DISCOVERED A CRACK ON MY DASHBOARD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. CRACK STARTS WHERE THE VIN IS LOCATED UP THROUGH THE SLITS OVER THE SPEAKER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE.
IT WAS RAINING WENT TO TURN ON THE BACK WIPER BLADE AND ALL I HEARD WAS A POP AND THE FUSE BLEW, A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD ENGINE STILL RAN, BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AIRBAG LIGHT, BATTERY LIGHT, MOST OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS OUT, THE RADIO TURNED OFF, WINDOWS WOULD NOT OPEN AND DOORS AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKED, GOT TO A SAFE SPOT TO STOP TURNED THE BLAZER OFF LET IT SET TURNED IT BACK ON, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON ALL THE OTHERS WENT OUT AND THE WINDOWS OPENED WHEN I HIT THE BUTTON. WHEN ONE FUSE COST 8.00 AND BLEW AS SOON AS I PUT IT IN, I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX ALL THIS, AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT ON THE EXPRESSWAY WHICH IS HOW I GET TO WORK, JUST IN CASE OF FIRE OR ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS. *TR

WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED TO THE ON OR OFF POSITION, THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID SPRAYED AND CONTINUED UNTIL THE FLUID WAS EMPTY WITHOUT BEING PROMPTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR HAD TO BE DISCONNECTED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE AT AN AUTOMATED CAR WASH, THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SWITCH SHORT CIRCUITED WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, FLAMES APPEARED AND ENGULFED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A FIRE REPORT AND A POLICE REPORT WERE FILED. BOTH THE CONTACT AND THE PASSENGER SUFFERED SMOKE INHALATION THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE IT WAS SHOWING LOTS FASTER BEFORE, STARING IN FEB 2015 THEN JUST QUITE A FEW MONTHS AGO. THE LIGHTS WILL ALL GO REALLY DIM FOR FEW SECONDS USUALLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN THEN WILL BE NORMAL STARTED ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO.

IN ADDITION, WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION, THE VEHICLE REMAINED ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH TAIL LIGHT STRIPS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 163,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE REDUCE ENGINE POWER WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE ENGINE BEGAN TO VIBRATE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE WARNING INDICATOR WENT OFF AND THE VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.

SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER DASHBOARD GAUGES ARE GETTING STUCK AND NO LONGER OPERATING. I AM TOLD THAT THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT - INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS THE CAUSE, I HAVE ALSO BEEN TOLD THAT THIS IS VERY FREQUENT OCCURRENCE WITH THESE GM/CHEVROLET MODELS. *TR

MY SON [XXX] WAS INVOLVED IN A SINGLE CAR ACCIDENT (HIT A DEER AND RAN OFF THE ROAD) IN WHICH OUR 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WAS TOTALED IN A ROLL OVER AND NOT ONE SINGLE AIRBAG DEPLOYED IN THE ACCIDENT. AS A RESULT OF NO AIRBAG HE SMASHED HIS FOREHEAD INTO THE STEERING WHEEL LEAVING A 2 INCH GASH, CUT TO THE BONE. I HAVE 2004 TRAILBLAZER IN JAN MY TACH AND SPEEDOMETER HAVE NOT WORKED PROPERLY ...I CANNOT AFFORD THE 500 DOLLAR PLUS FIX ON THIS VEHICLE. WELL I BOUGHT THIS SUV USED FROM AMERICAS CARMART IN GADSDEN ALABAMA.THEY HAVE A 100 PLUS LOTS AND ADVERTISE GOOD USED QUALTIY CARS..WHEN I BOUGHT THE SUV I WANTED TO TAKE IT TO THE CHEVY DEALER BUT WAS TOLD THEIR ON SITE CERTIFIED MECHANIC CHECKED IT ALL OUT AND WITH THE SERVICE AGREEMENT THOUGHT I WAS OK....HAD IT TWO DAYS AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT..THE SUSPENSION WAS ALSO AN ISSUE THEN 12/21/2014 ..GOING PAST 50 IT SHOOK LIKE CRAZY....AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AGAINI PURCHASED A SERVICE AGREEMENT FOR $595.00..IT COVERS WHAT MY PROBLEMS ARE...BUT THE CONTRACT SAYS THEY CAN USE NON MANUFACTER PARTS WHICH IS FINE...WHEN I BROUGHT IT TO THEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION..THEY PUT A JUNKYARD SALVAGE TRANSMISSION WITH 100.000 MILES ON IT...WHEN I CALLED THEM IN DECEMBER ABOUT THE SHAKING AND SUSPENSION AND THE TRANSMISSION...THEY SAID BRING IT IN...I ASKED THEM WHERE THEY WERE GOING TO TAKE IT..THEY REFUSED TO TELL ME...AND I TOLD THEM I DIDN'T WANT A JUNKYARD SUSPENSION OR TRANSMISSION AS PER CONTRACT WAS NOT SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN..I ALSO ASKED FOR A CERTIFIED MECHANIC TO DO THE WORK...THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEE WHAT THEY COULD DO.I DO A LOT OF DRIVING IN TENNESSEE..ALOT OF MOUNTAIN DRIVING AND I WAS NOT GOING TO HAVE THE FRONT END {BALL JOINTS,ETC GO OUT THERE..NOT REAL SAFE..THEY CAME AND GOT THE CAR...I THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO FIX IT AS AGREED...THAT WAS ON THE 8TH OF JAN..NOW THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO SUE ME FOR THE REMAINING BALANCE....I JUST WANT TO CALL ATTENTION TO THIS SUV AS IT IS NOT SAFE..AND ITS MY OPINION THEY DO THIS A LOT TO OTHER PEOPLE...I WANTED TO DRAW THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION AS I WOULD FEEL BAD IF I HEARD OF SOMEONE GETTING SERIOUSLY HURT..DUE TO THEIR INABILITY TO SELL QUALITY USED CARS AS THEY ADVERTISE...AND BELIEVE THEIR PRACTICES ON REPAIRING THESE CARS WITH A SERVICE AGREEMENT GETS CHECKED INTO..I FILED A COMPLAIT W/THE FTC AND AGOFFICE. *TR

SMELLED GAS AND NOTICED PUDDLE UNDER VEHICLE WHEN PARKED. CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE AND WAS WORRIED BECAUSE THIS SEEMS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. CONTACTED CHEVROLET ABOUT IT AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE TO DEALER TO HAVE INSPECTED FOR ANY DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. I WAS CHARGED $49.73 TO BE TOLD THAT I HAD A FUEL LEAK AND TO REPAIR IT I WOULD BE CHARGED $1897.00 EVEN THOUGH CHEVROLET HAS ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN #05012 FOR THIS VERY ISSUE AND THAT IT CAN BE REPAIRED FOR NO CHARGE BUT THEY WOULD ONLY COVER FOR 10 YRS. OR 120,000 MILES. BUT SINCE I AM A LITTLE OVER ON BOTH ITEMS THEY WILL COVER NOTHING AND WANT ME TO PAY THE ENTIRE AMOUNT TO WHICH I FEEL THIS IS VERY UNFAIR AS THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND MILES SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE FOR A DEFECTIVE PART AND SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING THIS MORNING 12/16/2014 AT 50 MPH WHEN I NOTICED MY DASH LIGHTS,HEADLIGHTS FLUCTUATING ALSO MY VOLTAGE GAUGE. NO MATTER WHAT I DID IT DIDN'T CHANGE THE STATE OF THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THE GAUGE CLUSTER REPLACED BEFORE I BOUGHT IT AND THE BATTERY. *TR
WHEN I TURN 4WD ON, THE LIGHT GETS STUCK IN 4WD EVEN WHEN I TRY TO TURN IT OFF. I THINK MY CAR IS STUCK IN 4WD AT THIS POINT. *TR

LOW BEAMS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. PROBLEM ALREADY FIXED BY AUTO REPAIR, BUT VERY CONCERNED THAT LATEST RECALL ONLY INCLUDES 2006-2007 WHEN THIS IS HAPPENING TO OLDER TRAILBLAZERS AS WELL. *JS

IN NOVEMEBER 2014 I STARTED THE CAR AND I HAD NO GAUGES(GAS,TEMPERATURE,OIL,RPM. MPH, AND THE MILEAGE DISPLAY) THE OTHER ELECTRIC COMPONENTS WORKED, LIKE THE RADIO AND THE SMALL ORANGE LIGHT FOR AWD. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC TWICE, BUT IT NEVER ACTED UP FOR HIM. IT HAPPENED TWICE AGAIN IN DECEMBER, BUT IT REALLY ACTED POSSESSED IN JAN 2015, SOME OF THE GAUGE NEEDLES WERE GOING ROUND IN CIRCLES, AND SOME WERE NOT MOVING AT ALL, SO WE WERE ABLE TO TAKE A VIDEO OF SOME OF IT, AND SHOW OUR MECHANIC. HE CALLED US TODAY AND SAID HE IS FOLLOWING A LOT OF BURNT WIRES, AND OUR CAR COULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE. I THOUGHT THIS POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD SHOULD BE REPORTED. *TR

MY VEHICLE IS SENDING GAS FUMES IN THRU THE VENT SYSTEM. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO SEVERAL 2004 TRAILBLAZERS. THE OUTCOME IS FAULTY FUEL TANK MODULAR RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY OR HOLE IN TANK. AS OF NOW THERE IS NO RECALL. I WILL BE BRINGING THE VEHICLE INTO MY DEALERSHIP SOON TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED HOWEVER, I FEEL IF THIS HAS HAPPENED TO SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES IT SHOULD BE PART OF A NATIONAL RECALL. I SEARCHED ONLINE UNDER CHEVY TRAILBLAZER 2004 FUEL SMELL THRU VENT. I HOPE THAT SOMETHING WILL BE ADDRESSED ON THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED EITHER BY FUMES OR POSSIBLE EXPLOSION. GOODYEAR FORTERA HL P245/65R17 DOT M78T CCDR 5012, 15,000 MILES, COMPLETE SIDEWALL DISINTEGRATED. ALL THE WAY AROUND. ANOTHER TIRE SHOWS SIDEWALL CRACKING. BLOWOUT AT 50 MPH.

I PARKED THE CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY AND THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR STARTED CLICKING. THE MIRROR WAS ATTEMPTING TO ROTATE TO THE EXTREME CAR SIDE OF THE MIRROR. USING THE REMOTE MIRROR CONTROL HAD NO EFFECT.THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF AND THE MIRROR MOTOR CONTINUED TO TRY TO MOVE THE MIRROR PAST THE LIMIT. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES, THE CLICKING STOPPED AND THERE WAS AN ODOR OF PLASTIC BURNING. AFTER THE CLICKING STOPPED, NEITHER MIRROR MOVED. THE LOCAL MECHANIC SAID THE WIRING TO THE MOTOR HAD BURNED AND SHORTED THE MECHANISM. I WAS LUCKY THAT THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE INTERIOR OF THE DOOR. HAS THIS MALFUNCTION BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE TRAILBLAZERS? *TR

I STARTED SMELLING GAS FUMES INSIDE OF VEHICLE. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST SENSOR OR GAS CAP LETTING FUMES OUT. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO GET REPAIRED AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A CRACK IN NECK ON FUEL TANK AND LEAKING FUEL. THE COST OF REPLACING THE FUEL TANK WAS $1390.00. I ALSO LOOKED UP TO SEE IF THERE HAD BEEN OTHERS THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY WERE WITH MOST ALL VEHICLES UNDER A 100,000 MILES. I CALLED GM AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NEVER A RECALL ISSUED ON THIS. I THINK THEIR SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL SINCE THIS WAS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
AS WE WERE DRIVING THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS COMPLETELY QUIT WORKING WE QUICKLY SWITCHED TO THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS WHICH WORKED WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. AT THIS TIME THE INCIDENT WAS SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND THE LOW BEAMS STILL DO NOT WORK AT ALL. THE TRAILBLAZER IS DESIGNED FOR THE LIGHTS TO WORK AT ALL TIMES AND THEY HAVE NEVER TURNED ON SINCE THE INCIDENT. WE HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE HIGH BEAMS AND ALL SIGNALS SEEM TO BE FUNCTIONAL. AS I HAVE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM SEEN BY SEVERAL PEOPLE. I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM SOMEONE IN REGARDS TO THIS PROBLEM. I WAS ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY TRAVELING EASTBOUND GOING 50 MPH POSTED SPEED 55 MPH WEARING OUR SEAT BELTS, WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE WAITING TO U - TURN IN THE CENTER MEDIAN DECIDED TO TURN RIGHT INTO ME-ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS PERSON COLLIDED WITH ME, WHICH THAT IMPACT SENT ME INTO A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH THE GUARD RAIL. THE CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER IS COMPLETELY TOTALED. THERE WERE 2 INCIDENTS IN THAT SEQUENCE OF EVENTS THAT THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED, BUT DID NOT! THIS ACCIDENT CAUSED SEVERAL INJURIES TO MYSELF AND MY PASSENGER. STARTING ABOUT A FEW WEEKS AGO MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT HAS REEKED OF UNSPENT GASOLINE, AND THIS SMELL CONSUMES THE ENTIRE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ALSO HAS SMALL LEAK BELOW RESERVOIR WHICH APPEARS TO BE LEAKING UNSPENT FUEL. CHEVY OFFERED A "SPECIAL COVERAGE" TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE (CORROSION ON TOP OF FUEL TANK RESERVOIR), HOWEVER IT ONLY COVERS VEHICLES UNDER 10 YEARS OF AGE AND UNDER 120K MILES. MY VEHICLE IS UNDER THAT MILEAGE, HOWEVER THIS REPAIR WILL NOT BE COVERED DUE TO AGE OF VEHICLE (MINE WAS ASSEMBLED IN MARCH). THIS ISSUE IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN, AS ANY SMALL SPARK COULD CAUSE THIS VEHICLE TO IGNITE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL SUDDENLY SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO INDICATED THAT THE LUG NUTS DETACHED FROM THE WHEEL CAUSING THE WHEEL TO SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

TRUCK CUT OFF WHILE IN PARK. SMELT BURNING SMELL, AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. SOMEONE RAISED THE HOOD AND NOTICED THE COMPUTER ELECTRICAL BOX WAS BURNING. THE COVER WAS MELTED THROUGH FROM THE BURNING. THE VEHICLE WAS OFF AND THEN STARTED BACK UP ON IT'S OWN. SECURITY LIGHTS IN DASH CAME ON. VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN. I READ ON GOOGLE WEBSITE THAT SOME VEHICLES HAD RECALLS FOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. A CHEVROLET PLACE IN LYNCHBURG VA TOLD THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THAT IS NOT WHAT I READ ON THE INTERNET. I WAS DRIVING ALONG ON THE HIGHWAY AND DOING THE SPEED LIMIT. I HIT TRAFFIC AND CHECKED MY CHECK MY GAS GAUGE AND NOTICED THAT MY SPEEDOMETER WAS READING 120 AT FULL STOP. I TURNED OFF AND THEN BACK ON THE TRUCK AND THE SPEEDOMETER STILL PINNED AT 120. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND THEY NEED TO ADDRESS IT. I CALLED CHEVY AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, BUT CHARGE ME 900 FOR A NEW DASH CLUSTER. *TR

DRIVING HOME FROM WORK BRAKES STARTED LOCKING UP DROVE HOME TOOK APART FRONT AN REAR BRAKES FOUND FRONT CALIPERS LOCKED UP CHANGED CALIPERS AN BRAKE PADS FRONT AN REAR TRIED TO BLEED BRAKES HAD A SPONGY PEDAL FILLED MASTER CYLINDER AN NOTICED BRAKE FLUID LEAKING UNDER MASTER CYLINDER CONNECTOR BEHIND FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL NO PART TO FIX NO LISTING . CANNOT DRIVE CAR. THAT'S JUST ONE PROBLEM TRANSMISSION LINES ROTTED AN CHANGED 2 YEARS AGO . POWER STEERING COOLER ROTTED OUT LOST ALL POWER STEERING FLUID 1 MONTH AGO AN PUT AFTER MARKET COOLER IN . ALSO AIR CONDITIONER LINES ROTTED OUT CANNOT HOLD R34 COOLANT ANYMORE. *TR
SHUT CAR OFF AND WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART KEY WOULD NOT TURN. STEERING WHEEL WAS NOT LOCKED AND IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR. AN HOUR LATER RETURNED TO HAVE IT TOWED AND TRIED THE KEY AND VEHICLE STARTED. *TR
FUEL TANK CRACK THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH A VAPOR LEAK ERROR AND I SMELLED A SLIGHT GAS VAPOR. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF THE VAPOR LEAK. AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS, THE GAS SMELL BECAME MORE NOTICEABLE AND I TOOK IT BACK TO MY MECHANIC. A SMOKE TEST REVEALED THAT THE FUEL TANK IS CRACKED WHERE THE FUEL TANK FILLER HOSE IS CONNECTED TO THE TANK. ALTHOUGH OTHER CHEVYS ARE COVERED UNDER RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM, THE 2004 TRAILBLAZER IS NOT. THE TANK ALONE IS $790 TO REPLACE NOT INCLUDING LABOR OF ABOUT $150 AT MY MECHANIC. I HAVE READ MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE FOR THIS CAR AND BELIEVE THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL.
