MY CAR HAS BEGUN TO STALL AT VARIOUS TIMES AND UNANNOUNCED. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE PULLING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, ONTO HIGHWAY FROM ON RAMP. MY ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON. I AM ABLE TO START THE ENGINE AGAIN DRIVE FOR SOME TIME THEN UNANNOUNCED IT HAPPENS AGAIN. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND ONE THAT WHEN I RESEARCH THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND NO FIX OTHER THEN A SUGGESTED REPLACEMENT OF FUEL TANK AT $2000. THIS SEEMS TO BE PREVALENT WITH THIS CAR AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR DEATH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE GLASS FROM THE SUN ROOF SHATTERED CAUSING TINY SHARDS OF GLASS TO FALL INTO THE VEHICLE AND ONTO OTHER MOTORISTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT NO CAUSE FOR FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE 100,000.
VEHICLE STALL AFTER FUELING UP. *TR
MY WIFE DRIVES THIS VEHICLE. EVERY TIME SHE FILLS IT UP WITH FUEL, THE CAR STALLS IN TRAFFIC 2-3 TIMES IMMEDIATELY AFTER SHE DRIVES AWAY FROM THE GAS STATION. IT WILL HOWEVER RESTART AFTER A FEW MINUTES. SHE HAS HAD SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS THAT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. AT LEAST ONCE SHE WAS DRIVING THROUGH A CURVE WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED, DISABLING THE POWER STEERING WHERE SHE WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE TO A SAFE STOP. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY WIFE'S FAULT BECAUSE SHE MUST BE OVERFILLING THE TANK. THEY TOLD ME TO TELL HER TO LET THE FUEL PUMP NOZZLE SHUT OFF THE FUEL WHEN THE TANK WAS FULL AND NOT PUT IN ANY ADDITIONAL FUEL AFTER THAT. WELL WE TRIED THIS AND IT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE. THEN I CARRIED IT BACK TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD SINCE FOUND OUT FROM CHRYSLER THAT THIS WAS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE FUEL TANK ISSUE AND THE ONLY FIX WAS TO REPLACE THE TANK AND ASSOCIATED PARTS AT A COST OF APPROX. $2000. IF CHRYSLER KNEW THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS DEFECTIVE, IT SHOULD BE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. CHRYSLER SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH THIS. IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED IF THEY HAVEN'T ALREADY! PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A SECOND VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE CONTACT LATER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
GAS PEDAL ASSEMBLY BROKE OFF IT'S MOUNTING. COULD NOT ACCELERATE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS UNABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I TURNED MY IGNITION ON TO WARM MY VEHICLE BEFORE GETTING IN TO TRAVEL. I WARMED THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT TWENTY OF TWENTY FIVE MINUITES. I CAME OUT AND PUT SOME BELONGINGS INTO THE VEHICLE AND WENT BACK INSIDE OF MY OFFICE FOR ABOUT ANOTHER FIVE MINUTES. WHEN I RETURNED TO GET INTO MY VEHICLE, IT HAD JUMP INTO REVERSE AND WAS GOING BACKWARDS INTO TRAFFIC. THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC DODGED THE VEHICLE BY GOING AROUND IT. IT FINALLY LANDED INTO A DITCH OF WATER. LOTS OF WATER DAMAGE, AND DAMAGE TO THE BODY. NO ONE WAS HURT, BECAUSE NO ONE WAS IN THE VEHICLE. MAY VEHICLE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE. I HAD NEVER HAD ANYNEED FOR MAJOR REPAIRS. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEFAULT, MALFUNCTIONING AND DAMAGE DONE TO MY VEHICLE? I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT IN RECALL, THEREFORE THEY ARE NOT ACCOUNTABLE. *TR
VEHICLE STALLED ONCE WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 20 MILES AN HOUR THEN ONCE WHILE STARTING FROM A STOP SIGN, IT SHUT OFF ALL SYSTEMS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I WAS DRIVING ALONG @ 45MPH APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT AND THE 5.7L HEMI ENGINE STARTED TO MAKE A NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING GOT STUCK IN THE FAN. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE LEFT BANK CYLINDER HEAD. AFTER REMOVING THE HEAD AND INSPECTING THE VALVE SEATS NO# 1 INTAKE VALVE SEAT WAS MISSING. AFTER TAKING A CLOSER LOOK AT THE VALVE SEATS IT WAS NOTICED THAT SMALL BITS AND PIECES WERE CRUMBLING OFF OF THE OTHER SEATS. FOLLOWING THIS I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM AND FIND IT TO BE QUITE COMMON WITH THE 5.7 ENGINE. THE MAIN SAFETY PROBLEM HERE IS THAT IF ONE LOSES A VALVE SEAT THEN A VALVE CAN POTENTIALLY BE LOST AND CAUSE CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THIS COULD BE A VERY BAD THING. THERE ARE TWO PROBLEMS HERE. CHRYSLER IS USING A COMPRESSED MEDAL VALVE SEAT THAT DOES NOT HOLD UP UNDER THE STRESS OF THE ENGINE AS IT AGES AND THE SECOND IS THAT THE VALVE SEAT IS NOT SUNK DEEP ENOUGH INTO THE HEAD I.E. THE HEAD DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH GRIPPING SURFACE TO HOLD THE VALVE SEAT IN PLACE. AND YES I AM AN ENGINEER! *TR
ENGINE STALLED AND STOPPED WORKING AS COMING OUT OF GAS STATION AFTER FILLING AT GAS STATION. STEERING WENT HARD AND BRAKES DID NOT WORK. WARNING LIGHT (LUB OIL CAN) CAME UP. TURNED IGNITION OFF AND ON AGAIN, ENGINE STARTED BUT KEPT STALLING FOR NEXT 5 MINUTES. - MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES - ALL AFTER FILLING TANK. ALL SUBSEQUENT OCCURRENCES REPORTED TO DEALER. DEALER KEPT VEHICLE FOR A WEEK TRYING TO 'REPLICATE' THE ERROR BUT REPORTED NO FINDINGS. *TR
PULLED OUT OF GAS STATION AFTER REFUELING INTO HEAVY RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, CAR STALLED WHILE TURNING MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER (IF MY WIFE HAD BEEN DRIVING SHE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STEER). MANAGED TO PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND COAST INTO MEDIUM. PUT CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED CAR, PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND CAR STALLED AGAIN. THIS TIME I PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED WHILE COASTING. NO MORE PROBLEMS ON THIS TRIP. HAD THE SAME PROBLEM 3 WEEKS LATER, PULLED UP TO STOP SIGN AFTER REFUELING AND CAR STALLED. I PUT CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED, DROVE APPROXIMATELY 3/4 MILE AND ENTERED STOP AND GO TRAFFIC ON FREEWAY. CAR STALLED 5-6 TIMES WITHIN 1 MILE, EACH TIME I PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED. SEVERAL TIMES I WAS ABLE TO PREVENT A STALL BY WATCHING THE TACH FOR SIGNS OF RPM DROPPING THEN PUTTING CAR IN NEUTRAL AND PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH AFTER REFUELING TO CAPACITY, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THE PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT 12 MONTHS AGO. WHEN EVER I RE-FUEL MY CAR IT WILL SHUT OFF SEVERAL TIMES. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY IF I LET THE FUEL LEVEL GET TO OR BELOW 1/4 TANK BEFORE RE-FUELING. THE PROBLEM WILL CONTINUE AT LEAST 10-15 MINUTES AFTER RE-FUELING. WHEN THE PROBLEM FIRST STARTED THE CAR WOULD ONLY SHUT OFF AT IDLING OR AT VERY SLOW SPEED. NOW THE PROBLEM WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN EVEN WHILE AT STREET OR HIGHWAY SPEED. IT APPEARS THAT THE FUEL FLOW IS INTERRUPTED THEN BEGINS TO FLOW AGAIN. THIS WILL REPEAT SEVERAL TIMES. THIS ONLY HAPPENS AFTER RE-FUELING. I HAVE NOT ATTEMPTED TO GET IT REPAIRED DUE TO NO LONGER HAVING A WARRANTY. MY CAR NOW HAS APPROXIMATELY 62000 MILES ON IT. *TR
CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE UPON VEHICLE START. ENGINE THREW A CONNECTING ROD DUE TO CONNECTING ROD BEARING FAILURE. THIS MECHANICAL FAILURE RESULTED IN COMPLETE LOSS OF MOBILITY AND POWER. WERE THIS TO HAPPEN IN MOTION IT WOULD RESULT IN LOSS OF PROPULSION, BRAKES AND STEERING, PRESENTING AN IMMEDIATE SAFETY HAZARD TO THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE AND OTHER DRIVERS IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY. THIS DEFECT HAS BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY BOTH THE DEALER REPS AND VARIOUS INDEPENDENT MECHANICS LEADING TO THE BELIEF THAT THIS PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD, AND IS BECOMING MORE APPARENT AS THIS FLAWED MECHANICAL COMPONENT / DESIGN REACHES THE END OF ITS LIFE EXPECTANCY. STRONGLY REQUEST FURTHER INVESTIGATION OR CORRELATION OF SIMILAR INCIDENTS / COMPLAINTS. *TR
AFTER REFUELING VEHICLE ITS STALLS OUT WILL RESTART SOMETIMES OTHERS IT WON'T. CHRYSLER WILL NOT PAY FOR NEW FUEL TANK COST IS $1200.00. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ABRUPTLY STALLS AS IF SOMEONE JUST TURNED THE IGNITION OFF. AND IT IS NOT A GOOD FEELING WHEN YOU HAVE TO MANEUVER THREE LANES WITHOUT POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. THE CAR MUST BE STOPPED COMPLETELY TURN THE IGNITION OFF AND THEN BACK ON TO GET THE CAR GOING TILL IT STALLS AGAIN 6 TIMES TONIGHT JUST TO DRIVE 10 MILES TO GET HOME. NO WARNING YOU CAN BE GOING 65 MILES AN HOUR OR 5 AND THEN WITHOUT WARNING IT JUST SHUTS DOWN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR THE DEALER KEEPS SAYING THEY FIXED IT BUT NO HERE IT IS AGAIN STALLING OUT LESS THAN A WEEK FROM BEING AT THE DEALERS. SOME TIMES LESS THAN A DAY AFTER THEY HAVE HAD IT. WHY CANT CHRYSLER FIX THEIR OWN CARS THEY ACT LIKE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. IT SEEMS NOT TO BE A MECHANICAL PROBLEM IT RUNS GREAT NO SPUTTERING OR JERKING JUST DRIVING ALONG AND ELECTRONICALLY IT JUST SHUTS DOWN. THEY HAVE REPLACED A MULTITUDE OF SENSORS AND THE PCM THE TCM AND SOME PARTS I CANT EVEN NAME AND EACH TIME THEY SAY ITS FIXED AND EACH TIME IT DOES THE SAME THING AGAIN. I HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, LOST TIME AT WORK I CANT DRIVE MY CAR WITH THE FEELING OF SAFETY OR SECURITY. THE STRESS LEVELS IN MY FAMILY ARE SKY HIGH. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR CHRYSLER TO FIX THEIR OWN CAR PEOPLE ARE BEING TREATED UNFAIRLY AND UNJUSTLY BY THIS CAR AND COMPANY. PLEASE IF THEY CANT FIX THEIR OWN CAR WHO CAN? I FILLED UP THE GAS TANK AT THE STATION PULLED INTO TRAFFIC AND THE LIGHT TURNED RED. STOPPED FOR THE LIGHT THE CAR STARTED LURCHING AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. TURNED ON HAZARD LIGHT PUSHED GAS TO FLOOR AND CRANKED ENGINE OVER. TOOK SEVERAL TRIES TO GET ENGINE TO START. AFTER THIS INCIDENT THE CAR RUNS ROUGH WHEN STOPPING AT RED LIGHTS. *TR
WHEN I REFUEL THE CAR AT ANY GAS STATION, IT USUALLY STALLS A FEW MINUTES LATER WHEN I AM DRIVING. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT IT WAS THE GAS QUALITY, BUT I HAVE TRIED PREMIUM FUEL FROM ALL MAJOR BRANDS, AND EACH TIME I FILL UP THE CAR, THEIR IS A 90% CHANCE THAT IT WILL STALL TWO OR THREE TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE RPMS JUST DROP AND THE CAR STALLS. I HAVE NOT HAD AN ACCIDENT, YET, BUT THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WHICH CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.. *TR
IM HOPING THIS POST WILL GET US SOME HELP AND ANSWERS ABOUT THE PROBLEMS WE ARE HAVING WITH OUR 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. WE BOUGHT THE CAR IN NOVEMBER OF 2011. IT HAD LESS THAN 33,000 MILES AND WAS IN GREAT CONDITION. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS CAR FOR ABOUT THE FIRST YEAR, BUT THEN THE TROUBLE STARTED AND IT IS NOW AN ONGOING NIGHTMARE. IT STARTED STALLING AND DYING CONSTANTLY, USUALLY WHEN WE WERE GOING SLOW OR STOP AND GO, BUT A FEW TIMES WHEN DRIVING 35-45 MPH. WE HAD PURCHASED A 2 YEAR/20,000 ADDED WARRANTY WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR (EXPIRES IN NOV 2013 WHICH HAS ME WORRIED) SO ALL OF THE SERVICING AND REPAIRS HAVE BEEN DONE AT OUR LOCAL DEALER. SO FAR, THEY HAVE DONE THROTTLE BODY CLEAN, CLEANED A/F BOX AND REPLACED FILTER, COOLANT FLUSH, STEERING SYSTEM FLUSH, FUEL KIT, CHANGED OUT FUEL TANK, VAPOR CANISTER, LEAK DETECTION PUMP FILTER, NEW FACTORY BATTERY, COMPLETE TUNE UP, OIL CHANGES, AND MORE. NOT ALL OF THIS WAS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY, SO WE HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS OF OUR OWN MONEY ON REPAIRS AND RENTAL CAR ALL THE TIMES IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SINCE IT IS OUR ONLY CAR. ON OCTOBER 16, WE HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER BECAUSE IT WAS DYING AGAIN AND WOULDN'T STAY CRANKED ONCE PUT IN GEAR AND START MOVING. AS OF THIS MORNING, STILL NO WORD FROM THEM ON WHAT THEY THINK IT IS THIS TIME, AND YET ANOTHER RENTAL BILL WHILE WE WAIT. IN THE TWO YEARS WE HAVE HAD THIS CAR, WE HAVE ONLY PUT ABOUT 10,000 MILES ON IT, IT HAS LESS THAN 43,000 MILES. THIS CAR HAS WAY TOO FEW MILES AND HAS BEEN TOO WELL TAKEN CARE OF FOR IT TO BE HAVING THIS MANY PROBLEMS. ALL THE THINGS THEY HAVE DONE AND ITS STILL DOING THE SAME THING! THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WHEN IT DIES, YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE TO NONE OF THE STEERING AND BRAKES. LUCKILY, WE HAVE NOT HAD IT DIE IN MAJOR TRAFFIC YET, BUT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT NOW FOR FEAR THAT WE ARE GOING TO BE IN A WRECK BECAUSE OF IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS A BEEPING SOUND WAS HEARD WHILE THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MAIN COMPUTER FRAME HOWEVER THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL. THE DEALER PERFORMED A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE MOTOR COILS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
VEHICLES SPUTTERS, STALLS AND DIES AFTER FILING FUEL TANK. CHRYSLER ENTERED INTO AN EXTENDED WARRANTY PROGRAM TO RESOLVE YOUR INQUIRY PE13-016. CHRYSLER AGREED AS A RESULT OF THAT INQUIRY TO EXTEND A LIFETIME FUEL -TANK WARRANTY ON THE 153,817 EFFECTED CARS. CHRYSLER WILL NOT HONOR THAT WARRANTY AGREEMENT ON MY VEHICLE.. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO ENCOURAGE CHRYSLER TO HONOR THE WARRANTY AND REPLACE MY FUEL TANK AND FAULTY FLOAT VALVE PER THE AGREEMENT THEY ENTERED WITH YOU? PREVIOUSLY I WAS REFERRED TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION WHO INDICATES THIS IS NOT A ISSUE THEY CAN PROVIDE ME ASSISTANCE. WHO ENFORCES THE AGREEMENTS NHTSA HAS MADE WITH CHRYSLER? MY VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS DUE TO THE FAULTY FLOAT VALVE AND NO ONE IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WANTS TO TAKE OWNERSHIP TO HELP. *TR
I WAS DRIVING NORTH ON THE NJTP AND WAS IN THE PROCESS OF PASSING ANOTHER CAR WHEN SUDDENLY MY CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL OR DISENGAGED FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE ENGINE ACCELERATED, BUT THERE WAS NO POWER TRANSFERRED TO THE ROAD. I HAD TO PULL INTO THE BREAK DOWN LANE AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE WITH THE HOPE THAT THE ELECTRONIC MODULE WOULD RESET ITSELF SO THAT I COULD ENGAGE DRIVE GEAR. THE PROCEDURE WORKED, BUT NOW THE TRANSMISSION READILY DISENGAGES FROM DRIVE WITH LIGHT TO MODERATE THROTTLE APPLICATION. I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 TOURING AND I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. FROM THE FIRST WEEK THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR(2/10/2013) USED WITH 71,000 MILES THIS CAR HAS CAUSED ME PROBLEMS. THE FIRST ISSUES I EXPERIENCED WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR WOULD ACT LIKE IT WAS SEARCHING FOR THE CORRECT GEAR BY SHIFTING UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN EVEN WHEN I WAS NOT ACCELERATING, THIS WOULD HAPPEN WHENEVER I WOULD GO OVER 40 MILES PER HOUR. THE PROBLEM ENDED UP BEING THE THROTTLE BODY INSIDE MY TRANSMISSION. THE NEXT ISSUE I EXPERIENCED WAS A SHIFTING IN THE FRONT END WHENEVER I WENT OVER A SPEED BUMP OR POT HOLE IN THE ROAD, I FOUND OUT THAT THE STRUT, BALL JOINT, AND THE ROCKER ARM HAD TO BE REPLACED ON MY FRONT END. THEN THE DIALS ON MY DASH STARTED TO GO CRAZY PERIODICALLY FOR NO REASON AT ALL, I HAVE YET TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THIS IS BUT I ASSUME IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE COMPUTER. I ALSO EXPERIENCED COMPLETE FAILURE OF MY COOLING SYSTEM. I HAD TO REPLACE THE DRIER, CONDENSER, EXPANSION VALVE, AND ONE OTHER PART THAT I CANNOT REMEMBER. THE TOTAL FOR THIS JOB WAS ABOUT 2,700 AND THE TRANSMISSION WORK WAS 3,750 AND THE WORK ON THE FRONT END WAS A TOTAL OF ABOUT 800.00 NOT TO MENTION THE BRAKES I'VE REPLACED AND THE NEW SET OF TIRES I BOUGHT FOR THE CAR AND I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 1 YEAR AND 7 MONTHS. *TR

I HAVE HAD THE FUEL INJECTORS CLEANED AND STOPPED TOPPING OF THE TANK BUT THE PROBLEM HAS NOT GONE AWAY. I HAVE TO DRIVE TWO MAJOR HIGHWAYS FOR DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS AND CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE THIS CAR STALL LIKE THIS IN MAJOR TRAFFIC. FIVE MINUTES AFTER REFUELING MY 2006 300C, IT STALLED AT A STOP LIGHT. VEHICLE RESTARTED QUICKLY, BUT COULD NOT HOLD STEADY RPMS AT IDLE OR HIGHER. DROVE IMMEDIATELY TO DEALER, AND VEHICLE STALLED THREE MORE TIMES ON THE WAY. DEALER PERSONNEL INDICATED STALLING COULD BE CAUSED BY OVER-FILLING THE GAS TANK (HOWEVER, I HAD NOT CONTINUED FILLING THE TANK AFTER THE PUMP AUTO-SHUT-OFF). DEALER SUGGESTED RUNNING THE ENGINE FOR 15 MINUTES TO CLEAR VAPOR CANISTER. THIS DID NOT HELP. DEALER REPLACED FUEL TANK AND VAPOR CANISTER, $1500. THIS IS A DANGEROUS CONDITION SINCE THE ROUGH RUNNING LEADS TO STALLING AT INTERSECTIONS OR STOP SIGNS. *TR
I BOUGHT MY CAR NEW IN MARCH 2006 AND I AM THE ONLY OWNER/DRIVER. I DO LIKE MY CAR AND WILL BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER 300C. WHEN THE CAR WAS NEW I HAD SEVERAL STALLING ISSUES WHERE THE CAR WOULD STALL AT LOW SPEEDS OR WHILE SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I DO NOT RECALL IF IT WAS AFTER REFUELING. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND NO "CODES" WERE FOUND AND THE DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE CAR THAN RAN PERFECTLY FOR SIX YEARS WITH NO STALLING ISSUES. ALL MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN PERFORMED INCLUDING NEW SPARK PLUGS AS RECOMMENDED BY CHRYSLER. STARTING EARLIER THIS YEAR THE STALLING RESTARTED AND IT ONLY HAPPENS AFTER I FILL THE CAR WITH FUEL. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL OTHER GAS STATIONS AND RAN SOME FUEL INJECTION CLEANER THROUGH THE FUEL SYSTEM. I DO NOT TOP OFF THE TANK WHEN FILLING THE CAR UP. AT ONE POINT THE STALLING OCCURRED AFTER EVERY FILL UP AND NOW IT IS NOT AS OFTEN (EVERY OTHER FILL UP). AFTER FILLING THE TANK THE CAR STARTS NORMALLY AND AS I EXIT THE GAS STATION AND STOP TO CHECK TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC THE CAR WILL STUMBLE AND STALL. IT RESTARTS AND WILL STALL AGAIN IF I DON'T KEEP THE ENGINE RPM'S UP. SOMETIMES AFTER I FILL UP AND QUICKLY MERGE INTO TRAFFIC (AND NOT ALLOW THE CAR TO FALL TO IDLE SPEED) WHILE ACCELERATING UP TO 25-40 MPH THE CAR WILL STUMBLE AND IT FEELS LIKE IT IS NOT GETTING FUEL. IT DOES NOT STALL BECAUSE THE CAR IS GAINING SPEED AND THEN CLEARS UP AFTER A "SURGE" AND THEN RUNS FINE TILL THE NEXT FILL UP CYCLE. THE NHTSA OFFICE OF DEFECTS INVESTIGATION SOON OPENED INVESTIGATION PE13016 INTO THE FUEL TANK PROBLEM. THE ODI INFORMATION REQUEST TO CHRYSLER CITED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS, INCLUDING MINE. INVESTIGATION PE13016 WAS CLOSED EARLIER THIS YEAR BY NHTSA BECAUSE THE "CONDITION IS ADEQUATELY ADDRESSED BY CHRYSLER'S EXTENDED WARRANTY" ON 2006 CHRYSLER 300 FUEL TANKS. THE CLOSING SUMMARY REFERS TO CHRYSLER SENDING LETTERS TO OWNERS ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. SINCE I DID NOT RECEIVE AN OWNER LETTER, I TODAY CALLED THE CHRYSLER CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER, 1-800-247-9753. THE ASSISTANCE CENTER REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT WITHIN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE MY VEHICLE (BUILT WITHIN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY TIME FRAME) CONTAINED A GAS TANK WITH THE SALES CODE "NSKS" AND THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY COVERS CARS BUILT WITH THE GAS TANK SALES CODE "NSK." NOTHING IN THE MATERIALS POSTED ONLINE WITH PE13016 INDICATE THAT THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT GAS TANKS, ONLY ONE OF WHICH HAD PROBLEMS. PLEASE, RECONSIDER WHETHER THE CHRYSLER RESPONSE IS ADEQUATE. MY VEHICLE, WITH THE "NSKS" GAS TANK, CLEARLY SUFFERED THE REFILL STALLING PROBLEM ADDRESSED IN PE 13016.
