NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2005 Chrysler 300. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V352000 (Air Bags); however, after retrieving the vehicle the following day, the vehicle experienced several failures while driving. The A/C was inoperable, the vehicle was running rough, the check engine warning light was flashing, and the vehicle almost stalled while coming to a stop. Additionally, the contact became aware that there was a hole in the fuel tank. The dealer was notified of the failures, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The manufacturer followed up with the dealer, and the contact was later informed that no assistance would be provided because the failures were unrelated to the recall, as per the dealer’s assessment. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 106,272.
Hello, I am worried about the problem that persists for more than 5 years that the car is in my possession, my 2005 Chrysler 300c, it is always the same problem when I fill the fuel tank, the car does not want to start, I have to wait at least 10 minutes at the pump trying several times to start it again, this occurs at an intersection, at a traffic light, and even while in traffic, endangering my life and the lives of other drivers, please I need help!!!!
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2005 Chrysler 300C. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 105,000 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that in 2021 the mileage was 144,000.
Hello, my name is [XXX] , and my car continues to have the same problem for more than 5 years that it has been in my possession, after refilling the car completely with fuel, the car automatically turns off and this happens at a traffic light or anywhere, this is very dangerous since I interfere with traffic, please I do not know what to do to solve it, in many forums there are many 2005 Chrysler vehicles that have the same problem from the factory, please I need help. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The vehicle began to shutter in reverse. This went on for about a week. Transmission fluid level was checked and it was in the normal range. My husband and I were driving it and made a sharp turn to find us in a spot to continue forward and go off a cliff or back up and get out of traffics way. He backed up and we heard a clunk. The car continues to drive forward with no issues but it acts as of it’s in neutral when you put it in reverse. No codes are showing either.
Fuel sending unit cracks which lets raw fuel pool directly under backseat.
This is a serious safety concern regarding the shift interlock system on my 2005 Chrysler 300. When the vehicle is in Park, particularly in traffic, and the light turns green, I am forced to lift the coin attachment and manually press the pink interlock just to change gears or accelerate. This creates a dangerous situation where I am unable to move the vehicle promptly, potentially leaving me vulnerable to a rear-end collision. The issue stems from Recall 05V462000, which specifically addresses a shift interlock defect that Chrysler has failed to address despite my repeated attempts to have it repaired. Chrysler has not taken any action to resolve the recall issue, leaving me in a potentially life-threatening situation every time I drive. It is unacceptable that this recall has not been acted upon, and this critical safety defect must be corrected immediately.
The fuel sending unit is poorly manufactured and cracks and leaks raw fuel directly under the back seat.
my engine blew, transmission is slipping. I’m having electrical and air bag problems.
The fuel tank gasket failed. When fuel car to full the gas seeps out and puddles on top of access area under rear passenger seats and fills car with gas fumes. Only seeps out when you fill car to full
When the fuel tank is topped off the vehicle stalls 2-6 times until the excess fuel is burned off. This has happened on the road, in parking lots, intersections, etc. It causes total loss of power & power steering. Additionally, I usually have to shift to Park, Neutral, Reverse, Drive, Reverse, and then drive again in order to get the transmission to lock back in forward gearing. Causing me to have to additionally pull over, or stop, when/wherever the incident occurs.
The contact's mother owns a 2005 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while her mother was driving approximately 10 mph, the air bag deployed without a crash or impact. The driver sustained a fractured finger and medical attention was provided. The contact called the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated the failure was due to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V313000 (Air Bags). The manufacturer was notified but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 190,366.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while the mother was driving at approximately 10 mph when suddenly the driver-side air bag erroneously deployed. During the incident, no crash had occurred and the vehicle had not driven over a pothole or bump in the road. The driver sustained a left-hand injury which included three fractured fingers. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The vehicle was towed away and examined by the manufacturer's engineer. The cause of the failure was not explained but the contact was informed that the manufacturer took no responsibility for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 190,000
Strong fuel smell in cabin and outside of car when gas tank is full. Discovered gas in the cabin sitting on top of the fuel tank under the passenger-rear seat. Multiple posts in online forums confirm this is a known issue. Vehicle owner ordered a new o-ring to attempt repair. Area around fuel pump under driver's-rear seat was not affected. No warning lights, notices or performance issues. Only indication is strong gas fumes in car after filling up the gas tank (auto shutoff at pump, not topped off) which persists for several days. Problem seems minimized if gas tank is shorted 2-3 gallons from max capacity on fillup (about 14 gallons when car is close to empty per the gas gauge in dashboard.) Car was not inspected by dealer, insurance agent, police, independent service center, or anyone else other than owner.
Car keeps stalling after I fill it up while driving and sometimes while in park
ENGINE STALLS AFTER FUELING TANK. THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY AN INDEPENDENT SERVICE CENTER. SPENT MONTHS AND LOTS OF DOLLARS TRYING TO FIX PROBLEM. DID RESEARCH ON INTERNET AND FOUND CHRYSLER HAD ISSUED BULLETIN 14-002-14 SHOWING THERE A PROBLEM WITH CHRYSER 2005 AND 2006 300'S STALLING. THE FUEL PUMP IS IN THE TANK AND NOT MONITORED BY ENGINE COMPUTER. THE FUEL PUMP HAD GONE BAD CAUSING THE CAR TO STALL. CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THAT THE BULLETIN DID NOT COVER MY MODEL. CAN NOT USE CAR NOW BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. NEED HELP ON THIS ISSUE.
Gas tank hairline crack on fuel pump and bad gaskets.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler 300. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the front passenger’s side air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated there was no recall for the failure. The failure mileage was 19,641.
Reverse gear went out after vehicle slipped once, acted as if in neutral when in reverse and pressing gas pedal down but would not move. Had local towing and mechanic shop in Gower Missouri check transmission fluid level in which was found to be a quart low on transmission fluid. Car had been extremely well maintained and all recommended maintenance services completed by previous owners. Able to drive car in all other gears, codes p0007 code appear with no check engine light or any type of warning or indication that a problem was present within my 2005 Chrysler 300 3.5l v6 rwd car with the 42rle transmission My vehicle also has issues occur suddenly regarding front end suspension has death shake and very loud clinking popping banging noises while driving at all speeds. Steering wheel has a weird squeek/creeking noise when turning the wheel at times and feels like steering is loose. Tie rod end and sway link bar on front passenger right side of vehicle is bent opposite direction it is supposed to and car also has higher rpm than normal and shifting at higher rpms. Went into limp mode twice which I reset myself due to having an emergency where I had to drive it. With the suspension and steering issues it causes a safety risk due to sway link and tie rod end breaking causing vehicle to crash and wheel to detach from vehicle. Transmission gear loss due to transmission fluid leaking and gear linkage issues causes safety risk due to the event of reversing to move out of the way and to avoid potential harm to passengers (my 5 young children) within the vehicle in the event the vehicle can't move from the place parked. The vehicle is available to be inspection and has been checked out by 3 different mechanic shops located in Gower, saint Joseph, and Savannah Missouri all in which stateed verbally that low fluid due to leak somewhere from transmission and poor linkage components within gear solenoid and possible pcm and mil issues to be at fault of vehicle mufacture
Our 2005 Chrysler 300 stalls and will not restart for many minutes after we refuel it. Chrysler stated they have extended the warranty to a life time coverage if you are experiencing this issue you are able to get it covered under said warranty. We have contacted them and they state this one is not covered. How can we go about getting this covered. It obviously has the issue they have recalled and should be covered!! Thank you, Shannon Hainzlsperger
PARK LOCKOUT MECHANISM BROKEN ON 2005 CHRYSLER 300C VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN I DISCOVERED THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK
COULD NOT GET GEAR SHIFT OUT OF PARK. WE TOOK APART CASING, FOUND THE PINK PLASTIC BROKE. LOOKED AT YOUTUBE TO FIX. ORDER PART ON AMAZON. THE PLASTIC PIECE IS NOW MADE OF METAL!!
EVERY TIME I FILL MY GAS TANK UP THE CAR OIL LIGHT COMES ON AND IT STALLS. SOMETIMES IT DOES THIS 2 OR 3 TIMES THEN IT RUNS OK UNTIL ITS TIME TO FILL CAR UP AGAIN, THEN THE SAME THING HAPPENS.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light would remain illuminated. Occasionally the lights on the dashboard and inside the vehicle would randomly blink off and on. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. During the diagnostic test, the electrical fuses continued to malfunction. No further information was available. The manufacturer was not yet notified. The failure mileage was 137,000.
AFTER I REFUEL MY CAR, IT ALWAYS SMELLS LIKE GAS INSIDE THE CAB. I RECENTLY LOOKED TO SEE WHERE IT IS COMING FROM, AND FOUND IT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BACK SEAT. THE TRANSFER PUMP HAS A PUDDLE OF GASOLINE ON THE BACK SIDE OF IT. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE THIS MAKE AND MODEL CAR ARE ALSO EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE.
WHEN REFUELING MY CHRYSLER 300C BACK TO FULL CAPACITY IT WILL IMMEDIATELY STALL OUT AND SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THE CAR WILL START RIGHT UP AGAIN NO PROBLEM, AND CONTINUE TO STALL OUT WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC MULTIPLE TIMES FOLLOWING UNTIL IT BURNS OFF ENOUGH FUEL TO STOP. I ALSO HAVE BEEN SMELLING RAW GASOLINE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEM VARIES. THE ODOR IS HIGHLY POTENT COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR. NEVER WITNESSED ANY FLUID LEAKING UNDERNEATH THE CAR OR NOTICEABLY IN FUEL TANK GAUGE UNTIL THIS MORNING, IT WAS LEAKING OUT FROM THE TRIM PANEL UNDERNEATH THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE .
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY VEHICLE DIED. NOW IT DOES EVERY TIME I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE STEERING MAKES A CLICKING NOISE WHEN I TURN
DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT DOES NOT WORK. WE HAVE CHANGED THE BULB , EVEN TRIED ONE THAT DID WORK FROM THE LEFT SIDE . ON BLOGS PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE , THEREFORE I WONDER IF OTHERS HAVE REPORTED IT LIKE MYSELF . THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS STAYING ON AS WELL .
EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS FILLED WITH GAS, THE ENGINE STALLS OUT NO MATTER WHERE IT IS BEING DRIVEN. HYW OR STREET/CITY ROAD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SHUTOFF WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHEEL LOCKED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE GREENWAY DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 9051 E COLONIAL DR, ORLANDO, FL 32817, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT AN UNKNOWN PART WAS DAMAGED IN THE DASHBOARD WITH THE IGNITION AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY A RELATIVE THAT AN AIR BAG WAS REPLACED IN 2018 HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE AIR BAG REPAIR WOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,000. *LN THE CONSUMER STATES THAT VEHICLE IS INOPERABLE AND DANGEROUS TO TO DRIVE. *AS
GAS TANK LEAKS. NO HOLES, CAR STALLS LOSES GAS TANK LEAKS CONTUINLY WAS CHECKED FOR HOLES NONE WE COULD SEE. SMELLS LIKE GAS ALL THE TIME. CAR HAS 101.000. MILES
IN THE BEGINING MY CAR STALL AFTER FILLING THE TANK UP WITH GAS. IT WOULD STALL AT LOW IDLE LIKE FOR INSTANCE WHEN I COME TO A STOP. BUT IT ALSO HAVE DONE IT WHEN I'VE BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS TO ME AND EVERYONE AROUND ME. ESPECIALLY ON A MAJOR CITY HIGHWAY LIKE ATLANTA. I;VE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS RESOLVE SINCE EARLY LAST YEAR.
GASOLINE SMELL INSIDE CABIN TRACED TO THE GAS PUMP/SENDING UNIT LOCATED BELOW THE FLOOR MAT DIRECTLY BENEATH THE REAR PASSENGER-SIDE SEAT. A 1/2" DEEP PUDDLE OF GAS FORMS AT THE REAR OF THE UNIT WHICH REAPPEARS AFTER BEING SOAKED UP.
WHENEVER I DO A QUICK ACCELERATION, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR TEMPORARILY LOSE POWER. WHEN THE CAR LOSE POWER, I CANNOT CONTROL IT, WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON NO CODES ARE STORED. ALSO, I HAVE EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM WHILE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT. FOR THE MOST PART, THIS PROBLEM MOSTLY OCCUR DURING ACCELERATION. I HAVE HAD THE SPARK PLUGS REPLACED AND THROTTLE BODY CLEANED BUT THE PROBLEM PRESIST. FROM MY RESEARCH, THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE REGULAR THROUGHOUT THE CHRYSLER/DODGE FAMILY. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED BEFORE SOMEONE LOSE THEIR LIFE IN AN UNNECESSARY ACCIDENT.
My 2005 Chrysler 300 has been having an issue with the fuel tank. When you get fuel in it then it won’t stay started. It keeps stalling out repeatedly. It also stalls out randomly under 25mph. Both are dangerous as it may cause you to get T-boned leaving gas station as it repeatedly stalls. Also it stalled out on the freeway on-ramp under 25mph. This is also dangerous as you lose your steering at the same time. Someone could have been injured or killed. And Chrysler needs to take this more seriously than they did just with the 2005 300c. It’s happening to more models of that year as well. Their offered remedy was telling me not to fuel it all the way up anymore past 3/4 of a tank. A dealership confirmed it needs a full fuel tank replacement and has had it since Memorial Day. They still have it currently. Chrysler told me and the dealership I’m on my own after treating me horribly most of the time on the phone calls with customer care center as I was jumping through hoops for them over and over for around 2 months. Whenever I get someone kind and helpful they won’t let me speak to them again. I have this all written down. And will get the estimate when I get my car back. But I don’t have $2800 ($2000 alone is just the fuel tank) to fix this on my own. Especially not when there is a known issue. Fuel tanks just don’t break and need full replacement as a common issue in vehicles. But Chrysler says my vehicle is too old. Which they knew the year of my vehicle when I called in the first place. And they know there is a known issue which is why they have lifetime fuel tank replacements on others of the same year. It’s too bad they weren’t pushed to do a total recall rather than just a safety bulletin. It left the rest of us that end up having issues with the fuel tanks in danger. It’s not just coincidental. It’s been acting up for awhile and I couldn’t find anyone that had ever heard of this until the Chrysler forums. It got worse in 2020 to present. Thank you.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS STAYING ON. HAVING A HARD TIME PUTTING CAR IN AND SOMETIMES OUT OF PARK. SEAT BELT ACTS LIKES IT DONT WANT TO FASTING ON DRIVERS SIDE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SWITCH GEARS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED OUT OF PARK AND WAS DRIVEN TO MARK'S CASA CHRYSLER JEEP (9733 COORS BLVD NW, ALBUQUERQUE, NM). THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE SHIFTER LOCK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,108.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE INTERIOR LIGHTING FLASHED ON AND OFF. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 164,000.
I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY, UNDER 10 MILES PER HOUR, WHEN IT JUST UP AND DIED ON ME. TRIED TO RESTART, BUT WOULD NOT. LET IT SIT FOR 5 MINUTES, PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL AND HELD IT HALF WAY DOWN AND VEHICLE STARTED. BUT WOULD NOT IDLE. TRIED TO HOLD PEDAL AND PUT IT IN DRIVE.TO LIMP IT HOME, BUT DIED WHEN ENGAGING DRIVE. LONG STORY SHORT, IT WONT START OR RUN UNLESS YOU GIVE IT GAS, WILL NOT IDLE IN PARK, NEUTRAL, REVERSE OR DRIVE, AND THERE HAVE BEEN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS. THAT BEING SAID, I'M ASSUMING SOMEONE HAS TO DIE IN AN ACCIDENT, MAYBE SEVERAL LIVES LOST BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY. YOU PEOPLE DO REALIZE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN AN ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING YES? LOSS OF BRAKES FOR THE MOST PART, POWER STEERING, ACCELERATION, THE LIST GOES ON...NOW PUT SOMEONE BEHIND THE WHEEL THAT DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO REACT. BUT I GUESS Y'ALL MISSED THAT PORTION OF THE CLASS, OR YOU JUST DONT GIVE A [XXX]. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIIVING 30MPH ALSO WITH FULL WILL JERK AND STALL
WHILE GETTING ON THE FREEWAY, AT APPROX. 50 MPH THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO NEXT GEAR. RPM WAS 4500-5000 (AS THOUGH POSSIBLY STUCK IN OVERDRIVE). I DECELERATED HOPING IT WOULD COMPUTE THE NEED TO SHIFT. IT DIDN'T. I TRIED ACCELERATING SLOWLY AND STILL DIDNT SHIFT. I SLOWED DOWN, PUT EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON AND TOOK THE NEXT EXIT 1/4 MILE OR LESS AWAY. SINCE THE LIGHT WAS RED AT THE EXIT , I TRIED PUTTING CAR INTO PARK AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE TO SEE IF IT WOULD ('RESET'), INSTEAD THE SHIFT SELECTOR WAS STUCK IN PARK. LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I COULDN'T GET IT IN DRIVE, COULDN'T MOVE. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT FINALLY WENT INTO DRIVE. WHEN I GOT OFF WORK, SAME THING...STUCK IN PARK. AFTER 4TH TRY, I WAS ABLE TO GET IT IN REVERSE, THEN INTO DRIVE. I MADE IT HOME WITHOUT GETTING ON FREEWAY, PARKED THE CAR 3 DAYS AGO AND HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT SINCE THEN. THE CAR WAS ALREADY SCHEDULED FOR RECALL REPAIRS AT DEALERSHIP FOR TOMORROW. HOPEFULLY I CAN GET IT THERE. (I BOUGHT THIS CAR A WEEK AGO)
PARKING BRAKE WONT ENGAGE/LATCH/HOLD. PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT WONT 'CLICK' IN PLACE OR HOLD
II OWN A 2005 300C WITH 1001,500 MILES. I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR RUNNING OUT OF GAS WHEN THE GAGE WAS STILL SHOWING GAS IN THE TANK WILE DRIVING IN CITY STREETS, AND ONCE IN HIGHWAY. LUCKILY I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER IN TWO OCCASIONS OF THIS OCCURRENCE. FINALLY THE TANK WAS REPLACED AROUND 2014. AFTER THAT, I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS COMPLAINING THAT AFTER FILLING MY TANK WITH GAS THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF FUEL. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. FINALLY IN OCTOBER 2019. I TOOK CAR BACK AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A CRACK ON THE AT TOP OF FUEL TANK PUMP HOUSING R/H, AND GAS WAS LEAKING FROM THE ATTACHING RING AND THE RUBBER HOSE AND ACCUMULATING ON SOME CAVITIES AT TOP OF PUMP. THE DEALER QUOTED ME ABOUT A THOUSAND DOLLAR FOR THE JOB, AND NEEDED KEEP MY CAR FOR 3 DAYS. I GOT A SECOND OPINION AND WAS TOLD THIS HAS BEING HAPPENING FOR A LONG TIME. I EVENTUALLY HAD THE CAR REPAIRED AT THE SECOND LOCATION FOR LESS THAN $450 DOLLAR INCLUDING PARTS, AND THE WAS CAR FIXED IN 4 HOURS NOT 3 DAYS AND A THOUSAND DOLLARS. ALSO! I HAD AN INCIDENT WERE THE FACTORY BATTERY IN THE CAR EXPLODED IN THE TRUNK OF THE CAR WILE I WAS DRIVING. APPROXIMATELY 2011.
VEHICLE WAS PARKED BUT UNABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK DUE TO A BROKEN INTERLOCK RETURN SPRING HOOK AS DESCRIBED BY CHRYSLER IN HTTPS://CHRYSLER.COM/WEBSELFSERVICE/PDF/K39.PDF CHRYSLER SAYS MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED EVENTHOUGH IT IS THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL AS DESCRIBED IN THE LETTER
HAVE AN CHRYSLER 2005 300 C AND WITH THE PROPER CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE. THE VEHICLE'S PAINT HAS DEFECT'S WHICH REQUIRE A FULL BODY PAINT JOB. THIS VEHICLE IS IN PERFECT CONDITION. OTHER THAN THE PAINT AND THE TURN SIGNAL WAS WORKING FINE UNTIL THEY REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG. NOW, THE TURN SIGNAL HAS AN MALFUNCTION. THE PAINT ISSUE WILL REQUIRE AT THE UTMOST $5,000.00 IN REPAIR TO THE CAR OWNER TO WHICH INSURANCE DOESN'T COVER. IF THERE WAS A DEFECT WHICH CAUSE THE CLEAR COATING AND THE PAINT TO "NOT LAST " THIS ISSUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED PRIOR TO DATE. THE MERCEDES PAINT LAST LONGER THAN THE YEAR'S WE'VE OWNED THIS VEHICLE.
THE SHIFT WON'T WORK IT'S STUCK ON PARK AND I SAW THE K39 NOTIFICATION WHICH KIND OF EXPLAINS WHAT HAPPENED AND WE HAVE ALREADY TRIED TO UNLOCK IT WITH THE PINK BUTTON AND THE CAR TURN ON GOOD AND EVERYTHING.
THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REBUILT 3 TIMES IN THE PAST 8MONTHS .. IT JUST OUT OF NO WERE WITH NO WARNINGS WILL STOP GOING IN TO FIRST GEAR. MOSTLY ON A STOP. THEN STEP ON GAS IT WON'T GO IN TO FIRST GEAR ANY MORE. IT DID DO IT ONE WHILE ON THE FREE WAY. EVERY SINGLE TIME IT HAS DONE THAT IT HAS TO GO TO THE SHOP BECAUSE IT WON'T WORK ANY MORE. *TR
