THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V552000 (ENGINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. EVERY 3 TO 6 MONTHS, MY BRAKES START SCRUBBING AND I HAVE DIFFICULTY STOPPING MY CAR WHEN DRIVING AND AS A RESULT OF FREQUENT BRAKE REPLACEMENTS. THIS HAS BECOME EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. THIS ISSUE STARTED IN 2014 AND IT HAS CONTINUED THROUGH 2018.
THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN COMING TO A STOP, THERE ARE NO CODES STORED AND THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LAMP WHEN THIS OCCURS. IT OFTEN STUMBLES WHEN COMING TO A STOP LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL BUT RECOVERS. I AM A CAREER AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN FOR OVER 25 YEARS, TRIPLE ASE MASTER TECH I HAVE PERFORMED A THROTTLE BODY CLEANING AND CHECKED ALL THE BASICS, BUT THERE IS NO INDICATION OF ANY OTHER ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE.

ON 6/16/2018, I WAS INVOLVED IN A HIGHWAY ACCIDENT WHEN TRAVELING SOUTH AND A DEER RAN OUT ACROSS FROM THE NORTH SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY CRASHING RIGHT INTO THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE OF MY VEHICLE THEN FLEW UP IN THE AND CRASHED DOWN RIGHT THREW MY WINDSHIELD WHILE I WAS TRAVELING AT A RATE OF SPEED OF 50 MPH. I WAS SEVERELY INJURED SINCE MY SEATBELTS FAILED TO RESTRAIN ME AND NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. HOWEVER, MONTHS AFTER VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOLLOWING DEER COLLISION THE AIRBAG SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED AND I SUFFERED SECONDARY INJURY. I NEED SOME ANSWERS ON WHY I WANTED NOTIFIED ABOUT THE RECALL BEFORE NOW. I JUST RECEIVED THE LETTER REGARDING RECALL ON THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS AND SEATBELTS TWO YEARS LATER! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. WHEN I EXITED THE VEHICLE I HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND SAY THE DRIVER HEADREST POP UP AND SPLIT APART DISCLOSING THE INTERNAL MECHANISM. I WAS FORTUNATE NOT TO BE DRIVING WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I HAVE FOUND AT LEAST 16 COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND I'M AMAZED THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL. I FEAR THAT THE PASSENGER HEADREST WILL POP AND INJURE MY PASSENGER.
MY CAR STARTS RIGHT UP BUT WHEN I COME TO A STOP THE CAR DIES BUT STARTS RIGHT BACK UP. AS I AM COMING TO A STOP IT JERKS FORWARD LIKE SOMEONE IS PRESSING IN THE THROTTLE. WHEN I REVERSE IT DIES AS WELL BUT STARTS UP. IF I TAKE MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE AND GUIDE IT FORWARD THE RPM GOES UP THEN DOWN AND I CAN KEEP IT AT AN IDLE. THIS IS EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR AND ITS GETTING WORSE. WHEN I DRIVE IT JERKS AS WELL. ALMOST LIKE IT IS HAVING A HARD TIME SHIFTING.

THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE HEADLAMP BULBS. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REVERSE OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A FIRE HYDRANT. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 56,000. *TT
I HAVE A 2013 CHRYSLER 200 WITH THE 'PENTASTAR TICK'. A KNOWN PROBLEM TO BE FOUND IN THE 2011 TO 2013 DODGE, JEEP, AND CHRYSLER. THIS ISSUE COMES FROM THE CYLINDER HEAD OR IN MY CASE THE CAMSHAFT ROCKERS AND LIFTERS. THESE ARE KNOWN ISSUES WITH THE PENTASTAR ENGINE, TO THE POINT IT HAS RECEIVED THE NAME THE 'PENTASTAR TICK'. A 150,000 MILE WARRANTY HAS BEEN EXTENDED TOWARD THE CYLINDER, BUT AS FOR THE CAMSHAFT NO EXTENDED WARRANTY HAS BEEN AUTHORIZED. SINCE LESS CONSUMERS ARE AFFECTED BY OR REPORT THE CAMSHAFT ISSUE, FIAT CHRYSLER AUTO FEELS IT IS NOT LIABLE. A PROBLEM THEY KNOW EXIST BUT IF IT APPEARS AT THE END OF THE 5 YEARS/100,000 MILE WARRANTY AND IT DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY LIFE THREATENING ISSUE FOR THE CAR OWNER, THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PENTASTAR ENGINE.
MY ENGINE HAS CUT OFF NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE TURNING AS I WAS DRIVING. WHEN I TRY TO RESTART THE ENGINE TURNS OVER BUT WON'T STAY RUNNING. I HAVE TO LET CAR SIT FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES THEN TRY AGAIN & IT STARTS.

A POLICE AND A FIRE REPORT WERE NOT FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A TOW YARD. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V043000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A CALL BACK TO DETERMINE IF THEY COULD INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.

2013 CHRYSLER 200 PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED. SEPT 2017 HAD CHRYSLER 200 ORC REPLACED DUE TO RECALL. APRIL 27TH 2018 WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES PER HR, THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON, STRIKING MY PASSENGER IN THE HEAD.

BREAK LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING. STAYS ON FOR 30SECS AND THEN SHUTS OFF. HAPPENS WHEN GOING AROUND A SHARP CURVE, DOWN HILL, OR STOPPING ABRUPTLY. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND NO CODES FOUND. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND SEEN THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH 200S FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW, AND THERE HAS BEEN NO FIX. BREAK PADS WEAR DOWN AT A MUCH FASTER RATE THAN NORMAL. EVEN AFTER BREAK SYSTEM HAS BEEN FLUSHED. HAVE NOT HAD AN ISSUE STOPPING THE CAR, JUST THE LIGHT COMES ON OFTEN. 2ND. RACK AND PINION HAS GONE OUT CAUSING THE CAR TO LOSE POWER STEERING IN 1 DIRECTION ONLY. IN MY INSTANCE, I WAS ONLY ABLE TO TURN LEFT NORMALLY AND IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN RIGHT. HAPPENED WHEN I WAS PARKING THE CAR AND WENT TO STRAIGHTEN UP THE WHEEL. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE FIXED.

LANCASTER AVE, DOWNINGTOWN, PA 19335, 888-372-3597) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRES WERE FLAT, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DISCLOSED. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH NEW TIRES. WHILE SERVICING THE VEHICLE, THE MECHANIC DAMAGED THE RADIATOR AND WOULD NOT PERFORM THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,066.

The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that when he entered the vehicle, the failure reoccurred with the driver's side headrest. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the warranty had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. TRIED TO START MY CAR AND WOULDN'T START. I REMOTE STARTED MY CAR WITH THE KEY AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. THE CAR RAN NORMAL ALL THE LIGHTS ON DASH LITE UP, RADIO WAS PLAYING, AIR ON EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. I WAS GOING STRAIGHT DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THERE WAS A VERY LOUD NOISE AND I WAS HIT IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD VERY HARD WHICH SORT OF STUNNED ME. I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY TO SEE WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I COULDN'T SEE A PROBLEM UNTIL I GOT OUT OF THE CAR THEN I DISCOVERED THE HEADREST HAD DEPLOYED.

THE WEBSITE INDICATES THIS RECALL IS STILL OUTSTANDING AND I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL JUST LAST WEEK. COULD YOU PLEASE FIX THE WEBSITE TO SHOW THIS HAS BEEN RESOLVED. THE DEFROSTER AND HEATER ONLY BLOW COLD AIR, THEY NO LONGER BLOW ANY WARM OR HOT AIR, WITH THE TEMPERATURE CONTROLS ON MAXIMUM HEAT. THE HEATER CORE IS BLOCKED WITH SLUDGE. WHEN THE CAR WAS MANUFACTURED, THE COOLANT WAS MIXED WITH A MACHINING OIL THAT IS DESIGNED TO PLUG ANY PINHOLES THAT DEVELOP IN THE RADIATOR. OVER TIME, THIS ADDITIVE CAUSES SLUDGE TO FORM IN THE COOLANT. THAT SLUDGE BLOCKS THE HEATER CORE. FLUSHING THE COOLING SYSTEM DOES NO GOOD. CHRYSLER HAS BEEN ADVISING DEALERSHIP SERVICE ADVISORS TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR, HEATER CORE, OIL COOLER, AND OVERFLOW TANK TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS COMMON ON 2012, 2013, AND 2014 CHRYSLER 200'S. THE PICTURES I HAVE ATTACHED SHOW THE SLUDGE IN THE OVERFLOW TANK THAT FORMS IN THE COOLING SYSTEM AND BLOCKS THE HEATER CORE. THE PLUGGED HEATER CORE PREVENTS THE FRONT WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER FROM WORKING, CREATING HAZARDOUS AND DANGEROUS BLOCKED VISIBILITY WITH THE FRONT WINDSHIELD FOGGING OVER, PARTICULARLY DURING WINTER MONTHS. ADDITIONALLY, SNOW OR ICE PRECIPITATION BUILDUP ON THE WINDSHIELD CAN NOT BE MELTED WHILE THE CAR IS BEING OPERATED.
MY VEHICLE WILL CUT OFF/STALL WHILE DRIVING, LOSING SPEED CONTROL. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN I CAN COUNT. ON RESIDENTIAL STREET, MAIN HIGHWAYS, AND FREEWAYS WHILE DOING SPEEDS UP TO 70MPH. HEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE IS BLOWING LUKEWARM/COLD THEREFORE NOT DEFROSTING THE WINDSHIELD AND PASSENGER WINDOW. THERE'S AN ISSUE WITH THE THERMOSTATS ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE WHERE A SLUDGE IS BUILDING UP IN THEM THUS CAUSING THEM TO MALFUNCTION.
