I RECEIVED RECALL ALERT FOR CODE V51 (RE-PROGRAM POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) OVER A YEAR AGO (DEC 2019) AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN GIVING THE RUN AROUND. I'VE CALLED NUMEROUS TIMES TO INQUIRE ABOUT GETTING IT FIXED AND EVERY TIME I'M TOLD THE MANAGER WILL START MAKING CALLS TO OWNERS FOR THE RECALL BUT NO SUCH THING HAS OCCURRED.
2.4L 2014 200 MODEL; THE RADIATOR COOLANT PLASTIC FILLER NECK DISINTEGRATED ALLOWING FOR GLYCOL COOLANT FUMES TO SEEP SLOWLY OVER TIME INTO CAR VIA CABIN AIR INTAKE OF INHABITANTS AS WELL AS ADD'L HAZARD TO CAR MOTOR VIA OVERHEATING. CAR HAD 72000 MILES ON IT.

THE 3.6 LITER CHRYSLER ENGINE HAS A FLAW IN THE INTER COOLER MIXING ANTIFREEZE WITH OIL CAUSING A LOSE OF HEAT ON PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. THIS IS A DESIGN PROBLEM EFFECTING CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, AND RAM WITH 3.6 LITER ENGINE. THE COST TO REPAIR IS $880.00 TO $1,200 PER CAR BECAUSE OF A FAULTY DESIGN. WHO IS GOING TO STEP UP TO HELP THE CONSUMER.
MY VEHICLE JUST LEAKED ALL THE OIL COMPLETELY. I KNOW A SIGNIFICANT OIL LEAK CHECKED THE OIL AND THEIR WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I SENT IT IN FOR REPAIRS AND IT HAPPENED TO BE A BROKEN OIL COOLER. MY BIG CONCERNS IS IF THE OIL WASN'T COOLING RIGHT/TRANSFERRING I WONDER WHAT EFFECT SIT HAD ON MY ENGINE. FOR A THREE YEAR OLD VEHICLE THAT'S A HUGE AND SAD DEFECT.
ENGINE LIGHT ON. CYLINDER HEAD REPLACEMENT. I TOOK IT TO BLACKS TIRE SERVICE, THEY SAID THERE IS A MISFIRE IN THE ENGINE (ENGINE RUNNING ON 5 CYLINDERS VS 6 CYLINDERS). WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED AND I LET GO OF THE BRAKE, IT STALLS A BIT (SHAKES), IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE IT WANTS TO SHUT OFF. IT ALSO STALLS WHEN I TAKE OFF.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
AT ABOUT 18,000 MILES, A LARGE PUDDLE OF OIL SUDDENLY FORMED UNDERNEATH MY CAR ON THE GARAGE FLOOR. THE DEALER IDENTIFIED THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK AS THE ENGINE OIL COOLER/HOUSING MOUNTED ON TOP OF THE ENGINE. THE SOLUTION WAS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT. THE EXACT SOURCE OF THE LEAK WAS NOT IDENTIFIED, BUT REPLACING THE UNIT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. AN INTERNET SEARCH INDICATES OTHERS HAVE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THEIR PENTASTAR ENGINES (CHRYSLER, JEEP, AND DODGE VEHICLES). HOWEVER, THE DEALER HAD DONE ALL BUT ONE FILTER REPLACEMENT, AND THE ONE FILTER THAT WAS NOT REPLACED BY THEM WAS INDEED THE CORRECT FILTER BECAUSE IT WAS STILL IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME THE DEALER DID THE REPLACEMENT. THE UNIT REPLACEMENT COST WAS ESTIMATED AT $340, BUT LOCATION OF THE REPAIR MEANS THAT IT TAKES AN EXPERIENCED MECHANIC ABOUT 3 HOURS TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. ALTHOUGH THE REPAIR WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, IT CONCERNS ME THAT SUCH A FUNDAMENTAL COMPONENT WOULD BREAK AFTER ONLY 18K MILES AND REQUIRES SUCH AN EXTENSIVE REPAIR EFFORT.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,100.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE THRUWAY IN UPSTATE NY, TWO DIFFERENT LIGHTS CAME ON AND A NOISE SOUND CAME ON ONE WAS A THERMOSTAT AND THE OTHER WAS AN H LOOKING LIGHT AND THEN MY VEHICLE SHUTDOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. A FEW WEEKS AGO I HAD WENT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THEY COMPLETED AN OIL CHANGE AND STATED THAT I NEEDED NEW TIRES. I'VE NEVER HAD IN ISSUES IN THE THREE YEARS I'VE BEEN FINANCING THIS VEHICLE. I'M STILL UNDER CONTRACT AND I'M NOT ABLE TO DRIVE VEHICLE. YESTERDAY WHILE PARKED AND SUPPOSEDLY ENGINE TURNED OFF, WHEN I RETURNED I NOTED THE ENGINE STILL SEEMED TO BE RUNNING EVEN THOUGH I TURNED IT OFF.
