The biggest problem is that mechanics don't know how to fix this problem. Traction control needs servicing with causes you to lose acceleration on the freeway. Then sometimes stabilitrac also goes off. Now the vehicle engine keeps running when turned off. The air conditioning sometimes randomly won't work at all, and last the tire servicing system now won't sync.
The second seat seat buckled one on driver side and the one in middle have broken. My families safety is at risk because we are not able to use the seatbelts with these broken buckles. No I have not taken it to a dealer or independent repair shop nor has it been inspected. No warning lamps or messages appeared when it first appeared nor has it since. My car has not been in an accident.
Air bag on right side is off, Vehicle front dash has the air bag needs to be serviced. this started as of the 1st month of purchased, took to dealership and they could not duplicated the problem. The air bag would go off and off from time to time, but by the time I had my appointment at the dealership it would go back on. Now I am out of warranty and the light is always red that the air bag on the right side is off. I noticed that when we would close the back of the vehicle after placing groceries the light would go off and when closing again it would go off. Now it is always on indicating that the right air bag is not on.
The headlights constantly burn out, at a rate of one bulb every two months. It would be a tragic safety event if they both went out at the same time. The design of the headlight system is poor in that you have to replace the light through the inner fender, making it nearly impossible to do without touching the bulb. Poor design and something needs to be done to address this issue.
Vehicle shuts off while driving check engine light and traction light turn on.. sometimes starts shaking really bad... also decelerates while driving.. incidents have occurred multiple times within the last 4 months
The service airbag light comes on often. The connection for the airbag equipment under both the driver and passenger seats has had to be re-wired 3 times. Tech stated that the connection has failed, and they spliced the wires together. This continues to happen when the seat is moved. Moving the wire harness causes the service light to go out.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving at 5 MPH and turning into a parking spot, the steering wheel inadvertently lost power steering assist functionality. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated she was able to forcefully steer the steering wheel with the assistance of her son and the vehicle was parked. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that they would be able to diagnose the vehicle in the next 3 weeks. The contact also stated that she noticed that the steering wheel would regain power steering functionality while the accelerator pedal was depressed and would lose power steering functionality after releasing the accelerator pedal. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.
From almost the time it left the factory, the onboard navigation system included in this vehicle has contained out of date and dangerous mapping. Drivers should be warned not to rely on the system until proper updates are provided by the manufacturer. This is particularly dangerous in areas where new construction has altered entrance and exit points on highways. Countless attempts to work with the manufacturer to obtain an update have fallen on deaf ears. On a recent trip the outdated mapping recommended a 150 mile detour where none was ultimately needed.
Car shutters when between 30-40 mph. Multiple other reports online with same vehicles claiming torque converter issues.
Power steering pump and high pressure hose gave out needing to be replaced. GM has manufactured a replacement pump that is superior to the original obviously noticing that it was not going to hold up.
Vehicle started bucking and shaking when taking off from traffic light. With excessive speed 50-60MPH that followed the bucking. Tried applying both feet by standing on the brakes. Car started to slow down, only to speed back up until, the vehicle could be shut off. Lights on dash were flashing. On such a heavy traveled, congested road, someone could have been killed. My car is scheduled to be looked at by Dealer.
VEHICLE BEGAN STUTTERING WHEN UPSHIFT OR DOWNSHIFT 2ND-3RD GEARS LOW SPEEDS. TOOK TO DEALER. AT FIRST COULD NOT REPLICATE BUT THEN FOUND GM SERVICE BULLETIN # 18-NA-358 (SEE ATTACHED). FIRST RELEASED IN NOVEMBER 2018 AND MOST RECENTLY UPDATED OCTOBER 2020. IT LISTS THIS EXACT PROBLEM AND A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. IT INCLUDES MANY GM VEHICLES INCLUDING MY 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NOT A RECALL THAT THIS WAS JUST A NORMAL BULLETIN TO HELP TECHNICIANS HANDLE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED PROBLEMS. I WOULD REQUEST SOMEONE TO REVIEW FOR A POSSIBLE RECALL. MY TRAVERSE ONLY HAS 94,000 MILES.
CHEVY TRAVERSE 2015 WITH 72700 MILES HAS PROBLEMS WITH POWER STEERING PUMP ITS MAKING NOISES, AND FEELS HARD WHEN MANEUVERING, I WAS CHECKING RECALLS BUT, MY CAR ITS OUT OF IT BECAUSE IT IS FROM 11/2014 AND RECALL IS FROM 12/ 2014 JUST A COUE OF DAYS, BESIDES THAT THE A/C WAS FIXED BECAUSE DIDN'T WORKED FOR A WHILE MOSTLY IN THE BACK SEATS, I PAYED ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS TO GET IT FIXED.
WAVEPLATE FAILURE CAUSING TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT PER DEALERSHIP. THEY STATE NO WARRANTY OR RECALLS. VEHICLE VIBRATES AND GEARS SLIP AT 15-25 MPH, ESPECIALLY ON LOW INCLINE. 113K MILES.
NO SOUND FROM VEHICLE. NO BLINKER, NO BACK UP, NO BLUETOOTH, NO RADIO. NO SOUNDS! THIS IS A DANGER TO MYSELF AND OTHERS! WHILE DRIVING, THE SOUND WENT OUT.
MY AC BLOWING OUT HEAT BEEN TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT TOP COMPANIES AND NO ONE KNOWS WHAT WRONG HAD AN AC COMPRESSOR REPLACED N ECT AND HEAT STILL BLOWING WAS CHARGED OVER 3000 AND STILL NO AIR.
VEHICLES POWER STEERING FAILS MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE VEHICLE. ALMOST BEEN IN THREE ACCIDENTS AND JUST BOUGHT THE CAR NOT EVEN A MONTH AGO, DUE TO THE POWER STEERING FAILING.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, the vehicle started jerking and shuddering significantly. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, and the dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Palmetto Chevrolet CO. (1122 4th Ave, Conway, SC 29526: (843) 492-0246), where it was diagnosed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. I HAVE TO MOVE THE WIRING UNDER PASSENGER SEAT FOR IT TO RESET. THIS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE PAST 18 MONTHS. I WILL NOT PAY FOR THIS REPAIR!!
AIR BAG WILL NOT ENGAGE WHEN PASSENGERS ARE IN THE SEAT.
WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, MY CAR'S OIL PRESSURE LOW LIGHT CAME ON. I GOT TO A PLACE WHERE I COULD PULL OFF THE ROAD AND PARK. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND HAD IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC. THE CAR WAS WELL MAINTAINED WITH ABOUT 65,000 MILES. THE ENGINE IS DONE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS UNKNOWN.

THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE STEERING SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REACHED OUT TO THE DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
BESIDES MY AC GOING OUT 3X SINCE I GOT IT NOW MY POWER STEERING ISN'T WORKING. TRIED TO GET IT FIXED BUT NOTHING IS WORKING. HEARD FROM THE OTHER DEALERSHIPS THAT THE SAME PROBLEM IS HAPPENING TO THIS MODEL AND MAKE AND HAVE TO GET 6-8 PUMPS TO GET IT FIXED. THIS IS RIDICULOUS TO HAVE SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH A BRAND NEW CAR. IT IS MY FIRST NEW CAR AND I'VE HAD A LOT OF USED CARS AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM
AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM MOTOR 'SHREDDED' FROM THE INSIDE. ENTIRE SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. STOPPED PRODUCING COLD AIR SUMMER 2020.
THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING RANDOMLY. IT HAPPENS WHEN I'M AT A VERY LOW SPEED AND TRYING TO TURN INTO A PARKING SPACE FOR EXAMPLE. ONCE YOU GIVE THE VEHICLE GAS IT SOMETIMES COMES BACK.
A WEEK AFTER THE PURCHASE, THE CAR STARTED TO STALL WHILE DRIVING AND THE AC WENT OUT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE AIR COMPRESSOR. ABOUT A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE VEHICLE STOPPED WOULDN'T START. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE TAKEN IT TO ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP AND THEY DEEMED IT AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED IT. I GOT THE VEHICLE BACK AND THE VERY NEXT DAY IT STARTED TO SMOKE WHILE DRIVING AND THE AC WENT OUT AGAIN.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT TURNS ON AND OFF FOR THE PAST 3 DAYS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TOO THE DEALER IN MY HOMETOWN AND THE TECH THERE SAID THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR THIS MODEL AND CHEVY KNOWS THAT ITS A EASY AND PROFITABLE ONE TO REPAIR. SOMEONE PLEASE LOOK IN TO THIS ITS NOT COOL TO HAVE SOMETHING LIKE AN AIRBAG SAY IT NEED SERVICE JUST TO HAVE THEM SAY THAT. THE FIX COST ME 145.59 AND IT TOOK THEM AROUND 8 OR 10 MINS TO REPAIR IT. INITIALLY I HAD AN ISSUE WITH SUDDEN HEAVY VIBRATION, PRIMARILY WHILE TURNING, WAS NOT RECORDING WITH A FAULT. PER MY SERVICE RECORDS ATTACHED THERE WERE SEVERAL TRIPS TRY A DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR THE ISSUE. THE MYSTERIOUS ISSUE REQUIRING GM ENGINEER SUPPORT OUTSIDE OF THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TECHNICIANS. SHORTLY AFTER MY FINAL SERVICE FOR THE VIBRATION ISSUE I REPORTED ABNORMAL SHIFTING DURING ACCELERATION AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE SHIFTING TRAINED TO THE DRIVER. THE ABNORMAL SHIFTING NEVER RESOLVED ITSELF. PERIODICALLY THE WARNING FOR SERVICE STABILITRACK AND TRACTION CONTROL PRESENTS AND THE TRAVERSE PERFORMS ROUGHLY. THIS OCCURS RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING..THE RELATED FAULT IS NOT RECORDED EITHER. RECENTLY I HAVE HAD THIS OCCUR AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE EVEN WITH THE ACCELERATOR PRESSED TO THE FLOOR. I WAS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD BUT FEAR THAT THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT HAD IT OCCURED ON A BUSIER STREET OR HIGHWAY. I REACHED OUT TO GENERAL MOTORS AND CMA COLONIAL CHEVY AND THEY WANT TO PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC. I JUST HAD A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED AT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND HE ADVISED THAT THE FAULT CODES WERE NOT RECORDED AND THAT MY TRANSMISSIONIS FAILING. HISTORY OF SERVICE WITH THIS VEHICLE LEADS ME TO KNOW THAT PAYING FOR A 2ND DIAGNOSTIC AT THE DEALERSHIP WILL PRESENT THE SAME RESULTS.
TRANSMISSION STARTED SHAKING VIGOROUSLY WHILE SLOWING DOWN THRU RESIDENTIAL AREA AT LOW SPEED GOING UP A SLIGHT INCLINE AT ABOUT 15 TO 25 MPH. ENGINE STARTED TO HEAT. NOT A SINGLE WARNING LIGHT TURNED ON AND NEVER DID PRIOR TO TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. VEHICLE ONLY HAS LESS THAN 86000 MILES, & APPARENTLY GM HAS NOT RECALLED THIS VEHICLE(S) FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AS IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP & THEY SAID THEY REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION SOLENOID AND TOOK IT FOR A 16 MILE TEST DRIVE. SUPPOSEDLY, IT WAS FIXED. BUT IT WASN'T. MULTIPLE REPORTS ON THE INTERNET SAY THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS THE PROBLEM & WILL FAIL BECAUSE OF LACK OF ADEQUATE COOLING FOR TRANSMISSION. TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING AT 42000 MILES FROM EITHER 1ST TO 2ND GEAR OR 2ND TO 3RD GEAR.
I PURCHASED A USED 2015 CHEVY TRAVERSE FROM A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP WITH 58435 MILES. WITHIN 200 MILES, THE REAR AC WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING TO AN AIR SHOW IN JUNE 2020. I LIVE IN THE SOUTHEAST WHERE TEMPS CAN GET VERY HOT AND HUMID QUICKLY, AND I HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN. SO NOW, MY CAR HAS BECOME A HAZARD TO MY CHILDREN AS I AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE THEM ANYWHERE WHEN THE SUN IS OUT. IT IS UNIMAGINABLE TO LEAVE A CHILD IN A HOT CAR, SO WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE WHEN CHEVROLET HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE AC ISSUES IN ITS VEHICLES FOR YEARS!!! I'M TIRED OF CAR MANUFACTURERS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR SHOTTY WORK! HOW, IN GOOD FAITH, CAN I DRIVE MY CHILDREN IN MY CAR, IN THE SOUTHEAST, WITH NO AC? WINDOWS DOWN DOESN'T WORK WITH SMALL CHILDREN AND WIND IS BLOWING IN THEIR FACE ON A HIGHWAY OR IN TRAFFIC AND THERE IS NO WIND. WHEN SPEAKING TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT GETTING IT FIXED, IT IS GOING TO COST $1400 AND THEY ARE AWARE THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES. HOWEVER, THE CONSMER NOW HAS TO PAY FOR A KNOWN FAULTY AC. CHEVROLET HAS ALREADY ISSUED AN UPDATED PART! THEY KNOW, AND YET THERE IS NO RECALL. HAVING A MANUFACTURER KNOW ABOUT A FAULTY AC IS A SAFETY PROBLEM, FOR CHILDREN. PERIOD. AND THEY NEED TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND OWN UP TO IT. JUST GOOGLE KNOWN AC PROBLEMS IN 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. YOU'LL SEE, IT'S NOT JUST THE STYLE AND MAKE OF MY VEHCILE, IT'S ACADIA, BUICK AND GMC VEHICLES.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 60 MILES PER HOUR. THE CAR JARRED FORWARD , MADE A POPPING SOUND AND LOST POWER AND THE ENGINE SPEED DROPPED. I GOT OFF THE INTERSTATE THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND WOULD NOT GO. THE STABILITY TRAC CAME ON THE DASH AS WELL AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS AND THE CAR STARTED AND I DROVE HOME. I LOOKED THIS UP ON YOUTUBE AND FOUND OUT THE CAR DOES NOT KEEP A MEMORY OF THE CODE THE CAR THROWS WHEN THIS HAPPEN. AFTER THE CAR SITS ALL NIGHT IT "RESETS" ITSELF AND THE ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND I WAS LUCKY IT DID NOT STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE . THIS IS A HUGE SAFE ISSUE I HAUL MY CHILD AND GRANDDAUGHTER IN THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND CHEVY KNOWS ABOUT IT. GET IT FIXED, DO A RECALL. *TR
I RECENTLY GOT THIS CAR FROM A LICENSED DEALERSHIP AND I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES. I THE CAR HAS BROKEN DOWN TWICE AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES. 2 OF WHICH WERE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING YOU EITHER FEEL A CONSTANT PULL THEN ITS ALMOST LIKE IT RELEASES AND THEN IT SPEEDS UP. THEN I HAVE A HARD TIME SLOWING IT DOWN. WHEN THE CAR BROKE DOWN THE TEMP GAUGE DROPPED ALL THE WAY DOWN, AC STOPPED WORKING AND WHEN I PULLED OVER AND STOPPED THE CAR IT WOULD START AGAIN. AFTER 30 MIN IT STARTED BUT IMMEDIATELY REV UP IN RPMS TO MAX AND WOULDN'T STOP TILL I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. THEY CAR HAS BEEN IN AS I WAS TOLD IT WAS FIXED BUT IT STILL REVS UP RPMS HARD AND LONG, WHEN IT SHIFTS IT JUMPS, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE FEELS AS IF ITS LOOSING POWER ,THE BATTER LEVELS CONSTANTLY FLUCTUATE AND THE STEERING WHEEL FEELS LIKE ITS TRYING TO JUMP OUT OF MY HANDS. JOLTS ME LIKE I'VE HIT A POT HOLE BUT THERE IS NO POT HOLE. ELECTRICAL ISSUES AS FAR AS JUST BARLEY PUTTING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND THE LIGHTS DO SOME STUFF AND ALL THE DOORS LOCK, AND ITS SET TO LOCK WHEN UP TO SPEED. SOMETIMES WHEN STARTING THE CAR IT WILL HAVE A WEEK REV AND IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WOULD WHEN YOU GET A JUMP AND YOUR TRYING TO PUMP THE JUICES. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS FIXED BUT IT STILL FEELING LIKE ITS PULLING AND THEN SPEEDS UP. RPMS STILL JUMP UP HARD AND LONG. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND EVERYONE KEEPS TELLING ME ITS FIXED BUT IT IS NOT. THIS VEHICLE WAS MENTIONED TO BE A FAMILY CAR BUT I CANT TRUST ME OR MY FAMILY IS SAFE. IT WAS MADE 07/14 BUT HAS A 2015 VIN NUMBER. THIS CAR SHOULD OF BEEN PUT OUT OF SERVICE AND NEVER SOLD TO ANYONE. SINCE THE TRAVERS HAD SO MANY RECALLS IN 2014 WHICH BY THE WAY MATCH PERFECTLY AND MORE TO WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS CAR.
MY AIRBAG SERVICE REQUIRED LIGHT CAME ON IN JULY OF 2019. I TOOK IT TO GOSH CHEVY AND IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THE SAME PROBLEM OF THE AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT REOCCURRED IN APRIL OF 2020. I TOOK IT BACK TO GOSH CHEVY AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME $150 TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM AND WHAT EVER THE COSTS INVOLVED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM WOULD BE ON ME. AS A SAFETY ITEM AS IMPORTANT AS AN AIRBAG I WOULD THINK CHECKING THEIR ORIGINAL REPAIR WOULD BE COVERED BY THEM.

PURCHASED VEHICLE ON FEBRUARY 1ST AND WITHIN WEEK OF OWNERSHIP, VEHICLE WAS MAKING SPARKING/CLICKING SOUND UNDER HOOD. GM DEALER FOUND "THE HORMONIC BALANCER CREATING STATIC ELECTRICITY AND ARCHING CAUSING SOUND." CLAIMS HE NEVER SEEN OR EXPERIENCE THIS IN 35 YEARS OF DOING SERVICE. DEALER CHARGED $300 IN LABOR ALONE TO REPLACE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS UNWILLING TO PAY TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

SHE STATED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSORS FAILED TO RECOGNIZE WHEN AN OCCUPANT WAS SEATED IN EITHER SEAT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO URKA AUTO CENTER, INC. (3736 US-10, LUDINGTON, MI 49431) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A DEFECTIVE PASSENGER AIR BAG MODULE. THE CONTACT WAS THEN PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ON 04/19/2021.
CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, AND I ACCELERATED THE CAR UP AN ENTRANCE RAMP ON TO A 65 MPH HIGHWAY (INTERSTATE 40, DURHAM, NC) TO MERGE INTO MODERATE TRAFFIC HEADING WEST. THE CAR THEN BEGAN ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN DESPITE TAKING MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL, AND PROBABLY REACHED 70 MPH. I PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDAL, WHICH SLOWED THE CAR IN A SHUDDERING MANNER, BUT DID NOT DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL, WHICH CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE. BECAUSE OF THE DANGER OF HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF US, I BRAKED AGAIN, WITH A SIMILAR RESULT. TURNING OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL BY PUSHING THE BUTTON ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY, SO I BRAKED AGAIN AND HELD THEM HARD, WHICH SLOWED THE VEHICLE. ON THIS THIRD TRY, THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED, AND I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT OFF. IT'S NOT BEEN USED SINCE, SO ITS STATUS IS UNKNOWN. NO ACCIDENT AROSE FROM THIS INCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT AT 5-10 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY ACCELERATED CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A BUILDING. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT FAILED TO ENGAGED PROPERLY. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS CONTACTED AND TOOK VITALS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY NATIONWIDE TO INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE COSMETIC REPAIRS WERE BEING PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE WARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DAMAGE WAS TO THE BUILDING AND FRONT BUMPER. NO DEALER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,700.
12/23/19 WHILE DRIVING MY CAR IT BEGAN MAKING SLIGHT WHINE NOISES WHICH INCREASED DURING TURNING, TIRES SEEMED A BIT LOOSE WITH DRIVING, THEN WHEN PARKING IT WAS AS IF NO POWER STEERING AT ALL- CHECKED PS FLUID TINY BIT LOW, ADDED SMALL AMOUNT. 12/24/19 SAME PROBLEM STILL OCCURRING ONLY EXTREMELY MORE DIFFICULT TO TURN, 12/26/19 HAD CAR CHECKED BY MECHANIC OUR POWER STEERING PUMP HAS GONE OUT AT 81K MILES AND IN ALL PROBABILITY OUR RACK AND PINION, THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR TRAVERSES, THERE HAS BEEN A SPECIAL SERVICE COVERAGE EXTENSION ( HTTPS://STATIC.NHTSA.GOV/ODI/TSBS/2014/SB-10056459-3388.PDF) THRU 100K MIKES FOR TRAVERSES 2009-2011, THOUGH WHEN I SPOKE TO REPRESENTATIVE SHE SAID 2007 - 2011 YEARS, AND THE PARTS THAT NEED REPLACING ARE THE EXACT SAME PART NUMBERS THRU 2015 TRAVERSES. THE 'REASON' I WAS GIVEN IS BECAUSE 'IT IS FOR VEHICLES PRODUCED IN 'SPECIFIC- UNDISCLOSABLE LOCATIONS' WHICH ARE IN 'SPECIFIC YEARS AND VIN NUMBERS' AND YET THE PART IS THE EXACT SAME PART THAT IS BEING UTILIZED IN THE ENTIRE SPAN OF AT LEAST THE YEARS '2009-2015'. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AS WELL SINCE IT CAUSES PROBLEMS WITH YOUR STEERING AS WELL AS TIRE FUNCTIONALITY. WHY ARE THE YEARS PAST 2011 BEING DISMISSED? I WAS INFORMED BY BOTH OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THE ONLINE CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR GM THAT OUR VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED EVENT. HOW CAN THIS SPECIAL COVERAGE BE EXTENDED TO COVER ADDITIONAL YEARS SINCE ALL OF THE PARTS REQUIRED TO BE REPLACED ARE EXACT ONES UTILIZED IN EACH YEAR? THANK YOU.
AIRBAG LIGHT ON AND OFF, CONNECTIONS ALL FEEL TIGHT UNDER PASSENGER SEAT BUT LIGHT WARNING CAME ON 3 TIMES IN 2 DAYS.
POWER STEERING PUMP AND RACK AND PINION NEED TO BE REPLACED. $1500. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AS MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS COMPLAINT.
SINCE AUGUST( AROUND 08/25/19), I'VE BEEN HAVING A SERVICE AIR BAG NOTIFCATION WHICH I'VE TOOK TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP SERVICES. I WAS TOLD THERE WERE A SENOR TO BE REPLACED AND PAYED FOR THE REPLACEMENT. SEPTEMBER ( AROUND 09/18/2019), THE SERVICE AIR BAG CAME ON AGAIN LESS THAN A MONTH WITH THE SAME NOTIFICATION. I WAS TOLD THEN THERE WAS A SECOND SENOR THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HERE I AM NOW IN NOVEMBER (11/20/19) WITH THE SERVICE AIR BAG NOTIFCATION ON MY DASH BOARD AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME. I'M IN THE PROCESS OF CONTACTING CHEVROLET ONCE MORE ABOUT THIS. I RESERACH THE RECALL BUT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE. I'M UNSURE IF ANYONE ELSE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. THE LIGHT EITHER POP UP AT THE START OF TURNING ON THE VEHICLE OR DURING THE DRIVE. NORMALLY ON THE FIRST DAY OF NOTIFICATION IT WILL GO OFF AFTER SECOND CRANK BUT WITHIN 3 DAYS WILL RETURN AND WILL NOT TURN OFF. THIS PART IS NOT A CHEAP PART PLUS ADDING DEALERSHIP FEES.
WE HAVE 2 ISSUES. 1ST WAS IN JULY 2019, OUR POWER STEERING PUMP WENT OUT WITH ON 60,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND WE WERE TOLD THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE TRAVERSES. 2ND CONCERN IS IN SEPTEMBER 2019 OUR VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION CAPABILITIES ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE DISPLAY SAID HAVE STABILITY CONTROL SERVICED. WE HAD TROUBLE MAKING IT HOME AND AFTER I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF FOR A FEW HOURS IT THEN RAN FINE. IT WAS LIKE A COMPUTER GLITCH ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH OCCURRED FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND WAS VERY UNSAFE. WE WERE DRIVING STRAIGHT 50 MPH ON A CLEAR NICE AFTERNOON AND SLOWED TO 25 WHEN IT HAPPENED AND IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE PROPERLY.
WHILE DRIVING, MY REVERSE CAMERA CAME ON, SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL TURNED OFF, ALERTS FOR PARKING ASSIST OFF, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITRAX. LOSS ENGINE POWER AND WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE OVER 10MPH WHILE FLOORING THE GAS. THIS HAPPENED ON A LOW TRAFFIC ROAD THANKFULLY OR ONE OF MY CHILDREN COULD HAVE DIED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE ALERTS BEGAN WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILL, THE ENGINE LOSS WAS NOTED WHEN I TURNED. APPARENTLY THERE ARE PAGES AND PAGES OF FORUMS REGARDING THIS EXACT ISSUE WITH THE TRAVERSE. HOW IS THERE NOT A RECALL? HOW MANY PEOPLE MUST DIE IN ACCIDENTS CAUSED BY ENGINE POWER LOSS BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING?!
I NOTICED THERE WAS A RECALL ON SIMILAR YEAR MAKES/MODELS IN REGARDS TO BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURES. MY 2015 CHEVY TRAVERSE FREQUENTLY HAS BRAKING ISSUES RELATED TO THE RECALL. IT OFTEN ALWAYS HAS NOISE FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN DEPRESSED THAT SOUNDS LIKE AIR BEING EXPELLED FROM THE LINE. THIS HAPPENS AT MULTIPLE RATES OF SPEEDS IN MULTIPLE DRIVING CONDITIONS; INCLUDING SLOW CITY DRIVING, HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS, IN RAIN AND IN SNOW AS WELL AS DRY DAYS. THIS HAS OCCURRED FROM THE DAY I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN AUGUST 2016. IS THE 2015 CHEVY TRAVERSE BEING INVESTIGATED AS WELL OR WILL IT BE? THANK YOU!
THE TRANSMISSION OR SOMETHING IN THE CAR IS JOKING AS YOU DRIVE
WHILE DRIVING, THE DASH OF THE TRAVERSE WILL FLICKER ON AND OFF. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE HEADUNIT WILL RESTART AND FLASH A COUPLE TIMES BEFORE STAYING ON. THE BACK UP CAMERA WILL ALSO TURN ON RANDOMLY, WHILE IN MOTION. WHEN THE DASH FLICKERS TO OFF, I AM NOT ABLE TO USE MY BLINKER OR SEE MY MILEAGE.
