**INSTRUMENT CLUSTER** MY SPEEDOMETER STARTED STICKING WHEN I WOULD ACCELERATE OR DROPPING BELOW 0 WHEN I WOULD STOP. AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. NONE OF THE OTHER GAUGES APPEARED TO BE AFFECTED. I ENDED UP HAVING TO HAVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REPLACED. THE REPAIR FACILITY HAD TO ORDER IT DIRECTLY FROM CHEVROLET WHICH MEANT I WAS WITHOUT THE VEHICLE FOR 2-3 DAYS AS THE DASH WAS COMPLETELY PULLED APART. THE REPAIRS WERE AROUND $800. I HAVE SEEN QUITE A FEW OTHER INSTANCES OF INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILURE IN THOSE AND OTHER MODELS OF CHEVY. MY BROTHER IN LAW SAID HE HAD HIS REPLACED IN HIS SILVERADO AND THAT IT WAS COVERED UNDER A RECALL BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND THAT INFORMATION. *TR
2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER GAUGE PANEL STOPPED WORKING. OIL TEMP,WATER TEMP,FUEL, AND VOLTS. RPM AND SPEEDOMETER STILL OK BUT HAVE HEARD NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS VERY ISSUE. COST TO FIX THIS ISSUE IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND NOT ACCEPTABLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE FAN BELT WAS REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO A RECURRING FAILURE. THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE WHEN THE ENGINE WAS STARTED AND DISCOVERED THAT THE FAN BELT WAS FAILING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 137,000. UPDATED 2/11/14*CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WOULD NOT FUNCTION. THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING BUT WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE BECAUSE THE GAUGES WERE FUNCTIONING AT THE TIME OF TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,279.
TANK IS SUBJECT TO CRACKING CAUSING ROUGH IDLE VEHICLE SPEED SURGES AND GAS VAPORS IN THE VEHICLE AND AROUND THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE WILL FAIL EMISSIONS. MANUFACTURE RECALL WAS PUT OUT BUT VEHICLE HAS TO BE MADE AT A CERTAIN FACULTY AND MINE WASN'T, BUT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALLED CARS. *JS
WHILE TAKING MY GIRLS TO SCHOOL MY SPEEDOMETER READING WAS 50MPH FASTER THAN I WAS ACTUALLY GOING AND MY TACT WAS NOT REGISTERING AT ALL. WHEN I STOPPED THE CAR I TURNED ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTED THE CAR AND NEITHER GAUGE WORKS AT ALL AND HASN'T IN OVER A YEAR. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT 800.00 TO FIX IT AND SAID IT WAS A MALFUNCTION IN THE CLUSTER AND I HAVE CHECKED AND IT IS A SEVERE PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITHOUT THESE GAUGES WORKING AND JUDGE MY SPEED WITH THE TRAFFIC, BUT I AM A SINGLE MOM WITH LIMITED RESOURCES AND PURCHASED A GM VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY REPORTS. I FEEL THAT WITH ALL OF THE OTHER SAME COMPLAINTS DOES IT TAKE A LOSS OF LIFE TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A FRACTURE IN THE FUEL NECK LINE, CAUSING A FUEL LEAK. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
FAULTY FUEL SENDING UNIT: CAUSING FUEL GAUGE TO NOT READ CORRECTLY OR ALL TOGETHER. WOULD LIKE TO REPLACE BUT DON'T HAVE THE $600 QUOTED BY THE DEALER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES WERE PROVIDING FAULTY READINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIRS AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT THE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
SINCE PURCHASING OUR BLAZER, WE HAVE REPLACED BOTH HEADLIGHT BULBS NUMEROUS OF TIMES INCLUDING THE SOCKETS FOR EACH SIDE. MY HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO WORK ONE DAY AND NOT THE NEXT. OR WE CAN SIMPLY TAP IT AND IT WILL GO OUT/COME ON. IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS I HAVE HAD THE BULB ON THE DRIVER SIDE REPLACED TWICE! WE HAVE SPECULATED THAT THE WIRES ARE LOOSE BUT WHEN INSPECTED, THAT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE THE CASE. I HAVE HAD MY CAR AT THE SHOP (NOT CHEVY THEY COST TOO MUCH) AND THEY HAVE NOT FOUND ANYTHING MORE THAN A BURNT BULB. WITHIN THE LAST 2 MONTHS, I WAS DRIVING ON A ROAD THAT WAS NOT WELL LIT AT ABOUT 10P WHEN BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. AFTER PULLING OVER & DECIDING THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE IT HOME WAS TO DRIVE WITH MY FLASHERS ON, I CONTINUED MY WAY HOME. HALF WAY HOME THEY CAME BACK ON BUT BEFORE I GOT HOME THEY WENT OUT AGAIN. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? AGAIN, I WOULD SAY IT'S A LOOSE WIRE, BUT WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF THAT ON BOTH SIDES? NOW,TONIGHT, WHILE MY 17 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING (11P) WITH 2 FRIENDS WITH HIM, BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT; BUT CAME BACK ON. MY LIGHTS HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO FLICKER, LIKE THEY ARE NOT GETTING ENOUGH POWER/TOO MUCH. I HAVE CALLED A LOCAL DEALER & AM TOLD THEY CAN RUN A TEST TO SEE WHAT THEY FIND. THAT WOULD BE GREAT, IF I HAD THE CASH FLOW FOR IT; AS IT'S NOT CHEAP JUST FOR THEM TO "RUN" THE TEST NOT FIX IT...THAT WILL COST EXTRA. I AM NOT SURE HOW CHEVY FEELS THERE IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHTS? IF YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT MY ISSUE IS PLEASE TELL ME SO THAT I CAN HAVE SOME ONE I CAN AFFORD TO PAY, FIX IT. BUYING BULBS IS THE LEAST OF MY WORRIES IF THAT WAS THE ONLY ISSUE. BUT FOR BOTH HEADLIGHTS TO GO OUT AT THE SAME TIME, THAT'S AN ISSUE! THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 50 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STARTED TO REGISTER FAULTY READINGS TO THE FOLLOWING MILEAGE, RPMS, OIL CHECK LIGHT, AND BATTERY. THE FAILURE WAS NOT RELATED TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING, BUT THE VEHICLE REGISTERED FALSE READINGS. WHILE DRIVING 50 MILES PER HOUR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATED THE SPEED WAS 110 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER, AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,868.
SPEEDOMETER GOES COMPLETELY OUT, FALLING BELOW ZERO WHILE TRAVELING ON ROAD, TYPICALLY AFTER CRUISE CONTROL HAS BEEN USED, MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS FLASH WHILE ONSTAR AND COMPUTER SHOWING NO CODES AFTER 4X4 USED. UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEMS BECAUSE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND AFTER VEHICLE PARKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS PROBLEM IS GONE. OCCURS ABOUT ONCE A WEEK. HAS CAUSED SEVERAL INSTANCES OF BEING UNABLE TO DETERMINE HOW FAST YOUR TRAVELING. 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT LT 4X4 I6 ENGINE. *TR
ON JUNE 23, 2011, I CRANKED MY 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LT AND THE GAUGES (SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, ETC.) BEGAN TO FLUCTUATE AT A RAPID SPEED. THE SUV CUT OFF AND I ATTEMPTED TO CRANK IT AGAIN. THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR. THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO AS I WAS DRIVING 70 MILES PER HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY. I SLOWED DOWN, BUT I HAD NO IDEA HOW FAST NOR SLOW I WAS GOING. I PULLED OFF OF THE HIGHWAY, TURNED THE SUV OFF AND RESTARTED IT. THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO 70 MILES PER HOUR WHILE IT WAS PARKED. THE SPEEDOMETER STAYED AT 70 MPH AS I MADE MY WAY BACK TO THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE READ SEVERAL, LITERALLY HUNDREDS, OF SIMILAR SITUATIONS ONLINE ABOUT CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THERE ARE NO RECALLS REGARDING THIS MALFUNCTION. THE FIRST TIME MY GAUGES FLUCTUATED WAS ABOUT 3 YEARS AFTER I PURCHASED THE SUV. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, RESTARTED IT AND HAD NO MORE PROBLEMS, SO I THOUGHT IT MAY HAVE BEEN A GLITCH AND THOUGHT NOTHING ELSE ABOUT IT. AFTER READING OTHER CONSUMERS' CONCERNS ABOUT THE PROBLEM, I DISCOVERED MOST OF THEM HAD PROBLEMS WITH THEIR SPEEDOMETERS DURING THE SECOND YEAR AFTER THE SUV WAS PURCHASED. IT'S A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN ONE CANNOT GAUGE HIS OR HER SPEED WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING ALL OF A SUDDEN. IT'S DANGEROUS AT CROSSWALKS, SCHOOLS ZONES, AND EVERY ROAD AND HIGHWAY WE TRAVEL ON. CONSUMERS HAVE COMPLAINED TO THEIR CHEVROLET SERVICE MECHANICS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE, BUT MANY ARE TOLD THE PART HAS TO BE REPLACED OR THE ENTIRE CONSOLE HAS TO BE REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED. I AM PERSUADED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHICH HAS AN ADVERSE EFFECT ON THE SPEEDOMETER. HOPEFULLY THIS MATTER CAN BE RESOLVED WITHOUT ANY TRAGIC ENDINGS. *TR

THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THE FUEL TANK WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED A VOLUNTARY RECALL PERTAINING TO THE FUEL TANK FILLER NECK. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY STATED THE VIN WAS INELIGIBLE UNDER THE RECALL DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THE SPEED ODOMETER REGISTERED OVER 120 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WHICH WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL YEAR VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE EXT. MANIFOLD ON MY 2004 TRL BLAZER HAS A LEAK IN THE MAIFOLD BODY. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROX. 120000 MILES ON IT. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM FOR MANUFACTURING DEFECT, BUT GM HAS NOT AS OF YET, ISSUED A RECALL. IT IS A COSTLY REPAIR, AS WELL AS A SAFETY CONCERN, GIVEN THAT THE EXHAUST FUMES CAN ENTER THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE OWNED MANY GM VEHICLES OVERTIME, AND NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE. *TR
I STARTED THE CAR FIRST THING IN THE MORNING AND NOTICED AS I BACKED OUT OF THE GARAGE THAT MY SPEEDOMETER WASN'T WORKING. AS I DROVE DOWN MY STREET, I WATCHED IT, AND IT NEVER MOVED. THE NEEDLE WAS NOT POINTING STRAIGHT DOWN, BUT WAS SIGNIFICANTLY BELOW 0. LATER THE SAME DAY, IT BEGAN WORKING AGAIN, THOUGH THE NEEDLE MOVEMENT WAS JERKY. TWO DAYS LATER, IT STOPPED AGAIN AND HAS NOT WORKED SINCE. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY SAID THERE ISN'T AN ACTIVE RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE RECALLED PRACTICALLY EVERY OTHER SUV THEY MADE THAT YEAR FOR A PROBLEM WITH THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THIS IS MORE THAN AN ANNOYANCE, IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD, AND I THINK GM SHOULD STEP UP AND REPAIR THE PROBLEM, ESPECIALLY SINCE A CURSORY GOOGLE SEARCH TURNS UP MANY, MANY OTHER TRAILBLAZER OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP THE NHTSA COULD OFFER.
DRIVING HOME ON THE INTERSTATE THE SPEEDOMETER ON OUR 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER SUDDENLY STARTED TO CLIMB AND THEN DECEND DONE TO WELL BELOW -0 MPH AND STAYED THERE EVEN THOUGH WE WERE TRAVELING AT 75 MPH. THE SPEEDOMETER IS CURRENTLY FROZEN AT ABOUT 20 MHP MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE HOW FAST WE'RE TRAVELING. DEALER QUOTED REPAIRS AT APPX $800. *TR
GAS GAUGE JUMPS AROUND... ESPECIALLY WHEN FUEL IS LOW. SOMETIMES AT IT'S LOWEST, IT WILL SHOW HALF A TANK. NOW THAT MY WIFE DRIVES THIS SUV WITH MY 7-MONTH OLD SON, IT IS PARTICULARLY WORRISOME. *TR

UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS FUEL LEAKING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
VEHICLE GOES INTO SHUTDOWN MODE WITH AN UNRESPONSIVE ACCELERATOR. MOTOR STILL RUNS BUT NO ACCELERATION. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHEN DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AS YOU HAVE NO POWER TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC AND HARMS WAY. THERE IS NO WARNING THAT A PROBLEM IS IMMINENT. A REDUCED POWER LIGHT COMES ON AND YOU'RE STUCK. VEHICLE IN QUESTION IS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. *TR
EVER SINCE 50K ON MY TRAILBLAZER, THE FUEL GAUGE WAS BEEN INACCURATE. I WILL LOOK AT THE GAUGE AND IT WILL BE AT 1/2 OF A TANK AND JUST 20 MILES LATER ITS AT 1/4. THEN IT MIGHT GO BACK UP TO 1/2. IT WOULD GO AWAY SOMETIMES AND COME BACK BUT NOW IT IS BACK FOR SURE, AND WILL NOT GO AWAY. I TRIED ANOTHER CLUSTER IN MY TRAILBLAZER JUST TO MAKE SURE IT WAS NOT THE GAUGE ITS SELF. IT MUST BE THE FUEL GAUGE SENSOR IN THE TANK ITS SELF. IT IS GETTING TO BE A PROBLEM. I HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS TWICE NOW. ONCE WHILE ON HILL, IN A VERY EXTREMELY HILLY AREA IN OHIO. THE SECOND TIME WAS ON THE FREEWAY. BOTH TIMES WERE DANGEROUS AS I WAS ON THE MIDDLE LANE OF THE FREE WAY WHEN IT HAPPENED AND, AT THE BOTTOM OF A BLIND HILL THE SECOND TIME. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD FLUCTUATE WITH AN INACCURATE READING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS 4WD. I HAD NOTICED A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE. ABOUT TWO DAYS LATER MY SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS AN EVAPORATIVE LEAK DETECTED ACCORDING TO THE CODES THAT THE COMPUTER WAS GIVING. THE MECHANIC THEN CHECKED THE VEHICLE FURTHER AND NOTICE THAT THERE WAS A HAIRLINE FRACTURE IN THE FUEL TANK NEAR THE FILLER NOZZLE. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE AND HE TOLD ME TO CONTACT CHEVY FOR A POSSIBLE RECALL. I DID CONTACT CHEVY AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL BUT I COULD TAKE IT TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND HAVE IT FIXED AT MY EXPENSE. WE HAVE A LOW MILEAGE 2004 CHEVY TRAIL BLAZER (UNDER 45,000 MILES AS OF SEPTEMBER 2011). IN MARCH 2011, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WE HAD THE OIL CHANGED AND TRIED SOME FIXES WITH THE BATTERY CABLES. ALL RESET THE ENGINE LIGHT, BUT EACH TIME THE LIGHT WOULD AGAIN ILLUMINATE AFTER SEVERAL DAYS HAD PASSED. IN AUGUST 2011, WE TOOK IT TO TEXAS AUTO SERVICE TO HAVE THEM TEST THE ENGINE LIGHT SENSOR AND WE THEN PAID FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE CANISTER VENT SOLENOID. ONCE AGAIN, THE LIGHT TURNED OFF FOR A PERIOD OF DAYS AND THEN CAME BACK ON. IN LATE SEPTEMBER WE TOOK IT TO FIRESTONE - AND AFTER 2 DAYS OF TESTING, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL TANK HAD A CRACK. WE THEN PICKED IT UP FROM FIRESTONE AND TOOK IT TO BANKSTON CHEVROLET IN FT WORTH - AFTER ANOTHER DAY OF TESTING, THEY CONCURRED AND WE WERE FORCED TO PAY $1336.18 TO HAVE THE FUEL TANK REPLACED... OTHERWISE WE RAN THE RISK OF A FIRE. WE DID RESEARCH AND FIND THAT MANY OF THE GM TRUCKS HAVE HAD RECALLS ON THIS SPECIFIC FAILURE - BUT NOT OUR SPECIFIC YEAR/MODEL AND VIN NUMBER. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER IN MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IS MALFUNCTIONING. AT SOME POINTS IT SEEMS TO WORK CORRECTLY, THEN IT WILL STICK, OR DROP TO ZERO. SOMETIMES I CAN BE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 30-35 MPH AND THE READING WILL BE AT 110+. I AM READING THAT OTHERS ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM, THAT IT IS WIDESPREAD, BUT AS FAR AS I CAN TELL THERE IS NO RECALL. ON SEVERAL OCCASION OVER THE PAST YEAR MY FUEL GAUGE IN MY 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LT HAS READ INACCURATELY LEADING TO BREAKING DOWN DUE TO THE VEHICLE RUNNING OUT OF GAS WHILE THE GAUGE WAS STILL READING AT LEAST 1/4 TANK MOMENTS BEFORE THE ENGINE STALLS. ON ALL OCCASIONS I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE GAUGE SHOWED 1/4 TANK AND THEN ALL OD A SUDDENLY DROPPED TO E WITH THE FUEL WARNING LIGHT COMING ONE. WITHIN A FEW MILES OF THIS SUDDEN DROP AND THE WARNING LIGHT COMING ON THE ENGINE WOULD STALL DUE THE VEHICLE BEING OUT OF GAS. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO MY LOCAL DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND ALL THEY HAVE OFFERED TO ME IS TO REPLACE THE SENDING UNIT, WHICH IN THIS MODEL IS INTEGRATED WITH THE FUEL PUMP AT THE COST OF ALMOST $800. CALLED CHEVROLET THEY STATED THAT VEHICLES ARE ONLY BEING REPAIRED FOR THIS ISSUE IN NORTHERN, EASTERN AND MIDWESTERN STATES. STATED THEY WILL NOT FIX MY ISSUE THOUGH IT HAS THE SAME ISSUES COVERED UNDER THE SPECIAL COVERAGE, DUE TO MY GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION. *TR

THE PROBLEM STARTED IN JANUARY, 2011, WITH THE VOLTAGE GAUGE TAKING A FEW SECONDS TO COME UP TO FULL VOLTAGE, ACCOMPANIED BY DIM VEHICLE LIGHTS, AT START-UP. ON FEBRUARY 6, 2011, THE TEMPERATURE, AND ONE OTHER GAUGE, STARTED MOVING ERRATICALLY. THE NEXT DAY, FEBRUARY 7, ALL OF THE GAUGES POINTED STRAIGHT DOWN (6 O'CLOCK POSITION). RESEARCH SHOWED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, ACROSS SEVERAL MODEL LINES, BUT GM IS SELECTIVELY REFUSING TO FIX TRAILBLAZERS, UNDER A RECALL. I VERIFIED THIS WITH THE DEALER. THE BATTERY WAS REMOVED FOR THREE HOURS AND A LOANER BATTERY INSTALLED. GAUGES WORKED PROPERLY. A BRAND NEW BATTERY WAS INSTALLED (AGAIN, AFTER THREE HOURS WITH NO BATTERY INSTALLED) ON FEBRUARY 10. AS OF FEBRUARY 28, THE PROBLEM HAS NOT RE-OCCURRED, BUT RESEARCH SHOWS MANY INSTANCES OF THE PROBLEM RE-OCCURRING AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW BATTERY. *TR

CHEVROLET TOLD ME THE SAME PROBLEM HAS BEEN FOUND AND FIXED ON MODELS AS THE TRAILBLAZER, BUT MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE COVERED.
