THE FUEL TANK LEAKS FUEL INTO THE CABIN AMY ANY TIME THE TANK IS FILLED MORE THAN HALF WAY UP; THAT OR ANY TIME IT IS MORE THAN A QUARTER FULL AND DRIVEN ON A STEEP HILL. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT 7 OR 8 YEARS OR MORE NOW...IT STARTED IN AROUND 2012 I THINK, WHEN THE CAR HAD JUST OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT. I AM NEVER ABLE TO FILL UP MY GAS TANK BECAUSE OF IT. , AND IF I NEED TO GO UP OR DOWN A STEEP HILL (AND THERE ARE STEEP HILLS AND DRIVEWAYS ALL OVER THE AREA I LIVE IN), THE FUEL LEAKS INTO THE CAR AND THE FUMES ARE VERY STRONG.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the transmission shifter seized in park(P) and failed to shift to drive(D) or reverse(R). The contact stated that the vehicle was undrivable. After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the gear shifter operated normally. The contact stated that over time the failure became progressively worse and more frequently. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 05V460000 (Power Train). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 80,000.
7/11-5/12, I TOOK MY 2006 300C HEMI INTO MY DEALERSHIP FOR MY CAR STALLING AFTER I HAVE DRIVEN IT PAST 1/4 TANK THEN FILL IT UP. I WAS TOLD DIFFERENT REPAIRS WAS CAUSING THE ISSUE. ON 5/4/12 I GOT AN ANSWER IT WAS MY FUEL TANK. MY WARRANTY RAN OUT 12/10 THE DEALER WANTED $1500 TO REPLACE THE TANK. I CONTACTED CHRY CORP EXPLAINED WHAT I HAD BEEN DEALING FOR THE LAST 10 MOS. I DIDN'T HAVE MONEY TO REPAIR. CHRY OFFERED TO HELP HAD ME PAY A DEDUCTIBLE OF $245. MY MILEAGE WAS ABOUT 57,000. I WAS THANKFUL FOR CHRYSLER HELPING ME OUT. IN 2013 THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE FUEL TANK. I CALLED CHRY CORP AGAIN AND THEY SAID YES IT IS A RECALL & OFFERED TO REFUND ME BACK FOR THE DEDUCTIBLE I PAID. NOW IN 2020 MY CAR IS DOING THE EXACT THING, (125K MI) WANTING TO STALL/DOES STALL AFTER I RAN PAST 1/4 TANK, THEN FILL IT UP. I TOOK MY CAR TO MY PRIVATE MECHANIC, HE TOLD ME THIS IS A RECALL TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID MY VIN # WAS NOT ON THE LIST. I CALLED CHRY CORP EXPLAINED WHAT I WAS EXPERIENCING. THEY TOLD ME THEY DO NOT TAKE 3RD PARTY DIAGNOSIS, I NEEDED TO TAKE IT TO A CERTIFIED CHRY DEALER. I DID AND THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS MY FUEL TANK! CHRYSLER CORP SAID THERE'S NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME MY VIN# DOES NOT QUALIFY, BESIDES THE WARRANTY EXPIRED! ON THE FORUMS I READ SAID THIS RECALL IS A LIFETIME RECALL. I SENT MY WORK ORDERS TO BOTH DEALER & CORPORATE AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID MY FUEL TANK WAS NEVER REPLACED JUST FUEL PUMP. ALL THESE YEARS I NEVER LET GAS TANK GET LOWER THAN 3/4 TANK, IT WAS A HABIT FROM MY PRIOR PROBLEMS. UNTIL 9/14/20 I RAN MY GAS PAST 1/4 TANK AND FILLED UP. AS SOON AS I WAS DRIVING ON SIDE STREETS WHEN I WOULD COME TO A STOP AT A SIGNAL AND START TO GO. MY CAR WOULD DO THE EXACT SAME THING AS 2011-2012! SENDING ALL MY INFO I WAS STILL DENIED BY CHRYSLER TO FIX FUEL TANK RECALL!! PLEASE HELP, TO REPAIR NOW IT'S $2500!!!

I WENT TO THE GAS STATION, 2-ISH MILE DRIVE AND CAME BACK HOME. ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER WE DECIDED TO GO SEE MY MOTHER IN LAW, 34 HIGHWAY MILES AWAY. COOL, SO WE GO, EVERYTHING IS FINE, BEASTIE (THAT'S THE NAME OF MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300), IS RUNNING GOOD, MY HUSBAND AND 3YR OLD ARE JAMMIN OUT TO METALLICA, AND WE GET TO MY MOTHER IN LAWS HOUSE.. STAY A COUPLE HOURS AND DECIDED TO HEAD HOME.. SO WE SAY BYE ECT ECT.. WE GET ABOUT 9.5 MILES DOWN OUR 34 MILE RIDE HOME... AWW CRAP, THERE IS A TRACTOR ON THE ROAD, SO WE GO TO PASS HIM... OR SO WE THOUGHT... MAKE SURE COAST IS CLEAR, TURN ON BLINKER AND STEP ON THE GAS PETAL MORE FIRMLY.. OK IN THE OTHER LANE.. AND BAM!! CAR DIES IN MOTION AT 60 MPH!! MY HUSBAND JUST CASUALLY SAYS "HEY BABE, I THINK THE CAR JUST DIED" AND I LOOK LIKE "HAHA WHATEVER" AND I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT.. SO WE PULL OVER AND TRY TO GET IT STARTED, HAD MY MIL COME JUMP US.. AN HOUR LATER AND WE STILL DON'T HAVE BEASTIE STARTED.. NO CLICKING, NO NOTHING.. SO UNFORTUNATELY BEASTIE HAD TO SIT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD UNTIL THE NEXT DAY... THE NEXT DAY WE GOT HER TOWED TO MY MILS HOUSE... THAT WAS 3 DAYS AGO... AND BEASTIE STILL HASN'T STARTED UP FOR ME...
WHEN I FUEL MY CAR TO FULL I START TO DRIVE AND IT STALLS AND WILL NOT RESTART. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT IS DUE TO A FAULTY GAS TANK WHICH IS COVERED UNDER A LIFETIME WARRANTY EXTENSION U.S. D-14-05. THEY ALSO SAID THAT IT IS POSSIBLE THAT WHEN THEY REMOVE AND REPLACE THE TANK THAT THE EXHAUST FLEX PIPES COULD BREAK WHICH WOULD REQUIRE THEM TO HAVE TO REPLACE THE PIPES AND THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS THEY ARE ATTACHED TO. THE ESTIMATED COST OF THIS WOULD BE $3,300 AND THEY WOULD NOT COVER THIS COST. THIS WOULD MEAN THAT THROUGH NO FAULT OF MY OWN IF THE WARRANTY WORK IS DONE AND THE DEALERSHIP BREAKS THE FLEX PIPES I WOULD BE REQUIRED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR OF THOSE PIPES AND RELATED PARTS. THIS IS RIDICULOUS, WHY WOULD I HAVE TO PAY FOR PARTS, WHICH ARE FINE NOW, BUT COULD BE BROKEN BY THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THEY DO THE WARRANTY WORK? IF YOU ARE GOING TO EXTEND A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THIS DEFECTIVE PART THEN WHY WOULD YOU NOT COVER THE WORK AND LABOR NECESSARY TO FIX THE PROBLEM ESPECIALLY IF THERE ARE PARTS BROKEN BY THE DEALERSHIP WHEN DOING THE WORK? THERE SHOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL COST COVERAGE FOR ALL WORK DONE THAT IS NECESSARY TO FIX THE PROBLEM NOT JUST THE PART AND WORK TO REPLACE IT AS LONG AS EVERYTHING GOES PERFECTLY. IF PARTS ARE BROKEN BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHEN DOING WARRANTY WORK THEN THOSE PARTS AND THE LABOR TO REPLACE THEM SHOULD ALSO BE COVERED. I AM ATTACHING THE INVOICE FROM THE DEALERSHIP SO THAT YOU CAN SEE THE PROBLEM IN THEIR WORDS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! WHY WOULD ANYONE HAVE WARRANTY WORK DONE IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THE WARRANTY WORK THAT ARE NOT COVERED. IT DOES NOT SAY THAT THESE PIPES ARE DEFECTIVE OR WORN IT JUST SAYS THAT THEY MIGHT BREAK WHEN DOING THE COVERED WARRANTY WORK. *TR
THE TEMPERATURE READING IS RUNNING TOWARD HIT. I WAS TOLD THAT THE RADIATOR FAN IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO KEEP THE RADIATOR COOLED OFF. I LOOKED ONLINE AND SAW THIS IS HAPPENING IN MOST CARS THIS MAKE MODEL AND YEAR. I HAVE TO STOP DRIVING THE CAR FOR A WHILE TO LET THE CAR COOL OFF. THIS IS HAPPENING IN MOTION ON THE STREET AND HIGHWAYS. *TR

I WAS DRIVING AT 70MPH 2:30 AM ON THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT RIGHT BEFORE A CURVE THE HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF DUE TO THE MAIN COMPUTER 'TPIM'.IN ESSENCE IT KILLS ALL AUTO FEATURES IMMEDIATELY INCLUDING THE HEADLIGHTS. IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS JUST LOOK ON SOME OF THE FORMS ONLINE. I'M UPSET BECAUSE MY WIFE COULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE CAR AT THE TIME. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE SENSE IT'S AN ISSUE WITH THIS CAR IN GENERAL. THEY ALSO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE LIFTERS DUE TO THE POOR QUALITY OF THE LIFTERS ROLLERS AND THE MDS SYSTEM.

CAR SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY, STALLING, I WAS ALMOST HIT FROM BEHIND. NOW IT WON'T EVEN START. EVERY ISSUE IS RELATED TO THE FUEL ISSUE RECALL. BUT MY BECAUSE MY VIN ISN'T INCLUDED, I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS. YOU GUYS AREN'T PERFECT AND MISSED ADDING MY CAR TO THE RECALL.

UPON INSPECTION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CYLINOLD SPRING ATTACHMENT WAS FAULTY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MANUALLY ADJUST THE BROKEN PIECE AND DROVE TO THE LOCAL DEALER NAPOETON CHRYSLER.(140 E. OSCEOLA PKY, KISSIMMEE FL) WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
TRANSMISSION IS SOMETIMES SHAKING WHEN GOES INTO CERTAIN GEARS. TRANSMISSION POPS OUT OF GEAR RANDOMLY. AND I HAVE TO STOP GO INTO NEUTRAL THEN BACK INTO GEAR. MY FRIEND HAS THE SAME CAR AND SAYS HE HAS THIS PROBLEM TOO. SOMETIMES IT WILL RANDOMLY DOWNSHIFT OR UP SHIFT WHEN IT SHOULDN'T. *TR
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler 300C. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle occasionally lost motive power. The contact stated that the failure also occurred while the vehicle was idle. After each failure, the contact was able to restart the vehicle after several seconds. The vehicle had been taken to several dealers and independent mechanics for diagnostic testing however, the mechanics were unable to determine the cause of the failure. Several unknown repairs were made, and several parts were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact researched and found that similar vehicles were experiencing failure. The manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.
CAR CONTINUOUSLY DIES OR STALLS WHILE DRIVING. MY WIFE HAS ALSO BEEN ALMOST REAR ENDED OR HIT MULTIPLE TIMES DUE TO THIS ISSUE. BECAUSE THE CAR WILL DIE WHILE MAKING A TURN OR AT A STOP LIGHT. THE CAR WILL ALSO CUT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 75 MPH. THE CAR WILL SOMETIMES DIE AND WILL NOT RE-START LEAVING HER STUCK IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES TO THE DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS OTHER MECHANICS AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME ITS THE PCM WHICH HAS BEEN REPLACE THREE TIMES.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 148,061.

TWO VISITS TO DEALER FOR PROBLEM. P0700. REPLACED ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY. ROUTING OF ALTERNATOR WIRING CLAMPED TO VALVE COVER. TOUCHING VALVE COVER. BEFORE CHANGING ALTERNATOR. WIRING WAS ROUTED OUTBOARD OF OIL DIPSTICK TUBE. WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE ON 01/07/2020. LIMP MODE. UNABLE TO DRIVE VEHICLE OVER TWENTY MILES PER HOUR.
CAR IS LOSING POWER AND WON'T TURN OVER WHEN TRYING TO START. AFTER A FEW HOURS IT WILL START AND RUN FINE UNTIL YOU TURN IT OFF AGAIN. NEW STARTER, NEW BATTERY, NEW ATERNATOR WIRES FIXED. DEALERSHIP DOESN'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH CAR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V352000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, WHILE HER SPOUSE WAS ATTEMPTING TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE RECALL REMEDY, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK EVEN AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN NOR TOWED TO BE DIAGNOSED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT WILL OUT OF NO WHERE WITHOUT WARNING SHUT OFF ON YOU. YOUY LOSE ALL POWER. I WAS ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND WITH LOSS OF POWER WAS HARD TO GET THE CAR TO RIGHT EDGE OF ROAD AND WAS ALMOST HIT BY A SEMI TRUCK. I HAVE REPLACED ON ADVICE OF CHRYSLER THE FUEL TANK, FUEL PUMP, NEW PCM AND NEW TCM AND THE VEHICLE STILL SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING. IT THROWS TWO CODES U0100 AND P0700. U0100 IS LOST COMMUNICATIONS AND P0700 IS TRANSMISSION FAULT. THESE ARE TWO GENERIC CODES AND THE P0700 IS JUST A SIMPLE AS THE TRANSMISSION GOING INTO LIMP MODE WHEN ENGINE STALLS. CHRYSLER DEALERS/SERVICE CENTER DON'T KNOW WHATS CAUSING THIS, BUT YOU LOOK ALL OVER THE INTERNET THERE IS 1000'S OF THE SAME COMPLAINT AND NOTHING BEING DONE TO HELP. I EVEN CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY LIED THAT THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE. IT IS EFFECTING CARS FROM 2005-2006 AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. MY GIRLFRIEND HAD HER KIDS IN MY CAR AND WAS USING IT AND IT STALLED OUT AND SHE WAS ALMOST RUN INTO AT 9PM AT NIGHT BECAUSE OF THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND SHUTTING OFF. VEHICLE STALLS WHEN MOVING AT LOW SPEEDS AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK. THE FUEL SHUTOFF FLOAT IN THE FUEL TANK IS STUCK OPEN, CAUSING AN OVERFILL CONDITION.
CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING AND ONE TIME AFTER REFIRING THE ENGINE, THE SHIFTING OF GEARS WAS AWKWARD. DEALER CHANGED OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. DID NOT HELP.
WHILE DRIVING CAR IT WILL LOSE POWER AND SHUT OFF. IT WILL DO THIS A COUPLE OF TIMES THEN RUN GOOD. I CHANGED OUT ENGINE RECENTLY AND PUT NEW COILS AND SPARK PLUGS IN AND A NEW PCM AND IT HAS STARTED AGAIN. IT WILL JUST SHUT OFF AND HAVE TO KEEP RESTARTING. I ASKED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAY THEY NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BUT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF SAME COMPLAINT ALL OVER THE INTERNET. AGAIN CAR HAD ISSUE WITH ORIGINAL ENGINE, NOW HAS NEW ENGINE AND SAME PROBLEM CAR SHUTTING OFF OR LOSSING POWER CONSTANTLY. THERE IS APPROX 600 MILES ON NEW ENGINE AND SAME PROBLEM HAS COME UP
EVERYTIME. I FEEL MY CHRYSLER 300 UP. IT SHUTS OFF ,STALLS FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. THEN EVERYTHING IS NORMAL. NOTE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS COULD BE JUST DRIVING AND IT'LL JUST SHUT OFF. CAN YOU CAUSE AN ACCIDENT? THIS IS HAPPENING TO ME AT LEAST SIX TO EIGHT TIMES SO FAR BEGINNING IN JANUARY.
WHILE DRIVING CAR RANDOMLEY HAS M0MENTARY LOSS OF POWER. THERE IS A BELL SOUND AND THEN THE CAR RESTARTS, BUT IT DROPS OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL AND SOMETIMES HAS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, OR OTHER DASH LIGHTS. USUALLY LIGHTS CLEAR UPON RESTART. THIS HAS HAPPENED FROM NOV 2019 TO PRESENT.
MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300 DIED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER FILLING THE FUEL TANK ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT DATES. IT WAS VERY SCARY, THIS OCCURRED MOST RECENTLY ON 11/27/19
AFTER FILLING THE CAR WITH GAS, THE CAR STARTS WITHOUT ANY ISSUES AND DRIVES OFF WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. AS THE CAR SLOWS DOWN WHETHER STOPPING OR TURNING THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF. IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN THE CAR VEERS INTO THE OTHER LANE BECAUSE THERE IS NO POWER STEERING. THE CAR HAS TO STOPPED BEFORE IT CAN BE RESTARTED. ALSO IF YOU ARE ENTERING THE INTERSTATE AFTER REFILLING WITH FUEL, THE VEHICLE WILL REACH THE DESIRED SPEED WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC, AFTER MERGING INTO TRAFFIC AS SOON THE DESIRED SPEED IS REACH AND THE MOTOR SLOWS, THE CAR MOTOR WILL SHUT OFF IN TRAFFIC. THIS SCENARIO WILL CONTINUE UNTIL SOME GAS IS BURNED OUT OF THE GAS TANK. AFTERWARDS THE CARS RUNS FINE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THEY DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE INSPECTION BECAUSE THEY COULD FIND ANYTHING WRONG.
AUTO SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY IN TRAFFIC. WHILE IN MOTION, JUST DIED.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THE ABS HUB (COMPLETE AXLE) DUE TO RUST/ROTTING. WHEN THE ABS RING RUST OR ROTS, THE ABS MODULE BECOMES CONFUSED AND ACTIVATES INTERMITTENTLY. I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKES LOCKED INTERMITTENTLY CAUSING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I STOPPED THINKING THAT IT WOULD RESET SOMETHING BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I HAD TO TAKE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP ONCE AGAIN AND NOW I'VE HAD TO PAY OVER $1,000 FOR THE REAR AXLES AND NOW $1,000 FOR THE FRONT. AXLES HAVE TO BE REPLACED EACH TIME. THESE RINGS SHOULD NOT SIMPLY ROT AND CAUSE A DANGEROUS SITUATION!
THE MANUFACTURER MADE THE SHIFT INTERLOCK LATCH OUT OF PLASTIC AND IT BREAKS WHEN YOU PUT THE CAR IN PARK IT WILL STICK IN PARK LEAVING YOU STRANDED.
MY CAR SHUTS OFF EVERY TIME I FILL MY GAS TANK. I CRANK IT, PUT IT IN DRIVE. AS I'M DRIVING, MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES IN TRAFFIC. AT RUSH HOURS.
EVERY TIME YOU FILL THE VEHICLE WITH GAS, THE CAR DIES SHORTLY AFTER FUELING WITH OUT ANY KIND OF WARNING. AFTER YOU DRIVE A LITTLE WAYS AND BURN SOME OF THE FUEL FROM THE TANK, THE CAR RUNS FINE. THE DRIVER HAS NO WARNING AND THE CAR HAS TROUBLE STARTING AFTER IT DIES. I WAS ALMOST IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT BECAUSE I PULLED OUT OF THE GAS STATION AFTER FILLING WITH FUEL. I WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND THE CAR DIED. THE CAR IS QUITE AND I DIDN'T REALIZED THE CAR DIED. I JUST KEPT PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDDLE UNTIL I OBSERVED THE RPM GAUGE WAS ON ZERO. I HAD NO WARNING. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED WITH LOW MILEAGE. I THOUGHT IS WAS A ISOLATED INCIDENT, BUT SADLY WAS WRONG. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME YOU FILL IT UP WITH GAS AND MAY DIE ONCE OR SEVERAL TIMES. THERE ARE NO PRE-WARNINGS FOR THE VEHICLE STALLING. ALL ACCELERATION, POWERS STEERING, AND POWER BRAKES WERE GONE WITH OUT WARNING. A QUICK SEARCH ON THE INTERNET REVILED THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE GAS TANK DESIGN AND CHRYSLER HAS NOT STEPPED UP TO FIX THIS. CHRYSLER SAID THE ONLY FIX IS A NEW FUEL TANK AND THEY ARE ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. CHRYSLER ALSO CHANGE THE DESIGN OF THE FUEL TANK IN LATER MODELS BECAUSE OF THE DEFECT PLEASE HOLD THE MAKER ACCOUNTABLE FOR DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATENING DEFECT.

THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ADVISED HIM TO CALL NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.

HAS ONLY HAPPENED WITH A PARTIAL TANK OF GAS-NEVER WITH A FULL TANK - REMAINING MILEAGE HAS BEEN BETWEEN 75 AND 123 MILES LEFT. HAS ONLY HAPPENED AT SLOW SPEED. DEALER HAS WORKED ON IT 4 TIMES EACH TIME CLOSING TICKET AS FIXED EXCEPT FOR THE LAST TIME . HAVE TALKED TO SERVICE DIRECTOR ABOUT PROBLEM WITH NO RESULTS. VEHICLE HAS 123000 MILES.

CHECK FUEL LIGHT COMES ON BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT. DEALER HAS WORKED ON IT 3 TIMES AND REPLACED PARTS BUT IT HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. THEY REALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LOCK/RELEASE IN THE LEVER FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,524.
When fuel tank is filled beyond 3/4 of a tank the engine stalls. I've been in many scary situations where this happened. I bought a new car because I was scared to drive this one. Upon learning there was an issue I contacted my local dealer who said a new fuel tank would be ordered and I would be contacted the next week to have it installed. 2 weeks later I contacted them and was told they had to diagnose the problem. After discussing the issue the dealer assured the tank was being ordered. Hopefully the problem will be fixed with the replacement tank - it remains to be seen. Why is this not a recall? It is a safety issue when a car stalls while being driven. Age of the vehicle should not be a factor - this car only has 66,000 miles. I am the original owner
