MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF WHILE IN MOTION. NOT WHILE AT A STOP OR WHILE SLOWING. I AM LITERALLY DRIVING ALONG AND THE CAR SHUTS OFF. I WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED BECAUSE OF THIS. I THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET IN FORWARD MOTION. IT HAS HAPPENED ONCE IN MID TURN. THIS ISSUE STARTED ON 1/24/2017 AND HAS OCCURRED EACH DAY 2-3 TIMES A DAY. *TR
SUDDEN LOSS OF ENGINE WHEN MAKING HARD TURNS THE CAR COMPLETELY DIES OUT AND LOCKS MY STEERING AND PUTS THE CAR INTO A FULL BREAK LOCK THIS LEADS TO ME HAVING TO TRY TO START MY CAR MULTIPLE TIMES THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS CONSIDERING THIS COULD BE FATAL WHEN IT DOES OUT I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR AND HAVE BROUGHT IT IN MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO FIX
MY CAR MAKES THIS LOUD NOISE WHEN THE ENGINE IS ON AND THE COOLANT METER REACHES ONE BAR ON THE SCREEN AND I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THE NOISE IS COMING FROM BUT ITS NOT NORMAL. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME ITS NOT A PROBLEM THE CAR IS SUPPOSE TO MAKE THAT NOISE BUT I DON'T REALLY BELIEVE HIM. THAT NOISE IS VERY LOUD
THE TRANSMISSION IS SWITCHING GEARS HARD LIKE IT IS SKIPPING A GEAR. SEEMS LIKE IT IS DOING IT BETWEEN 1 & 3 OR DECELERATING 3 TO 1. IT IS WORSE DURING WINTER MONTHS. THE JERK CAN BE SO HARD SOMETIMES.
I RECEIVED THIS CAR AS A RENTAL. THE REAR VIEW MIRROR IN THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD CANNOT BE ADJUSTED UP TO KEEP IT FROM BECOMING A FORWARD BLIND SPOT. EVEN WITH THE SEAT ADJUSTED ALL THE WAY DOWN, THE MIRROR COMPLETELY "HIDES" OTHER VEHICLES AT INTERSECTIONS. ALTHOUGH A "LOW TECH" PROBLEM, IT IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DESIGN DEFECT.
WENT TO A STORE WITH A HEAVILY SLOPED PARKING LOT. APPROXIMATELY 15 TO 20 DEGREES. PARKED CAR AND WENT IN SIDE, RETURNED TO THE CAR, STARTED, AND PLACED CAR IN REVERSE, LOOKED BEHIND ME FOR PEDESTRIANS AND NOTICE SOME PEOPLE DOWN A LITTLE WAYS.. PROCEEDED TO CAREFULLY PULL OUT OF THE SLOPPING PARKING SPACE IN REVERSE. APPLIED SLIGHT PRESSURE TO BRAKE PEDAL TO SHIFTED CAR INTO DRIVE. REMOVED FOOT FROM BRAKE TO APPLY FOOT TO GAS PEDAL WITH A LITTLE MORE PRESSURE THAN USUAL DUE TO THE SLOP, TO KEEP CAR FROM ROLLING BACKWARDS.. THE CAR KEEP ROLLING IN REVERSE DUE TO THE DECLINING SLOP OF THE PARKING LOT. CAR DID NOT ENGAGE INTO DRIVE AND THE ENGINE REVVED UP TO HIGH RPMS AND IF NOT FOR A FAST REACTION FROM ME RETURNING MY FOOT TO BRAKE AFTER REALIZING WHAT WAS GOING ON, I COULD OF EASILY RAN INTO THE PEOPLE THAT I NOTICED EARLIER. NOT GOOD! WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDDLE TO STOP THE CAR, THE CAR WENT INTO GEAR AND THE CAR SHOOK VIOLENTLY DUE TO THE HIGH RPMS. THE PEOPLE IN THE PARKING LOT WERE ALSO STARTLED. THIS IS THE PRIMARY CAR FOR MY WIFE AND I ASKED HER IF THE CAR HAS NOT GONE INTO GEAR BEFORE. TO MY ASTONISHMENT SHE SAID ONCE. THIS CAR NOW SITS IN THE GARAGE AWAITING THE CHRYSLER DEALER TO PICK IT UP 27,997 MILES. THIS KIND OF PROBLEM COULD EASILY DO HARMFUL BODILY INJURY TO A PEDESTRIANS OR MY WIFE. .
MY VEHICLE IS IN A COLLISION SHOP SINCE DEC. 19, 2016 FOR FRONT END REPAIRS. THE COLLISION REPAIR SHOP IS GERBER COLLISION & GLASS, 153 PA-100, FOGELSVILLE, PA 18051, IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THERE IS NOT A RECALL BUT A BACK ORDER ON A SUPPORT BRACKET PART # 68247600AA. CHRYSLER CORPORATION HAS NOT RECALLED THIS PART, HOWEVER THEY HAVE STOPPED PRODUCING THE ORIGINAL PART, AND ARE NOW RE BUILDING THE PART, AND THUS CLAIMING THE BRACKET IS NOT AVAILABLE TO ANY CERTIFIED CHRYSLER DEALERS AND CONSUMERS, AND THUS MY VEHICLE AND COLLISION MECHANIC HAS BEEN WAITING TO BE COMPLETE THE REPAIRS ON MY CHRYSLER 200S, AND WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION ON THE STATUS OF THIS PART, FROM CHRYSLER CORPORATION, OR AN ETS OF WHEN THEY WILL BEGIN SHIPPING THE SUPPORT BRACKET TO THE OVER 600 CONSUMERS, AND BUSINESS'S WAITING FOR THIS PART FOR THE SAME VEHICLE YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN SHOP SINCE DECEMBER 19, 2016, AND CHRYSLER CORPORATION IS NOT PROVIDING ME WITH ANY INFORMATION ON THE SAFETY OR STATUS OF THIS PART, AND FURTHERMORE THEY HAVE NOT ADDRESSED MY INVESTMENT IN THIS VEHICLE, WHICH I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY COMPENSATION FOR THE VEHICLE, AND HAVE NOT HAD MY VEHICLE FOR OVER 1 MONTH. THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE INVOLVED IN TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER IT IS A CHRYSLER CORPORATION ISSUE WHICH THEY ARE FAILING TO PROVIDE CONSUMERS AND BUSINESSES WITH INFORMATION AND OR THE STATUS AND SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE PART.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ALLEN SAMUELS CHRYSLER (1639 HIGHWAY 45 BYP, JACKSON, TN), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE PARKING BRAKE ERRONEOUSLY ACTIVATED. THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING AND CRASHED INTO A SECOND VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
DOING 25 MPH CAR ENGINE JUST STOPPED HAD TO DRIFT TO SIDE OF ROAD PUT CAR IN PARK AND RESTART.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND THE NEUTRAL, BRAKE PARK SYSTEM, AND AIR BAG INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL DEALERS, INCLUDING PETERSON TOYOTA (910-375-4996, LOCATED AT 4381 FAYETTEVILLE RD, LUMBERTON, NC 28358), BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURES. THE FAILURES RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT AN UNKNOWN WIRE WAS LOOSE. THE WIRE WAS WELDED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO HENDRICK CHRYSLER JEEP FIAT (910-676-7672, LOCATED AT 543 N MCPHERSON CHURCH RD, FAYETTEVILLE, NC 28303) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN RESET THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND THE WARNING INDICATORS WENT OFF. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AGAIN TWO DAYS LATER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO HENDRICK CHRYSLER JEEP FIAT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45.
VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. 2016 CHRYSLER 200 S WITH 2614 MILES...ENGINE WAS WARM. I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND LOST ALL POWER (ELECTRICAL), FOLLOWED BY ENGINE STALL BEHAVIOR, POWER LOSS, STALL BEHAVIOR, THEN TRANSMISSION KNOB LIGHT FLASHES "D" AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SAYS TO SELECT GEAR AGAIN. WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED AND/OR T-BONED BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. DEALER PERFORMED 4 FLASH UPDATES TODAY.
2016 CHRYSLER 200. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE STARTING HARD AND ROUGH, ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND FRONT PASSENGER DOOR SHUTTING HARD. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD MULTIPLE FAILURES INCLUDING THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGING ON IT'S OWN, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKING, WIRING SYSTEMS, THE AIR CONDITIONER AND TRANSMISSION RUPTURED. THE POWERTRAIN, CONTROL MODULE, COMPRESSOR, ETC CONDENSER WAS LOCKED. THE VEHICLE STARTS HARD. THERE WAS A KNOCKING NOISE ON START UP. THE TIRE CAME OFF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LURCH FORWARD. THE LOWER BALL JOINT FAILED. THERE WAS BODY A RIM DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE REPAIR SHOP FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE PROPERLY. *JS
WHEN I'M DRIVING THE CAR POWERS DOWN THEN POWERS BACK UP..THE CARS SCREEN RADIO AND SPEEDOMETER BOARD GOES BLACK AND THE CAR SLOWS DOWN..IT HAS ALSO DONE IT WHILE I WAS SITTING AT A LIGHT..THIS HAPPENED AT LEAST 20 TIMES SINCE I GOT THE CAR BUT IT DOES NOT READ ANYTHING IS WRONG WHEN IT IS HOOKED UP..IT HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET, IN MY DRIVEWAY AND WHILE I WAS PICKING THE CAR UP AT THE DEALER AFTER THEY COULDN'T GET IT TO DUPLICATE..IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN I'VE FIRST STARTED DRIVING AND AFTER I'VE DRIVEN THE CAR FOR AWHILE. *TT *TR
BOUGHT THIS 2016 CHRYSLER 200 S 4 CYCLINDER IN JULY 2016 WITH ONLY 4900 MILES ON IT. CAR WAS A DEALER PROGRAM CAR STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. TODAY, 8/22/2016 AT 6157 MILES THE CAR STALLED WHILE MY TEENAGE SONS (3 OF THEM) WERE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS TO SCHOOL (THIS IS THE CAR THEY DRIVE EVERYDAY). THE CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING THREE SEPARATE TIMES LOSING ALL POWER WITH A MESSAGE IN THE DASH READING "SHIFT TO P". ONCE SHIFTED TO PARK THE CAR DID START BUT ONLY AFTER MAKING AN ODD NOISE WHILE PUSHING IN THE IGNITION BUTTON. NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO HAVE A CAR LOSE POWER WHILE ON THE ROAD ESPECIALLY WITH NEW TEENAGE DRIVERS. BOUGHT THIS CAR IN LARGE PART BECAUSE OF ITS SAFETY RATINGS BUT THIS CLEARLY IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF SAFE. I WILL TAKE TO DEALER IN THE MORNING TO SEE WHAT THEY SAY. LOTS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT SAME ISSUE ALTHOUGH MOST SEEM TO BE WITH THE 2015 NOT 2016. NONETHELESS, HOW CAN ONE FEEL SAFE AGAIN PUTTING THEIR CHILDREN BEHIND THE WHEEL? NO IDEA WHAT CAUSED THIS ISSUE. THE DRIVETRAIN DOES NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY EITHER PARTICULARLY WHEN TRANSITIONING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE WHEN COMING TO COMPLETE STOP.
I HAD JUST FINISHED REVERSING TO ADJUST MY PARALLEL PARKING IN A RESIDENTIAL STREET. I PLACED THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON AND PUT THE CAR INTO "P". AFTER MY DAUGHTER GOT IN, I TOOK OFF THE HAZARD LIGHTS AND PLACE MY CAR ON "D". IN ORDER FOR ME TO CHANGE GEARS I HAVE TO PRESS DOWN THE BRAKE, AND AS I LET GO TO START DRIVING I FELT MY CAR DO A QUICK TWO "TUGS" AS I WAS GOING FORWARD AND INTO A DRIVE-WAY ON MY LEFT. WHEN I WAS TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, I FELT IT START TO GO STIFF TO WHERE I HAD TO TURN IT HARD FOR IT TO MOVE. THE CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN WHILE I PRESSING THE GAS, COMING TO A HALT BEFORE MY FRONT WHEELS COULD GO ON THE DRIVE-WAY. I PRESSED THE BRAKES BUT THEY WERE HARD WHERE I COULD NOT PRESS DOWN ON THEM AND I LET THEM GO. I PRESSED DOWN ON THEM AGAIN HOPING THEY WOULD WORK, BUT THEY WERE HARD. AT THAT POINT THE CAR SOUNDED LIKE IT TURNED OFF ON ME EVEN THOUGH THE SIGN ON MY IGNITION READ "RUN". I LOOK DOWN AND MY GEAR IS ON "D" BUT FLASHING ON AND OFF. AT THIS POINT I AM STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF A RESIDENTIAL STREET (SIDEWAYS) BECAUSE MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I LOOK AT THE SCREEN IN MY DASHBOARD AND ITS FLASHING SOMETHING ABOUT "SHIFT" AND THE BATTERY LIGHT IS ON. I WAS PANICKING SO I DID NOT FULLY READ WHAT IT WAS FLASHING AND FORTUNATELY WAS ABLE TO CHANGE THE GEAR TO "P" EVEN THOUGH I COULD NOT PRESS DOWN THE BRAKES BECAUSE THEY WERE VERY STIFF. I TURNED OFF MY CAR, AND RESTARTED IT. AT THAT POINT MY CAR WORKED LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. I KNOW MY CAR IN A WEIRD WAY TURNED ITSELF OFF BECAUSE MY A/C WAS NOT BLOWING COOL AIR ANYMORE (WINDSHIELD WAS STARTING TO FOG BECAUSE OF THE RAIN) UNTIL I RESTARTED THE CAR. I WILL SAY THAT A FEW MONTHS PRIOR MY "PARKING BRAKE" TURNED ON ON ITS OWN, AND I HAD MISTAKENLY THOUGHT I HAD DONE IT EVEN THOUGH I HAD NOT TOUCHED IT. I WAS ADJUSTING MY CAR INTO A PARKING SPOT AND HAD JUST CHANGED FROM "R" TO "D".
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AS THE FOOT BRAKE GAVE OUT. HE HAD TO STEP AS HARD AS HE COULD WITH BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE IN ORDER TO GET IT TO STOP. AT THE SAME TIME THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED ITSELF AND MADE DRIVING ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. YOU COULDN'T TURN IT OFF. AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR, THE BRAKES STILL WON'T WORK, BUT THE PARK BREAK WAS BACK TO NORMAL. IF YOU GET THE CAR TO A HALT AND PUT IT IN PARK, IT KEEPS ON DRIVING, AS SOON AS YOU DARE TO SLIGHTLY LET GO OF THE BRAKE. YOUR ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS CAR IS TO ENGAGE THE PARK BRAKE AND HOPE THAT IT GRABS. CAR IS AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO INFORMATION AVAILABLE, CHRYSLER IS CONTACTED. THIS IS FOR SURE SCARY, GIVEN THAT MY SON WAS IN THE CAR AS WELL.
EMERGENCY BRAKE HAS COME ON TWICE WITHOUT ME ACTIVATING IT----I SLOWED DOWN AT RED LIGHT, WENT TO PULL OUT AND COULD NOT BECAUSE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ON.
PURCHASED CAR APRIL 2016, INCIDENT ON OR ABOUT 12 JULY 2016. FOLLOWING IS HAND DELIVERED LETTER OF 22 JULY 2016 TO DEALER'S SERVICE MANAGER AND SALES MANAGER REGARDING THE PROBLEM: "ON A RECENT ROAD TRIP, I LEARNED THAT GOING DOWNHILL ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 65, THE VEHICLE'S TACHOMETER PEGS OUT AND THE SPEED INCREASES TO MORE THAN 85 MPH. THANKFULLY THERE WERE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME OR I WOULD HAVE PROBABLY COLLIDED WITH THEM, AT AT THAT SPEED WOULD HAVE PROBABLY BEEN KILLED. FORTUNATELY I HAD THE REFLECTS TO HIT THE BRAKE AND DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL. WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL DEACTIVATED, THE ENGINE REVVED TO A POINT I FEARED IT WOULD BLOW UP. AFTER SEVERAL VERY LONG SECONDS THE ENGINE RETURNED TO NORMAL. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND REMAINED IN THE CAR UNTIL I STOPPED SHAKING AND MY HEART STOPPED RACING." AFTER ONE WEEK HAVING NO RESPONSE I AGAIN WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NO ONE KNEW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. FINALLY I GOT THE SALES MANAGER TO READ THE LETTER. HE SAID HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, SEE THE SERVICE MANAGER, MORE OR LESS THE SAME. I THEN EMAILED CHRYSLER CORP VIA THEIR WEBSITE AND PROVIDED THE INFORMATION. RESPONSE WAS CORP REQUIRED THEIR TECH TO WITNESS THE DEALER'S ELECTRONIC DIAGNOSIS. BACK TO SVC MGR WHO CONTACTED THE TECH AND ARRANGED FOR TEST THE FOLLOWING WEEK. CAR IN MONDAY, READY FRIDAY. CORP TECH'S DETERMINATION WAS THE 9 SPEED HAD NO BRAKING FEATURE AND THE BEST ADVISE WAS TO USE THE BRAKE. BACK TO CORP WITH: "IT IS SO DISAPPOINTING AND REPREHENSIBLE TO LEARN THAT CHRYSLER IS ENDANGERING BUYERS OF THEIR PRODUCT BY KNOWINGLY DENYING RESPONSIBILITY FOR A FAULTY AND DEADLY DESIGN. AT THE OUTSET MY DEMAND WAS EITHER FIX THE PROBLEM AS I DO LIKE THE CAR, OR A TOTAL REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE. I RECEIVED NEITHER. MY ONLY RECOURSE IS A LAWSUIT, THAT WOULD LAST LONGER THAN MY MONEY.DO NOT BUY!
RIGHT FRONT AND LEFT FRONT SEAT UPPER AND LOWER WIRING HARNESS TO AIRBAG SYSTEM FAILING . AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE LIGHT COME ON AND OFF . DEALERSHIP WANTS 1000 TO REPAIR BOTH SIDE HAVE FIX DRIVE COULD NOT AFFORD THE RIGHT-SIDE.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MOTION THE VEHICLE HAS ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AND UNDER DIFFERENT CONDITIONS WITH DIFFERENT DRIVERS. THE VEHICLE SURGES FORWARD AND THE TACHOMETER JUMPS OVER 6 RPM. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY, THE ACCELERATOR WAS PRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND ALMOST RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES WITH NO CLEAR IDEA FROM THE TECHNICIANS AS TO WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST TIME IT WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT SPENT TWO WEEKS AND THEIR TECHS COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT A "BLACK BOX" RECORDING DEVICE BE INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE. THE DEVICE IS CUMBERSOME AND A POTENTIAL HAZARD TO DRIVERS WHO MUST TRY TO PUSH THE BUTTON ON THE DEVICE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE DUPLICATED THE PROBLEM AGAIN WHEN IT WAS GIVEN BACK. ON THE THIRD TRIP TO THE DEALER, THE BLACK BOX INFO WAS RELAYED TO CHRYSLER AND THE VEHICLE IS STILL SITING THERE AFTER A WEEK AND CHRYSLER TECHS HAVE ISSUED A DO NOT LET THE CUSTOMER BACK IN THE VEHICLE ORDER. BASICALLY, CHRYSLER HAS SEIZED MY VEHICLE, TO WHICH I AM STILL PAYING FOR, AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE IS THEREFORE CANNOT FIX IT. A COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED WITH CHRYSLER CORP.
I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR TO GO AND COULD NOT MOVE!! THE CAR REFUSED TO SHIFT! I LOOKED DOWN TO CHECK AND MAKE SURE IT WAS IN DRIVE AND IT WAS! I WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED, PEOPLE HAD TO DRIVE AROUND ME. IT TOOK AROUND 20 TO 30 SECONDS FOR MY VEHICLE TO SHIFT INTO GEAR AND MOVE FORWARD. WHILE TRYING TO MOVE FORWARD IT REVVED TO AROUND 5,000 RPM. I HAVE A CHILD WITH ME. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF SOMEONE REAR ENDED US? I KNOW CHRYSLER HAS NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSIONS TO THESE VEHICLES AND I AM SORRY BUT THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE ROAD WITH PROBLEMS LIKE THIS!!

THE GEAR SHIFT CAN BE EASILY AND ACCIDENTALLY KNOCKED INTO REVERSE PARK OR NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING AND WJRHOUT NEEDING TO APPLY BRAKE. I WAS DRIVING AND MY CELLPHONE SLID OUT OF THE CELLPHONE MOUNT AND HIT THE KNOB AND THREW MY INTO PARK WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT HIGH 60 MPH I WAS FAST ENOUGH TO MOVE IT BACK OVER TO DRIVE BUT IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THIS TYPE OF THING HAS HAPPENED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION I ACCIDENTALLY PUT IT IN REVERSE WHILE DRIVING THINKING I WAS MOVING THE FAN KNOB DOWN AT NIGHT WHILE DRIVING. ALSO MY FRIENDS SON PUT MY CAR INTO PARK WHILE ADJUSTING THE TEMPERATURE AS WELL. YOU SHOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO MOVE THE GEARS SO EASILY OR IN REVERSE OR PARK WITHOUT BRAKE OR PUSHING THE KNOB DOWN OR SOMETHING TERRIBLY UNSAFE!! WE HAD ONLY HAD OUR 2016 CHRYSLER 200S FOR AROUND 3 WEEKS. WHILE HEADING HOME TRAVELING EAST ON STATE RT 149 FROM WEST FRANKFORT, IL., WE HEARD A LOUD THUMP LIKE SOMETHING JUST HIT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF OUR CAR. WE PULLED THE CAR OFF AT THE CHURCH JUST 1 BLOCK DOWN THE ROAD, GOT OUT AND LOOKED TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED, NO ANIMALS HAD HIT THE CAR, NO OBJECTS WAS LAYING IN THE ROAD, AND NO ONE WAS MOWING, BUT WE HAD A STRAIGHT GASH WITH A DENT IN THE SIDE OF OUR REAR PASSENGER DOOR. IT WAS GETTING CLOSE TO DUSK AND I THOUGHT SOMETHING CAME OFF THE CAR. THE NEXT MORNING I FINALLY NOTICED THE PASSENGER FRONT WHEEL HAD THE LUG NUT MISSING AND THE STUD WAS GONE. THE RIMS CLEAR COAT IS SCRATCHED WHERE IT FELL OFF AND SLUNG BACK AND HIT THE SIDE OF OUR CAR. I CALLED OUR LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER AND COME TO FIND OUT IT HAD BOLTS NOT STUDS. I HAD THEM ORDER ONE FORM ME. I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER WHAT THE CORRECT TORQUE WAS FOR THE BOLTS, INCASE ANY OTHERS WERE LOOSE. HE SAID,"103 FT/LBS". I CHECK THE TORQUE THE REST OF THE LUG BOLTS AND COME TO FIND EVERY FRONT ONE WAS LOOSE. 1 MORE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND 2 ON THE DRIVERS SIDE TOOK NEARLY A 1/4 TURN TO REACH TORQUE. THE REST OF THE FRONT BOLTS WERE AROUND 1/8 TURN FROM BEING TORQUED. I ONLY FOUND 1 ON THE REAR THAT WASN'T CORRECTLY TORQUED. I HAVEN'T SEEN BOLT LUGS ON AN AMERICAN CAR IN ALL MY LIFE. I HAD THE DEALER INSTALL THE NEW BOLT AND HAD HIM DOUBLE CHECK THE TORQUE ON THE OTHERS. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM. I ALSO CALLED THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM AND DROVE IT DOWN FOR HIM TO GET PICTURES AS WELL OF THE DAMAGE. THE DEALER CONTACTED THE REGIONAL SERVICE MANAGER AS WELL ABOUT THE PROBLEM. TODAY CHRYSLER SUPPORT SAID THEY ARE NOT GOING TO FIX THE DAMAGE, BECAUSE ITS NOT A WARRANTY COVERED ISSUE.OUR LAST 15 MODEL 200 WAS BOUGHT BACK BY CHRYSLER, BECAUSE OF ALL THE PROBLEMS.
I HAVE NOTICED THAT MANY NEW LED HEADLIGHTS ARE OUT AND WITHOUT EXCEPTION, THIS IS ON NEW CHRYSLER VEHICLES. I NOTICE THIS SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. I OBSERVED ONE HEADLIGHT GOING OUT AS THE SIGNAL WAS ENGAGED. THIS FACT MAKES ME THINK IT IS A GROUND PROBLEM BUT I AM NOT SURE. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

A FEW TIMES PULLING OUT INTO THE TRAFFIC THE CAR WOULD FAIL TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, SOME TIMES WHILE DRIVING THE CAR SEEMS AS IF ITS DYING OR LOOSING POWER. IT IS ALSO RATTLING WHEN I CRANK IT UP. THE OTHER THING IS THAT THE TRANSMISSION WHILE ACCELERATING SEEMS TO TAKE A WHILE TO SWITCH GEARS AND THEN THE CAR JERKS REALLY HARD WHEN IT FINALLY SHIFT GEARS. I'VE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY JUST SAID THAT THEY CHECKED IT AND CANT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BUT THAT THEY HAVE HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS BUT THAT "ITS JUST THE FACT THAT THE CAR IS A 4 CYLINDER." IT'S VERY SCARY PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC.

PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ROUGHLY 30 DAYS AGO WITH ONLY 4 MILES ON IT AT TIME OF PURCHASE. AT 800 MILES I BEGAN HEARING NOISES COMING FROM THE BRAKES. AFTER THE DEALER INSPECTED AND SERVICED THE VEHICLE, THEY COULD FIND NO ISSUES OR ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. AT 1100 MILES, THE BRAKES WERE STILL MAKING NOISE AND FINALLY OUT OF NOWHERE WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKES LOCKED UP ON ME NEARLY RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS OCCURRED AFTERWARDS ON 2 OTHER OCCASIONS, ONCE WHILE DRIVING AS AND AGAIN ANOTHER TIME WHEN SWITCHING OUT OF REVERSE. I ALSO NOTICED AT TIMES THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD GONE NEARLY TO THE FLOOR, WHICH WAS ALSO OF CONCERN. THE VEHICLE WAS IMMEDIATELY DROPPED OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP AND I HAVE NOW HAD A RENTAL VEHICLE FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS WITHOUT ANY RESPONSE FROM THE DEALERSHIP WHATSOEVER. I WILL BE FILING A CLAIM FOR LEMON LAW, AS I HAVE NOT EVEN MADE MY FIRST CAR PAYMENT YET. TAKATA RECALL, THIS NEW CAR IS A 2016 200S WITH5000 MILES. THIS CAR CAUSED A ACCIDENT ON 02/09/16 WHEN THE FRONT BRAKES LOCKED UP AT 50 MILES AN HOUR. SENDING THE DRIVER INTO A LIGHT POLE. WHEN THE VEHICLE HIT THE POLE THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY FROM THE STEERING. THE AIR BAGS OVER ALL DOORS DID DEPLOY AND THE AIR BAGS ON THE SIDE OF THE FRONT SEAT DID DEPLOY BUT NEVER THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG. THE BRAKES ARE FAULTY AND HAVE GONE ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKE. BY PUMPING THE BRAKES THE BRAKE WOULD WORK. WHEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED THE DRIVER PRESSED THE BRAKE TO TURN A CORNER BUT RATHER THAN THE VEHICLE SLOWING DOWN THE BRAKES LOCKED DOWN IN FRONT AND SENT THE VEHICLE ACROSS THE ROAD INTO A LIGHT POLE.
THEREALLY IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WITH THIS CAR. MY CAR JERKS EVERYDAY WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND IT HESITATES. I TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND WAS TOLD IT IS SUPPOSED TO DRIVE LIKE THAT UNTIL THE CAR IS ADJUSTED TO MY DRIVING STYLE. ALSO, ONEW DAY I WAS DRIVING AND OUT OF NOWHERE IN LOSE TOTAL POWER IN THE CAR. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. I HAVE A 7 YEAR OLD WHO RIDES WITH ME EVERYDAY. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE.

THE BRAKES ON THIS CAR WHILE BACKING UP MADE AN AWFUL NOISE FROM DAY 1. I THOUGHT AT FIRST IT WAS NORMAL. THOUGHT IT WAS JUST NEW BRAKES THAT HAD TO BE BROKEN IN. THEN I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG BECAUSE WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE MY BACK BRAKES WERE LOCKED AND WOULDN'T RELEASE. LOOKED DOWN TO SEE IF I HIT THE E BRAKE, THAT WAS NEVER THE CASE. THE BRAKES IN REAR HAVE LOCKED UP SEVERAL TIMES AND EVERY TIME IT WAS BACKING UP AND PUTTING IT IN DRIVE. I HAD A 2015 WITH THE SAME ISSUES AND WAS REPLACED BY THE LEMON LAW WITH A 2016 AND NOW EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. DEALER OPENED START CASE WITH CHRYSLER BUT CURRENTLY HAS NO FIX FOR THESE CARS. DEALER ALSO STATED DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE ROTORS/BREAKS CAUSES THE SQUEALING/LOCKING NOISE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IN CASE THE BREAK DECIDE TO LOCK UP OR NOT WORK, CURRENTLY WAITING FOR MORE "REPAIRS".
