GOV driver was being signaled by other passing vehicles to pull over as their vehicle was on fire. The driver was able to safely stop the vehicle and found the engine compartment was on fire. He then called EMS. 1) How fast was the customer traveling when they became aware of the fire? I was at a stop light when I was notified by another vehicle that my car was on fire. I had no idea my car was on fire previously. Once I pulled over I starting seeing smoke come out the vents. I was on the highway on my way to the destination and possibly going 60 MPH but didn’t see any smoke while on the highway. 2) What was the recent usage of the vehicle before the incident? Was it used that day? How long had the vehicle been driving before the incident? The GOV was used maybe once or twice every two months. Yes it was used that day for about 25 minutes before the fire was noticed. 3) Did any vehicle operator notice anything wrong or unusual about the vehicle prior to the incident? Not to my knowledge 4) Any after-market equipment installed? Not to my knowledge
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal to start the vehicle, the pedal was hard to depress. Additionally, while driving the vehicle would suddenly stall without warning. The failure had occurred on multiple occasions. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 73,000.
My car only has 24,778 miles on it and a message came up " SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM" The dealership says that it will be around $1500 to fix. Is this still under warranty?
My car gave me a service airbag message when I started it on July 31st. I already had an appointment scheduled with a Chrysler dealer to resolve an unrelated recall issue, so I asked them to look into what was causing the airbag issue, as well. They told me that the jumper wiring needed to be replaced on both sides of the vehicle in order to resolve diagnostic code B0020-13. They quoted me over $2,800.00 to fix the issue and told me that my airbags would not go off if I were to get in an accident unless the repairs were made. I am unable to afford this, so I contacted FHA customer service to seek cost assistance, but was told my car is too far out of warranty. My car only has 78,000 miles, so I should not have any safety issues with it. I was told by the technician that this is a common problem with my vehicle. Seeing as this is a safety issue and it is a common issue, I believe it is worth investigating to determine if it is caused by a manufacturing defect. I, like most people, cannot afford this costly of a repair, so I am putting my life at risk each time I drive my car, which I now know will not deploy the safety bags if I get in an accident. To make matters worse, I had to pay a $150.00 diagnostics fee just to find this out.
My emergency brake deploys while driving. I’ve almost died 3x. Have proof of reporting and photos .. now my car is wrecked. I need help.
Purchased this used 2016 Chrysler 200 from Dan Derry in Cedar Falls. The next day my son was driving this car the air bag light came on. Contacted dealer and they were not aware of any air bag issues with this car and told us we bought AS IS. From what I am reading on line Chrysler has know about this for some time. I see this has a huge safety issue that sounds like it is pretty expensive to fix. And even the people that have forked over the money to fix are still having issues. Took this to our mechanic and they are suggesting to take to dealer as there is a TSB on this issue. Not sure why a safety issue that has nothing to do with how the car is driven but how it was manufactured ends up being the responsibility of the sucker that bought the used car off a dealers lot.
My car is using an excessive amount of oil. I did an oil change on April 4th and by May 4th my car was telling me I need an oil change. I had not even driven it the recommended 3,000 miles before doing an oil change. I added the 1 1/2 quarts of oil that my car showed was low and had only driven it for a 2 hour trip before it needed oil again. It also smelled like it was burning.
The vehicle will stall with no warning and can not be diagnosed because there is no warning indicators. This has happened 5 times in the past month
This Chrysler 200 will stop while I am driving for no reason!
The airbag light comes on constantly, it puts MYSELF or anyone who is in my car at risk. It says to check the airbag and the wiring under the seat is the problem. It's loose. I constantly have to wiggle it for it to go away and a dealership wants to charge 300 dollars for a diagnosis and repair. If I crash, I feel as if the airbag will not deploy and it seems a lot of people online have the same issue when googling the problems.
3 ongoing problems. 1. Our car dies while driving. This is Dangerous. Tonight is the 3rd (maybe 4th) time in about a year or year and a half or so. The first two times modesto jeep dodge chrysler determined it was too low on oil (but the mileage was much less than when oil change was due according to my oil change sticker. Also very dangerous because there is never an oil light that comes on the dashboard to warn oil low. About 3 months ago it died 500 miles before oil change supposed to be due. Tonight it died again with no warning. Oil change is not supposed to be due for another 1000 miles. Very scary. No warning light. 2. After I'm stopped at a stop sign or light then during acceleration car jerks. 3. I've had this car about 3 years. The airbag light came on shortly after I owned the car. Never been in an accident in this car.
My service airbag light comes on and off frequently. sometimes it'll be on when i start my car, and the it'll turn off again when i make a turn, adjust my seat, etc. its a strong belief that im having the underseat wire harness issue that many others are having. i have yet to take it to a mechanic to have it looked at as i don't readily have the money to repair an issue, especially considering I've seen a few people say they have this issue addressed repeatedly. this is a major safety concern and i fear if i happen to get into an accident that my airbag will not deploy because of it.
I was driving and stopped started taking off and my car shut off in the middle of the road as I was crossing a busy intersection. It would not allow me to cut my hazards on. Then after a couple mins it started back up. The engine light came on and then went away. I received a letter in the mail from FCA on 5/17/21 stating powertrain software needed to be updated. This needs to be labeled as a safety hazard this could have caused an accident. This vehicle shuts off in the middle of the street randomly from this and the dealer is telling me they cannot fix this until Friday. I spoke with someone at the FCA recall center who advised this is doing this because it needs that software update this needs to be labeled as a safety recall not an update.
MY CAR IS STALLING AND HAVING TROUBLE TO RESTART I HAVE HAD MORE THAN FIVE OCCURRANCES THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AS I SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE A TURN DOES IT MORE WHEN I TURN LEFT
A SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON IN MY 2016 CHRYSLER 200. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP FOR ANOTHER RECALL AND HAD THEM CHECK INTO THE AIRBAG SITUATION. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THAT WIRING HARNESS FOR THE AIRBAG NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND WILL NOT BE COVERED SINCE MY VEHICLE IS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY. THE REPAIR IS APPROXIMATELY $1200.00. I DO NOT BELIEVE AS A CUSTOMER I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS REPAIR. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND ITS NOT A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE AND I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE AIRBAG OR HARNESS TO WHERE I WOULD OF DAMAGED IT. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND PURCHASING VEHICLES FOR THE LAST 30 + YEARS AND NEVER HAD ANY SUCH ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH NO SUCCESS INTO TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY. I WOULD LIKE TO PROVIDE A FORMAL COMPLAINT ON THIS AND SEEKING TO SEE WHAT MY OPTIONS ARE IN THIS SITUATION. CHRYSLER CANNOT EVEN ADVISE WHICH AIRBAG IS DEFECTIVE WHICH I FIND HARD TO BELIEVE IN THIS TIME AND AGE WITH ALL THE TECHNOLOGY PROVIDED. I FIND THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD BE PRO ACTIVE IN ADDRESSING THIS REPAIR BEFORE ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN TO CAUSE POSSIBLE HARM OR EVEN CASUALTIES.
WHEN I ACCELERATE FROM A STOP SIGN OR FROM A STOPPED POSITION THE VECHICLE WILL REV HIGH AND NOT PICK UP SPEED. IT WILL STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION OR AS I AM DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MARCH 2016. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING STARTED, THE CAR ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FLICKERS UNCONTROLLABLY. ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD GOES OFF AND ON THE DIALS GOES UP AND DOWN. THE ENGINE SHACKS AS IT WOULD LIKE TO START BUT DOESN'T. IT WOULD TAKE UP TO 2 TO 3 TIMES TO RESTART THE CAR TO WORK PROPERLY. RECENTLY APRIL 2, 2021, AS I WAS DRIVING MAJORITY OF THE LIGHTS CAME ON, TRANSMISSION, PARKING BRAKE, ABS LIGHTS CAME ON. THE POWER STEERING IS NOT FULLY FUNCTIONAL AND THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT REACTING NORMALLY. AS I ACCELERATE DURING TGIS TIME THE TRACTION CONTROL SYMBOL FLASHES AND YHE CAR HAS DIFFICULTY PICKING UP SPEED. THE CAR HAS A INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TIME ACCELERATING. IF I WERE TO ACCELERATE TOO QUICKLY THE VEHICLE WILL REV HIGH AND THE FEARS WILL NOT CATCH PROPERLY.
ONE MINUTE THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL BE ON THEN THE NEXT IT WILL BE OFF. IT'S SOMETHING WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE EVERY TIME SOMEONE SITS THERE OR MOVE THE PASSENGER SEAT. IT CONTINUES TO GO ON AND OFF. I HAVE SEARCHED ON THE INTERNET FOR ANY RECALLS BUT DIDN'T SEE ANY. I DID NOTICE THAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS ON EITHER BOTH, OR JUST ONE SIDE OF THE CAR. IT'S NOT JUST ME HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED TO BE FIXED.
VEHICLE STALLING WHILE DECELERATING BUT RESTARTS.
ON A HIGHWAY WHILE ABOUT TO CROSS AN INTERSECTION THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF WHEN TAKING OFF. THE ENGINE HESITATES AND DIES WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS OR ANYTHING. TAKING AWAY POWER STEERING AND MAKING IT HARDER TO STOP DUE TO THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING.
IF THE CAR IS SITTING IN PARK WHILE THE CARD IS RUNNING IT WILL SWITCH TO NEUTRAL AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE COMES ON BY ITSELF
CAR IS STALLING WHILE MAKING TURNS. THERE IS NO INDICATION, NO WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD. THERE IS A WARNING ADVISORY THAT THE SAFETY PASSENGER BAG IS NOT WORKING
CAR STALLS LOSES POWER DIES IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS AND BUSY HIGHWAYS HAS VERY HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION NO LOW OIL INDICATOR LIGHT HAS EVER BEEN DISPLAYED I HAVE ALMOST LOST MY LIFE MY CHILDREN'S LIVES EVEN MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS LIVES DUE TO THIS ISSUE IT'S ALSO CAUSING ME LOTS OF EXTRA EXPENSES WHICH MIGHT I SAY HAVE GOTTEN VERY EXPENSIVE TIME AFTER TIME AGAIN REPLACING THE BURNT OIL ALL THE TIME TOW TRUCK FEES MECHANIC FEES HOTEL FEES PART FEES RENTAL CAR FEES ALL BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER OF THIS VEHICLE COULD CARE LESS THE SAFETY OF THE PEOPLE SHOULD ALWAYS BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYTHING ELSE POINT BLANK.

THE CONTACT'S SON INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT WHILE HE WAS DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE AIR BAGS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND AN AUDIBLE ALERT WAS HEARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GLENDALE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (10070 MANCHESTER RD, ST. LOUIS, MO 63122) AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS AN AIR BAG FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT RECALLS WERE VIN SPECIFIC AND THERE WAS NO RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR FAILS CAUSING HEAT TO STOP WORKING CAUSING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE CAR WAS MAKING A RADDLING SOUND THAN THE HEAT SHUT OFF THE CAR WAS STOPPED
AS I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 40MPH AND SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP SIGN, THE ENGINE DIED OUT. LOCKING MY BRAKES AND MY STEERING WHEEL. AT THIS VERY MOMENT THE GEAR D WAS BLINKING ON THE DASH AND TELLING ME TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS DISABLES AND THE IGNITION WOULD NOT START THE CAR UNTIL AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES AND MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THIS HAS OCCURRED A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IF IT OCCURRED WHILE I'M ON THE FREEWAY OR IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION.
THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON A COUPLE MONTH OUT OF NO WHERE AT FIRST IT WOULD COME OFF AND ON NOW IT'S ON CONSTANTLY

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER SON WAS CROSSING AN INTERSECTION AT 35 MPH, A DRUNK DRIVER RAN A RED LIGHT WHICH CAUSED HER SON TO T-BONE THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE CONTACT'S SON WAS TREATED AT THE SCENE FOR BRUISES TO HIS CHEST AND UPPER LEFT SHOULDER BUT HE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. THE WHEREABOUTS OF THE OTHER DRIVER WERE UNKNOWN AS HE WAS ARRESTED AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. DUE TO THE ACCIDENT, THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE AN ASSESSMENT ON THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER NOR THE DEALER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. DESPITE AN OFFICIAL ASSESSMENT, THE CONTACT CONSIDERED THE VEHICLE TO BE DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. *DT
ENGINE OIL LEAK
Wire connector under the passenger seat disables the airbag and turns on the SRS light with the code B0028-13 Right side Airbag circuit open. I have noticed that FCA is aware of the problem as the fix is to replace the wire Connectors under the seat. As an alignment mechanic I am in and out of a lot of vehicles and just about all of the 2015 to 2017 Chrysler 200s I have worked on have this code, some also have B0020-13 which is the left side seat air bag circuit open.
ENGINE STATED OVERHEATING. SOMETIMES WILL NOT START AND ACTS AS IF IT WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. I WAS TOLD THE ACTIVE GRILLE SHUTTER FAILED ON THE CAR AND HAVE ONLY HAD IT FOR 3 YRS. I SEE A LOT OF REVIEW ON THESE PARTS FAILING MEANING THEY WERE MADE POORLY. YOU DON'T KNOW IF THE VEHICLE IS GOING TO CUT OFF ON YOU WHILE YOUR DRIVING DUE TO THE AIR NOT BEING FILTERED TO THE ENGINE. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED THIS FAST.

THE CONTACT CALLED GOSSETT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 1901 COVINGTON PIKE, MEMPHIS, TN 38128, (901) 388-8989, AND MADE THE DEALER AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 41,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WILL LOSE POWER. DASHBOARD SAYS TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE, WHICH IT IS ALREADY IN DRIVE BECAUSE I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK, SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND RESTART THE CAR. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER I'M IN A PARKING LOT OR ON A MAIN ROAD IN TRAFFIC. FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED (A FEW WEEKS AGO) I WAS IN TRAFFIC ON A MAIN ROAD AND I HAD JUST STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. TODAY IT HAPPENED AFTER I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND STARTED TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPOT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY FOUND NO DEFECTS WITH THE VEHICLE. SOON AFTER THE INSPECTION, THE CONTACT THEN STATED THAT HER DAUGHTER HAD INFORMED HER THAT THE OIL AND THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD CALLED FERMAN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM ' WESLEY CHAPEL(24314 FL-54, LUTZ, FL 33559) WHERE THEY WERE INFORMED THAT A SERVICE MANAGER WOULD CALL THEM BACK; THE CONTACT HAD YET TO HEAR BACK FROM THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 21,000.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW OFF THE DEALERSHIP SHOWROOM IN SUMMER OF 2017. A COUPLE DAYS AFTER HAVING IT, I WAS DRIVING DOWN A STREET IN MY HOMETOWN AND THE VEHICLE JUST SHUT COMPLETELY OFF. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND BEGAN TO PANIC BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY 'FIXED' THE ISSUE. SHORTLY AFTER, WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN IN TRAFFIC AND TOOK A WHILE TO RESTART. EVERYTHING IN THE VEHICLE TURNS OFF. I AGAIN TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY 'FIXED' THE ISSUE. HERE WE ARE JUST LAST WEEK, 08/15/2020 AND I'M DRIVING ON A MAJOR THRU WAY AND THE VEHICLE CUTS OFF AGAIN. THERE HAVE NEVER BEEN ANY WARNING SIGNS, LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD/ REASON FOR ME TO BELIEVE SOMETHING WAS WRONG. MY VEHICLE BARELY HAS 50K MILES. AFTER LOOKING UP MY VIN TO SEE IF THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL (THERE ISN'T), I DID NOTICE THAT THE YEAR PRIOR (2015) SAME MAKE AND MODEL HAVE A RECALL FOR THE SAME ELECTRICAL ISSUE I'VE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT. THIS MATTER IS SERIOUS AS THE CARS TURNS OFF UNEXPECTEDLY AND COULD CAUSE A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT. I WILL UPLOAD MY PAPER WORK FROM THE DEALERSHIP THE FIRST 2X. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE VEHICLE SINCE 8/15/20 AS I'M AFRAID THAT SOMEONE WILL GET HURT. I'VE CALLED TO REPORT THE ISSUE AT THE 888 NUMBER LISTED BUT THE PHONE JUST HANGS UP. AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE I LIVED IN NIAGARA FALLS, NY AND PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM JOE CECCONI'S CHRYSLER COMPLEX. I CURRENTLY LIVE IN CHARLOTTE, NC WHERE THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT OCCURRED.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION GOING UP A HILL WHILE DRIVING TO WORK . THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SHUT OFF WHILE OTHER CARS WERE BEHIND ME . THIS HAPPEN AT LEAST THREE TIMES WHILE DRIVING TO WORK BEFORE I DECIDED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO CHRYSLER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK UP . DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT DECIDED TO GIVE ME A TUNE UP AFTER PAYING 600 DOLLARS TO FIX THE PROBLEM . SEVERAL MONTHS LATER I CONTINUED TO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE STALLING WHILE DRIVING. LATER ON CHRYSLER SERVICE TOLD ME MY ENGINE WAS SHOT DUE TO ANTI FREEZE IN THE ENGINE OIL COMPARTMENT . NOW I HAVE NO CAR AND A 6600.00 DOLLAR MAINTENANCE QUOTE TO GET A NEW ENGINE .

THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION SOON WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE HAZARD LIGHT ON AND COASTED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED BUT FAILED TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. AFTER WAITING FOR SEVERAL HOURS, THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER GRIFFIN'S HUB CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (5700 S 27TH ST, MILWAUKEE, WI 53221, 414) 253-3878) SEVERAL TIMES FOR SOFTWARE UPDATES TO THE TCM. ADDITIONALLY, THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 81,000.
WHILE IN MOTION THE PARKING BREAK CAN ENGAGE AT ANY SPEED AND IT'S PLACEMENT ON THE CAR ITSELF IS DANGEROUS AND JERKS THE CAR IF PRESSED WHILE MOVING THEREFOR COULD CAUSE EXTREME HARM. FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF, ANY OR ALL PASSENGERS, OR DRIVERS NEARBY, IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT IT NEEDS TO BE MOVED TO A LOCATION THAT ISN'T NOT EASILY REACHABLE AND ALSO NOT ALLOWED TO EVEN REMOTELY ENGAGE WHILE MOVING. I ONLY OCCURRED WHIPLASH AND MY FAST THINKING AND LUCK OF HAVING THE ROOM TO SLOW DOWN, BUT OTHERWISE IT IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS AND IT SHOULD NEVER ENGAGE U LESS THE BRAKES ARE BEING PRESSED AND DEFINITELY NOT AT SPEEDS UP TO OR OVER THE SPEED LIMITS.
SWITCHING THE GEAR KNOB WHEN TRYING TO PARK, IT SWITCHES BACK TO NEUTRAL.. HAVE TO TRY A COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE IT ACTUALLY SWITCHES AND GOES INTO PARK.
MY CAR WILL NOT RECOGNIZE MY KEY FOB. ALL THE LIGHTS IN MY CAR WILL LIGHT UP ON THE INSIDE BUT IT WILL NOT UNLOCK. IF I UNLOCK IT WITH THE ACTUAL KEY IN THE DOOR, THE ALARM WILL GO OFF. I WILL BE DRIVING AND MY CAR WILL NOTIFY MY THAT MY KEY FOB HAS LEFT THE VEHICLE WHEN IT CLEARLY HAS NOT. I HAVE HAD THE KEY FOB REPLACED AND CHANGED BATTERIES IN BOTH KEY FOBS THAT I OWN. IT ALSO WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO START IT. THIS STARTED IN JUNE 2020 WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN MAY 2020
CAR STALLS CUTS COMPLETELY OFF NO MATTER SPEED WHEN HAPPENS YOU CAN NOT OPERATE THE. VEHICLE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A 5 LANE FREEWAY WHERE MY CAR STALLED THEN DOES I HAD 2 STOP COMPLETELY THERE IN MIDDLE OF INTERSTATE PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK THEN TRY TO START MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE IT FINALLY STARTED AND 2 JUST DO THE EXACT SAME NOT EVEN A MINUTE LATER AND AS OF NOW THAT'S ALL THE VEHICLE WILL DO IT'S NOT DRIVABLE AT ALL UP TO DATE. *TR
SPARK PLUGS HAVE GONE BAD 3 TIMES SINCE I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN LITTLE OVER A YEAR. OIL CHANGES HAVE BEEN DONE REGULARLY. SPARK PLUGS SHOULD NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED UNTIL 100,000 MILES CAR HAS 66,500. *TR
AS I DROVE THE VEHICLE OFF THE LOT LOCATED IN MODESTO, CA I DROVE TO MY HOME ADDRESS WHICH IS LOCATED IN ANTIOCH, CA. ON MY WAY HOME THE CAR STARTED JERKING WHEN I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THEY WILL FIX IT AND TO DROP IT BACK OFF. THEY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 7 DAYS AND DID NOT FIX A THING BECAUSE THE VEHICLE CUTS OFF ANY POWER AND GAS CONTROL ON THE FREEWAY. *TR
SO I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO PUNCH IN A NUMBER AT THE CAR WASH AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE BRAKE DID SOMETHING BUT MY CAR STARTED ROLLING WHILE IT WAS IN DRIVE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE SO AND THEN THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD TO LIKE LITERALLY PUSH THE BRAKE ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOORBOARD AND I WOULD TAKE IT OUT OF GEAR AND IT WOULD JUST ROLL WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE SO I TAKE IT TO THE MECHANIC THE SERVICE CHRYSLER CENTER WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED AND THEY SAY IT'S THE BRAKE BOOSTER I WENT AND GOT A SECOND OPINION BECAUSE THE BRAKE BOOSTER RARELY EVER SOMETHING THAT NEEDS REPLACED ESPECIALLY ON A 2016 VEHICLE AND IF IT DOES IT'S ONLY ON VEHICLES THAT ARE OVER 150,000 MILES OR AN OLDER VEHICLE SO I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC TO GET A SECOND OPINION AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS THE VACUUM LINE TO BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE UPGRADED BC OIL IS LEAKING INTO BOOSTER AND THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD'VE DID THAT BEFORE IT WAS SOLD TO ME AND THAT IT SHOULD BE A RECALL AND IT'S GOING TO COST $717 WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD ESPECIALLY DURING THIS PANDEMIC BECAUSE I'M NOT AN ESSENTIAL WORKER AND I DO NOT RECEIVE UNEMPLOYMENT AND THERE'S ONLY 29,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE.
BOUGHT THE CAR USED IN MARCH OF 2019. IT IS NOW SPETEMBER AND I HAVE HAD TO CHANGE THE OIL 5 TIMES JUST TO KEEP THE CAR RUNNING. IT GIVES NO INDICATION OF LOW OIL. IF I WASN'T CHECKING THE FLUID LEVELS I MOST CERTAINLY WOULD NOT HAVE FIGURED THIS OUT.
BRAKES SQUEAK WHILE DRIVING AND TURNING
MY SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS COME ON SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST 3 YEARS OF ME OWNING THIS CAR. REGARDLESS OF BEING IN MOTION OR PARKED. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO A DEALER AND EVEN THEY SAID THEY RECEIVE THIS PROBLEM FAR TOO MUCH AND SAID I WILL HAVE TO COME BACK FOR THEM TO CLEAR THE CODE. OLEASE REPAIR THIS BEFORE IT COST MY LIFE OR SOMEONE ELSE'S.
I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT I NEED ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS DUE TO JERKINESS IN CAR. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH THE CAR SHUTTING OFF AT LIGHTS, OR ANY DRIVING SITUATION WHERE I MAY BE AT STANDSTILL WAITING TO PROCEED. EX: TRAFFIC CLEARING OR WAITING FOR PARKING SPACE. AT TIMES IT TAKE 3-4 TRIES BEFORE IT RESTARTS AND THERE IS NO WARNING THAT IT IS GOING TO CUT OFF. LASTLY, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS INSIDE CAR ARE UNSTABLE. THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF, THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION FOR PHONE ISN'T ALWAYS RELIABLE. OVERALL I AM DISAPPOINTED AND WISH I WAS IN POSITION TO TRADE IT IN. PLEASE ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO NOTE ISSUES THEY ARE HAVING AS WELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG SWITCH LOCATED UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT WAS NOT SECURED, WHICH CAUSED THE PLUG TO DETACH FROM THE WIRING HARNESS INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ROAD CONDITION WAS A FACTOR IN THE HARNESS BEING UNPLUGGED. ADDITIONALLY, THE HARNESS WAS ALSO UNPLUGGED WHEN A PASSENGER ENTERED OR EXITED THE VEHICLE. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
WHILE TRAVELING ON ROADWAY THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATES WITH THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY THE SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING MESSAGE AND THE VEHICLES IS SHUTDOWN BY THE PCM. TOTAL LOSS OF STEERING, POWER, AND CONTROL. THE VEHICLE TURNS OFF AND DISPLAYS A MESSAGE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK TO START. IT WILL NOT CRANK OR TURNOVER UNLESS YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND RESET IT. THE "SAFETY FEATURE" OF THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILURE IS TO KILL THE ENGINE COMPLETELY WITHOUT REGARD TO IT'S CURRENT STATUS OF TRAVEL AND MOVEMENT. OUR DEALER, EARNHARDT DODGE IN GILBERT AZ, HAS NO IDEA WHY THIS IS OCCURRING AND WANTS TO CHARGE $600 TO ATTEMPT TO DETERMINE WHY THE FUEL PUMP REFUSES TO ENGAGE WHILE THE SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING MESSAGE REMAINING. THIS IS ONE OF THE FIRST YEARS OF ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING IN THIS VEHICLE AND WE ARE BEGINNING TO SEE NUMEROUS OCCURRENCES ACROSS THE WEB OF THIS ISSUE WITH THE 200 HAPPENING AROUND 45K TO 60K MILES. OURS HAS 60K MILES. SINCE THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT APPEARS TO OCCUR A FEW YEARS INTO OWNERSHIP, DEALER MECHANICS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE CAUSE IS OR HOW TO REPAIR IT SINCE THEY HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH IT THUS FAR. IT IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE TO SHUT DOWN THE FUEL PUMP WHILE TRAVELING AT ANY SPEED AND SHUT DOWN THE ELECTRONIC CONTROLS RESULTING IN A "DEAD STICK" VEHICLE WITH NO WAY TO STEER OR BRAKE SAFELY. PLUS, ONCE YOU DO MANAGE TO GET THE ISSUE DIAGNOSED, NO "EXPERTS" ARE ABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT THE ORIGINATING ISSUE IS WITHOUT REPLACING TOTAL STEERING SYSTEMS AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. FROM A CONSUMER STANDPOINT THIS WILL SURELY BECOME AN INCREASINGLY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR DRIVERS IN THE CHRYSLER 200 AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROADWAYS. I PRAY SOMEONE LOOKS INTO THIS ISSUE THOROUGHLY AND CAN ASSIST THE PUBLIC AND OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES IN SECURING A RESOLUTION. *TR
