HEARD LOTS OF NOISES. AT 51,225 MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES FOUND VEHICLE NEEDED: (1) DIFFERENTIAL COVER GASKET (2) PINION SHAFT SEAL (3) EXTENSION HOUSING SEAL (4) THERMAL FAN CLUTCH COST: $1,800 LEFT ALONE, FAILED SEALS AND GASKET WILL CAUSE COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE, FAILED FAN CLUTCH WILL CAUSE ENGINE SEIZING, FIRE. *NM
DOUBLE FAILURE OF 4-WHEEL DRIVE INDICATORS. 4-WHEEL DRIVE FAILED BUT THE "SERVICE LIGHT" DID NOT APPEAR ON THE DASH AND THE LED LIGHT ON THE 2WD/AWD/4-HI/4-LO SWITCH DID NOT DISPLAY CORRECTLY. BECAUSE WE WERE UNAWARE THAT BOTH INDICATORS WERE NOT WORKING AND THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE WAS NOT WORKING WE ATTEMPTED TO GO OVER A MOUNTAIN PASS DURING SNOW CONDITIONS UNDER THE ASSUMPTION THAT THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE WAS WORKING CORRECTLY. I WAS BRINGING MY MOTHER HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL AFTER A HEART PROCEDURE. LUCKILY I WAS DRIVING CAREFULLY, BECAUSE THE VEHICLE DID BEGIN TO LOSE CONTROL, BUT I WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE NECESSARY CORRECTIONS. WE WERE FORCED TO TURN AROUND AND TAKE ANOTHER ROUTE, WHICH DOUBLED THE LENGTH OF OUR DRIVE. THIS NORMALLY WOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM EXCEPT FOR MY MOTHER'S CONDITION. *NM
DT: THE CONTACT DISCOVERED A SMALL CRACK ALONG THE NECK OF THE GAS TANK ALLOWING VISIBLE LEAKAGE WHEN FILLING UP WITH GASOLINE OR WHILE DRIVING. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THERE WAS A LEAK ON THE FILLER PIPE OF THE GASOLINE STORAGE TANK ASSEMBLY. DUE TO THE MILEAGE THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALER DID HOWEVER OFFER COST ASSISTANCE BY SPLITTING THE REPAIR COST. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE AT THIS TIME. *AK UPDATED 11/30/2005 - *NM
DT: THE CONTACT PULLED THE FUSE ON THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS INTERMITTENTLY DID NOT STOP, THEY WERE CONTINUALLY RUNNING. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH COULD BE TURNED OFF AND THE WIPERS WOULD STILL BE WORKING. THEY WERE BEGINNING TO SCRATCH THE WINDSHIELD. THE CONTACT SPOKE TO DEALERSHIP AND GM. THEY CLAIMED THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA RECALL 04V046000. DUE TO VIN.*AK
FRONT HEADLIGHT BURNED OUT IN NOVEMBER 2005 REPLACED LIGHT BULB. BURNT OUT AGAIN WENT TO DINSDALE CHEVY TO GET REPLACED SAID THAT THE WIRE WAS MELTED AND BURNED AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. I ASKED HOW THAT COULD HAPPEN AND THEY SAID IT WAS PROBABLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I ASKED IF THAT MEANS THEY WOULD REPLACE IT AND THEY SAID NO IT WOULD COST $132 TO REPAIR. I COULDN'T AFFORD THAT SO I BOUGHT THE PART AND HAD TO WIRE IT MYSELF. *JB
THE GAS TANK HAD A MANUFACTURE DEFECT AS THE WELD ON THE TANK CRACKED AND WAS LEAKING. *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LTZ. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE'S WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT TURN OFF. THE CONTACT HAS TO REMOVE THE FUSE TO DEACTIVATE THEM AND PLACE THE FUSE BACK TO ACTIVATE THEM AGAIN. SHE WAS TOLD THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL # 04V046000 (VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER). THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 103,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. UPDATED 09/05/07 *TR
DT: CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER . WHILE DRIVING ON ROAD ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON . VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES TO HAVE THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT RESET . MECHANIC TOLD THE CONTACT THAT IT WAS A CRACK IN THE GAS TANK THAT WAS CAUSING ENGINE CHECK LIGHT TO COME ON. CONSUMER FELT THAT SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS . SHE FELT THAT THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE.*AK
SHORTLY AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED ON OUR TRAIL BLAZER, THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED GIVING FALSE READINGS OR WOULD QUIT WORKING. WE TALKED TO THE SELLING DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE REPAIR WOULD COST ABOUT 500.00 DOLLARS. TO ME THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY GENERAL MOTORS AT NO COST TO US. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT GM IS REPLACING SPEEDOMETERS ON OTHER MODELS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.*CN
MY VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN THE CRAIN ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FOR THE TRANSMISSION, LEADING UP TO THIS INCIDENT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO CRAIN ON SEPTEMBER 26, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY GONE. OF COURSE, THEY QUOTED ME A PRICE OF $2,000.00 WHICH I FEEL THAT I SHOULDN'T BE OUT OF POCKET FOR ANYTHING BECAUSE I REPEATEDLY TOOK THE VEHICLE IN BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WASN'T SHIFTING PROPER. OF COURSE, THEY SENT ME ON MY WAY AND STATED THAT THERE WASN'T A MECHANICAL PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE SERVICE ADVISOR PULLED ALL OF MY SERVICE TICKETS THAT SHOWED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT IN FOR THE TRANSMISSION....THEY THEN AGREED TO SPLIT THE AMOUNT WITH ME; HOWEVER, I FEEL AS THOUGH I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO SPLIT THE COST BECAUSE I MADE SEVERAL TRIPS TO CRAIN'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO THIS LAST VISIT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. *NM
I HAVE A 03 TB 2WD I HAVE NOTICED RECENTLY THAT IT IS NOT CHANGING GEARS PROPERLY. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE PROBLEM APPEARED THREE MORE TIMES. THEN THE LIGHT WENT OFF AND THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THE "MACHINE" AND ALL THEY COULD FIND WRONG WAS MY O2 SENSOR. THEY SAID I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE GAS SENSOR. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION.(THIS IS WHAT THEY SAID) THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE NOT WORRIED ABOUT IT. I TOLD THEM I WAS ABOUT TO DRIVE THE CAR ON A TRIP 1,000 MILES ONE WAY. NO PROBLEMS THEY SAID. I CALLED AND QUESTIONED THE DEALERSHIP AND HE ACTED VERY SURPRISED BY THIS. SAYS HE HASN'T SEEN A "PROBLEM" WITH THE TRANSMISSION. ONE OF MY CO-WORKERS DAUGHTER ALSO HAS A TRAILBLAZER AND HERS HAS STARTED TO ACT UP AS WELL, AND GUESS WHAT IT IS THE SAME THING AS MINE. SUBJECT:REDUCED POWER PROBLEM WITH TRAILBLAZER COMMENTS: I HAVE A TWO YEAR OLD CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT HAS ON THREE OCCASIONS HAD A DRAMATIC LOSS OF POWER AND A REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT COMES ON AND LOSES ALL ACCELERATION. TWICE THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY, AND I FEARED FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY TODDLER, AS MY CAR SLOWED FROM 65 MPH TO 40 MPH IN A MATTER OF SECONDS, AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH AN ELECTRONIC SENSOR TO THE ACCELERATOR. I HAVE TRIED TO RAISE THIS WITH CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE, WHO BLATANTLY DISREGARDED MY SAFETY CONCERNS AND TOLD ME THAT MY CONCERNS WOULD GO NO FURTHER UP THAN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK LEVEL AND THEY COULD OFFER ME NO ASSISTANCE. BASED ON MY RESEARCH, THIS IS A DOCUMENTED MANUFACTURING DEFECT, HOWEVER, GM REFUSES TO RECALL ANY CARS AND CLAIMS THAT THE BULLETIN DOCUMENTING THE PROBLEM ONLY SERVES TO ASSIST DEALERS IN THE REPAIR. I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL TRAILBLAZER OWNERS, AND BELIEVE THAT CHEVY AND GM NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED FOR IGNORING THIS DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE. FROM NHTSA WEB SITE. *NM
WHEN FILLING UP MY GAS TANK, IT REGULARLY OVERFLOWS BEFORE THE AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF A THE PUMP. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED AT VARIOUS GAS STATIONS, AND FROM RESEARCH, FOUND THAT THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS GAS WILL OFTEN SPILL ON MY CLOTHES, SHOES AND THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. NOT TO MENTION THE ASTRONOMICAL COST OF GAS THESE DAYS! I CAN'T AFFORD THIS PROBLEM. HOW CAN IT BE FIXED AND IF IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM, WHY HASN'T A RECALL BEEN ISSUED? *NM
WHILE BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY THE STEERING BECAME VERY HARD AND STIFF WHEN I TRIED TO TURN LEFT. ON THE SAME DAY, WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME STIFF AGAIN AND I HAD TROUBLE TURNING. WHEN PARKING AT WORK, I COULD NOT TURN LEFT OR RIGHT WITHOUT FIRST PUTTING SERIOUS EFFORT INTO TURNING. MIGHT BE A BAD STEERING PUMP, BUT MOST LIKELY RACK AND PINION ISSUES. ALSO, I CHECKED THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS LOW. STEERING FAILURE MAY LEAD TO A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE THE CAR DEALER ABOUT THIS SINCE THIS IS MOST LIKELY COVERED UNDER GM WARRANTY. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2005 AT 25612 MILES WHO DETERMINED THE ROTORS WERE RUSTED AND NEEDED TO BE TURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON JUNE 5, 2006 FOR A 30000 MILE CHECK UP AND AGAIN THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE TURNED. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ADMITTED THE FRONT AND REAR ROTORS NEED TO BE REPLACED. BASED ON THE CONTACT'S UNDERSTANDING THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT ALLOW THE DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THE ROTORS UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT ALERTED THE MANUFACTURER AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED CASE # 1-414411237. THE LEFT FRONT AXLE SEAL WAS REPLACED. UPDATED 06/19/06. *JB

BRAKES FRONT & REAR, CLIMATE CONTROL, WINDSHIELD WIPERS, REAR TAIL LIGHTS. *JB
2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER DEVELOPED PROBLEMS WITH THE SEAT BELT EQUIPMENT.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR AT TIMES THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT COULD NOT BE PULLED FORM THE RETRACTOR. TWO DIFFERENT DEALER HAVE INSPECTED THE VEHICLE BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG, THEREFORE THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE IT UNDER WARRANTY. *NM
(1) I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE (2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER 4WD) IN MAY OF 2003. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO BE FIXED ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS. NAMELY RECALLS. AROUND AUGUST OF 2005, MY REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW CEASED FUNCTIONING. THE REAR WINDOWS OF MY CAR HAVE BEEN THE LEAST USED AND FOR THE FOREMENTIONED WINDOW TO CEASE FUNCTIONING SEAMED ODD. (2) BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE OF THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW, I HAVE TO PROP THE WINDOW IN PLACE TO PREVENT RAIN FROM COMING IN AND RUINING MY VEHICLE INTERIOR. (3) NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THIS FAILURE. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR BY THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY WISH TO CHARGE MY AROUND $250 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM CAPABLE OF FIXING THE PROBLEM MYSELF FOR JUST UNDER $100. VEHICLE IS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE AT THE TIME (WHICH WAS UNDER THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY DATE) I HAD EXCEEDED THE 36,000 MILE MARK BY ABOUT 4-5K MILES. AS A SIDE NOTE, I HAVE SPOKEN WITH A COUPLE OF OTHER TRAILBLAZER OWNERS AND OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE WINDOW REGULATOR, ITS DESIGN ALLOWS FOR THE PULLEY CHORDS THAT CONNECT TO THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE WINDOW TO GET CAUGHT WITH IN THE REGULATOR. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, TOO MUCH STRESS AND STRAIN IS PUT ON THE PLASTIC REGULATOR AND A BREAK WILL OCCUR. *NM
YOU START TO HEAR A NOISE WHEN THE WINDOW IS BEING PUT UP OR DOWN, THEN EVENTUALLY THE MECHANICS OF THE WINDOW BREAK AND THE WINDOW FALLS INTO THE SOCKET AND WILL NOT GO UP OR DOWN. TWO OF MY WINDOWS NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED, COSTING ME SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS LATER. SAME SITUATION IN TWO OF MY FRIENDS CARS. SAME MAKE AND MODEL. *JB
TOOK TRAILBLAZER INTO CHAMPION CHEVROLET AND THEY REPLACED TURN SIGNAL MODULE DUE TO SHORT CIRCUIT . HAZARD FLASHERS COME ON WHEN DRIVER MOVES TURN SIGNAL LEVER UP OR DOWN. SPOKE TO CHEVROLET REGARDING POSSIBLE RECALL AND WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL BECAUSE THE RECALL INVOLVES VIN#'S WITH THE LAST FOUR DIGITS ENDING IN 362 AND MINE ENDS IN 361. I BELIEVE THERE MAY BE OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE AND THIS CAUSES A SAFETY PROBLEM. *NM
THE TRANSMISSION ON MY 2003 TRAILBLAZER STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND ONTO THE HIGHWAY. ALL GEARS INCLUDING NEUTRAL GRIND GEARS WHEN ENGAGED. THE CAR COULD NOT BE DRIVEN AND NEEDED TO BE TOWED TO THE TRANSMISSION SHOP. THIS CAS HAS NEVER BEEN TOWED OR PLOWED AND RARELY USES 4 WHEEL DRIVE (WINTERS ONLY). IT NOW HAS 39K MILES AND OUT OF WARRANTY, HOWEVER, I NOW REALIZE THAT THERE HAS BEEN MANY TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS LIKE MINE IN EARLIER YEAR MODELS AS WELL AS THE 2003. I WOULD LIKE THIS ORGANIZATION TO INVESTIGATE THE POSSIBLE FLAW IN GM'S TRANSMISSION USED IN THESE VEHICLES. THANK YOU.
DT: CONTACT STATES TANK GAS CRACKED IN JUNE AND SHE HAD A NEW ONE PUT ON. THEY DID NOT NOTICE ANYTHING WRONG PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING.. THEY NOTICED A GAS LEAK, AND THAT WAS WHEN THEY REPLACED THE GAS TANK. SHE BOUGHT NEW TIRES ON 7-7-05 ,AND NOW THEY DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL BEARING FAILED. ALSO, HEARD A ROARING NOISE, AND TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER ON 7-20-05. SHE HAS NOT TALKED TO THE MANUFACTURER YET. THE CAR HAS 63,000 MILES ON IT. VEHICKE IS A 2003 GM TRAILBLAZER. *AK
DT: THE CONSUMER OWNED 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND WAS HAVING ROTOR PROBLEMS. THE VEHICLE HAS 33,000 MILES ON IT. THE ROTORS WERE PITTED AND WARPED ON THE INSIDE . THE TOTAL COST WAS $838.00 TO REPLACE THEMT. BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE ROTORS. THE BRAKES WERE SQUEAKING AND VIBRATING WHEN TO TRYING TO COME TO A STOP. TALSO, HE BRAKES SQUEAKED IN REVERSE. T OWNER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. THE VEHICLE HAS NOW BEEN REPAIRED BY THE MECHANIC.THE OWNER HA NOT CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THE OWNER KNEW THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. *AK
DURING NORMAL OPERATION MY VEHICLE'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE ACCELERATION BECAME SLUGGISH. AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE "PUTTED" AND THEN STALLED. AFTER PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK IT RESTARTED FINE, HOWEVER THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY OUT OF WARRANT DUE TO MILEAGE SO I HAVE NOT YET TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT WILL IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN.
MY SEATBELT LIGHT COMES ON. I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR CORRECTION ALONG WITH OTHER MAINTENANCE ISSUES I HAD ABOUT MY VEHICLE. ALL THIS IS UNDER WARRANTY. AFTER REGULAR MAINTENANCE IS TAKEN CARE OF THE SEATBELT LIGHT STAYS ON. THE LIGHT NEVER GETS FIXED OR GOES OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT THAT MAKES THE BAGS DEPLOY. I BRING THE TRUCK BACK MANY TIMES BUT THE ISSUE NEVER GETS TAKEN CARE OF. NOW THAT THE WARRANTY IS OFF THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $1000 FOR REPAIRS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF UNDER THE WARRANTY AND THE TRUCK WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION UNTIL THIS GETS TAKEN CARE OF.. *TR

I HAVE A 2003 CHEVY TRAIL BLAZER EXT. I HAVE HAD 4 RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE AND WAS WATCHING THE LOCAL NEWS AND HEARD OF THE 5TH...REAR GLASS HATCH WINDOW OPENS WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION EVEN TELLS ME SO ON MY DASH. CALLED GM TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL SENT OUT , TECH SAID NOTHING LISTED . ACCORDING TO THE NEWS REPORT THIS INFO CAME FROM GM . CALLED THE DEALER THEY SENT A TOWED TRUCK AND SAID IT WAS THE IGNITION SWITCH AND REPLACED IT. I DONT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR ANY MORE.A CAR THAT STOPS SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING IS VERY DANGEROUS.

DRIVERS SEAT WILL MOVE TO THE "EXIT POSISTION" WHILE DRIVING. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED THE DRIVER WAS PULLED AWAY FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN AND DROVE OFF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIME FOR REPAIR WITH NO LUCK.
DT: THE OWNER WENT TO OPEN THE GLASS ON THE TAILGATE ,AND WHEN THE OWNER HAD HER HAND ON THE HANDLE TO LIFT THE GLASS IT EXPLODED FROM THE TAILGATE. THE WERE NO PRIOR PROBLEMS WITH THE TAILGATE. DEALER REPLACED THE GLASS WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE OWNER'S CHILD SUSTAINED INJURIES IN THIS INCIDENT, SHE HAD A SMALL CUT ON HER HAND, ON HER CHEEK, AND A LARGE CUT ON HER FACE ABOVE HER EYEBROW.*AK
2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER DEVELOPED PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL. *MR THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD FADE INTERMITTENTLY WHEN STOPPING. THE CONSUMER WOULD BE AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE PEDAL WOULD RELEASE AND WOULD GO THE FLOOR. THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD NO RESISTANCE UNTIL THE PEDAL WAS SIGNIFICANTLY DEPRESSED. *SC
THE LEFT REAR DOOR FAILS TO LATCH CLOSE. THE ONLY WAY I FOUND TO KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED IS TO OPERATE THE INSIDE DOOR RELEASE LEVER MANY (30-80 TIMES) AND TRY CLOSING THE DOOR EVER SO OFTEN. IT APPEARS THAT THE DOOR FAILS TO LATCH MOST OFTEN WHEN IT HASN'T BEEN USED FOR A COUPLE WEEKS. I HAVE SPRAYED LUBRICATING OIL/SOLUTION INTO THE LATCHING MECHANISM SEVERAL TIMES. EACH TIME THE PROBLEM WILL GO AWAY FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND THEN IT FAILS TO LATCH AGAIN. I INTEND ON BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY CAN DO ANYTHING. *JB

THE BLOWER FAN FOR THE HEATING & AIR CONTIONING SYSTEM FAILED, DUE TO A DEFECTIVE DESIGN OR POOR WORKMANSHIP IN THE OUTSIDE AIR SUPPLY DUCT, ALLOWING SMALL ANIMALS (LIKE MICE & CHIPMUNKS) TO GET INSIDE.THE CHEVROLET DEALER REPLACED THE BLOWER MOTOR, CHARGING ME $187.87 FOR THE REPAIR,SAYING THAT IT'S NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. MY 2003 TRAILBLAZER SHOULD BE COVED BY GM'S WARRANTY. THIS REPAIR DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM OF SMALL ANIMALS GETTING TO THE BLOWER MOTOR.*AK

I OWN A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. I HAVE BEEN SMELLING GAS FUMES FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS AND WHEN I HAVE TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIPS THEY STATED THAT IT WAS JUST "SPILLAGE AND NORMAL" FOR THAT TYPE OF CAR. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY AUTOZONE PERSONNEL THAT THE "CODE" INDICATES SOME KIND OF EMISSIONS LEAK. WHEN REVIEWING THE OPEN COMPLAINTS, I NOTICED THAT THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING. IT IS MOSTLY WHEN I FILL UP MY GAS TANK OVER 1/2 A TANK. DEALER WAS CONTACTED JAN 2005 TO SCHEDULE REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR REAR LIGHTS AS PART OF THE RECALL. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT DO IT WITHOUT THE RECALL NOTICE NUMBER THAT WAS SENT TO ME. CALLED BACK A DAY LATER AND GAVE THE DEALER THE NUMBER FROM THE RECALL NOTICE. HE TOLD ME THAT THE PARTS WOULD NEED TO BE ORDERED AND THEY WOULD CALL ME. I RECEIVED A THIRD RECALL NOTICE FROM CHEVROLET ON 2/26/05 AND CALLED THE DEALER ON 3/2/05 AND SPOKE WITH A MAN IN SERVICE. HE TOLD ME THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT ORDERED AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO BRING THE CAR IN FOR THEM TO ORDER THE PARTS AND THEN AGAIN WHEN THE PARTS COME IN. I HAVE EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT I HAVE REPLACED 6 TAILLIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHTS WITHIN THE LAST 6 MONTHS AND WHY WASN'T I INFORMED OF THIS WHEN I CALLED BEFORE. I HAVE A HAD TO REPLACE MY DRIVER SIDE FRONTAL AIR BAG TWICE ALREADY THIS IS GOING ON MY THIRD TIME IN THE LAST YEAR. USING DIFFERENT COMPANIES. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE WIRING AND THE CONNECTOR IN THE HORN OF THE STEERING WHEEL, AND IT WILL NOT STAY CONNECTED. WHILE PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN 4-WHEEL DRIVE IT BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. VEHICLE RAN INTO A GUARD RAIL AND ROLLED DOWN INTO A DITCH. OWNER CONTACTED THE DEALER, WHO SAID IT WAS THE FAULT OF THE DRIVER. LATER, DEALER CONTACTED THE OWNER, AND INFORMED HIM THAT THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE KEY WAS BROKEN. *AK *BF *NM
WITHOUT ANY SQUEALING IN THE DAYS AND WEEKS BEFORE THE BRAKE FAILURE, AS I WOULD EXPECT FROM DETERIORATING BRAKES, THE BRAKES ON MY 2003 TRAILBLAZER EXT FAILED. FORTUNATELY, THE METAL TO METAL SOUND HEARD ON FEB. 4, 2005, ALERTED MY WIFE TO CALL OUR LOCAL CHEVY SERVICE CENTER. AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE, THIS CAR HAD 29,000 MILES ON IT. NOT ONLY DID THE DEALER FIND THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE DIGGING INTO THE ROTOR SURFACE, BUT THEY FOUND THE REAR BRAKES WORN LOW AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE PORTION OF THE ROTOR ROTTED. AT 29,000 MILES, TOTAL BRAKE OVERHAUL SHOULD NOT OCCUR. WHY HAD THE EMRGENCY BRAKE PORTION OF THE ROTOR ROTTED? WHEN MY WIFE CALLED THE 800 NUMBER TO REPORT THIS TO CHEVROLET, LISA KOINE, CHEVY'S REPRESENTATIVE, CALLED THE DEALER TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE SERVICE PEOPLE AT BRADY-STANNARD IN BREWSETE, NY, SHE RETURNED OUR CALL AND TOLD US THE BRAKE FAILURE WAS DUE TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. GIVE ME A BREAK.SINCE WHEN DO CONSUMERS HAVE TO PAY #1276.79 FOR A COMPLETE BRAKE OVERHAUL AT 29,000 MILES? SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, I NOTICED THE LEFT SIDE ROTORS HAD RUSTED. I CALLED THE DEALER AND TOOK THE CAR IN FOR INSPECTION. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS IS NORMAL. I QUESTION THIS. I OWNED AN ISUZU TROOPER PRIOR TO THIS CAR, AND THE BRAKES WERE NOT REPLACED UNTIL 92,000 MILES. WHAT KIND OF INFERIOR PARTS IS CHEVROLET USING?
AS I AM GOING DOWN THE ROAD THE TACHOMETER STARTS TO JUMP AROUND AND THEN I LOSE THE DIRECTIONALS AND MY LIGHTS. IF I TURN OFF THE IGNITION IT WILL NOT START AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. THE DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THAT FUSE #22 IS BLOWING. AS OF TODAY, MY TRUCK IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING IT. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE FUSE EACH TIME. THEY ALSO REPLACED THE INSTUMENT CLUSTER AND THE IGNITION LOCK. I AM SEEKING LEGAL ADVISE.
