NO ACCIDENT. THIS IS A PART RECALL. I WAS WANDERING IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THE FAN CONTROL MODULE. I SEEN WHERE THE ONE I HAVE ON MY CAR IS REPLACED WITH A NEW TYPE. MY FAN NOW ONLY WORKS ON ONE SPEED. THE OTHER 4 SPEEDS WILL NOT WORK. IT IS VERY UPSETTING,IT WILL ONLY WORK ON THE 4TH SPEED. I BOUGHT ONE TO REPLACE THE OLD ONE BUT IT WILL NOT WORK ON MY CAR. WHAT IS THE NUMBER I SHOULD BE USING. IF THIS IS A GM FREE REPLACEMENT PLEASE SEND ME ONE. THANKS. MY HUSBAND IS A RETIRED GM WORKER. *TR
IN 2014 I NOTICED A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE ON A REGULAR BASIS COMING FROM MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. I HAD MY LOCAL GARAGE LOOK AT IT AND WAS TOLD THE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY WAS COMPROMISED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MILEAGE AT THE TIME OF REPAIR WAS 124,000 AND COST WAS ALMOST $800 PARTS & LABOR. LOOKING ONLINE I NOTICED MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME MAKE/MODEL DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER POWERING OFF, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 168,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY WILL NOT WORK (LOWBEAM ONLY). IT HAPPENS AT NIGHT MANY TIMES AND I WILL HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE BRIGHT LIGHTS OR FOG LIGHTS. SOMETIMES THE ENTIRE DASH LIGHTING WILL GO OUT AS WELL INCLUDING THE SPEEDOMETER. IT'S ALMOST AS IF THE ELECTRICAL PORTION OF THE IGNITION HAS FAILED. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY FOR ABOUT A YEAR. *TR
WHILE DRIVING FUEL LEVEL GAUGE JUMPS UP AND DOWN FROM EMPTY TO FULL. IT STAYS AT WHAT EVER LEVEL IT WANTS TO. YOU CANNOT BE CERTAIN HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN GAS TANK AT ANY CERTAIN TIME! *TR
MY CHEVY TRAILBLAZER 2004 SLOWED DOWN TO 20MPH ON THE HIGHWAY I HAD A VERY HARD AN SCARY TIME PULLING OVER I GOT MY THROTTLE FIXED THAT COST ME 500.00 DOLLARS MY CAR IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING IT WAS DOING ON THE HIGHWAY 20MPH AND AMP IDLES VERY HIGH WONT DROP DOWN TO 0 STAYS AT 20 OR ABOVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL NO ONE CAN FIND A PROBLEM WITH MY CAR ALL THEY WANT IS TO KEEP GUESSING WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO NO BECAUSE IT KEEPS GOING BACK TO THE SAME PROBLEM DOESN'T WANT TO GO IN GEAR AND DRIVE IT JUST LET YOU PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE GAS AN DOES NOTHING. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION COOLING LINES CORRODED AND CAUSED A TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK. THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE GOING DOWN INTERSTATE 86. WHEN THE FLUID LEAKED OUT OF THE TRANSMISSION COOLING LINES, IT SPRAYED ALL OVER THE EXHAUST PIPES, WHICH CAUSED A SEVERE FIRE HAZARD. DUE TO THE LOSS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID, IT CASED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION INTERNALS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT BEGAN TO SMOKE. THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE SO I STOPPED THE CAR SHUT IT OFF, POPPED THE HOOD, AND IT WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. I GRABBED MY 2 CHILDREN OUT OF THE CAR AND CALLED 9-1-1 THE CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS! *TR
FRONT HEAD LAMPS TURN OFF FOR NO REASON ON DARK STREET, LEAVE THE DRIVER WITH NO VISIBILITY. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER GAUGE WENT DOWN TO 0, WHILE I WAS ON HWY TRAVELING AT 55 MPH. MY SPEEDOMETER CURRENTLY ISN'T WORKING AND GAS GAUGE IS NOT WORKING TO. WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL ON THIS? THE LIGHTENING WILL GO OUT TO AND DON'T WANT TO COME BACK ON SOME TIMES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
MY COMPLAINT IS THAT I CONTACTED CHEVY DEALER AND ADVISED OF SO MANY ISSUES I HAVE HAD WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE THE PURCHASE MAINLY MOST RECENT IS THE DRIVER SIGNAL LIGHT WILL NOT COME ON AND IT WAS RECALLED 2004 RECALL# TURN SIGNAL 05V198000 IN WHICH THEY ADVISED ME THAT THE CAMPAIGN HAS EXPIRED AND THEREFORE MINE CANNOT BE REPLACED. I HAVE ALREADY ALMOST HAD 3 CAR CRASHES BECAUSE THE SIGNAL IS NOT WORKING. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY CHEVROLET DID NOT REPLACE WHEN IT IS CLEAR THIS IS LIFE THREATENING REGARDLESS OF WHEN THE RECALL WAS PUT INTO FORCE. *TR
SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO ZERO. STOPPED VEHICLE AND RESTARTED. SPEEDOMETER STARTED BUT WOULDN'T GO ABOVE 35 MPH. I HAD A GPS SPEEDOMETER ON MY PHONE AND IT WAS REGISTERING 55-60 MPH AND THE VEHICLE SPEEDOMETER WOULD DISPLAY 25-30. AFTER A COOL NIGHT IT MIGHT WORK CORRECTLY FOR 4 OR 5 MILES THEN IT EITHER DROPS TO ZERO OR FALLS TO THE 10-25MPH RANGE. SOMETIMES RESTARTING THE VEHICLE WILL GET IT TO WORK AGAIN FOR A SHORT TIME. WHEN IT IS FAILING THE NEEDLE DROPS BELOW THE 0 MPH TOWARDS THE MILEAGE. WHEN IT SEEMS TO BE WORKING SOMEWHAT IT STOPS AT 0 MPH OR JUST ABOVE IT. THIS SHOULD REALLY BE A RECALL ! THANK YOU *TR
INSTRUMENT GAUGE CLUSTER SHORTING OUT... STARTED WITH TACH, THEN OIL GAUGE, NOW SPEEDOMETER. SEEMS TO BE AN EPIDEMIC WITH MANY GM VEHICLES, OTHER MODELS RECALLED, CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. GM NEEDS TO INCLUDE TRAILBLAZER IN RECALL. *TR

I HAVE A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAIL BLAZER. MY SPEEDOMETER HAND JUST STOPPED WORKING, IT IS STUCK AT 120MPH. I TRIED SHUTTING MY SUV OFF AND TURNING IT ON AND EVEN UNHOOKING THE BATTERY, BUT IT STILL DOESN'T WORK... THE DEALER SAID IT WILL COST ME $500+ TO GET IT FIXED.. WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL ON THIS?? I KNOW A LOT MORE PEOPLE WHO HAVE REPLACED THE PART TWICE AND IT STILL FAILS OUT. I AM UNEMPLOYED AND HAVE NO INCOME AT ALL AND IT MAKES IT HARD ON GOOD HONEST PEOPLE WHO NEED WAYS OF TRANSPORTATION. AFTER MAKING A FEW ERRANDS, I PARKED MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT IN MY DRIVEWAY AROUND NOON. I IMMEDIATELY WENT INSIDE MY HOUSE. AROUND 4:30 PM I WENT TO GET IN MY TRUCK AND FOUND THE DRIVERS SEAT HAD BEEN ON FIRE. THE ENTIRE SEAT AND CEILING WAS DESTROYED. THE CEILING'S MELTED PLASTIC/MATERIALS WERE ALL OVER EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING WAS COOL TO THE TOUCH AT THIS TIME.THERE IS FIRE DAMAGE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE INSIDE OF THE TRAILBLAZER. EVERYTHING INSIDE IS COVERED WITH HEAVY BLACK SOOT OR PIECES OF MELTED PLASTIC. YOU CAN'T SEE THROUGH THE WINDOWS. I HAD MY HUSBAND CALL 911. POLICE & FIRE RESPONDED. THEY DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY. THE TRUCK IS A TOTAL LOSS. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. THE FIRE MARSHALL SAYS IT STARTED IN ONE OF THE MOTORS IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT. I DO NOT HAVE HEATED SEATS. HE ALSO STATED THAT WE WERE FORTUNATE THAT THERE WAS NO OPEN WINDOW TO HELP FUEL THE FIRE AND THAT VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITHOUT OCCUPANTS WHEN THIS OCCURRED. *TR
I WAS COME DOWN A SECONDARY ROAD THERE IS A STOP SIGN SO I CAME TO A STOP LOOK BOTH WAYS TO MAKE SURE I COULD MAKE IT CROSS THE HIGHWAY SAFETIED I MADE IT CROSS TWO LANES GOT IN THE TURN LANE SO I COULD GET IN THE OTHER LANE BUT BEFORE I COULD DO THAT A CAR HIT ME ON THE DRIVE SIDE TOTAL MY TRAILBLAZER OUT MY AIRBAGS DIDN'T COME OUT AT ALL THE HOOD OF MY SUV CAME OFF DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN UP THEY USED THE JAWS OF LIFE TO TRY TO OPEN THE DOOR BUT IT DIDN'T WORK SO THEY GOT ME OUT ON THE PASSAGE SIDE. I HAD A HEAD INJURE GOT STAPLES IN MY HEAD. IT WAS A LOT OF DAMAGE DONE TO MY SUV I'M BLESSED TO BE ALIVE. THE PERSON IN THE SUV HE GOT HURT NOTHING TO BAD HE DIDN'T HAVE TO GO TO THE HOSP HIS UP BACK SOME INJURE TO IT. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LT IN FEBRUARY 2013. THAT WINTER I STARTED EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH MY SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE RISING ABOVE WHATEVER SPEED I WAS GOING. I TOOK A PICTURE OF IT SAYING I WAS DRIVING 120 MPH WHEN I CLEARLY WASN'T. SO I DID MY RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THOUSANDS OF OTHER CHEVY TRAILBLAZER OWNERS WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM!! I CALLED CHEVYS CUSTOMER CARE LINE AND THE REPRESENTATIVE CLAIMED THIS WAS HER FIRST TIME HEARING ABOUT THIS AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO HELP ME. I CONTACTED THEM VIA FACEBOOK AND STILL NOT WILLING TO HELP. AS OF RIGHT NOW MY SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T WORK. I HAVE TO USE AN APP ON MY PHONE TO KNOW HOW FAST I'M GOING. I CAN'T AFFORD TO SPEND THE $500-$800 THAT IT WOULD COST TO REPAIR SOMETHING THAT IS A MALFUNCTION ON CHEVYS BEHALF!! I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY'RE GETTING AWAY WITH THIS WHEN THOUSANDS OF OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY OR GM AGAIN!! *TR
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED. THE SPEEDOMETER READS BETWEEN 60 (AT A STOP) AND >120 (HIGHWAY SPEED). THE TACHOMETER ARM POINTS STRAIGHT DOWN AT ALL TIMES. I AM PLANNING ON REPLACING IT MYSELF, KNOWING A RECALL WILL TAKE TOO LONG FOR ME TO WAIT BECAUSE OF THE OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS. I HAVE READ MANY FORUMS AND TALKED TO OTHERS WITH GM VEHICLES AROUND THIS YEAR. I KNOW OF THE RECALL ON THE 2002 MODELS AND IT SEEMS GM DIDN'T TRY THAT HARD TO FIX FUTURE MODELS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE DRIVER BECAME DISTRACTED AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN, CAUSING THE DRIVER TO BE THROWN FORWARD. THE DRIVER'S HEAD IMPACTED THE WINDSHIELD AND AS A RESULT, HE SUSTAINED BLEEDING FROM THE BRAIN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I SMELLED GAS AND TOOK IT TO MY LOCATION TIRE SHOP. THEY FOUND THE FILLER TO THE GAS TANK HAS A CRACK. THEY SAID THAT THE GAS TANK WOULD HAVE TO REPLACED. I DID A INTERNET SEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM AND MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT WITH 161,000 MILES ON IT. A FEW WEEKS AGO I GOT TO NOTICING A REAL STRONG GAS ODOR IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH AND HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED OUT AND CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT IT IS THE COMMON PROBLEM THAT IS AFFECTING MANY OTHER TRAILBLAZER EXT OWNERS. IT IS THE FUEL TANK INLET CHECK VALVE AT THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. IN DOING MY RESEARCH I HAVE NOTICED THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE FIXED BY SOME RECALLS THAT HAVE BEEN ISSUED SO I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER TO FIND OUT ABOUT IT ONLY TO BE INFORMED THAT MINE IS 41,000 MILES PAST THE RECALL MILEAGE AND WILL COST UPWARDS OF $1,000 TO FIX. I AM WORRIED ABOUT A POSSIBLE FIRE OR EXPLOSION WITH THIS ISSUE. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT TO WORK EVERY DAY AND TO USE IT TO TAKE MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL. I JUST WISH THAT CHEVROLET WOULD FIX THIS SO I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY EVERY DAY ABOUT DRIVING IT. I DON'T FEEL THAT THERE SHOULD BE A MILEAGE RESTRICTION ON A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD RESULT IN DEATH OR GREAT INJURY. *TR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON,WHEN IT WAS CHECKED IT SHOWED THERE WAS A LARGE E-VAP LEAK. WHEN PRESSURE TEST WAS DONE ON SYSTEM FUEL STARTED COMING OUT OF HOSE GOING INTO TOP OF FUEL TANK. WAS TOLD THERE WAS A MAJOR RECALL ON THIS PART. HOWEVER BECAUSE I EXCEEDED THE MILEAGE BY 20,000 MI GM WILL NOT COVER DAMAGE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM AND I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THIS PROBLEM LIKE I THINK GM SHOULD HAVE. I BELIEVE GM SHOULD RE-IMBURSE ANY OUT OF POCKET FUNDS OWNER SPENDS TO FIX PROBLEM AND MAKE VEHICLE SAFE AGAIN. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE MAKING A U-TURN, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY WHEN THE FRONT BUMPER OF ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DRIVERS SIDE AND REAR OF THE CONTACTS VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK AND NOSE INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT NOTICED NO LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS. FLIPPED TO HIGH BEAM AND THEY WORKED. CALLED A FRIEND WHO SAID TO CHECK THE RELAY BY SWITCHING THE FAN RELAY WITH LOW BEAM RELAY. THAT WAS PROBLEM. PURCHASED A NEW RELAY NEXT DAY AND INSTALLED IT. 2 DAYS LATER, NO LOW BEAM LIGHTS AGAIN. POPPED COVER ON RELAYS TO FIND A MELTED MESS. LOW BEAM RELAY HAD MELTED ALONG WITH THE 15 AMP FUSE ADJACENT TO IT AS WELL AS THE FUSE BOX. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH ON LINE, THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. I'M CURRENTLY HUNTING DOWN A USED UNDER HOOD FUSE/RELAY BOX TO REPLACE THIS ONE WITH. *TR
WAS CONSTANTLY HAVING THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT SOON COME ON. WENT TO MY REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY GAS CAP. THEY RESET THE SENSOR AND REPLACED MY GAS CAP. SAME THING HAPPENED ON AND OFF OVER THE LAST 9 MONTHS. ON JULY 18TH IT HAPPENED AGAIN . TOOK IT TO DIFFERENT SHOP AND THEY PERFORMED A SMOKE TEST AND FOUND A CRACK IN THE GAS TANK WHERE THE FILLER TUBE IS, SO WHEN THE GAS TANK IS FULL IT LEAKS OR WHEN YOU CORNER. NOT A LOT BUT I WOULD ASSUME THAT ANY WOULD BE BAD CONSIDERING THE EXHAUST PIPE IS RIGHT THERE. LOOKING ONLINE I FOUND NHTSA ALREADY HAD AN ITEM REGARDING THIS ISSUE ITS NUMBER IS PE07014. I CONTACTED CHEVY AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT ATTACHED TO THE ACTION BUT IT IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT WAS NOTED ON THE NHTSA ACTION NOTICE AND RESEARCH I PERFORMED ON THE WEB. DID THEY TELL YOU THAT THEY WERE ONLY GOING TO COVER CERTAIN VIN. I COULD NOT FIND THIS ANYWHERE ON YOUR SITE. BUT COULD HAVE MISSED IT. *TR
FAILED EMISSIONS TESTING DUE TO EVAP ERROR CODE. MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WAS TAKEN TO THE MECHANIC WHO PERFORMED A SMOKE TEST AND IDENTIFIED A SMALL LEAK AT THE FUEL TANK INLET. HE WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND PRINTED OUT A 'SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT - FUEL TANK INLET CHECK VALVE FRACTURE # XXXXX - (08/24/2007) ' AND ADVISED ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. HE ALSO ADVISED ME THAT MY VIN WAS NOT ON THE LIST BUT THE PROBLEM IS THE SAME AS IDENTIFIED BY OTHERS ON MULTIPLE OTHER FORUMS ON THE INTERNET AND THE PRINTOUT. DEALER REFUSED TO DO THE WARRANTY WORK CITING THE FACT MY VIN WAS NOT ON THE LIST. I CONTACTED GM AND AM ESCALATING THE ISSUE. THE SMELL OF GASOLINE IS MORE PERVASIVE THAN EVER BEFORE! *TR
HIT A DEER AT 70 MPH ON I-70 IN KANSAS. I HIT IT FULL FORCE WITH THE FRONT END. HALF OF THE DEER WENT OVER, HALF THE DEER WENT UNDER. NOTHING LEFT BUT GUTS. FRONT END ON DRIVER SIDE DEPRESSED ABOUT A FOOT. WIFE AND I RECEIVED WHIP LASH, WIFE IS WORSE. BABY WAS OKAY. THE TRAILBLAZERS FRONT END WAS TOTALED. AIRBAGS DID NOT COME OUT. GM STATED THAT IN ORDER FOR THE AIR BAGS TO WORK IN THIS MODEL IS THE BRAKES HAVE TO BE DEPRESSED 1/20TH OF A SECOND PRIOR TO IMPACT. THIS IS HOG WASH. BRAKES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE AIRBAGS. I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE VEHICLE, MY CONCERNS ARE THE SAFETY FEATURES OF THIS VEHICLE. *TR

WE WERE DOING OUR NORMAL FILL-UP (TRUCK WAS OFF) AND AFTER WE FILLED IT UP & TURNED IT OVER, THE FUEL GAUGE SHOT WAY OVER THE 'FULL' MARK. EVERY TIME WE TURNED THE VEHICLE ON, THE FUEL GAUGE WAS READING DIFFERENTLY, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY TIMES IT WAS RIGHT. THE OIL PRESSURE AND BATTERY CHARGE GAUGE HAVE ALSO BEEN GIVING FALSE/SPORADIC READINGS AS WELL. DUE TO A SERVICE ENGINE SOON WARNING LIGHT AND SMELLING GAS INSIDE MY VEHICLE, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC. HE STATED THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE NECK OF MY FUEL TANK. THE DEALER CALLED A LOCAL GM REP. AND I WAS OFFERED 40% COVERED BY GM MEANING I WOULD HAVE TO COVER THE OTHER 60%. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY ONLY SOME VIN#'S ARE IN THIS AND NOT ALL OF THEM.
