Component/System Failure The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) failed to function as designed. Specifically, the driver steering wheel airbag and front passenger airbag did not deploy during a collision involving frontal impact forces. The vehicle is currently retained by the insurance carrier and is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk The failure of the SRS materially increased the risk of serious bodily injury or fatality to the vehicle occupants. The driver experienced neck pain, persistent headaches, shoulder pain, back pain, weakness, cognitive fog, and a seatbelt-related neck abrasion, consistent with unmitigated crash forces. A minor passenger was present in the vehicle and was also exposed to increased injury risk due to the lack of airbag deployment. Confirmation or Reproduction of the Problem UNKNOWN. The airbag failure has not yet been evaluated by a dealer or independent service center to determine root cause. Inspections Conducted The vehicle will be inspected by insurance representatives in connection with the collision claim. A police report was completed at the time of the accident. The manufacturer has not yet inspected the vehicle or SRS components. Warnings or Prior Symptoms No airbag warning lights, SRS indicators, messages, or fault alerts were present prior to the collision. The vehicle previously underwent a manufacturer safety recall repair related to airbags, completed by an authorized repair facility more than one year before the accident. No post-repair warnings or abnormalities were observed prior to the collision. Additional Safety Concern Despite recall compliance, both front airbags failed to deploy, raising concerns of defective components, improper recall repair, or system malfunction. This failure warrants further investigation to determine whether similar vehicles may present an ongoing safety risk.
I tried to get the fan recall done. I went to Countryside Chevrolet I'm Franklin NC. They refused to do the recall. I just moved out of my house and have no address. I'm here, in Franklin NC. Trying to get the recall completed, and I need to drive to Wyoming, and I do not feel safe doing so until recall is complete. My life is in danger with the possibility of fire. And I am stuck in Franklin NC until it is completed.
Major electrical issues causing problems with the wipers, cruise control, break lights, sensor issues and much more

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the contact noticed a failure with the gear shifter. The contact stated that the gear shifter remained in neutral and failed to shift to any other gear. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle, but the failure persisted with the check engine warning light illuminated. The dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 127,666.
P265/65R18 Michelin Tires: I bought the vehicle last Fall and it had these tires. I am not sure when they were purchased, but they seem to be in good condition with plenty of tread left. However, these tires are dangerous in winter conditions. They do not grip on snow and they are absolutely dangerous if there is any ice on the roads. I have driven in Minnesota and North Dakota since I got my driver's license and these tires are probably the most dangerous tires I've ever had. This morning (10/31/2023) we had just a little bit of frozen sleet on the roads from last night and it shouldn't have impacted my driving much, but going over 35mph caused slipping and loss of traction. My 2WD Pontiac sedan has much older, more worn tires and handles ice better than my 4WD Chevrolet Tahoe with these tires. I am emailing you so that you are aware that there is a potential issue with these tires. I have already contacted the manufacturer of these tires.
Cracked dashboard in 3 separate pieces. This is safety concern with the jagged sharp point that could cause severe injury during a crash or everyday driving. Lowers value of very high end vehicle and jeopardizes the safety of the passengers in the vehicle.
Crack in passenger side dashboard at the top left of the airbag panel. It started and has quickly cracked deeper and I am concerned this will affect the safety of my passenger if the vehicle was in an accident.
The dash cracked
Dash is cracking and rattling causing loud noises and movement and distractions when driving. It has been deteriorating slowly over time but it has reached its worse point.
Brake pedal hard to push and stop vehicle when braking, could possibly be defected brake vacuum pump.

I purchased a 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ around July 10th, 2021 from an individual in Georgia. The vehicle has been immaculately maintained with no damages on it at all. I had researched any recalls on the vehicle before I even looked at it. I found that there was one for an airbag problem. Long story short, I purchased the vehicle and the previous owner took it for the recall issue to be repaired before I picked it up. About 2 weeks after I got it, I noticed that the dashboard was vibrating and that was not anything that was happening when I purchased it. I thought it might just be loose. I’m only 5 feet tall so I could not see over the domed instrument panel when driving. It was only when my daughter drove it that she was the one who noticed the very large crack. It’s cracked on both sides with the largest being on the driver’s side. The crack covers the entire dashboard from the windshield to the dome over the instrument panel. I feel that this is a serious safety issue. I have recently discovered that there was a lawsuit against GM asking for these vehicles to be recalled for this problem. Apparently it happens quite a bit!! I called the dealership that repaired the airbag issue but of course they couldn’t or wouldn’t help me. I know these dashboards are expensive to replace..upwards of $2000. I wanted to file a complaint because as I said earlier, this is a safety concern for me. Can you help?
The front dash broad is cracked. I’m scared that it will affect the airbag.

The low beam bulb on both sides of the vehicle keep going out. I have replaced each bulb at least 3 times. There is no moisture in the headlight and I don't see any electrical shorting on the harness. Malfunctioning headlights are a huge safety concern for my family and every other vehicle on the road. Also, my wife has gotten pulled over several times because of this. Almost every Chevy SUV and truck of the same year I see on the road have headlights out as well. Vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer. The headlights started failing about two years ago.

I AM WRITING TO YOU ASKING FOR ASSISTANCE IN REPLACEMENT OF MY DASHBOARD . I USE THE OCTOBER DATE AS WE HAVE NOTICED THE CRACKS OVER THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS. ONE OF THE CRACKS IS DIRECTLY ABOVE WHERE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS. I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE 10000 MEMBERS ON A CRACKED DASHBOARD SITE ON FACEBOOK. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY GM DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THIS. I AM CONCERNED IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS AND SOMEONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THEY CAN BE IMPAILEDED WITH HARD PIECES OF PLASTIC. I LOVE MY 2014 TAHOE LTZ AND HAS PLANNED ON TRADING IT IN ON A NEW TAHOE OR SUBURBAN. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS WILL IMPACT MY RESALE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE AND IM OF THE UNDERSTANDING THAT GENERAL MOTORS WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THIS AND FIX IT. I AM WORKING WITH MY DEALER BUT HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I CANNOT REALLY DETERMINE WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MOTION ETC. I JUST BELIEVE THAT THE CRACKING HAS HAPPENED OVER TIME. I USE A SUN VISOR FOR THE MOST PART AND LIVE IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA SO IT WE DO NOT HAVE EXTREME HEAT FOR THE MOST PART.
YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING HOME, MY DASHBOARD EXPLODED OPEN. I GUESS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS WHICH SHOULD BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM TO THE MANUFACTURER. AFTER SAFELY PULLING OVER I WAS ABLE TO SEE THAT I NOW HAVE A LARGE CRACK IN MY DASHBOARD. PARTS SHOT OUT OF THE DASH AND COULD HAVE HIT ME WHILE DRIVING. PLEASE INVESTIGATE!
MY 2014 CHEVROLET TAHOE HAS A 2 INCH CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE TTHAT STARTS AT THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE RECTANGULAR "CUT OUT" TO THE EDGE OF THAT PIECE OF THE DASHBOARD. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE AIR BAG IF THE CAR IS IMPACTED AND DO NOT TRUST GM'S ANALYSIS OF THIS QUESTION. FROM WHAT I AM READING ON THE INTERNET, THIS PROBLEM IS HAPPENING ALL TOO OFTEN AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY GM. THIS PROBLEM COULD ABSOLUTELY BE A SERIOUS, LIFE THREATENING ISSUE IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT.
WHILE PARKED, THE DRIVER'S FEMALE SEAT BELT BUCKLE END (PART #19121538) FREQUENTLY DOES NOT LATCH. IT USUALLY TAKES MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO LATCH. I VISITED A DEALER ON 11/5/20, TO SEE WHAT THEY WOULD DO. THEY CONTACTED GM, WHO REFUSED TO MAKE ANY REMEDY, STATING IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE. VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND THERE ARE NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF DAMAGE TO THE BUCKLE END. IT IS PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE TO LATCH. ALSO. THE PARKING BRAKE FAILS TO PROPERLY SECURE THE VEHICLE, EVEN WHEN PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. PROBABLY A POOR DESIGN, EVEN WHEN ADJUSTED PROPERLY.

The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic and had the door repaired. Recently, the contact stated that while loading groceries into his vehicle, the front passenger’s side door failed to open. The failure persisted, and while making a right turn at 25 MPH, the front passenger door inadvertently opened without warning and almost hit another vehicle. The contact was able to pull over and shut the door. The contact took the vehicle back to the same mechanic where the first repair was performed and made an appointment to have the vehicle repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE SERVICE ROAD, PREPARING TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY. SUDDENLY, THE DOOR-LOCKS STARTED GOING UP AND DOWN REPEATEDLY, AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING ON AND OFF REPEATEDLY. THEN THE ENGINE TURNED OFF WHICH MADE IT COME TO A SUDDEN HARD STOP. THE ENGINE RESTARTED ON ITS OWN. THANKFULLY, MY DEALERSHIP WAS AT THE NEAREST INTERSECTION, SO I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE 2014 TAHOE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE LOCKS CONTINUED TO GO UP AND DOWN AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS CONTINUED TO FLASH ON AND OFF AS I PULLED INTO THE DEALERSHIP. I TURNED THE CAR OFF TO GO INSIDE OF THE DEALERSHIP TO LET THE MANAGER KNOW WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED. MY HUSBAND CAME TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE MANAGER TOLD US TO PULL THE CAR AROUND TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT START AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I DID A SEARCH AND SAW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2014 CHEVROLET TAHOES FOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT COULD CAUSE IT TO STALL. A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER THE DEALERSHIP AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD TO CLOSE FOR A WHILE BECAUSE OF COVID-19, BUT WHEN THEY REOPENED THE SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL; THEREFORE, GM WILL NOT PAY FOR MY VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED. I REFUSE TO DRIVE IT IN THAT CONDITION SO I'VE TRADED IT IN FOR A NEW, NON-CHEVROLET/GM VEHICLE. DASH CRACKED/BROKEN OVER STEERING. STATIONARY. OBVIOUSLY INFERIOR/DEFECTIVE MATERIAL USED.
MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN TWO DIFFERENT AREAS. I SEE THAT MANY DASHBOARD BETWEEN 2013 AND 2017 CHEVY TAHOES HAVE CRACK. ONE OF THE CRACKS LEADS INTO THE COMPARTMENT THAT HOLDS THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG. THESE CRACKS ARE NOT FROM NEGLECT AND THESE CRABS ARE NOT FROM HEAT BECAUSE I USE SUN VISORS DAILY DUE TO THE FACT THAT I'M BLACK ON BLACK AND IT KEEPS THE CAR MUCH COOLER. I HAVE ATTACHED PICTURES AND I FEEL THAT GENERAL MOTORS SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS. THIS IS A $70,000 VEHICLE WHEN NEW. I CANNOT SAY EXACTLY WHEN I NOTICED IT FOR THE FIRST TIME BECAUSE IT IS FLAT ON THE DASHBOARD. WHILE SITTING AT A STOP SIGN ON A ROUGHLY 40 DEGREE DAY THE DASH OF MY VEHICLE CRACKED.
IT GOES BACK AND FORTH FOR NO REASON AND HAVE NO ANSWER WHY ABS TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRACK LIGHT COMES BACK AND FORTH
THIS VEHICLE ENDURED AND ACCIDENT IN 2017. STATE FARM INSURANCE COMPANY AND OTHER INSURANCE COMPANIES HAS RATED THIS VEHICLE AS HIGH RISK. THE SELLER, LAFONTAINE AUTOMOTIVE GROUP DIDN'T DISCLOSE THIS INFORMATION AND IT WAS MISSING ON THE CARFAX. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN. SWAY BARS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TRUCK WAS REPLACED WITHIN A WEEK OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE. ALTHOUGH THE DEALERSHIP SERVICED THE REPAIRS; IT'S IMPERATIVE THAT THEY RUN THOROUGH TEST PRIOR TO SELLING SAFE VEHICLES. THIS TYPE OF REPAIRED SERVICE WAS LIFE THREATENING. VIN# [XXX]. THE DRIVER COASTED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAITED UNTIL THE RAIN STOPPED TO RESUME DRIVING. THE CONTACT WAS A CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND HE REPLACED THE WIPER TRANSMISSION AND MOTOR. THE DASHBOARD IN MY VEHICLE LIKE MANY OTHER PEOPLES DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED COMPLETELY. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH ALL 2014 CHEVY TAHOE'S. I BELIEVE GM SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM FOR ME AND ALL THE OTHERS AFFECTED. THIS WILL COST ME A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF MONEY TO BE FIXED AND NOTHING WAS DONE OTHER THAN ME DRIVING AND PARKING MY CAR. I READ THIS COULD AFFECT MY AIRBAGS AS WELL.
MY DASH HAS CRACKED IN TWO AREAS; BY THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND BY THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I NOW HAVE A CONSTANT CHIRPING NOISE WHEN DRIVING.
SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START. WHEN RUNNING THE DOOR LOCKS OPEN AND CLOSE RAPIDLY, THE SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE WARNING COMES ON, THE LOW BATTERY WARNING COMES ON THEN GOES OFF, THE AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHES ON AND OFF. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE SERGES, AND STALLS COMPLETELY FOR A BRIEF MOMENT. THE BATTERY IS NEW, AND THE DEALER SAYS THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR CHECK OUT OK. THE LAST OIL CHANGE ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO, THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.
I HAVE A 2014 CHEVY SONIC AND SINCE THE FIRST SET OF NEW WIPERS THEYHAVE BEEN AN ISSUE. THE DRIVER SIDE ONE IS THE ISSUE. THEY FLY OFF WITH THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. IN TOTAL I HAVE HAD SEVEN WIPER BLADES FLY OFF ON ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING. LAST FRIDAY WE HAD MAJOR SNOW COMING DOWN QUICKLY, ON MY WAY HOME MY WIPER BLADE FLEW OFF AGAIN. THE ICE FROZE TO MY WINDSHIELD BEFORE I COULD GET TO A SAFE PARKING PLACE. IT MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE TO PULL OVER AND GET OUT OF HEAVY TRAFFIC SAFELY. I HAVE HAD CHEVY PERSONALL, AUTO ZONE, AND MY HUSBAND ALL REPLACE THE WIPERS, IT NEVER FAILS THEY STILL END UP FLYING OFF THE DRIVER SIDE.
THE VEHICLE WAS ON MOTION SMOKE JUST STARTED COMING FROM EVERYWHERE. ALSO THE VEHICLE STATRED TO OVER HEAT. THE POLICE CAME AND HELP ME TO A SAFE AREA I WAS CRYING DONT NO WHATS WRONG. CRACKING DASH BOARD. MY CAR WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW AND MY FIRST CRACK OCCURRED AT 3 YEARS OLD TO THE LEFT CORNER OF MY AIRBAG. SECOND CRACK JUST RECENTLY OCCURRED NEAR DRIVERS SIDE. CHEVROLET AND MY DEALERSHIP ARE NOT HELPING ME TO REPLACE MY DASH. MY CAR IS NOT THAT OLD AND OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY. WHEN DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY IT STARTS TO CRACK MORE AND RADDLE AND SHAKE . I AM AFRAID THAT THE DASH OR STEERING COLUMN IS GOING TO COME OFF IF THERE WERE TO BE AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE CALLED GM AND THEY HAVE NO REGARDS OR CONCERNS FOR MY SAFETY AND TOLD ME ITS MY PROBLEM.
TWO CRACK HAVE FORMED IN THE DASH SURROUNDING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT OR ANY OTHER DAMAGE AND THE DASH HAS NEVER BEEN REMOVED.
TAKATA RECALL MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKING ON MY 2014 CHEVROLET TAHOE LTZ. I HAVE CONTACTED GM AND MY DEALER THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM. GM IS DOING NOTHING ON THE PART OF HELP PAY FOR IT. THE DEALER IS GIVING A DISCOUNT. BUT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS MALFUNCTION. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND THIS IS COMMON WITH CHEVROLET TAHOE'S. I WANT TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THIS ISSUE . DASH CRACKS NEAR AIR BAG AND ABOVE STEERING WHEEL. I HAVE READ ABOUT NUMEROUS OTHER VEHICLES WITH SIMILAR DEFECTS.
DEFECTIVE CRACKED DASHBOARD. THE CRACK CONTINUES TO EXTEND AND IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT, IT COULD POTENTIALLY PUNCTURE THE AIR BAG, GREATLY COMPROMISING SAFETY. ADDITIONALLY, THE BRITTLE DASHBOARD COULD BECOME SHARP FLYING PIECES IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. I CONTACTED GM/CHEVROLET IN MAY 2018 TO REPORT THE CRACK AND WAS GIVEN A QUOTE FOR ALMOST $2000.00 TO REPLACE THE DASHBOARD. PLENTY OF DATA SHOWS THAT THE DEFECT OF GM DASHBOARDS CRACKING IS WIDESPREAD, HOWEVER, GM FAILS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THEIR FAULT AND RECALL AFFECTED VEHICLES. I AM CONTACTING YOU AS A CONCERNED OWNER AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND THAT OF MY FAMILY. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED BY GM OR THE GM DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD ME THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THEY ALL HAVE TURN A BLIND EYE TO THE ISSUE. I OWN A 2014 TAHOE WITH ONLY 34000 MILES, A VEHICLE I'M STILL PAYING FOR. A FEW WEEKS AGO, THE DASHBOARD CRACKED FOR NO REASON. I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THOUSANDS OF GM VEHICLES ARE AFFECTED BY THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE. THE CRACK NOT ONLY AFFECTS THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE BUT ALSO THE SAFETY OF THE PASSENGERS AS IT MAY PUNCTURE THE AIRBAG DURING DEPLOYMENT OR SHARP PIECES OF THE DASHBOARD CAN FLY OUT AS THE DASHBOARD IS SO BRITTLE. AS A GOVERNMENT LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER I FIND IT DISTURBING THAT THE NHTSA HAS TURNED A BLIND EYE TO THIS PROBLEM. IT IS OBVIOUS A DEFECT AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES AND IGNORING, PUTTING HUNDRES OF LIVES AT RISK TO SAVE GM'S BOTTOM LINE, IS UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE EXHAUSTED COUNTLESS HOURS DEALING WITH GM'S CUSTOMER SERVICES REPS AND THEY ALL WORK OUT OF A UNIFIED SCRIPT AND REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM AND REPLACE THE PART. NOW I FIND MYSELF DRIVING A TIME BOMB WITH MY FAMILY IN IT. I AM BEGGING YOUR AGENCY TO LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE AGAIN AND TO NOT LOOK THE OTHER WAY. I RISK MY LIFE FOR THIS COUNTRY EVERY DAY TO PROTECT YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES AND I EXPECT YOU TO DO THE SAME FOR ME AND MINE.
MY TAHOE HAS ONLY 40,000 MI. WHEN BRAKING THE VEHICLE SHAKES AND SHIVERS ESPECIALLY WHEN BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I REPLACED MY TIRES EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE ONLY HALF WORN TO SEE IF THAT WAS THE PROBLEM BUT IT DIDN'T CHARGE ANYTHING. #2 COMPLAINT IS MY REAR DOORS FILL WITH WATER WHEN IT RAINS. AFTER LOOKING UP THIS PROBLEM ON LINE,IT APPEARS THAT THEY ARE MADE TO DO THAT AND I DO THINK THAT SHOULD BE THAT WAY!
Similar to many other complaints previously filed, the dash board on my 2014 Tahoe has numerous cracks. The cracks were first identified in April 2018 and have continued to grow in size and number. It has been inspected by a Riverside Chevrolet in Wetumpka, AL but this is not a part of a current safety recall. There is significant and growing concern that if the vehicle is involved in an accident that the passenger-side airbag will not work properly (having been cut by sharp pieces of the broken dash) or will propel pieces of the dash toward the occupants of the vehicle. This needs to be investigated so that GM will be forced to issue a safety recall for this known problem.
My dash is cracked in 3 places. One is around the passenger airbag. If the air bag is deployed it could send jagged edges into the face of a passenger. Very unsafe and GM just ignores the problem. I had a cracked dash with a Lexus and they replaced the dash no problem. Why won’t GM fix this problem?
