TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT BECAME STUCK AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT HAD TO PHYSICALLY REACH DOWN AND PULL THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL UP. THE DEALER (CULLMAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 300 BENCHMARK WAY, CULLMAN, AL 35057) STATED THAT AN APPOINTMENT HAD TO BE SCHEDULED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED, BUT WAS UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2005 CHRYSLER 300 THE THROTTLE BODY CONTROL LIGHT ON THE DASH COMES ON.AND THE CAR STARTS RUNNING RUFF LOOSES POWER AND SPEED TILL IT COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. I HAVE REPLACEED THE THROTTLE BODY AND THE MAIN COMPUTER WITHOUT ANY CHANGE. MY MACHANIC SAYS THE PROBLEM IS IN THE WIRING HARNESS. THEY CONTACTED THE DEALER ABOUT GETTING A NEW WIRING HARNESS AND WAS THOL THE WIRING HARNESS WAS DISCONUED AN THEY NO LONGER MAKE WIRING HARNESS FOR THIS CAR +AND THAT IT COULDN'T BE REPAIRED.
ACCELERATOR PEDAL GETS STUCK ON CHRYSLER 300 C AND CAR KEEPS ON ACCELERATING. EVEN WHEN SLAMMING THE BRAKES THE CAR KEEPS ACCELERATING. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM. WE CALLED CHRYSLER TO REPORT THE INCIDENT AND THERE IS NO RECALL OR SOLUTION PROPOSED. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM SINCE THE CAR HAS A 5.7 LITER ENGINE AND ACCELERATION CAN BE VERY FORCEFUL. PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE HURT BECAUSE OF THIS. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR SIMILAR PROBLEM ON OTHER VEHICLES FROM THE CHRYSLER COMPANY BUT NOT FOR THAT VEHICLE.

THE GAS PEDAL IS NOT RETURNING BACK AND I HAD TO CONTROL THE SPEED OF THE CAR WITH BRAKE AND ALSO BY LIFTING THE GAS PEDAL WITH MY RIGHT FOOT. AT ONE OCCASION I HAD TO PUT THE GEAR TO NEUTRAL TO AVOID AN IMPACT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT.

AFTER LEAVING MY VEHICLE PARKED IN A GARAGE AT THE VERIZON CENTER IN WASHINGTON, DC FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS. I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED TO EXIT THE GARAGE. AS I LEFT THE PARKING SPACE THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A VERY LOUD NOISE AS IF THE ENGINE WERE GOING TO FALL OUT. I DEPRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR BOARD. I WAS GOING UP AN ON RAMP AND THE VEHICLE COASTED BACKWARDS. . LUCKILY THERE WAS A OPEN SPACE THAT MY VEHCLE COULD SAFELY BACK INTO. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. MY VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED APPROXIMATELY 2 DAYS LATER DUE TO IT BEING PARKED IN A BUSY GARAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE IN THEY ADVISED ME THAT THE THROTTLE WAS NOT OPENING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY CLEANING MY THROTTLE BODY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 114,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE BRAKED PEDAL REPEATEDLY, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THEN THE CONTACT PLACED HER FOOT UNDERNEATH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO RELEASE THE STICKY PEDAL WHICH THERE WAS NOT A RESPONSE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY AND THE GEAR SELECTOR WAS SHIFTED INTO THE PARK POSITION THAT ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.

THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND TOLD THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. SHE RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP SHORTLY AFTER THE FAILURE.
