THE DASH HAS A CRACK AT THE TOP LEFT CORNER WHERE THE AIRBAG IS LOCATED. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT INJURY IF THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED OR THAT IT MIGHT NOT DEPLOY PROPERLY IN A CRASH.
DASH CRACKING IN FRONT OF DRIVER SEAT. SECOND TIME DASH HAS CRACKED IN LAST 2 YEARS. POTENTIALLY EFFECTS ELECTRICAL SUPPORTING AIRBAG. CHEVY/GM REFUSES TO COVER COST OF REPLACEMENT. ISSUE APPEARS TO BE WIDESPREAD AMONG OWNERS.
THE DASH ON THE LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG HAS CRACKED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR MAINTENANCE, THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE UPPER PANEL OF THE DASHBOARD WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 96,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VILLAGE CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 16200 WAYZATA BLVD, WAYZATA, MN 55391, (952) 473-5444), BUT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL WHEN I FIRST RECEIVED THE NOTICE ABOUT THE RECALL IN JULY 2016 I CONTACTED JERRY CHEVROLET ABOUT REPLACING THE AIR BAGS AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER AND NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME AND I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN THEY DID BECOME AVAILABLE AND THEN TOLD WHEN TO BRING IT IN FOR REPAIR. I WAITED AND WAITED. I CONTACTED THEM AGAIN IN 2017 AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. I ALSO CONTACTED A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS NOW AND THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I AM SCARED ABOUT DRIVING MY CAR AND AM UPSET THAT WHEN GM HAD ANOTHER RECALL ON MY HUSBANDS COBALT THAT THEY SET A DEADLINE AND YOU HAD TO GET YOUR CAR IN TO BE REPAIRED BEFORE THAT DEADLINE. AT THAT TIME OUR DAUGHTER WAS GOING THRU MULTIPLE DR. APPOINTMENTS AND SURGERIES AND WE COULD NOT MEET THAT DEADLINE. WE HAD TO PAY FOR THIS RECALL OUT OF OUR OWN POCKET. WHAT GIVES THEM A RIGHT TO SET A DEADLINE ON ANY RECALL WHEN I HAVE BEEN WAITING 3 YEARS ON THIS RECALL! NOT FAIR AT ALL! A RECALL IS NOT AN OWNERS FAULT.

IN ADDITION, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE, THE REAR ASSIST SENSOR FAILED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK INJURIES, BUT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. "TAKATA RECALL". I RECEIVED A RECALL IN JUNE 2016 AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SUPPLY A REPLACEMENT PART IN 16 MONTHS. NO ONE CAN RIDE IN THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT BECAUSE OF THE DANGER
MY DASHBOARD HAS DEVELOPED 3 MAJOR CRACKS ACROSS IT.

THIS RECALL HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR AND HALF AND WE ARE BEING TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIPS THERE IS YET TO BE A FIX. THIS IS RIDICULOUS

TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL WITH NO REMEDY FOR A FIX AND A VEHICLE THAT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH ALL DEALERS NOT WANTING TO TAKE ON TRADE
TAKATA RECALL IT HAS BEEN 18 MONTHS SINCE I FIRST RECEIVED NOTIFICATION THAT THE AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE, DESIGNED TO KEEP ME SAFE, MAY BE DEFECTIVE TO THE POINT OF CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THERE IS STILL, 18 MONTHS LATER, NO SOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A SERIOUS BREECH OF SAFETY AMOUNTS TO NEGLIGENCE. TAKATA HAS SINCE FILED BANKRUPTCY. CHEVROLET/GM HAS NOT FULFILLED THEIR OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE A VEHICLE THAT DOES NOT POSE UNDUE AND INCREASED RISK OR DANGER.

I NOTICED WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE THAT MY DASH STARTED TO RATTLE. AFTER GETTING TO SCHOOL TO DROP MY KIDS OFF, I NOTICED THAT I HAD A CRACK IN MY DASH RESONATING FROM THE TOP OF THE STEERING WHEEL PORTION OF THE DASH. IT HAS SINCE THEN GROWN ANOTHER CRACK AND THE ORIGINAL CRACK IS BECOMING LONGER AND LONGER. THE DASH IS NOW CRACKED AT THE CORNER OF THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE CRACKS ARE GOING TO JUST CONTINUE UNTIL I'M UNABLE TO KEEP THE VIBRATIONS TO A MINIMUM. I'M ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE CRACK NOW OVER BY THE AIRBAG. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WOULD CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO MALFUNCTION IF IT CONTINUES.

THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, I HAD JUST TURNED ONTO A CITY STREET FROM A SHOPPING CENTER AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. THEIR WAS NOT ANY WARNING THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. VEHICLE WAS DRIVING FINE UP UNTIL THAT POINT. THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE WHEN PRESSING ON GAS. ME AND MY CHILDREN CAME VERY CLOSE TO GETTING HIT, WE WERE SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. NO WARNING SIGNS OF THIS. I HAD TO GET THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. I DIDN'T PLAN ON SPENDING 4000 DOLLARS ON A 2010 CHEVY SUBURBAN.
DASH IS CRACKED ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND IS SPREADING WITH SHARP EDGES THAT CAN SHATTER AND CAUSE HARM DURING A CRASH. DASH CRACKED RANDOMLY WHEN PARKED.
ALL OF A SUDDEN, WHILE DRIVING DOWN A SMOOTH ROAD, HEARD A LARGE POP SOUND FROM DASHBOARD. PLASTIC DASHBOARD CRACKED ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL. CRACK IS NOW GROWING LARGER.
DASHBOARD CRACKED. IF AIRBAG DEPLOYED THE SHRAPNEL FROM DASHBOARD WOULD INJURE DRIVER AND PASSENGER. NOTICED IT WHEN IT RATTLED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
HEARD THE DASH START TO MAKE A NOISE, LOOKED AT IT AND THERE WAS A SMALL HAIRLINE CRACK. CAME BACK TO THE CAR ABOUT 4 HOURS LATER AND THERE WERE TWO CRACKS ABOUT THE ODOMETER. THIS CAR IS GARAGED EVERY EVENING AND IS WELL KEPT ON THE INSIDE. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER TO GM BUT AFTER THIS I DOUBT I WILL EVER BUY GM AGAIN.

TAKATA RECALL - CURRENTLY THERE IS NO "FIX" FOR THE AIRBAG. THAT IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AND MY PASSENGERS. KNOWING THAT AN AIR BAG ISN'T WORKING PROPERLY WOULD BE CONSIDERED NEGLIGENCE ON MY PART IF I ALLOW PASSENGERS TO RIDE IN MY VEHICLE. THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP SAID THERE IS NOT CURRENT "FIX" DUE TO THE OPEN RECALL. TK HOLDINGS IS TRYING TO OBJECT TO MY CLAIM AS WELL. MY AIR BAG SENSOR HAS BEEN ON FOR SOME TIME NOW. IT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED. THIS IS DUE TO NO FAULT OF MY OWN.
THE DASHBOARD CRACKED ON TWO LOCATIONS ON THE 2010 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN LTZ. ONE CRACK IS OVER THE DRIVER'S SIDE/STEERING COLUMN WHICH CONTINUES TO GROW. THE OTHER CRACK IS LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND GOES DIRECTLY INTO THE AIRBAG. THIS IS CONSISTENT WITH OTHER REPORTINGS ON THE INTERNET OF FELLOW CHEVY SUBURBAN OWNERS. MY CAR IS STORED IN MY GARAGE ALL DAY AND IS NOT SITTING IN THE SUN ALL DAY NOR HAS THE CAR EVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. CHEVY HAS NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENS - JUST THAT THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO AT LEAST PAY FOR 1/2 OR THE COST OF THE NEW DASHBOARD. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR AND STATED THAT I HEARD A RATTLING FROM THE DASHBOARD; ASKED IF THEY COULD ENSURE THAT THE DASH WAS SECURE. WHEN I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE THEY STATED THE DASH WAS FINE. THE RATTLING CONTINUED FOR MONTHS. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS, I NOTICED THE CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, I NOTICED THE CRACK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE DEALERSHIP NOR CHEVY WILL ASSIST WITH THIS ISSUE.
THE TOP SURFACE OF THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED. THE CRACK HAS REACHED THE AREA OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THE AREA AFFECTED BY THE CRACKED DASHBOARD SEEMS LOOSE AND MAKES A LOUD RATTLE AS I DRIVE.
TWO YEARS AGO MY STABILITRAK FAILURE WARNING CAME UP. THE ENGINE WOULDN'T GO OVER 20 MPH. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED AND THE ISSUE CORRECTED. THIS WEEK IT HAPPENED AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING, THE STABILITRAK WARNING CAME UP AND CAR POWER/ ACCELERATION WENT DOWN TO ALMOST NOTHING. CHEVY IS SAYING THEY *THINK* MY CAM SHAFT LIFTER FAILED AND IT'S ALMOST $7,000 TO FIX. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM IN THE CHEVY/GMC CARA OF THIS MANUFACTURING TIME. IT'S DANGEROUS AND SOMEONE WILL GET KILLED.
THE VEHICLE IS CONSUMING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF ENGINE OIL AND FOULING SPARK PLUGS.
SEVERAL CRACKS HAVE APPEARED IN THE DASH OF MY 2010 SUBURBAN. ONE IS ON THE LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COMPARTMENT. THE OTHER IS ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. AFTER THE CRACK OCCURRED ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, THE SENSORS BEGAN TO MALFUNCTION. THE CRACKS APPEARED OVER TIME. WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED IN 2012 AND THERE WERE NO DEFECTS IN THE DASH. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS NOR HAS HER BEEN ANY FORCE APPLIED TO THE DASH THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE CRACKS. WE DISCOVERED THE CRACKS ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO WORK WITH GM TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AS IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS OCCURRING IN THOUSANDS OF OTHER GM VEHICLES FROM 2007-2013. WE ARE MEMBERS OF A FACEBOOK GROUP WITH ALMOST 4000 MEMBERS ALL SHARING THE SAME PHOTOS, STORIES AND ISSUES WITH THEIR GM VEHICLES. THIS COMPLAINT IS FILED DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE CRACKS ARE GETTING WORSE AND MY FEAR IS THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COULD BE DANGEROUS IF DEPLOYED. NOT TO MENTION THE MALFUNCTIONING SENSORS UNDER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHERE THE OTHER CRACK IS LOCATED.
I HAVE ALWAYS GARAGED AND MAINTAINED MY VEHICLES. WHEN I PARK MY CAR WHILE OUT,I ALWAYS UTILIZE A WINDSHIELD VISOR TO PROTECT MY DASH AS WELL AS KEEP THE TEMPERATURE DOWN IN THE VEHICLE. WHEN I STARTED NOTICING MY DASH WAS CRACKING I WAS SHOCKED. IN MY 40 PLUS YEARS OF OWNING A VEHICLE I HAVE NEVER HAD A DASH CRACK. THE CRACK HAS CONTINUED TO SPREAD OVER THE CONTROLS IN FRONT OF THE STEERING WHEEL AT THIS POINT. I GOT AN ESTIMATE ON REPLACING IT AND WAS QUOTED 1600.00 PARTS AND LABOR. SERIOUSLY?? I AM FURIOUS AT THIS POINT AND I AM LOOKING FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE, NOT A CHEVY. I'VE HAD MANY THINGS GO WRONG WITH THIS MODEL WHICH INCLUDE THE MOTORIZED SIDE WINDOWS, THE GLASS POPPING OPEN ON THE HATCH, ALL THE PAINT CHIPPING OFF ON THE AIR CONTROL BUTTONS, HINGES BREAKING OFF OF THE STORAGE COMPARTMENTS ON THE CONSOLE, THE MOTORIZED BUTTON THAT IS SUPPOSED TO LIFT THE BACKSEAT DON'T WORK PROPERLY AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. SUCH AN EXPENSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT.
8-10-15 DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH WITHOUT WARNING VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF ROAD WITH DIFFICULTY BUT SAFELY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WAS ABLE TO START AFTER A MINUTE AND DROVE IMMEDIATELY TO JACK WILLIAMS CHEVROLET IN ST. AUGUSTINE FLA. THEY DIAGNOSED A BATTERY THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (NO INDICATION OF CHECK ENGINE CODE ON RECEIPT JUST BATTERY TESTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED) DROVE FOR A WEEK WITH NO PROBLEM THEN LEFT FOR MY HOME IN PENNSYLVANIA. IN VIRGINIA AFTER REFUELING AND ABOUT READY TO GET ON THE INTERSTATE THE SAME THING HAPPENED! THIS WAS A MUCH MORE DANGEROUS SITUATION IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. WITH NO POWER, BREAKS OR STEERING I MANAGED TO GET SAFELY OFF THE ROAD. AGAIN I WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AFTER A MINUTE AND BEING A SATURDAY AFTERNOON WITH NO DEALER SERVICE AVAILABLE I DECIDED TO RISK THE REST OF THE DRIVE HOME. THANKFULLY I MADE IT AND ON MONDAY I CALLED CHEVROLET DIRECTLY TO ASK THEM WHY THE FLORIDA DEALER MIS-DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM, ASKED WHY THIS HAPPENED AND IF THERE WAS ANY RECALLS OR SERVICE BULLETINS. THEY DIRECTED ME TO SUTLIFF CHEVROLET IN HARRISBURG, PA. I DID GET A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AFTER THE SECOND FAILURE BUT THE LIGHT WAS OFF BY MONDAY. THEY READ A P0601 CODE AND REPLACED AND REPROGRAMED ECM. (ENGINE CONTROL MODULE I BELIEVE). THE COMPLAINT AGAINST THE DEALER IN FLORIDA IS FILED WITH CHEVROLET BUT I AM FILING THE INCIDENT WITH NHTSA BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT THIS COMPUTER FAILURE WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I CANT IMAGINE WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO A YOUNG OR LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVER IN THIS SITUATION. FRANKLY HAD THAT FAILED AT THE POSTED 70 MPH POSTED SPEED LIMIT ON THE INTERSTATE WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC FOR ME AS WELL.
DASHBOARD CRACKED IN TWO PLACES. ONE ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, ONE BY PASSENGER AIRBAG. DASHBOARD RATTLES DUE TO CRACK. AIRBAG FUNCTION MAY BE ADVERSELY AFFECTED. THERE WAS NO INCIDENT THAT LEAD TO THE CRACKS, OTHER THAN OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATIONS.
THE DASH HAS CRACKED IN 3 DIFFERENT DIRECTION ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AT THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THE AIR BAG. THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED HAS STATED THAT GM WILL NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE IT. THE CRACK STARTED AS ONE AND HAS SINCE RUN IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS.
I HAVE MULTIPLE CRACKS IN MY DASHBOARD. ONE ON THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF THE AIRBAG AND ANOTHER OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM THAT GM HAS REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AFFECTED BY THIS. THIS DASHBOARD SHOULD BE RECALLED. IT SERIOUSLY IMPACTS OUR RESALE VALUE.
UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, THERE WAS A LARGE "POP" SOUND FROM THE DASH AND I NOTICED THAT THE DASH CRACKED AND HAS JAGGED SHARP PLASTIC EDGES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED AND DETERIORATED. THE DASHBOARD WAS EXPOSING CRACKS ABOVE THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE NEAR THE AIR BAG AND ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. IN ADDITION, THE GLARE FROM THE DASHBOARD FAILURE WAS ALSO AFFECTING THE CONTACTS VISIBILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE DASHBOARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
CRACKED DASH BOARD. NEXT TO AIRBAG AND ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. CONCERNED FOR PROPER FUNCTION OF AIRBAG AS WELL AS THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. IT STARTED TO CRACK SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND CONTINUES TO GET WORSE EVERY YEAR.

ELECTRICAL IS DASH IS CAUSING THE RADIO TO MESS UP. IT SWITCHES FROM RADIO TO USB TO CD TO AUX, WILL NOT STAY ON JUST ONE OF THEM MAKING LISTENING TO RADIO NOT POSSIBLE. THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON WITH A MESSAGE SAYING CHECK AIR BAG. THE TIRE MONITOR LIGHT STAYS ON AND DON'T KNOW WHY. ALSO THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON RANDOMLY, HAD THIS CHECKED OUT AND IT WOULDN'T GIVE THEM A CODE SO CHEVY COULDN'T FIX IT WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS A LOT GOING AND WOULD LOVE FOR IT BE FIXED. I ALSO SEEN THAT STARTING IN 2011 THERE IS RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE FOR ELECTRICAL NOT SURE WHY THEY WOULDN'T INCLUDE THE 2010. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN SUDDENLY THE TRACTION STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM LIT UP AND THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T GO PAST 35MPH. I TOOK IT TO A GMC DEALERSHIP WHO IDENTIFIED THAT THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR COVER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AS REPROGRAMMING THE ECM. THIS COULD BE HIGHLY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHILE ON AN INTERSTATE TRAVELING 60-65 MPH AND THEN SUDDENLY LOSE POWER AND NOT BEING ABLE TO GO FASTER THAN 35. *TR
THE DASHBOARD DEVELOPED A CRACK APPROX 8 INCHES LONG ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BEHIND STEERING COLUMN. THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE HEAT WAS TURNED ON TO DEFROST WINDOW. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IF THE AIRBAG SHOULD DEPLOY PIECES OF THE DASH COULD BE SENT FLYING INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND CAUSE INJURIES. GM DOES NOT WANT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
TWO LARGE CRACKS APPEARED IN MY DASH RECENTLY - NO ACCIDENT, NO SPECIAL CLEANING SOLUTION, NOTHING. ONE CRACK IS OVER THE CONTROL CONSOLE NEAR THE DRIVER SIDE AND THE OTHER IS AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE CRACK SURROUNDING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COULD POSSIBLY HINDER THE AIRBAG FROM WORKING PROPERLY OR COULD POSSIBLY EJECT SHARDS OF HARD PLASTIC INTO MY PASSENGERS IF THE AIRBAG DID DEPLOY. GM SHOULD RECALL AND REPLACE ALL THESE DASHES TO PREVENT INJURY/DEATH! *TR

MY DASH ON MY SUBURBAN IS CRACKED AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I FEEL THIS ISSUE IS A SAFETY HAZARD IF THE AIRBAG COMES OUT IT MAY THROW PLASTIC PIECES EVERYWHERE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE VEHICLE AND THE GARAGE FILLED UP WITH DARK GRAY SMOKE WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST DUE TO AN OIL CONSUMPTION LEAK. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT WORTH THE REPAIR COSTS. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED THE CONTACT A DEAL TO PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
MY DASH HAS CRACKED TWICE ON MY 2010 SUBURBAN. IT CRACKED THE FIRST TIME APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. CHEVROLET REPLACED THE DASH UNDER WARRANTY. THE DASH CRACKED AGAIN APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS LATER. THERE APPEARS TO BE SOME SORT OF DESIGN FLAW WITH THE DASH. THE DASH DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH RIGIDITY TO ACCOMMODATE THE NORMAL VIBRATIONS DURING THE DRIVING OF THE VEHICLE. THE CRACKS IN THE DASH ARE LOCATED NEXT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE DASH WILL BECOME SHRAPNEL IF THE AIRBAG EVER DEPLOYS.
DASHBOARD CRACKED IN TWO DIFFERENT SPOTS. DEALERSHIP AND GM SAID THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS HOWEVER THERE ARE NUMEROUS CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
