A 2017 CHEVY SILVERADO WITH A 5.3L AT 80000 MILES THE WATER PUMP WENT BAD I HAD A 2006 SAME TRUCK AND IT WAS 200000+ .MILES BEFORE I HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS ISSUE. I DON'T KNOW IF I'M THE ONLY ONE THAT HAD THE WATER PUMP ISSUE SO SOON OR IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS TRUCK THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO, ALSO EXCESSIVE NOISES FROM THE TRANSMITION WHEN UP OR DOWN SHIFTING AT LOW SPEEDS AND IS LIKE IF STRUGGLED TO DOWN SHIFT WHEN YOU NEED IT LIKE WHEN YOU NEED TO PASS A CAR IN FRONT OF YOU MOST TIMES YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT EXCESSIVE THROTLE AND ONLY THEN IT DOWNSHIFTS IN A VIOLENT MANNER, AGAIN DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IS ONLY HAPPENING TO ME OR IF THERE IS SOMEONE ELSE OUT THERE WITH THE SAME TRUCK HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES, THANKS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, A MOTORCYCLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF HIS VEHICLE. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD, FAILING TO STOP THE VEHICLE IN TIME. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE MOTORCYCLE. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS INJURED AND TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND IMPOUNDED. AN INVESTIGATION WAS CONDUCTED BY THE STATE POLICE AND THE OTHER DRIVER'S LAWYERS, WHICH WILL CONCLUDE ON 10/29/19. THE CONTACT DID NOT YET KNOW THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE TO HIS VEHICLE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD JUST PURCHASED THE USED VEHICLE THREE MONTHS AGO IN JUNE OF 2019. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) TWO WEEKS AFTER THE CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
POWER BRAKE FAILURE PEDAL IS DIFFICULT TO PUSH TAKES LONGER TO STOP VEHICLE BRAKE PEDAL SEEMS HIGHER HAVE TO BREAK WITH 2 FEET
TRUCK DOWN AND UPSHIFTS HARD. WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOR A CAR IN FRONT OF ME, WHEN I GET BACK ON THE GAS, THE TRUCK HAS NO POWER LIKE IT CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT GEAR TO BE IN. MAKES A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE WITH LIGHT ACCELERATION FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. THERE IS MAJOR HESITATION WHEN TRYING TO DOWN SHIFT NO MATTER WHAT GEAR I'M IN. PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED. BEEN TO CHEVY 3 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND ALL THEY TELL ME IS THE TRANSMISSION WILL LEARN HOW YOU DRIVE. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THERE IS NO NEW UPDATE FOR THE TRANSMISSION MODULE SO I'M SCREWED.
GOING FROM 40 TO 5MPH BREAKS FEEL LIKE IS LOCKING FOR COUPLE OF SECOND AND BACK TO NORMAL,ANY SPEED BEFORE STOPS TRUCK HAS A LITTLE HESITATION BEFORE BREAKING.
TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY, HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED SEVERAL TIMES, THEY FLUSHED THE TRANS 2 OR 3 TIMES THEN FINALLY REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION WITH AROUND 60,000 MILES. NOW I'M AT 70,000 MILES AND HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AGAIN. IT SURGES BETWEEN GEARS, SOMETIMES FEELS LIKE I'VE BEEN REAR ENDED AND SOMETIMES SEEMS TO SKIP A GEAR AND BE IN NEUTRAL FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE CLUCKING INTO GEAR.
PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF LIGHT INOPERABLE. CHECK 4 WHEEL DRIVE WARNING COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY. DEALER CHARGED $138.00 BUT COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS. THIS OCCURS WHEN DRIVING.
IN MOTION. TRANSMISSION HARD SLIP/KICK RANDOMLY. ALSO AC CONDENSER CRACKED AND LEAKED OUT ALL FREON AT 50000MILES. *TR
STEERING COLUMN FAILURE CAUSING SLOW SPEED ACCIDENT IN PARKING LOT AND INVOLVING LOSS OF STEERING AND IMPACT WITH LAMP POST. VEHICLE DAMAGE TO BUMPER AND DRIVER SIDE FRONT FENDER BUT NOT INVOLVING FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL, SO STEERING COLUMN FAILURE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY INCIDENT. VEHICLE THEN HAD NO STEERING CONTROL AND IS UNDRIVEABLE.
FUEL INJECTOR OR FUEL PUMP DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. ON TWO (2) DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, MONTHS APART, MY ENGINE HAS LOST POWER AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. BOTH TIMES AT LOW SPEEDS 10 - 15 MPH AND LOW RPMS. THIS HAS NEARLY CAUSED ME TO CRASH INTO ONE VEHICLE AND FOR ANOTHER TO ALMOST HIT ME FROM BEHIND AS MY CAR DIED WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN OFF A BUSY ROAD. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED IN TWICE, BUT THE DEALERSHIP AND GM BOTH SAY UNLESS THEY CAN DUPLICATE THE ISSUE THEY WILL NOT FIX OR REPLACE ANYTHING. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED/REVIEWED. ON TOP OF THIS, THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE VACUUM PUMP FOR THE BRAKES AND DO A SOFTWARE PATCH UPDATE BECAUSE THE BACKUP CAMERA WAS DANGEROUSLY BRIGHT, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. THE CAMERA ISSUE TOOK 2 VISITS TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS TO GET RESOLVED. GM IS PLAYING THE NUMBERS GAME OF HOPING FOR A FINE INSTEAD OF PAYING TO REPLACE ANY PARTS. ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY ARE DEALING WITH A PR BATTLE ABOUT MAKING CARS OUTSIDE OF THE USA. THEY TOOK THE BAILOUT MONEY AND SCREWED AMERICANS.
CLAIM BEING REPORTED ON BEHALF OF NJM INSURANCE COMPANY FOR OUR INSURED, FRANK ZABORNEY. MR. ZABORNEY WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND STATED THAT DUE TO THE RECALL FOR THE BRAKES, THAT IS WHAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT.
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 22 WHERE I SLAMMED INTO THE BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. I HAD AT LEAST 40 FEET TO STOP AND I LITERALLY STOOD ON TEH BRAKES AND TRUCK BARELY SLOWED DOWN AND BEFORE COLLIDING WITH THE OTHER VEHICLE. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GM A FEW MONTHS AGO SAYING THE BRAKE ASSIST PUMP MAY BE FAULTY AND THAT I COULD GET IT REPLACED EVEN THOUGH IF IT WERE TO FAIL THE TRUCK WOULD STILL BRAKE WITHIN "STANDARD". I DIDNT THINK ANYTHING OF IT SINCE IT WASN'T DESCRIBED AS AN EMERGENCY AND I THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE TI TAKEN CARE OF THE NEXT TIME I TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR SERVICE. MY WIFE HAD COMMENTED ON MY BRAKES FEELING SPONGY. AFTER THE WRECK I WAS SO DISTURBED BY HOW POORLY THE TRUCK RESPONDED TO FORCIBLY DEPRESSING THE BRAKES PEDAL THAT I STARTED RESEARCHING AND I FOUND WHERE NHTSA WAS INVESTIGATING THIS VERY ISSUE IN THE 2014-16 SILVERADOS AND I FEEL STRONGLY THAT MY ISSUE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS INVESTIGATION. THE TRUCK SHOULD HAVE STOPPED AND I THINK A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. THE BRAKES DO NO OPERATE WITHIN "STANDARD" WHEN THE BRAKE ASSIST PUMP STOPS WORKING.
MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBERN192268490 NHTSA RECALL NUMBER19V645 ON AUGUST 14, 2014, I WAS DRIVING THE 2017 CHEVY SILVERADO 4X4 WORK TRUCK ON A RURAL STATE ROUTE IN HOLMES COUNTY, OHIO. I HAD PULLED OFF ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO PICK UP MY TRAFFIC COUNTING EQUIPMENT. ONCE I WAS FINISHED, I PULLED INTO A DRIVEWAY TO TURN AROUND. I BEGAN TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ROCK HARD, I LOST ALL PEDAL AND HAD NO BRAKES. I HIT THE GUARDRAIL THAT WAS DIRECTLY BEHIND ME WHEN I COULDN'T STOP. NO DAMAGE TO THE GUARDRAIL, BUT PLENTY OF DAMAGE TO MY TRUCK. OBVIOUSLY, I DIDN'T THINK THIS WAS RIGHT SO THE VERY NEXT DAY I TOOK THE TRUCK TO PROGRESSIVE CHEVROLET. AFTER TECHS HAD A CHANCE TO LOOK OVER THE VEHICLE, THEY SAID THE VACUUM PUMP WAS DEFECTIVE AND IT WAS REPLACED AT NO COST TO ME. THAT'S ALL WELL AND GOOD, BUT HAD THE VACUUM PUMP NOT FAILED, I WOULD NOT HAVE HIT THE GUARDRAIL.
2017 1500 SILVERADO, JERKS, SURGES, DURING ACCELERATION. NOW AND THEN I GET A LOUD THUD IN THE REAR LIKE I GOT REAR-ENDED. WHEN COMING TO A STOP FROM 2ND TO 1ST.
I WAS PARKING MY TRAVEL TRAILER ON A CAMP SITE AND READJUSTING. I PULLED AHEAD DOWN A SLIGHT INCLINE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR IN THE TRUCK. I PUSHED THE PEDAL AS HARD AS I COULD AND STOPPED JUST BEFORE HITTING ANOTHER CAMPER. PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND TRIED THE BRAKES AGAIN AND THE PEDAL PRESSURE WAS BACK. I WAS THEN ABLE TO FINISH ADJUSTING AND IT DID NOT HAVE THE BRAKE ISSUE AGAIN. IT WAS VERY SCARY WITH KIDS AROUND ETC.
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and slowing down, the vehicle would suddenly lose motive power and stall. The contact indicated that the failure only occurred while making either a right or left turn. The contact stated that during the failure, a message to raise or lower the window was displayed. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle would operate as designed. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 15,000.
TRUCK MAKES A CLICKING SOUND WHEN TURNING AT VERY SLOW SPEEDS OR WHEN STOPPED AND TURNING THE WHEEL.
BRAKES SQUEAKED AND TIGHT AND NOT FUNCTIONING RIGHT
AT LOW ENGINE RPM THE BRAKE FORCE BECOMES EXTREMELY EXCESSIVE. WHILE BACKING DOWN A LONG BOAT RAMP LAST WEEK THIS OCCURRED AND MY WIFE COULD NOT PRESS HARD ENOUGH TO STOP THE VEHICLE RESULTING IN A COLLISION TO AVOID THE VEHICLE GOING INTO THE WATER. I CONTACTED CHEVROLET AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE.
MY 2017 SIVERADO WITH LESS THAN 50,000 MILES IS AT THE DEALERSHIP, DUE TO A DEFECTIVE FUEL INJECTOR ON THE #7 CYLINDER. I AM BEING TOLD IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, AND THAT I WILL HAVE TO BARE THE COST OF THE REPAIR. I DO NOT FEEL THAT ON A TWO YEAR OLD VEHICLE, THAT THE FUEL INJECTOR SHOULD FAIL, NOR SHOULD I BARE THE COST OF REPLACEMENT. I AM NOT ASKING FOR A RESOLUTION, I JUST WANT OTHER TO BE AWARE OF THE DEFECT.
DRIVING FROM CONNECTICUT TO SOUTH CAROLINA MY TRUCK DEVELOPED A BAD VIBRATION BETWEEN 45MPH TO 70MPH. THE DEALER SAYS THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE FLUSHED. THIS VEHICLE HAS 34K FOR MILES. THEY CLAIM THAT NO DAMAGE IS BEING DONE TO THE TRANSMISSION. THIS I BELIEVE IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP AND MY FAMILY AND I ARE STRANDED WHILE THEY CLAIM THAT GM NEEDS READING BEFORE THEY CAN FLUSH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID.
TRANSMISSION HAS STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY.
I WAS TOWING MY TRAVEL TRAILER AND THE BRAKES FAILED,I TOTALED THE CAMPER IN FRONT OF ME.THE NOTIFICATION LETTER FROM GM SAID EVEN IN THE HARD PEDAL SITUATION THE BRAKES ARE STILL IN SAFETY SPECS, NOT WITH A 7,000 LB TRAILER BEHIND THE TRUCK.I FEEL GM SHOULD COVER THE COSTS OF DAMAGE AND UPDATE THE LATEST NOTIFICATION LETTER TO INCLUDE LETTING THE PEOPLE WHO TOW KNOW THEY AREN'T GOING TO STOP IN TIME. ALSO GM PULLED THE DATA FROM MY TRUCK, THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, AND DIDN'T INSPECT THE VACUUM PUMP OR THE HOOD, BUMPER, GRILL OR FENDERS ALL WERE THROWN AWAY. THE INVESTIGATOR THAT PULLED THE DATA SAID IT WAS INCOMPLETE YET GM SAYS IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM THERE WERE NO CODES PRESENT AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE IN MOTION, AT LOW SPEEDS (UNDER 10 MPH), THE BRAKES FAIL TO SLOW OR STOP THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE BRAKE PEDAL IS FULLY DEPRESSED WHICH UNEXPECTEDLY REQUIRES MORE EFFORT THAN BRAKING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. EVEN WITH THE PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED, IT STILL DOES NOT STOP THE VEHICLE WITHIN THE EXPECTED STOPPING RANGE.
BACKING UP MY TRUCK, AT SLOW SPEED DOWN A BOAT RAMP, MY BRAKE PEDAL AUTHORITY WENT TO ZERO. I HAD NO BRAKES DURING BACKING MY BOAT IN GULF OF MEXICO. I HAD TO STAND ON PEDAL WITH ALL OF MY WEIGHT JUST TO SLOW IT LONG ENOUGH SO I COULD PUT ON PARKING BRAKE. I CALLED DEALER TO INQUIRE IF THIS WAS A PROBLEM, AND THEY SAID I HAD TO WAIT TWO WEEKS TO EVEN GET IT IN THERE TO LOOK AT IT. UNACCEPTABLE. LOSS OF BRAKING CAN KILL OCCUPANTS IN THESE VEHICLES. IN MY CASE, I WOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER WATER AND POSSIBLY DROWNED.
NO BRAKES AT LOW SPEED AND A HARD PEDAL. POSSIBLY VACUUM PUMP FAILURE.
MY 2017 SILVERADO 1500, WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT WAS IDLING ROUGH AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME. SO WHEN I BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN FOR A SECOND RECALL. THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD DO A DIAGNOSTIC. WELL THEY SAID IT WAS MISS FIRING DUE TO BAD FUEL INJECTOR CYLINDER 8 WASN'T WORKING SO THEY GAVE ME A PRICE OF 1500 TO FIX THE PROBLEM UNFORTUNATELY WE JUST GOT OUT FROM THE FACTORY WARRANTY AND HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT DIDN'T COVER FUEL INJECTORS SO WE PUT LUCAS FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER AND IT HELPED. IT SEEMS AS IF THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS REASON.
MY FAMILY WAS STUCK IN TRAFFIC IN CHARLOTTE AT RUSH HOUR 8-18-18 WE HAD PUSH THE TRUCK ACROSS 4 LANES IT DIED IT STARTED 20 MINUITES LATER AND DONE IT AGAIN DOWN THE ROAD WE PUSHED AGAIN WAITED IT STARTED I DROVE IT HOME 2.5 HOURS WITH NO PROBLEM TOOK IT TO DEALER SHIP THEY SAID COMPUTER SHOWED NOTHING TODAY 7-19-19 IT DONE IT AGAIN AFTER SETTING IN TRAFFIC WE PUSHED OUT OF THE ROAD IT STARTED 20 MINUTES LATER SO THIS TIME I HAD IT TOWED I HAVE TO SMALL KIDS THIS IS NOT SAFE SO ITS AT THE DEALER NOW IT HAS 8000 MILES ON IT
TAKATA RECALL , I WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET AND HIT A DEER WHEN MY AIR BAG SENSOR WENT OFF IN MY DASH AND CAUTION LIGHTS AND SOME LIGHT WOULD NOT SHUT OFF BUT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY
WHEN TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS THE BRAKING SYSTEM FAILS. THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT RESPONSIVE. YOU MUST APPLY MAXIMUM FORCE TO TRY AND STOP THE VEHICLE. I WAS PARALLEL PARKING AND HIT A MAILBOX CAUSING DAMAGE TO MY REAR RIGHT FENDER BECAUSE THE TRUCK DID NOT STOP PROPERLY. I HAD THE TRUCK CHECKED AND THEY OLD ME IT WAS A FAULTY VACCUM PUMP. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL TRUCK.
TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING AT 72000 MILES, REPLACEMENT OR REBUILD.
The transmission in my truck has been giving me problems off and on since I purchased it a few years back. I have told the dealer about it and they said they could not find a problem and that's because it is very sporadic when it happens. What is happening is it shifts really hard like it's not in gear when you hit the gas and then it just takes off, it is to the point where now it Jenks really hard when shifting and it also has been downshifting for no reason. There are no warnings alarms or messages displayed and yes it can be inspected but the couple times I asked them being Sterling Buick GMC they tell me the techs can not duplicate the issue and that's because it does not happen all the time. THE REAR SEAT IN THE CREW CAB VERSION SEATS 3 ACROSS BUT HAS ONE 2 HEAD RESTS. THE 2 HEAD RESTS THAT ARE THERE, ARE ENTIRELY TOO SHORT TO PROVIDE ANY PROTECTION. SINCE THIS IS A CREW CAB WITH SEATING FOR 3 IN THE REAR, THERE SHOULD BE PROPER HEAD PROTECTION FOR EACH PASSENGER. THE TOP OF THE REAR HEAD REST IS ONLY 28" FROM THE SEAT BOTTOM. WAY TOO SHORT FOR MOST PASSENGERS.

BRAKES DID NOT KICK IN WHEN I TRIED TO AVOID HITTING A CAR THAT SLAMMED THEIR BRAKES ON IN FRONT OF ME. THIS CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, IN WHICH I HAD $8000 + DOLLARS IN FRONT END DAMAGE THAT MY INSURANCE CARRIER PROVIDED. I HAD TO PAY $1000 IN DEDUCTIBLES ALONG WTIH $500 IN RENTALS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE DEALER SMEDLEY'S CHEVROLET (937) 412-1316, AND THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WERE TAKING CARE OF THE COLD WEATHER STATES FIRST. THE CONTACT STATED PARTS WERE SHIPPED TO COLD WEATHER STATES IN NOVEMBER 2019. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HE COULD DRIVE 200 MILES TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIRS PERFORMED IN ANOTHER STATE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
TRAVELING APPROX 30MPH, ON A CITY STREET, ANOTHER VEHICLE TURNED LEFT IN FRONT OF ME, I DID NOT EVEN HAVE TIME TO HIT THE BRAKES. BOTH THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED BUT THE DRIVER SEATBELT DID NOT LOCK UP. I CAME COMPLETELY OUT OF THE DRIVERS SEAT, MY CHEST HIT THE AIRBAG AND MY LOWER ABDOMEN AND UPPER THIGHS WERE BRUISED BADLY FROM HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL. I ALSO HAD NECK PAIN FOR 2 DAYS AFTERWARD. I HAD A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT AND THAT SEATBELT LOCKED, THE PASSENGER WAS NOT INJURED AND ONLY A LITTLE SORE IN THE NECK AND BACK THE NEXT DAY.
VERY HARD SHIFT GOING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR AND FROM 2ND GEAR TO 1ST GEAR. THE SHIFT WAS SO HARD THAT THE TIRES MADE A CHIRPING NOISE AND HARDLY ANY THROTTLE WAS BEING USED.
MY WIFE TOOK THE SERVICE RECALL LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALERSHIP (SANTA FE CHEVROLET/CADILLAC IN SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO) INFORMED MY WIFE THAT SINCE MY VEHICLE HAS 70,00 MILES THEY WOULD NOT SERVICE THE RECALL FOR FREE AND INSTEAD WOULD CHARGE US $960 DOLLARS. SUBSEQUENTLY WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THE VEHICLE IN OVER SIX WEEKS. THIS IS SIMPLY UNTENABLE. PLEASE HELP US AS IT IS UNSAFE TO OPERATE THIS VEHICLE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT MY WIFE SPOKE WITH WHEN TAKING THE VEHICLE IN IS [XXX] ON MAY 24, 2019. I HAVE REPEATEDLY TRIED TO GET THE GENERAL MANAGER TO HELP ME REMEDY THIS SITUATION. RECEIVED A LETTER FROM CHEVROLET ADVISING OF A POTENTIAL PROBLEM WITH BRAKES, INCREASED BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE AND STOPPING DISTANCE. WENT TO DEALER AND WAS INFORMED I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED AT MY EXPENSE TO DETERMINE PROBLEM. CHEVROLET CORPORATE INFORMED ME THIS WAS CORRECT. MY COMPLAINT IS WHY AM I BEING CHARGED THIS WHEN CHEVROLET KNOWS THEY HAVE A PROBLEM , THAT IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS.
BRAKES NOT EFFECTIVE WHEN STOPPING AT LOW SPEEDS. DEALERSHIP REPAIRED, STATED IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT NOT A RECALL AND A VACUUM ASSIST ISSUE. I WAS INVOLVED IN A TRAFFIC COLLISION AT LOW SPEED ON THE INTERSTATE. ABS DID NOT ENGAGE AND I WAS UNABLE TO STOP COLLIDING WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME.
LOSS OF BRAKES WHEN BACKING UP. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES DURING LOW SPEED REVERSE OR WHEN BACKING DOWN AN INCLINE, THE BRAKES BECAME VERY HARD TO DEPRESS AND DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE DOWN UNTIL I EXERTED CONSIDERABLE FORCE WITH BOTH LEGS. THIS HAS HAPPENED BOTH WHEN REVERSING WITH A TRAILER AND WHEN REVERSING WITHOUT A TRAILER. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT OCCURRED ON MAY 17, 2019 WHEN BACKING A BOAT AND TRAILER DOWN AN INCLINE AT A BOAT LAUNCH RAMP. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BEFORE IT ENTERED THE WATER, BUT IT TOOK CONSIDERABLE FORCE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I ALERTED THE DEALERSHIP, KOLAR CHEVROLET DULUTH, OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE TWICE IN 2018 AND AGAIN MOST RECENTLY ON MAY 23, 2019. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND STATED THEY WOULD NOT TAKE FURTHER ACTION UNLESS THEY WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE.
AS I WAS APPROACHING A STOP SIGN BREAK DID NOT KICK IN FULLY UNTIL ABOUT 6 FEET FROM WHERE I INITIALLY ACTIVATED BREAK. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION IN PUBLIC STREET.

LOSS OF BRAKING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. VEHICLE BRAKES ARE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO PRESS IN SLOW MOVING STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. THE ABS SEEMS TO KICK IN BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO ROLL FORWARD. SPEED WOULD BE AROUND 10 MPH. BRAKING IS OK AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS BUT LOSING ABLILITY TO BRAKE AT LOW SPEED. NEAR MISS ON REAR ENDING SEVERAL VEHICLES.

THE ENGINE BLOCK HEATER CORD WAS RECALLED ON MY 2017 CHEVY DURAMAX DIESEL. I BROUGHT MY TRUCK TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP ON AUGUST 21, 2019 FOR THE RECALL AND THE CORD WAS SIMPLY CUT OFF. AT THAT TIME THERE WAS NOT A REMEDY FOR THE RECALL. I CALLED CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE TODAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2019, TO CHECK ON THIS RECALL AS THE TEMPERATURE IN KANSAS IS BECOMING VERY COLD AND I AM NEEDING THE ENGINE BLOCK HEATER. I SPOKE WITH SABRINA AND HER SUPERVISOR MICHAEL WHO BOTH INFORMED ME THE NEW ENGINE BLOCK HEATER CORD HAS BEEN RELEASED TO COLD WEATHER STATES, NOT KANSAS. THE ONLY WAY FOR ME TO GET THE CORD FOR MY TRUCK WOULD BE TO DRIVE TO COLORADO, THE CLOSEST STATE TO KANSAS THAT THE CORD HAS BEEN RELEASED TO. COLORADO IS OVER 8 HOURS FROM ME, NOT TO MENTION THE TEMPERATURE IS CURRENTLY COLDER IN KANSAS THAN COLORADO. THIS IS JUST VERY FRUSTRATING, I PAID FOR THE ENGINE BLOCK HEATER ON MY TRUCK SO I CAN USE IT. I GOT NOTICE OF THIS RECALL IN MAY OF 2019, NOW IT'S NOVEMBER WITH VERY COLD WEATHER AND THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED.
