While driving this vehicle the car would shut down while driving, no ability to brake, to steer. The car would start back up, but the same issues would happen, making it extremely dangerous to drive. This happened on several different occasions. One of my issues with this problem is that Chrysler had the same issue with the 2015 Chrysler 200 and the 2015 was recalled. If you look at sites other than Chrysler, customers had reported the same problem with the 2014 and it looks like Chrysler just swept it under the rug. The dealership is saying that the TIPM system needs to be replaced on my car, for a cost of $3000.00 for a know problem.
The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH on the highway, the vehicle stalled, and the vehicle turned off independently. The contact was able to coast over to the right side of the road, and attempted to restart the vehicle, and the vehicle started as intended. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to AAA where it was diagnosed and determined that the totally integrated power module (TIPM) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the horn was connected to the module. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.
Horn didn’t work and car stalled in the middle of highway. Part (clock spring)inside horn was replaced but horn still went off by itself or didn’t work. Entire fuse box ( integrated power module)that controlled horn replaced to solve problem. It has been determined that this was also cause of car stalling out.
The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shut off inadvertently. The contact stated that he was able to restart the vehicle within 15 minutes. The contact stated that on several occasions, the vehicle struggled to restart and would shut off again. The vehicle was taken to AutoZone however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where an unknown sensor was replaced; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact stated that the horn would engage independently. IT SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING ..WITHOUT NO WARNING LIGHTS INDICATING THAT THERES ANY PROBLEM.. THE BATTERY VOLTAGE IS GOOD AND MY ALTERNATOR IS GOOD AS WELL . IT SHUT OFF ON ME MORE THAN THREE TIMES.
MY CHRYSLER 200 HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENT POWER LOSS AND STALLING. WHEN DRIVING THE ENGINE PLUS ELECTRICAL POWER SHUTS DOWN WHICH LEADS TO A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THIS SITUATION ALMOST CAUSED A ACCIDENT WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. IN MY RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND MANY OTHERS WHO HAVE THE SAME COMPLAINT. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ON THIS MAKE/MODEL HAS A 'VERY BAD' RATING ON NHTSA WEBSITE.
My wife and daughters almost died in a car accident due to the apparent failure of this vehicle. We were driving on an HWY at night and the car just died out of nowhere. Dash started to flash and just died. We initially thought that it was the mechanic that had just fixed the car but after an investigation concluded that it was not anything they could have done. My family sustained life-threatening injuries and almost did not make it out alive as thee were rear-ended by a truck. Then on top of it when they were hit no airbags deployed which is what caused the injuries to be so much worse. After reading multiple complaints on NHTSA about the same issue for the same year and make I am baffled that this issue has not been addressed. I almost lost my family.

AFTER ONLY 3 YEARS THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE FAILED ON MY 2014 CHRYSLER 200. IT'S A $1,400 FIX. FOR A MAJOR SYSTEM TO GO IN 3 YEARS HAS TO BE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THEY SHOULD HELD LIABLE FOR IT.

TAKATA RECALL...I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED ANY ACCIDENT'S AND I PRAY I DON'T, HOWEVER I DO NOT FEEL SAFE AT DRIVING THIS CAR KNOWING THE DEFECTS THAT CAN POSSIBLY GO WRONG IN IT. I HAVE KIDS THAT ARE MY MAIN PRIORITY ALWAYS IN THE CAR WITH ME AND I'LL HATE TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT AND THESE DEFECTS TAKE PLACE THIS IS NOT A CHANCE I'M WILLING TO TAKE SINCE I'VE FOUND OUT THESE ISSUES. AS OF NOW I'M SHOWING THAT THERE IS NO RESOLUTION FOR THE ISSUES SO I'M WANTING TO SEE ABOUT TRADING THIS VEHICLE IN ASAP.
MY CAR HAD A ISSUE WITH ONE OF THE IGNITION COILS MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING THE PART TO MELT COMPLETELY MELT THROUGH THE VALVE COVER IN DEC. 2016. THIS CAUSED THE CAR TO STOP WHILE IN MOTION AND ONCE I STEERED IT OFF ROAD, IT SMOKED BADLY. AT THIS TIME THE CAR HAD ABOUT 52000 MILES ON IT . AS OF JUNE 2017, THE RECALL DEALING WITH THE SEATBELTS AND AIRBAGS HAVE NOT BEEN FIXED NOR LOOKED AT. I ALLOWED THE CAR TO BE RETURNED VIA REPO BECAUSE I WAS OUT OF NEARLY $1000 DOLLARS PAYING THE DEALER TO FIX THE CAR AND PAY FOR MY OWN RENTAL FOR TWO WEEKS WHILE THE CORP. OFFICE SEND THE OK FOR IT TO BE FIXED!!
LOCKS DON'T WORK. HAVE TO USE THE KEY FOB TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THEM, EVEN THEN THEY WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK SEVERAL TIMES EVEN THOUGH I ONLY PUSHED THE BUTTON ONCE.

DASHBOARD ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GOES HAYWIRE AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL NOT DISABLE/TURN OFF.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, I HAD MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THEN A SHORT TIME LATER MY ABS LIGHT COME ONE. MY CAR LOST POWER AND EVEN THOUGH YOU PRESS GAS PEDAL THE ENGINE DECELERATES LIKE IT IS TRYING TO SHIFT INTO SUPER LOW GEAR BUT NOT SENDING ANY POWER TO TRANSMISSION WHICH ACTS LIKE IT IS TOTALLY SLIPPING (IT IS ELECTRONIC TOO)! I ALMOST GOT HIT 4 TIMES BEFORE GETTING TO SIDE OF ROAD. I SHUT IT DOWN. IT THEN RE-STARTED AFTER 5 MINUTES AND RAN FINE FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE STARTING THE CYCLE AGAIN BUT LUCKILY I WAS ON THE BACK STREETS AND NOT THE HIGHWAY. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED!
