAIN WITH THE SAME RESULTS. THIS TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER PREVIOUSLY FOR THE RECALL LISTED FOR BRAKING BOOSTER THAT REQUIRED RECALIBRATING THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE. I BELIEVE THE SERVICE EITHER DIDN'T WORK, OR IT CREATED A NEW PROBLEM. THE WEATHER WAS CLEAR, WARM, AND EVERYTHING WAS DRY. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY OTHER BRAKING PROBLEMS.
TWICE NOW WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT AND ALSO ON A STREET MAKING A TURN, THE ELECTRICAL FLASHED, TURNED OFF AND THEN THE TRUCK DIED, LOCKING THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS TWOCE SAID BATTERY, BUT BASED ON SO MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE ON MANY CEHVY FORUMS, THIS IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND NEEDS A RECALL. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!
