UNDER ANY CONDITIONS, THE SHIFT LEVER POSITION INDICATOR LOCATED IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DOES NOT ILLUMINATE. WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW THE DRIVER TO KNOW WHICH GEAR THE VEHICLE IS IN. WHICH INCREASES THE DRIVERS CHANCES OF CRASHING. *TR
CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE, WITHOUT ANY WARNING , CAUSED BY COMPLETE CORROSION OF ENTIRE BRAKE LINE! RAN CAR OFF ROAD TO AVOID CARS AT STOP. EMERGENCY BRAKE ALSO FAILED DUE TO CORROSION. *TR
I NOTICED A GASOLINE LEAK IN MY DRIVEWAY COMING FROM UNDER FROM UNDER THE 2005 SUBURBAN. THE LEAK WAS ALMOST IN THE CENTER OF THE VEHICLE. I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THE GASOLINE LEAK REPAIRED. I WAS BILLED $2,230 TO REPAIR THE GASOLINE LEAK. I WAS GIVEN THE FOLLOWING DESCRIPTION ON THE INVOICE. "TESTED FOR FUEL LEAK FOUND SENDING UNIT & ALL FUEL LINES LEAKING ...". I WAS TOLD THAT THE ENTIRE FUEL LINE SYSTEM HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO CORROSION ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I GOOGLED THE CORROSION PROBLEM FOR CHEVROLET SUBURBAN'S AND READ SEVERAL INSTANCES OF BRAKES FAILING ON GM VEHICLES DUE TO CORROSION. THE BRAKE FAILURES THAT I READ ABOUT WERE THE RESULT OF CORRODED BRAKE LINES. TO ME THE CORROSION PROBLEM IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU COMBINE THE FUEL LINES AND BRAKE LINES INTO THE PROBLEM. I ASKED THE SERVICE TECH ABOUT HOW LONG THE NEW FUEL LINES WOULD LAST. HE TOLD ME ABOUT SIX OR SEVEN YEARS. I ASKED IF THEY USED STAINLESS STEEL FUEL LINES, AND WAS TOLD "NO". SINCE THIS APPEARS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW, I FEEL THAT GENERAL MOTORS SHOULD PUT OUT A NOTICE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS, OR AT THE VERY LEAST HELP WITH THE COST OF THE REPAIRS. HOW CAN I LET MY FAMILY, OR ANYONE ELSE, RIDE IN MY 2005 SUBURBAN WITH ONLY 125,000 MILES AND A CORROSION PROBLEM? WHILE DRIVING ALL I WOULD BE THINKING ABOUT IS THAT THE BRAKES COULD FAIL AT ANY MOMENT, OR SOMETHING WOULD FALL OFF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE CORROSION PROBLEM. IT'S TIME FOR GENERAL MOTORS TO STEP UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CORROSION PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONTACT HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE ROTTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN EQUIPPED WITH FEDERAL COURGIA M/T 33 TIRES (N/A), SIZE:12.50/R20. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE TREAD BECAME SEPARATED FROM THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO A TIRE SHOP WHERE THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES. THE CONTACT EMAILED THE MANUFACTURER BUT HAD NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE OF THE TIRE WAS 7,800. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000. THE DOT NUMBER WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET K1500 SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER ON THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT LATCH OR DETACH PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED, DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,175.
BRAKE LINES HAVE CORRODED AND YESTERDAY ONE OF THE LINES BELOW THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR RUPTURED RESULTING IN A COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKING. *TR
TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE DUE TO STEEL LINE CORROSION OR RUST. *TR
WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKES SOMETIMES THEY SEEM TO LOCK UP THEN SOME TIMES THE BROKE PEDDLE FAILS TO BE JUMPY SOUND LIKE A AIR BOOSTER FROM UNDER THE DASH BOARD THE CAR HAS NEW BRAKE DISC AND ROTORS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE GLASS WINDOW DETACHED FROM THE REAR LIFT GATE HYDRAULIC HINGES CAUSING IT TO HANG LOOSELY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE HAD TO COMPLETELY REMOVE THE GLASS FROM THE REAR LIFT GATE TO PREVENT IT FROM BREAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN VERIFIED THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE GLASS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
HAD TO REPLACE THE SENSOR FOR THE AIR BAG. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY GENERAL MOTORS. I KNOW THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULD NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM FIXED DUE TO THE COST. WHEN THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON IT DEACTIVATES THE AIR BAGS. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. WE HAVE A 2000 CHEVROLET TAHOE IN OUT FAMILY THAT HAS NOT HAD THIS PROBLEM. UNIROYAL LIBERATOR . THE TREAD SEPARATION OCCURRED ABOUT 11AM ON SATURDAY JULY 15, 2013 ON EAST BOUND I-10 JUST EAST OF OZONA, TEXAS. SPEED WAS ~79 MPH AS PART OF A BOY SCOUT CONVOY RETURNING FROM A HIGH ADVENTURE OUTING. VEHICLE WAS A 2005 K2500 SUBURBAN, LIGHTLY LOADED WITH MYSELF, 4 SCOUTS AND TWO BACK PACKS. WEATHER WAS OVERCAST AND 76 DEGREES F. NOT TOWING. TIRE PRESSURE WAS CHECKED AT 80 PSI BEFORE THE TRIP STARTED AND THE TIRE CASING WAS STILL INFLATED WHEN REMOVED TO PUT ON THE SPARE. *TR
LOSS OF BRAKES DUE TO SUDDEN LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID FROM RUSTED MAIN LINE OFF OF MASTER CYLINDER. *TR
BRAKE AND FUEL LINES ARE CORRODED. I LEARNED YESTERDAY FROM WIN KELLY CHEVROLET IN CLARKSVILLE, MD THAT MY BRAKE LINES ARE SO CORRODED I SHOULD REPLACE THEM IMMEDIATELY. ALSO OBSERVED WERE RUSTY FUEL LINES. I, AND MANY OTHER SUBURBAN/SILVERADO OWNERS APPARENTLY AGREE, THAT THIS IS DESIGN FLAW AND SHOULD BE RESOLVED BY A MANUFACTURE RECALL. THIS WAS MY FIRST GM PRODUCT; ALL OTHERS WERE DODGE. I NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE WITH ANY OF THE 17 OTHER VEHICLES I'VE OWNED OVER THE PAST 34 YEARS. IF THE CORROSION IS THAT BAD I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHY IT WASN'T NOTED IN PREVIOUS "BUMPER TO BUMPER COURTESY INSPECTIONS". *TR
AIR BAG SENSOR FAILURE RENDERING THE AIRBAGS INOPERABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIFTGATE DOOR ACTUATOR FAILED AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RELEASE THE DOOR IN AN OPEN POSITION. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DESIGNED WITH A MANUAL LOCK TO ACCESS THE REAR LIFTGATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
ATTEMPTED TO LOCK THE VEHICLE USING THE KEY FOB - ALL FOUR DOORS LOCKED - THE REAR HATCH DID NOT - TRIED THE KEY FOB SEVERAL MORE TIMES WITH THE SAME RESULT - OPENED THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND USED THE MANUAL LOCK BUTTON - GOT THE SAME RESULT, THE FOUR DOORS LOCKED BUT NOT THE REAR HATCH - FOR MY 2005 MODEL, AND FOR SEVERAL MODEL YEARS OTHER THAN MY 2005, I READ MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM ON THIS WEBSITE PRIOR TO SENDING THIS - AND MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE OPPOSITE PROBLEM, NAMELY, THE REAR HATCH DOOR LOCKS AND CANNOT BE OPENED - THERE IS NO KEY HOLE IN THE DOOR, ONLY THE KEY FOB OPERATES LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE DOOR - OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN PROBLEM THAT YOU OUGHT TO ISSUE A RECALL ON - AND, READ MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OVER MANY MODEL YEARS - AGAIN, OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN PROBLEM - WHY DON'T YOU FOLKS MAKE GM FIX THESE FAULTS ? - THEY ARE NOT FEW IN NUMBER - THEY ARE NOT ISOLATED - THEY CERTAINLY ARE NOT OWNER GENERATED - MAKE GM FIX THEM - ISN'T THAT YOUR JOB? THE AUTO TRANSMISSION 3 AND 4TH GEAR CLUTCH FAILED IN THIS UNIT WHICH RESEARCH SHOWS IS A COMMON FAILURE. WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS OPENED FOR THE REPAIR THERE WERE TWO PARTS THAT SHOWED A LOT OF RUST WHICH INDICATED AN EXPOSURE TO WATER. I WOULD NOT BE WRITING THIS IF THE TRANSMISSION SHOP HAD NOT SHOWN ME A CHEVY AVALANCHE TRANSMISSION THEY HAD JUST CAME IN WITH THE SAME PARTS SHOWING THE RUST PATTERN. BOTH TRANSMISSIONS WERE MADE IN THE RAMOS, MEXICO GM FACTORY IN WITHIN A SHORT TIME FRAME. THIS IS MAJOR CONCERN IF THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED ON AN INTERSTATE AND THE LOSS OF SPEED COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC LIKE AN ACCIDENT LOCALLY IN LOWNDES COUNTY, MS WHERE A CROWN VICTORIA WAS HIT FROM BEHIND WHEN SOMETHING FAILED IN THAT CAR AND SLOWED DOWN. TWO PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIFE. *TR
STARTED ENGINE, DEPRESSED BRAKE PEDAL TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE. BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO FLOOR WITH NO PRESSURE, BRAKE AND STABILITY WARNING LIGHT GO ON. I BACK UP, THEN GO INTO DRIVE, TRAVEL ABOUT 50 FEET, APPLY PRESSURE ON BRAKE PEDAL AND AGAIN NO PRESSURE ON PEDAL, SUBURBAN SLOWLY STOPS FORWARD MOVEMENT ON LEVEL SURFACE. I RETURN SUBURBAN TO PARKING AREA AND TURN OFF ENGINE, CALL SERVICE SHOP AND MAKE APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR. NEXT WEEK, 4/22 SLOWLY DRIVE SUBURBAN 1 MILE TO REPAIR FACILITY FOR SERVICE. 4/23 REPAIR MANAGER CALLS TO TELL ME THAT ALL THE BRAKE LINES ARE EXCESSIVELY RUSTED. *TR
THE REAR WINDOW IN THE REAR LIFT DOOR HAS DELAMINATED AND CRACKED AT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE WINDOW CAUSING THE WINDOW SHIFT. I CALLED GENERAL MOTORS ON 3/26/13 AT 4PM AND TALKED TO A PHONE REP. THE CASE #[XXX]WAS GIVEN TO ME BY REP. [XXX]@ 866-790-5600 EXT.[XXX]. I WAS ADVISED TO GO TO THE CHRONIC CHEV. DEALER IN GRIFFIN GA. WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE SO THEY COULD SEE THE SITUATION. THE AREA DIST. MANAGER WAS CALLED. BOTTOM LINE, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD DO NOTHING AS IT WAS DUE TO "AGE, WEAR AND TEAR". THE DEALER SAID IT WOULD COST $862.00 & $200.00 TO INSTALL. THEY ALSO SUGGESTED I COULD CALL SAFELITE AUTO AND THEY WOULD INSTALL AN AFTER MARKET GLASS FOR $462.90, PARTS & LABOR. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND GENERAL MOTORS WILL DO NOTHING. I DID SEE THE NEW SUBURBAN AND SEEN CHANGES IN THE WAY THE WINDOW IS MOUNTED. SOMETHING NEED TO BE DONE! GAS SMELL WHEN IDLING....TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY FOUND THE (FLEXIBLE) FUEL LINE LEAKING. THEY SHOWED ME THE PROBLEM AND IT SURE LOOKED LIKE THE LINES WERE CROSSED WHEN THEY WERE INSTALLED, EVEN THE MECHANIC SAID SOMETHING TO THAT NATURE, BUT I WILL GUARANTEE YOU HE WOULD NEVER ADMIT THAT......IT IS GOING TO COST ME $651.00 TO HAVE JUST ONE LINE REPLACED............THE LINE WORE A HOLE THRU IT WHERE THE LINES WERE CROSSED AND RUBBING ON EACH OTHER. *TR
THE DRIVER WAS SITTING AT THE STOP LIGHT FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE MINUTE. BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER HEARD A REVVING NOISE. THE DRIVER'S RIGHT FOOT REMAINED ON THE BRAKE. SHE NEVER PUT HER FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL, YET THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORWARD INTO THE INTERSECTION. THE SUBURBAN WAS STRUCK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BY A TRUCK, SPUN AND WAS HIT AGAIN ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SITTING AT THE LIGHT BEHIND OUR SUBURBAN AGREED THAT OUR CAR WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP WHEN IT SUDDENLY WENT INTO THE INTERSECTION. THE SUBURBAN WAS DEEMED TOTALED BY OUR INSURANCE COMPANY. *TR
OUR SPEEDOMETER JUST ALL OF A SUDDEN STOPPED WORKING,FROM TIME TO TIME IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS WORKING BUT IT IS NOT GOING THE SPEED THAT IT SAYS. SINCE THIS STARTED OUR OIL GAUGE,AND NOW FUEL GAUGE HAS STOPPED WORKING. *TR

MY SPEEDOMETER RECENTLY STARTED MALFUNCTIONING. IT READ 20MPH WHEN I WAS DRIVING AT LEAST 50MPH, THEN IT READ 90+MPH WHEN I WAS ACTUALLY DRIVING 30MPH. FINALLY, MY SPEEDOMETER GAVE OUT AND IS "STUCK" IN THE 120+MPH POSITION. THANKFULLY, I HAVE A GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEM THAT HAS A GAUGE ON IT SO I KNOW MY RATE OF SPEED. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY REFUSED TO REMEDY THIS "WIDESPREAD" PROBLEM. THEY SAID THAT MY "SPECIAL COVERAGE" HAS ENDED (REFERRING TO THE 2008 CLASS ACTION SUIT THAT PROMPTED IT). I AM VERY UPSET! I HAVE READ MANY, MANY FORUMS AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE. MY MECHANIC SAYS THEY REPLACE THEM "ALL THE TIME" AND CHARGES $700-$1,000 TO FIX IT. IN MY OPINION, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PANEL. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY GM WON'T STEP UP AND FIX IT FREE OF CHARGE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 2500. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETECTED A SHORTAGE WITHIN THE CIRCUITS UNDER THE DRIVER'S SIDE DASHBOARD, WHICH RESULTED IN THE WIRES BECOMING MELTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND RECOMMENDED THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.
MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED WITH A DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL GAUGE AND DELAYED STARTS. I CHANGED THE PUMP AND NOTICED THE ORIGINAL PUMP WAS MISSING A SPRING ON ONE OF THE PUSH RODS. THE WEAR AND TEAR MADE THE PUMP HANG. I HAVE THE PUMP AND PHOTOS TO DELIVER. THIS PUMP IS A FLEX FUEL PUMP. THERE ARE SO MANY POSTS ON THIS DELAYED START ISSUE. I HAVE RECENTLY POSTED THE CAUSE OF MY ISSUE. I NOTICED THE DEFECT IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE I PERFORMED THE REPAIR AND NOT THE DEALER. THEY WERE QUICK TO OFFER ME A QUOTE FOR OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REPLACE A DEFECTIVE PART. *TR
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BROKEN, TWO AT BACK LEFT, DRIVER'S SIDE CLOSEST TO FIREWALL. CAUSING AUDIBLE EXHAUST LEAK. *TR
WENT TO MOVE VEHICLE TO ATTACH LANDSCAPE TRAILER. BRAKES WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR. UPON INVESTIGATION, FOUND BRAKE FLUID ON GROUND FROM DRIVER SIDE RIGHT FRONT. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO REPAIR STATION AND ASKED MECHANIC TO REPLACE BRAKE LINE AND CHECK ALL OTHER BRAKE LINES. MECHANIC ENDED UP REPLACING 80% OF LINES DUE TO CORROSION. THIS COULD HAVE ENDED UP RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT IF THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING WITH THE TRAILER ATTACHED CARRYING ATV'S. IN ADDITION, THE CABLE HOLDING THE SPARE TIRE HAD TO BE CUT IN ORDER TO GET ACCESS TO REAR BRAKE LINES. THE CABLE WAS RUSTED MEANING THAT A TIRE COULD NOT BE CHANGED IN THE EVENT OF A FLAT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SOCKET AND WIRES FOR THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT WERE MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED A PARTS STORE AND THEY STATED THAT THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CONTINUE LOOKING FOR THE PART. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
ON AUGUST 3RD, 2012 MY 2005 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500 FIRST SHOWED SIGNS OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER FAILING. THE TACHOMETER SHOWED A READING OF 5,000 RPMS WITH THE ENGINE IDLING. THIS CONTINUED FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN SEEMED TO GO BACK TO NORMAL. ABOUT A WEEK LATER THE SPEEDOMETER BEGAN TO INDICATE INCORRECT READINGS. BY SEPTEMBER 6TH, 2012 I HAD NOTICED IT WOULD SOMETIMES SHOW A SPEED OF 120 MPH WHILE GOING AN ACTUAL SPEED 50 MPH OR SOMETIMES SHOW 29 MPH WHILE GOING 50 MPH. FOR A WHILE IT WAS MOVING THE NEEDLE BELOW 0MPH. I CAN NO LONGER RELY ON THE GAUGES OF THIS VEHICLE WITH ONLY 65,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
MY 2005 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN Z71 SWITCHES RANDOMLY AND WITHOUT SPECIFIC CAUSE INTO REDUCED ENGINE POWER WHICH NEARLY GO ME KILLED WHEN MERGING INTO A HIGH-SPEED INTERSTATE PULLING A TRAILER. THE ONLY WAY TO "FIX" IT (MAKE THE ENGINE RUN NORMAL AGAIN) IS TO PULL TO THE SIDE IF THE HIGHWAY (DANGEROUS!) AND SHUT THE TRUCK OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES. THIS HAPPEN RANDOMLY BUT AT LEAST THREE TIMES A DAY. ELECTRICAL CLUSTER SPEEDOMETER WENT HAYWIRE THEN QUIT ODOMETER DID THE SAME. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON A TRIP TO FLORIDA WHEN AT 65 MPH MY SPEEDOMETER KEPT INCREASING AND PEGGED OUT AT THE 120 MPH MARK. I PULLED OVER TO TRY AND RESOLVE THE ISSUE BUT TO NO AVAIL IT STAYED STUCK AT THE 120 MPH MARK. WHEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE ALL MY CLUSTER GAUGES WERE PEGGED OUT: OIL, BATTERY, TEMP, AND EVEN GAS GAUGE. I ALSO STARTED GETTING INFO THAT MY AIRBAG SYSTEM NEEDED ATTENTION. FOUR WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT CAME ON JUST A DIFFERENT ARRAY OF MALFUNCTIONS CAME FLYING ACROSS MY DISPLAY. TO THIS DATE MY BATTERY GAUGE IS STILL PEGGED OUT MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON, SERVICE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT STILL FLASHES INADVERTENTLY AND NOW MY DRIVERS SIDE HEATER AND CONTROLS ARE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. BROUGHT IN TO REPAIR SHOP & THEY SAID NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED SO MY COST WOULD RUN WELL OVER $1500.00. RIDICULOUS. OWN UP CHEVY FIX THIS. *TR

SMELLED GAS IN GARAGE AND MOVED VEHICLE OUTSIDE GARAGE TO INVESTIGATE. FOUND PUDDLE OF GAS ON GARAGE FLOOR WHERE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED. CRAWLED UNDER VEHICLE AND FOUND TWO BRAIDED FUEL LINES CROSSING EACH OTHER AND RESTING ON ONE ANOTHER. THEY HAD WORN A HOLE IN THE BRAIDED FUEL LINE AND WAS LEAKING A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF FUEL. TOOK TO LOCAL REPAIR SHOP FOR REPAIR. MECHANIC HAD TO CUSTOM REBUILD FUEL LINE TO AVOID CRISS-CROSS ROUTE ORIGINALLY INSTALLED. MECHANIC VERY CONCERNED WITH EXISTING DESIGN - PRESSURIZED BRAIDED FUEL LINE WAS SPEWING FUEL BENEATH VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND AFTER DIAGNOSING THE VEHICLE, THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TRAVELING FAST ENOUGH AT THE TIME OF IMPACT FOR THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

GAS LEAKED FROM FUEL LINES WHICH WERE CROSSED WHEN VEHICLE WAS BUILT AS RESULT RUBBING OCCURRED AND LINES RUPTURED CAUSING FUEL TO LEAK OUT. WENT TO DEALER FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED AND WOULDN'T ADMIT THIS IS WHY THE LEAK HAPPENED ORIGINALLY. HUSBAND HAS PATCHED A FEW TIMES NOW WHILE WE WAIT FOR NEW GAS LINES TO COME FROM GM BECAUS WE REFUSE TO GO TO DEALER AND USE OUR OWN GARAGE. HOPE NEW LAW GOES INTO EFFECT REGARDING THAT AS WELL.
