The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving, the horn was continuously making an abnormal blaring sound. The air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the TIPM needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under a recall and referred her to the NHTSA Hotline. The contact stated that the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V668000 (Seat Belt, Air Bags). The failure mileage was approximately 200,000. The VIN was not available.
Everything was fine I get my oil changed regularly, I get fluid top offs, I keep it well maintained. The other day while driving on the freeway my car slowly started to die out, the rpm was hitting at 4-5 but my speed was only 30 mph. This is my only vehicle I'm my mother's soul provider, taking her to after chemo check ups, to her liver doctor appointments. I was told this car has this problem alot. I was hoping something could be done to help me out..
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked and stalled. The vehicle failed to restart. The oil warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic for multiple undisclosed failures; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then inspected by another independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the failure was related to the NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V552000 (Engine). The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was included in an unrelated recall. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
After starting the vehicle and going from reverse to drive the vehicle stalls out. After the initial stall and traveling a few miles, while stopping at a traffic signal the vehicle stalls out again and more times than not can accelerate at a speed higher than prompted. This is a frequent occurrence and other owners of the same make model and year that I have spoken with have the same issue.
The car was losing power while being driven. It was towed to the dealership. Mechanic stated the engine was leaking oil and something is loose inside the engine. My only option would be to replace the engine.
The vehicle shuts off while driving at any given time. It started about 4 months ago while I was on the freeway in the fast lane. No warning lights or sounds came on. I costed over to the left shoulder because it was rush hour. When I tried to restart it, it sounded like it was stalling and I couldn't jump it either. It was like the engine got hot even though the gauge didn't say it was. After I let it set for about 30 minutes it started right back up. I thought it was a one time thing, but it's been doing it a lot more and I've had to sit and wait for longer periods of time. I searched online and found the symptoms of what it's doing and it appears there was a recall and investigation about the issue. If I remember correctly there was over 13,000 vehicles recalled for the powertrain module or something like that but when I searched my vehicle it says no recall.
While driving the car is in process.. the engine will suddenly stop (stall). I loose all power to the car and is unable to stop the car or control the speed or any other functions of the car. The only way to stop the car immediately is to manually use the emergency breaks. My 3.6 liter engine is having the same engine defect as the 2.4 2000 Chrysler 200 engine N52... causing it to malfunction. Also sometimes when trying to start the car while turning the key in the ignition the engine begin to flood on its on and get completely stuck in that position..and become unable to process to start and run. For about a year and a half I have been back and forth to the auto mechanic paying so much money trying to figure out what is going on with my car. Unable to fix of com up with a solution. My car has been more undrivable,in the shop and and unsafe then it has been driven. The last time I was driving my car with my [XXX] [XXX] child in the car the engine power failed and I was unable to stop .. we where coming on a 4 way traffic light going at full speed.. my light had turned red. Nothing I would do would stop or slow the car down. I'm so happy my child knows to pull the emergency breaks... He saved our life. This has happened multiple times B4 this last time but never to this extent. It seems the longer this issue is going the worst it's becoming. I began doing research on Chrysler 200 to see if anyone one else may have been having this issue to hopefully find a solution. because this is my only car and I have put everything I have into this to get this car and to fix this car.. when I looked in to recalls I found that the 2.4 liter engine for the 2000 Chrysler 200 was having the same engine defect as my 2013 Chrysler 200 3.6 liter engine.. . So I would like to make a vehicle complaint about my car's engine defect causing the engine to malfunction which is a safety issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact stated that after he parked the vehicle, there was smoke coming from underneath the hood. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact made the dealer aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. My airbags not working and the light is on
I’ve had to replace the alternator twice in 7 months. The car has turned off both of these instances while I was driving. I’ve spent a lot of money on parts, labor, and towing. When I am parked, the RPM goes up and down, it sounds like I am accelerating but I am not. When I come to a stop, the RPM jolts up. When I am at a complete stop, and ready to drive, the car jolts forward as if it were pushed.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that water was leaking inside the vehicle and the water leak originated from underneath the glove compartment on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.
As I was driving down a slight slope while braking to try to come to a stop, the car died / shut off. Within the few seconds that I was trying to slow to a stop, the brakes stopped working, various lights turned on the Dash (I can't remember which), and then the car shut off entirely. If there was a car or something in front of me, I would not have been able to stop because the brakes weren't working. This problem has been reported numerous times through various online forums/sites. There was no warning, message, or other symptom to indicate this would happen. This car also has stalling issues that has been complained of by other Chrysler 200 owners as well. Both stalling and shutting off poses a serious concern to all drivers.
Driving down the street and the car just stalls out of nowhere with no warning and then after a while will restart mechanic has no idea what could be wrong
My son was driving his car which is a 2013 Chrysler 200 when the engine suddenly began to knock loudly and then the car shut off in traffic. There were no breaks or steering which nearly resulted in my son having an accident. He was able to get the car pulled to the side. Then we had the car towed to the shop. The mechanics said the dipstick showed no and that the knock was the result of an engine failure due to no oil in the oil pan. There was excessive debris in the small amount of oil that remained in the oil pan. The mechanic said that the debris came from bearings that have worn away. The engine is not repairable. It was noted that there was a recall on 2013 Chrysler 200 vehicles for this very same problem. However the recall for some reason excluded this specific car. Apparently the recall did not go far enough to cover all the cars affected.
Cold air from Passenger side only, hot air from Driver side this issue started about 1 year ago tried different technicians they all had different opinions, but none had seen this issue before.
Car stalled while going down highway. Engine light not on, has gas, no over heating. 3rd time this has happened. Wait a couple hours and it starts with no problem. I was told by mechanic it was probably just bad gas and not to worry. Cause no codes came up. Then today i was almost hit.
My air bag light is on and I needs checked
The passenger side headrest airbag deployed while driving. No accident and was not hit by anything.
was driving home with my kids when all of sudden the passenger front seat headrest popped
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH, the driver’s and passenger’s seat headrests were deployed without warning. The contact called the dealer and was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V640000 (Seats, Air Bags) which he linked to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH and slowing down, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled without warning. The contact pulled over and waited until the vehicle cooled down. The vehicle was restarted and operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the mechanic did not find any failure with the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while stopped at a traffic light. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The failure mileage was 120,000.
My car's check engine light came on. I took the car to my personal mechanic because it is out of warranty. My mechanic told me that I had a service bulletin issued for the problem I am having, which is cylinder #4 misfire. The service bulletin is 09-002-14 Rev B. It extends the warranty to 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. I was told by the dealer and Chrysler Customer Care that my vehicle was not part of this service bulletin, even though I am experiencing the same issue as the other Chrysler 200s that are. I believe my car should be covered under this bulletin especially since Chrylser knew this problem existed since 2014, right after I bought my vehicle, 7/2013. I should have been informed at the time. The service bulletin does not exclude any vehicle. It says Models, not specific models. This repair will cost me over $3,000 and I believe Chrysler should uphold the service bulletin and fix my car. I talked to one customer service representative and that person didn't understand why my car wasn't covered but never called me back like she said she would. I called again and was told my car was not part of this service bulletin. All Chrysler 200s should be part of this service bulletin if they experience the same issue as others.
Got my 2013 Chrysler 200 limited in March 2022 , car would stall and lose power about a couple times a week , took to garage they said it was the psm either had to be replaced or reset , but soon after that my heat stopped working on passanger side blew cold and driver side blew earm , now back on to the stalling , my fiance noticed when checking things under hood that the battery was grounded on top but he said from where it's grounded they should have never painted it , but cleared paint off area and corrosion off the battery terminals and areas and My car has not stalled out again
Active safety restraint head rests have exploded. It is not possible to sit in seat correctly as they push head forward into airbag now. Dealer says it is not possible to obtain repair parts as they are on back order indefinitely. Vehicle Mileage 19,000
My first complaint is that my car stalls as I am actively driving. Whether I am using cruise control or physically pressing the gas pedal, the car just stalls out and I lose control of all steering function & have to try to get to the shoulder before I get slammed into on the highway. This happens at least twice weekly, all hours of the day or night, regardless of the weather or how much gas is in the tank, and I almost always have my children with me.There are not one, but TWO recalls for this specific issue which I just found today after months of Internet searching because I never received any notices. The recalls are Chrysler campaign N52 and NHTSA campaign 13v043000 - so how is it that those recalls don't apply to MY particular 2013 Chrysler 200? My second complaint is about the horn, and I'm not the only person who has dealt with this one either, there are several online forums... When I manually press the horn on the steering column, nothing happens. No sound, no beeps, no honks, nada. If I need to alert someone of my presence, I can't.(This actually caused me to get hit by another driver who was on her phone last December, and I saw her coming at me but I couldn't alert her). Now just because I can't manually make the horn go beep, doesn't mean it does not work. Oh it works. There's a horn in there some where that just randomly honks, every day, sometimes I'm driving, sometimes I'm in my house. The honks can be little blips or short beeps, but most of the time, it's just one very, very long continuous honk. When I'm driving and this happens people think I'm having an emergency and all start to move over to the far right lane, which is just dangerous. If I cause a wreck over distracting other drivers it wouldn't be good. I did have it looked at, the mechanic plugged in the diagnostic computer & said there was no error code and he couldn't see anything immediately that would cause the issue, so it was most likely electric and he'd need a code to know more.
Multiple times the engine power steering and brake assistance will go out without warning. This has happened at intersections and has also happened on an extremely busy highway where I was nearly hit multiple times. When this happens the car will not start up immediately. After waiting approximately 30 minutes the car will finally restart again. I have taken it to the dealership and they cannot replicate the issue nor can they provide a solution.
The contact's son owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while her son was driving 75 MPH, the vehicle stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart after several attempts though the vehicle had a quarter tank of a gasoline left in the tank. The contact contacted a tow truck driver who added gasoline and the tank was half full. The contact's son was able to drive to his residence; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact's son added gasoline in the vehicle and was able to continue driving. The contact stated that the failure occurred whenever the vehicle had a quarter tank of fuel remaining. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V043000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) which she associated with the failure. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that she needed to pay diagnostic and repair fee. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000. The manufacturer stated there was nothing they could do and NHTSA's responsibility to include their vin in the recall.
Engine stops with no warning, making the power steering & brakes stop working. Mopar repair center could not duplicate the problem. When I picked it up, it happened in their parking lot while in my car waiting for it to warm up.
CV axle are wore out I couldn't drive turning an shocks wore out faster Please help
Everyone single one of these issues as stated on the websites (carcomplaints.com and chryslerproblems.com) and in other's complaints has happened since the day after I bought is from a so-called dealership (road side flip shop) in January 2022. As stated "There are no warning lights, sounds, or visual cues to indicate any sort of problem." The engine just turns off and the gas pedal hits the floor not allowing acceleration. "In addition to the engine stalling, the power steering and brake assist shuts down." "It doesn’t trigger any error codes for an OBD-II reader, meaning technicians won’t be able to diagnose the problem Once the car is disabled, there are varying reports about being able to restart the engine. Some say the car will restart right away like nothing ever happened, while others say they've been left on the side of the road waiting for their ignition to respond." This has happened on a nearly weekly basis since purchasing, sometimes multiple times in the week. Absolutely NO warning signs, the engine just shuts off. It has randomly died at stop signs, red lights, in intersections and on the highway in high speed traffic. Once while my elder mother was driving to pick me up from the airport and other times while my significant other was in the car driving he's 5 yr old daughter home from school, the latest one this previous evening and he reported to me that 2 cars had to quickly veering around them at the last second. It was absolutely terrifying for him with his child in the car. After multiple visits to mechanics for the issue 2 diagnostic tests with no codes and no code history, and a fuel pump replacement that did nothing and numerous roadside calls .One mechanic was kind enough to state the vehicle has recalls for stalling issues and gave screen shots from his end. I called the number on the recall notices for Chrysler directly and was rudely informed that there were not "active" recalls on the car and that the previous ones, N52 and N02 are void
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to upshift out of the first gear. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was awaiting diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.
Cadillac converter has been running hot Engine mount leaking oil. Air bag safety recall read online. Wheel bearing.
Drivers side headrest deployed while driving the car. No collisions just regular driving. Dealership says I have to pay to have it repaired. This is a safety issue that I should not have to pay for. Apparently it has happened to a lot of Chrysler cars. The headrest is not fixed and is available for inspection if needed.
car continues to stall, new pcm, new tpim, new throttle body, new fuel pump. No check engine lights, stalls when coming to stop or heavy acceleration. HUGE SAFTETY concern.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH and making a turn, the vehicle inadvertently lost power steering and another vehicle slightly crashed into the rear end of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries sustained. A police report was not filed. The contact stated that he forcefully steered the steering wheel and veered to the side of the road. The contact stated that he was unable to drive the vehicle after several attempts. The lightning bolt warning light illuminated. The vehicle was pushed to his residence with assistance. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated they noticed the front driver and passenger side interior door chrome handles were very loose and has a very sharp edge at the end of them. The contact stated when exiting out of their vehicle when they reached for the front driver side door handle and the edge of the door handle was so sharp the edge of the handle had cut the driver's index finger which caused the contact to go to the hospital for stitches. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
My vehicle turns off like out of no where has done this three times also some oil is getting in the coolant take and when driving has a weird smell like gas or something
Car shuts off randomly while driving and will not start back right away
Purchased car 8/03/21. Got full possession of car 8/18/21. The car shuts off while driving and backing up with no warning. It shuts off when you press on the brakes. When you come to a complete stop and then press on the accelerator , the car hesitates to move, then moves very slowly , jerks then starts to move at a normal pace . Engine light comes on continuously.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35-40 MPH and approaching a four-way stop, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle inadvertently stalled and lost electrical power. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and continued to drive. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the battery and unknown sensors needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.
ON 9/3/21 MY CAR STALLED TWICE WHILE DRIVING, NO WARNING, NO LIGHTS, THEN IT RESTARTED ON IT'S OWN. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN WITH OTHER CARS APPROACHING MY CAR, COULD HAVE GOTTEN HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. UNABLE TO STEER AND HORN WITH A LOW BEEP. ON 9/4/21 ST 7:30AM WHILE DRIVING TO TAKE CAR TO GET CHECKED OUT I THOUGHT I SAW A SPARK WHERE AUX CABLE WAS INSERTED, I UNPLUGGED THE CABLE, NO BURNING SMELL OR ANY OTHER THINGS SEEN.

Air bag light is on code B1C14 driver active headrest control circuit open
The car engine periodically loses power. My mechanic did a diagnostics and said the problem is with the Throttle Control Actuator, the code is P2173. Although my car is not included in the recall, my Mechanic is sure it is a default issue by Chrysler. I am experiencing the same malfunctioning problems as other Chryslers that were being recalled for engine losing power. This has happened while driving on the expressway, I had to put on my caution light and pray until I could get to my Mechanic's shop. I informed Chrysler about this and I kept getting the runaround. This car only has 36,000 miles on it, even though it's a 2013; my Mother owned this car before me and we both take very good care of all the maintenance for the car. The safety problem is that this issue can happen anytime without warning and I am afraid to even drive the car especially on the highway or expressway, but it is unavoidable at times.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving at approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer for a diagnostic test, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
About 2yrs ago I had my alternator replaced when I broke down 2hrs from home by Jd ByRider in Owensboro Ky and yesterday I was driving down the street when I noticed my car wouldn’t kick into gear at 35mph. I got to the stop sign when traction light and ABS lights and brake light lit up on my dash and my stereo clock went black! I shut it off Tried to start it back and it just clicked. After finally getting it to start back up, on my message center it read rear lamp bulb out and dash just started flashing different things. It was so fast that I couldn’t catch every light that flashed. JD ByRyder replaced the alternator for me as my car was under warranty at that time. I’ve also had electrical problems with power windows and charging components in my car. When my car did this yesterday my wheel locked and I wasn’t able to steer or anything so it posed a safety risk of crashing. This is a repeated problem and it needs to be checked into as it could’ve been very fatal should I had been on a highway going faster than 35mph. You can get the repair invoice from JD ByRyder in Owensboro under [XXX] 2013 Chrysler 200. Car is available for y’all to check upon request if needed. Due to covid I don’t have the money to have it repaired again. I also have grandchildren that are with me everytime I am in my car. This could’ve been a serious fatal accident. Email me with results from this [XXX] and my phone number is [XXX] call or text if need to get in touch with me faster than emailing. Thank you and god bless. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving in a rainstorm, the windshield wipers started skipping and eventually stopped working. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 124,411.
My 2013 Chrysler 200 has stalled or shut off completely while driving. The steering wheel and brakes lock up and the car just stops running. There are never any warnings or lights ahead of time to indicate there is any problem. The car simply just shuts off while driving and will not start back up right away. After sitting for about an hour untouched, the car will start right up and run fine until it happens again. No mechanic can diagnose it because there are no lights or codes to run to say what the issue is. My third time this happened, I was in a busy intersection attempting to make a turn and was almost t-boned when my car couldn't move out of the intersection. After the car shuts down and I attempt to restart right away, all the lights on the dash light up, but none stay on once the car stops cranking or even when the car does actually start up again. This is very dangerous for myself and any one else I may have in my car with me. I am a mother and I do not feel safe ever having my kids in my car with me. I've read online that this has happened to so many others but no recall will ever be done to fix this issue.
MY HEADRESTS WERE REPLACED DUE TO A RECALL HOWEVER, ONCE THEY WERE REPLACED MY CHECK AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. I WAS BRUSHED OFF AND TOLD THAT IT WOULD TURN OFF AFTER A DAY OR SO. IT HAS NOT AND NOW I'M BEING TOLD (BY THE DEALERSHIP) THAT I CAN BRING IT IN HOWEVER, I'LL BE CHARGED $500.00 TO REPAY AND REPLACE. I HAD NO ISSUES OR INDICATION PRIOR TO MY HEADREST BEING REPLACED LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS NO FAULT OF MY OWN. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND THE LACK OF CONCERN FROM DEALERSHIPS SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS BEEN NOT ONLY DISHEARTENING BUT HAD ME VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND MYSELF SERVING MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION IN FEAR THAT SHOULD I BE AN ACCIDENT, WILL MY AIRBAGS DEPLOY.
