TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE TRAILER BRAKES FAILED TO WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STAR CHEVROLET (5200 US-30 C, GREENSBURG, PA 15601) WHERE THE FAILURE CODE WAS ERASED AND THE BRAKES RETURNED TO NORMAL; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY FIVE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,707.
FRONT WHEELS SIMPLY JUST PEEL APART IN CHIPS. REAR WHEELS APPEAR TO BE FINE, SO THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH TURNING OR FRICTION ON THE FRONT WHEELS. THE TIRES CHIP AWAY THROUGH OUT THE ENTIRE SURFACE OF THE THREAD, LEAVING VOIDS AND GASHES ON THE SURFACE. WE DRIVE ON PAVED ROADS, SO THERE REALLY SHOULDN'T BE AN ISSUE WITH EXCESSIVE WEAR SUCH AS DRIVING ON ROUGH ROADS. I DID SHOW THIS TO OUR LOCAL DEALER, THEY CLAIM THE VEHICLE NEEDS AN ALIGNMENT, BUT KEEP IN MIND THE VEHICLE HAS UNDER 15K MILES FROM THE DEALER. ALREADY, WE CAN SEE THESE TIRES NOT EVEN COMING CLOSE TO THE WARRANTY THREAD WEAR LIMIT. PER DEALER, NO RECALLS ON OUR VIN.
Transmission and torque converter problem. Vehicle available. Transmission malfunctioning and sometimes violent vibration at highway speeds. Taken to dealership several times and charged a lot of money but dealer says even though they know they built them wrong they won’t replace it. Vehicle inspected by dealership and confirmed. Class action lawsuit is still active on this 2017 model as faulty transmission

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MUZI CHEVROLET (56 TV PL, NEEDHAM HEIGHTS, MA 02494, (855) 258-3295) WHERE THE WHEELS WERE BALANCED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,300.
8 SPEED TRANSMISSION HARSH JERKS BETWEEN 1ST AND 2 GEARS AND 2ND AND 1ST GEARS TYPICALLY OCCURRING ON SLIGHT DOWNHILL GRADE HARSH JERK AND KNOCK/HAMMER NOISE COMMON TO OCCUR AFTER VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING AND IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC SUCH AS SCHOOL DROP OFF WITH CHILDREN AROUND AND RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC
RANDOM CHIPS IN PAINT APPEARING ON VARIOUS SURFACES OF TRUCK. I LIVE IN CITY AND MOSTLY HIGHWAY DRIVING. THE TRUCK IS GARAGE KEPT. CHIPS ON PAINT NEAR DRIVER PILLAR, PANEL NEAR GAS TANK, PASSENGER REAR PANEL, AND TAILGATE.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, APPROXIMATELY 55MPH; THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON; SMELLED LIKE PLASTIC BURNING AT THE SAME TIME; I WAS ABLE TO STOP ON EXIT RAMP AS THICK BLACK SMOKE FILLED THE INSIDE. GOOD SAMARITANS HELPED ME GET OUT AS FLAMES WERE IGNITED UNDER THE HOOD. SEVERAL LIKE MINI EXPLOSIONS ACCOMPANIED THE FLAMES.
INTERIOR DRIVER SIDE FRONT DRIVER WINDOW BUTTON NOT ALWAYS WORKING. AT TIMES WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE DOOR AJAR IS LIT, WHILE THE DOOR MAY BE SHUT, IT DOESN'T LATCH COMPLETELY. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR IN PARK. THIS CAUSES THE INTERIOR LAMPS TO STAY ON AND DRAIN OUT THE BATTERY. I DID HAVE IT SERVICED UNDER WARRANTY. PROBLEM WAS SOLVED, UNTIL TODAY 08/10/2018.
BOUGHT THIS 2017 SILVERADO IN FEB. 2017 DIDN'T NOTICE THE VERTICAL SCRATCHES IN THE WINDSHIELD UNTIL THE SUN HIT IT JUST RIGHT. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED IT WAS A FACTORY DEFECT AND REPLACED IT QUICKLY NO PROBLEM. AT ABOUT 13,000 MILES I NOTICED THAT THE EW WINDSHIELD HAD SCRATCHES LEFT BY THE WIPER BLADES. WHERE THE BLADES REVERSE DIRECTION THE WINDSHIELD IS SCRATCHED SO BAD IT APPEARS MILKY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO SEE ABOUT GETTING IT REPLACED AND WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THEY COULDN'T DO IT WITHOUT AN OKAY FROM GM. I CONTACTED GM'S DIRECTLY. AFTER THEY TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME THAT THE SCRATCHES WERE MY FAULT FOR " USING THE WIPERS WITHOUT WASHER SOLUTION" I HAVE NEVER EVER TURNED THE WIPERS ON WITHOUT PRESSING THE WASHER BUTTON FIRST PERIOD. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT HE CALLED AND LEFT MESSAGES WITH THE GM CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. AND SHE HAS NOT RETURNED HIS CALLS. YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING ON A WINDING ROAD THE SUN HIT THE SCRATCHES JUST RIGHT CAUSING ME TEMPORARILY TO LOSE SIGHT OF THE ROAD. I WAS A LIFELONG GM CUSTOMER NOT ANYMORE!!!!
THE TRUCK HAS A HARD TIME ACCELERATING AND RANDOMLY UPSHIFTS AND DOWNSHIFTS. WHEN COMING TO A STOP IT HAS A HARD TIME DOWNSHIFTING WHICH MAKES IT HARD TO STOP. WHEN ON THE INTERSTATE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA IF THE TRUCK WILL ACCELERATE OR NOT AND SINCE IT HAS A HARD TIME STOPPING I AM AFRAID I AM GOING TO REAR END SOMEONE. ANOTHER ISSUE THE TRUCK HAS IS WITH THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. IT WORKS GOOD BUT IT MAKES A REALLY LOUD GRINDING NOISE WHEN ENGAGED. I AM TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TODAY AS I HAVE BEFORE. I AM HOPING THEY TAKE A SERIOUS LOOK AT IT AND FIX THE ISSUES.
FOR NO APPARENT REASON THE STABILITRACK SERVICE INDICATOR WILL ACTIVATE IN A VARIETY OF SETTINGS, IE LOW SPEED ON A ROAD, HIGH SPEED ON AN INTERSTATE, PARKED IN A PARKING, ETC. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO OUR LOCAL GMC DEALER AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE OR LOCATE A CODE THAT IS OCCURRING WHEN THIS WARNING INDICATOR ACTIVATES; THIS OCCURRED LAST WEEK AND AS RECENTLY AS THIS MORNING WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK

THE CONTACT CALLED PRINCE CHEVROLET BUICK GMC OF VALDOSTA (4550 N VALDOSTA RD, VALDOSTA, GA 31602 (229) 242-3311) AND WAS WAITING TO SCHEDULE A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,619.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE LOWER CONTROL ARM FRACTURED, WHICH CAUSED THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL TO BECOME DETACHED. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL. THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BENNETT CHEVROLET IN EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V256000 (SUSPENSION) A FEW DAYS AFTER THE CRASH. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,200.
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT AFTER BEING DRIVEN FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES. WHEN RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE 10 MINUTES AFTER PARKING IT, THE VEHICLE STARTER WAS ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE DESPITE NO REMOTE START OR ONSTAR APP BEING ACTIVATED TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ATTEMPT TO CRANK AND START, EVEN AFTER I UNLOCKED THE VEHICLE WITH MY KEY FOB, INSERTED THE KEY INTO THE IGNITION, AND ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE AND TURN OFF THE KEY. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ATTEMPT TO CRANK AND START AND I SMELLED A STRONG ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL. I THEN SAW BLUE/GREYISH SMOKE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE THE HOOD MEETS THE WINDSHIELD. I THEN GATHERED MY BELONGINGS FROM THE TRUCK AND WATCHED FROM A SAFE DISTANCE. AFTER THE SMOKE, THE TRUCK NO LONGER ATTEMPTED TO CRANK OR START ITSELF AND THE SMOKE WAS GONE WITHIN 5 MINUTES, ALTHOUGH THERE WERE SMALL INSTANCES OF SMOKE OVER THE NEXT 15 MINUTES. THE TRUCK WAS PUT ON A FLATBED TOW TRUCK FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS AT THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. INITIAL DIAGNOSIS INDICATED THAT THE "STARTER HAD CONSUMED ITSELF" AND WAS THE CAUSE OF THE SMOKE I SAW, BUT NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. IT WAS QUITE SCARY TO HAVE A TRUCK ATTEMPT TO START ITSELF WITH A SMALL ELECTRICAL SHORT/FIRE AS A RESULT WITHOUT A KEY BEING NEEDED.
Transmission issues that I have reported since 2 months into owning it. Anti-lock brake issues or braking issues where brake pedal is stiff but not stopping vehicle. Front grill shutter issues Temperature Transmission thermostat issues
8 SPEED TRANSMISSION CLUNKS WHEN SHIFTING INTO 2 GEAR AND AT TIMES FEELS LIKE YOU GOT REAR ENDED. WHEN IT DOWN SHIFTS INTO THE LOWER GEARS IT'S ALSO CLUNKS AND IS NOT SMOOTH. THIS IS HAPPENING WHEN GOING AT SLOW SPEEDS AND IS WORSE AFTER A COLD START . THE VEHICLE SHIFTS FINE AT HWY SPEEDS. I HAVE ALREADY BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE AND PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. TALKING TO OTHER PEOPLE WITH GM 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION AND THEY ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION NEEDS RECALL. POSSIBLY TORQUE CONVERTER.
TAKATA RECALL TOTAL LOSS NON REPAIRABLE
TRANSMISSION ABRUPTLY SHIFTING. FEEL LIKE THE TRUCK IS BEING HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT'S GONNA DO IT BUT WHEN IT DOES, ITS SCARY. THE OTHER DAY WHILE TRYING TO BACK UP INTO MY DRIVE WAY, THE WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN I PUSHED ON THE PEDAL. THEN ON IT'S OWN, THE TRUCK BURNED RUBBER BACKWARDS WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE GAS PEDAL. I ALMOST DROVE INTO MY GARAGE! THIS TRUCK IS NOT SAFE AND NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM SERVICE! THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN DURING YOU DRIVE.
THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD IN LOW GEARS (UPSHIFTING AND DOWNSHIFTING), LUNGING FORWARD AND A HARD KNOCK IN THE TRANSMISSION. CHEVROLET CANNOT FIX IT!
AT NIGHT WHEN SHIFT CAR INTO REVERSE THE CAMERA DISPLAY IN THE DASH IS SO BRIGHT IT BLINDS THE DRIVER, AND THERE IS NO ADJUSTMENT
BRAKES FAILED WHEN DRIVING SLOWLY IN BOTH FORWARD AND REVERSE. THIS OCCURRED FOLLOWING A PERIOD OF EXTENSIVE HIGHWAY DRIVING. BRAKE PEDAL WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO PUSH AND RESULTED IN NO BRAKING OF VEHICLE. NO TRAILER TOWING WAS INVOLVED.

WHILE DRIVING AT VERY LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AND LURCHED FORWARD ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, NEARLY STRIKING A PEDESTRIAN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MOUNTAIN VIEW CHEVROLET (2109 E. MAIN STREET, MOUNTAIN VIEW, AR), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
VEHICLE HESITATION AND SURGES IN ACCELERATION. THIS CONDITION IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT HESITATES PULLING INTO TRAFFIC, SURGES IN ACCELERATION HAVE CAUSED LOSS OF TIRE TRACTION ON ICE COVERED ROADWAYS NEARLY RESULTING IN A COLLISION. DEALERS HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED AN ISSUE BUT ADVISE THEY ARE STILL WAITING ON A FIX FROM GM.
PURCHASED MY 17 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 ON 11/28/17 AND RETURNED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 12/1/17. THIS WAS DUE TO A SEVERE SHUDDERING & SHIFTING IN THE TRANSMISSION & SEVERE SHAKE IN THE FRONT END AT 70-90MPH. THEY BALANCED & ROTATED THE TIRES, SAYING THE ISSUE WAS FIXED, I PICKED THE VEHICLE BACK UP ON 12/4/17 BUT THE ISSUE WAS NOT FIXED & AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE HAD ALSO OCCURRED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK ON 12/7/18 WITH THE SAME COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION & SHAKING IN THE FRONT END, AS WELL AS THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THE PROBLEM ELECTRICALLY WAS WHILE SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT THE BRIGHT LIGHTS FLASHED & THE RADIO/NAVIGATION SCREEN WENT BLANK. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED ME ON 12/8/17, TOLD ME THEY HAD BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUES, FINDING NOTHING WRONG. I LEFT IT OVER THE WEEKEND, WENT IN MONDAY MORNING & SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER DIRECTLY. HE TOLD ME HE HAD PURCHASED THE SAME VEHICLE WITH THE SAME TRANSMISSION ISSUES. SAID THERE WAS A POSSIBLE FIX BY EXCHANGING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID & THEY WOULD USE A NEW MACHINE PICO TO CHECK IT OUT. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE TORQUE CONVERTER DUE TO MALFUNCTIONING & PERFORM A PROGRAMMING MODULE UPDATE ON RADIO, I PICKED IT UP ON 12/22/17, ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION WAS STILL NOT RESOLVED. I TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP FOR TRANSMISSION SHUDDER, SHIFT & SHAKE ISSUE MOST NOTICEABLE AT 70-90MPH, & RADIO ISSUE. THEY WERE ADVISED TO PERFORM A MODULE UPDATE ON THE TRANSMISSION & GIVEN 2 OPTIONS ON THE RADIO, THEY CHOSE TO REPLACE THE SCREEN. I TOOK IT BACK TO THAT SAME DEALERSHIP, MODULE UPDATE MADE TRANSMISSION/FRONT END ISSUE WORSE, ESPECIALLY COMING OUT OF A CURVE. THEY'VE REPLACED MY 2 BACK TIRES SAID THEY WERE BAD & SHOULD FIX THE SHAKING ISSUE IN THE FRONT END. UNABLE TO DUPLICATE TRANSMISSION ISSUES THUS THEY CANNOT REPAIR IT. OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUES ARE BEING TOLD GM KNOWS BUT CAN'T FIX TRANSMISSION ISSUE.
Is available upon request. Transmission chugging, quite often. Pulsing after turning a corner trying to resume speed. Difficulty shifting when cold. Noticed this happening occasionally, but this problem is definitely getting worse, happening daily. I only have 27,000 miles on this truck. I stopped by the dealership and was told to change the transmission fluid myself since the warranty was up. Very disappointed.
UNSAFE CHARACTERISTIC!!!! INADVERTENT HARD SHIFT BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR OR WHEN DRIVING LESS THAN 10 MPH. THE SEVERITY OF THE SHIFT HAS NEARLY CAUSED MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS DUE TO UNPREDICTABILITY. WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT IS A VERY STARTLING EVENT THAT CAN MAKE YOU INCREASE THROTLE PRESS AND ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE, OVERSTEER IN LOW SPEEDTURNS, ABRUPTLY APPLY THE BRAKES TO KEEP FROM RUNNING INTO OBJECTS INCLUDING PEOPLE AND DIZZYNESS FROM YOUR HEAD STRIKING THE HEADREST. EACH MORNING WHEN I LEAVE FOR WORK I HAVE TO MAKE A U-TURN. I NEVER KNOW WHEN OR HOW HARD THE TRANSMISSION WILL KICK. I'VE ALMOST RAN INTO A SIGN/POLE IF I HADN'T QUICKLY STEERED AWAY FROM IT. WHEN LOOKING FOR A PARKING PLACE WITHIN A PARKING LOT, THE TRUCK WILL SOMETIME HARD SHIFT IN AND OUT OF GEAR. I DON'T FEEL SAFE OR CONFIDENT IN THIS TRUCK. I'M SCARED TO LET MY WIFE DRIVE IT IN THIS CONDITION. IWAS TOLD BY LOCAL CHEVY SERVICE DEPT THAT IS IN A NORMAL CHARATARISTIC OF THE TRANSMISSION. THAT GM IS AWARE BUT WILL NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE. THIS IS MY 5TH CHEVY VEHICLE AND MY 3RD TRUCK. NONE OF THE OTHERS HAD THIS ISSUE. PLEASE ADVISE...
WASHER PUMP BURNT, DEALER REPLACED WASHER BOTTLE & WASHER PUMP. PURCHASED DEC 2016, LAST 6 MONTHS LIVED IN ARIZONA. DIDN'T USE. TRIED USING MAR 20TH, WASHER DIDN'T WORK. NUMEROUS 2016-2017 COMPLAINTS ON LINE REGARDING THIS. DEALER REPAIR REPRESENTATIVE SAID MOTOR BURNT UP; HAD TO BE REPLACED. APPEARS WIRING CAUSED MOTOR TO BURN UP PER PRIOR CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS. YOUR SYSTEM WILL NOT ALLOW PDFS TO BE ATTACHED. CALL ME AND I'LL EMAIL THEM TO YOU!!!!!!!!!
RECENTLY I HAVE BEEN NOTICING MY SILVERADO WITH LESS THEN 20,000 MILES HAS HAD REALLY LOW OIL PRESSURE. AROUND 15-20 PSI AT IDLE AND THE TRANSMISSON SLAMS INTO GEAR,
2017 SILVERADO PAINT CHIPPING REALLY EASY AROUND WHEEL WELLS. I HAVE 8000 MILES ON THE TRUCK AND PROBABLY HAVE AROUND 50 OR MORE CHIPS DOWN TO THE PRIMER. CONTACTED CHEVROLET THEY WILL NOT WARRANTY PAINT CHIPS. I HAVE OWNED A 1999, 2007 AND 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO AND NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE. I HAVE ALSO TAKEN NOTICE TO OTHER TRUCKS YEARS 2014 TO 2018 HAVING SAME ISSUES SOME HAVE NO PAINT LEFT AT ALL VEHICLE MAYBE GET DRIVEN ON GRAVEL ABOUT 500 MILES A YEAR REALLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE PAINT QUALITY.
VEHICLE RADIO DISPLAY IS TOO BRIGHT. USING THE DIMMER DOES STILL LEAVES THE RADIO THE BRIGHTEST DISPLAY INSIDE THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT BLINDING THE DRIVER AT NIGHT. THE ONLY OPTION IS TO TURN THE DISPLAY OFF WHICH TAKES 5 SEPARATE INPUTS TO THE DISPLAY CONTROL. ONCE THE DISPLAY IS TURNED OFF ANY OTHER INPUT TO THE RADIO OR HEATING/AC CONTROLS TURNS THE DISPLAY BACK ON AND REQUIRES ANOTHER DISPLAY INPUT TO TURN THE DISPLAY OFF AGAIN.
BOUGHT 2017 SILVERADO 1500 LTZ NEW. BACKUP CAMERA WILL NOT DIM AT NIGHT, BLINDING, MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO BACK UP, UNABLE TO SEE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. BEEN THAT WAY SINCE NEW. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE REMOTE KEY WAS USED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IN ORDER FOR IT TO OPERATE. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION CHEVROLET WACO (1625 N VALLEY MILLS DR. #1, WACO, TX 76710), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,476.
I PURCHASED A NEW (175 MILES) 2017 CHEVROLET SILVERADO LS 4X4 FROM A DEALERSHIP ON 2/10/2017. I NOTICED THE RIDE WAS A BIT BUMPY ON THE 80 MILE RIDE HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT. THE NEXT TIME I DROVE IT WAS 2 WEEKS LATER (I WAS ON BUSINESS TRAVEL IN BETWEEN AND LET THE TRUCK SIT IN MY GARAGE), AND I DROVE IT AROUND TOWN ON 2/25/2017. IN ADDITION TO A MINOR ROUGH IDLE, IT WAS VERY BUMPY. IT WOULD SHAKE AT VIRTUALLY ALL SPEEDS. AFTER MY 5 MINUTE DRIVE FROM THE GROCERY STORE, I LITERALLY FELT DIZZY AND ILL. THE NEXT MORNING ON 2/26/2018, I DROVE IT TO WORK (25 MILES), AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME FEELINGS OF MOTION SICKNESS. I AM A CERTIFIED AUTO TECHNICIAN WITH NEARLY 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE, AND HAVE WORKED ON ALL COMPONENTS OF CARS AND TRUCKS (ENGINE REPAIR / OVERHAUL, TRANSMISSION, SUSPENSION, BRAKES, ELECTRICAL, HEATING / AC, ETC.). I'VE WORKED ON TRUCKS SPANNING A WIDE RANGE OF YEARS WITH VARIOUS ISSUES AND MILEAGES (LOW MILEAGE TO +250,000 MILES). I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT LANDERS MCLARTY CHEVROLET IN HUNTSVILLE, AL, AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS SAFETY CONCERN COULD NOT BE ADDRESSED AT THEIR DEALERSHIP UNTIL THE TRUCK HAD AT LEAST 500 MILES . I INFORMED THEM OF MY CONCERNS ABOUT DRIVING IT UNTIL THEN AS I HAVE UNDER 400 MILES ON IT, AND THEY TOLD ME TO DRIVE 80 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. UNBELIEVABLE! RADIO DISPLAY CHANGES FROM BRIGHT TO DIM WHENEVER IT WANTS TO. ALSO RADIO CHANGES WITHOUT EVEN TOUCHING THE SCREEN. POWER ADAPTER HAS STARTED NOT POWERING GARMIN AFTER BEING PLUGGED IN DURING TRIP. I HAVE A 2017 SILVERADO WITH 12,000 MILES ON IT. EAST CITY DRIVING AND HAVE HUNDREDS OF PAINT CHIPS ALL OVER THE VEHICLE. GM SAYS IT'S EXCESSIVE BUT THAT PAINT CHIPS ARE NOT COVERED U SEE WARRANTY AND IS DUE TO MY DRIVING CONDITIONS. THERE ARE OTHER WITH SAME COMPLAINT ONLINE. GM IS IGNORING THEIR PAINT ISSUE. HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT VERY GOOD AT ALL. I HAVE ADJUSTED THEM AND THEN OTHER DRIVERS BRIGHT LIGHT ME. I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING TO BE ABLE TO SEE BETTER AT NIGHT BUT NOTHING HAS WORKED FOR ME.

DEALER INFORMS ME THAT IS A "LEARNING" CURVE FOR VEHICLE TO UNDERSTAND MY DRIVING HABITS. WHEN GOING STRAIGHT ITS DIFFICULT TO SEE THE SHOULDER DEPTH OF THE ROAD. .THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED WITH THIS MODEL. THE 2019 MODELS HAVE MUCH BETTER HEADLIGHT DESIGNS THAT ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM.. THE 2017 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 LT THAT I HAVE DOES NOT. THE DEALER SERVICE WRITER AND I WALKED AROUND THEIR LOT AND COMPARED THE NEW MODELS HEADLIGHTS TO MINE. HE CALLED ME BACK THE NEXT DAY AND SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY NEW LIGHTING REPLACEMENTS OR REPAIRS FOR THIS MODEL. MY TRUCK IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. EXPERIENCING HESITATION/'CHUGGLE'/CONVERTOR SLIP IN 2ND-6TH GEAR IN V8 MODE WHEN ROLLING INTO THE THROTTLE AND PUTTING THE ENGINE UNDER LOAD ON A HIGHWAY. ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE WHEN IN 4TH 5TH OR 6TH GEAR,1500-1850 RPM, LOADING THE ENGINE TO ACCELERATE 55-60MPH, 60-70MPH. OR WHEN ACCELERATING ON AN INCLINE AT SAME SPEEDS WITHOUT DOWNSHIFTING. STILL SHAKES. THEY PUT A NEW DRIVESHAFT IN AND SAID IT WAS FIXED. I PICKED IT UP TODAY. NOPE. IT'S WORSE. NOW IT BEGINS SHAKE NO AT 60 AND AT 74-75 HAS A PRETTY DRAMATIC SHAKE. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. NOW I GO BACK AGAIN MONDAY TO LET THEM HAVE ANOTHER GO AT IT.THIS IS A BRAND NEW TRUCK.

THERE IS AN EXTREMELY NOTICEABLE HESITATION WHEN STARTING OFF FROM A COMPLETE STOP, WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY PUT MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS IN DANGER. I'VE BROUGHT MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS NO FIX.

WHEN TRAVELING ABOUT 45MPH AND START UP A HILL, THE RPM'S ARE ABOUT 1300, AND THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T GEAR DOWN, SO IT STARTS SHUTTERING UNTIL YOU GIVE IT MORE ACCELERATION THAN USUAL.) AFTER DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE FOR NEARLY 8 MONTHS AND 15K MILES, I BELIEVE THIS SAFETY ISSUE SHOULD BE RECALLED. DEALER ORIGINALLY ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM BUT WAS UNSURE OF THE CAUSE. AFTER 5 REPAIR ATTEMPTS THE DEALER SAY THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE AND THE VEHICLE PERFORMS AS DESIGNED.
WHEN VARIABLE TIMING OF VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN TWO CYLINDERS, SWITCHING TRUCK FROM V6 TO V4 WITH RPM'S AT OR BELOW 1,500K, THE TRUCK BEGINS TO MISS/SHUTTER. THIS OCCURS AND ON ROAD TYPE, ANY WEATHER CONDITION. AT TIMES THE VIBRATIONS OF THIS MISS/SHUTTER CAN BE A BIT VIOLENT. IF FURTHER ACCERATE TO FORCE THE TRUCK BACK INTO V6 MODE, THE ISSUE RESOLVES ITSELF BUT AS SOON AS THE TRUCK SWITCHES BACK TO V4 MODE, THE PROBLEMS BEGINS AGAIN IMMEDIATELY. I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK AT DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT 5 TIMES WITH NO RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. INSTEAD, THE TECHNICIANS CONTINUE TO PERFORM UNRELATED WORK ITEMS THAT DO NOT ALLEVIATE THE REAL ISSUE. UPON MY LAST SERVICE FOR THE ISSUE I WAS INFORMED THAT "GM DOESN'T CURRENTLY HAVE A SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM" AND THAT ALL OF THE SERVICE WORK THAT THE TECHNICIANS CONTINUE TO PERFORM IS "NOTHING MORE THAN A WAY TO TRY TO MASK THE SYMPTOMS SO THAT YOU DON'T NOTICE IT." UPON RESEARCHING, I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE HAS ARISEN IN MULTIPLE GM TRUCKS. THE LONG TERM AFFECTS, WHICH ARE UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME, ARE A CONCERNING.
