[XXX] I WAS GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND THE STABILITRAK, TRACTION CONTROL, CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ALL CAME ON. ENGINE REDUCED POWER LIGHT CAME ON I LOST ALL POWER OF THE VEHICLE, I WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND FORCED OFF OF THE ROAD BECAUSE MY ENGINE DIED. I WENT FROM DOING 70 MPH DOWN TO 10 MPH AND CAME VERY CLOSE TO GETTING REAR ENDED. This would have caused a chain reaction rear end crash with multiple vehicles. WHEN I GOT TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD I WASN'T ABLE TO GET MY VEHICLE STARTED. I waited about 10 minutes tried it again. It turned over with yellow engine light remaining on. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. 1 HAVE SEEN WHERE THIS IS A PROBLEM IN THIS YEAR MODEL OF THIS VEHICLE AND WONDERING WHY IT HASN'T BEEN RECALLED YET BY THE MANUFACTURER BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES THERE LIFE. This is my only vehicle and I feel that it is unsafe to drive. I have a one year old granddaughter and her safety is at risk. Please help fix this problem as we need a car to drive. I had to replace the two Modules under the rear bumper one on each side. It was warning me service side detection system on my dash. I took it to parsons Chevrolet in Antigo and they told me this is so common on the traverses they swell up and they make the whole car not run. I had to have it towed to the dealership and spend over $1000 to get it repaired. I was wondering about compensation for this. I’m just shocked if it’s happening to all these vehicles how can there not be a recall issued for a large amount of these happening. Please let me know thank you.
The contact owned a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, an 18-wheeler driving at 65 MPH crashed into the front-end driver's side. The contact's grandson sustained injuries to his chest, and medical treatment was needed for both individuals. The local dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.
2014 chevy traverse driver side seatbelt broke at the cable while putting the seatbelt on. There is a recall for 2009-2014 chevy traverses about this issue but mine isn't a part of that recall and it still happened too me. Chevy will not fix it free of charge. This is a safety issue since my seatbelt does not work properly now. The same year traverse have the problem but my vin isn't in the recall list.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at 75 MPH, The contact smelled fumes and the vehicle had turned off independently. When the vehicle turned off the steering became firm. The traction and service engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed back home. The vehicle had been diagnosed by an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the failure was a faulty front and back valve, relay switch throttle and ignition switch. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and told the contact to make a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
Service air bag keeps coming on. We took it to Chevy dealership and was told the air bag sensor is malfunctioning which is causing the air bag light and service air bag message to appear on the dashboard.
Traction control said off light on. Car shut down power failure. Car shaking as it stopped in traffic almost causing an accident. Barely made off road. I have seen other multiple complaints and no way to fix this problem. It is a death sentence on the highway. With no other transportation for me.
While driving, check engine light went on, stabilitrack and traction control went off (information from Driver Information Center) and power was reduced. This occurred several times over a period of two to three weeks and vehicle slowed down dramatically and had to be driven slowly from the roadway. This was a dangerous situation and luckily it never happened at highway speeds in one of the left lanes of traffic. After safely stopping, I was able to resume travel after turning off engine and restarting, although check engine light would remain on for several on/off cycles. Engine stored code P1682. Brought to dealer service and they repaired per TSB #19-NA-276 related to issues in fuse box. Repair was $406.48. This is a known issue with manufacturer. Also, many owners have mentioned this safety issue on Internet forums and YouTube videos.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse equipped with Cooper tires, Tire Line: CS5 Ultra Touring, Tire Size: 255/50/R20, DOT Number: U9N41CV. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced wobbling due to the driver's and passenger's side front tires. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who mounted and balanced the driver's and passenger's side front tires; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to a tire store and the tires were rebalanced and an alignment was performed; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
2014 CHEVY TRAVERSE LT. Randomly driving on the freeway @ 60-65mph going uphill it started losing power. It started stuttering/coughing. The TRACTION CONTROL OFF and SERVICE STABILITRAK lights flashed. I finally got it home and shut it off. The next morning it drove fine. Then it happened agai a few days later. I replaced the throttle body after it was diagnosed as the problem. On the way home it did the same thing. It wasn't the throttle body. Now they can't find out what is wrong with it. There are no codes. The service repair guys say it is overheating in the shop but not when they drive it and they don't know why. There are no codes. I told them it was random. If I am driving on the Interstate and have these problems and have to turn off the engine and sit for any amount of time is dangerous. Especially if the heat is over 100 degrees as it has been. I'm not sure if it is related to this problem, but my control panel lights go from dim to light randomly. I can't see anything on them during the day when dim. No warnings etc that may flash

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The driver information center does not work during daylight hours. I have done some online research and this is a common problem for several model years on the Chevrolet Traverse. The DIC (drivers information center) notifies you of low fuel, low tire pressure, open doors or hatch and other options.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving 50 mph, the vehicle began to stall and then seized. The contact stated that the low fuel level warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that he was able to restart the vehicle and continued driving to his destination. The contact stated he had experienced the failure on three different occasions. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V223000 (Electrical System, Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
Airbags light turns off & on. Then my vehicle will reset itself while driving. All gauges & lights turn off in vehicle & I have to pull over, turn the car on & off for it to work. Vehicle airbag will also make a popping sound when airbag light turns on & off. Vehicle turns off while driving & fuel light will say full then drop to empty. Power steering will go out & turn back on randomly.
The fuse block/box has been identified, as the problem by the manufacturer and reported to the dealer service centers. There have been numerous complaints filed on the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse fuse block. Service techs were instructed (years ago) to look at the fuse block when the following problems were reported by the owner. If they knew to instruct their techs to look at the fuse block/box, then they knew it was defective - it should have been recalled/replaced at that time. Since it wasn't, there have been ongoing safety risk to many vehicle owners and passengers. It has also required owners to pay hundreds of dollars to repair/replace the known defective part; I just paid $965.00. While driving at any speed, the car will begin shaking/jerking; dashboard messages begin: Engine Power is Reduced, Traction Control Off, Service Stabilitrak, along with the Service Engine light. In the city, before you can move over out of traffic, the engine stalls/stops. You are in the middle of the street with no engine power, no steering, and no brakes. This is very dangerous and can immediately result in an accident...to you/the driver, or cause an accident further behind, when the other drivers can't see that traffic has stopped. Even with flashers on, it may take several attempts to get the vehicle started again. The same situation occurred last year traveling down a highway at a speed of 70 mph, while we (myself and spouse) were able to pull off the road, had the car not started again - we would have had a towing bill back to the dealership service center. We were not told about the fuse block/box (known) problem at that time. I am truly shocked, very disappointed and angry to learn (on my own) that the safety of my granddaughter (from birth) has been a risk every time we traveled in my vehicle. She and I travel alone, sometimes up to 3/4 hrs. away to see family, and could have been in an accident or stranded on the side of a highway, or street, many times.
The electrical system malfunctioned. My car is available upon request for inspection. The lives of myself and my children was at risk. I have not taken my car to a dealer to be inspected, I shouldn’t have to pay the dealer over $100 just to inspect my vehicle for a manufacturer’s defect, especially because there is/was a recall for this exact issue. Recall #14515. I have video of my car doing exactly what is stated in the recall on a different day than the first incident. I was driving on the highway with my 3 children and all of a sudden the lights on my dashboard start lighting up the warning bell starts ringing and the dash displays the messages, “ engine power is reduced, service traction control, service stabilitrack, traction control off.” When this happened my car suddenly slowed down on its own and then ultimately just turned off. I was on the highway so traveling about 70mph. There was a LOT of traffic, we were very lucky that I had a few seconds to pull onto the shoulder when the messages started appearing on the dash before the car turned off I was not at a complete stop when the car shut off and couldn’t steer at all. We could have been hit by a car traveling at a high rate of speed. This same issue has occurred several times since the first incident, I am scared to even put my children into this vehicle. It’s so unfortunate that the manufacturing company is aware of this issue and has only chosen a select number of vehicles to include in the recall.
There is a problem with the stabilitrak system that causes the vehicle to shut off while driving. This turns off the traction control and reduces power to 3 cylinders, thus causing the vehicle to go into limp mode and can cause an accident. This problem is intermittent and the dealers can't seem to find the underlying issue. It will happen whole parked, stopped at an intersection or driving at highway speeds. I have had this happen while driving in heavy traffic on the freeway and in the number one lane. My vehicle lost power and I had to try and negotiate three traffic lanes to stop along side the freeway. I had to put the transmission in park and shut the engine off for 15 seconds in order to clear the code and safely proceed back into traffic. The check engine light remains on for a period of time, but will clear itself. This is unsafe and needs to be address by GM as it is happening to multiple model types in GM vehicle lineup.
Side blind zone detection system reported service required in the driver information center. Upon further investigation drivers side model PN 22844861 was swollen with corrosion. This eventually led to other issues on the vehicle including the turn signals dash information and air bag warning and remote key fob not working. GM issued service bulletin 16-NA-178 for repair. I initiated a case number with GM 9-7646907751. I also found GM N172097060 special coverage for the same issue for the 2013-2014 GMC Acadia, which uses the same system as the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. I would like to get this resolved by GM and I’m unsure why they do not include the Chevrolet Traverse and the Buick Enclave for this special coverage for Side Blind Zone Alert Module Water Intrusion.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, the warning message " Service Air Bag" illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the front passenger’s seat wiring connector had failed and needed to be bypassed. The dealer advised the contact that he would be responsible for half of the cost of the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 109,760.
When driving the vehicle will have a sudden lose of engine power with no warning signs. It will say “engine power reduced” then say “service stabilitrac”, and “traction control off”. This morning when it happened I was turning into a parking lot to drop my kids off and almost hit a sign because the engine completely stalled mid turn. I have also had it happen to me on major highways.
I had a major accident on Thursday, 10/14/2021 where I was it on my drivers side with the other party hitting me around 50-55mph. When the crash occurred, none of the airbags deployed. My side airbag should have deployed. That is a major safety issue, and I might not have hit my head or the steering wheel had they deployed.
When starting the suv, Service air bag comes on and constantly stays on. Dealer says there are no service recalls but online found numerous same year problems referring to this cause.
Air Bag Light on States Service Soon. Light stays on all when is on and Passenger side Light indicate word off. Took SUV to Dealer to service the problem. Dealer service claim the connector under the drivers seat needs repaired. This is a Chevrolet SUV 2014 Traverse vehicle and it has a "Bad Air Bag System", "Air Bag System With Bad Wiring".
I recently purchased a 2014 Chevy traverse LT. While driving on a four lane busy road with a 65 mph speed limit my vehicle without warning said “traction control off, reduced engine power” and within seconds I had no power stealing and I went from driving 65 mph to 10 in less then 10 seconds, the car started violently shaking as well. I had to aggressively redirect the steering wheel to get to the side of the road and turn the vehicle off & wait a few minutes & restart it. It seemed to fix the problem. Within a week it happened again, on the way home from work, and I was nearly rear ended at a 60 mph speed and I am now terrified to drive the car more then a mile up the road to my kids school, I have two small children and this has put us in an almost near death situation TWICE! I purchased this car so I would have a reliable vehicle for my kids and I and it’s been terrifying for my children and I to own this Chevy! The dealership I purchased the vehicle from is over two hours away, I also live in a rural area so to have it diagnosed I’d be having to drive at least 15 miles and I’m terrified to do so
I know there are recalls on other Chevy traverse for air bags. My air bag light goes off every so often, I’m just waiting for the day for it to go off in my face while driving. My power steering pressure pump has been leaking, no longer have power steering, makes driving very difficult/unsafe. I’ve heard of many other Traverse vehicles with the same problem, but why is it not being addressed?
Stabilitrak control light comes on and doesnt turn off for hours or days, especially during long rides. Vehicle jerks and takes longer to get up to speed.
THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. Dealership is unsure what exactly is the issue with the vehicle. While driving the vehicle out of nowhere the engine stalls and the 'engine power is reduced', 'service traction control', 'service stability track' and 'service air bag' messages illuminate across the dash. While these messages display there is no acceleration to the vehicle. This makes it very dangerous to drive.
With no warning the steering wheel locks up and the engine reduces power and starts saying service traction control and stability track. It doesn’t his in rush hour traffic going 75 miles an hour.
On more than 5 occasions my car will say “traction control off” and “reduced engine power” then just shut down. This is very dangerous and can cause an accident. I took it in serval times and mechanics report that there is not issue that they can see. The check engine light with come on and off randomly.
Stabilitrak light was on, then the alarm said traction control off, the check engine light came on. The Traverse certainly has recall problems that need to be looked into, it is a family car. I have provided a you tube link that explains and shows the problem, https://youtu.be/hBvaOIIxnXY I have the same problem on my car.
While driving 55 mph. Car just shut off. Engine light came on. No power no steering. Stalled previously while stopped at a light. Tried to repair at local mechanic suggested take to dealer. Searched on line saw thousands of incidents like mine. Very dangerous.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while moving from a stop position the vehicle failed to accelerate above 10 mph but then would inadvertently accelerate 40 seconds later and remained in second gear. The vehicle failed to shift gears as designed. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000. The consumer stated the vehicle was taken to three different mechanics and the problem still occurs.
I HAD MY AIR BAGS REPAIRED IN OCTOBER 2019. SIX MONTHS LATER THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME BACK ON. I THEN CALLED DENOOYER CHEVROLET WHERE I GOT THE WORK DONE AT. AND THEY SAID I HAD TO PAY FOR IT AGAIN. I DID NOT BRING IT IN BECAUSE THIS WAS SOMETHING I ALREADY PAYED FOR PREVIOUSLY. I CALLED CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPLAINED THE SAME SITUATION TO THEM. THEY ACTED IF THEY WAS GONNA TAKE CARE OF THE REPAIR. BUT THEY DID NOT AND TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THIS HAPPENED MORE THEN ONCE AND NOT JUST IN MY 2014 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. MY WARRANTY DO NOT COVER IT BECAUSE IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE. I NEED HELP IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE AND I AM RISKING MINE AND MY KIDS LIVES EVERYDAY.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE YESTERDAY FROM OFFERUP APP AND THE PERSON THAT SOLD THE CAR TO ME LIE TO ME ABOUT THE MILES IN THE CAR ,SHE WAS ADVERTISING THE CAR WITH 101 85,000 MILES, AND YESTERDAY WHEN I WENT TO THE THE TRANSFER TITLE THEY TOLD ME THAT THE CAR HAS 245,000 MILES I'M SENDING COPY OF THE TITLE WHERE SHOWS THE MILES ARE WRONG, SHE COMMITTED A FRAUD, SELLING ME A CAR WITH FALSE ODOMETER, I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME WITH THIS!!!
One day as I was driving on the freeway, the vehicle's engine light/airbag light came on and the vehicle then went into "engine power reduced mode" I was lucky to be close to a turn-off. I was able to get the vehicle off the road safely. I turned off the vehicle and check it. Then turned the vehicle back on and all lights were off. It was shocking, the car was driving normally. I did not think twice and took it to the dealership. They told us it was just the battery and airbag sensor. Thankful they changed it, no cost to us. But later this happened again, this time it was the "engine light and traction control off". We have no idea what it is. Because we have taken the vehicle to a mechanic to get checked, but they can't seem to find anything wrong with it. This happens several times. Can I have some answers or help to stop this from happening. At this point this vehicle to very dangerous to drive.
AS I DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD THE ENGINE ACTS LIKE ITS GOING TO STALL OR AS IM TAKING OFF IT JERKS
THE FUEL GAUGE READS INCORRECTLY AND WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON. THERE HAVE 2 2EA FUEL LEVEL SENSORS INSTALLED WITH NO LUCK IN KEEPING THE CHECK WILL RETURN. THE ARE CODES P0463, P069E AND C0045.
THE VIN OF MY CAR SHOULD BE PART OF THE GROUP OF AIR BAG RECALL. THE AIR BAG SYMBOL IS ACTIVATING IN THE VEHICLE DASH BOARD, AND IT IS OF A GREAT CONCERN THAT IT GOT OVERSEEN. I THOUGHT IT WAS PART OF THE AIR BAG RECALL, BUT WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THAT IT DIDN'T HAVE A RECALL. I WANT TO REPORT THIS BEFORE A SAFETY RISK HAPPENS.
TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON THE THE CAR WILL START DECREASING SPEED OR JUST SHUT OFF. THEN IT WILL NOT START UP FOR A FEW MINUTES. VERY UNSAFE ON HIGHWAY
SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT RANDOMLY COMES ON AND MOST OF THE TIME STAYS ON EVEN THOUGH THE AIR BAGS ARE FINE.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE WILL CUT OUT. THE TRUCK WILL STUTTER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL GO ON. A MESSAGE WILL APPEAR ON THE DISPLAY: SERVICE STABILITRACK, TRACTION CONTROL TURNED OFF. A SECONDARY MESSAGE WILL DISPLAY AS REDUCING ENGINE POWER AND THEN THE TRUCK WILL STALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE IN TRAFFIC OR DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY IN NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. IT HAS BEEN OCCURRING MORE FREQUENTLY. ONCE THE VEHICLE SITS FOR 20 TO 30 MINUTES IT WILL USUALLY START BACK UP. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON. ONCE THE VEHICLE IS PARKED OVERNIGHT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT USUALLY GOES OFF. I HAVE SEEN THAT THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT WITH THIS VEHICLE. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY FAMILY AS THIS CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME. WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER DOING 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE IT HAD TO BE TOWED. IT WAS LOOKED AT BY A SERVICE STATION AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE ANY PROBLEM.THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE WAS 1/20/21 WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS.
THE TRAVERSE RANDOMLY LOSES POWER AND STALLS WHILE DRIVING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATES AND A MESSAGE STATING VEHICLE REDUCING POWER APPEARS ON THE DISPLAY. THE ENGINE THEN CUTS OUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIME RECENTLY WHILE IN TRAFFIC AS WELL AS ON THE HIGHWAY. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 65 MPH. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FREQUENTLY WITH THE LATEST OCCURRENCE 01/20/2021. ONCE THE TRUCK SITS FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 30 MINUTES THE VEHICLE WILL START AND RUN. SOMETIMES THE ISSUE WILL HAPPEN AGAIN WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT. TYPICALLY ONCE THE VEHICLE SITS OVERNIGHT THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL GO OFF BY ITSELF. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AS WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN INVOLVED IN A COUPLE ACCIDENTS DUE TO THIS ISSUE.
I WENT TO BUCKLE MY SEATBELT AND THE SEATBELT CABLE SNAPPED.
2014 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE - 90K MILES - SERVICE AIRBAG DASH LIGHT COMES ON AT STARTUP AND STAYS ON DURING NORMAL DRIVING. I SEE SEVERAL SIMILAR COMPLAINTS.
