"TAKATA RECALL" WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG TO ISSUE THE GM RECALL. TAKATA BELIEVES THAT THE GM AIRBAGS HAVE THE SAME ISSUES THAT OTHER MANUFACTURERS' AIRBAGS HAVE HAD, BUT THE NHTSA IS DRAGGING ITS FEET REGARDING THE ISSUANCE OF THE RECALL. YOU ISSUED THE ORIGINAL RECALL 2.5 YEARS AGO. YOU HAVE HAD GM'S PETITION FOR AT LEAST A YEAR (ASSUMING IT WAS TIMELY FILED). THIS IS RIDICULOUS. WHAT COULD BE TAKING YOU SO LONG? YOU ARE PUTTING PEOPLE'S LIVES AT RISK. IS THERE A REASON THAT YOU THINK THE AIRBAGS ISSUED TO GM BY TAKATA ARE LESS DANGEROUS THAN THOSE ISSUED TO OTHER MANUFACTURERS? STOP TRYING TO HELP GM PROTECT ITS' POCKET BOOKS AT THE EXPENSE OF PEOPLE'S LIVES. DO YOUR JOB. ISSUE THE SAME RECALL THAT YOU HAVE ISSUED FOR THE OTHER MANUFACTURERS.
MY 2010 CHEVY TAHOE LTZ DASHBOARD IS CRACKED ACROSS THE TOP AND ESPECIALLY AROUND THE PASSANGER AIRBAG AREA. IT IS VERY BRITTLE AND CRACKS MORE ALL THE TIME. IF THE AIRBAG WAS TO DEPLOY IT COULD SEND SHARDS OF THE DASH BOARD THROUGH OUT THE VEHICLE, POTENTIALLY CAUSING INJURY FROM FLYING DEBRIS. I HAVE LOOKED INTO THIS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE ON THESE TRUCKS. FOR ME AND MY FAMILY'S SAFETY AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAS THIS ISSUE, I HOPE IT CAN BE LOOKED INTO AND RESOLVED BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED.
DASH IS COMPLETELY CRACKED ABOVE THE AIRBAG WHICH COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD OF FLYING DEBRIS IF THE AIRBAG SHOULD DEPLOY. ALSO THE MIDDLE BENCH SEAT 60 SIDE RANDOMLY CLOSES WHICH IS A HUGE HAZARD AS MY CHILDREN RIDE BACK THERE
LARGE CRACK DEVELOPMENT ON DASH AT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND DRIVER SIDE ON TOP OF CLUSTER THIS IS A GARAGE KEPT VEHICLE THAT HAS LESS THAN 100 MILES A MONTH SINCE PURCHASING.
TAKATA RECALL...CALLED TODAY, AUG 21,2018 TO WESELOH CHEVROLET SERVICE DEPT. CARLSBAD CA ON AIRBAG RECALL. THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS AND NO INDICATION WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THE AIRBAG AVAILABLE. WE LIVE IN A HUMID AREA WITH A CHILD AND CONCERNED OF THIS DANGEROUS AIRBAG BEING DEPLOYED. CRACK ON DASH!
DASH HAS CRACKS IN TWO LOCATIONS. MOST CONCERNING WHERE PASSENGER AIRBAG MEETS DASH. CRACKS FOUND WHEN CAR WAS NOT STATIONARY AND IS GARAGED NIGHTLY.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FROM THE CORNER OF THE AIRBAG COVER TO THE AIR VENT UNDER THE WINDSHIELD. THE CRACK WAS NOT VISIBLE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED IN MAY 2018 BUT HAS SINCE APPEARED AND GROWN AS OF JULY 2018 DURING REGULAR CITY DRIVING. WE HAVE CONCERNS THE CRACK MAY INTERFERE WITH NORMAL DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG OR CAUSE PIECES OF THE DASH TO BECOME PROJECTED THROUGH THE CABIN UPON AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
MY 2010 TAHOE HAS THE NOTORIOUS CRACK IN THE DASH AT THE PASINGER SIDE AIR BAG. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE SAME VEHICLE. I PAYED FOR IT TO BE REPLACE THE FIRST TIME AND NOW IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD TO ME AND MY FAMILY. IF WE WHERE TO BE INVOLVED IN A ACCIDENT I AM AFRAID THAT PIECES OF THE DASH COULD FLY OFF AND BECOME PROJECTILES INJURING A MEMBER OF MY FAMILY.
TAHOE SLAMS BACK INTO 2ND GEAR, GAUGES DROP TO ZERO AND CAN ONLY GO ABOUT 5MPH. THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHT COMES ON AND THE RADIO TURNS ON AND OFF BY ITS SELF ALSO THE LOCK WILL GO UP AND DOWN. THIS HAPPENS OUT OF THE BLUE 3 TIMES GOING HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL GO UP AND DOWN AS WELL. IF I SLOW DOWN TO PULL OVER AND TRY TO PICK UP SPEED TO GET OVER TH GAS PETAL SEEMS TO NOT RESPOND.I'VE BEEN FIGHTING THIS ISSUE SINCE MAY OF 2018 AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP OFF AND ON MANY MANY TIMES AND IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP FOR THE SAME THING.. I'VE ALREADY REPLACED BATTERY CABLES, TRIED A BATTERY, NEW FUSE BOX, NEW BCM ALSO FOUND SERVICE BULLETINS THAT STATES THE EXACT PROBLEM TO THE T AND NOTHING WORKS! YOU CAN GO ONLINE AND FIND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE THAT HAD THE SALES ISSUE. BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO FIX IT. I HAVE VERSIONS OF IT MESSING UP BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY THAT IT HAD THIS ISSUE AND THEN I SHOW THEM AND THEY ARE LIKE WOW THAT IS CRAZY!
BIG CRACK ON THE DASHBOARD RIGHT ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL
THE DASH HAS CRACKS IN IT ON THE TOP NEAR THE AIRBAGS, NEXT TO THE SPEAKER, AND ABOVE THE DRIVERS SIDE AND IT MAKE MAKING NOISE. HE MATERIAL USED TO MAKE THE PANEL IS WEAK AND MAY EXPLODE IF AIRBAG GOES OFF ON PASSENGER SIDE.

I HAVE A 2010 CHEVY TAHOE AND I NOTICED A CRACK ON THE TOP OF THE DASH. I AM CONCERNED THAT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT THAT THE AIR BAGS WOULD DEPLOY THAT THE DASH WOULD SEND SHARDS OF PLASTIC.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD CRACKED AROUND THE STEERING WHEEL ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 134,000.
TAKATA INFLATORS: THIS RECALL HAS BEEN IN AFFECT SINCE 2016 AND EVERY DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NO REMEDY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. WHAT IS THE HOLD UP OF GETTING THIS ISSUE FIXED? WILL IT TAKE MORE INJURIES OR DEATHS TO GET THINGS MOVING. I HAVE A 3 YR OLD WHO SITS BEHIND ME IN THE MIDDLE SEAT. IF THIS INFLATOR WOULD HAPPEN TO INFLATE AND EXPLODE, WE WOULD BOTH BE INJURED AND THAT WON'T SIT TO WELL WITH ME KNOWING THIS RECALL STARTED IN 2016.
P0300 ENGINE MISFIRE - SERVICE STABILITRAK/TRACTION CONTROL. MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRE FROM ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.
THE DASH HAS CRACKED BEHIND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THIS LEADS TO DASH MOVEMENT WHILE IN MOTION, WHICH IS DISTRACTING. ALL THE CLIPS ON THE FRONT DASH ASSEMBLY HAVE BROKEN OFF, PRESUMABLY FROM DASH MOVEMENT, WHICH LEAVES IT UNSECURED DURING A COLLISION.
DASH BOARD CRACKED FOR 3RD TIME ON DRIVERS SIDE. GM WILL NOT COVER NOW AS ITS OUT OF WARRANTY. DRIVERS SIDE MOTOR MOUNT BROKEN. KNOWN ISSUE
THE DASH HAS CRACKS IN IT ON THE TOP NEAR THE AIRBAGS, NEXT TO THE SPEAKER, AND ABOVE THE DRIVERS SIDE, I'M CONCERN IF IN ACCIDENT WHEN THE AIR BAG COME OUT THE DASH MAY SPLINTER OFF IN ALL DIRECTION, OR WHERE ONE PIECE IS BROKEN THE AIR BAGS MAY GET PUNCTURE BEFORE IT DOES IT'S JOB THE DASH NEEDS TO BE REPLACE ON A 50,000 CAR OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TAKATA RECALL - WE TOOK OUR TAHOE TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON. DEALER TOLD US THE AIRBAG WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1000. WE SEARCHED THE INTERNET TO SEE IF THE AIRBAG WAS UNDER RECALL. WE CONTACTED GM ON 12/26/17 AND WERE TOLD BY QUEL THAT THE AIRBAG WOULD BE REPLACED FOR FREE. WE WERE CONTACTED BY ANDREA ON 1/02/18 AND WERE TOLD IT WAS NOT UNDER RECALL AND THAT THE REPAIR WOULD NOT BE FREE. UPON FURTHER CONVERSATION ANDREA TOLD ME THAT GM DID NOT HAVE A REMEDY FOR THE AIRBAG AND THEREFORE WOULD NOT REPLACE IT. MY AIRBAG SEEMS TO FIT ALL THE DESCRIPTIONS WE READ FOR THE RECALL (YEAR MODEL, FRONT PASSENGER, ETC.) I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY ARE UNWILLING TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
TAKATA RECALL. AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON DUE TO A DEFECT
CRACKED DASH- I FOUND THE DASH OF MY 2010 TAHOE CRACKED BY THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. UPON DOING RESEARCH I FOUND THAT NUMEROUS OTHER CHEVY OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE AND GM CONTINUES TO DENY THAT IT IS AN ISSUE WITH THEIR VEHICLES AND DO A RECALL EVEN THOUGH THEY ALL CRACK IN THE SAME AREAS.

WITHIN THE LAST THREE MONTHS OUR TRUCK WHICH HOLDS 6 QUARTS OF OIL HAS BURNED OFF 4 QUARTS, 6 MONTHS AGO THIS PROBLEM DID NOT EXIST
THE DASH BOARD IS CRACKING AND FALLING APART. THE VEHICLE IS PARKED INSIDE THE GARAGE DAILY. JUST LIKE ALL OTHER GM MODELS OF THIS BODY STYLE. FOR WHAT THESE VEHICLES COST, THE DASH SHOULDN'T BE FALLING APART. VERY SAD ON GM'S PART.
BOUGHT MY TAHOE A YEAR AGO IN PERFECT CONDITION. I CLEAN IT 2 TO 3 TIMES A MONTH DUE TO HAVING 5 KIDS. LAST MONTH I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND HEARD A LOUD POP. THE NEXT TIME I CLEANED IT, IT HAD A CRACK TO THE RIGHT UPPER SIDE OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. 2 DAYS AGO I WAS CLEANING THE DASH AND THERE IS ANOTHER HUGE CRACK ABOVE THE STEERING COLUMN. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST MY VEHICLE AND SEE ALL THESE COMPLAINTS. I'VE ALWAYS OWNED CHEVY AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE! IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO MY BABIES BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT, I'LL OWN GM. I'M SCARED TO HAVE ANYONE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. YOU SHOULD NEVER FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE OR UNSAFE DRIVING A $24,000 VEHICLE! TAKING TO DEALERSHIP TO SEE HOW MUCH IT WILL BE TO REPLACED AND HOW MUCH MORE MONEY I'LL HAVE TO ADD TO FIX A DEFECT THAT ISN'T MY FAULT.
TAKATA FORM NOTICE WAS PRESENTED TO THE SERVICE DEPT, THEY TOLD ME TO GO TO THE SITE ON THE BACK OF THE FORM AND FOLLOW THOSE DIRECTIONS. THEY TOLD ME THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART TO REPAIR MY CAR AND DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD AND THAT CHEVROLET WAS DENYING THERE MAY EVEN BE A PROBLEM. I WANT MY AIRBAG FIXED OR REPLACED TO A SAFE SYSTEM.
THE DASH IS CRACKED ALL OVER AND CRACKED AT AIRBAG. ALSO, SUSPENSION HAD A POPPING NOISE AND HAS BEEN FIXED AND STILL MAKING NOISE.
TAKATA RECALL. THE GM DEALERS NEVER HAVE THE PART TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. THEY BLAME GM AND TAKATA FOR NOT SUPPLYING PARTS. WHEN WILL THIS BE TAKEN CARE OF?

MY 2010 TAHOE LT HAS A CRACKED DASHBOARD IN TWO PLACES. I HAVE CONCERNS THAT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT THAT THE CRACKED COMPONENTS MAY BREAK OFF AND CAUSE INJURY. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE DASHBOARD BEGAN TO FRACTURE NEAR THE SEAM OF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. THE CONTACT NOTICED A SEVERE FRACTURE ALONG THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. PREMIER CHEVROLET OF BUENA PARK IN BUENA PARK, CALIFORNIA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND TOOK PICTURES OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 8-3301312480. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
THE DASHBOARD ON MY CHEV TAHOE 2010 IS CRACKED IN TWO PLACES. I HEARD THE VERY LOUD POP SOUND WHEN IT CRACKED.
MY 2010 CHEVY TAHOE HAS DEVELOPED A CRACK IN THE UPPER DASH AREA BETWEEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG AND THE DEFROST OUTLET. THERE WAS NO OUTSIDE INFLUENCE THAT CAUSED THE CRACK AND I'M VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.
I OWN A 2010 CHEVY TAHOE, WHICH IS IN PRISTINE CONDITION AND TAKEN CARE OF REGULARLY. THERE IS A CRACK ON MY DASHBOARD THAT IS GETTING WORSE BY THE DAY. WHEN TAKEN TO THE CHEVROLET DEALER WHERE MY VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED THEY WANT $450 TO REPAIR! THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY CONCERN THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY.
WE HAVE A 2010 TAHOE. 3 YEARS AGO WE REPLACED THE BATTERY. AFTER THAT THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN HAVING THE FOLLOWING ISSUES. 1. EVERY 3-4 MONTHS THE CAR DIES WHILE DRIVING. DOOR LOCKS, LIGHTS, RADIO, ETC TURN ON AND OFF RAPIDLY WHILE DRIVING. LOSS OF POWER, STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKES BECOMES STIFFI. IT HAS DONE IT AT LEAST 3 TIMES WHILE DRIVING 70 MILES PER HOUR ON THE INTERSTATE. I AM SHOCKED THAT WE DIDN'T CRASHED. OTHER TIMES WE HAVE BEEN DRIVING 15-40 MPH. 2. BATTERY DIES WHEN CAR IS PARKED. 3. KEY REMOTE SOMETIMES WORK AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. WE BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE LOCATION WHERE THE NEW BATTERY WAS INSTALLED AND THEY INSTALLED A NEW ONE. ISSUES CONTINUE SO WE STARTED TO DO RESEARCH. WE FOUND OUT THAT SOME CHEVROLET VEHICLES HAVE ISSUES OF COMPATIBILITY WITH THE NEGATIVE CABLE OF AFTER-MARKET BATTERIES SO WE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN ELDERSBURG MD. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM AND COULD NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH WE TOLD THEM WHAT WE HAD FOUND IN OUR RESEARCH. WE PAID SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR LABOR AND WHATEVER THEY SAID THEY DID.... WE ARE STILL HAVING THE ISSUES. TODAY IT DID IT AGAIN. MY HUSBAND SAID TO PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF AND WIGGLE THE NEGATIVE CABLE. I GO TO WORK JUST TO FIND THE CAR DEAD AFTER 2 HOURS LATER. WE READ SOMEWHERE THAT THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT DOCUMENTED DUE TO THIS ISSUE. IF YOU KNOW IF ANYONE AT CHEVROLET THAT CARES OR KNOW OF SOMEONE THAT CAN ACTUALLY FIX THIS PROBLEM I WOULD APPRECIATE THE INFO. THANK YOU!
THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED IN 2 PLACES. NO PRESSURE OR FORCE HAS CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN. THE FIRST CRACK BY THE AIRBAG HAPPENED IN JULY OF 2017 AND THE SECOND ON THE STEERING SECTION HAPPENED IN MID 2019. IT HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT FOR 50% OF OWNERSHIP. *TR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KEYES CHEVROLET (5949 VAN NUYS BLVD, VAN NUYS, CA 91401), BUT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I BOUGHT A 2010 CHEVROLET TAHOE IN DECEMBER 2012 LESS THAN 2 YEARS AFTER I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE THE DASHBOARD STARTED CRACKING IN TWO PLACE-DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE AIR BAGS. THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE FROM TAHOE OWNERS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR EVERYONE RIDING IN THE VEHICLE. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL.
THERE IS A CRACK IN THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF THE DASHBOARD. I'M NOT SURE WHEN THE SPLIT OCCURRED AS THE VEHICLE HASN'T BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY ACCIDENTS OR INCIDENTS.
THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED IN TWO PLACES. NEXT TO THE AIRBAG AND ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION WHERE THE DASHBOARD WILL SEPARATE AND CREATE FLYING PROJECTILES. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS, THE DASHBOARD WILL BREAK APART AND CREATE FLYING PROJECTILES. I NOTICED THE CRACKS ON 4/16/2017.
