TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS ANTIFREEZE LEAKING ON THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE BRAKE PEDAL. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS LIGHT GRAY SMOKE COMING THROUGH THE VENT AND A STRONG COOLANT ODOR. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THE SMOKE FOGS THE WINDOW. THE CONTACT CONTACTED AUTO PARK CHRYSLER JEEP 400 AUTOPARK BLVD, CARY, NC 27511 WHERE THEY INFORMED THAT THERE WAS ONE RECALL ON HER VEHICLE BUT NOT FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STATIONARY WITH THE ENGINE IDLING, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST IMPACT UNIT DEPLOYED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN A CRASH. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER ARRIGO DODGE LOCATED AT (2250 STATE RD. 7, MARGATE FL. 33063) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
AT RANDOM MY CARS DIES/STALLS. I COULD BE AT A STOP SIGN AND THE ENGINE LOSE POWER SHAKES THEN DIES. I COULD BE DRIVING IN TOWN CRUISING DOWN MAIN STREET AT 25MPH AND MY CAR ENGINE WILL LOSE POWER SHAKE THEN DIE WHILE I'M STILL DRIVING IN MOTION. I COULD BE DRIVING ON THE FREE WAY WITH SPEEDS AT 70 MPH AND MY CAR WILL JUST DIE, FOOT GOES ALL THE WAY IN PEDDLE WHEN DEAD. YOU COULD FEEL NO POWER IN THE CAR AND IT WILL ROLL OUT. ONCE THE CAR IS DEAD THE POWER STEERING IS OUT. IT'S VERY UNSAFE. I'VE BEEN BROKEN DOWN FOR HOURS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR MINUTES. I'VE BEEN BROKEN DOWN IN ALL 3 SITUATIONS MULTIPLE TIMES AS STATED ABOVE. THE CAR SHOWS NO WARNING WHEN IT IS GOING TO DIE, NO ENGINE LIGHTS EITHER, HAPPENS AT RANDOM. VERY UNRELIABLE AND IT TRAGIC THAT I HAVE TO KEEP PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT DOES NOT PERFORM LIKE IT SHOULD, I'M PAYING FOR A BROKEN CAR. DEALERSHIP WANTS NO PART OF IT. I'VE GOT A RECALL LETTER, TOOK IT IN AND NOTHING WAS FIX. THEY SAY IT WAS THE PCM BUT LITTLE DID THEY KNOW IT WAS A BRAND NEW ON. ALREADY WAS UPDATED. I FEEL NOTHING WAS DONT TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM SINCE THE DEALERSHIP HAD ABOUT 10 OTHER PEOPLE WITH RECALL LETTER. I'D REALLY APPRECIATE THE HELP IF ANY CAN BE ASSISTED
THE ALTERNATOR KEEPS GOING OUT ON MY CAR. IT'S A 2013 CHRYSLER 200 LX. I PUT 3 ALTERNATORS IN LESS THAN 5 MONTHS! A NEW BATTERY AS WELL! NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT'S THE PROBLEM. IT HAS TO BE A RE CALL. I SEE A LOT OF OWNERS REPORTING THINGS LIKE THIS. PLEASE HELP!
ENGINE KEEPS STALLING AT STOP LIGHTS AND SIGNS, MY KIDS ARE IN THE CAR AND DON'T WANT TO GET HIT BECAUSE OF IT, CAR HAS 129,000 MILES ALWAYS BEEN VERY WELL MAINTAINED AND NOW ONLY PROBLEMS. ALSO WE BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW MADE EVERY PAYMENT ON TIME ONLY TO START HAVING PROBLEMS ONCE IT'S PAID OFF. SO FRUSTRATING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 200 TOURING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE MADE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BATTERY AND HAD THE ALTERNATOR TESTED BY AN UNKNOWN MECHANIC. NEITHER A DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
MY VEHICLE STALLS WHEN I SLOW DOWN (1-5MPH) OR STOP. WHEN I'M IDLE THE ENGINE FEELS LIKE IT HAS NO POWER AND SOMETIMES IT FEELS AS IF IT MISFIRES. IT STALLS ONCE A DAY. MOST COMMON MOMENTS WHEN IT STALLS IS WHEN I STOP GOING UP A HILL.
HEADREST POPPED OUT WHILE DRIVING
THE CAR HAS A BROKEN CONTROL VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK AS THE DEALER TOLD ME AND THIS CAR SHOULD ALSO BE ON A RECALL TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK AS IT WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE .
WHILE DRIVING SLOWER, DECELERATING, OR BEGINNING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE BRAKES AND STEERING LOCK UP, AND THEN THE CAR STALLS/SHUTS DOWN. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 5 TIMES IN THE PAST 2 WEEKS. PRIOR TO THAT, IT WOULD HAPPEN ABOUT ONCE A WEEK FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS. IT HAS OCCURRED RIGHT BEFORE HAVING TO MERGE FROM A LANE OF HEAVY TRAFFIC (BUMPER-TO-BUMPER) ONTO A BUSY HIGHWAY, PUTTING ME IN A DANGEROUS POSITION. LUCKILY, AFTER TURNING THE IGNITION OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN, EVERYTHING WORKS FINE...UNTIL IT DOESN'T AGAIN.
DRIVING OVER 60 OR 70'MILES PER HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY AND ACCELERATING TOO FAST (STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL TOO MUCH) I.E. FLOORING IT. THE ENGINE WILL SHUT DOWN AND WILL NOT START AGAIN FOR AWHILE. ONCE THE VEHICLE STARTS UP THEN IT WORKS FINE. RARELY DO I NEED TO ACCELERATE THAT MUCH GOING THAT FAST BUT IT'S HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE AND THE MECHANIC I WENT TOO SAID HIS SON HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE.
THE ENGINE KEEPS STALLING WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING. IT IS UNABLE TO RESTART FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES, THEN WILL START UP NORMALLY AS IF NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO CHRYSLER SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES TO BE TOLD THAT NOTHING SHOWS UP ON THE DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY CANNOT DETERMINE THE ISSUE TO THIS VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM HAPPENS WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION AND CAN HAPPEN ANYTIME REGARDLESS OF SPEED, LOCATION, OR WHAT THE CAR IS DOING. IT HAPPENS REPEATEDLY, APPROXIMATELY EVERY 3 WEEKS.
AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF HAVING DTC COME UP FOR EVAP AND MISFIRE THEN DISAPPEAR JUST A QUICK AS IT CAME UP, MY VEHICLE HAS RECENTLY BEGAN STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING, SPECIFICALLY WHILE DECELERATING OR IDLING. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED 2 YEARS AGO AND TESTS GOOD EVERY TIME, AS DOES THE ALTERNATOR, STARTER, WIRES, CONNECTORS AND SENSORS. NOBODY CAN FIND ANY DTC ON THE OBDII OR ANYTHING ELSE. IT'S EASY TO REPLICATE BUT IMPOSSIBLE TO DECIDE WHY. I'VE TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT POSSIBLE RECALLS FROM 2012 CONCERNING THE PCM AS WELL AS CHATTED WITH A FEW PEOPLE ON THE CHRYSLER WEBSITE AND NOBODY WANTS TO HELP. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION, AS I CAN PROVE WITH VIDEO FROM MY DASH CAM AND BACK UP CAM. THE PEOPLE ON THE CHRYSLER WEBSITE WERE VERY RUDE, AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT WILLING TO STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT EITHER WITHOUT CHARGING $300 JUST TO DIAGNOSE. IT'S SAYS RIGHT ON THE WEBSITE "WHAT IS A SAFETY RECALL? SAFETY RECALLS INCLUDE ANY PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED WITH AN FCA US PRODUCT RELATED TO THE SAFE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE OR THE SAFETY OF THE OCCUPANTS. FCA US LLC WILL CORRECT THE PROBLEM, AT NO CHARGE, EVEN IF THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND YOU ARE NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER." AS WELL AS "RECALL FAQS FCA US REGARDS THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF OUR CUSTOMERS AND THEIR FAMILIES AS PARAMOUNT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35-40 MPH AND COMING TO A STOP WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS INDEPENDENT ACCELERATION WHILE STOPPED WITH THE RPM REVVED UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A PRESSURE FAILURE IN THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SECOND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A FAULT CODE FOR THE CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
CAR STALLING WHILE DRIVING CALLED RECALL SAID THAT MY CAR DOESN'T GO BUT IT'S LOSTED UNDER MY RECALL
WHILE SITTING IN MY CAR IN A PARKING LOT, WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND THE CAR IN PARK, THE DRIVER HEADREST POPPED OPEN AND STRUCK THE BACK OF MY HEAD.
CLOCKSPRING FAILED CAUSING LACK OF HORN AND POSSIBLE AIR BAG PROBLEMS.
AS I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE INTERSTATE, ALL OF MY LIGHTS CAME ON AND THEN IT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. I TRIED TO START IT MULTIPLE TIMES, AND THEN WHEN IT FINALLY STARTED UP AGAIN, THE WHOLE ENGINE WAS SHAKING AND MADE MY MUFFLERS RATTLE AS WELL. THEN IT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AGAIN. I HAVE A NEW BATTERY, FRESH OIL CHANGE, AND MY CAR HAS BEEN CHECKED FOR ISSUES AND NONE WERE FOUND. MY ENGINE HAS QUIVERED EVERY NOW AND THEN SINCE I BOUGHT IT IN JUNE OF 2016, IT IS A 2013. SOMETHING NEEDS DONE, THE COMPANY NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL BECAUSE THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE. I DID CONTACT THE CHRYSLER COMPANY AND MADE THEM AWARE OF MY SITUATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING 60 MPH, THE DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED AND THE FRONT PASSENGER VENT FAILED TO PROVIDE VISIBILITY. THE DRIVER HAD TO PULL OVER AND MANUALLY WIPE THE WINDSHIELD TO CONTINUE DRIVING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
ENGINE STALL EVER TIME I DRIVE MY CAR ENGINE WILL STALL IT HAS HAPPEN TO ME 3 TIMES IN THE HIGHWAY.
MY ENGINE DIES OUT WHILE I AM DRIVING THEN AFTER SITTING FOR ABOUT 5 MINS IT STARTS BACK UP. IT'S BEEN CHECKED BY MECHANICS BUT NONE KNOWS WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY 2013 CHRYSLER 200 SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE DRIVING. IT APPEARED AS IF THE ENGINE WAS NOT GETTING ANY GAS. WHEN I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WANTED TO START BUT NO GAS WAS GETTING TO THE ENGINE. I. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE SHOP PUT MY VEHICLE ON THE COMPUTER AND NO ISSUES WAS REVEALED. EACH TIME THAT IT SHUT OFF I HAD A FULL TANK OF GAS TO 3/4 OF GAS. I HAD TO WAIT 45-60 MINUTES BEFORE THE CAR WOULD START AGAIN. ON 3OCT2019 I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK TRAVELING 65 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN ON ME ON THE INTERSTATE. WHILE I WAS SITTING IN MY PARKED VEHICLE, ENGINE OFF, LEANING TOWARDS THE CENTER OF THE CAR TO ADJUST SOMETHING THE HEADREST OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT DEPLOYED UNEXPECTEDLY. IT IS UNABLE TO BE RE-ATTACHED, AND I FOUND A SMALL PIECE OF BROKEN PLASTIC IN THE REAR SEAT THAT HADN'T BEEN THERE BEFORE. HAVING LOOKED AT RECALL INFORMATION AND OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS, I BELIEVE THIS TO BE IN THE SAME CATEGORY OF SOME OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING HEADREST FAILURES. I WILL BE CONTACTING MY DEALER TO GET THIS REPAIRED. I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN 2013.
DRIVER SEAT HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING ON SMOOTH HIGHWAY SURFACE AT 70MPH MAKING A LARGE NOISE AND HITTING HARD THE BACK OF DRIVER'S HEAD. THERE WERE NO LIGHTS OR INDICATION OF PROBLEMS ON THE DASH BOARD. AFTER I EXAMINED THE HEADREST THE PLASTIC HOLDING THE METAL BAR HAD DETERIORATED SO THAT THE BAR COULD NOT BE PLACED BACK IN ITS ORIGINAL SPOT, AND THE BAR WAS FOUND IN THE CLAMP BELOW. THE CLAMP WAS STILL LOCKED. THE HEADREST COULD NOT BE RESET SINCE THE PLASTIC WAS BROKEN. THE HEADREST IN THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD 3 RECALLS FOR NOT DEPLOYING IN AN ACCIDENT AND ALL HAVE BEEN SERVICED ON THIS VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND HAS HAD NO REASON TO DEPLOY. THE FORCE WHEN DEPLOYING CAN CAUSE NECK OR HEAD INJURIES TO THE OCCUPANT AND THEREFORE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. THE COMPANY WOULD NOT COVER REPLACEMENT AND THE TOTAL COST TO REPLACE THE HEADREST AND INSTALL CAME TO $730. AFTER DISCOUNTED WITH A COUPON FOR 12%.
WINDSHIELD WASHER PUMP HAS NO POWER AT PUMP. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS IRRADICALLY ON ROADS. INTERIOR LIGHTS NO POWER. HAVE BEEN TOLD BE AUTO COMPUTER REPAIR SERVICE THAT TIPM IS GOING OUT.
2013 CHRYSLER 200 LIMITED STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING. STARTED SEPT. 2019, AND HAS HAPPEN (EIGHT TIMES) ALMOST MONTHLY OR EVERY 500 MILES. NO WARNING- NO POWER STEERING; NO POWER BRAKES. AFTER STALLING- CAR CRANKS AND CAN TAKE UP TO 1-2 HRS BEFORE ENGINE WILL TURN OVER AGAIN. I HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO FOUR SEPARATE MECHANICS; INCLUDING CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND NOT ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM. ALSO, CAR DOES NOT THROW ANY CODES. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY; FUEL PUMP AND HAD PCM UPDATE AND VEHICLE STILL STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING.

AT APPROXIMATELY 3:10PM ON 8/29/19, THE CAR WAS ON AND IN PARK WITH THE AC TURNED ON, AS MY SON IN LAW WAS PLACING HIS 33-MONTH BABY IN THE CAR SEAT, LOCATED BEHIND THE DRIVERS SEAT. MY SON IN LAW SAT DOWN IN THE DRIVER SEAT AND WAS PULLING HIS FEET INTO THE VEHICLE WHEN HE HEARD A LOUD BLAST AND FELT THE SEAT HEADREST EXPLODE AGAINST HIS NECK AND BACK. HE STATES HE MAY HAVE BLACKED OUT FOR AN UNDETERMINED TIME. ALTHOUGH HE WAS DISORIENTED, HE THEN TURNED AROUND IN THE SEAT TO CHECK ON HIS SON, WHO WAS CRYING. HE NOTED THAT THE HEADREST WAS SPLIT APART. NO NOTATION OF ANY DUST OR PARTICLES WERE NOTED. HE THEN DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME AND PARKED IT IN THE DRIVEWAY AT OUR HOME. MY SON IN LAW HAD BAD HEADACHES THAT NIGHT, SO I ENCOURAGED HIM TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM TO BE CHECKED. THE ER PHYSICIAN FELT THAT HE DID HAVE A CONCUSSION AND GAVE HIM INSTRUCTIONS ON CARE POST-CONCUSSION. CHRYSLER IS SENDING A TECHNICIAN TO CHECK THE CAR. I HAVE SIGNED AN AGREEMENT THAT ALLOWS THEM TO REVIEW THE ORC (OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER) AND THE EDR (EVENT DATA RECORD) AND TO SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH THE NHTSA. THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED IN MAY OR JUNE 2016 FROM CARMAX IN AUSTIN TEXAS AND HAS BEEN IN FOR ALL RECALLS SINCE THAT TIME. THERE IS ONE RECENT RECALL THAT HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED DUE TO WAITING FOR TEXAN CHRYSLER/DODGE TO GET THE PART AND CALL ME. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF ANY FURTHER INFORMATION IS NEEDED FROM ME. "TAKATA RECALL" MY FRONT PASSENGER HEADREST OPENED UP AND CAN NOT BE PUT BACK TOGETHER. I CAME OUT TO GET IN AND IT WAS OPEN. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WOULD COST OVER $400.00 TO REPLACE. THE CAR WAS SETTING STILL.
ON AUGUST 20TH I NOTICED THE HEADREST ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT HAD DEPLOYED. THE HEADREST MECHANISM DEPLOYED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. I NOTICED SEVERAL SMALL PIECES OF BLACK PLASTIC ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. UPON EXAMINING THE HEADREST, I SAW THAT THE PLASTIC WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO HOLD A SPRING MECHANISM HAD FAILED. THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT WAS ALLEGEDLY FIXED DURING AN EARLIER CHRYSLER RECALL, AS THERE WERE ISSUES WITH THE ARH NOT DEPLOYING. IT NOW APPEARS THAT THE FIX MAY BE CALIBRATED TOO SENSITIVE AND THE AHR DEPLOYS WITH NO TRIGGER EVENT. MY CHRYSLER 200 HAD 51,000 MILES WHEN THIS OCCURRED; IT IS STILL COVER BY A PLATINUM SERVICE CONTRACT ALTHOUGH THE DEALER IS BALKING AT ALLOWING THE REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEFECTIVE HEADREST IS STILL INSTALLED IN THE CAR. I AM CONTACTING CHRYSLER TO MAKE THE NEEDED REPAIRS AS WELL.

IN JULY 2019, MY 2013 CHRYSLER 200, THAT I PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN 2014 JUST STOPPED. WOULDN'T GO FORWARD OR BACKWARD. I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD ON A STEEP HILL. I WENT FROM 45 MPH TO NOTHING WITHOUT ANY WARNING. NO WARNING LIGHTS EVER CAME ON AND THE CAR WASN'T ACTING ANY DIFFERENT THAN IT HAD THE MILLION TIMES I HAD TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR IT BEING JERKY WHEN TAKING OFF. THEY REPEATEDLY TOLD ME THERE WERE NO ISSUES FOUND AND THE CAR WAS FINE. I WAS AND STILL AM THE SOUL OWNER OF THIS CAR THAT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE 85,000 MILES ON IT. I SPOKE WITH CHRYSLER SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT MY WARRANTY AND THE NOW BAD TRANSMISSION. THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO THE CLOSEST CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. WHICH I HAD IT TOWED THERE SINCE THE CAR WAS NO LONGER DRIVABLE. I WAS CONTACTED A FEW DAYS LATER BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TELLING ME IT WAS, IN FACT THE TRANSMISSION AND WOULD NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THIS CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BY 30 DAYS GIVE OR TAKE AND WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BY MILES. BUT SINCE IT'S AN EITHER-OR WARRANTY, I WAS NOW OUT OF A CAR THAT I HAD PAID ALMOST $30,000 FOR, UNLESS I WANTED TO GO IN HALF WITH CHRYSLER AND PAY THEM AN ADDITIONAL $2113.44 TO REPLACE OR FIX THE CURRENT TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION IS A CLOSED TRANSMISSION BUT DIDN'T REQUIRE ANY SERVICE UNTIL 96,000 MILES PER THE OWNER'S MANUAL. HAD I HAD, MY THEN 9-MONTH-OLD GRANDSON WITH ME WHEN THE CAR WENT FROM 45 MPH TO NOTHING AND A VEHICLE HAD BEEN BEHIND ME, WE BOTH COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR EVEN KILLED. THE CAR NEVER GAVE ANY WARNING THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE BEFORE THERE WAS AN ISSUE. I FIND THIS COMPLETELY UNSATISFACTORY AS A PARENT, NANA, AND QUITE FRANKLY A HUMAN. HAD I KNOWN OF THIS WEBSITE WHEN THIS HAPPENED, I WOULD HAVE REPORTED IT THEN! HOPE YOU ARE ABLE TO MAKE THIS KIND OF SITUATION NOT HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ELSE.

THE DEALER FURTHER STATED THAT THERE WAS POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL FAILURE DUE TO AN IMPROPER JUMP START. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THE DEALER CAUSED THE ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY FAILURE RECURRED EVEN THOUGH THE DEALER DID NOT THINK A FAILURE EXISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE THE CONTACT FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.

HAD TO GET RADIO FIXED WHEN I FIRST GOT THE CAR. AFTER A YEAR IT STARTED MAKING CRACKLING SOUNDS, THEN IT STOPPED. SO I STARTED PLAYING CDS AND NOW THEY MAKE A POPPING SOUND EVERY 3 SECONDS. THE TRUNK WAS OPENING ONCE AND A WHILE NOW IT DOESN'T OPEN WITHOUT MOVING THE BACK SEAT. WHILE LOOKING FOR A RESOLVE, I SEE MANY PEOPLE HAVE THESE SAME PROBLEMS.
DRIVER'S HEAD RESTRAINT WAS ACTIVATED WITHOUT CAUSE. DEALER REPLACEMENT COSTS $390.00, NOT INCLUDING SERVICE AND INSTALLATION CHARGES. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN AN AREA OUTSIDE A MEETING PLACE AND THERE IS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE.
THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM KEEPS DRAINING THE BATTERY WHICH MAKES THE CAR STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF OPERATION. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE ROADWAY AND IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.
SEAT BELT ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE RETENTION LOCKS. THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO TAKE OUT FRONT SEAT TO GET THE CAR SEAT BACK IN NORMAL OPERATION.
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. WENT TO TURN ON VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT STARTS FLASHING. IT HAS NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE AND THE VEHICLE IS ONLY USED TO DRIVING BACK AND FORTH TO WORK. GOT IT CHECKED OUT AND FOUND OUT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HAS GONE BAD AND IS VERY CLOGGED.
4 DIFFERENT TIMES, THE CAR HAS JUST LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE HAD IT TO MY MECHANIC 4 TIMES AND THEY CANNOT FIND AN ISSUE. THIS LAST TIME I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65MPH AND IT JUST LOST ALL POWER. I HAD TO BE PUSHED OFF THE HIGHWAY. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. AN HOUR LATER IT STARTED UP AND I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO MY MECHANIC. IT HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR.
MY CHRYSLER 200 WILL NOT ALWAYS START. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A FEW DIFFERENT MECHANICS AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHY. IT IS INTERMITTENT WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURS. I HAVE HAD DIAGNOSTIC TESTING DONE AND NO ERRORS ARE EVER FOUND. BATTERY AND STARTER HAVE BEEN TESTED AND THEY PASS WITH FLYING COLORS. ALSO THE HEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOES NOT WORK. I'VE ALSO HAD THAT LOOKED AT BY THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE FROM AND THEY COULD NOT FIND THE REASON WHY IT DOESN'T WORK. I HAVE CHECKED RECALL STATUS AND NOTHING COMES UP FOR MY VEHICLE. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!
I WAS DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WHEN THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THE CAR STALL I HAD TO CALL THE TOW TRUCK AND THE POLICE FOR HELP BECAUSE I COULDN'T EVEN PUT MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON. I WAITED FOR 2 HOURS AND SUDDENLY THE CAR WENT BACK ON. THE CAR LIKE IF NOTHING EVER HAPPENED. IT WAS SCARY LUCK THAT I WASN'T ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY CHILDREN AT THAT TIME.
