THE CHRYSLER DIES AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK. IT MAY DIE SEVERAL TIMES FOR A FEW MILES. USUALLY AT SLOW SPEED OR AT TAKE OFF. *TR
JUST AFTER FILLING THE CAR WITH GASOLINE,WHEN DRIVING THE CAR IT JUMPS AND THEN STALLS THREE TO FOUR TIMES BEFORE RUNNING NORMAL AGAIN. VERY DANGEROUS, VERY.... *JS
AFTER YOU GET GAS IN THE CAR AND DRIVE AWAY THE CAR WILL STALL AND THEN YOU HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART YOUR ENGINE.THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE IN MOVING TRAFFIC AT THE TIME. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP THE CAR IT WILL STUTTER AND STALL RANDOMLY. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT TWICE AND HONKED AT NUMEROUS TIMES FOR A BASIC, YET DANGEROUS ISSUE. *TR
ENGINE STALLS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. BEEN IN SHOP ALL 6 TIMES. IN THERE TODAY. STALLED AS I WAS DRIVING AT 60 MILES PER HOUR. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER STEERING OR ANYTHING. JUST HAD TO COAST WITH EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON TILL IT CAME TO A STOP, I ALSO HAD JUST FILLED WITH GAS EACH TIME IT HAS STALLED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GLASS FOR THE SUNROOF BECAME SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 65 MPH. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,849.
CAR UNEXPECTEDLY STALLED IN TRAFFIC BUT STARTED RIGHT UP AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AS I MADE MY WAY TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER A FEW MILES AWAY. THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE PROBLEM AT THE TIME. THE CAR RAN FINE UNTIL YESTERDAY JANUARY 31ST 2013 WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT THIS TIME IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I MANAGED TO GET THE CAR STARTED AND IT CONTINUED TO STALL SEVERAL TIMES AS I MADE MY WAY TO THE DEALER AGAIN. THE MECHANIC IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM WHICH APPEARS TO HAPPEN RIGHT AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK AS A PROBLEM WITH THE VAPOR RECOVERY SYSTEM. HE STATED HE HAS SEEN THIS PROBLEM MANY TIMES AND THE REMEDY IS TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK AND VAPOR RECOVERY LINES AND FILTER ETC. COST ABOUT $2000. I ASKED IF IT WAS A RECALL GIVEN THAT THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY (MY ONLINE RESEARCH SUGGESTS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER 300C). I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT A RECALL. MY ISSUE IS THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
I TOO HAVE HAD SEVERAL INSTANCES WHEN MY CAR STALLED ON A BUSY ROAD AFTER APPROX. 5 MINUTES OF FUELING UP. VERY DANGEROUS. THIS HAPPENED APPROX. 6 TIMES USUALLY IN VERY COLD WEATHER. *TR
VEHICLE HESITATES/STALLS AFTER FILLING WITH FUEL. DEALERSHIP REPLACED PURGE SOLENOID AND CANNISTER AT A COST TO ME OF $538.22. AFTER REPLACEMENT, CAR DIED ON ME 5 TIMES AFTER FILLING WITH FUEL IN LESS THAN A 4 BLOCK AREA. RETURNED CAR TO DEALERSHIP. WAS TOLD THE CUSTOMARY FIX WAS A NEW CANISTER AND FUEL TANK, AT AN ADDITIONAL COST OF $1,168.70 PLUS TAX, OR TO ONLY FILL TANK 3/4 OF THE WAY FULL WHEN FUELING. I CHOOSE NOT TO PAY APPROXIMATELY AN ADDITIONAL $1,200 AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FILL MY TANK TO FIRST FUEL HOSE SHUTOFF SINCE. HAVE HAD TO TRY TO GUESS HOW MUCH FUEL TO PUT INTO VEHICLE WHEN FUELING EVER SINCE. DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I WASN'T NOTIFIED BY THE DEALERSHIP OF THIS PROBLEM SINCE THEY OBVIOUSLY HAVE A RECORD THIS WAS AN ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE, AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE FUEL TANK EXTENDED LIFETIME WARRANTY COVERAGE LETTER FROM CHRYSLER. HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED BY CHRYSLER AT ALL REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE STARTED BUT THE GEAR SHIFT SEIZED IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 95,000.
THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS OVER A YEAR AGO. I HAD JUST FILLED UP GAS TANK AND PULLED OUT OF LOT STILL IN A PARKING LOT OF A SHOPPING AREA. TURNED LEFT INTO A FAST FOOD PLACE AND CAR SHUTS DOWN AND WOULD NOT RESTART UNTIL ATTEMPTED SEVERAL TIMES. I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPOT AND WENT INSIDE. CAME OUT STARTED CAR WAS PULLING OUT OF LOT INTO TRAFFIC AND CAR SHUTS DOWN AGAIN. THIS TIME NOT TO THE LIKING OF OTHER DRIVERS OR MYSELF. RESTARTED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS DROVE HOME AND DID NOT HAPPEN AGAIN TILL I WENT ON A TRIP A FEW MONTHS LATER. HALF WAY THROUGH THE TRIP I HAD TO REFUEL AND BINGO IT HAPPENED AGAIN AFTER PULLING OUT OF GAS STATION LOT AND TURNING LEFT INTO TRAFFIC. THIS IS NOT GOOD. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES AND CONTINUED MY TRIP ON INTERSTATE WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN OK UNTIL JUST TWO DAYS AGO THE 28TH OF DECEMBER 2013. IT HAPPENED AGAIN, AFTER FILLING UP AND TURNING LEFT AT SLOW SPEED CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE PULLING INTO A LOT. IT FINALLY RESTARTED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. AFTER READING ON LINE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. WHEN IT HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME I TOOK TO DEALER, THAT I WILL NEVER TAKE IT TO AGAIN. SHORT STORY IS THEY WANTED TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION AT THE TUNE OF $4500.00. I LEFT THERE AND DROVE TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP WHO DIAGNOSED AND SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH TRANSMISSION. PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE GETTING WORST AND AFRAID TO FILL UP AND PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL TANK AND RELATED COMPONENTS. PLEASE CHRYSLER FIX THIS PROBLEM, I LOVE MY 300C. *TR
AFTER FUELING VEHICLE, CAR STALLS SEVERAL TIMES SHORTLY AFTER LEAVING GAS STATION. MUST STOP, TURN CAR OFF, THEN BACK ON EACH TIME. AFTER DRIVING AROUND 3-4 MILES, PROBLEM DISSIPATES. ALWAYS FILL CAR ON SLOWEST SETTING ON NOZZLE AND REMOVE WHEN CLICKS OFF ( NEVER OVERFILL). THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. *TR
AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK TO FULL, STOPPING AFTER THE PUMP CLICKS OFF THE FIRST TIME, THE VEHICLE STALLED AFTER RUNNING FOR AROUND 5 MINUTES. RESTARTED VEHICLE AND SAME THING HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES. VEHICLE CONTINUES TO DO THIS REGULARLY. *TR
AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK FULL I DROVE THE CAR 1-2 MILES AND STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE TO GO FORWARD THE ENGINE COMPLETELY DIED. I COASTED TO A STOP JUST PAST THE INTERSECTION AND WAS ABLE TO RE-START IT. THE SAME THING HAPPENED ABOUT A MILE FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD ONLY THIS TIME I WAS NOT STOPPED, BUT DRIVING AND ACCELERATING AND IT DIED AND I WAS FORCED TO COAST TO A STOP AND RESTART THE ENGINE. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND THEN STOPPED. IT HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT TIME I FILLED THE GAS TANK UP WITH VERY SIMILAR ISSUES, AND AGAIN STOPPED AFTER THE GAS TANK HAD USED SEVERAL GALLONS OF FUEL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK (AT A COST OF $1600). THE TECHNICIAN THEN TOLD ME THAT IF I KEPT THE GAS TANK AT 75% FULL AND NOT COMPLETELY FILL IT I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS. HE WAS RIGHT, SINCE THESE EVENTS IN DECEMBER OF 2012 I HAVE ONLY FILLED IT TO 75% FULL AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS. I AM REPORTING THIS BECAUSE I READ IN THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS ON 05/16/2013 THAT THIS MODEL OF CHRYSLER IS BEING INVESTIGATED FOR THE PROBLEM I HAVE TOLD YOU OF. THE DESCRIPTION/SYMPTOMS LISTED IN THE NEWS RELEASE SEEMED TO MATCH MINE AND I AM THEREFORE REPORTING IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE HOW TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
VEHICLE STALLS SHORTLY AFTER REFUELING. STALL HAPPENS MOSTLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP ALTHOUGH HAS ALSO OCCURRED AT A LOW SPEED CRUISE (25-35 MPH) AND WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AT AN INTERSECTION. HAPPENS ONLY AFTER FUEL TANK IS FULLY FILLED, BEING THE AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF ON THE FUEL PUMP. DOES NOT SEEM TO HAPPEN WHEN TANK IS ONLY PARTIALLY FILLED. WHILE THE PROBLEM HAS NOT RESULTED IN A COLLISION YET, THERE IS A HIGH PROBABILITY THAT IT EVENTUALLY WILL. THIS IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT STALLING WHEN LEAVING AN INTERSECTION CAUSES LOSS OF SOME CONTROL. WHEN THE ENGINE STALLS, UPON RESTART THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT COME ONLINE FOR A FEW MOMENTS. THIS CAN CAUSE DANGEROUS SCENARIOS WHEN LEFT IMMOBILE IN A BUSY INTERSECTION OF A MAJOR METROPOLITAN AREA. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE MAKING A TURN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENTIRE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,237 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,000. UPDATED 05/28/14*LJ UPDATED 7/9/14*CN
TROUBLE WITH ENGINE STALLING. IT HAPPENS AFTER THE CAR IS DRIVEN FOR A WHOLE OR FILLED FULL WITH GAS. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING SEVERAL TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND THE CAR TURNS OFF. SOMETIMES IT WILL IMMEDIATELY RESTART AND OTHER TIMES IT TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RESTART IT. WHEN IT STALLS OUT, THE AUTOMATIC STEERING ALSO LOCKS UP CAUSING THE CAR TO BE DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES NOT JUST ONCE.... ONE TIME WAS AFTER BEING ON INTERSTATE FOR A COUPLE HOURS, AS SOON AS WE PULLED OFF THE CAR KEPT CUTTING OFF. IT HAS BEEN CARED FOR AND IS PROPERLY MAINTENANCE. ON SOME OCCASIONS, I HAVE EVEN HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO RESET THE COMPUTER FOR IT TO START. THE PROBLEM HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT OTHER THE MONTHS. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP MY GAS TANK, I ENCOUNTERED NUMEROUS STALLS WHILE DRIVING. THANKFULLY, IT WAS CITY DRIVING EARLY IN THE MORNING. SINCE THEN, I HAVE ENCOUNTERED NUMEROUS SITUATIONS WHERE THE CAR HAS STALLED AFTER FILLING UP. I INITIALLY THOUGHT IT WAS BAD GAS (I.E. WATER IN MY GAS TANK), HOWEVER, I HAVE SINCE VARIED THE FUELING STATIONS AND BRANDS I USE AND HAVE SEEN NO EFFECT. IT ALWAYS SEEMS TO HAPPEN AFTER I FILL UP, AND IT SEEMS TO GO AWAY AFTER THE TANK HAS EMPTIED A BIT. THE LATEST ENCOUNTER WAS YESTERDAY (I FILLED UP TWO DAYS PRIOR) WHILE I HAD MY FAMILY IN THE CAR - MULTIPLE STALLS IN MID-DAY CITY TRAFFIC. AND AGAIN THIS MORNING. THE GAS TANK IS STILL QUITE FULL (IT SHOWS OVER "F" ON THE GAUGE). I _NEVER_ TOP OFF WHEN I FILL - I SIMPLY WAIT UNTIL THE FILLER TURNS ITSELF OFF WHEN FILLING. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS PROBLEM PRIOR TO THE FIRST OCCURRENCE IN MID NOVEMBER OF 2012, WHICH I INITIALLY (AS INDICATED) WROTE OFF AS BAD GAS DUE TO HURRICANE SANDY (I FIGURED THE STORM MAY HAVE CAUSED WATER IN THE TANKS OF GAS STATIONS). AFTER HEARING ABOUT NUMEROUS ISSUES ON THIS, I WANTED TO ADD MY EXPERIENCES TO THE GROWING LIST. THE CAR IN QUESTION IS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C SRT-8. *TR
I WAS TURNING RIGHT AT A STOP LIGHT, IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING A GAS TANK FILL, WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED AND POWER STEERING AND BRAKES FAILED. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO STALL DURING DECELERATION OR WHEN STOPPED FOR THE NEXT 30 MILES. *TR
CAR STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER FILLING GAS TANK. HAS HAPPENED ON AN OCCASIONAL BASIS, EACH TIME AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER HE FILLED THE FUEL TANK BEYOND CAPACITY THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT NOT TO OVERFILL THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 72,000. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C BRAND NEW & I'VE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER. IT WAS PURCHASED STRAIGHT FROM DAIMLER/CHRYSLER, ORDERED & BUILT TO MY SELECTED SPECIFICATIONS THROUGH CHRYSLER. I SET THE ORDER IN FEBRUARY 2005, IT WAS BUILT & FINISHED 11 NOV 2005. THIS WAS DONE WHILE I WAS FINALIZING MY CAREER IN ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY SERVICE & RETIRED. I RETURNED TO THE U.S. 7 JAN 2006 & THAT'S WHEN I SAW & PICKED MY THEN BRAND NEW 300C. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THAT CAR EVER SINCE. I TRULY LOVE THIS CAR & TO THIS DAY STILL LOVE THIS CAR. I'VE NEVER HAD ANY MAJOR ISSUES WITH THIS CAR FROM DAY ONE OTHERTHAN PUTTING GAS IN IT, VERY DEPENDABLE CAR. IN 2007 JUNE I WAS DIAGNOSED CANCER OF THE BONE & BLOOD (MULTIPLE MYELOMA, STAGE 4). AFTER BEING HOSPITALIZED FOR APPRX. 18 MTHS, ONE DAY WHILE COMING FROM CHEMO IT STARTED TO OVER HEAT & BLOWING STEAM, HAD IT TOWED TO NEAREST DEALER & HAD TO HAVE THE FANS & THE SENSORS REPLACED, 1ST MAJOR PROBLEM, THEN AFTER THAT IT WAS THE SHIFT LEVER STUCK IN PARK, THEN THE "A" FRAME & CONTROL ARMS, NOW IN NOV 2012, AFTER ATTENDING MY GRANDMOTHER'S FUNERAL, I FILLED IT UP @ A GAS STATION & IT SHUT OFF, WOULD START BACK UP BUT CONTINUED TO SHUT OFF. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THEN ONCE I GOT IT STARTED IT WOULD SPUTTER, KICK, & STALL, THIS WAS REPEATED FOR SEVERAL MILES DOWN THE HWY & WAS FINE TIL I HAD TO FILL IT UP AGAIN FROM THEN ON IT CONTINUED TO DO SO EVERY FILL UP. I DID RECEIVE AN INDICATION OF THE GAS CAP (REPLACED) THEN JUNE 2013 I FILLED IT UP AS USUAL & IT SHUT OFF & IT WAS DIFFICULT TO RESTART, I WAITED & START IT AGAIN IT DID SO I PULLED ON TO THE ROAD, IT BEGAN TO STALL, SPUTTER, & BUCK, AS I CREPT HOME, I HEARD A LOUD CRACKLING SOUND LOST ALL POWER, HAD IT TOWED WAS TOLD #4 VLV HAD FELL DOWN IN THE CYLINDER, AFTER 3 MONTHS 2008 5.7L ENGINE PUT IN, PROBLEM STILL EXIST, EVAP SOLENOID, CANISTER, PUMP, & FILTER ASSEMBLY REPLACED. *TR
MANY MULTIPLE INCIDENTS - AFTER FILLING FUEL TANK, ENGINE WILL STALL MULTIPLE TIMES SHORTLY AFTERWARDS AND IS DIFFICULT TO RE-START. THIS HAPPENS EVEN IF CARE IS TAKEN TO AVOID "TOPPING OFF" TANK. AT TIMES THE ENGINE HAS EVEN STALLED DURING FUELING ONCE TANK IS NEAR FULL, BEFORE PUMP CLICKS OFF. MUST DRIVE WITH GAS CAP REMOVED FOR IT TO START AND RUN AT ALL FOR MANY MILES BEFORE IT BEHAVES NORMALLY AGAIN, AND EVEN WITH GAS CAP REMOVED IT STILL WILL COME NEAR STALLING AT TIMES. *TR
AFTER FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH FUEL (NOT TOPPING OFF THE TANK) THE CAR STALLED UPON LEAVING THE GAS STATION. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT AFTER SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE RISK IS INCREDIBLE! THE CAR STALLS WITHOUT WARNING AS TRAFFIC WAS ALL AROUND ME HONKING AND I WAS NEARLY BEING HIT FROM BEHIND!! ONCE WAS A FLUKE I THOUGHT AND MAYBE BAD GAS. I WAS ABLE TO CAREFULLY NAVIGATE ON BACK STREETS TO THE HOUSE AND NEVER HAD THE PROBLEM AGAIN UNTIL THE NEXT FILL UP. AGAIN I HAD THE STALLING PROBLEM, LUCKY FOR ME I HAD PICKED A LIGHT TRAFFIC TIME TO FILL UP. I SWITCHED GAS STATIONS AFTER THAT AN NOW ONLY GET GAS AT SHELL STATIONS HEARING THAT THEY HAD THE BEST GAS QUALITY OVERALL. THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED SINCE THEN EVERY TIME I FILL THE TANK FULL. THE STALLING PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE OCCURRING NOW TWO NEEDLE WIDTHS BELOW THE FULL MARK WHICH MEANS SOMETHING IS GETTING WORSE. THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT THERE IS NO RECALL AND THE FIX IS TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK DUE TO A FAULTY VALUE AT THE TOP OF THE TANK. THE COST IS $1,315. THE RISK OF GETTING HIT FROM BEHIND AT ANY SPEED IS INCREDIBLE AND VERY REAL!! I BELIEVE CHRYSLER SHOULD REPLACE THE FAULTY TANKS. *TR

THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE FAILURE AND THAT THEY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C BOUGHT IT NEW AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL 2012 WHEN WE WERE TRAVELING FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND STOPPED TO REFUEL. AFTER FILLING THE TANK WE STARTED THE CAR AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE, THE CAR STARTED BUCKING AND THEN WOULD SHUT OFF. IT DID THIS TWICE BEFORE IT STOPPED AND THEN DROVE FINE FOR THE REST OF THE TRIP. IT DID THE SAME THING ON OUR WAY HOME AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK BUT AFTER DOING IT SEVERAL TIMES IT DROVE FINE FOR THE REST OF THE TRIP. ONCE HOME THE CAR DROVE FINE UNTIL I FILLED IT UP WITH GAS AND THE PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN. IT BUCKS AND THEN STALLS, SOMETIMES IT WILL START RIGHT AWAY AND OTHER TIMES I HAD TO LET IT SIT A WHILE. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION, AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHILE JUST DRIVING ALONG. THIS IS SCARY AS WELL AS DANGEROUS BECAUSE NOT ONLY DOES IT STOP ANYWHERE WHICH COULD CAUSE ANOTHER CAR TO HIT YOU, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND ON ONE OCCASION I ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE I COULDN'T STEER OUT OF THE WAY DURING A TURN. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I NEED TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK GAVE ME INFO ABOUT CANNISTERS AND VAPORS AND NOT BEING SOMETHING THAT IS SERVICEABLE. OF COURSE IT'S GOING TO BE EXPENSIVE BUT THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM IS A DANGER ON THE ROAD COULD LEAD TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR

HAD TO DRIVE VEHICLE IN PARKING LOT ACCELERATING 8 TIMES TO BURN OFF FUEL BEFORE IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE WHILE CAR SHUDDERED. CANNOT FILL UP TANK ANYMORE. WAS TOLD I NEED A NEW TANK BUT THERE WAS A 6 MONTH BACK ORDER DUE TO ALL THE PEOPLE REQUESTING NEW TANKS. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK, THE CAR STALLS WHEN AT SPEEDS OF LESS THAN 15 MILES PER HOUR. IT STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS AND ON TURNING ON TO STREETS. TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, TOW SERVICE $80.00. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE EVAP CANISTER AND PURGE SOLENOID. COST TO REPLACE $630.89. LATEST INCIDENT WAS ON JULY 5, 2013 FILLED UP AT STATION , SAME AS BEFORE, THIS TIME THE CAR DIED ON THE FREEWAY. TOOK 3 POLICE OFFICERS TO PUSH MY CAR OFF THE FREEWAY AND OUT OF HARMS WAY. ONCE AGAIN HAD THE CAR TOWED ($100.00 THIS TIME) TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. TODAY IS JULY 31, 2013 AND I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THEY ARE NOW SAYING THAT THE GAS TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, AND THE VENTS IN THE GAS TANK ARE CLOGGED. THE COST TO ME WILL BE $1,800.00 TO REPLACE AND ONCE AGAIN ANOTHER LARGE EXPENSE. UNTIL MY BOYFRIEND BROUGHT IN SOME PAPERWORK HE FOUND ON A "CHRYSLER FORUM"( INDICATING THAT THERE WERE OVER 92 PEOPLE THAT HAVE REPORTED THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM ) THE SERVICE DEPT. AT THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS LIKE THIS BEFORE AND THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM. WE ASKED THEM TO TAKE SOME OF THE GAS OUT OF THE TANK AND TAKE THE CAR TO THE GAS STATION AND FILL UP THE CAR. WELL AFTER GETTING GAS THE CAR DIED ON THE SERVICE REPS. NOT JUST ONCE BUT 3 TIMES. THIS WHOLE TIME THEY HAD MY CAR, NOT ONCE DID ANY CODES SHOW UP. WORK ON MY CAR IS NOW PENDING. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH CHRYSLER, THIS WAS MY DREAM CAR AND I CAN'T EVEN ENJOY IT. AFTER GASOLINE FILL UP, VEHICLE STALLS AFTER LEAVING GAS STATION. MOST LIKELY TO HAPPEN FIRST QUARTER MILE AFTER FILL UP AND SOMETIMES WITHIN FIVE MILES. LATER OCCURRENCES MAY HAPPEN UPON MAKING LEFT TURN. TOOK TO DEALER AND VEHICLE CHECKED OUT. VAPOR CANISTER AND PURGE VALVE TESTED OK. WAS TOLD FUEL CONTROL VALVE MAY BE PROBLEM BUT THE FUEL TANK WOULD HAVE TO BE REMOVED TO ACCESS THE PART. COST WOULD BE CONSIDERABLE. CONDITION HAS CONTINUED TO OCCUR UPON FILL UP FOR OVER A YEAR NOW WITH RARE EXCEPTION. I FIND IT QUITE DISTRACTING AND DANGEROUS WHEN VEHICLE STALLS IN TRAFFIC AS IT TAKES SEVERAL SECONDS TO GET RESTARTED AND MAY REOCCUR AGAIN. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO REPAIR TOMORROW, 31 OCTOBER 2013. IF VEHICLE IS RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE I WOULD LIKE TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENT. *TR

EVERY TIME THE CAR IS FILLED UP WITH GAS, IT STALLS SEVERAL TIMES. THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS AS AT LEAST ONCE I WAS GETTING ON AN INTERSTATE. FORTUNATELY, NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE I OVERFILL THE TANK (WHICH I DON'T) AND REPLACED A CHARCOAL FILTER AND SOLENOID AT THE COST OF ALMOST $500. IT HAPPENED AGAIN AFTER THIS REPAIR AND NOW I AM TOLD I NEED A NEW GAS TANK. THIS WILL COST ANOTHER $1250. I AM AWARE OF THIS HAPPENING ON OTHER CHRYSLER 300'S. CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM. AT FIRST THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE OF OVERFILLING THE TANK AND NOW CONFIRM IT IS THE FUEL TANK, BUT THERE HAVE BEEN NO RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE. AFTER REFILLING THE GAS TANK OF MY 2006 300C CHRYSLER, IT STUMBLES AS THOUGH IT IS NO LONGER GETTING ENOUGH FUEL. THERE IS A DEFINITE AND SERIOUS LOSS OF POWER, WITH CONCERN FOR OUR SAFETY AS WE EXIT THE GAS STATION AND REENTER TRAFFIC. THERE IS A SENSE THAT THE ENGINE IS STRUGGLING AND WOULD STALL. THE LOSS OF POWER REPEATS SEVERAL MORE TIMES AS WE DRIVE FURTHER FROM THE GAS STATION. THIS PROBLEM HAS PRESENTED ITSELF ALMOST EVERY TIME WE REFUEL AND IS CAUSE FOR REAL CONCERN FOR OUR SAFETY. AS REPORTED WITH OTHER COMPLAINTS, CAR WILL STALL AFTER REFUELING. YESTERDAY IT STALLED THREE TIMES WHILE REMOVING MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR AND APPLYING THE BRAKE. IT ALSO STALLED WHILE TURNING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION WHICH PROMPTED ME TO DIG INTO THIS FURTHER SINCE PREVIOUS ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM HAVE NOT WORKED!. VISITED CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP TODAY AND SINCE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NOT ON NOR COULD THEY FIND ANYTHING SPECIFIC TO THE ISSUE THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THE ONLY QUESTION I WAS ASKED WAS THAT IF I TOPPED THE FUEL AFTER THE PUMP AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF. I RESPONDED THAT I DID NOT AND IF I DID WHAT DIFFERENCE WOULD THAT MAKE. PROBLEM HAS BEEN ON GOING FOR ABOUT 8 MONTHS, AND IN THOSE MONTHS THE DEALERSHIP RE-FLASHED THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE, I HAVE REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS, REPLACED ALL THE FLUIDS, AND REPLACED THE PCV VALVE. PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS AND WOULD LIKE TO SEEK SOME TYPE OF RESOLUTION! *TR

AFTER DRIVING A FEW MILES, THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO GO AWAY. INTERNET CHATTER SEEMS TO INDICATE A BAD EVAP. SOLENOID/CANISTER OR FROM A VENT VALVE SENSOR INSIDE THE TANK THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM AND THE TANK WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. A COSTLY FIX. THIS CAN BE QUITE DANGEROUS AS THE CAR WILL HESITATE AND STALL EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM. CAR STALLS IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILLING UP. I SWITCHED FILLING STATIONS, BRANDS AND OCTANES. CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEM. AFTER A FEW GALLONS WERE USED, THE STALLING WENT AWAY EACH TIME. PROBLEM NOW CONTINUES WHILE STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS, OR NO PRESSURE ON THE THROTTLE. WHILE MOVING IT WILL STALL, THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND "DING", THEN WHEN I PUMP THE THROTTLE IT WILL CATCH ITSELF AND THE CAR WILL JERK HARD AND ACCELERATE AGAIN. AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS ONCE IT STALLS, IT WILL REQUIRE USING THE KEY TO RESTART. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THE PROBLEM, THE LAST TIME IN AUG 2013, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD STAYED ON. THEY RESET THE CODES AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *JS
