TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE, BUT COULD NOT EXIT BECAUSE THE LOCK SYSTEM FAILED. IN ADDITION, THE SPEEDOMETER REMAINS AT 30 MPH. THE CONTACT FOUND OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM CONSUMERS WHO WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL LIGHTS REMAIN ILLUMINATED AND FAIL TO DIM. THE GAUGES ALSO DO NOT WORK. THE DEALER STATED THTA IT WOULD COST BETWEEN $70-$85 TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 41,600. 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LT MODEL HAD DEFECTIVE SPEEDOMETER. CONSTANTLY SHOWING WRONG SPEED, AND STUCK BETWEEN 50 AND 120 MPH EVEN WHEN PARKED. *TR
BATTERY WENT DEAD AFTER THE CAR SAT A WEEK. DEALER REPLACE THE BATTERY AND SAID THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CHECKED FINE. NEXT DAY VOLTMETER PEGGED PAST NUMBER, TACH AND SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING. NOW DEALER SAYS THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDS REPLACING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER READ 110 MPH. IN ADDITION, THE RPM DISPLAY WAS FAILING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER IS STUCK AT 110 MPH AND HAS NOT CHANGED WITH CONTINUOUS DRIVING. HE IS IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PANEL WAS FAILING. THE REPAIR WOULD COST $500. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,900.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. HIGHBEAMS AND FOGS STILL WORK. PROBLEM GOES AWAY AFTER VEHICLE SITS TURNED OFF. OCCURANCES GETTING MORE FREQUENT. VERY DANGEROUS. *TT
2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER SPEEDOMETER IS CONSISTENTLY INCORRECT. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL FREQUENTLY RESET THE POINT OF ZERO MPH. E.G. ZERO WILL BE SET AT 50 MPH SO WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY TRAVELING 20 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER WILL READ 70 MPH. THE ONLY WAY TO RESET THE POINT OF ZERO IS TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND START THE CAR OVER AND OVER AGAIN, LOWERING THE POINT OF ZERO BY ABOUT 5 MPH AT EACH VEHICLE START. *TR
I OWN A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LT AND IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS MY SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING. IT FREEZES EITHER AT 10 MPH OR GOES ALL OVER THE 120 MPH. WHEN I RECEIVED MY RECENT OIL CHANGED I ASKED FOR THEM TO CHECK IT AND THAN SAID THEY WOULD NEED TO REPLACE CLUSTER KIT TO THE TUNE OF $500.00. BUT THEY WANTED ME TO CHECK WITH GM AND SEE IF THERE WAS RECALL BECAUSE THEY HAVE SEEN SEVERAL 2004 TRAILBLAZERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN I LOOKED UP GM THERE WAS NO RECALL ISSUED, SO NOW I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO GET IT FIXED. I WAS TOLD TO FILE A COMPLIMENT. *TR
ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS: CAR WILL DIE WITHOUT WARNING (TOOK THIS TO CHEVY AND THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM, LOW BEAMS REPEATEDLY GO OUT AFTER CHANGING FUSE, SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY, FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY, FRONT A/C WILL NOT BLOW EVER, DIFFERENT PANEL LIGHTS DO NOT WORK, PANEL BUTTONS FUNCTION INCORRECTLY. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT DISPLAY THE CORRECT SPEED. CAUSING THE DRIVER TO DRIVE AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS. THE GAUGE WILL STICK AT 25MPH OR NOT WORK AT ALL. THE DRIVER HAS TO GUESS AT WHAT SPEEDS THEY ARE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY SO SOMETIMES THE SPEED IS CORRECTLY DISPLAYED AND MOST OF THE TIME IT IS INCORRECT. I CONTACTED GM DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR OPTIONS AND THE PRICE FOR THE PART ALONE IS $400. I CONTACTED GM THEY TOLD ME NO RECALL OR "SPECIAL POLICY" COVERED MY VEHICLE. BUT THERE IS A "SPECIAL POLICY" FOR OTHER GM TRUCKS OF THE SAME YEAR. THE POLICY COVERS THE EXACT PROBLEM WITH THE GAUGE CLUSTER OR INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE NUMBER IS BULLETIN NUMBER: 07187A. BEING UNABLE TO DRIVE AT KNOWN SPEEDS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITION. *TR
FAILURE OF THE GAUGE CLUSTER ON A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER CURRENTLY WITH 59,300 MILES. ABOUT JUNE 2009 THE TACH CONTINUALLY READ INCORRECTLY. DEALER TRIED TO MISLEAD ME TO BRING IT IN FOR A DIAGNOSIS AT A COST OF APPROX. $100 I TOLD THEM ITS BROKE WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR A DIAGNOSIS. I HAD READ ABOUT THE PROBLEM ON -LINE AT EDMUNDS,COM.,MY SUV HAD 41,000 TO 42,000 MILES ON IT. IN JULY 2010 MY GAS GAUGE STARTED TO OCCASIONALLY MALFUNCTION, NOW JAN. 2011 IT IS INCORRECT. IN NOV. 2010 MY CHARGING GAUGE STARTED MALFUNCTIONING. I ALSO HAVE SINCE READ ONLINE OF THE SAME PROBLEM ON OTHER SIMILAR YEAR GM TRUCKS ANS SUV AND THEY HAVE RECALLS ON THEM. ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME FOR THE SPEEDOMETER GAUGE TO READ INCORRECTLY. PLEASE HELP, THESE MALFUNCTIONS ARE NOT SAFE. *LN
WE HAVE A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. ALL GAUGES BUT THE TACHOMETER COMPLETELY STOP WORKING. THEY WILL WORK IN THE MORNING, BUT WHEN I LEAVE WORK THEY STOP WORKING. STARTED UP TRUCK TO WARM UP AFTER ABOUT 3 MINUTES HEARD BANG AND BOTH FRONT AIRBAGS HAD DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. PRIOR TO THIS HAD ISSUE WITH INTERMITTENT DASH BOARD LIGHTS (BATTERY, SPEED ODOMETER, SEATBELT AND AIRBAG LIGHTS) BEING ON. GM REFUSES TO COVER BECAUSE I DID NOT TAKE TO "DEALER". I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC INSTEAD WHO COULD FIND NO ISSUE OTHER THAN CORRODED GROUNDS. CURRENTLY IT IS BEING REPAIRED BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY. *TR
SPEEDOMETER AND TACH WORK INTERMITTENTLY. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, DRIVERS NEED TO BE AWARE OF THE SPEED THEY ARE TRAVELING. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT DISPLAY CORRECT SPEED, WILL SHOW 80 MPH WHEN ONLY GOING 35 TO 40 MPH. WHEN TURNING OFF ENGINE NEEDLE WILL NOT GO BACK TO ZERO. VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
MY 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER 4WD HAS 41,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. RECENTLY THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON (SES) LIGHT BECAME ILLUMINATED. PERSONAL INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE REVEALED A SMALL CRACK IN THE PLASTIC FUEL TANK. THE CRACK WAS LOCATED AT THE "WELD" OR JOINT WHERE THE PLASTIC FUEL FILL PIPE CONNECTS TO THE TANK. THIS FILL PIPE ALSO HOUSES THE FUEL TANK INLET CHECK VALVE (ICV). AS MY VEHICLE WAS PAST THE THREE-YEAR - 36,000 MILE WARRANTY PERIOD I ATTEMPTED TO GLUE THE LEAKING CRACK. THIS HELD FOR A FEW WEEKS, THE SES LIGHT WENT OUT AND THERE WAS NO ODOR OR APPEARANCE OF GASOLINE LEAKING FROM THE AREA. EVENTUALLY, THOUGH, THE LEAK RETURNED, EVIDENCED BY THE SES LIGHT ILLUMINATION AND GASOLINE LEAKING FROM THE REPAIRED AREA. ANOTHER REPAIR ATTEMPT WAS MADE AND IS CURRENTLY UNDER OBSERVATION. THIS EXACT PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE DETAILED IN GENERAL MOTORS DOCUMENT ID# 1985459; SUBJECT: SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT - FUEL TANK INLET CHECK VALVE FRACTURE #07099 - (06/07/2007). THIS REFERENCED DOCUMENT ONLY PERTAINS TO 2002-2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT AND GMC ENVOY XL, BOTH LONGER WHEELBASE MODELS THAN MY STANDARD LS MODEL. UPON MY DISCOVERY OF THIS MANUFACTURER KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE MODEL, I TOOK MY TRAILBLAZER TO THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER TODAY. THE SERVICE CONSULTANT SAID HE WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH MY PROBLEM AND WAS UNABLE TO ACCESS THE COMPUTER DATABASE FOR ANY RELEVANT DOCUMENTS FOR MY VEHICLE. HE DID TAKE A COPY OF THE ABOVE REFERENCED SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT DOCUMENT AND PROMISED A RETURN CALL TOMORROW. *TR

THERE WAS NO WARNING PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILED. THE REPAIR WOULD COST $100. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT NO COMPENSATION WOULD BE PROVIDED BECAUSE THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL. CAN BE TEMPORARILY CORRECTED BY REPEATEDLY TURNING IGNITION ON AND OFF WITHOUT STARTING ENGINE. OCCURS WHEN DRIVING AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS. SPEEDOMETER CONTINUES TO CLIMB UNTIL IT HITS ITS LIMIT AT WELL OVER 120 MPH REGARDLESS OF ACTUAL SPEED OR WHEN STOPPED. VERY UNSAFE CONDITION, PARTICULARLY FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE LIMITED IN THEIR ABILITY TO JUDGE SPEEDS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH WITH THE AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS ON, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTRACT DROVE INTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND TURNED THE HIGH BEAMS ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 124,000.
SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER QUIT WORKING THERE IS A SHORT IN THE HEATER LEVEL 4 AND 5 DO NOT WORK AND MY WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THE PROBLEMS. I USE TO BUY DODGE BUT I DECIDED TO SWITCH TO CHEVY I BOUGHT A TRAILBLAZER WITH TWO YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO BE CLAIMED UNDER THE WARRANTY I CALL GM THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THAT COVERS IT I THINK I AM GOING TO SWITCH BAR CK TO DODGE. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY UNLESS THERE IS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *TR
BATTERY GAUGE FAILED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO AND I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT BUT NOW THE GAS GAUGE, OIL GAUGE AND FUEL GAUGE ARE FAILING AND ACCORDING TO EVERYTHING I HAVE READ THE SPEEDOMETER IS NEXT. I HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH MY 2004 TRAIL BLAZER I FIRST NOTICED IT WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 55 AND ALL THE SUDDEN IT WAS LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS PUT IN NEUTRAL AND I PULLED TO THE SIDE SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND TRIED TO START AGAIN AND IT TOOK OFF FINE LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG. THEN A DAY OR 2 LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED SO I HAD IT TOWED TO THE GARAGE. THEY TOLD ME MY TRANSMISSION WAS BAD I WAS SHOCKED WITH ONLY 58,000 ON THE VEHICLE THEY SHOWED ME THE DIPSTICK WAS RUSTED RIGHT OFF AND ASKED ME WHAT HAPPENED I THEN ASKED THEM WHAT HAPPENED. SO LONG STORY SHORT THEY WANTED TO CHARGE $3000 TO REPLACE BECAUSE THE WARRANTY RAN OUT AT 36,000 I REFUSE TO PAY WHEN THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR A PROBLEM THEY ADMIT THEY HAVE. AND TO THINK THE GOVERNMENT OR SHOULD I SAY WE THE PEOPLE JUST BAILED THIS COMPANY OUT AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED IF THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE JUNK LET GO BANKRUPT. *TR

I HAVE NOTICED MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE TACHOMETER. IT IS STICKING AT AROUND 4000 RPM AND WON'T RESET TO 0. THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON COMPLAINT FROM WHAT I CAN FIND. I'M AFRAID THAT THIS PROBLEM COULD SPREAD INTO OTHER GAUGES WHICH WOULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

HELLO I AM WRITING CONCERNING MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE THE GAUGES ALL MESSED UP AND IT WOULD SAY I WAS GOING 90 WHEN I WASN'T MOVING AT ALL. NOW, THE DEALER WENT AHEAD AND FIXED THAT FOR ME, BUT NOW THE GAS GAUGE IS SCREWING UP, IT WILL SAY I HAVE MORE GAS THEN I HAVE, IT'S BEEN DOING THIS FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS NOW, AND I'VE RAN OUT OF GAS THREE TIMES WITH MY BABIES IN THE CAR. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND THERE ARE ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE EXACT SAME THING. WHEN IS THIS GOING TO BE RECALLED? HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DOES IT TAKE? TRANSFER CASE FAILURE; LOST 4 WD WHILE DRIVING ON ICE IN ALASKA. T-CASE FAILURE OCCURRED AT 36K MILES. WHEN CASE WAS OPENED, INTERIOR COMPONENTS WERE COMPLETELY DISINTEGRATED. *TR
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT CONNECTION SHORTS OUT AND BURNS, AND HEATER AND A/C CONTROLS DON'T WORK ANYMORE WHEN YOU TRY TO TURN ON HEAT OR A/C KILLS ENGINE. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE LIFTGATE MODULE, THAT FIXED THE PROBLEM OF NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK THE VEHICLE AND SOMETIMES STARTING IT. THIS ALL STARTED AT ABOUT 92,000 MILES. ESTIMATED REPAIR COST FOR HEAT AND A/C AROUND $600.00. *TR
YESTERDAY MY DASHBOARD CONTROL PANEL WORKED GREAT. THIS MORNING (4/18/09) AS I WAS DRIVING TO MY BANK, I NOTICED THAT NONE OF THE GAUGES AND/OR LIGHTS WERE WORKING ( OIL GAUGE, TEMPERATURE GAUGE, BATTERY GAUGE, SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, ETC). MAJOR SAFETY FACTOR. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2004 TRAILBLAZER NEW IN 2004 AND IT HAS BEEN OK. I GOT IN IT LAST THURSDAY AND PUT IT IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF MY BASEMENT TO GO TO WORK. IT MADE A HORRIBLE NOISE SO I GOT MY HUSBAND UP TO LOOK AT IT. COME TO FIND OUT REVERSE WENT OUT ON THE TRANSMISSION. THE REPAIR SHOP SAID REVERSE WAS OUT AND SOME GEARS WERE WORN. I HAD NO WARNING AND THIS JUST HAPPENED. THIS REPAIR PERSON TOLD US THIS WAS WEAK LINK ON THE TRAILBLAZERS AND THE TRANSMISSIONS WOULD GO JUST LIKE THAT. IF THIS IS A WEAK LINK, GM SHOULD RECALL AND FIX THE PROBLEM. I DID NOT TAKE OUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND I ONLY HAVE ABOUT 89,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT HAS FAULTY GAUGES. A FEW MONTHS AGO MY TRAILBLAZER SPEEDOMETER BECAME INOPERATIVE, AND IT CURRENTLY POINTS STRAIGHT DOWN. SAME GOES WITH MY OIL GAUGE. IT HAS BEEN ESTIMATED BETWEEN 500-600 DOLLARS TO REPAIR, BUT AFTER RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND MANY CONSUMERS HAVE DONE THIS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM TO RESURFACE. I FEEL THAT NOT KNOWING WHAT SPEED YOU ARE GOING POSES A MAJOR THREAT TO MY FAMILY, MYSELF AND ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD. PLEASE RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE THROTTLE BODY FAILED WHILE THE CONTACT WAS AT A STOP LIGHT CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY AND THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A MECHANIC WHERE THEY INSPECTED AND REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AT HER EXPENSE FOR $200. THE DEALER WAS ALSO CALLED AND INFORMED HER TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING BUT SHE INFORMED THEM THAT SHE WOULD TAKE THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER MECHANIC AND THEY WILL REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. THE NIPPLE PART OF THE FUEL TANK THAT CONNECTS THE FILLER LINE TO THE FUEL TANK HAS CRACKED AND LEAKS FUEL WHEN WE FILL UP AND WHEN WE DRIVE AND DO TO THE FACT THAT WE PARK IN THE GARAGE WITH THE (WET) LEAKY SIDE OF THE FUEL TANK WITHIN FIVE FEET OF OUR GAS WATER HEATER WE ARE LUCKY PEOPLE TO BE ALIVE. SINCE I'VE PURCHASED THE 2004 VEHICLE (BRAND NEW), I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT ABOUT 10 TIMES. THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AGAIN. WHILE TRYING TO REPLACE, NOTICED THAT THE WIRING IS BURNED OUT AS THERE IS A SHORT. I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME THING AND WONDERING IF THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. *TR

REAR BRAKES FAILED DUE TO VEHICLE DESIGN FLAW RESULTING IN REAR DRIVER'S SIDE BRAKE HOSE REMAINING IN CONTACT WITH EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY. THE BRAKE HOSE IS TOO SHORT AND WAS EITHER DESIGNED, INSTALLED OR NOT ROUTED CORRECTLY. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE LOSS OF THE REAR BRAKES IN AN SUV WILL POTENTIALLY RESULT IN A CRASH OR A ROLL OVER, IN AN EMERGENCY BRAKING SITUATION, WITH LOSS OF LIFE. *TR

PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN RETURNING STEERING WHEEL FROM A RIGHT TURN, FRONT RIGHT SIDE MAKES A SINGLE "POP" SOUND. HAD TO REPLACE "BURNT" HEADLIGHT PIGTAILS ON FRONT, AND PARK LIGHT PIGTAIL ON RIGHT REAR. PROPERTY DAMAGE IS CONSIDERED DAMAGE TO VEHICLE DUE TO THE COMPLAINTS LISTED. *TR
2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER SPEEDOMETER READS MUCH FASTER THAN I AM ACTUALLY GOING. WHEN I AM AT A COMPLETE STOP, IT READS UP TO 60 MPH. THIS VARIES BY DAY, SOME DAYS IT IS 30, SOME IT IS 45, ETC... THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS I NEVER KNOW THE ACTUAL SPEED I AM GOING AND JUST HAVE TO USE MY BEST JUDGMENT. ALSO, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR 2 YEARS AND DEALER CANT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. *TR

HE HAD A MECHANIC EXAMINE THE SPARE TIRE WRENCH AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
DRIVING ON DRY PAVEMENT, CLEAR DAY. TOOK FREEWAY OFFRAMP, WHEN I REACHED 40MPH, THE BRAKES LOCKED UP, WENT PAST STOP SIGN INTO OTHER HIGHWAY MISSING OTHER VEHICLE PASSING IN FRONT OF OFFRAMP. HAPPENED TWICE AT SAME SPEED, BRAKES LOCK UP, AND I PASS THROUGH THE STOP SIGN. LOUD GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM WHEEL WELL AREA, BRAKES RECENTLY CHANGED ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO, NOISE OCCURS AT 25-30 MPH, SOUNDS LIKE DRAGGING SOMETHING UNDERNEATH. SERVICE MAN CHECKED, NOTHING VISIBLE. HAS OCCURRED 5 TIMES IN LESS THAN 2 MONTHS. INTERIOR LIGHTS DIM ON VEHICLE THEN BRIGHTEN CONSTANTLY. DOOR AJAR LIGHT CONSTANTLY COMING ON, BACK HATCH WINDOW CONSTANTLY OPENING ON OWN DRIVING DOWN ROAD. INSTRUMENT PANEL KNOBS, PANEL ITSELF AND WINDOW AND DOOR BUTTONS ON DOORS EXTREMELY HOT TO TOUCH. VARIOUS LIGHTS ON INSTRUMENT PANEL QUIT WORKING AND THEN RESUME ON THEIR OWN. REPORTED TACH/ODOMETER NOT WORKING ALREADY. BOTH UNITS REGISTERING OFFLINE WHILE DRIVING. WHERE ARE THE FIXES TO THESE PROBLEMS? *TR
2004 TRAILBLAZER , TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK RUSTED AND BROKE, TRANSMISSION WENT OUT FROM WATER GETTING INSIDE / DO NOT KNOW HOW THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED ! AND THE BEARINGS IN THE WATERPUMP WENT OUT LEAVING THE FAN SHAFT WIGGLING / LOOSE. WITH ONLY 65000 MILES ON MY TRAILBLAZER NOT TRAVELING NO FASTER THAN 75 MPH MAX. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. DRIVING HOME FROM VACATION ON THE HIGHWAY IN A SNOWSTORM, WE REALIZED THE TACHOMETER WAS NO LONGER SHOWING THE CORRECT RPMS. IT WAS STUCK AROUND 4000 WHILE WE WERE GOING LESS THAN THAT. A LITTLE WHILE LATER WE NOTICED THAT WHILE WE WERE SLOWING DOWN FOR A RED LIGHT AND TRAVELING PROBABLY 10 MPH THE SPEEDOMETER WAS SHOWING 60 MPH. WE QUICKLY STOPPED FOR GAS, THINKING MAYBE THOSE GAUGES WERE MALFUNCTIONING AS WELL, BUT THEY WEREN'T. WHEN WE ACCELERATED AGAIN, THE SPEEDOMETER RAISED FROM 60 TO EVENTUALLY OVER 120 MPH. EACH TIME WE SLOWED DOWN THE NEEDLE STUCK, THEN WHEN WE ACCELERATED IT WENT HIGHER. WHILE WE WERE DRIVING IN THE SNOWSTORM ON THE HIGHWAY, WE THINK WE WERE TRAVELING ABOUT 20 TO 30 MPH, BUT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS STILL OVER 120 MPH. THIS WAS SCARY BECAUSE UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS WE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO JUDGE OUR SPEED, BUT IN THE SNOW IT WAS HARD TO DO SO. ON MONDAY WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WERE TOLD THAT VEHICLES WITH UNDER 70,000 MILES THEY WOULD FIX BUT SINCE OURS HAD 78,000 WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS. WE DECIDED WE CAN'T AFFORD THE REPAIRS, THEN A FEW DAYS LATER BOTH GAUGES STARTED WORKING PROPERLY ON THEIR OWN. WE ARE STILL LEERY OF TRUSTING THEM, AND WE ARE ASSUMING THEY WILL MALFUNCTION AGAIN. I CAN SEE THIS PROBLEM LEADING TO BEING TICKETED FOR SPEEDING AND POSSIBLY EVEN HAVING AN ACCIDENT DUE TO NOT KNOWING YOUR SPEED. *TR

I HAVE A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS V6 2WD. MY SPEEDOMETER WENT OUT ON ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING. AT ONE POINT IT WAS STUCK AT 120 MPH. I WAS TOLD BY GM THAT THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH OTHER MODEL AND MADE A RECALL ON THEM. WHEN I ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE 2004 MODEL THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOT BECAUSE NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE COMPLAINING.
