MY 09' TRAVERSE STARTED TO SHUDDER INTERMITTENTLY ON ACCELERATION AND THEN THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT (SEL) CAME ON. I HAD THE CAR DIAGNOSED AND THE CODE WAS A P0302 (MISFIRE CYL). I HAD THE CAR SERVICED AND REPAIRED BY AN ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC. ALL COILS AND SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED ALONG WITH FUEL INJ SERVICE, PERFORMANCE RESTORE (OIL, GASKETS, ETC). NO DISCREPANCIES WERE NOTED WITH PREVIOUS COILS/PLUGS. THE CAR APPEARED TO BE FIXED. NO PROBLEMS WERE NOTED DURING AN 800 MILE ROUNDTRIP. THEN THE SHUDDERING RETURNED DURING NORMAL DAY DRIVING AROUND TOWN UPON ACCELERATION WITH THE SEL ILLUMINATING. I TOOK THE CAR BACK INTO THE MECHANIC, AND THE CODE WAS THE SAME (P0302). AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH BY THE MECHANIC, A GM TECHNICAL BULLETIN WAS FOUND (#PIP5038B). I'VE CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FILED A COMPLAINT, CASE # 9-5063655170.
IT'S VERY HARD TO TURN THE WHEEL. WHEN TRYING TO TURN IN OR BACK UP IT'S EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, THE STEERING LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BERGER CHEVROLET (616-949-5200, LOCATED AT 2525 28TH ST SE, GRAND RAPIDS, MI 49512) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEY WOULD CONTACT THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 126,000.
CLOSING THE SECOND ROW SEAT BROKE THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY.
STABILITRAK LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON ALONG WITH BRAKE WARNING SYSTEM, CAR POWER KEEPS CUTTING OUT, THIS WILL RESET WHEN I RESTART THE VEHICLE, WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING
VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION DRIVING MY TRAVERSER 2009 ON FREE WAY AT 70 MILES THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND DROP TO 35 MILES PER HR, I DID PUT MY EMERGENCY LIGHT AND MOVE OUT QUICKLY TO AVOID ANY CRASH OR ACCIDENT THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE AND NOT STABLE VEHICLE UNFORTUNATE SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE I HAVE BEEN ON MANY SITUATIONS UNFORTUNATE I DON'T HAVE OPTIONS AND I HAVE TO USE SOME TIMES BUT HONESTLY CHEVY TRAVERSER 2009 IS A HI RISK AND UNSAFE VEHICLE WHERE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT ISSUE YOU WILL GET DURING A USE DAY, CHEVY DEALER DOESN'T FIX ANY ISSUE I REPORT IT ONLY CHARGE ME FOR INSPECTIONS AND RECOMMEND CHANGE ALL KIND OF PARTS AND AFTER I FIX IT THE PROBLEMS THAT THEY RECOMMEND THE PROBLEM PERSIST UNFORTUNATE I HAD SPEND OVER $2500 ALREADY MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THAT I CAN'T DRIVE THIS VEHICLE WITH MY KIDS AND IS VERY EXPENSIVE VEHICLE BUT UN SAFE FOR THE FAMILY, I HOPE SOME LAYER OR ATTORNEY SEE OUR CLAIMS AND SUE CHEVY FOR BRING THIS KIND OF VEHICLES ON THE ROAD ,
I HAVE A CHEVY TRAVERSER 2009 105K MILES ON IT, IT HAVE ALL KING OF PROBLEMS, 3 YEARS AND DON'T PASS EMISSION TEST, I HAVE SPEND AROUND $2500 ON IT SINCE I BOUGHT THIS VEHICHCLE, UNFORTUNATE ON 3 TIMES I HAVE BRING THE VEICLE TO THE DEALER AND IGNITION COILS CHANGED ON FIRST VISIT, THEY TOLD ME TO CHANGE THE CATALITIC CONVERTERS ON 2ND VISIT I DID, AND NOW ON MY LAST INTENT THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAY I HAVE TO FIX ALL THIS FIRST THE WIRING FROM THE MOTOR TO TRANSMITION, EVERY TIME I BRING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THEY CAME OUT WITH SOME THING NEW AND I END PAYING AROUND $200 FOR ONLY DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE, PLEASE IF SOME ONE NOW A GOOD LAWYER OR A SUE CASE LET ME KNOW THANKS
THE WIRING HARNESSES IN THE A-PILLAR AND B-PILLAR ARE NOT SEALED FROM WATER. WATER IS GETTING INTO THEM AND SHORTING OUT THE SPEAKERS. THIS CAUSES THE WARNING CHIMES FOR SEATBELT, BACKUP CAMERA AND ENGINE LIGHT TO NOT SOUND. AFTER A RAIN WATER CAN BE POURED OUT OF THE SPEAKERS CONNECTION BOX. HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 5 YEARS.
THE REAR HATCH WOULD OPEN AND SHUT ON YOU. I OPENED IT AND HAD IT COME DOWN ON ME AND IT CLOSED ON MY LEGS. THE RECALL # 257343 WAS DONE FOR THIS BUT WAS DOING IT AGAIN. I WOULD THINK SINCE IT'S DOING THE SAME THING IT WOULD BE COVERED AGAIN....IT WASN'T. I PAID TO HAVE FIXED.
THE TRUNK DOOR CLOSED DOWN ON ME AND THE SENSOR DID NOT SEND A SIGNAL TO MAKE THE DOOR GO BACK UP. I WAS PINNED DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR AND HAD TO PULL MYSELF OUT VERY QUICKLY, BUT NOT WITHOUT MINOR INJURY TO THE BACK OF MY LEFT ARM. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON AND IN PARK, IN A PARKING LOT. I WAS UNABLE TO POP THE TRUNK, WHEN MY HUSBAND PRESSED THE BUTTON TO MAKE IT AUTOMATICALLY GO UP. THAT'S WHEN, AFTER LEANING INSIDE THE VEHICLE, IT STARTED TO GO BACK DOWN AND DID NOT STOP WHEN THE DOOR TOUCHED ME.
UNSAFE CAR TO DRIVE IN WITH MY KIDS. I HAVE NO TRACTION CONTROL AND VERY SPORADIC POWER LOSS! I WAS DRIVING WITH MY KIDS GOING ABOUT 30MPH AND SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AROUND A CURVE WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR. THANK THE LORD NO ONE WAS HURT AND NEITHER WAS THE VEHICLE. I TRY TO TAKE OFF FROM A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN AND IT'LL EITHER TAKE OFF SUPER FAST AND ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, OR TAKE OFF SLOW WITH NO POWER AND ALMOST GET REAR ENDED. I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED 6 MONTHS AGO AND THE LAST 3 MONTHS HAVE BEEN VERY FRUSTRATING WITH ISSUES OF THIS VEHICLE. I'VE ALREADY PUT $300 INTO IT AND NOW IT'S SAYING TO CHANGE THE CAT CONVERTER. I CALLED THE #1 LOCAL SHOP TO GET A QUOTE AND HE ACTUALLY SAID HIS NUMBER ONE SUPPLIER HAS STOPPED ISSUING THIS PART TO CHEVY TRAVERSE BECAUSE OF ALL THE RECALLS! SO WHAT DO I DO NOW????? I AM A MEDICAL COURIER AND THIS TRAVERSE IS MY SOURCE OF INCOME. I'VE ALWAYS LOVED CHEVYS AND DON'T BUY ANY OTHER BRAND, BUT C'MON. I DON'T HAVE $3000 TO FIX ELECTRICAL ISSUES!! ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFAULT AND MISTAKE!! VERY UNSATISFIED :(
POWER STEERING FAILING WHILE TURNING AND IS DIFFICULT TO TURN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE ENGINE SEIZED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PARK THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND THEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE TIMING CHAIN, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
VEHICLE HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES WITH COMPLETE POWER LOSS. FAILS TO CRANK OR TURN ON. HAD STARTER REPLACED AND CONTINUES TO DO SAME THING.
WHEN I TURN FROM A STOP IT'S LIKE I DON'T HAVE ANY POWER STEERING AND IT'S DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WHEELS. IT'S HAPPENED OFTEN BUT GETTING WORSE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BOUCHER CHEVROLET (1421 E MORELAND BLVD, WAUKESHA, WI 53186) WHO STATED THAT THE CLUTCH WAVE PLATES NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED THE MILEAGE TO BE INCLUDED IN SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER: 14404A (TRANSMISSION CLUTCH WAVE PLATE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
POWER STEERING BECOMES HARD TO TURN WHEN TURNING A CORNER OR TRYING TO PARK IN A PARKING SPOT.NOT MAKING ANY NOISE BUT STEERING GETS REALLY STIFF
POWER STEERING IS VERY HARD TO TURN AT SLOW SPEEDS I HAVE CHECKED POWER STEERING FLUID AND IT'S FULL I'M VERY AFRAID THIS MAY CAUSE ME TO LOSE CONTROL IF IT WOULD HAPPEN GOING DOWN THE HWY PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT CAN I DO.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND LATER TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED MCELVEEN BUICK GMC AT 843-871-6800 (LOCATED AT 117 FARMINGTON RD, SUMMERVILLE, SC 29483) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK MY TRAVERSE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. I HAD TO COAST TO THE EDGE OF THE ROAD AND THEN PUSH IT INTO A PARKING LOT. WHILE DRIVING THE LIGHTS SEEMED TO GO DIM AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF! . THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHO SAID THE TIMING CHAIN WENT AND WHEN IT DID IT BASICALLY BLEW THE ENGINE. A NEW ENGINE COST MORE THEN WHAT I OWE ON THE CAR. AFTER CALLING AROUND I FOUND OUT THAT MECHANICS DO NOT LIKE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE IN THE TRAVERSE BECAUSE THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE. MY MILEAGE IS ABOUT 140,000. I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND FILED A COMPLAINT. I WAS TOLD THEY DO HAVE A 'SPECIAL WARRANTY ON THE TIMING CHAIN HOWEVER IT'S ONLY UP TO 120,000 MILES AND I AM 20,000 OVER THE SPECIAL WARRANTY. IF ENGINE DIES COMPLETELY AT 70MPH ON FREEWAY A BAD WRECK CAN HAPPEN THIS IS UNSAFE AND CHEVROLET SHOULD REPLACE THESE ENGINES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER IN BOTH DIRECTIONS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, BUT FOUND NOT VISIBLE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED GERRY LANE BUICK GMC (6615 FLORIDA BLVD, BATON ROUGE, LA 70806, (225) 341-5413). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED, BUT THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 168,500.
WHILE MY CAR WAS IN MOTION ON CITY STREET I HAD SUDDEN LOSS OF GEARS AND CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO HIGHER GEARS NOR MOVE MORE THAN 25 MPH. HAD DIAGNOSIS THAT I NEEDED NEW TRANSMISSION AT CHEVY DEALERSHIP. DEALER REPEATEDLY DENIED THAT ISSUE WAS RELATED TO SPECIAL COVERAGE BULLETIN #14404, TRANSMISSION CLUTCH WAVE PLATE, WELL DOCUMENTED DEFECT WITH 2009 TRAVERSE AND THEN WANTED TO CHARGE ME RIDICULOUS FEE TO DIAGNOSIS AFTER I REPLACED TRANSMISSION. HAD TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT AT LOCAL SHOP AND OLD TRANSMISSION DISASSEMBLED TO REVEAL BROKEN WAVE PLATE IN 3 PIECES. CHEVY CUST. SERVICE NOW REFUSES TO REIMBURSE FOR ANY COSTS SINCE REPAIR WAS NOT MADE AT DEALER DESPITE THE FACT MY CAR MET REQUIREMENTS FOR SPECIAL COVERAGE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE SERVICE AIR BAG AND SEAT BELT INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED LIT. TEAM CHEVROLET IN VALPARAISO, IN (219- 210-4755) WAS CALLED AND RECOMMENDED DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 132,000.
THE TIMING CHAIN HAS BEEN AN ISSUE NOW TWICE ON THIS CAR. I PURCHASED THE CAR AT 51,000 MILES. IN JANUARY OF 2015 I GOT THE TIMING CHAIN REPLACED. IN DECEMBER OF 2017 AS I WAS DRIVING THE CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN WHILE ON A BUSY ROAD AND SHUT DOWN. 2 SEPARATE MECHANICS ARE SAYING THAT IT IS THE TIMING CHAIN THAT HAS SLIPPED A FEW TEETH AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND THE TIMING CHAIN SHOULD NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED IN THAT SHORT OF A TIME.
I RENT MY CAR THRU HYRECAR AND RENTER DIDN'T RETURN AND NOW WE FIND AFTER BACKGROUND CHECK HYRE CAR DO IT'S USELESS RENTER USED STOLEN DATA TO RUN A BACKGROUND AND RENT A CAR IPAS WAS IN CAR I HAVE BLOCKED NOW SEEN IT PASS ELGIN TOLL AND O'HARE TOLL ELGIN HE ENTER IN NIGHT AND LEAVE ELGINE TOLL IN MORNING MEAN DESTINATION MAYBE SOMEWHERE IN ELGIN
TRAVERSE STOPPED AT A CITY INTERSECTION AND FAILED TO MOVE OR START AFTER THAT. TIMING CHAIN BROKE AT 158,000 CAUSING DAMAGE TO CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. FAILURE OF POWER STEERING WAS AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR MONTHS THAT CAUSED WHEELS TO LOCK UP DURING TURNS AND THEN SUDDENLY RELEASE CAUSING MUCH OVER CORRECTION BECAUSE OF HAVING TO PULL SO HARD ON THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN IT WOULD GO OUT.
MERGING ONTO HIGHWAY. ENGINE MISFIRING RESULTING IN VIOLENT SHAKING OF VEHICLE AND LOSS OF POWER IN A HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC SITUATION. VERY DANGEROUS. SAME PROBLEM ONE YEAR AGO. BOTH TIMES CAUSE WAS FAULTY IGNITION COIL. CODES P0300.
THE HYDRALICS ON THE LIFTGATE ARE FAILING
STABILITRAK/TRACTION CONTROL PROBLEMS I AM THE OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE THAT HAS 165,000+ MILES ON IT. WE HAVE REPAIRED/REPLACED ABOUT $6900: IN 2017 EVAP PURGE VALVE, IN 2017 UPPER COOLANT HOSE, 2016 WATER PUMP GASKET, TIMING CHAIN, 2014 CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND GASKETS, 2014 WATER PUMP AND FRONT MOTOR MOUNT, IN 2009 REVERSE CLUTCH PLATE. NOW THE STABILITY TRAC AND TRACTION LIGHTS BOTH CAME ON STATING TO SERVICE THE BRAKE SYSTEM WHEN YOU ARE IN MOTION AND COME TO A STOP. PLUS TODAY, THE AC DOES NOT COME NOW. ONE VEHICLE WITH ONE OWNER SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS MANY PROBLEMS. CHEVY HAS GOT TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS 2009 MODEL. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.
I HAVE BEEN BATTLING MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALL 2018 AND NOW 2019. NOT TO MENTION THE STABILIZTRAK AND HARD TO TURN STEERING WHEEL. I HAVE BEEN GETTING A MISFIRE IN ALL MY COILS. THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STUTTER, DRINK HIGH VOLUMES OF GAS AND ALMOST SENT ME BROKE. I HAVE CHANGED EVERY COIL, EVERY PLUG, CHANGED THE STABILIZER, TENTIONER, BEARINGS, SWAYBAR LINKS AND MUCH MORE. I AM COMPLETELY DONE WITH CHEVY. THEY KNOW THIS MAKE AND MIDEL IS HORRIBLE AND WE AS CUSTOMERS NEED TO DO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. THIS VEHICLE SOUNDS LIKE A TIN CAN WHEN IT STARTS. IT RATTLES AND STUTTERS WHILE DRIVING AND IT SHAKES WHEN STATIONARY.
OUR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND OUR VEHICLE STARTED MISFIRING AFTER WE TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY FIXED THE AIRBAG CODES SO THE AIR BAG WARNING WOULD GO OFF. THEY SAID THEY HAD TO CHANGE THE WIRING IN THE ENGINE TOO NOT JUST BETWEEN SEATS. WE REPLACED ALL SIX PLUGS AND 3 COILS THAT THE CODES SAID WERE MISFIRING. GOT IT BACK AND DROVE TO GEORGIA BOUT A 2 1/2 HOUR DRIVE. BEFORE WE GOT THERE IT MISFIRED CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE MADE IT BACK ON SUNDAY BUT CAR STARTED LOSING POWER AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEPT FLASHING. I BARLEY MADE IT TO EXIT AND HAD TO STOP AT GAS STATION ACROSS FROM THE ONE HER RIDE WAS AT. OUR FRIENDS GOT IT PULLED INTO A SPOT BUT IT MADE WEIRD POPPING NOISES AND HAD BURNING SMELL WITH NO POWER THEN AT VERY END POWER KICKED IN AND HE HAD TO SLAM BRAKES. I LEFT CAR THERE AND FORGOT TO LOCK IT SO WE DROVE BACK TO SEE IF MY HUSBAND COULD GET IT BACK TO SHOP. MY HUSBAND WAS ACCELERATING UP ON RAMP AND CAR JERKED AND DIED COMPLETELY. HE HAD TO FIGHT IT OVER TO EMERGENCY LANE AT TOP OF RAMP. VEHICLE WOULDN'T START. COSTED 150 TO HAVE IT TOWED TO SHOP. SHOP REPLACED CATALYTIC CONVERTERS AFTER ABOUT A WEEK CAUSE HAD TO FIG OUT WHAT HAP. DROVE CAR COUPLE WEEKS IT MESSED UP AGAIN. SHOP REDID THE WIRING IN ENGINE THAT DEALERSHIP MESSED UP AND WE BOUGHT GM PLUGS AND 3 COILS. CAR WORKED A LITTLE BIT MESSED UP AGAIN. TRIED TO GET IT 75 MILES TO DEALERSHIP AND PULLED OVER TO HAVE IT TOWED 150 AGAIN BECAUSE IT WAS ABOUT TO DIE COMPLETELY AGAIN. CONVERTERS HAD TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. CAR IS MESSED UP AGAIN. HUSBAND RESEARCHED IT BAD TIMING (WHICH MAKES ENGINE SKIP TIME AND IT HAD BEEN JERKING AND LURCHING SO PROBABLY IS WHAT BROKE MOTOR MOUNT) MAKES THE COILS SEND TOO MUCH GAS AND INSIDES OF CONVERTERS MELT AND BLOCK UP. I RECENTLY WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP IN LOWELL AND CAME ACROSS SOME ISSUES WITH THE STEERING. THERE WAS FLUID LEAKING FROM THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND GEAR.
