I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON SUNDAY JUNE 8, 2014. MY SON AND I WERE CROSSING AT AN INTERSECTION AFTER STOPPING AT A FLASHING RED LIGHT HALF WAY THROUGH THE INTERSECTION WE WERE HIT BY AN SUV MOVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THE VEHICLE STRUCK US IN THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AT FULL SPEED KNOCKING US ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE INTERSECTION AND OVER THE CURB BEFORE WE CAME TO A STOP AT NO POINT DURING THE CRASH DID THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOY. MY SON WAS DRIVING AND I WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT BOTH OF US ENDED UP IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM. HIM FOR HIS UPPER BACK AND ME FOR MY LOWER BACK AND MY LEG WHERE THE DOOR WAS BENT IN AND SLAMMED INTO MY LEG. *TR
WE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL FOR THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH. UPON RECEIPT OF THIS RECALL, WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP. I DO NOT BELIEVE IT HAS BEEN ATTENDED TO IN A TIMELY MANNER. CHUNKING AND SNAPPING PROBLEM IN THE STEERING GEAR BOX OR TIE ROD ENDS. I'VE HAD IT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER ON AUG. 16TH. 2015 AND THEY COULDN'T FINE IT. BUT WHEN I WENT ON THE WEB THERE I FOUND HUNDREDS ON COMPLAINTS. I HAD A LIVE CHAT WITH THE NHTSA.GOV AND THIS PROBLEM WAS EVEN ON THE 2011 CHRYSLER 200.
MY SEAT BELT WAS ON AND PROPERLY FASTENED, BUT THE SEAT BELT LIGHT CAME ON AND STARTED LOUDLY "DINGING". THE SEAT BELT LIGHT WILL NO LONGER GO OFF AND RANDOMLY DINGS WHICH IS NOT ONLY ANNOYING, BUT CAN BE DANGEROUS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER SHIFTING INTO THE PARK OR DRIVE POSITION, THERE WAS A ROUGH SHIFT WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE BRAKES WAS DEPRESSED DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND EMITTING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN REVERSING, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE CONTINUOUSLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PADS, THE BRAKE FLUID, AND THE BRAKE DRUMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
THIS CAR HAS A BAD BLIND SPOTS IN IT, WHEN YOUR CHANGING LANES YOU HAVE BETTER MAKE SURE THAT YOU LOOK ALL THE WAY AROUND OVER YOUR LEFT SHOULDER BEFORE CHANGING LANES OR YOU WILL HIT THE CAR THAT'S BESIDE YOU, I COULD NOT SEE THE CAR IN THE NEXT LANE AND I PUT MY TURN SIGNALS ON AND GOT HALF WAY OVER AND THEIR WAS A CAR IN THE LANE NEXT TO ME AND THE CAR HIT ME ON THE FRONT PANEL AND THE DOOR, THEY CHARGE ME WITH IMPROPER LANE CHANGE AND I COULDN'T SEE THIS CAR IN MY MIRROR, WHEN YOU BACK UP IN THIS CAR YOU HAD BETTER BE CAREFUL CANNOT SEE WELL OUT OF THE CAR TO BACK UP, USING YOUR MIRRORS YOU STILL CANNOT SEE EVERYTHING.MAYBE THE MIRRORS SHOULD BE ONE SIZE BIGGER, SO YOU CAN SEE MORE OF THE ROAD BESIDE YOU. THIS COST ME 2POINTS ON MY LICENSE, HADN'T HAD A TICKET IN 30 YEARS, COST ME 155.00 AND 1,100.00 IN DAMAGE TO THE CAR. THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOK INTO, VERY POOR DESIGN ON THIS . I UNDERSTAND THEIR ARE RECALLS ON THIS CAR, BUT I HAVEN'T GOTTON ANYTHING FROM THE DEALER YET AND A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE, IT WILL SHUT DOWN WHEN DRIVING, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE CAR; *TR
WITHIN THE LAST TWO MONTHS MY PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT HAS JAMMED UP TWICE. WHEN IT OCCURRED I WAS NOT IN MY VEHICLE NOR WAS I DRIVING. I FREQUENTLY HAVE PASSENGER SEAT RIDERS AND THIS PROBLEM INDEED IS HAZARDOUS. I SPOKE WITH A REPRESENTATIVE AT LANDERS DODGE AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TOO DO TOO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. *TR
I LEFT WORK AND PULLED OF THE PARKING LOT. I COULD NOT GET ABOVE 40 MPH. I FELT LIKE I WAS STUCK IN 1ST GEAR. WENT STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP. EXPLAINED MY PROBLEM. MADE AN APPOINTMENT. WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE, THE CAR WAS FINE. I CALLED THEM AND THEY SAID I MIGHT NEED AN UPDATE FOR THE HARD DRIVE. I WENT AND HAD THAT DONE. IT WAS FINE FOR 3 WEEKS. AND THEN THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK. THEN TURNED THE CAR OFF. THEN STARTED THE CAR AND THEN IT WAS FINE. *TR

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED WHIPLASH, NECK PAINS, NUMBNESS ON THE LEFT SIDE, AND PINCHED NERVES THAT REQUIRED FURTHER MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND WAS NOT INSPECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V282000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. FROM ALMOST THE BEGINNING OF OWNING THIS CAR IT HAS MADE A NOISE IN THE LEFT FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE. THE STEERING WHEEL FEELS LOSE, LIKE IT COULD COME APART. I HAD BRAKE ISSUES ALSO. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2013 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOW BEAMS HEADLIGHT WOULD ONLY ILLUMINATE 30 TO 40 FEET, CAUSING HIS VISIBILITY TO BE DIMINISHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS WORKING UP TO STANDARDS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. ON 10/25/2013, WHILE BACKING THE VEHICLE FROM THE PARKING SPACE, THE ENGINE SURGED IN REVERSE AND IT WAS NECESSARY TO PUSH ON THE BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR FROM SURGING IN REVERSE, THIS IS WITHOUT ACCELERATION. STOPPED THE CAR, PLACED IN PARK AND TURNED CAR OFF. TURNED CAR BACK ON AND THE SURGING IN REVERSE STOPPED. SUBSEQUENTLY, ON THE WAY HOME I STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT, AND THE CAR SURGED AGAIN, AND I HAD TO PRESS THE BRAKE ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM GOING FORWARD. PULLED OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN THE STOP LIGHT TURNED GREEN, TURNED THE CAR OFF AGAIN, AND THE PROBLEM STOPPED AGAIN. TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 10/28/2013 TO HAVE THE PROBLEM STUDIED. THE SERVICE MAINTENANCE HAD A TSB 18-029-13 THAT WE WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF INVOLVING POWER TRAIN ISSUES WITH THE 2013 CHRYSLER 200. DEALERSHIP STATED THEY UPDATED PCM TRANS FLASH AND THE PROBLEM SHOULD NOW BE RESOLVED. WILL WAIT AND SEE IF THIS IS THE CASE. THE VEHICLE HAS 5,157 MILES AND WAS PURCHASED 07/22/2013. *TR
WHEN I START THE CAR ON A "COLD" START - IT PULSES AND ACTS AS IF IT IS GOING TO DIE OUT. I HAVE TO PUSH THE GAS FOR IT TO CATCH AND RUN NORMAL. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT I HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT BECAUSE IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM AS OF RIGHT NOW. NO TIMEFRAME FOR THE SOLUTION!! THIS IS NOT FAIR. I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW WITH 69 MILES ON IT. DROVE IT HOME WHICH IS ABOUT 40 MILES HOME AND THE NEXT MORNING IT STARTS THIS JUNK. DEALER SAID IT WAS "NORMAL" AND MOST NEW CARS DO THIS. IT ALSO HAD A RUBBER BURN SMELL. THAT TOO WAS SAID TO BE "NORMAL". *TR

I BOUGHT THIS CAR SEPTEMBER 14 2013. WITH IN A WEEK IT WAS IN THE SHOP DUE TO ALIGNMENT ISSUES AND OTHER COSMETIC ISSUES, FIXED COSMETIC ISSUES AND DID AN ALIGNMENT ON THE CAR WITH IN 4 DAYS THE ALIGNMENT WENT OUT AGAIN WAS BACK IN THE SHOP AGAIN AND UNDERWENT ANOTHER ALIGNMENT HAD THE CAR BACK FOR ABOUT 4 DAYS AGAIN ALIGNMENT WAS OFF AGAIN AND DURING A DRIVE TO MICHIGAN THE FLOOR GOT HOT. THE NEXT DAY THE FLOOR GOT HOT AGAIN AND THE CAR SHUT OFF. I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE SHOP AGAIN. AFTER ANOTHER 5 DAYS THE ALIGNMENT WAS OUT AGAIN. THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE A SHUTTER SYSTEM FOR NORMAL AND BRIGHT HEADLIGHT CONTROL THAT IS SO BAD I FELT THE NEED TO PULL OFF OF THE ROAD TO CONSIDER CONTINUING MY TRAVEL. WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SET TO DIM IT IS LIKE DRIVING IN A DARK TUNNEL WITH VISIBILITY OF ONLY THE IMMEDIATE 20 FEET IN FRONT OF THE CAR WITH NO VISIBILITY AT ALL OF ANYTHING TO THE SIDE. NOTHING CAN BE SEEN ABOVE ABOUT 5 FEET OF THE ROAD. WHEN ONE ENCOUNTERS A TURN IN THE ROAD THE DRIVER IS UNABLE TO SEE BEYOND THE CURVE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED. THE VEHICLE ALSO STALLED WHILE IDLING AND SEVERAL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A PIECE OF PAPER ON THE DASHBOARD WAS THE REASON FOR THE FAILURE AND WAS INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S MANY SENSORS. THE FAILURES STILL PERSISTED. VEHICLE WOULD NOT ALLOW CRUISE CONTROL TO BE SET. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, BUT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO MANUALLY OPERATE GAS PEDAL AND BRAKING FUNCTION. IT TOOK SEVERAL BRAKING ATTEMPTS TO DISENGAGE CRUISE CONTROL. PULLED OVER AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF, RESTARTED AND REENTERED HIGHWAY THEN VEHICLE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SEEM TO SHIFT INTO GEARS AND "ROARED" ALLOWING TACHOMETER TO REACH INTO HIGH 5,500+ RANGE. PULLED OVER AGAIN, SHUT VEHICLE OFF. RESTARTED VEHICLE, REENTERED HIGHWAY AND IT OPERATED SUFFICIENTLY TO GET TO DEALER. AFTER DEALER DID DIAGNOSTIC, THEY DISCOVERED SPEED CONTROL SWITCH WAS FAULTY AND REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. CAR NOW OPERATES PROPERLY SINCE SWITCH REPLACEMENT AND HAVE HAD NO FURTHER PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT DRIVE PROPERLY. THE RPMS RUN HIGH AND MANY TIMES DOES NOT SHIFT OUT OF 5 GEAR WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER HAVE BEEN TOLD "THAT IS HOW THIS CAR DRIVES", "IT IS OK TO RED LINE YOUR CAR". I STARTED THE 2013 CHRYSLER 200 AND SHIFTED THE TRANSMISSION INTO "DRIVE". WITH MY FOOT STILL ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, I CHECKED THE MILEAGE ON OUR NEW CAR AND IT READ 139 MILES. I COULD FEEL THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGE THEN I FELT WHAT SEEMED TO BE A SECOND ENGAGEMENT BEFORE I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. AS SOON AS I BEGAN DRIVING I NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SHIFTING OUT OF FIRST (1ST) GEAR. I STOPPED THE CAR AND SHIFTED THROUGH PARK, NEUTRAL AND MANUAL IN AN ATTEMPT TO FREE UP THE TRANSMISSION BUT WHEN I STARTED DRIVING AGAIN IT STILL WOULD NOT TRANSITION OUT OF FIRST (1ST) GEAR EVEN WHEN PUT IN THE MANUAL SHIFT MODE. WELL ON NEXT SERVICE IT WAS THE SAME OLD THING NOTHING WRONG PUT AIR IN TIRES THIS JUST KEEPS GOING ON. WELL WHEN IT WAS TIME TO ROTATE TIRES THEN THE PROBLEM GOT A LITTLE WORSE.
