TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BECAME STUCK IN PARK AND COULD NOT BE SHIFTED INTO ANY OTHER GEARS. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) AND CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER WHO ADVISED THAT THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 102,000.
AFTER FILLING GAS TANK WITH FUEL ENGINE WILL STALL FOR THE FIRST FEW MILES. HAS STOPPED IN TRAFFIC/ROADWAY PUTTING MYSELF IN DANGER AFTER PUTTING FUEL INTO THE CAR. *TR
EVERY TIME I PUT GAS IN MY CHRYSLER 300C AND START THE ENGINE, THE CAR TENDS TO JERK FORWARD AND THEN THE ENGINE LITERALLY SHUTS DOWN. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM, BECAUSE THE ENGINE HAS SHUT DOWN WHILE I'M ON THE INTERSTATE; AFTER FILLING UP GAS TANK TO CAPACITY, MY VEHICLE STALLED AFTER DRIVING FOR NOT EVEN ONE MILE BECAUSE FUEL FLOODED THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BUT MY VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL AFTER A DISTANCE. I TOOK VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.THE FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED, BUT I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS PROBLEM COULD HAVE CAUSED A CRASH RESULTING IN A LOT OF DAMAGE AND POSSIBLE DEATH!! *TR
ENGINE STALLS AFTER FILLING THE TANK. ON AT LEAST FOUR OCCASIONS VEHICLE WOULD STALL WITHIN 20 MILES OF COMPLETELY FILLING TANK. AFTER SECOND INCIDENT VEHICLE TAKEN TO CHRYSLER DEALER FOR A TUNE-UP, HOWEVER PROBLEM PERSISTED. THIS OCCURRED ONCE WHILE ENTERING A PUBLIC PARKING LOT WITH LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES FORTUNATELY THE CAR AT LOW SPEED AND ROLLED TO A STOP BEFORE STRIKING ANYTHING. ON ANOTHER OCCASION THIS HAPPENED WHILE PULLING AWAY FROM A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC NEARLY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE STRUCK FROM BEHIND. TEMPORARY FIX IS TO NO LONGER COMPLETELY FILL THE TANK, GUESSING AT ABOUT 3/4 TANK TO STOP FUELING. PARTIALLY FILLING THE TANK IS NOT A PROPER SOLUTION. THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AND RECALLED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH OVER A ROAD BUMP, A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED IN ANY DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER SEVEN TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE RACK AND PINION AND THE FRONT STRUTS WERE REPLACED AT DIFFERENT TIMES BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 TOURING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO SHIFT FROM THE PARK POSITION AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,800.
UPON DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE LEGAL SPEED LIMIT IS ALWAYS 70MPH. WHILE FOLLOWING THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC INDIVIDUALS AHEAD OF ME STARTED SLOWING DOWN TO A CRUISE SPEED OF 40-50MPH ABRUPTLY. WHILE PAYING ATTENTION TO THE CHANGE IN PACE I SLOWED DOWN AS WELL TO FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. WHEN CHECKING MY REARVIEW MIRROR TO SEE IF THERE WAS A OPENING TO CHANGE LANES I NOTICED A FORD TRUCK COMING FROM BEHIND AT A EXCELLED PACE. WITH SECONDS BEFORE THE CONTACT I BRACED MYSELF FOR THE WRECK. WITHOUT PAYING ATTENTION SUDDENLY THE DRIVER FROM BEHIND RAN INTO MY REAR OF MY CAR. THIS IMPACT NOT ONLY SHATTERED MY ENTIRE REAR WINDOW, BUT MY TRUCK CAVED IN, BOTH MY TAIL LIGHTS WERE KNOCKED OUT, AND I WAS KNOCKED INTO THE NEXT FAR RIGHT LANE. DURING THE IMPACT I BRACED MYSELF AND HIT THE STEERING WHEEL, MY DRIVER SIDE REAR MIRROR WAS KNOCKED DOWN AND THE HAZARD WHEEL ALIGNMENT LIGHTS CAME ON. WHILE ALL OF THIS OCCURRED I WAS SHOCKED MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DIDN'T EMPLOY. I AM A MALE, 5?8, 160 POUNDS SO I AM SURE THE ELECTRONICS COULD TELL A PERSON WAS VISIBLY IN THE SEAT. HAD I NOT SEEN THE TRUCK COME FROM BEHIND I COULD'VE BEEN THROWN OUT THE WINDOW. I AM SURPRISED OF THE MALFUNCTION AND WANTED TO REPORT IT. *TR
WHEN I FILL MY GAS TANK, THE CAR HESITATES AND STALLS FOR THE FIRST 5 TO 20 MILES ON LOCAL STREETS. IT HAPPENS WHETHER I FILL TO THE AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF OR THE STATION "TOPS OFF" THE TANK. AFTER THIS HAPPENED 4 OR 5 TIMES, I STARTED TO FILL THE TANK TO 75% AND NOW IT DOES NOT HAPPEN. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND UNSAFE TO STALL LIKE THAT. I SAW THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE OTHER 2006 CHRYSLER PRODUCTS AND MY PROBLEM IS IDENTICAL. MY DEALER HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THEY SUGGESTED FILLING IT TO 75%. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP AT A GAS STATION, WHEN WE STARTED TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR STALLED. IT WAS HARD TO START AGAIN AND IT STALLED A COUPLE MORE TIMES. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES SINCE THEN AND IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. IT IS HARDER TO START AND IT IS TAKING A LITTLE TIME TO GO INTO GEAR. ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK LAST WEEK, IT WAS RAINING AND WHEN IT STALLED I ALMOST GOT HIT BY THE CAR BEHIND ME. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER AND HE TOLD ME THAT I CAN BRING IT IN AND HAVE IT DIAGNOSED, BUT IF IT ISN'T DOING IT WHEN I BRING IT IN, THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT HE IS NOT AWARE OF ANY KNOWN PROBLEMS. *TR
WHEN I WENT TO START IT WAS STUCK IN PARK. THE SAME YEAR, SAME CAR HAS A RECALL FOR THE SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER WHICH DOES THIS SAME THING. I WILL TAKE IT APART AND TRY TO FIX IT ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT IT IS THIS INTERLOCK LEVER. CHRYSLER SAYS MY VIN DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL HOWEVER I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE INCLUDED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SHIFT LEVER WAS STUCK IN PARK. AS A RESULT, SHE WAS UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL SHOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
WENT TO DRIVE VEHICLE TO A MEETING, TRIED PLACING THE SHIFTER INTO REVERSE, SHIFTER WOULDN'T MOVE. TALKED TO SEVERAL ASE MECHANICS WHOM TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE HAD NUMEROUS VEHICLES WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT CHYRSLER SHOULD HAVE HAD A RECALL ON THIS COMMON PROBLEM BY NOW. *TR
CAR WAS PARK IN MY DRIVEWAY. MY GEAR SHIFT WON'T MOVE OUT OF PARK. UNABLE TO MOVE AT ALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH UP A STEEP HILL, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES WHILE THE ENGINE COOLED OFF AND EVENTUALLY RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT FUEL FLOODED THE ENGINE. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FUEL TANK SHOULD NEVER BE FILLED TO CAPACITY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE PISTON HAD DETACHED FROM THE ENGINE AND THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
THE SHIFTER IS STUCK IN PARK AND WON'T MOVE. FROM WHAT I CAN TELL MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM DUE TO SOME FAULTY PINK LATCH IN THE SHIFTER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A TRAFFIC STOP, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES AND WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A POSSIBLE PCM FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE EXAMINED BY THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT ALL OF THE PARTS THAT CAUSED THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE THE PCM COULD BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,500.
CAR STALLS INTERMITTENTLY. WILL GO WEEKS OR EVEN MONTHS WITHOUT INCIDENT BUT THEN WILL STALL SEVERAL TIMES WHEN STARTING. USING WHEN STALLING PROCESS STARTS IT WILL ALSO DIE UPON STOPPING. CAR ALSO WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET PAST 3RD GEAR. CAR WILL REDLINE AT ABOUT 45 MPH BUT WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF GEAR. OCCASIONALLY IT WILL SHIFT ROUGHLY AND TYPICALLY WHEN GAS IS LET UP IT WILL GO INTO NEXT GEAR. HAS BEEN DOING THESE THINGS OFF AND ON FOR THE LAST YEAR OR SO AND WHEN I TELL THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE PROBLEM THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE ACTUAL PROBLEM. *TR
FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS, MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C HAS BEEN SURGING, TRYING TO CUT OUT, AND STALLING AT THE FIRST SEVERAL STOP LIGHTS AFTER FILLING THE TANK UP WITH GAS. CAR STALLS OR TRIES TO STALL SEVERAL MORE TIMES WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. HAVE COME TO REALIZE THAT CAR WILL NOT DO THIS IF I ONLY FILL THE TANK UP TO 3/4 FULL, BUT IF THE TANK IS FILLED MORE THAN THAT, THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURS AFTER FILL UP. THE CAR WILL TRY TO STALL WHEN STOPPING AT SEVERAL OF THE FIRST TRAFFIC LIGHTS, DRIVING AFTER RESTARTING, OR DRIVING AROUND CURVES. THIS SEEMS RATHER DANGEROUS DRIVING LIKE THIS IN TRAFFIC. I JUST LEARNED ABOUT THE NHTSA PE13-016 THAT CHRYSLER HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR THE 19 GALLON GAS TANKS TO LIFETIME. I HAVE ALSO LEARNED THAT CHRYSLER IS ONLY HONORING A LIMITED AMOUNT OF VEHICLES WHOSE OWNERS HAD FILED COMPLAINTS BEFORE THE INVESTIGATION WAS ENDED. IT APPEARS CHRYSLER IS NOT MEETING IT'S OBLIGATION. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS CAR AND HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A LETTER FROM CHRYSLER DEALING WITH ANY RECALL FOR THIS CAR. *TR
I WENT HOME FOR LUNCH FRIDAY, JULY 27, AFTERWARDS I COULD NOT GET MY CAR OUT OF PARK. I CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK, AND THE DRIVER SHOWED ME HOW TO GET MY CAR OUT OF PARK WITH A SCREW DRIVER. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE CHRYSLERS, AND DODGES HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS SHIFTER PROBLEM. I DROVE MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD THEM TO SEARCH FOR A RECALL. THEY COULDNOT FIND ANY, I HAD MY CARE REPAIRED FOR $381.00. I WENT HOME AND A FRIEND WITH A 2008 DODGE AVENGER SAID HE HAD THIS REPAIRED (UNDER RECALL) ON HIS VEHICLE IN 2011 AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP THAT I HAD MINE REPAIRED(AT MY EXPENSE). THERE ARE DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS, BUT OWNERS ARE BEING TOLD THAT THEIR (VIN) IS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL. HOW CAN I HAVE THE RIGHT MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR VEHICLE AND HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, AND BE EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL????? *TR
STALLED WHEN PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE, DIED BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY INTO STREET AND ALMOST HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. RANDOMLY DIES AT STOP SIGNS. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING CAR. *TR
I HAD DRIVEN THE CAR TO WORK, THEN DROVE A COUPLE OF MILES TO PICK UP MY CHILD, THEN BACK TO WORK AND PARKED THE CAR IN MY PARKING LOT. APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES LATER WHEN I TRIED TO LEAVE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT LEAVE PARK. THE ENGINE STARTS AND RUNS, THE BRAKE DISENGAGES THE SHIFTER BUT IT WILL NOT TRAVEL DOWNWARD IN ITS GATE TO ANY GEAR. I IMMEDIATELY DID AN INTERNET SEARCH TO FIND A QUICK SOLUTION, BUT ONLY FOUND OTHER SIMILAR CONDITIONS AND NO RECALL. *TR
AFTER REFILLING THE VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE I TRAVEL ABOUT A MILE FROM THE SERVICE STATION AND WHILE COMING TO A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE VEHICLE RPM BEGAN TO DECREASE UNTIL THE CAR ENGINE SHUT OFF; I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE DROVE A SHORT DISTANCE AND BEGAN TO STALL AGAIN. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD INTO A PARKING LOT; AFTER SITTING BRIEFLY I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT TO TIRE KINGDOM TO HAVE IT CHECKED, THE TECHNICIAN SCAN THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO CODES AVAILABLE TO DETERMINED WHAT CAUSED THE MALFUNCTION. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR A TEST DRIVE BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE DISCREPANCY; IN HIS OPINION SINCE THE VEHICLE TANK HAD JUST GOT FILLED MORE THAT LIKELY THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY A VAPOR LOCK. I WAS TOLD SINCE THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED TO CONTINUE WITH MY TRAVEL AND IF THE PROBLEM RETURNED TO RETURN THE VEHICLE BACK FOR EVALUATION. *TR
I BACKED MY VEHICLE OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, HEADED DOWNHILL TO THE INTERSECTION. I STOPPED AT THE STOP SIGN, AS I ACCELERATED LEAVING THE STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT. I PLACED THE SHIFTER IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. DROVE TO THE NEXT INTERSECTION AND THE VEHICLE DID THE SAME THING. AFTER THE INITIAL PROBLEM I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS, AND IS, STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO BE A FAILED THROTTLE CONTROL AND BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY, ESTIMATED COST OF AROUND $1,000. THEY WOULD NOT SAY FOR SURE IF THE REPAIRS WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THESE REPAIRS WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. MY VEHICLE HAS STALLED OUT SPORADICALLY THIS PAST SEVERAL MONTHS, SOMETIMES IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, WHERE I COULD EASILY BE REAR ENDED. MY VEHICLE HAS THE 5.7 LITER HEMI V8 ENGINE WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HOOK FOR THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFT LEVER INTERLOCK RETURN SPRING WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). I FILLED UP THE GAS TANK AND SHORTLY AFTER ENTERING THE HIGHWAY AND ACCELERATING THE ENGINE STALLED ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. IT TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RESTART. SINCE THEN IT HAS STALLED ON ME EVERY TIME I FILL UP THE GAS TANK SO I HAVE ONLY BEEN FILLING IT 3/4 FULL AND I HAVE NO PROBLEM. I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE PROBLEM (PE13-016) AND CALLED CHRYSLER BUT WAS TOLD MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT COVERED EVEN THOUGH IT FIT THE EXACT CRITERIA OF THE RECALL. CHRYSLER COULD NOT TELL ME WHY MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED. *TR

THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL THAT ADDRESSED THE DEFECT, WHICH WAS NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PERSONAL MECHANIC FOR REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 70,000.

REMOVED SILVER PLASTIC BESSEL FROM AROUND GEAR SHIFTER, I CAN SEE THE BROKEN PART. MECHANIC VIDEO ON YOU TUBE SHOWED ME HOW TO BYPASS THE PROBLEM. STICK A LONG HANDLED SCREW DRIVER DOWN IN THE HOLE DIRECTLY BESIDE THE SHIFTER WHEN IN PARK, BETWEEN THE SHIFTER AND THE CABLE RUNNING FROM FRONT TO BACK. START THE CAR, PRESS THE BREAK, AND LIGHTLY MOVE THE CABLE TOWARDS THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE PULLING THE GEAR SHIFT INTO GEAR. WORKS EVERY TIME. WILL NOT DAMAGE THE VEHICLE. I'LL WAIT UNTIL THE INEVITABLE RECALL HAPPENS, AND I CAN MAKE CHRYSLER FIX IT FOR FREE. TWO DEALERSHIPS AND TWO LOCAL MECHANICS HAVE PERFORMED A COMPLERE SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC. ONE OF THEM RETRIEVED CODE P0700-RELATED TO LOSS OF COMMUNICATION WITH PCM. HE CLEARED THE CODES AND TEST DROVE IT AGAIN AND COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM.THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHAT IS GOING ON. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM IF OUR CAR WERE TO STALL ALL OF A SUDDEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE FIRST TIME I STALLED WAS AFTER FILLING UP MY TANK , I WAS LEAVING THE GAS STATION, I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE OF ON COMING TRAFFIC WHEN IT STALLED, NEARLY GETTING HIT BY AN ON COMING CAR. SINCE THAT TIME IT HAS STALLED AT LEAST SIX TIMES. I WENT TO MY CHRYSLER DEALER WHO CLAIMS THEY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS PROBLEM. IT HAPPENED AGAIN TWO DAYS LATER WHILE ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO A SHOPPING CENTER WHEN IT STALLED , LEAVING ME IN THE FAR LEFT LANE OF ON COMING TRAFFIC. I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND REPORTED IT AGAIN AT WHICH TIME I WAS INFORMED THERE WAS STILL NO RECALL ON THE CAR AND I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE IT. THE OTHER DAY I GOT OFF WORK AND DROVE OFF FINE. I WENT TO THE BANK AND USED THE DRIVE THROUGH BECAUSE I HAD PULLED IN A LITTLE TO FAR AWAY FROM THE WINDOW I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND REACHED OUT. AFTER MY TRANSACTION WAS DONE, I TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND IT WAS STUCK IN PARK. IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT MANY MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE. THE INTERNET SUGGESTED PUSHING A PINK OVERRIDE BUTTON WHICH I DID BUT IT DID NOT WORK. IT STATED THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER BUTTON TO PUSH IF THAT DIDN'T WORK BUT THAT REQUIRED TAKING THE WHOLE SHIFT GEAR APART. NONE THE LESS, HAD TO CALL A TOW AND THE GUY INFORMED THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER 300. I HAVE ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR STALLING WHEN MAKING RIGHT TURNS?? CAR DROVE LIKE IT WANTED TO STALL AND WOULD ACCELERATE ON ITS ON. WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. TOOK CAR BACK AGAIN TO DEALERSHIP. SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. AGAIN WITHIN DAYS ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON AND IT HAD ACCELERATED A COUPLE OF TIMES BY ITSELF. I WAS IN A PARKED POSITION, PUT CAR IN DRIVE A BARELY TOUCHED GAS PEDAL AND IT ACCELERATED ON ITS ON AND I HIT A POLE. I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY TOWED THE CAR AND DID AN EVALUATION ON THE CAR AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING THAT WOULD CAUSE THE CAR TO ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. THEY WERE 2 CODES MULTIPLE MISFIRES AND SENSOR VOLTAGE HIGH. THIS VEHICLE HAS ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN, MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE BOTH EXPERIENCED THE ACCELERATION. *TR

HER PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN SOLVED. MINE CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM. AFTER REFUELING TANK I DROVE AWAY FROM THE PUMPS AND ONTO THE ROADWAY, DURING ACCELERATION TO SPEED LIMIT (50MPH), AT 25MPH THE ENGINE STALLED, WITH TRAFFIC QUICKLY APPROACHING I MIGHT ADD, AND LEFT ME COASTING. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THANKFULLY, AT WHICH TIME I HAD TO ATTEMPT A RESTART 3 TIMES BEFORE IT DID START, WHEN IT STARTED I HAD NO ISSUES FOR A FEW MONTHS. THIS EXACT SITUATION HAPPENED TO ME EVERY OTHER MONTH FOR A YEAR UNTIL I LEARNED TO NOT FUEL THE VEHICLE TO THE TOP. IT IS A CONSIDERABLE INCONVENIENCE TO NOT BE ABLE TO FILL THE CAR TO ITS CAPACITY, ESPECIALLY ON LONG TRIPS. MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C WAS A CAR THAT WAS WELL TAKEN CARE OF. IT HAD LESS THAN 90,000 MILES AT THE DATE OF THE INCIDENT. I WAS IN A DRIVE-THRU AND I TURNED OFF THE CAR TO SAVE FUEL. WHEN I WENT TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, THE CAR MADE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE THAT SOUND SIMILAR TO STICKING A BASEBALL CARD IN BICYCLE SPOKES BUT MUCH LOUDER AND STRONGER. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO CHUCK CLANCY CHRYSLER AND I WAS INFORMED THAT A VALVE SEAT HAD DROPPED AND DESTROYED SEVERAL CYLINDERS. THE BILL WAS $3,000. THIS CAR WAS ALWAYS MAINTAINED BY MAINTENANCE RECORDS AND THE OIL CHANGED WITH PENNZOIL PLATINUM ULTRA. TO ADD TO THIS STORY, I RECEIVED THE CAR BACK AND THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN TWO WEEKS LATER. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WAS OUT ANOTHER $4000 FOR THIS REPAIR. CHRYSLER REFUSED TO COVER IT AND GAVE ME THE COLD SHOULDER. I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE A CHRYSLER PRODUCT AGAIN. *TR
THE SHIFTER DETENT IN MY 300 BROKE WITHOUT ANY WARNING. I WAS ABLE TO CHANGE GEARS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL THIS INCIDENT WHEN I WENT TO DRIVE MY CAR, AND I COULDN'T GET THE GEAR OUT OF PARK. WHEN I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE CHRYSLER CAR DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT THIS PART HAD BROKE. THEIR CORRECTIVE ACTION WAS TO REBUILD SHIFTER ASSEMBLY. THE PART NUMBER USED TO FIX THE PROBLEM WAS 68088259AB - LEVER KIT SHIFTERINT. I ASKED WHAT I COULD HAVE DONE TO CAUSE THIS PART TO BRAKE SO I CAN PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN, AND THE SERVICE ASSOCIATE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOTHING I COULD HAVE DONE TO CAUSE IT. I DIDN'T RECOVER THE OLD PART FROM THE CAR DEALER. I SPOKE WITH OTHERS CHRYSLER AND DODGE OWNERS, AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR 300 OR CHARGER. THIS PIECE SHOULDN'T BRAKE WITHOUT ANY DAMAGE TO IT OR WEAR OUT. I HAVEN'T HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM OCCURRING WITH ANY OTHER CAR MANUFACTURERS, AND THE FACT THAT IT IS OCCURRING TO MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE MEANS THAT THIS MUST BE MANUFACTURER ISSUE.
