WHILE TRAVELLING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, VEHICLE STRUCK AN ADULT DEER - FRONT END SQUARE HIT OFFSET TO PASSENGER SIDE. FRONT PASSENGER LIGHTS, GRILL, RADIATOR SUPPORTS, BUMPER, SIDE FENDER, AND HOOD ALL SEVERELY DAMAGED. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE ENDED UP AT $4,386.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2001 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH UPHILL, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF A PICK-UP TRUCK. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WAS ONE INJURY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 270,000.
MY SON WAS DRIVING AND REAR ENDED A MAN GOING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH. THE FRONT END SUSTAINED A GREAT DEAL OF DAMAGE, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE ENGINE BEING PUSHED BACK SEVERAL INCHES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MY SON SUSTAINED MINOR WHIPLASH TYPE INJURIES TO HIS NECK AND BACK.

ON JANUARY 29, 2014, MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING MY SUBURBAN TRAVELING ON A SNOW AND ICY ROAD WHEN THE SUBURBAN BEGIN TO SPIN AND WENT DOWN AN EMBANKMENT. HE WAS TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE BETWEEN THE STEERING WHEEL AND WINDSHIELD. HE WAS WEARING THE SHOULDER AND LAP BELT.THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK ON 1/25/2013. COMING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION I WAS STRUCK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BY AN 18 WHEELER. I WOKE UP IN THE HOSPITAL ALMOST A MONTH LATER. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK/LEFT SHOULDER, BACK,KNEES, AND LOWER LEG INJURIES, AND WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL WHERE SHE WAS TREATED AND RELEASED. THE POLICE TOOK A REPORT AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE AGENCY. THE MANUFACTURER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THE SEVERITY OF THE ACCIDENT DID NOT WARRANT SIDE IMPACT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. *AK
DT: THE CONTACT STATED THE THIRD ROW PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WAS WRAPPED AROUND THE CHILD'S NECK. THE SEAT BELT HAD TO BE CUT TO FREE THE CHILD. THERE SHOULD BE A WAY TO TURN OFF THE LOCKING FEATURE OF THE SAFETY BELT. *AK
