I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 C, THAT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR SERVICE 3-4 TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE PSI LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATES THAT IT HAS TO DO WITH THE SENSORS OF THE TIRES. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE WITH THE DEALER, BUT TO NO AVAIL. IT HAS TO BE A MANUFACTURES DEFECT. WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE? I PAY A $749 CAR NOTE A MONTH AND IT SEEMS THAT EVERY OTHER MONTH MY CAR IS IN THE SHOP FOR THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE ADVISE. IT THE PROBLEM BEGIN WHEN I NOTICED MY ENGINE LIGHT INDICATOR GOING ON AND OFF. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THEY ONLY SAID THAT BECAUSE THEY NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT INDICATOR WAS NO LONGER ON. BUT WHEN I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP, THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON SO I TURNED AROUND AND WHEN BACK. THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND REALIZED THAT IT WAS THE ESV VALVE. THE ESV VALVE TELLS THE GASOLINE WHERE TO GO IN THE MOTOR. SO NOW MY VEHICLE IS CONSUMING MORE GAS THAN BEFORE. NOTHING WAS DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT THE MECHANICAL PROBLEM WASN'T COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK THE CAR STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES AND WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO START. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT WOULD RUN PROPERLY. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL THE GAS TANK. THE SOLUTION HAS BEEN TO NOT FILL THE TANK. CHRYSLER KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM--THE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RECREATE IT IN THEIR TEST. *TR
ON CHRISTMAS DAY I WAS ON THE 152 HEADING TOWARDS GILROY WHEN TRAFFIC STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AND STOP IN FRONT OF ME. I TAPPED MY BRAKES TO LET THE GMC DUALLY PICKUP BEHIND ME KNOW I WAS STOPPING. HE DIDN'T NOTICE UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE AND HIT MY CAR FROM BEHIND. IT PUSHED ME INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND SPUN ME AROUND AND SLAMMED ME INTO A FENCE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE DRIVER SEATBACK IN MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C BROKE WHICH THREW ME OUT OF MY SEAT AND INTO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BACK SEAT SLAMMING ME UP AGAINST THE RIGHT REAR DOOR. THE SEATBELT ENDED UP ON MY FEET. I DON'T THINK THE SEAT SHOULD FAIL LIKE THAT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW THIS SEAT WAS TESTED AND PASSED. *TR
WHILE SLOWING FOR UPCOMING TRAFFIC I SIGNALED TO THE GMC DUALLY TRUCK BY TAPPING MY BRAKES...HE WAS TALKING TO HIS PASSENGER AND DIDN'T SEE ME...HE HI ME AT ABOUT 55 MPH...THE IMPACT PUSHED ME INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC SPINNING ME AROUND 3 TIMES...THE DRIVERS SEATBACK BROKE AND INSTEAD OF KEEPING ME IN MY SEAT (I WAS SEATBELTED) I ENDED UP IN THE RIGHT REAR BACK SEAT SLAMMING MY HEAD AGAINST THE RIGHT READ DOOR AND ALSO HURT MY BACK...I DON'T THINK THE SEAT IS SAFE IF IT DID THAT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE DEALER REPLACED FOUR ROCKET SHAFT PINS. SINCE THE REPLACEMENT, THE CONTACT HEARS A POPPING SOUND IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,307 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,498. UPDATED 03-04-08 *BF UPDATED 03/04/08 *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A CLICKING NOISE FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE LIFTER, ROCKER ARM, SHAFT, TRANSMISSION ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR SEAL, FILTER, AND GASKET. RECENTLY, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A SECOND OPINION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,801 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
WAS DRIVING ON I95 INTERSTATE WHEN THE CAR, CHRYSLER 300 2006 2.7L ENGINE,STARTED COSTING AND THE ENGINE RPM'S REVVING HIGH. THIS STAYED LIKE THIS FOR APPROX. 20 SECONDS AND THEN SLAMMED HARD BACK INTO GEAR CAUSING THE CAR TO BE ALMOST OUT OF CONTROL. THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED AT EAST 10 OTHER TIMES SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW. HAVE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST FIVE TIMES WITH NO SATISFACTION AT ALL. I HAVE BEEN TOLD "THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT EXIST",OR "WE CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM"OR" CHRYSLER DOES NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSES THIS TO HAPPEN" SOME TIMES THE CAR JUST SHUTS DOWN WHEN IT LOSES POWER. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM THAT OTHER CHRYSLER OWNERS HAVE HAD AND CHRYSLER CONTINUES TO IGNORE. *TR
TRANSMISSION LEAKING FLUID AT O-RING FOR CONNECTOR. *TR
SMELLED SMOKE AND THEN NOTICED CABIN OF CAR FILLING WITH SMOKE AS I WAS DRIVING HOME. MADE IT TO FRONT OF BUILDING WHERE I LIVE, GOT OUT OF CAR AND SAW SMOKE BILLOWING FROM TRUNK. OPENED TRUNK AND SAW FLAMES. CLOSED TRUNK. RAN INTO BUILDING, HAD CONCIERGE PUT OUT FIRE WITH FIRE EXTINGUISHER. AUSTIN FIRE DEPARTMENT SHOWED UP AFTER FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED. AFD INCIDENT # 07086697. *TR
1. DRIVING ON AN OVERPASS. MADE A LEFT TURN TOWARD RAMP TO GET ONTO I5 NORTH. 2. DURING THE TURN, I HEARD AND FELT A HUGE "CLUNK" SOUND FROM THE RIGHT FRONT OF CAR. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THINKING I MAY HAVE JUST RUN OVER A ROCK OR SOMETHING. AFTER A FEW WEEKS THE CAR BEGAN PULLING TO THE RIGHT WHILE DRIVING AND EVENTUALLY BEGAN VIBRATING HARSHLY WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. 3. BEING A "SHADE TREE" MECHANIC, I PULLED THE WHEELS AND CHECKED THE SUSPENSION. I NOTED THAT THE TIE ROD ENDS SEEMED TO BE SHOT. THIS IS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 TOURING WITH ONLY 62,000 MILES! I PURCHASED THE PARTS AND REPLACED THE OUTER TIE ROD ENDS. I TOOK NOTE THAT THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIE ROD ENDS DID NOT HAVE ANY WAY OF LUBRICATING THE TIE ROD BALL JOINT. THERE WERE NO GREASE POINTS THAT WOULD ALLOW PROPER MAINTENANCE OF THIS PART. I REMOVED THE BOOT FROM ONE OF THE OLD ENDS AND NOTICED THERE WAS VERY LITTLE GREASE IN THE JOINT AND THERE WAS SCARRING ON THE BALL WHERE THERE HAD BEEN METAL TO METAL CONTACT BETWEEN THE BALL AND THE HOUSING. THIS CAUSED THE BALL TO WEAR PREMATURELY AND EVENTUALLY CAUSED THE PART TO FAIL COMPLETELY. A PART OF MY OIL CHANGE RITUAL IS TO HAVE THE LUBRICATION POINTS GREASED. TIE ROD ENDS ARE MOVING PARTS WHICH NEED LUBRICATION IN ORDER TO REMAIN IN GOOD CONDITION. THE FACT THAT CHRYSLER IS USING PARTS WITH NO PROVISION FOR LUBRICATION IS INSIDIOUS AND SMACKS OF EXTORTION.
IN OCTOBER OF 2997, I PURCHASED A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 BRAND NEW. AFTER DRIVING IT FOR A FEW MONTHS I REALIZED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS NOT ILLUMINATING. UPON TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR, I WAS TOLD THAT CHRYLSER REPLACED THE LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WITH A SMALL LIGHT ON THE CONTROL STALK THAT OPERATES THE CRUISE CONTROL. I HAVE TO QUESTION WHETHER THIS REPLACEMENT IS A SAFE SITUATION. I CANNOT SEE THE LIGHT ON THE STALK WITHOUT LEANING FORWARD TO SEE OVER THE STEERING WHEEL HUB. I WOULD THINK THAT THE PURPOSE OF THE LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WOULD BE TO CONSTANTLY REMIND THE DRIVER THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL IS ON. IF THE DRIVER CANNOT SEE THE LIGHT, THE VALUE OF IT IS LOST, AND THE VEHICLE CAN BE OPERATED IN A LESS SAFE MODE THEN INTENDED BY THE NHTSA. I ASK WHETHER THE NHTSA APPROVED CHRYLER'S REPOSITIONING AND REDESIGN OF THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT. IF THE CHANGE DID NOT RECEIVE THE PROPER APPROVAL, I AM ASKING THAT A RECALL ORDER BB ISSUED, FORCING CHRYSLER TO INSTALL THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT WHERE IT WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED TO BE POSITIONED. I REALLY DOUBT WHETHER THE CURRENT DESIGN MEETS FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS. YOU WOULD HAVE RECEIVED THIS LETTER SOONER, BUT THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE RETURNED BY LETTER TWICE, CLAIMING THE ADDRESS ON YOUR WEB SITE WAS INCORRECT. THANK YOU. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE DEALER STATED THAT CYLINDER NUMBER SIX FAILED AND WAS CAUSING THE ENGINE TO LOSE COMPRESSION. THE DEALER WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLE IN APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 46,900. UPDATED 01/17/08 *BF THE DEALER STATED DOOR TO VEHICLE CAME OFF. UPDATED 01/17/08 *TR
CAR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON BRIEFLY, SHAKE, ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, BACKING UP, OR AT A STOP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. PROBLEM STARTED IN OCT 2007. TAKEN TO TWO DIFFERENT CHRYSLER DEALERS (WHITTEN BROS. & CROSSROADS, VA) AND TOLD THAT NO CODE FOUND TO SHOW A PROBLEM WHEN HOOKED TO THE COMPUTER. SECOND DEALER EXPERIENCED PROBLEM WHILE TEST DRIVING MY CAR, BUT THE CODE RESETS ITSELF QUICKLY AND THE DEALER IS NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE CAR COMPLETELY STOP RUNNING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND STAY ON. I HAVE TALKED TO SEVERAL OTHER 300 OWNERS IN MY AREA TO DISCOVER THAT THEY ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AND BEING TOLD THE SAME THING, BUT WE ARE TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A MYSTERY AND THE DEALER HAS NEVER HEARD OR SEEN THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. *TR
WHAT WAS DONE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE; I.E, PARTS REPAIRED OR REPLACED (AND IF OLD PART IS AVAILABLE). *TR
2006 CHRYSLER 300C W/ CONTINENTAL CONTISEAL 225/60R18 TIRES W/ 23K MILES. CAR RIDING EXTREMELY POOR & WENT TO DEALER. THEY STATED TIRES EGG SHAPED & I NEEDED TO CONTACT CONTINENTAL. THEY ARE ON CONTINENTAL WEBSITE AS TIRE DEALER, BUT DIDN'T WANT TO ASSIST WITH PROBLEM. I WENT TO A DIFFERENT CONTINENTAL DEALER FROM THE SITE, WHO PULLED OFF TIRES, NOTICED 1 TIRE HAD 2 SEVERE SPOTS OF SEPARATION & 3 WERE EGG SHAPED. I WAS INFORMED BY DEALERS THAT CONTISEAL TIRES ALL HAVE POOR LIFE & THE PUNCTURE SEALANT CAUSES THEM TO NEVER STAY IN BALANCE, THUS CAUSING ABNORMAL WEAR & SEPARATION. CONTINENTAL OFFERED 50PERCENT GOODWILL RATE SAYING I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, THOUGH TIRES RATED 60K THEY SAID IT DOES NOT APPLY TO NEW CARS. ALSO TOLD THEY DISCONTINUED THIS BRAND OF TIRE AND "HAD NEW IMPROVED REPLACEMENT SERIES" BECAUSE THEY FOUND HEMI ENGINE CARS ARE TOO HEAVY FOR CONTISEAL SOFT TIRES. I AM ANGRY IT COST ME $400 TO REPLACE TIRES THAT HAD 30 PERCENT USAGE, AS WELL AS BOTH DEALERS SAID ONE TIRE WAS READY TO SEPARATE AT ANY MINUTE & DIDN'T EVEN WANT ME TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME BECAUSE OF THE DANGER. I DO FREEWAY DRIVING AND HAVE AN INFANT IN THE BACK SEAT!! I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS POORLY DESIGNED TIRE & RECALL ISSUED. WHY SHOULD CONSUMERS HAVE TO SHELL OUT MONEY FOR TIRES THAT SHOULD HAVE YEARS OF LIFE LEFT?? I EVEN ASKED CONTINENTAL CUST. SERV. WHY THE 50% RATING, AND HE SAID BECAUSE 1 TIRE HAD THE SEPARATION & THE REST ONLY HAD STARTED THE PROCESS WHICH ONLY MADE MY "DRIVE ROUGH".. I ASKED "IF" IT HAD SEPARATED ON FREEWAY WHAT WOULD THEY HAVE DONE, AND HE SAID HE WOULD HAVE GIVEN ME THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT. I AM APPALLED AT THE DANGER OF THESE TIRES. I HAVE READ COMPLAINTS & THERE IS A CONSISTENT PROBLEM OBVIOUSLY & I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME ACTION TAKEN ON THIS COMPANY & MODEL OF TIRE. IT IS SIMPLY TOO DANGEROUS & ADMITTEDLY SO BY THE COMPANY'S REPS BY STATING THE TIRES IS TOO SOFT FOR HEMI ENGINES & THIS A COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 AWD. WHENEVER THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AT 25-30 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD PULL SLIGHTLY TOWARDS THE DRIVER'S SIDE. SHE FELT A VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT DID NOT NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCES IN THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE TIE ROD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY WAITING TO BE SERVICED BY THE DEALER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE MPH DROPPED TO 39. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT RAN AS NORMAL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CAUSED THE FAILURE AND MADE THE REPAIR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER LEVER FAILED TO OPERATE UNLESS THE SHIFTER COVER WAS REMOVED AND THE CABLE WAS LOOSENED. WHEN DRIVING IN COLD WEATHER TEMPERATURES, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO JERK WITH HESITATION. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION); HOWEVER THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR REPAIR. IN ADDITION, BOTH ENGINE FAN MOTORS FAILED TO OPERATE AND ONE OF THE PLASTIC FAN MOTOR BLADES CAUSED A BURNING ODOR WHENEVER DRIVING. IN ADDITION, THE FOG LIGHT LENS COVER WAS MELTED. THE CONTACT REPLACED BOTH FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLIES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 HEMI. EVERY SINCE I BOUGHT IT, I'VE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY TIRES AND RECENTLY NOTICED THAT THEY ARE WEARING DOWN UNEVENLY AND QUICKLY. I ONLY HAVE 46,000 MILES ON THE CAR. SOON AFTER NOTICING IT, I SAW ON THE NEWS THAT THEY WERE DOING A RECALL ON CONTINENTAL TIRES. LATER ON THAT SAME DAY, I TALKED WITH A FRIEND WHO HAD THE EXACT SAME CAR I HAVE. HE INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD SEEN THE RECALL ON THE NEWS AS WELL. HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD CALLED THE NUMBER THAT WAS GIVEN FOR THE COMPANY AND THAT THEY HAD PAID HIM FOR EACH OF HIS TIRES AND ALSO REPLACED THEM. I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET IN CONTACT WITH THE COMPANY, BUT I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET A HOLD OF ANYONE BY PHONE NOR EMAIL. I REALLY NEED TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE RECALL AND HOW I CAN GO ABOUT GETTING MY TIRES REPLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. *TR

WHILE THE CONTACT WAS CLEANING THE TIRES, HE NOTICED CRACKS ALONG THE SIDEWALLS AND WHITE WALLS. PRIOR TO DISCOVERING THE FAILURE, HE NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH. THE TIRES HAVE NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE VIN AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
WE WERE DRIVING CROSS COUNTRY FROM MICHIGAN TO TEXAS ON THE HIGHWAY. WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE LANE GOING 65 MILES PER HOUR. THE CAR STALLED AND IT WOULDN'T START UP AGAIN. MY HUSBAND COULDN'T CONTROL THE CAR. HE PUT THE FLASHERS ON. FORTUNATELY NO ONE HIT US. CARS STARTED DRIVING AROUND US. HE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO START THE CAR. WE HAD THE KIDS IN THE CAR AND IT FELT LIKE WE WERE STALLED FOREVER. WE WERE AFRAID FOR THE REST OF THE 2 DAY DRIVE. I WENT STRAIGHT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AFTER GETTING BACK FROM THE TRIP. THEY CHECKED THE CAR AND SAID THAT THEY COULDN'T GET THE CAR TO STALL, SO THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. IT HAD STALLED AGAIN THE FOLLOWING YEAR. *TR
I HAVE HAD ENGINE STALLING AFTER REFUELING ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS SINCE 2007. RECEIVED A LETTER DATED MAY 8, 2014 FROM CHRYSLER GROUP LLC INFORMING ME THAT MY MODEL CHRYSLER HAS A CONDITION WHERE THE FURL SHUT-OFF FLOAT IN THE MULTIFUNCTION CONTROL VALVE STICKS, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE LETTER INFORMED ME THAT THE WARRANTY ON THE TANK HAD BEEN EXTENDED TO LIFETIME COVERAGE. THIS IS WHERE MY PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE CONTINUES.... ON 17 JUNE 2014 TOOK MY VEHICLE TO CUTTER CHRYSLER IN PEARL CITY, HAWAII 96782 TO GET IT REPAIRED (MY WIFE WILL NOT RIDE IN THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE STALLING). I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER (APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MONTHS). I WENT BACK IN SEPTEMBER AND WAS INFORMED IT SHOULD BE 1-2 WEEKS. I WENT BACK TODAY 3 NOVEMBER 2014 AND WAS INFORMED STILL ON BACK ORDER WITH NO DATE AS TO WHEN PARTS MAY BE RECEIVED. CHRYSLER HAS NOT ADEQUATELY ADDRESSED THIS PROBLEM WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, WHEN YOU CAN'T GET YOUR VEHICLE REPAIRED BECAUSE OF BACK ORDERED PARTS. IT HAS BEEN 6 MONTHS AND NO REPAIR IN SIGHT. MY WIFE DOES NOT CONSIDER THIS LOW RISK TO VEHICLE SAFETY AND HAS NOT RIDDEN IN THE VEHICLE SINCE 2008! HOW CAN THE PRELIMINARY EVALUATION BE CLOSED WHEN CHRYSLER HAS NOT ADEQUATELY ADDRESSED FIXING THE PROBLEM. WARRANTY EXTENDED, BUT NO PARTS!! INVESTIGATION CLOSED BUT NO REPAIRS. THE NOISE COULD BE HEARD AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 15-20 MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES WHERE THE BRAKES PADS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 262 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,387.
A HOLE GOT PUNCHED IN MY FUEL TANK ON MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C WHEN IT WAS BEING DRIVEN DOWN A PAVED HIGHWAY AND THE DRIVER DID NOT HEAR ANYTHING THAT WAS HIT ON THE ROADWAY TO CAUSE THIS MUCH DAMAGE. THE DEALER STATES IT IS A ROAD HAZARD AND I CONTEST THIS RULING AND THINK THE FUEL TANK IS SUBSTANDARD IF IT FAILS THIS EASILY. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN WITH THE SAFETY OF OPERATING THIS VEHICLE IN THE FUTURE. PLEASE ADVISE HOW TO CONTINUE WITH MY CONTESTING THIS RULING BY THE DEALER SINCE IT IS COSTING ME AROUND $1,000.00 PLUS RENTAL AUTO COSTS TO GET THIS ISSUE CORRECTED WITH A NEW FUEL TANK. FUELED THE VEHICLE, ATTENDANT "TOPPED IT OFF". STARTED VEHICLE AND IT SPUTTERED, RUNNING POORLY AS IF IT HAD A FUEL ISSUE. SMELT FUEL FROM UNDER THE HOOD. LET VEHICLE SET FOR 10 MINUTES, STARTED UP VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED TO A 4-LANE MAIN HIGHWAY. JUST AS WE ACCELERATED FROM THE STOP LIGHT, THE CAR SPUTTERED, THEN DIED. I MANAGED TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OUT OF TRAFFIC. LET THE UNIT SET FOR 10 MINUTES, RAN THE VEHICLE AND NO FURTHER ISSUES THAT DAY. AT THE NEXT FILL UP, THE SAME PATTERN EMERGED. A THIRD INCIDENT OCCURRED A FEW MONTHS LATER AND I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE CAUTIONED THE FUEL ATTENDANTS TO NOT "TOP IT OFF" AND THE ISSUE HAS NOT REOCCURRED. *TR
I HAVE A 300 TOURING WHICH ALSO HAS THE JERKING PROBLEM WHEN IT IS ON CRUISE CONTROL BUT MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THE SEAT WARMER WHILE ON BURNED A HOLE IN THE BACK OF MY BACK. WE SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING BUT MY HUSBAND THOUGHT IT TO BE SOMETHING OUTSIDE THE FOLLOWING DAY WHILE PLACING MY DAUGHTERS WEDDING DRESS IN THE BACK SEAT. I SAW A BURNED HOLE IN THE BACK OF THE DRIVER SEAT. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER THEY SAID IT LOOKED TO THEM LIKE A CIGARETTE BURN. WE DON'T SMOKE. *AK
A/C PRODUCES MOLDY, MUSTY SMELL WHICH CAUSES ALLERGY PROBLEMS, IE: SNEEZING, COUGHING, WATERY EYES. TOOK TO DEALER WHERE IT WAS CLEANED AND SUPPOSEDLY TREATED FOR MOLD ON THE EVAPORATOR. CONDITION WAS IMPROVED BUT STILL PRESENT. I WILL RETURN TO DEALER ASAP TO COMPLAIN AGAIN. DEALER/SERVICE WRITER SAYS ALL CARS IN FLORIDA DO THIS. I HAVE LIVED IN FL ALL MY LIFE AND HAVE ONLY HAD ONE OTHER CAR THAT THIS HAPPENED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD ISSUED A RECALL AND THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED AFTER ONE TRIP TO THE DEALER. AFTER REFUELING (NOT OVER-FILLING) THE VEHICLE STALLS, BUCKS WHILE IN MOTION, DEALERSHIPS COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE REASON. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE TANK IS FILLED TO THE POINT THE GAS PUMP KICKS OFF. THE DEALER SUGGESTS THE SOLUTION IS TO NOT FILL THE TANK, WHICH IS A TACTIC THAT DOES WORK IF YOU CAN PREDICT HOW FUEL YOU CAN PUMP BEFORE THE SHUT-OFF. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE STALLING IS NOT IMMEDIATE AND WILL OFTEN OCCUR WITHOUT WARNING ONCE YOU HAVE ENTERED MOVING TRAFFIC. ON LINE FORUMS SHOW THIS TO BE A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM WITH 300C OWNERS. APPARENTLY, MANY DEALERS ARE NOW SUGGESTING THE FUEL TANK BE REPLACED AS A SOLUTION. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS ACTUALLY SOLVES THE PROBLEM. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHERE THIS OCCURRED I HAVE NARROWLY AVOIDED BEING REAR ENDED BY FOLLOWING TRAFFIC. BRAKE ROTORS BECAME WARPED ABOUT 17000 MILES THEN GOT WORSE AND WORSE. I REPLACED THE TIRES AT ABOUT 30,000 AND HAD THE PADS CHECKED. THE PADS WERE CERAMIC TYPE AND HAD ZERO WEAR. THE ROTORS ARE A PROBLEM. MY 05 DODGE 4X4 HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT ONLY HAS 23000 MILES. CHRYSLER IS BUYING BAD ROTORS!!!!!! *TR
I HAVE BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES BECAUSE THE CAR STALLS WHEN MAKING A SHARP TURN/U TURN OR HARD STOP/START. THE CAR WILL STALL AND THE ESP/BASS AND OIL LIGHTS COME ON. I LOSE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. THE CAR WILL NOT RESTART UNTIL THE KEY HAS BEEN TURNED COMPLETELY OFF AND THEN BACK ON. THE DEALER ALWAYS TELLS ME IT IS OPERATING NORMALLY. I FINALLY GAVE UP AND WAS JUST LIVING WITH IT AFTER THE VEHICLE WENT OUT OF WARRANTY. IT WAS ONLY AFTER I READ ANOTHER PERSON'S ACCOUNT ONLINE THAT I REALIZED IT WAS HAPPENING AFTER A FUEL FILL (I DO NOT TOP OFF MY TANK). AFTER LEARNING THIS, I CAN NOW MAKE THE CAR STALL ON DEMAND. ALL I HAVE TO DO IS FILL IT UNTIL THE PUMP SHUTS OFF, THEN MAKE A HARD TURN BACK AND FORTH AND THE CAR STALLS. IF YOU PULL OUT FROM THE GAS STATION SLOWLY AND MAKE NO SHARP MOVEMENTS, THE CAR WILL NOT STALL. AT COLD START, FOR FIFTEEN TO TWENTY SECONDS, ENGINE REVS FROM 500 TO 1500 RPMS, SEVERAL TIMES AND ALMOST CUTS OUT. 1ST VISIT: SENSORS CHECKED AT DEALERSHIP; 2ND VISIT: THROTTLE BODY REPLACED; 3RD VISIT: COMPUTER REPROGRAMMED; 4TH VISIT: MAP SENSOR REPLACED. I JUST PURCHASED A CHRYSLER 300C BACK IN JULY. I HAD TO RETURN TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES FOR THE EZ-UP WINDOW ON THE DRIVER SIDE MALFUNCTIONING. THEY STATED TO ME THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. EVERY TIME THEY RESET THE COMPUTER, THE WINDOW WORKS FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS THEN STOPS WORKING. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER TO FIND OUT WHY I HAD THESE BIG GROOVES IN MY ROTORS AND A GRINDING NOISE AND THEY HAVE 2 BULLETINS OUT ON THE BRAKE PROBLEM BUT WOULD NOT FIX THEM DUE TO CAR BEING PAST 12,000 MILES. THESE BRAKES COULD BE FAULTY THE VEHICLE IS A 300 SRT /I TOOK IT TO A BRAKE SPECIALIST AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE DEFECTIVE AND NOW THE DEALER WONT FIX THEM BECAUSE THE CAR HAS 16,000 MILES ON IT. THESE CARS BRAKES COULD LEAD TO SAFETY PROBLEMS IF NOT RECALLED. *JB
(11-9-2006) CAR STALLED 4 TIMES IN A ROW. THE STALLING HAS CONTINUED UP TO YESTERDAY (9-15-2013). THE CAR WOULD STALL AT A STOP OR AT FREEWAY SPEEDS AND AT RANDOM TIMES FROM A FEW DAYS UP TO 3 OR 4 MONTHS. THE DEALER NEVER HAD A SOLUTION. I HAVE REPLACED MANY ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS RECOMMENDED BY THE DEALER INCLUDING THE PCM. BEFORE I CHANGED THE PCM, I WOULD HAVE TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND TURN THE SWITCH TO RESTART THE CAR. AFTER I REPLACED THE PCM THE CAR WILL STILL STALL, BUT THEN WILL "KICK START" ITSELF IF I AM GOING OVER 25 MPH. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL STALL 2 OR 3 TIMES AND THEN RUN GREAT FOR A MONTH OR 2. IT IS ALWAYS RANDOM. I HAVE LOOKED INTO RENTING A BLACKBOX TO INSTALL IN MY CAR TO CAPTURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, HOWEVER THE DEALER SAYS THAT A RECORDER FOR MY CAR DOESN'T EXIST. I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER 300, MY ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING, I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP WERE THEY INFORMED ME THAT I HAVE SLUDGE IN MY ENGINE AND THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DONE UNTIL I PROVIDE MAINTENANCE RECORD, THE BLAME WAS PLACED ON ME, THE CONSUMER. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEGLECTED MY NEW VEHICLE THAT I OWE 32K ON. HOW CRAZY IS THAT. THE CAR WAS 10 MONTHS OLD AT THE TIME I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR AND ALSO HAD A OIL CHANGE THE DAY OF MY CAR BEING TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. MY CAR GEARS ARE NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY, AND MY ENGINE AT 21,000 MILES SHOULD NOT BE SLUDGED EVEN AFTER THE OIL CHANGES WERE DONE ON THE VEHICLE. CHRYSLER ALONG WITH THE DEALERSHIP REFUSE TO REPAIR MY CAR AND THE RECALL. THEY TOLD ME SINCE I WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION OF MY OIL CHANGES THAT MY REPAIR IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE MANUFACTURES WARRANTY. I ADVISED CHRYSLER THAT SURELY THEY WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT IF I HAVE 3500.00 WHEEL ON MY CAR THAT SURELY THEY WOULD KNOW SPENDING UNDER 25.00 FOR AN OIL CHANGE IS NOT A BIG DEAL. I HAVE THE 2.7L ENGINE THAT IS KNOWN FOR SLUDGED ENGINES AND CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURES. I PLAN TO RENT A BILL BOARD ON ONE OF THE MAJOR HIGHWAYS IN MY AREA TO ADVISE CONSUMERS BEWARE OF THE 2.7 LITER ENGINES. I PLAN TO USE THE LOCAL MEDIA, NEWSPAPER AND PICKET THE CHRYSLER PLANT AND DEALERSHIP IN MY AREA. I WAS TOLD TO COME PICK UP MY VEHICLE AFTER THEY HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR OVER A MONTH BECAUSE I WILL START BEING BILLED FOR STORAGE CHARGES. I ADVISED HIM THAT I REFUSE TO PICK UP THAT VEHICLE UNTIL THE REPAIRS AND RECALL HAS BEEN DONE. THE CAR IS CONSIDER A SAFETY HAZARD AND STILL SHOWS AN INCOMPLETE RECALL. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE GEAR WOULD ONLY SHIFT INTO SECOND AND THEN LOCKED UP. THERE WAS NO WARNING SIGNAL PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO 2 DIFFERENT SERVICE DEALERS ON 4 OCCASIONS. THE FIRST DEALER DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS A PROCEDURE IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE COLD LIMP MODE, THE CONTACT WAS SUPPOSE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND MOVE THE SELECTOR LEVEL TO THE PARK POSITION, TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND WAIT APPROX. 10 SECONDS. AFTER 10 SECONDS, THE ENGINE SHOULD BE RESTARTED AND THE SHIFT LEVER SHOULD BE MOVED TO THE DESIRE GEAR. ON THE SECOND VISIT TO THE PREVIOUS DEALER, THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED. ON THE THIRD VISIT, THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED BUT CODES PO763 AND PO762 WERE IDENTIFIED BY DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CODES WERE CLEARED AND THE VEHICLE WAS ROAD TESTED. ON THE FOURTH VISIT, THE VEHICLE WAS HOOKED UP TO A COMPUTER RECORDER UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD AND CODE PO762 WAS FOUND. DURING THIS PERIOD, THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE COLD LIMP MODE BUT AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS ADJUSTED THE VEHICLE RETURNED BACK TO NORMAL. THE DEALER CONTACTED ONSTAR (FOR THE NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM) FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE HOOKED UP TO THE MONITOR - CASE#8547343 WAS PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, WHO REMOVED AND REPLACED THE VALVE BODY. THERE WAS A NHTSA RECALL # 05V460000 PERTAINING TO THE POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN.
When car is cranked and put in gear or stop car will go dead. When driving if I ease off gas and then reapply the gas car will stall which can be quite hazardous while driving. The problem was intermittent has been going since I have had the car thought the tank recall would fix the problem which it we thought had corrected the problem for a time. But it became intermittent at first it was every few weeks and now it does it whenever I drive the car several times as I drive recently I am now afraid to try and drive it especially any distance. The gas tank was replaced due to a recall. Have replaced fuel tank and thermostat. My mechanic isn't sure what is going on. I have seen various forums where others are having the same problems with their 2006 Chrysler 300 C's and have taken them back to the dealer and they have not been able to determine what the problem is. I feel this should be investigated.

THE DECREASED BRAKING FORCE AND INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE CONTINUED TO PERSIST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED. *AK
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE REAR SEATBELT DID NOT RESTRAIN THE CHILD SAFETY SEAT TIGHTLY. THE CHILD WAS ABLE TO GET OUT FROM UNDER THE SEATBELT. THE LAP AND SHOULDER BELT DID NOT PROPERLY SECURE THE CHILD. THE SERVICE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, WHO SUGGESTED THAT THE MANUFACTURER BE NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, AND EXPRESSED THAT THE SEAT BELT WOULD TIGHTEN WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE CONTACT DISAGREED BECAUSE THE CHILD WOULD BE THROWN FORWARD IF THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED WHILE THE CHILD WAS NOT RESTRAINED PROPERLY. THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE CHILD SEAT ITSELF.
