THE COVERS FOR THE SECOND ROW SEATBELTS SEEM TO HAVE STRCHECH OUT OF IT CASEING. MAIN ISSUE THE CHECK ENGINE WHEN OFF AND HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH TRACTION CONTROL, ENGINE POWER REDUCED, MISFIRE OF DIFFERENT, OXYGEN SENSOR (AFTER GETTING IT REPLACED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, AT CHEVY DEALER) OVER $5,000 IN DIFFERENT REPAIRS AND UPDATE AND EVERYTHING SEEMS TO STILL BE HAVING ISSUES. RECENTLY THE ABS HAS BEEN GOING OF AND WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE IT, AT LEAST 3 TIMES. MOST HAPPEN ON HIGHWAY. THE ENGINE REDUCES POWER AND THE CAR FEELS LIKE BEING PULL BACK IF THE GAS IS RELEASE THE ABS START GOING OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AND A WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT ALL THREE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THE VEHICLE BEGAN SPUTTERING WHEN TRAVELING FROM 20-25 MILES PER HOUR & WHEN DRIVING UP AN INCLINE. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ONSTAR SAID THERE WERE 7 FAULT CODES. THE PRIMARY CODE WAS P0300, INDICATING AN EMISSIONS ISSUE. ISSUE STARTED DAYS AFTER TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. *TR
TWICE IN THE PAST 11 MONTHS I HAVE HAD CYLINDER COIL FAILURES WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS AT HIGH SPEEDS. THE COIL FAILURES AND RESULTING MISFIRES CAUSED A SUDDEN LOSS OF FULL POWER AND A DANGEROUS SLOW DOWN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. *TR
2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION AFTER RECALL INSPECTION AND EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR AN INSPECTION OF THE TRANSMISSION, PER THE RECALL REQUEST, NO FAILURE WAS FOUND. 5 DAYS LATER THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. THE CONSUMER WAS 1,000 MILES OVER THE WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. ALSO, THE ALL 3 CATALYTIC CONVERTERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE WARNING INDICATORS FOR THE AIR BAGS, SERVICE ENGINE, AND LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS SHORTED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNING ODOR NEAR THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED SEVERAL TIMES BY THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, A DEER CROSSED THE VEHICLE'S PATH AND CRASHED INTO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR BRUISING, BUT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO SOLUTION AND THE VEHICLE WAS TRADED IN FOR A 2013 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
WELL MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON FREEWAY WITH OUR KIDS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN THE VEHICLE POWERED DOWN, WE FELT LIKE IT WAS TIMING CHAIN AND TURNS OUT IT WAS.. GENERAL MOTORS FIXED TIMING CHAIN PROBLEM BUT NOW THE DEALERSHIP SAYS ALL THREE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS ARE BAD BECAUSE OF GAS SEEPING IN BECAUSE OF THE TIMING ISSUE AND TO FIX THE CONVERTERS IT WILL COST UPWARDS OF 2500 DOLLARS... SO IF SOMEONE COULD PLEASE ADVISE OF ANY KNOWN RECALLS PLEASE... ALSO WE JUST BOUGHT THE TRUCK TWO WEEKS AGO AND WITH SEVEN KIDS DON'T HAVE THE CASH LAYING AROUND FOR SUCH A EXPENSIVE REPAIR THAT WE FEEL SHOULD BE COVERED IF CAUSED BY THE TIMING ISSUE IN THE FIRST PLACE. *TR
AS SOON AS MY VEHICLE REACHED JUST OVER 102,000 MILES, MY ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE WE WERE DRIVING OUR KIDS TO PRACTICE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP THAT HAS BEEN REPAIRING MY VEHICLE SINCE WE PURCHASED IT (1.5 YEARS PRIOR TO THE ENGINE SHUTTING DOWN) AND THEY HAVE INFORMED US WE NEED A COMPLETELY NEW ENGINE BECAUSE THE CRANKSHAFT IS COMPLETELY BLOWN. WHEN THEY FINALLY GOT IT STARTED UP, IT SOUNDED LIKE A BAG OF HAMMERS BEING VIOLENTLY SHAKEN. IN THE 1.5 YEARS THAT WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE, THE TIMING BELT HAS GONE OUT, AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT CAUSED THE CAR TO SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY AS WELL, AND ANOTHER REPAIR THAT MY HUSBAND HANDLED SHORTLY AFTER WE GOT THE CAR. CHEVY HAS TOLD US WE ARE OUT OF LUCK AND THAT WE HAVE TO PAY FOR A NEW ENGINE. WHEN THE DEALERSHIP CHECKED THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE WE WERE GOING TO TRY TO TRADE IT IN, THEY TOLD US THE CAR, IN PERFECT WORKING CONDITION WOULD ONLY BE WORTH $6,000.00, EVEN THOUGH 1.5 YEARS PRIOR, IT WAS WORTH $20,000. THE ENGINE REPLACEMENT IS GOING TO COST US MORE THAN THE VEHICLE IS WORTH! FROM WHAT WE HAVE SEEN, A LOT OF THESE CARS (SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL) ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED COMPLETELY!
POWER STEERING COMPLETELY FAILS WHEN MAKING LOW SPEED TURNS (EX. INTO A PARKING SPACE, AT AN INTERSECTION...ETC.). STEERING GETS VERY STIFF THAT AT TIMES I CANNOT COMPLETE THE TURN. HAVE TO STOP AND REVERSE TO STRAIGHTEN OUT. BEEN VERY CLOSE TO HITTING VEHICLES BECAUSE OF IT. FROM WHAT I AM RESEARCHING, I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL TO FIX IT. I GUESS THE INDUSTRY DOESN'T SEE IT AS BIG ISSUE SINCE THEY AREN'T THE ONES DRIVING THESE CARS AND PUTTING THEIR OWN LIVES, FAMILY'S LIVES AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD AT RISK. IT'S EASY FOR THEM TO SAY "FIX IT ON YOUR OWN" OR "JUST BUY ANOTHER CAR". BUT FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T AND DEPEND ON THEIR VEHICLE DAY IN AND DAY OUT, IT'S A BIG PROBLEM. I WOULD UNDERSTAND IF IT WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR OR IF NO ONE ELSE WAS HAVING THESE PROBLEMS, BUT ITS NOT. IT'S A BIG PROBLEM ALL OVER THE U.S. FIX IT PLEASE !!!
A PERIODIC FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING HAD OCCURRED FROM WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NEW. SOMETIMES 2 TO 3 TIMES A MONTH BUT SOMETIMES NOT FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. DEALER "UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM. BRING IT IN WHEN IT IS DOING IT". ONLY LASTED THROUGH 1 TO 2 TURNS AND THEN IT WAS FINE. IT HAS DONE THIS SENSE NEW. A MONTH AGO IT STARTED DOING THIS ALL THE TIME. 8 OUT OF 10 TURNS YOU WOULD LOOSE STEERING. MY WIFE RAN OFF INTO THE GUTTER SEVERAL TIMES. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL TRUSTED REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD THERE HAVE BEEN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS SAME PROBLEM AND G.M HAS NOT ADDRESSED IT. REPAIR COST $900.00 . I LOOKED ON-LINE AND IT WAS TRUE. THERE IS EVEN A CLASS ACTION SUIT FILED DUE TO THIS ISSUE. (MAINLY AT LOW SPEED TURNS BUT NOT ALWAYS).
WHILE DRIVING OUR 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE, LT, BACK FROM VACATION, WE EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN HIGH RPM RATE WHILE NOTICING A DECREASE IN ACCELERATION. TOOK VEHICLE TO A TRANSMISSION REPAIR CENTER AND WAS TOLD IT IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE GM MODELS SIMILAR TO THE TRAVERSE. THE MANUFACTURER RECOGNIZES THE ISSUE, AS IT RELATES TO THEIR SERVICE BULLETIN SB-07-30-012A. HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION WAVE PLATE REPLACED, AS WELL AS SOME OTHER INTERNAL PARTS. TOTAL COST OF $3500. VEHICLE HAS 117,000 MILES. WILL BE CONTACTING GMAC TO DISCUSS THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF THIS ISSUE WHILE NOT OFFERING A SOLUTION FROM A MANUFACTURER'S STANDPOINT. I FEEL THIS COULD BE CLASSIFIED AS A SAFETY ISSUE AND AS SUCH SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER, REGARDLESS OF YEAR OF VEHICLE. *TR
WHEN DECELERATING OR MOVING SLOWLY, THE CAR INTERMITTENTLY EXPERIENCES A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING. MY WIFE IS BARELY ABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL.
LOSS OF STEERING DUE TO LEAKING STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY.
AT LOW SPEEDS IT GET HARD TO STEER. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER NOT SURE WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT.
TAKATA RECALL...WHEN IM DRIVING MY STEERING WHEEL SEEMS TO LOCK UP ...AND IT ALSO CAUSE A BAD SHAKING.
THERE IS LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST WHEN TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS. IT IS UNSAFE AS THE VEHICLE BECOMES HARD TO STEER WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT. THIS ISSUE IS KNOWN TO THE AUTO-MAKER AND THEY ONLY WANT TO REPLACE POWER STEERING PUMP AND FLUID. THE POWER STEERING GEAR IS LEAKING AND GM SHOULD RECALL THIS UNSAFE PART. THE STEERING FUNCTION OF AN AUTOMOBILE IS CRITICAL AS HUMAN LIVES ARE AT THE MERCY OF THIS COMPONENT OF THE VEHICLE TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED.
2009 CHEVY TRAVERSE WITH 98XXX MILES ON IT. WE HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES FOR THE PAST 40,XXX+ MILES THAT WE'VE HAD IT. THE STEERING WILL INTERMITTENTLY SEIZE UP WHILE DRIVING, MAKING IT NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE A TURN. IT TAKES MY ENTIRE BODY WEIGHT TO TURN THE WHEEL AND AT TIMES IT LETS LOOSE ALMOST CAUSING ME TO OVERCORRECT. I WILL SOMETIMES HAVE TO MAKE SEVERAL CORRECTIONS BEFORE GETTING INTO A PARKING SPOT. IT IS A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION THAT GM NEEDS TO CORRECT AS IT IS SEEMINGLY A UNIVERSAL ISSUE.

WHEN MAKING A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND NO REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
2009 CHEVY TRAVERSE WITH 68000 MILES. VEHICLE HAS HAD STEERING PROBLEMS WHICH I BROUGHT TO DEALER WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. WAS TOLD THAT SOUND (SQUEEL/REV) WAS NORMAL. NOW CAR NOT UNDER WARRANTY. NOISE GETTING LOUDER. TAKE TO DEALER. SAYS I NEED NEW POWER STEERING PUMP, AND RACK AND PINION. I NOTICE THERE IS A SPECIAL COVERAGE 14329 WHICH COVERS POWER STEERING ISSUES (PUMP ETC.). PRICE QUOTED TO FIX EVERYTHING WAS $2500. I ASKED FOR PRICE RELIEF GIVEN THE HISTORY OF THE POWER STEERING PROBLEMS, I HAD RAISED THE ISSUE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, AND THE SPECIAL COVERAGE. DEALER AND GM REFUSE TO OFFER ANY REIMBURSEMENT. NOT EVEN FOR THE PUMP WHICH IS COVERED UNDER SPECIAL COVERAGE 14329. I AM NOW OUT $2500. THIS STEERING SYSTEM WAS A LEMON FROM THE GET GO. STEERING IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED FRO ALL VEHICLES IN THE 2009-11 RANGE FOR TRAVERSE/ACADIA/ENCLAVE. IT IS NOT ONLY IRRESPONSIBLE, BUT GROSS NEGLIGENCE NOT TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM AND PASS THE PROBLEM TO THE CUSTOMER.
UNEXPLAINED/EXCESSIVE OIL USAGE, VEHICLE IS NOT LEAKING OR BURNING OIL.
STEERING WHINE, SOME LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. CALLED DEALER FIRST SAID RACK COVERED ON DAY OF APPOINTMENT, RACK NOT COVERED. CALLED GM, WON'T COVER. CASE 8-2095354928.
"TAKATA RECALL" THIS CAR HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE FROM THE DAY WE BOUGHT IT. IT HAS HAD 4 RACK AND PINIONS, THE STRUTS REPLACED, A GEAR REPLACED IN THE STEERING COLUMN, A NEW POWER STEERING PUMP, A FUEL INJECTOR, AND TIMING CHAIN REPAIR. NOW IT IS IN THE SHOP AGAIN FOR ANOTHER ROUND OF TIMING CHAIN GONE BAD AND TENSIONERS, AS WELL AS NOW THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER IS LEAKING BACK INTO THE SYSTEM WHICH I WAS TOLD WILL CAUSE MY BRAKES TO JUST NO LONGER WORK AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. I DRIVE MY CHILDREN IN THIS CAR, I PAID OVER $25,000.00 FOR IT AND I HAVE PUT OVER $8,000.00 IN REPAIRS INTO IT. I AM NOW HAVING TO REPAIR THE BRAKE ISSUE OR CHANCE MY FAMILY BEING KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT. WHILE MY HUSBAND HAS LOST HIS JOB IN THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY. I CAN'T EVEN SALE THE STUPID CAR, BECAUSE IT IS WORHTLESS!!! I AM DISGUSTED AND DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS VEHICLE, THE MANUFACTURER FOR DOING NOTHING FOR THEIR BUYERS AND THE FACT THAT THERE HAVE BEEN NO RECALLS ON THE BRAKE ISSUE, WHEN THERE ARE MULTITUDES OF PAGES ON THE WEB OF COMPLAINTS OVER THE SAME ISSUE.
THE REAR LIFTGATE SUPPORT ARMS FAILED. THIS IS NOT A POWER ACTUTATED UNIT IT IS A MANUAL UNIT AND THE REAR LIFT GATE WILL NOT STAY UP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO INCREASE TO 110 MPH WITHOUT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. IN ORDER TO DECREASE SPEED, THE CONTACT SHIFTED THE GEAR INTO NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 99,000.
I BOUGHT THE CAR FOR MY FAMILY AND THE FIRST MONTH THERE WHERE NO ISSUES NOW THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON AND IT JERKS AND HESITATES ON A FREQUENT BASIS. I BOUGHT THE CAT THINKING IT WAS A SAFE CHOICE FOR MY FAMILY I'M NOW RETHINKING THAT BECAUSE EVEN WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT ON THE PROBLEM CAN'T BE DIAGNOSED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED, WHICH CAUSED THE RACK AND PINION TO FAIL. THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS REPAIRED UNDER A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN, BUT THE RACK AND PINION WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
WHEN PUTTING THE SECOND ROW SEAT BACK INTO THE SEATING POSITION (AFTER IT WAS FOLDED FLAT) PART OF THE PLASTIC ON THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE RECEPTACLE BROKE OFF AND IT NO LONGER WORKS. THE BUCKLE CAN JUST BE PULLED OUT NOW. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS SAME ISSUE SO MY VEHICLE'S YEAR, BUT CHEVROLET SAID MY VEHICLE ISN'T INCLUDED.

THE CONTACT CALLED A DEALER (LANNAN CHEVROLET, 40 WINN ST, WOBURN, MA 01801, (781) 897-0508) TO INSPECT AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT SEND A NOTIFICATION OF ANY EXTENDED WARRANTY CAMPAIGNS; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN A WATER PUMP SEAL LEAK, POWER STEERING, TRANSMISSION, AND ADDITIONAL SERVICE CAMPAIGNS. AFTER THE DEALER'S REPAIRS, THE VEHICLE WAS RODE ROUGHLY AND THE ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED TWO DAYS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHO INDICATED THAT FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR LONGER THAN TWO WEEKS WITH NO RESOLUTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE A REMEDY FOR THE SEVERAL EXTENDED WARRANTY CAMPAIGNS, OF WHICH SOME WERE NOT COMPLETED, BUT THE DEALER SPECIFIED ON THE INVOICE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO SWITCH GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A SECOND OPINION WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THIRD GEAR, FIFTH GEAR, AND REVERSE FUNCTION WERE SLIPPING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN USE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
HAD MY STEERING PUMP REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP ON A RECALL TOLD ME TO WATCH MY STEERING THE RACK AND PINION DID NOT GET REPLACED ON FEBRUARY 19TH 2016 PICKING UP MY BOYS FRONT AND START SHAKING CHECK POWER STEERING FLUID IT'S ON THE LOW SIDE BEEN TOLD IT'S MY RACK AND PINION. NUMEROUS AC ISSUES, DEALER HAS NEVER BEEN ABLE TO REPAIR.NOW WE RECEIVE ENGINE CODE STATING THE #4 CYLINDER MISFIREING. BEFORE WE CAN HAVE IT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE JUST QUIT. NO POWER FROM ENGINE, NO BRAKES, ALL KINDS OF ELECTRICAL SENSORS ARE GIVING ALERTS AND CAR JUST TURNS OFF. SEEMS TO ALSO BE AFFECTING COOLING FAN AND STEERING. ALSO EVER SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE HAS MADE A WIERD NOISE IN THE FRONT END. DEALER CLAIMS IT WAS NOTHING AND AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED WE TOOK IT IN FOR AC AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THE FRONT STRUTS WERE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH ALL KINDS OF AC PARTS. HOW COME THIS WAS NEVER MENTIONED UNTIL WARRANTY EXPIRED? I AM SO TIRED OF GETTING RIPPED OFF WITH VEHICLES. HAD ISSUES WITH FORD, DODGE AND NOW GM. GUESS ITS TIME TO TRY AN IMPORT?
MASTER CYLINDER / BRAKE BOOSTER LEAKING- WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON "TRACTION CONTROL OFF/ STABILITRACK OFF - SERVICE BRAKE SOON. BRAKE FLUID LEAKED FROM MASTER CYLINDER INTO BRAKE BOOSTER. $1,135 FIX. THIS WOULD HAPPEN BETWEEN 5 AND 10 MILES AFTER DRIVING.
FAILED TCM MODULE , CAUSING TRANSMISSION TO RACE AND SLIP CONSTANT TRANSMISSION LEAKS.

DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, ALARMS WENT OFF, MESSAGES APPEARED THAT STABILITRAK WAS OFF. TOLD US TO SERVICE BRAKING SYSTEM. AS PER MANUAL WE TURNED THE CAR OFF TO LET SYSTEM RESET. OK FOR ABOUT 1/2 HOUR DRIVING TIME, DID IT AGAIN. TURNED OFF, RESET. DID IT AGAIN BUT THIS TIME THE STABILITRAK WILL NOT COME BACK ON. GOING TO DEALERSHIP ON THURSDAY TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. WE ALSO HAVE A BULLETIN ABOUT TRANSMISSION FAILURE WHERE WE CAN LOSE 3RD, 5TH & REVERSE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHICH GM WILL NOT ADDRESS UNTIL THERE IS A PROBLEM. AFTER 30 LOYAL YEARS WE ARE FINISHED WITH GM. WE ARE TRADING IN THIS VEHICLE AFTER REPAIR & BUYING ANOTHER BRAND. WE FEEL THAT NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE CONSUMER UNTIL DEATHS HAPPENED. I'VE BEEN READING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE STEERING PROBLEM WITH THE 2009 CHEVY TRAVERSE AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY GM HAS YET TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THE STEERING ISSUES. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHEN I TRY TO TURN EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT WHERE THE STEERING STARTS TO STIFFEN UP MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO TURN. OR IF I'M PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, TRYING TO TURN IS AN ISSUE. THIS IS A SERIOUS FATALITY WAITING TO HAPPEN. ARE THEY GOING TO WAIT UNTIL THE LAWSUITS START COMING IN BEFORE THEY DO SOMETHING?

MY POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE PUMP, BUT SAID IT STOPPED WORKING BECASUE THE RACK AND PINION STEERING WAS LEAKING. THE RACK AND PINION STEERING REPLACEMENT COST IS $2100, WHICH I NEED TO PAY. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE RACK AND PINION STEERING IS NOT PART OF THIS SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT, WHEN IT IS THE CAUSE OF THE PART REPLACED AS A RESULT OF THE SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT THIS IS NOT A RECALL. WHEN THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING, IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. IF THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN ACCIDENT OR DEATH AS A RESULT OF THIS PROBLEM, THERE SOON WLILL BE, IN THE PAST YEAR I HAVEE SPENT $6,000 ON REPAIRS FOR THIS CAR, WHICH HAS 82,000 MILES. I HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKE LINE FOR $1500, $2000 FOR REPLACEMENT OF 3 IGNITION COILS AND 3 SPARK PLUGS AND A GASKET. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE A SPARK PLUG. NOW, I HAVE BEEN ASKED TO SPEND $2100 TO REPLACE THE RACK AND PINION STEERING. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, I AM TRADING IN THIS CAR BEFORE ANOTHER VERY EXPENSIVE PROBLEM DEVELOPS. THE LABOR COST FOR REPAIRS IS VERY EXPENSIVE BECAUSE THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REMOVED TO REACH THE SECTION THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD THAT THESE PROBLEMS HAPPEN AS CARS GET OLDER, BUT THE NUMBER OF PROBLEMS THE TRAVERSE HAS VERSUS THE NUMBER OF PROBLEMS CARS OF SIMILR MILEAGR HAS SEEMS TO BE LOPSIDED. THIS EXPERIENCE HAS SOURED ME ON EVER PURCHASING A CHEVROLET AGAIN.
THE WIFE COMPLAINED ABOUT BRAKES SOUNDING ODD, A WEEK AFTER HAVING NEW BRAKES INSTALLED. TOOK IT IN, THEY SAID THEY LOOKED FINE. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN HER ANTI-LOCK BREAK LIGHT AND STABILITRAK LIGHT GO OFF WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON A MAJOR SURFACE STREET (50MPH). TAKE IT IN TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT, THEY FIND A SENSOR IN THE BRAKE CYLINDER IS BAD, AND THE CYLINDER IS GUSHING BRAKE FLUID. $800+ TO FIX. PLUS OUR POWER STEERING IS GOING BAD. THERE IS AN INTERNAL LEAK IN SOME BOOTS THAT ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. $1200 TO FIX. IT'S LIKE THEY HAD A BUNCH OF PARTS LYING AROUND, AND THEY SLAPPED THEM TOGETHER TO BUILD A VEHICLE, EVEN THOUGH NONE OF THE PARTS WORK TOGETHER. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NEVER HAVE WASTED THE MONEY TO PROP UP A HORRIBLY INEFFICIENT COMPANY.
WE HAD A POWER STEERING NOISE. TOOK TO OUR CHEVY DEALERSHIP. RECOMMENDED POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACEMENT UNDER SPECIAL COVERAGE 14329(BULLETIN/EXTENDED WARRANTY) THEY FOUND FLUID LEAKING OUT OF THE FRONT RACK POWER STEERING BOOTS. RECOMMENDED REPLACING RACK & PINION & PROFORMING A FRONT END ALIGNMENT AT A COST OF $1119.05 TO ME. WE FEEL THAT THIS REPAIR SHOULD BE COVERED BY GM SINCE IT IS ALSO ALL PART OF THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. WE DISCOVERED THRU THE INTERNET THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ON THE 2009 TRAVERSE STEERING SYSTEM.
CAR WAS PARKED ON A VERY MINOR GRADE, TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK, KEYS REMOVED AND THE CAR WAS LOCKED. THE CAR THEN BEGIN ROLLING BACKWARDS UNTIL IT WAS STOPPED BY ANOTHER CAR IN THE PARKING LOT. THIS OCCURRED IN A CHURCH PARKING LOT AND SEVERAL PEOPLE OBSERVED AFTERWARDS THAT THE CAR WAS INDEED LOCKED AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK. NO ONE WAS IN EITHER VEHICLE. I DON'T HAVE ANY PHOTOS OR A POLICE REPORT, ONLY WITNESSES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WAVE CLUTCH PLATE WAS DEFECTIVE AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.

WHILE DRIVING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WARNING MESSAGES FOR TRACTION CONTROL OFF, SERVICE STABLETRAK AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER FLASHED. SUDDENLY THE CAR SLOWED TO 20 MPH AND WOULD NOT GO FASTER. I FELT LUCKY TO GET THE CAR OUT OF THE HEAVY TRAFFIC SAFELY. THE MAXIMUM SPEED REDUCED TO ABOUT 5 MPH. AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT NORMALLY TO BE SERVICED. THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AND IT SEEMS NORMAL NOW.
TOOK MY CAR INTO DEALERSHIP MARTIN CHEVROLET BECAUSE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. SINCE MY CAR WAS NEW IN 2009 MY STEERING ON MY CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN HARD TO TURN. I ASKED THEM WITHIN A YEAR OF GETTING CAR BUT SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. WELL THE POWER STEERING WATER PUMP AND STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WAS LEAKING. ALSO MY TIMING CHAIN WAS DEFECTED. THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE TIMING CHAIN AND PUMP BUT NOT THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY. MY CAR HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON IT. CHEVY KNOWS THAT THE STEERING HAS BEEN DEFECTED BUT WOULD NOT COVER THE GEAR ASSEMBLY SO IT COST ME $934.19 TO FIX. CHEVY SHOULD COVER THE COST FOR EVERYTHING!!
